It does irritate the mods. FirePheonix727, please avoid cluttering up Recruitment threads. If you have questions for someone, just PM them. Thanks, --terra

maikiratori, I'm not sure if it's not showing up just on your computer, but your previous post in this thread with your character is showing up on my computer. Perhaps you were looking in the wrong place by accident? I don't know. If you're still experiencing this problem, feel free to take it to the Suggestions & Feedback forum, which is for any problems and questions. (After this, please do not flood this thread with comments of "I see it!" or "I don't see it!". You can PM maikiratori if you'd really wish to mention how you see or don't see it ... just please don't clutter up Recruitment threads. :)) --terra

Skeith, this is not an acceptable beginning to an RPG. You should add in a good more deal of back story, perhaps a brief description of who the characters from .hack are exactly, as well as what you really mean by a "clan." Look at some other RPGs, and you'll see their stories have a good deal more content and detail; yours is rather short and undescriptive at the moment. Characters should also have a little more depth to them, rather than just having a couple of brief phrases in description of their "personality." Please edit this signup extensively, or the thread will be closed. Thanks, --terra

Inuyasha Fandom, please don't post comments or advice to other members in Recruitment threads (especially since you're not the creator of this RPG). If you'd really like to say something not signup-related, please use Private Messages. Thanks, --terra

OOC: Lissa and Aissa originally started out as the same character. :p And I have a small issue with her taking the cloak "automatically," I don't think she'd be quite that servile ... I'll do it from Lissa's POV in my post. Lissa took the cloak that Lady Salome offered her politely, hiding her surprise that the elegant lady would treat her as if she were of a lower rank. It doesn't matter, she assured herself. I probably would've taken her cloak for her anyway. Lissa led the way deeper into the chapel. It was a beautiful place, well-lit by the frequent inclusion of skylights in the ceiling. Sun bounded through them into the building, and it was in one of those rectangles of light that the Skye priestesses were still praying. Lissa and Lady Salome paused in front of them briefly, the lady crossing herself in respect for the Skye gods, before proceeding to one of the side rooms, where the head Skye priest had his office. He rose to greet them, still majestic even in his venerable old age. "Lady Salome," he said, a smile spreading itself across his ancient features. "What a pleasant surprise. What brings you here?" "I wished to speak with you," Lady Salome said, and Lissa, deciding to exercise some tact, stepped outside, out of hearing range. Or so she thought. Inadvertently, she heard little bits of their conversation, and not wishing to incriminate herself, she didn't dare move away. Strange shifting ... thrown off-balance ... rumors ... murder. The words sent a chill down Lissa's spine. Some of the phrases sounded remarkably like the feelings she'd experienced only a few minutes ago. (edited)

Ms. Greenville's heels clicked perkily as she walked down the hall towards her classroom. She hadn't been too busy throughout the day, since there were only a couple of physics classes to teach, and this wasn't her main source of income, after all. But she was a bit late to her class, which was unfortunate -- she did hate tardiness. Ah well, I'm the teacher, I suppose I'm excused, she thought to herself, smiling a little as she opened the door to her classroom. The students hushed as she walked in. They usually did, and Ms. Greenville could never decide whether it was admiration, the general fear of teachers, or just cowed stupidity. She was inclined to believe it was the last. "Anybody have any problems on the homework?" she asked as she shuffled through the papers on her desk. "Um, Ms. Greenville?" a rather timid girl in the back asked. "I didn't really get #5 as well as I wanted ... do you think we could go over it?" Ms. Greenville raised her eyebrows, but didn't let any of her thoughts (Students these days are so stupid, I just don't understand how they ever even graduate high school, #5 was probably the easiest problem I assigned) filter onto her face. "Absolutely," she said with a smile, and began to do the problem on the board.

Aissa felt odd. Numb, perhaps. No, wait, she was assuredly feeling a tingle in her hands. As if she was slowly coming back to life. Or perhaps someone was rubbing them. She opened her eyes to see Anubis bending over her, and that worked when few other things might have. She shrieked and rolled over, and would have crushed his hand had he not moved it with dexterity. Anubis said nothing, only rolled his eyes. Aissa herself felt her actions a bit unnecessary now that she realized who he was, but ... it had been more than a bit unexpected to open her eyes and have him greeting her. "Feeling better, I see," Anubis said, acrimonious and haughty. More so than usual. "Sorry about that," Aissa mumbled. "I was ... surprised." "Undoubtedly," was Anubis' piercing response. Why did his words have that harsh tone to them? He couldn't be ... offended, could he? Aissa was so used to thinking of Anubis as some heartless, bloodless machine that this was a new thought. Rather than ask, though, she stored the idea away in her mind for future pondering. Aissa sat up, her joints feeling a little stiff. "Where are we?" she asked before remembering how idiotic that sounded, coming from her of all people. "Ma'Uriith," Anubis answered, apparently deciding to let the opportunity for a jab slip unnoticed. "Can't you tell?" Aissa bit back a rejoinder and looked around, suddenly realizing what he meant. The landscape was barren; harsh crags jutted out against the sky. Those crags were buildings, Aissa recognized after a moment of scrutiny, or rather, the ruins of them. The ruins of the bustling town that had once been Ma'Uriith. Aissa noted Leile, curled up in an adorable fetal position, lying nearby. She restrained herself from any morbid accusations and asked, "Is Leile sleeping?" "Yes, she's been resting for a couple of hours, as have you," Anubis replied. "But I think she'll be ready to get up, now that you've ... awoken." Recovered, Aissa thought dryly to herself, thanking him silently for not mentioning the ... aftereffects ... of her spell. "That's all well and good," Aissa said, a new thought occurring to her. "But now that we're here ... how exactly are we going to go about finding more on this curse?"

Ellie couldn't help but crack a smile walking outside as she passed a wet behind, on the figure of Justin. Luckily, she wouldn't have to worry about getting her own clothes wet, as she'd changed into her bathing suit (after giving Ken fair warning, of course). She'd been very quick about it, and only Jenna was out there when she jumped in, rejoicing in the feeling of the cool water enveloping her body. She loved swimming, more than most other things she could imagine. "Hey," Jenna said when she resurfaced. "Hey," Ellie said, grinning. "Pool -- hot tub -- you picked a good place." Jenna laughed. "Well, I'm working for you guys. How's it all going?" "Good," Ellie said, moving her hands back and forth idly, enjoying the weightless feeling in the smoothness of the water. "Ken and I are rooming together ... I don't really know him yet, but I think it'll work out pretty well. And I'm really excited for when we start up the restaurant, though I bet it'll be a ton of work." "We can start getting things ready," Jenna informed her, pushing off with her feet to float comfortably on her back. "Tori's already designed a costume -- I mean, a uniform for the waitresses." "Really? Are we going to order them?" Jenna looked thoughtful. "It sounded like she hoped to make them ourselves." "Wow, that'll be intense," Ellie said, surprised. "Well, maybe she'll let me help out -- I'm pretty good with a sewing machine." (

I too will quote what someone else has written: (but it's a lot shorter than wrist cutter's :p) To be no more; sad cure; for who would lose, Though full of pain, this intellectual being, Those thoughts that wander through Eternity, To perish rather ... ?

Hi Tsukasa.hack, A couple things. For one, grammar, punctuation, spelling, and capitalization are all very important in this forum. So, we'd appreciate it if you at least paid attention to them and made an effort at using them. Secondly, Recruitment threads should have a solid back story and a good description of the RPG will entail, which this one does not. Look around at other RPGs for some good examples. Also do read the rules for OB in general, plus the sticky at the top of this forum. They contain some very important information. Signups should also have some level of detail. I'm going to close this thread since this signup doesn't meet up to OB standards. You can PM me to get it reopened and edit this once you've read over the rules and reformulated your RPG. (Or, you could start another thread.) Thanks, and welcome to OB. --terra

Please keep such conversational aspects to PMs, and avoid cluttering Recruitment threads whenever possible. Then it might help others if you edited in the additional information to your first post, hiro_tsuaina, as I don't think this does justice to your original post in the Arena :). --terra

For Thanksgiving, since none of us like turkey, we have alternatives. Such as Peking duck, or last year, a "game hen." ... My mom's ideas, not really a tradition I suppose. I guess I'm just looking forward to Thanksgiving, as that's my only break in fall semester. :p

As per animangademon's request, I'm closing this thread. I might request some members who probably deviated hugely plotwise to please pay more attention next time they participate in an RPG. But as I haven't had time to read this RPG though yet, I won't. :p --terra

Turning 18 years old ... it's a lot like graduating from Newbie status to Junior Member. You think people are going to treat you differently, you think that you're going to feel different, and that things will be much better now that you've reached that turning point ... But as it turns out, you're the same person with the same amount of intelligence, you don't really have many more privileges, and if anything, it only adds to your responsibilities. ;)

I'm not sure what this is ... but I am sure it doesn't belong here. Please look around for examples of what does go in the Adventure Arena. RPGs should start with a signup sheet and general back story in the Recruitment subforum. After signups have been completed, the actual RPing begins in this forum. Grammar, spelling, and punctuation (including capitalization) are also smiled upon. Feel free to PM me with any questions. I'd advise you to reread the rules, as well as the sticky at the top of this forum. Thanks, --terra (Completely off-topic edit: this must be my fastest response time so far.)
Originally posted by animangademon I have had dreams about the OB. I had a crazy dream that terra! was after me. Every post I posted, she'd always come after me!
Hahahaha, I am truly sorry that I was the cause of a NIGHTMARE. Just kidding ... well ... I hope. At least, I hope it wasn't really a nightmare. Er, I haven't had any more OB dreams recently. At least not at night ... o.O

Sorry, I'm going to close this thread for now to avoid any more confusion. hiro_tsuaina, please check your Private Messages for a PM I sent you a little while ago. (They're located at the bottom of the main forum screen.)

Goodness knows I probably don't have time for this, but I make time for all my other RPGs, so who cares. :p Name: Ms. Greenville Age: 28 (age the picture in your mind) Gender: female Appearance: Subject you teach: Physics Weapons: pair of daggers, hidden under her skirt Race/Nationality: half white, half mysterious Asian blend Attitude: She seems sweet as sugar, always patient with her students when they don't understand a problem and very willing to redo examples on the board. In fact, she stays just that sweet all the time, right through when she pulls a dagger or two on you after class. As of yet, nobody has figured out why she targets the students she does, or if there is any pattern to it. Bio: Ms. Greenville never discusses her nationality, and in fact hates being asked about it. She is very intelligent, and always wanted to teach, loving the idea of helping others learn. Obviously, this all radically changed somehow when she actually began teaching. Nobody is quite sure why she turned diabolically evil, but some suggest it had something to do with all of the other teachers and giving into peer pressure. Regardless, she recognizes there's no turning back now, considering the rush of adrenaline she feels every time she pulls out a dagger.

"The changing clothes problem, eh?" Ellie said, pondering the question for about half a second. "Well, it wouldn't really bother me to see *your naked back* or anything like that. Or if you saw mine, for that matter. So how about I'll just knock next time I walk in, to avoid anything full frontal, and we can always just keep our backs to each other when necessary?" "Sounds good," Ken said, glad that somehow while he was passed out in the hallway he'd ended up with such a cool, cool roommate. Ellie puttered around organizing her clothes while Ken changed, each studiously facing an opposing wall. He eventually announced he was finished, and they both headed downstairs where someone was yelling rather loudly into a phone. "But that doesn't explain how you ended up in jail!" was what they heard of the tail end of the conversation. Tori hung up the phone and turned to Jenna and Jordan, who were still sitting nearby in the foyer. Ellie, by now, was all ears, and she and Ken had descended into the foyer as well. "Charles was in jail," she said, a bit unnecessarily. "He asked us to go pick him up at _____ Motel." Jenna raised an eyebrow. "That's a pretty shady motel." She shrugged and grabbed her keys off a hook by the door. "Well, I suppose there's no help for it ... let's go get him." "Are we sure we want someone living in our house who was not only in jail, but also in a sleazy motel?" Ellie said, but it was a murmur under her breath, and only Ken heard. He just laughed. "Oh, yes," he assured her. "We're all sure we want Charles living here."

Some brief messages: A) Thanks everyone! :) B) Here are the names of some of the fonts I've used in whichever banners: DNAngel / Groove Adventure Rave : Carpenter ICG (my favorite I think) Scrapped Princess (the one with the blonde girl) : Balzac on the top, LainieDaySH on the bottom the flirt Love Hina banner: also Balzac I don't remember which sites I found each font from, sorry guys ... but those are their names, hehe. C) AzureWolf, I probably would be making an Onegai Twins banner, except I haven't been keeping up with the show because I haven't watched Onegai Teacher yet. :p Oh, and I didn't know anyone liked that flirt banner! I'm glad you told me, haha. D) Wondershot, I didn't bother putting this banner up here because I figured most people would know the comic was Mother Goose and Grimm, and I just resized it. Then I realized that was probably a very USA-centric view, so ... my bad, hehe. And now it will go here. Also, here's a banner I made for Aurora Dragon a little while ago. The top font is Verticalization and the bottom one is Skyscraper. The new stuff: Here is a first attempt at a Tron Bonne banner for Arika. I think it's kind of cute, at least ... :p The quote is one I found that hopefully really is from the video game. Edit: matching av.

I like the grayscale, and the transparency effects and all that. If possible, though, I'd keep her face clean ... I think it'd just look cleaner (well, obviously) that way, and allow for a better central focus on her. Or something like that. What else ya got? :p And what program are you using?

As you can't delete threads, I'll just close this for you. May as well have a record of all you attempted to do. :)

Lissa swung her cloak around her in preparation to leave, but her movement was arrested by curiosity as the tall oak doors swung open to allow for the entrance of an imposing figure. The shadow fell so that Lissa could not see the face of whoever it might be, but the profile was not a familiar one. Fastening her cloak, Lissa turned instead to the long row of candles lining the wall of the temple, flickering and casting a gentle glow on the priestesses who were still engaged in prayer. Taking a match from the folds of her dress, she flicked it across the rough edge of the table designed to be able to light it, then held it to one of the candles. But the match blew out before the wick took flame, and she stood holding the useless match to the candle for a moment longer. There had been no wind. Lissa tossed aside the match and strode quickly towards the door, deciding almost angrily that she would not let these odd events throw off the easy pleasures she'd designed for herself today. Just before she left the temple, though, she felt a hand on her elbow. "Lady Salome," she said with a nod of greeting, recognizing, now that she was at close quarters, who the visitor to the temple was.

I like the borders you did for both the banner and the avi a lot. Nice job on them, especially compared to the first incarnation :p. It's all very ... you, for some reason, and I think it fits really well. The "Baron" text looks a teeny bit out of place (but I just dislike names on banners in general, so never mind). I feel like a gray color might work better. Even so, I really do like them, and think they are very appropriate to you. :p

I could definitely see it being the creation of a 21-year-old guy, somehow. Random storyline ... random hot girl with big guns ... one guy with a huge cool sword who gets to go around beating people up ... Yeah. I'll be sure to finish watching the series when I have time ... (which is never)
