1. Haven't seen Sephiroth in the game itself, but I DID see him in the commercial ("Kingdom Hearts: You'll never know who you see next."); rumor is Sephy's one of the most kick butt bosses in the English version (he's not in the Japanese version, I heard). I'm up to the "caterpillar" boss in Ahgrahbah. Got a little too cocky, though--it finished me off just before I finished it off. V_V; I also have my first summon, and was relieved when I saw who it was. Summons are a little strange to control, though...
2. Yes, Auron is the BEST! Funny story--when I saw the opening FMV, I thought Auron was the bad guy. I mean, c'mon, mysterious looking guy calling a big giant bubble to destroy a city (well, that's what it looked like the first time around, :p). But Seph's entitled to his opinion. After all, I despise FF8 and I'm sure there's someone on these boards that could argue a case for it.
3. OOC post: Sorry, Mom's been stealing the computer. I'll post as soon as I get a chance.
4. i really really like the wings. Got a textured feel going there.
5. Mmm, I kinda like that newest one of yours, Nomad. Not my fav of all you've done, but the colors work very well together. The text is standing out just enough to be noticed, but unfortunately, it's also caught in that sense of needing to stand out more. Been there, done that, made the holes in the wall over there because of it. o_O I think the text color matches ok with the edges of the "cloud" effect. Messing with it would probably mess the whole thing up. 7/10
6. Between the squiggly background and the squiggly text, I can't make heads or tails of it. I like the general look, but I think my brain's about to explode from information overload, art wise. *boom*
7. *squeals happily* AURON!!! Auronauronauron!!! Auron: :therock: Yevon have mercy, what did I do to deserve this?! Mmm, yeah, text weird, but piccie GOOD! Text white, hard to see...Auron GOOD! Auron: Knock it off already! Size good, but the text is getting lost in there. Depending on the program, pop a shadow on the text, if you can. The easiest way is to make a black colored version of the text, then move it behind the white text. Auron! ^^ Auron: ....
8. Although X was easy (save for some of the side quests), at least its story made sense. I mean, really, what the heck did Necron have to do with anything? Besides being the crystal Kuja mentioned maybe once...blehhh. Frankly, Necron was a tacked on boss, and a painfully obvious ripoff of Sephiroth.
9. You know, I was wondering how that worked! Thanx for clearing it up for me. No more Master Ts for Auron. ^^;
10. Oh, thanks a lot, Clowmet. *growls darkly* *has a lot more to say, but bites typing tongue and stalks off*
11. Kehho Auronata stared out the window of her small cottage at the full moon hanging overhead. "Weird dreams," she murmured. A small abino skink, a common visitor to her home because of her fresh supply of water, emitted a noisy raspberry and yawned with its tiny toothed mouth wide, and wriggled its tail. Kehho's wriggled in response, but she quickly hid it beneath her long skirt. "Bip, you aren't listening to me, are you?" The skink chirped and stared at her with half open eyes, curled around her wrist, then slid itself to her bedside table, where it twisted around the lamppost. "I guess not." There was a knock at the door. Bip wasn't the only one who enjoyed Kehho's fresh water; in the town of Terlingua, Kehho was well known for her unexplainable well of pure, cold water. She was the only one who knew why...but she couldn't tell. "Coming, I'm coming," Kehho called out, and answered the door. Behind it stood a young boy and girl, Baska and Kiara. Both smiled at Kehho with gentle grins common of youthful innocents. Kehho smiled back at them. "Buckets, please." The two handed the buckets over, and stood at the door as Kehho fetched the water. She had her back to them, blocking the view of the buckets, so they did not see when she put her finger to the water. Kehho wore a small golden chain just below her scalp line; an aquamarine hung from the center, complete with, by an unexplainable act of nature, a chip of both diamond and sapphire. The precious gem glowed slightly as Kehho touched the water, and the water glowed in response as it was purified and chilled. Bored of being alone, Bip had snuck out of Kehho's bedroom, to find out where she had gone. His eyes widened at the glowing aquamarine and water, and instantly burst into a four legged dash to cannonball into one of the buckets. "BIP!" Kehho hollered. The splash soaked her pretty well, and, beneath her long skirt, her tail lashed about in annoyance. "Hey, Kiara..." Baska whispered to her. "Yeah?" "You see what I see?" Kiara's eyes followed his pointing finger to the tail tip sticking out beneath Kehho's dress. Kiara grew wide eyed, and gasped. Instantly sensing something wrong, Kehho snapped her head in their direction; a moment later (and too late), she covered her tail. Kiara screamed and ran out the front door. Baska, on the other hand, stood and gaped. "Well, Baska," Kehho said nervously, "don't you think you should be following Kiara?" Surprisingly, Baska was not scared, but rather, curious. "You're...you're a Calith, aren't you?" Kehho brushed the troublemaker Bip away roughly and nodded. "Wow. And is that why your water is always special?" "I guess you could say that." Someone yelled Baska's name from outside. "You should go," Kehho urged him. The little boy nodded. "Sorry...I'm the one that pointed your tail out to Kiara. What's going to happen now?" Several voices were yelling for Baska now. Kehho grabbed her bow and arrows from a nearby shelf, and thrust her ever ready traveling sack on her back. "Well, you know how humans feel about Caliths." Baska nodded sadly. "Do you have to go? Oh please take me with you!" "Nonsense, Baska, they'd have your backside tanned. Not to mention what they'd do to me. Now, quickly, take the side entrance, before they break this house apart looking for you." "But you--" "Baska, I'll be fine. Now go!" The boy only had to blink before Kehho had disappeared. He looked around for Bip, but the white albino skink was also gone. Behind him, the front door flew open. "BASKA!" his terrified mother yelled. "Out of this heathen house at once!" She dragged the protesting boy by his arm. Villagers brushed past them to search the house for any sign of Kehho, but only found the buckets that Kiara and Baska had brought. "All right, everyone out," a burly villager roared. "I don't want anyone to be caught in this when it goes up in flames." "What?!" Baska cried out. He watched as a large torch was brought to Kehho's front door, and flung into the house. His mother had to restrain him forcefully from running to it, in an attempt to make sure Kehho had made it out safely. "Kehho, I'm sorry..." In the forest brush a little ways from the village, Kehho and Bip watched the proceedings. "Well, Bip, this is yet another find mess you've gotten yourself into." The skink preened his neck, trying to hide his sigh of sadness. Kehho also sighed, a heavy sigh. "Ah well, I can always find a new place, I suppose." As she stood up, she tried to shake Bip from her shoulder, but he clung fast. "Excuse me, where do you think you are going?" Bip tightened his perch grasp, and gave a Bronx cheer. "You think you're coming with me?" Flicking his tongue snakily, Bip nodded. "And there's no way to convince you to leave me alone?" Hissing comically, he shook his white head. "Even if I threatened to turn you into an ice cube, which is a lot less than what you deserve." Bip raspberried her, unconcerned. Kehho laughed and shook her finger at him. "You know you do. I mean, for goodness sakes, managing to get my home burned down, really now!" Bip tapped the tip of his tail against her mouth, as if telling her to be quiet, then jerked his head in a southly direction. "Oh, now you're giving the orders, huh? Cheeky little critter." Bip grinned toothily at the grumbling Calith; his grin grew even wider as Kehho turned south, grumbling playfully every step of the way.
12. Mystic Quest evil...horrible, simply horrible. But then again, that was one of the first (I think?) games for the SNES. Which kinda goes for FFX...it is the first FF for PS2. Plus, with all those graphics and voicings (speaking as a programmer right now, of which I'm almost am, officially school wise junk and stuff), something's bound to suffer--you can only squeeze so much onto a disk, even if it is a DVD. They could have made the game a 2-disker, no shame, and spent some of that extra space on chara development for Lulu, heh. Some more side quests. Etc. But then again, thinking over the whole game, I like it just fine right now. You can only stretch the story line (of which there was only one (possibly two) this time around, it seems, instead of the usual three or four) so far before you lose your audience completely. I should know...FF9's seemed to drag on forever. Oy.
13. My stats: Name: Kehho (Kay hoe) Auronata (obvious...maybe :bluesweat) Age: 22 Species: Calith Weapon Type: Bow and Arrows, Short dagger Magic Type: Water/Ice Dragona Color: Aquamarine Symbol: What might be considered a reverse crown, my chara wears a intricate chain of gold holding an aquamarine with a tiny sapphire and diamond chip trapped inside. The chain is hidden just beneath her scalp line, so all you can see is the stone behind her bangs. Info: Ever since her father walked out on her mother when Kehho was born, the Calith maid has been a secretive loner. She set out in the world to find a better life for her and her mother, until her mother disappeared one night. Even though Kehho has found a human town to settle in, she is still wary of others. No one knows of her tail or heritage, or that she can purify any water. They just think of her as "that nice, cat looking lady who always has icy cold, fresh water." As for her aquamarine chain, Kehho has never questioned where she got it...or that it gives her her magical qualities. It's simply a nice decoration for the nice cat lady. (A little cheesy, but I'm usually better than this, RPG wise.)
14. Hey, coolies! That's a nice pose for Nanaki. And I've always liked your style--really stands out. (And if you get the chance, you really should play FF7.)
15. Sounds interesting. Really, it does. But I'm guessing there's also going to be a monthly fee attached to playing FFXi (my bro and I were discussing several MMORPGs last night). If so, I'm automatically out. Could someone tell me the Japanese/English relation of the FFs? I know 7 and up are still the same, but I'm getting 3, 4, and 6 mixed up. One of them, FF3 I think, was with Terra and the Espers. It was a rom I got off the net, but when my first computer died, it went with it. Is that FF3? The other below 7 one I've played was the one that came with CT in FFChronicles...labled as iV I think...*checks*...yup, iV. I keep hearing that VI is great, but with all the number changes, I dunno what to look for it as (does that make sense?). Has it been released in the US?
16. *eyes Yuna poster* Oh no...no....NOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Yeesh, they already killed ChronoTrigger with ChronoCross' story (IMO, gameplay good, story good in self but bad in relation to CT)--now they're gonna do it to FFX as well? :bawl: But then again, I shouldn't knock it till I play...if I do. What's this about SquareSoft going back to Nintendo? The whole reason I bought a PS2 instead of a Cube was to keep following the FF series...argh. Poor me, heh. :bluesweat IMO, the two shadowy characters remind me of Lulu on the left, and Rikku on the right, shape wise. They definitely seem feminine, whoever they are. I'm a little bothered that Yuna's got a Tomb Raider look going on...oy. No Auron, I bet, either. :smooch: Everyone else: Would you quit with Auron already?!? Me: No. *happy grin*
17. Mmm, it all depends on what program you use. I mostly use PhotoShop5.5 *wants higher desperately*, which has a good set of filters (special effects). In that case, you must be working in some other program. I'm interested to know which one and how you make your backgrounds.
18. Yay! *bounce bounce* Young Auron, young Auron! Wheeee! *before they cart her off to the nuthouse* I know not what it says, but it's pretty. I'd personally move the guy (who needs a closer edge trimming--you can still see the background edge) to the right more, to balance the girl, and center the text 'tween the two, as needed. Did you use a filter for the background? If so, what? Pretty. Heh. Not good at number ratings, but 8/10 from me.
19. Please tell me that's a guy on the right side of your banner (your avie, whatever), because he's giving me inspiration on a younger version of a chara I know. Either that or he just looks like a dark haired Sephiroth. :bluesweat
20. I know, I know, it's awful early to be asking for help since the game has just come out...but Cerberus is driving me BONKERS and the internet is not yielding any tips on how to put this bad boy down. Can anyone help?
21. I think Sem meant to the top left. ^^; OK, fair's fair--the hooded person is the Bahamut fayth. In the staff "petals", from left, Ifrit, Shiva, Ixion, and in the middle circle, Valefor. Though I didn't expect anyone to be able to tell--just a sketch at this point. ^^;
22. PMed them to you, Dark. Coordinates to Omega Ruins are definitely spoiler type stuff, which is not included in this post.
23. Sadly, I agree FFX was easy. I mean, as far as eye and ear candy, this baby takes the cake (and it's got Auron, too, heh). But for the most part, the entire thing was linear; few sidequests; and I ended up with a rare three setbacks, fight wise. One naturally being Yunalesca, one being the teethed red carpet from Bevelle, and one being just plain dumb luck on the part of some Spirits. Blehh. I didn't even get nervous with the final bosses. 'Course, I had a super powerful Aeon *big grin* (oblivion!) and a majorly powerful Auron...but that's what you get for using your fav chara in every battle. :bluesweat FF7 Time: Took me a month, as well, roughly. FFX Time: A span of sixty hours, spread over two weeks (hey, I've got school, work, and some sort of life, heh).
24. You're right about the redundancy, Cloud. FF7: OK, everyone, time to take the Highwind, Cid's precious airship, to the glowing dark orb hanging above the north part of the earth, where the final boss waits. FF8: N/a. Skipped the (IMO, sloggy) bugger. FF9: OK, everyone, time to take the Hildegard I, Cid's precious airship, to the glowing dark orb hanging above the giant tree sticking out of the earth, where the final boss waits. FF10: Oh my, shock and amazement, time to take Cid's precious airship to the glowing snarling beast floating in midair, where the final boss awaits. I mean, come ON! oy oy oy...I swear to everything good and holy, if they did the same thing in FF8...or any other...oy. But, yes, FF7 truly does stand as a masterpiece of a story (albeit confusing sometimes, but still), from all the FFs I've played (includes 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, and 10).
