1. Christian pounded on the door again, harder and louder this time. His normally cheerful face was clouded by a scowl. Finally, the door creaked open. "What took you so long?" Christian bit out as he pushed past Arika. Arika raised her eyebrows and indicated the headset that was at her ear. "I'm on the phone," she said. "With who?" Christian said irritably. "You'd better not be gossiping about the latest pop star or something trivial like that. Didn't you feel it?" He plopped down on the couch in her living room. "Of course I felt it," Arika replied, trying to resist the urge to snap right back at Christian. "I'm talking to Destiny about it right now." "Well, tell her to get over here," Christian retorted, brushing away a piece of hair that was in his face. He paused and took a deep breath, trying to calm down. "Sorry," he said at last, looking up. "I'm not used to feeling like my soul was just dipped in cold black ink. It threw me a bit. Whatever just happened, we've got to do something about it." Arika nodded. "I know," she said, and turned back to her phone conversation with Destiny.
2. Hey Takuya, I have a quick question before I start RPG'ing it up. Is our primary goal to find a new place to live, or stop the evil from coming to Earth? Or some combination of the two? Just want to be sure :)

Two Worlds

My signup: Name: Talayeh Omoro Age: 18 Fraternity: Corvus Rank: Member Ability: Elements (can control the elements of nature when she's around them. Obviously, doesn't include human-made stuff like ... a building of bricks :-P) Personal Description: In human form, she's tall, really thin, and dark-skinned. Her hair is black and she usually leaves it alone, so it can get tangled and messy at times. In true form, her hair turns white and she grows much more muscular, but still looks pretty much like a human. Bio: (I picked to be Sage's character's sister ... but if anyone has a problem with this I wouldn't mind changing my info.) Talayeh ran away from her family and village in South Africa when she was six years old because she had recognized her own element powers then. She was concerned about her family's safety and thought it would be better if she left them alone, since she considered herself a "freak." That was, of course, before she began having dreams of universes collapsing and other people like her, her brothers and sisters. She still doesn't know what these dreams mean but she has been travelling through Africa, Europe, and Asia for twelve years, searching for answers. She has never been to school and so can't read or write, but she's very smart and skilled, especially from living on her own for so long.

Yeah, I think it gets pretty horrible around episode 16 (which is probably the second season you're talking about, they don't differentiate on my DVD). They all start wearing these different outfits and Omi's is quite scandalous. Okay, I'll stop talking about it because I don't want to ruin it for you :-P But the first season is fun!
5. I agree Banzai is quite stupid, tasteless, and disgusting most of the time. But their celebrity clips were pretty hilarious. For one of them they had this girl ask Simon from American Idol a question and then just stand there while he gave his answer. He kept being like, "Well, that's it," and she just stood there pointing her mic into his face. (They also tried to see how long they could shake Kelsey Grammar's hand.)
6. I loved this movie a ton, like most of the other people in this thread. As for things having to do with the Disney ride, I think someone meant this when they said the "part with the guys and the dog," but I definitely remember the part where a few drunken guys are lying against a few barrels and alcohol is pouring all over them. --> both in the ride and in the movie. That was a dense sentence. Did anyone else think it was funny when
Johnny Depp and Barbossa (the bad guy) were both zombies and yet they were still swordfighting? It'd be like, "AH! I totally stabbed you and you're not dead. Let's keep fighting pointlessly anyway!" Well it was really cool to see them darting in and out of moonlight and turning back and forth from skeletons to human, so I'm not complaining. I just thought they should've just been like, "We can't kill each other. Let's just hang out and watch the other battles."
The showing I saw also had a preview for The Haunted Mansion, another Disney film based on a ride. It's interesting how they take like a ten-minute ride and can create an entire story from it. (I think Haunted Mansion will fare much worse though ...) [edit] Ah, and my last point -- Orlando Bloom just looked hilarious at the end. I thought he could've been much cuter throughout the movie ;)
7. As you can probably tell from my post count, I've never done an RPG here before. But I'd love this to be my first :-) Name: Christian Age: 26 Gender: male Description: Short black hair that grows too quickly. Almost always seen wearing khaki pants and a button-down with the first few buttons open -- he switches the colors up to match his mood. Bio: He's a pretty cheerful and open guy most of the time, but he doesn't like talking about his past much. The others have been able to figure out, though, that he and his sister were brought up by foster parents. His sister didn't have any elemental powers, even though she is other-dimensional. She was able to stay in a normal human school, but he was discovered and kicked out when he caused all the lights to short out during a test. He has a passion for reading and writing and can often be seen writing in a small green notebook. He has a good handle on his powers and tries to use them as little as possible. Element: Electricity

Well if you *do* plan to resurrect this one ... I have it as well, it was the first anime I ever became obsessed with. Actually I run a fansite on it but don't want to risk spamming with a link, so you can PM me if you're interested :-) I couldn't help making a site on it. It's so bad ... yet so good. What are your questions?
9. I don't particularly mind being a newbie. Although part of me is resigned to it because I don't think I will ever get past newbie status, since I just don't post much :-P But having newbie status does make me kind of shy about certain things, like posting in RPG forums. I feel like since I don't have much experience on the board, it might just make my RPG stuff look ... amateurish.
10. I'm doubling in biochemistry and english. I started out with no idea and sort of ended up taking a lot of classes that would fit the biochemistry major, so I'm going to finish that up :-P but I decided I wasn't really that interested in it, so I picked up the english major as well. I'm taking summer classes right now to catch up on the english major, actually ... hopefully it'll be worth it in the end!
11. some information on the relation of Big O, Batman, and Cowboy Bebop is at this review site: http://www.scifi.com/sfw/issue206/screen2.html it's pretty interesting. basically Big O and Bebop are/were both coprojects of Sunrise and Bandai. and Sunrise did some of the animation for Batman. I think the relationships between the three are pretty obvious ... but they're all cool and different in their own ways, too :-) I'm glad they brought Big O back. like otakusennen said, I heard Big O was actually pretty unpopular in Japan, but it's doing pretty well on adult swim :-P
12. I switch between thinking hamtaro is so ridiculously cute I couldn't help but watch it, and thinking it's so ridiculously cute that it's incredibly annoying :-P but anyway, hamtaro is on cartoon network so if you want to look at an episode guide or the characters you can always check their website. http://www.cartoonnetwork.com/watch/tv_shows/hamtaro/
13. I've always thought message boards were kind of strange actually ... which is one reason I have, like, 5 posts right now. (ok I've also been registered for a really short time, but I was browsing the boards for a long time before that.) anyway, I think they're strange because so often they're just polls of like, "what's your favorite ____?" and does anyone really care what anybody else's favorite ____ is? well, probably some people do, which is why message boards can thrive. anyway ... so I usually only reply if I think the conversation is interesting and someone might actually benefit from what I have to say. this may be the exception :-P [edit: word choice]
14. this is a blonde joke, though I have nothing against blondes. a blonde and a redhead are watching the news, and it's showing this guy who's on a ledge on a building, threatening suicide. the redhead says, "I bet you ten bucks he jumps!" the blonde says, "fine, you're on." the guy on the news jumps, and the blonde is disappointed, but gives the redhead the ten dollars. the redhead then says, "you know what, keep your money, I feel guilty. this happened earlier today, and I saw it on the news before and knew he was going to jump." the blonde says, "why should you feel guilty? I saw that too, and I felt *sure* he wouldn't jump again!!"
15. I don't know about the rest of you, but I thought the original smash bros. (for n64) was better than the gamecube one. perhaps this is just because I was better at the original one, though ... anyway, I thought the levels in the gamecube one were a little too busy, and I always hated when the levels could make you die (like in the n64 one, the level when you could fall into the fire and die that way ... ok it's been a little while). so I like it when they keep the levels a little simpler, so you can focus on your fighting. and, as someone said before, a level editor would be really awesome!
16. my parents just had an attack from flying ants ... in the middle of the night. my dad got up and sprayed them all with pesticide and vacuumed them up, I think. on the topic of bug infestation, we moved into a new house some five years ago, we were SWARMED by ladybugs the first fall. we had this very high ceiling and I swear it was practically covered with ladybugs, it was really disgusting. they were crawling on top of each other and stuff ... we used the vacuum system that was built in to the house and vacuumed all the ones we could reach. then we worried for the longest time that they might be alive in the garage, where the vacuum ended, and just breeding there. but they weren't. ... yep ... so ants, huh? the vacuum is key in getting rid of them, in my opinion. and, of course, the cleanliness that many others mentioned :-P.
17. those of you who were sad about trigun ... CN is bringing it back. check adultswim.com, then go to shows, then, well, trigun. (right now they're featuring it with a huge picture of vash, so I'd doubt they were cancelling it completely :-P) they have a schedule of the episodes they're going to show. it looks like they're starting with episode 1 again on july 6. hopefully they're running it completely through this time ...
