1. Hey hey. It's been a long time since I last requested a banner and avatar. Not since December anyways. That's because I got Photoshop CS2 in January (I think) and started making my own. But right now it's broken! So, I have come here for a set. I would like to have a picture of me. That's all I ask (besides text which is mentioned next). As for the rest, go nuts. No text on the avatar. For the text, have "little boy white" in white ontop of a large white W with the opacity turned down a tad. Click here for an example. 2.
Ah, back in like 2001 or 2002 I started out at www.theotaku.com and from there found myotaku.[/SIZE']
I didn't know myO even existed in 2002. I could have sworn it was put into play around the time v7 was. O__o; Anyway, it was November 2002 and around the time of my birthday. I was looking for infortmation on birthstones (particularly Topaz) when I stumbled across some DBZ fanart by an artist named Topaz. I was a fan of DBZ at the time so I clicked it. From that point up until the installment of version 7 is a big blur. I remember joining OB in January '03 as Winged-Kid and making two new accounts (Roket and Scorpio) to get a different name (since I didnt't know the Administrators could change it for you). I'm pretty sure that OtakuBoards looked similar to this when I joined. Although I'm positive that it was a tiny bit different (colour scheme was different, maybe?). And that's my story.
  3.
I do have a question though, and I apologise again if it's already been asked. Do our characters get to meet outside the game anytime soon? Or will there be posts outside the game?
Hopefully this new post has answered your question. For those of you that have read my newest post in the Square thread, an Event has just started. One of the GMs hid a copper coin and you are looking for it (if you choose to participate). I also talked about mounts there. If we get enough people participating in the event, I'll decide on the winner judging by creativity and quality of their post(s). I guarantee that you won't win if you find the coin in your first post. If your post involves you or your character trying to figure out the location of the coin, just make the post subject title: Event 1. As GM Tagg said, to get your mount, you must re-log. You can do whatever you want while logged out. Just make the text colour different from that of what you normally use when you're in-character (this makes it easier to seperate logged in and logged out characters). PvP was disabled. This means that there will be no fighting between players. If you try to swing a sword at a player, the game just won't let you. :) EDIT: This would also be a good place for those of you who haven't posted yet to come in. EDIT2: Sakura... yes. :)
  4. EVENT! Across the whole globe, a booming voice shouted again. "Event!" It was a GM. GM Tagg to be more specific, as White had figured out. GM Tagg was one of the best Event Master's around. She came up with some of the best ideas, and all in all was just very sweet when it came to who won. "The Event today is Hide and Go Seek. I have hidden a small copper coin, the size of a toenail, somewhere in EVIO. Your job is to find it and return it to me. Feel free to get into groups to look for it. While this event is in progress, all PvP (player versus player) will be disabled and anyone participating has been granted a mount for the time being. "If you are of the Fire Faction, you will recieve the Tribal Dog. Water Faction members will get a Water Serpent. A Gryphon will belong to you Wind-users and Earth Faction players will recieve a Rock Ram. Finally, players of the Light Faction will get a Unicorn and Shadow followers will get a Demon Horse." As soon as GM Tagg finished the mount speech, players dropped weapons and raced for to look around the globe, trying to find the Copper Coin. GM Tagg spoke again. "To get your mount, sign-up at the nearest list in your local city and log out. When you log back in, your mount will be waiting for you in your bank. Also, I have hidden 4 fake Copper Coins. They look identical to the other one, but are not one in the same. Handing in one of these will grant you the ability to keep your mount."
  5.
The only game I own that come close to a classic is Final Fantasy VII, which I'm playing again[/i'] for the "n"-teenth time.
I think you mean umpteenth. :whoops:
Honestly, given half the chance I would go back and play all of the games I grew up with once more, but in typical fashion I almost always sell off the games I don't play anymore to buy new ones, which is a decision I always come to regret. Right now, the game I'm currently craving to play is Super Mario World for the SNES, and I've considered getting the GBA port, but it's probably a phase I'm going through, so I doubt I will; there are other games that deserve my ill-gotten cash spent on.
You, sir, are exactly like my friend. He always sells the games he doesn't play anymore and later regrets it. I, however, keep mine. Let me see... I still have my BFG (big, fat, and grey) Gameboy, Gameboy Colour, Virtual Boy (with the original Mario Tennis. Oh yeah!), Sega Genesis (along with the Sega CD attachment), Super Nintendo (I never owned the NES), Playsation One (the small grey one between PS and PS2), N64, Sega Dreamcast (the original Phantasy Star and Sonic Adventure are the best ones), Gameboy Advanced, Gameboy SP, Nintendo Gamecube, and my XBOX. Obviously the last 4 aren't classic, but I thought I'd mention them anyways. So you see that I must have a lot of classics. One of my favourites being Super Mario All-Stars (be jealous!). Every once and a while I go and get my Sega Genesis/SNES and play Sonic & Knuckles/Super Mario All-Stars/Yoshi's Island, but not often. Regardless, it's fun while I do and I certainly do not regret not selling my systems. I also have the old SNES game, Hook (the game of the movie). Has anyone here played that?
  6. No this is not a thread about necromancy. Rather, it's about old OtakuBoards members. I have a question for you all. If you could bring back one old OB user, who would it be? Why? What I mean by this is of all the OBers who left OtakuBoards for whatever reason which one would you like to see come back to OB and start posting frequently again? I'll start you off with my person. Member: Little Serenity Profile: Click here. Last Seen: 06-23-2004 Why? Because she was, besides Sakura, my favourite person to Roleplay with back in 2003. We were in almost all RPG's together and I just adored her. I had the hugest crush on her aswell. :whoops: I'd really like to see her make an OB comeback, even if I were the only one who noticed (although I'm sure people like Revelation and Sakura would remember her). It'd be interesting to see how she's changed since 2003. What about you guys?

    Help please
I'm not certain whether or not this is the right area to post this in, but since it relates to art, I will do so anyway. I wish to report stolen art on myotaku.com. I know that there is a report this image button, but I want to have the art removed as soon as possible or to tell whatever administration there is. Can anyone help me? or can I only report it but not tell the details? I have also been looking for a link to some sort of help area or faq, but I cannot find it. If anyone knows where I can find it your help would be very much appreciated.
It might do you a world of good to tell us your myOtaku account, what of your art was stolen, who stole it, and how they stole it. Did they use it without your permission? Or did they post it as their own?
  8. Chapter 2 The Wooden Boy... with attidude. A few years ago, not far off from where our heroes are now, in a little house on the corner of a street lived a woodcarver named Gipetto. All day long, he would carve marionette's for puppeteer's across the city. One day, he carved a very special marionette. Dusting off some sawdust, he stood infront of the wooden boy proudly, admiring his work. "I shall call you Jokopokonocchio." and with that, he went to bed. A few moments later, a magical being appeared in the room where this marionette was sitting. She waved her wand and tapped him on the nose. "I am granting you life, Jokopokonocchio. But this comes with a warning. Everytime you tell the truth, your nose will grow a tiny bit. You must lie to make it shrink again." she said. And she disappeared into a ball of sparkles. ...the little boy's eyes opened. He was alive and he wanted out of this dump. "I'm hungry." whined White, rubbing his stomache. "Me too." moaned Retri Hood. "Yeah, same. :
  9.
White: To show him I am indeed a girl.[/color']
What exactly do you mean by that? >: ) *ahem* I'm going to add some more people. And yeah, here we go. Sandy. He's one cool guy. I'm not a huge Final Fanatic, but I know enough to get excited over it. So, I think it'd be cool to meet him. Revelation. We only really started talking recently (sort of), but it was enough for me to realize she'd be one awesome person to meet in real life. Jokopoko. Will is the only person on OB that I have ever had a fight with. And that just shows that we're good friends. If we barely knew eachother, there would be no fighting. Besides, I'd love to slaughter him in Mario Kart or something where I can be Mario and he can lose as Waluigi. >>" Dare. Wow, we've only had about 3 or 4 conversations, but they were special. She's a lot like me (in that opposite gender kind of way O_o) and that's appealing. Because I'm appealing. Yeah, I'd love to meet her. Keyblade Wielder. Err... yeah. She's about as random and spontaneous as DW and I, but in a different way. And that's cool in my books. Plus she's cute. ^_^ John. We haven't really talked in a while, but we used to talk quite a bit. He's a fun guy and I'm sure he's a lot of fun in real life. Katana. Anyone who wants to prove to me that they're a women is fine with me. ;D
  10.
Explaining the 7-days theory with the 7-eras theory is just a pathetic retcon by Christianity to try and explain something that is quite clearly ludicrous and insane. The 'theory,' if you can even call it that, has been so terribly destroyed by every possible form of evidence and common sense, it's not even worth debating anymore - it's laughable.
What is it with you and things being laughable? I think you're view on things is laughable. It's not so much that we're interpreting the 7 days into 7 eras, it's that man invented time. Therefor when God was making the world, he did it by his own time, which is completely different from man's time. It's a difficult thing to explain, I think.

  12. The following is an OB fanfic. It revolves around many OtakuBoards members in a Fairy Tale setting. It's meant to be comical at some points and just cool at other points. The graphic was made by Dragon Warrior. -White Tales from the OtakuBoards Archives Chapter 1 *zip* An arrow wizzed past Little White Walking Hood's face and hit the target. In fact, it split the arrow that was already on the target in two. It's a shame that the arrow which was split in two was on the white part of the board. "Nice shot, Retri Hood." said White with a hint of sarcasm. Retri Hood, who was dressed in green cloth, pulled another arrow from his quiver and set himself up for another shot. He pulled back the rope and smiled. "This one's for you." he said, letting go of the fletching on the arrow. It flew past White's face again and hit the bullseye. "Damnit! How come everytime I want my arrows to hit, they don't, and everytime I don't want them to hit, they do?!" White shrugged and pulled an apple out from underneath his brown vest. Ontop of that vest, he wore a white cape with a hood attached to it. He was also fairly short, hence where the Little in his name came from. The walking part however, came from his well-known laziness. If White was told to run, he'd probably just end up walking. Before he could take a bite out of his apple, White's mother appeared at the entrance of the Archery Training Grounds. "White, hunny! Please, could you do a little errand for me?" White sighed and tossed his apple onto the ground. He walked towards his mother as Retri Hood continued to miss his target. He threw his white hood back, revealing his blonde hair and threw his head to the side. "What's up, ma?" "I need you to take this basket of goodies to your Grandmother. The poor women has grown lonely and I think your visit will be just the tonic she needs." With that, White's mother handed him the basket and turned on her heel, leaving. White turned his head towards Retri Hood and spoke. "Can you help me with this task, pal? I may need some protection." Retri stopped shooting and gave White an odd look. "Where the hell does your Granny live?" "The other side of the world." "I can't... I have a hot date tonight." "Haha, of course you do." "...coming." *insert neato time-passing symbol here* A few hours later, two horses packed with supplies sat at the town gate. A few feet away, White and Retri Hood were just getting ready to leave. Retri looked longingly at the horses. "I wish we had horses..." "I wish we had supplies. Let's go." The pair started on the path, walking towards the forest. The pear in the basket started rotting. Before the entrance of the forest, there was a river that had to be crossed. The only way across that river was to go over the bridge. A bridge that happened to be guarded by a buff guard whom was buffed with buffs... buff. When Retri and White came up to the guard, he eyed them once and lifted his head, ignoring them. White tried to slide past, but the guard just strafed infront of him. "What should we do?" Retri Hood whispered to White. "We need to get past somehow." "Good plan." White stroked his chin and smiled at Retri. "You distract him while I sneak by." Retri nodded and waved his arms in the air. The guard looked at him inquisitively. "Hey you! You with the ugly face!" he yelled. As soon as he said this however, the guards eyes welled up with tears and he covered his face, running away. "I have feelings too you know!" The two looked at eachother and shrugged, crossing the bridge.

  14. Name: Mask Gender: Male Appearance: Mask © GTK Personality: Not a real talker, Mask tries not to get involved with his opponent in anyway as he's afraid he'll get attached to them, making it harder to kill. He simply does no talking whatsoever and this tends to strike some fear into particular enemies (depending on the person, of course) due to his mask. Weapons: Mask's main weapon is his precious Noker (seen in his left hand). Noker is a light-weighted, metal stave that is about arm's length. At the very end of it is two prongs which, when the button is pressed, run electricity between them like a taser. Normally, Noker is just hand's length, but when Mask pulls it out and whips it, it extends to it's normal length. If another button is pressed, a short dagger blade will slide out of the handle, making it possible for the taser part to retract giving Mask a dagger. Mask's secondary weapon is his Skull-Bombs. All around his body are palm-sized skulls that explode on impact. There are different kinds of bombs, however. Some of them release a gasious acid, while others release cover smoke. Skills: When Mask takes his cloak off, he means business. All of his clothes are skin tight, making it easier for him to jump around. His main skill would be his acrobatics, which he practices all the time. Something Mask takes pride in is his Anti-Gravity simulator. Found on the inside of his belt, when pressed in, this little invention simulates a different gravitational pull than the planet he is on. Combining this with his acrobatics can be deadly, as he could run along walls, and just do things much more quickly. He's quite accurate with his bombs, as they are fairly light, and he is very quick with Noker (which isn't hard to do, considering it's so light).

  16. I didn't mean for you to post that, Black. >.> Normally I'd go all mean-bean on your butt, Nightmare. However, considering the picture... I'll let it slide. _o_ I'd also like to take this time to mention that you shouldn't really put words in the art, as it kind of takes away from the whole idea of the person writing a paragraph about the picture. :whoops:
  17. Boo, you're in. And I have to admit that those are the coolest skills I've seen the whole RPG. Nice intro too. I also edited my profile since my character is no longer a GM.
  18. In 2004, a member here at OtakuBoards named Lady Asphyxia created a thread called the Art Pad Picture Chain. Unfortunately, it only lasted a total of two months. It was a creative way of mixing art and writing together. One person would use Art Pad to paint a picture. The next person to post would reply to that post with a short paragraph of writing about that piece and then post their own Art Pad Picture. It was a lot of fun, and so, since we have so many more talented artists here at OtakuBoards I think it will go on for a long while. So, I'll start. You can view my picture here. The next person to post will post a narrative description of my painting (it can be an action, talking about surrounding's, person's thoughts, etc) and then post their own painting.
  19. Okay, well I'll tell you what, Takuya. Ever since I started this RPG you've been pestering me non-stop with different things. You're the only one that seems to have a problem with the RPG aspects and to be honest, it's getting annoying. I created the RPG, you are participating in it. You talk about it being realistic with that people don't want to run for long distances and what not, but you turn around and say there should be a death penalty? In a game where someone who has been playing for a year can walk up and kill someone who has been playing a day (wether it's against the rules or not), the last thing players want is a death penalty. I take this from experience. Real MMORPG experience. Besides, there is free transportation between cities. The Dragon has no price, it just takes a tiny bit of a time to wait for. And a lower level wouldn't even need to teleport to the big cities at first regardless. By the time they really needed to get to a city instantly, it would be pennies for them. I realize you posted the idea for the teleportation and death penalty, and I appreciate that, those were questions that needed to be answered. But that doesn't mean you can choose what you want.
  20. So many questions for such an open-ended RPG! In reply to Kitty and Ezekiel, do what you want! Go fight monsters (make up your own if you want), make up a quest and do that. It's the same as any other RPG in the sense that you can have your post consisting of you requesting a party invitation and waiting for someone else's character to reply in their own post. In reply to Takuya, I realize that the free teleportation would be handy.. but dang that would be cheap. In all the MMORPG's I have played, I have never found a type of transportation that is both instant and free (aside from class-specific skills, but even then you don't really have much choice on where you teleport to). I updated the FAQ with what happens when you die. Thanks for the question, Takuya. And there will be an in-game event soon aswell.
  21.
Nah i won't do that. like i said earlier there are no right or wrongs in this and also no voting out. they all depend on the choices you make whether you block another players way to victory or help them to victory. however this RP also impiles the law of nature the strong shall survive and the weak shall perish. and the strong i mentioned may take the form of strong at heart, not always strong as in physical strength.
Well, how exactly is the RPG going to run? Will there be chapters or no? It seems that everyone who posts here is just asking what you mean by "The Test." I'd suggest getting more in-depth with your description. If you want any help, just PM me. ^_^
  22. Yeah, like Charles said, stick with a routine. My schedule resets every week. Mondays I work my upper body, mainly my abdominals, and I do a short 10 minute run. Tuesdays I work my lower body and so on and so forth. My Dad is a very fitness-oriented person, so he mixes me a protein drink everyday and I drink that. I actually love working out, as it makes me feel like I'm actually doing something worth it in the long run instead of sitting on my butt all day. For instance, when I first started working out it took my 48 minutes to run 4km. Now, after about 4 months of consistent training, I can 7 km in 38 minutes. Which is (obviously) a huge improvement. Just try to stick with one thing and make minor changes as you go along (more weight, longer runs, etc).
