1. Thanks for the comments, guys. I made the following YGO banners for SJchan. Sorry dear, they were the subject of experimentation. If you want a more ... "normal" one, I can do that too :) The second is my favorite. If you want one of these, post something, and then I can post it as an attachment for you :) I'm also giving dayday the Elie banner and avatar, so here's the banner attached for you, dayday.
2. I searched on "banned" and checked through the rules, so if someone else has posted something this and I missed it, I'm sorry :). Anyway, to my suggestion. Sometimes when I see a member with the definitive "Banned" above their avatar, I get very curious as to, er, exactly what they did to get banned. This is less interesting to me when it's someone with 5-10 posts. But when it's someone with over 1000 posts who's been here for a long time, I have to wonder just what happened, and if I could screw up as badly as they seem to have done to get banned after such a long time of being at the boards. This may be some sort of invasion of privacy, but I was wondering if there could be some sort of short description on why members who were banned got banned? Simple categories, like, "Banned: spamming", "Banned: vulgar language", or things along those lines. As much as it seems this is only to satisfy my evil curiosity :p, I think it could also help to see just what people got banned for, even though guidelines are clearly stated in the rules. It might pack that extra ... in-your-face punch ... or something.
3. Crystal stalked her small post, wishing it was in her to growl. She didn't understand how none of the other guards felt the same frustration that she did. God, some of them even felt honored to be watchbirds for the already-undetectable floating island. She was only doing it with the hopes that her skills and "patience" would be noticed someday, and she might be promoted to something that was actually interesting. Crystal checked her watch. An hour more, and she would be free of this duty. Her wings unfolded silently from her back, shadowing her figure from the moonlight. She glided easily to another post for a different vantage point of the island. It was beautiful from the soft glitter of the stars; lush vegetation and perfect pools of water covered it, a suitable dwelling for hundreds of bird-clones. Crystal wondered to herself how anybody could live underground as the rest of the clones did, though she was curious to see what it was like. Thoughts tended to wander during the long hours of the watch, and Crystal found herself imagining what it would be like to live underground, to meet clones who were not birds, to be exposed to a whole different kind of life. It was time to move again. She flew back to her original position and tried to pay attention to her surroundings.
4.
Originally posted by WW2 Personally I think converting any good anime series into a live action movie, is a very bad idea. This is because that in this translation you lose the elements that made the anime so great. No actor, special effect, or camera effect can replicate the feeling of seeing your favorite stories animated.
I agree. Animation is just such a different media than live movies with real actors. I mean ... you will never find a guy as hot-yet-goofy-yet-suave as Vash. Nor can a real life actor catching donuts while evading machine guns have the same hilarious effect as a cartoon guy doing it. I think that live-action efforts of animated series are pretty darn amusing, though, for that very reason. Like, real-life girls seldom fill out cute little police outfits as well as animated girls ... but it's funny to see them try. ;) Hm, I suppose that was kind of cruel.

The doctor looked very serious when he told me and said he would be keeping an eye on it, so I went in for a couple more tests, extremely worried. About ten years later I am perfectly fine, exercise/eat whenever/whatever I want, etc. As many other people have said, they very seldom develop into anything serious.
6. I desperately need a break from my work, so I'm back. --------------- Rydia shook her head as if trying to clear it. Suddenly everything seemed to be happening a bit fast. She had been here for two weeks with hardly anything happening to her, then within the space of one day she had met a few ... friends? ... and learned that she was to be on the offensive of something called Operation Fate. Not only that, they would be heading towards the Civil Grounds, where Mist had once stood ... Abruptly, Rydia turned, feeling a sudden need for fresh air. She left the underground headquarters with a small nod to the guards and stepped out into the broad fields that surrounded the Battalion. She walked forward into the welcome emptiness of nature, desperate to get away from the busy military politics and be alone with her thoughts. Rydia sighed and sunk down into the grass on her knees. The Village of Mist ... Rydia had been avoiding the thought of her home village, first by running from Kelost's troops, then by battling whomever or whatever she had encountered, and finally by joining the Ramza Battalion. Of course, she knew the Battalion would be no escape from her past. She should've, and had, predicted that one day she might visit other villages who were being pressed upon by the Empire, just like hers ... But if her village elders had considered this cause worthwhile enough to die for, she, too, would do battle to the death. Although their deaths had been nearly pointless ... Rydia stood up again. If she were going on the Offensive, her Summoning skills might finally come in handy. She hadn't been able to practice any spells for a couple of weeks, as it was hardly appropriate to call upon Bahamut or Titan while you were in a hidden underground base. In fact, she suspected that she'd been accepted into Ramza more on the basis of her rather mediocre skills wielding her staff, as nobody had ever actually seen her Summon anything yet. Could she even Summon anymore? She shook off the thought. Of course she could. She was from Mist. She flicked briefly through the spells that she could do in her mind. What the hell could she practice? Practically nothing, unless she wanted a Tidal Wave to pour over the headquarters. Rydia rolled her eyes as she settled on a Summon -- this would hardly be practice. Nonetheless ... She rolled her hands through the air with a practiced grace, lifting them gently to the sky, murmuring a few inaudible words. "Mogri," she whispered. After a few moments, she frowned. Nothing had happened. She repeated the motions, this time speaking a little bit louder. After a little bit of waiting, the little white moogle sped out from behind the trees and stood in front of her, whimpering. "Mogri, why didn't you come the first time?" Rydia said, slightly exasperated. "You can't just ignore--" "Kupo, kuuupopo," the moogle interrupted her, sounding just as exasperated. Rydia narrowed her eyes. His purpose was clear. "I'm going, Mogri. I have to. This is my job now. You don't think it's a worthy cause, trying to save other people's lives?" She spoke to convince herself as much as to convince him. Mogri looked unhappy and spoke again. "Are you trying to warn me that something bad will happen? Then just tell me what!" Rydia said. Mogri merely stood, silent. Rydia jerked her head away from him, refusing to look at him anymore. "Just leave," she said. "You're being no help if you're just going to stay as mysterious as that." Mogri backed away slowly, looking upset. Then he turned tail and fled back into the forest from which he had came. Rydia ran a hand through her hair uneasily. Mogri's second attempt at warning her was not comforting for the upcoming journey.
7. So ... having never been to an anime convention, nor read up on them, I actually have no idea what goes on there. Well, I've heard something like, anime showings and big anime personas ... or something. Anyone care to enlighten me?
8.
Originally posted by Charles Beer, for example, is one of the ultimate carb sources. Hence, the dreaded "beer belly."
I'm quite sure this is true, and I would not encourage drinking either. But one of my friends (although I think he was a little tipsy at the time) told me that he'd examined a beer bottle and a soda can, and according to him, soda had three times the calories. ... I'm too lazy to go check. Anyway. I'm in okay shape, especially for all the strenuous sitting in front of the computer that I do, but this summer I've been supposedly trying to work out every other day, alternating between swimming and running. I tried to lift weights and stuff like that for a while, too, but that slowly fell off ... [grumbles] I should get back to that. I've completely given up on diets because I just love food too much :) So, I've also kind of given up on ever losing weight, which is okay. The only problem is that my boyfriend is ridiculously skinny (kind of like James and Change, he never gains weight, but unlike them he never works out ...). The last time he weighed himself he was like five pounds more than I am. If he ever weighs less than I do I will have serious self-confidence problems. :p
9. Wow. I think this is a kick-... butt idea. [Edit: Updated/changed stuff. Too many cats about ;).] Name: Crystal Yumiro Age: 12 Race: Eagle Special Ability/ies: Keen eyes, foldable wings with which she can fly. Weapons: A crossbow, daggers, martial arts training. Bio: Crystal has attained the rather boring position of a Guard for the Bird Dwelling, which is nearly pointless since the island is undetectable by humans. It's generally acknowledged that she has enough powers to become a Sighter, but she is still considered a little too young and immature for that, which she resents greatly. Since she feels like her talents are as yet untapped, she spends a great deal of her time in the practice rooms, working on her weaponry skills. Occupation: Guard for the Bird Dwelling.
10. Rydia filed out of the enormous Briefing Room with the rest of the masses. Just outside, one small man, a Calculator she assumed, was posting up lists of who would be part of which campaign. Rydia raised her eyebrows as almost every member of the Battalion who had not been given a list inside rushed to the lists to see where they were assigned, nearly trampling the poor Calculator in the process. She sighed, and contemplated pushing and shoving among them to see where she was assigned. Not worth it. Rydia instead headed for the girls' dormitory, and was shortly aware of the occurrence of very high decibel levels behind her. It was the group of giggling girls, who were quickly becoming infamous among all the ranks for their high-pitched voices alone. Rydia smiled uncomfortably as they caught up to her, expecting them to pass her. "Oh, Rydia, you're so LUCKY!" gushed one of the blondes, whom Rydia dimly remembered was named Crimson, or something. No, Scarlet, that was it. "Lucky?" Rydia said. "Why?" "Didn't you see the lists???" Scarlet said, aghast. "How could you not have looked?? Especially you, I can't believe it!!" Rydia's head was beginning to hurt from excessive italics. "Just what didn't I see?" she asked. "Why, you're on the offensive, my dear girl!" Scarlet screeched. "And not only that -- with Lieutenant Leo Tantosen!!!" As if on cue, all of the giggling girls sighed. Rydia looked at them and wondered if they weren't a little insane. "Leo?" she said. "Well, that's nice." "THAT'S NICE???" Scarlet said, almost outraged. Rydia tried to discreetly rub her forehead. "Leo is sooo cute! You're sooo lucky. We all got put on the defensive." Murmurs of affirmation and nods from the other girls. Rydia tried not to roll her eyes, seeing the perfect logic in keeping them all close to the Battallion headquarters. Any legion with them in it wouldn't have a chance of a sneak attack. Not to mention the rather larger problem that all the soldiers near them would go crazy. Nonetheless, they were generally harmless. "I'm sorry," Rydia said sincerely. She tried to think of a reason not to return to the dorms with them. "I think I'll go check the lists for myself now, if you don't mind," she said, and started walking in the opposite direction of them. "You know, make sure it's not some wonderful dream," she added over her shoulder. When she'd reached the lists the Calculator had posted, she had to scan for quite a while before finding her name. Indeed, there it was, under Leo's name. Rydia smiled.

12.
Originally posted by wild thang why get a back tattoo? i love tattoos and ive even designed a complicated one that i am going to get, but i want one where i can see it. thats just me.
Mm, I don't have a tattoo but I can think of a couple reasons, basically the ones my friend came up with when she got a sun tattooed on her lower back. For one, people can only see it when you want them to (i.e. when you take off your shirt/wear a bathing suit/whatever), which can be convenient if you ever go into a very businesslike environment and want to hide that wild part of yourself for a while. Secondly, the back is one part of your body that you can be pretty sure won't stretch (I think ...?). So you don't have to worry about it looking strange or changing too much as you grow older.
13. "Nothing at all," Christian said, and shifted closer to Destiny on the bed. She looked up at him with knowing eyes, and he leaned forward and they shared a deep kiss ... "Christian?" Destiny said, looking at him strangely. Christian realized his eyes had probably glazed over from the force of his imagination and he laughed nervously. "Yeah! Um, nothing wrong," he said. He couldn't help it if his imagination was running away with him. Life was getting much more complicated, what with his and Destiny's sudden connection, not to mention demons popping up all over the place. Demons! The thought brought Christian back to the present, and reminded him of a memory that had been itching to be processed for some time now. "Destiny," he said slowly, "did your mother ever tell you stories?" "Stories?" Destiny repeated. "What are you talking about?" "I don't know, like fairy tales," Christian replied. "One thing my mother always used to tell me about was this ancient myth about why we came to Earth." "We?" Destiny said. "People like us," Christian said. "Element-users. She said that we used to have a place to call home, something more than this world. But one day something horrible had come, a darkness that sent out its minions, a few at first and then more ... More and more until they'd taken over the whole planet. She said that we'd had to run away, with the darkness pursuing our heels." Christian fell silent, a faraway look settled over his features. Then his eyes snapped back to Destiny's. "Is that it?" he asked her. "Is that why all of these demons have been popping up? Whatever came to that planet ... is it coming here?" Destiny shuddered. "Do you think that that story is true?" she said. Christian shrugged. "I don't know," he said. "She always used to end it with a little laugh, and assure me it was a bedtime story ... But it seems to be coming true ..." OOC: I wasn't sure ... do we know why this stuff is going on? If we do, then this post makes no sense :D But I thought we were still trying to figure things out.
14. Rydia's thoughts were gentle as she finally caught the butterfly in between her fingers. Rydia smiled to feel the softness of its gossamer wings as they beat against her fingers. She let the butterfly go in her surprise when a small white creature popped out from behind a tree. "Mogri?" she said. "Kupo!" the little moogle hissed, and looked behind her with apprehension. Rydia glanced back as well, and saw Leo and Arik in conversation. Knowing how shy the moogles were, Rydia chuckled and reassured him, "Oh, don't worry about them." The moogle didn't seem to take her words to heart, though, staying warily half-hidden behind the tree. "Kupo kuppopo," it said, and though Rydia didn't understand the words, she felt some undercurrent of alarm run through her. The tiny moogle looked agitated, as if it was trying to warn her of something. She didn't know exactly what moogles did in their spare time or what magical secrets they knew; they weren't what you'd call an open species. But though they were fiercely private, they were friendly with some humans, and Rydia had always felt a special kinship and trust for Mogri. "What's wrong, Mogri?" she asked, lowering her voice unconsciously. "What is it?" The moogle opened its mouth, but then cast a final frightening look towards her and disappeared behind the tree. Rydia heard footsteps and turned to see Leo and Arik just behind her. "Are you ready for the military briefing?" Leo asked. "It's just about time." Rydia sighed and stood. She desperately wanted to know what Mogri had been trying to warn her of, but by now she knew he was surely back in hiding in the forest. "Yes, let's go," she said.
15. Christian grabbed his shirt, threw it on, and ran out of Destiny's house with more than a little apprehension. He hadn't actually fought a demon on his own ... well ... since they started popping up, and it was weird to finally be alone. Without even a weapon. He fleetingly wished Ken's gunblade or even Destiny's staff, just to have something in his hands that he could hit with. He didn't have to look far for the demon. This one was in the form of a rather oversized snake, and Christian spotted it slithering in front of the house next door to Destiny's. The shriek, unfortunately, seemed to have come from the human woman who was cornered by the snake. "Don't move!" Christian shouted as he jumped the fence of the house and ran towards the snake. Pulling his fist back, he closed his eyes and electricity jolted through his body. The snake hissed and turned, and Christian nearly fell over, because its eyes were a familiar hideous bright blue ... Shaking off the strange feeling, Christian grabbed the snake by the neck and plunged his fist forward into the snake's head. The electricity he'd stored up shot through both his hands and into the snake's body, which jolted and jerked desperately as it was electrocuted. Christian let go at last, and the snake dropped to the ground. Christian looked over to the human woman. She had fainted dead away. "Maybe she'll think it was a dream," Christian muttered as he hurried back to Destiny's house. She was waiting for him, still dressed only in her tiny pajamas, but thankfully she'd pulled a robe around them so that he wasn't quite so distracted. "What happened?" she asked the second he neared her. Christian described the fight briefly. "How are you feeling?" he asked. "Are you any more rested?"
16. Maya followed Ashtari, slightly uncomfortable with the dog-man Kish riding on the horse behind her. She felt like she could trust him, though. After all, he had leapt off the horse to protect Ashtari. After a few moments of silence, Kish spoke. Kish: I guess we haven't really been properly introduced. My name is Kish, and I'm a loyal friend of Ashtari's. Maya: I'm Maya, Ashtari's new apprentice. So where did you two ... meet? Kish: In the village of Histrina. She was battling a company of thieves who were coming to raid the village, and I jumped in to help her. The rest is history. Maya: Wow. That sounds like fun. Kish: Heh. I guess. They rode on for another little while without talking. Maya decided that since Kish had taken the initiative last time, it was probably her turn. She spoke quietly, not wanting the man riding with Ashtari to hear. Maya: Can you believe Ashtari was willing to trust that assassin so easily? Kish: Ashtari has reasons for everything she does. We should trust her, and because of that, we should trust the assassin. Maya: ... I guess you're right. It's still a little creepy, with him riding right behind her like that all the way. I mean ... what if he made a move or something?? Kish looked at Maya in surprise, then laughed. Maya: What?? Kish: I'm just surprised at how precocious you are, for someone so young. Maya: I'm thirteen years old! I know what's going on in the world. Kish laughed again. Kish: Then you'd better watch out for Xanthus, I think. Maya: Ashtari's brother? Why? Kish: No reason. ------------ OOC: I didn't want to write too much because I don't know what oekakiotaku wants to do with Kish ...
17. Hey Shippo :) I think for your first couple banners those are coming out really nicely! Kaola Su is right, you do cut out the pictures very well. Everyone is also right, keep experimenting with Photoshop, like try being creative and think of new stuff to do with banners. Not that I can ... it's tough :( But keep up the banner-making, good job!
18. Aw ... you drew two eyes for each of them, and everything! ;) What I enjoy the most (strangely, perhaps) is the rumpled look of their clothes, esp. the pants of the guy in the front. It's quite detailed and impressive. The top left guy's expression and thumbs-up are really cute! I think the bottom right guy's face could use a little more definition, though. I'm starting to really like these original characters of yours :)
19. I'd like to be the last :) Name: Christian Yumino Element: wind Age: unknown Gender: Male Race: Elf Bio: Christian lives in a small elven village and has always known about his powers with wind. He was the only one of this kind in his village, so for a time people looked upon him in fear. But he always knew in his heart that he was meant to be a warrior, and therefore trained in martial arts as well. He seized upon the chance to fight against the first wave of Kalanari, and returned to the village a hero. He will not shirk his duty when the Kalanari return. Appearance: Longish light brown hair, dark brown eyes. Thin and tall, with a look of nobility. Usually wears a silvery-gray outfit. Abilities: Using wind elemental powers, can basically "fly" by causing himself to coast on wind. Can also help others coast on wind too, and do the typical wind stuff like create typhoons, etc.
20. Christian was unsure of exactly what to do with himself once he got to Destiny's house. Although, he had to admit, he was secretly congratulating himself for getting there at all. Those were some smooth lines he'd dropped. Destiny left him in the living room while she went to her bedroom to get ready for bed. It was extremely late, and though he hadn't stopped time or anything, Christian was getting pretty exhausted himself. He sat on the couch, trying to resist the urge to pry into Destiny's things while she was doing ... whatever she was doing. Finally realizing he was desperately thirsty, Christian helped himself to a glass of water from the kitchen, and poured an extra one. He walked upstairs, unfamiliar with the surroundings. "Destiny?" he called out, and she walked out of her bedroom. "What are you doing up here?" she asked. She didn't sound as annoyed with him as she usually did, though. "I just thought you might like a glass of water," Christian said, offering it to him. Destiny smiled and took it. "I'm pretty exhausted," she said, as they both stood awkwardly on the landing of the stairs for a few moments. "I guess I should just go to bed." "Me, too," Christian said. "I can sleep on the couch." "I'll get you a blanket," Destiny said, and was back in a minute with a soft pink fleece. Christian took it with a raised eyebrow, and Destiny laughed. "So, Destiny," Christian said. "About that kiss when we were fighting the demon --" "I told you," she cut him off impatiently, "it was necessary." "I know it was necessary," Christian said. "But was that all?" Destiny hesitated. Realizing she probably didn't quite trust him yet, Christian hastened to say, "Because, well, I kind of liked it, personally." Destiny looked away and a smile crossed her face. "I guess I kind of liked it, too," she said. They were both silent. Christian was at a loss for words. Not knowing what else to do, he leaned forward and gently dropped a kiss on her cheek. "Good night, Destiny," he said, and went back downstairs to sleep curled up in the fuzzy pink fleece. Destiny looked after him for a moment, then retreated to her room. They had no idea how long they'd slept when an unearthly shriek awoke them both.
21. Thanks guys :) Ah, how I love comments. *coughs* It's tough gettin' no love. Anyway, here is something I made for oekakiotaku. Actually, I just meant to start playing around and then I sort of finished. It's Aya, from Weiss Kreuz.
22. Mm. The third guy is pretty hot. Love that open shirt. Maybe you could put in a hint of that eye that's hidden by his hair, though ... at the moment he just looks ... like he only has one eye. Like, maybe we could just see a corner of his eye peeking out :) Go with your style on the sloping shoulders thing, but I agree with Demonic Angel, the first one's shoulders a bit too slope-y. The other two's shoulders are fine, though. And of course I can never draw original characters so I'm impressed :) Nice job!
23. Rydia swallowed and kept her head up as she walked away from the ebullient ?Little Ted,? possibly one of the most interesting misnomers she?d heard so far. It wasn?t that she was scared of the incredibly busy Ramza Battalion cafeteria, or anything. Of course not. She was just ? new. And, she reasoned with herself, it was always hard to start something new, particularly when it involved what seemed like thousands of other people who were all, well, warriors ? Rydia shook her head clear of her thoughts and looked around for somewhere to sit. The place was incredibly busy, as usual. She wished fleetingly that she knew more people in this battalion, particularly more girls. Sometimes she felt like there was so much testosterone in the place that she might absorb some of it by accident. She glanced around and saw a table full of girls, who were giggling and screeching in tones that should?ve broken her glass of orange juice into pieces. Even Rydia did not want female company that badly. Sighing, Rydia headed for a table that had just been abandoned by a group of ninjas who were still exchanging battle stories. There was still someone sitting there, but it was impossible to find a perfectly empty table anyway. Rydia compromised by sitting down as far away from him as possible. She examined her bowl full of mush. Interesting. ? Was that ? an ear?! ?It?s not that bad,? a voice came from across the table. ?Trust me.? Rydia looked up at the other person occupying her table. ?Look, I finished mine,? he said, tipping his empty bowl for her to see. ?I?m alive.? He grinned. Rydia smiled, trying to mask her shyness with politeness, and took a sip of the so-called Moogle?s Delight. She swallowed. And grimaced. ? ?Not that bad?? ? she questioned him, an eyebrow raised. The man laughed and held out his hand. ?I?m Leo,? he said, sliding over to sit across from her. Shaking his hand, she replied, ?I?m Rydia.? ?New here?? Leo said. ?I haven?t seen you around.? ?Yeah, I just got here a couple of weeks ago, and I still feel like I haven?t quite settled in,? she answered. Just then, she caught sight of his Lieutenant?s medal and was shocked into a nervous silence. She was only a private ? Were privates even allowed to talk to Lieutenants? ? ?Well, you?ll fall in soon enough,? Leo responded with a smile. ?It?s a welcoming place, really.? Avoiding the ear in her bowl as she took another spoonful of her mush, Rydia hoped he spoke the truth.
24. Hi Juna, I've been looking in this post for a while impressed with all the banners you're making, but haven't posted. Then I remembered how sad I am that nobody posts in my banner thread ;), so I decided to finally tell you, as you know, that your banners are amazing. Anyway, my current favorites are the two Daisukes right after the Faye banner on this page ... not only because he is so HOT, but also b/c they're so very stylish :). The second one (that says "juna" and has crosshatching) is my favorite, b/c I love crosshatching ... but the first one is also nice since it's so clear. I kind of wish you'd kept Daisuke's red hair though, although the banner colors go better with them both black. On the last one (Daisuke/Dark with Uizu) I think the lines leading over to Uizu should be straighter. [EDIT: and now they are. :D] Also, the white blocks leading over to him are a little distracting, even though they're the same as the other white block ... I think the long white block needs some text, and the other white blocks should have something in them, maybe just some random faded background so it doesn't break up the banner quite so much. Overall I'm always impressed with the unique shapes you give your banners. Sometimes I think that they're a little busy since you put so many people on them ... maybe you might want to try a couple simpler ones? Anyway, overall great work. Keep it up. Sorry for the essay.
25. Like Azurewolf, my immediate goal is to not fail college. Oh wait, that wasn't his goal exactly ... (Azurewolf, where do you go to college? I used to live in NJ ... :D) Anyway, what I really want to do in life is become a writer. Unfortunately, I also don't want to starve. My current plan is to go into publishing after college and see what happens from there ... Although you can also starve if you go into publishing ... [puzzled look] Eh. We'll see what happens. Oh yeah, web design would be cool, too (that's actually what my summer job is :D).
