Three Favorite/ least favorite Teen Movies
DeadSeraphim replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in Noosphere
I'm always partial to Not Another Teen Movie. It takes so many plot devices from other teen comedy flicks and points out how absurd they really are. And it does it in style. ;) Hmm... Ferris Bueller's Day Off is also a good teen flick, even if its dated. There is some classic moments in that film, but a combination of tiredness and not-fresh-in-my-mindness has erased them all from my brain. The scene where he
picks up his girlfriend, whlst posing as her Dad, and gives her a full faced pash infront of the principal
sticks out in my mind though. Thats about the only teen flicks I like that. the American Pie series never real did it for me, and most of the teen 'comedies' you see advertised are as predictable as anything.
I may be wrong, but I don't think you're aloud to bring back several month old threads. You could start it over again in the Adventure Inn and just take all the posts from the thread and make them part of the base story. Or you can just start it over again from the original base story, it's up to you ^_^.[/i']
I believe RPs are the exception to the rule. Besides, if you started it all over again from Adventure Inn, people would sign up that don't understand the characters or how to manipulate their personality, and would screw up your whole RP. And you'd have to think how big your openning post would be... *shudder*

Discuss Frasibility of an RPG setting: Sho'gun
DeadSeraphim replied to ColourDeaf's topic in Theater
Its actually considered very bad ettiquette to call them aborigines... I think the 'politically correct' term is aboriginals... but thats irrelevant to this discussion. Okay, you've spoken of South America, but not really gone into much detail. It seems like you conveniantly glazed over the existence of the Aztecs and Incas, lol. Basically, the only reference I could glean from it was zealous religious practices (human sacrifice). I like the way the Nipponese nation is so traditional, and how the honour system still works after thousands of years, but the only mention you made of any technology was in the Sumei matches and ninjas. Reading the description of the country I was given the distinct impression they were technologically retarded, lol. The concepts of ninjas is a fun one, and you could work some interesting plot devices into an RP using them. The Cathay country is intriguing, I like the way it is presented so technologically advanced and truly democratic initially, but then goes into detail about the gangs and its seedy underbelly. Reading through the description for this one though, with its nightclubs, fashion and meaty descriptions of music, it just seemed to further reinforce that Nipponese is technologically retarded. I know this might not be the case, but thats how I read it, heh. -
My main problem with it is it sounds like you've ripped it straight from a play guide.
The bow-using Amazon has a few important skills that she needs to be particularly efficient with. Magic Arrow is the most important and is an essential early level skill. It creates a surprise magic arrow. Interestingly, the higher skill point you have in it the more damage it does and the cheaper it is until by level 12, it?s free. It is a handy default attack for this character. Cold Arrow is also a vital skill. Freezing attacks are one of the most useful attack types in the game, and piking off a rampaging horde can certainly dictate the tempo of battle to your advantage[/size']
I mean... come one man. People don't need to know at what level they get free Magic Arrow. And if you did open this where it worked with levels and whatnot, it'd be a nightmare negotiating experience and skill trees. I think the characters could still work though, in an RP setting, and they could still use some skills from the game. But it just seems unnecesarry to have so much irrelevant information which will, ultimately, drive people off because it makes the RP seem needlessly complex. Having said that, the concept's good, and the plot, and could work well if executed correctly. Good luck man.

Discuss Frasibility of an RPG setting: Sho'gun
DeadSeraphim replied to ColourDeaf's topic in Theater
It reminds me a bit of Final Fantasy VIII, to some degree, but only in the fact that there is an entire (presumabley powerful) country cut off from the rest of the world.
I think it was Esther that filled that role in FFVIII.
The world seems rather well-made, and I'm wondering what the plot would be. Mayhap an expedition to the New World? Or a large scale uprising from the Celtic States, maybe. I dunno. Its your RP, after all, heh. I think you'd need more detail about the countries first though. While the information provided now is satisfactory for an outline, it seems almost likely that it wouldn't just be 'the Chinese-in Europe'. Given more space, and about 2000 years to expand, their culture may be different. -
Imi, you should open it through IE to run it... ANYWAY it was funny as, dude. And the bit after the credits was pretty cool. 'Wait... no, get that eraser away from me'. XD I also heard your accent :o. AtakuBoards indeed. Yay for the new. New is good. New is great. New is exceedingly sexy. Go the new. ;)

Here you go. Its hard working with pictures so narrow, heh, but I (somehow) pulled it off. Yayz! I finally wrote another poem. Its about being on a sugar high. You know... when you have soooo much sugar that you feel like you're high. That kind of high. But I took a few artistic liberties with the concept. Enjoy. Coke I'm sitting in my chair I'm feeling quite insane My hands are running through my hair My friends say I'm a pain But I'm on a fucking sugar high There's nothing I can do The caffeine's convinced me I can fly And I'm looking down on you But now I'm starting to descend My brain is going dead This sugar high is about to end Lights flick off in my head But never shall I relent to this! I won't let the sugar win I take another sip of my coke And begin to soar again

Okay, I've never really made an RP before (well... not a good one) so I thought I'd try my hand at creating one, heh. Basically, Painful Paradise is a 'tournament style' RP set in Ancient Rome, with eight gladiators and one prize: freedom. Not only that, but there is scenes that help push forward story outside of the arena also, which (hopefully) will serve to make the character's appear more human and make for some more interesting battles. Click the above image to find out all you need to know. Only the 'About' page is active, because the RP has to actually have commenced before the final pages can be made. If there is any questions PM me. Now, let the games begin.

His opponent was a Spaniard, very lean and with a twinkle in his eye that showed he was one gladiator yet to give up on life. He noticed all this moments before, they clashed in the middle of the arena, Nautilus' sword connecting and becoming interlocked with the man's trident. Pushing into eachother, each struggling to overcome the other, a dialogue started. 'I'm sorry I'll have to kill you Legionaire,' the Spaniard said through gritted teeth, making a reference to the tattoo on his bicep as the two struggled to better each other. 'It pains me to have to take a life.' Nautilus snorted and stepped back quickly, breaking the embrace their respective weapons were involved in throwing the Spaniard off balance, but only temporarily. 'You are new at this,' Nautilus said, rearranging his thoughts as the two circled around eachother. 'Your cockiness will be your undoing.' With that he leapt at the man, feinting an attack with his blade-weilding right hand only to land a solid punch on the man's face with his left, propelling him backwards and causing the man to stumble and fall. Lieing inebriated, the Spaniard only saw the sword aimed for his throat at the last minute, and rolled out of the way, albeit somewhat painfully moments before the sword descended. Climbing to his feet he started swinging his net around, making ready to throw it and ensare this nuisance. 'Now who's cocky?'
-
Nautilus closed his eyes and listened to the roar of the crowd in the grand-stands above him, knowing that the forth-coming battle could be his last. With painful slowness he opened his eyes once more and was struck once again by the harsh reality of his situation, Before him a steel grate barred his access to the arena, but it didn't block his site, and he could clearly see, exactly opposite from himself, a man in a similar confinement, held back by grating similar to his own. He stared into that man's eyes a moment, before a voice snapped him from his contemplation. 'Nautilus!' a it called. Nautilus turned around to see his master walking towards him, a fan held in his hand to ward away the incessant blow flies that inhabitted the Colusseum like a plague. 'Yes master?' he replied, bowing slightly as he spoke, noticing that many of his masters slaves followed suit. 'I have... something for you.' Nautilus raised an eyebrow as his master took a long thin parcel off of one of his gathered servants. Unwrapping it slowly and ceremoniously he said: 'This is my blade. I give it to all my slaves when I believe it will be their final battle, and retrieve it afterward.' Nautilus snorted. 'Thankyou for the vote of confidence,' he said dryly, only to be swatted by his master's fan. 'Your sarcasm is unappreciated slave. But I have a large sum of money riding on your fall.' The man turned to leave but stopped a moment and turned around. 'Prove me wrong, I dare you,' he said before leaving with his entourage. Nautilus merely turned towards the steel grating once more. He had survived a hundred fights with this sword. His master merely wish to taunt him. A silence from the grandstands marked the beginning of the battle, and the grating before him slowly raised into the roof with a grinding squeal. Then he leapt through the open door, his sword held at the ready and his lungs bellowing a hearty battle-cry.

The setting: Ancient Rome The location: The Colusseum Okay, I've been tossing this idea back and forth in my head for a few days now, and I figure I might as well act on it, heh. Basically, this is a gladiatorial battle. We have the crowds, the emperor, the caged tigers ready to spring free at any moment, etc. etc. As such, this will be a realistic fight. You will have one weapon, maybe a breast plate and a helmet. No magic. No 'special skills'. Also of note, is I detest delimbing, and if you Godmod I will murder you in your sleep. If you have any questions PM me. Name: Nautilus Conterino Age: 38 Weapon of Choice: Sword Armour: Breast-plate, shield Background: Nautilus was a deserter from the Legions, but was consequently caught by his comrades again mere days after his escape. Instead of the customary death penalty he was sold into slavery, serving many masters and fulfilling many jobs until he came to his current owner, who has decided that his job is to die in the arena. Appearance: About 5'11", brown hair, vivid blue eyes and a solid frame. He is covered in scars from head to toe from his service in the Legions, and still sports the tattoo marking him of the Legion on his left bicep. He has no facial hair. Personality: Sombre, quiet but reasonably skilled with a weapon. A word for the wise: don't get him angry.

Heh, I've just listened to this whole album, and, having had no experience with them before, I'd say its pretty good, heh. I can't judge them on how muuch they've changed from other albums, but I enjoyed this one. The Empire Strikes First is right up there as one of my favourites at he moment, but the whole album is pretty damn good. At first listen I made a connection between these guys and Drop Kick Murphies, lol. Thats what you get when you're only punk album is Frenzal Rhomb, heh. But upon further listening they have a different sound that, while not unique to the genre, is solid and fun anyway. Would I buy the album? Probably. I'll snoop around Rocking Horse next time at Queen Street.
Well, we pay around $1.10 a Litre here...but it is hard to compare, because not only are dollar values different, Litres and Gallons are different. I am too lazy to calculate it, but get this. $1.10-$1.20/L in the country, 89c/L in the city. is that screwed, or what?
We get a pretty consistent 79c/L around here... apparently Queensland has some special tax or some shizzle that covers the extra cents. And if you show a docket from select super markets at selected stations, you get 4c off. So thats 75c/L. Heh, I pity you and your $1.10 a litre.

1. A group of people, much like cliques 2. You don't 3. Nothing As far as I know, Public Groups are just a standard thing in vBulletin version 3 that has yet to be turned off/coded out at OB. I'm pretty sure there is no intention to use it.

Heh, I haven't been here all that long (only about eight months) but I've still seen something awesome shizzle in my time. Those being:

How the James Stole Christmas
The Launch of v7
Super Otaku Brothers
OtakuAwards '03
Charles's wacky pics
My short time as a banner making gnome. :p
Meeting the Zelda Lore Master
Teh Silly Circus
The failed attempts to revive Teh Silly Circus
And thats about all. Heh, I'm not really active enough to have a shite-load of memories.
-
Dude, I think you should set up some staff or something lol. You know... distribute the required shizzle so they can make some too (fonts, Photoshop files etc.) This has gotta be killing you.
-
As has been said, the water effect was quite teh awesomeness. And, I dare say, your skills at animating stick figures is increasing. 'Don't be trying that sexiness on me Dragon Warrior!' XD Classic, lol.

Gaming Most tragic video game character deaths...
DeadSeraphim replied to mononoke_man's topic in Noosphere
For me it was when
Aeris was killed...
I played the game through about three or four times to see if I could prevent it, but to no avail. Of course, each time I was using some bogus 'guide' from GameFAQ, and thats put me off the site for all time.
When Ninja died
is right up there too... considering his past, and how noble he had been in the game when he wasn't totally wigging out, it was a bit disheartening to see
him crushed under Metal Gear's meaty hoof
. It made me think, 'That really cool dude was just creamed, how the **** am I supposed to do it?' Of course, Stinger missiles saved the day. ;) -
You see on the sidebar there? In General? Rules and FAQ. Its already been done, its just up to people to read them. Besides, each forum has rules unique to itself. Even if it was implemented, there's still no guarantee people will read them. Have you ever actually sat down and read the User Agreement when installing something? It would be the same kind of thing.
Well I like the nintendo ds since it's gonna have a lot more cool nitendo games.Like the legend of zelda where Link looks more mature.
Gamecube, dude. You're thinking of the Gamecube. The new LoZ for handhelds has exactly the same style as each handheld Zelda before it.
And I'm a big fan of nintendo and all the playstation systems have bad graphics.
I want you to watch the movie sequences of Final Fantasy X and X-2 and tell me that again. Its great that you're sticking with Nintendo (consumer loyalty? lol) but that doesn't give you the right to make broad generalizations about another console.
And another fact Veiwtiful Joe is a nintendo only product yet psp is going to get Veiwtiful Joe 2.
Viewtiful Joe is a Capcom product, not Nintendo. They have every right to put it on other consoles, and thus increase their profit (gotta love capitilism ;)). Besides, its coming out on PS2, not PSP. A game of that scope could never fit on a handheld.
I changed my picture on myO last night and it seemed to have worked fine. When I went to my site this morning, it was back to the old picture. Now when I try to upload a new one, it doesn't change at all. I don't know if this will help at all, but that was the first time I changed my picture since I registered in August. Thanks.
Your new one has definitely come up for me. Try clearing your Temporary Internet Files, that should fix the problem.

I need a support card... Ability Card: Name: Violent Prayer Ability: Once a card drops to below half its HP, this card can be used to double their stats and add 100 HP. Can only be used on sorcerers (in your face Yoshi).
I am a little nervious about the screen being. . uncovered. I don't like to play my portable systems in cases. . I want to be able to toss the sucker in my pocket, go to work, and pull it out when I want to game. I keep keys, change, and other objects in my pockets. Things that normally would kill a game with an exposed screen. The DS is going to rock because, once again, they are going to have a flip open machine.[/SIZE']
What the hell did you do before the SP then, praytell? For me, personally, it will rest solely on the games on the system. If the PSP has more games that appeal to me than the DS, I'll probably end up getting the PSP and vice versa. I have never bought a system solely for it stats, because, at the end of they day, the stats don't make the gameplay experience, the games do. As far as I know, no release titles have been announced yet, so I can't pass judgement, though I can see myself prefering the DS, because of its backwards compatibility, which gives it an extensive back catalogue from the getgo.

Art Got Mage? [New Animated Series]
DeadSeraphim replied to Dragon Warrior's topic in Creative Works
That style looked really good... except for the long distance shots of the Crimson Crusader. XD Seriously though, it seems to me if you just coloured it in a bit it would be very reminiscent of the 'anime' section of Kill Bill.
