1. Just giving you an update on the status of this pic--I'm doing both styles, hand AND computer colored. The hand should be ready sometime tomorrow or the following day (since my art classes have been cancelled for the week, whee), and the computer one should be ready by this weekend. *hopes* I really, really like how the computer one's coming--I wish I could show you, but it's a PSD file, and about 7Mb at the moment. @.@
2. Whoa, tough call--both are amazing. *blinks a few times* Augh! Heh. Sorry. Your charas keep disappearing into the background. Is there some way to make them stand out just a tad...maybe? *doesn't want to insult the great Aries, for the great Aries is well known for the great Aries' banners, which deserve much praise and pop eyed looks* Teh heh. No more Vanilla Coke for me. :bluesweat
3. Thanks, I was hoping it wasn't just me. :bluesweat OK, back to Solid Snake's stuff now..."sexy"? Heh heh. I can see why Faye would be considered alluring, but...pfffffft. (Why do you think I like my Auron banner so much? '')
4. Wow, I likey the journal. Black compliments all the colors well, and keeps it the proper amount of simpleness--if that makes sense. Yeah, just fix the white lettering at the top and you are set. 1) My only complaint is, with the image slightly blurred, the bright purple is a bit strong for it. I'd suggest a softer shade, one that would "blend in" with the faded look. My opinion, anyway. ^^; 2) I thought this one was hand colored at first! Ah well, again, the border color is the only thing that bothers me--it seems to clash with the orange on the left part. I'd suggest eyedropping the hair color, and using that for the border color. 3) Oooo, pwetty! Good job of cropping--got the focus on the eyes, right where it belongs. I'd suggest a small black border, and you are set. I really like all of these avatars--quite eye pleasing!
5. Ooo, I like! The colors go well together, and the shadow/transparent effects are handled very well! I have nothing to complain about on this one. (To Snake: You sure my siggy image is working? I can't see it at all.)
6. Ooo, sparkly. The text is a little hard to read. And I take it you like the images you use--they've been cropping up a bit. Not that that's a bad thing. *thumbs up* I like this one.
7. Well, Lvl4 Spheres are hard to come by, except in the Omega Ruins. I'd personally suggest getting Holy first (and how did you get past Yunalesca without it?! Teh heh, Auron knew it on my file, but fat lot of good that did--the Crimson Warrior ain't a decent spellcaster at all--not that he's supposed to be). So the whole thing's a catch 22--need lvl4 spheres to get the abilities to help you through the ruins which how the lvl4 spheres that...etc etc etc. Like I said, get those extra Aeons and a few Legendary Weapons. And you don't have to go overboard, either. I was able to get through the final bosses pretty fast with Anima. Best of luck! Just to show you how handy the Ruins are (when you feel you can handle them), Auron walked in with just under 6000 HP, and walked out with over 9000. And the list of Abilites he picked up...whoa. And that's just on the character I used all the time. Imagine how the rest of my characters got pumped up by the Ruins. You can gain sphere levels and good skills quickly in the Ruins--just stay near that save point!!!
8. Krillen, it wasn't The One's fault--that was mine. I was the first to write that Link and Yoshi had followed the others. Well, SHOOT, now what? I just came home from school with this kick- idea of what to write next, and...:bawl: Yeesh, someone help! How do we fix this? Wait, maybe, just maybe....poor Auron. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "The lizard." "Whatta you say, Auron?" "There was a lizard...behind you." I guess he means Yoshi, Mario thought to himself, and looked behind him. Madame Aroma instantly whacked him with her fan again, still agitated about the lost shoe. Next to them, Sonic banged his foot against the ground impatiently. "I know you're enjoying my company as much as the next person, but can we get moving already?!" "That magnificent swordsman Link is missing, too," Madame Aroma wailed, as fat rich ladies will when missing their favorite lap dog. Everyone turned to look behind them. Sure enough, both green clad characters were gone. The warp pipe, still in sight, was slipping back into the grassy earth. Knuckles gaped as his mind quickly put two and two together."Wait a minute--don't tell me they went back in the warp pipe!" Auron looked slightly agitated, balancing his sword on his sword. "Why would they do that?" Mario groaned as Madame Aroma whacked him yet again. "That's Yoshi for you." "But the kid seemd to have a good head on his shoulders--why did he go?" Sonic gave a loud sigh on purpose and flung himself on the ground. "Any time this century." "Well, we can't worry about them right now, it would be a waste a time to go hunting for them." "That's a right--they coulda be anywhere now!" "OK, great," Sonic yelled, "they aren't here, we can't go look for them, so let's keep GOING!" Auron leaned toward Knuckles with a tiny smirk of amusement hiding behind his large collar. "Arrogant." Knuckles nodded in agreement. "Yes, he is." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ There we go--that should tie up the problem! ^_^ Enjoy the following piccie I doodled at work today.
9. Ultimate and Omega Weapon, in that order, "live" in the Omega ruins. Supposedly, Omega was some sort of heathen banished to the ruins, where he turned into a fiend. If you have any idea what an Okuwamon looks like, you can get a pretty good idea of what Omega Weapon looks like. Anyways, Ultimate is on the first level. Once you beat it, you go to the lower level, which consists of several platforms that are set up in a downward spiral--every time you enter a platform, you get into a fight. The final platform has Omega, who leaves about 6 (if I remember right) Lvl4 Spheres--very handy for those hard to get but desperately needed Skills--DoubleCast, FullLife, etc. Me personally, I would work to get the additional Aeons first. They can save your butt so many times, in addition to helping Yuna level up (which means the Aeons will level up, too), and giving them a chance to fill their Overdrive guages in preperation for Ultimate/Omega. Unless, of course, you have Anima--in that case, you are MORE than ready to send the Weapons to the Farplane--just use Yuna's Overdrive to Grand Summon Anima for Ultimate, use Overdrive: Oblivion on Ultimate, then (if you prefer) escape from the platform fights until you get to Omega, and pop him with Anima's Overdrive (remember, if you Grand Summon an Aeon, whatever is already in their Overdrive gauge is NOT used at all--which means, as long as you have both Yuna and Anima Overdrived, you're set). Now, since I used Auron in every single fight since I got him, he was pretty powerful, and could handle the Ruins really well. I suggest getting some Legendary Weapons (Auron's is the easiest to get, IMO, Yuna's second) and their corresponding Crests/Sigils. Every powered up Legendary Weapon allows your charas to hit their Overdrives three times as fast, plus includes some shweet abilities (Auron gets FirstStrike, Yuna gets 1MP ability, and so on). Try to know Curaga, Osmose, Bio (Bio helps tremendously), Steal/Mug, and have plenty of healing items. Try to be Ward/Proof against stone, confusion, and beserk, too. For me, Auron knowing Flee equipped with his FirstStrike ability got me out of a lot of tough spots. Finally (I know, this is a really really long post), I STRONGLY suggest you do not wander far from the save sphere. You get healed fully every time you touch it--plus I'd suggest saving. Spirits can easily wipe out your team in the long run with its Poison Wind (something like that), and just plain stay away from Master Tonberries--unless you like seeing Game Over flashed over your dead team's bodies. ^^; Hope this helps.
10. (Still without a working map link here--could someone send it to me?) It was a green, spacious, and cheerful looking place. Auron was already growing weary with it. The only thing that was keeping his interest was the strange spirals looping everywhere. He scoffed--why built the road when you can just step across the bottom of the loop? Which is exactly what he did. He paused and rested his sword on his right shoulder as he heard a tinny voice. The tinny voice squeaked loudly as it grew closer. "Must get back, must get back, sparkly thingy to go to Doc and must get back!" Auron had seen many fiends in his days, but never ones that were part machina. This one foot fiend seemed to be a cross between a skunk and a hedgehog, its white and black quills sharp needles. In its metal sheathed claws it carried something that reflected the vivid green of the surroundings. In its rush to get to wherever it was going, the fiend did not watch its step, bumping into the warrior's leg. Auron shot a look at it, and nudged it to one side, as if to send it on its way again. It squealed indignantly, then bounced back, and arched its quills. "Hey old man, HEY old man!" it yelped at him, rattled its spines together. "You not getting this, nuh uh, not for you, you can't get it!" Auron closed his eye for a moment, dredging up a secret reserve of patience. "Fine, just go." "No, you get me, you get me when I turn my back. Gonna get you first, yeah!" "So eager to die?" Yevon, so much for being a nice guy. The fiend rolled itself into a spike ball, and flung itself at Auron, who easily deflected the creature with the flat of his sword. Still rolling, the creature lunged again. Auron waiting for just the right moment, and, using his Masamune like a bat, cracked it across the creature's back, sending him flying for 20 feet. The fiend uncurled and set up a pathetic wailing. "Waahhhaaahhh....nasty old man not let me pass, gonna get it, yes I am!" "Oh, shut up." The fiend glared at Auron, rattled his spines together. With a silly tinny growl, he charged once more, and Auron took a stance, ready for him. Then the warp pipe appeared. It popped the fiend so high in the air that Auron lost sight of it in the sky. Something up there glittered green, conviently marking the spot. "Mama MIA!" "What the--?" "My shoe, my shoe, my imported shoe, you dirty old plumber!" *WHACK!* "Owwie..." "OooooOOOoo...Yoshi!" Auron stared in disbelief. Unsure how to react, he resumed his fighting stance...instantly scaring the lizard fiend onto the plumber's head. The glittering green thing fell from the sky, bounced off the lizard's head, and landed in Auron's slinged hand. Raising an eyebrow, he tucked it into his sleeve for future investigation. "Who are you?" he barked roughly at the pipe dwellers. Yoshi instantly fainted from fear...landing on Madame Aroma. She shrieked and kicked at him, yelling something about touching "scaly slimy snaky skin". Behind them was a person that reminded Auron of Tidus, dressed in green clothes. The plumber, dressed in red and blue, seemed harmless enough--besides, he had good taste in colors. Auron relaxed. These people...and lizard?...obviously meant no harm. But who were they? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hey, FYI, did you know Yoshi was touted as a Dragon before people claimed he was a Dinosaur? I still say he's a Dragon, so there! ^^
11. Colors are nifty and all, but the outline for the eyes is rather thick.
12. Mmmm, the only reason I had Yojimbo was to say I had him. Didn't like the idea of chunking money at him everytime I wanted him to attack. I know, I know...at the end of the game, what does it matter? IMO, Yojimbo isn't all that great (and to think that he and Auron's Masamune are connected...*growls*, just like Valefor and Yuna's Nirvana are connected, and so on, so for, *shuts up before saying anything else*...not really a spoiler, because the game never tells you what happens, but something does, so I'll hush now.).
13. Sorry, but there's a beefy bit of a FFX spoiler in my introduction. If you want to skip it, just know that Auron manages to go from St. Bevelle, Spira to the edge of Green Hill Zone. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ How many years had it been? The great warrior bowed his dark haired head, streaked with some grey, but mostly snowy white now. He permitted himself a tight lipped smile. The Farplane has no need of time, thus no way to mark the passage of it. It was true--only when friends visited, calling upon long since dead spirits, could he see into the living part of Spira...see the season that held sway, the people in the midst of their living. He wasn't sure if he envied them. "Auron?" The red cloaked figure turned to face his dearest friend, High Summoner Braska. The Summoner, forever clothed in the blue velvet holy robes, smiled at Auron. "You are restless." Behind his dark glasses, Auron blinked his one good eye--the left one--in grudging agreement. "How is it you know me so well, Lord Braska?" "We've grown up together." The Summoner then shrugged lightly. "But even Jecht and Tidus are complaining about it. Look at you--even now you're pacing like an impatient tiger in a cage." Auron pushed his glasses higher up his nose, to hide his narrowing russet eye--dear Braska was being a little too blunt. Slightly dishonored by the thought, he turned to his friend, resting upon the hilt of his intricately gilded Masamune. "My lord, what do you suggest I do?" Braska smiled kindly. "Why do I need to advise you when you have already chosen your mind?" Auron shook his head in amazement. "Right as always, my friend." "Just don't scare anyone while you're leaving, Auron. You know they'll just send a summoner after you to put you in your place." The Crimson Warrior nodded. He looked over his shoulder at the edge of the Farplane, a mere five feet away. In the living world, a mother was speaking to her teenage son, taken from her in one of the final Sin's rampages. Somebody else was calling for Chappu. Auron raised his left eyebrow. This was going to get interesting. Then he saw a flash of something...ghostly images...sharp teethed, red dotted plants, seven emeralds shining brightly and floating off in different directions, a bloody sword held by a black hand... Setting his impressive sword down, Auron pressed his gloved hand to his forehead. He wouldn't admit to drinking--his jug was for medicinal and revival purposes (although he was not without one or two blameless accusations). And had it not been for his own unusual adventure, he wouldn't believe in spirits, either. Something was very wrong somewhere. He mentally brushed away additional ghostly images, and, now prepared with a reason for leaving, reached out a hand to touch the wall between the Farplane and the living world. "Chappu...I...well..." Lulu hadn't visited the Farplane's living lobby in a long while, and was at a loss for words. More so when Auron's familiar figure began to stretch out of the Farplane barrier into the lobby. "AURON!" "No time to talk." The already pale black mage turned a shade whiter, unsure how to react. Her delay gave Auron enough time to dash past her--until he slammed into the invisible wall. The Masamune clattered to the tiled floor, and he paused, slightly stunned. The wall was now appearing, something fuzzy beyond it--a land of green and blue. Auron studied it with a critical eye--a land obviously at the pinnacle of civilization, and, thus thought, safety and invinsibility. He instantly knew the ghostly images came from there. "Auron, you can't just--" Lulu's words were wasted breath as the warrior stepped into the portal. She blinked her widened eyes, still at a loss for words. "Lulu?" Chappu called from the Farplane. "Did I see what I think I just saw?" "Uh....no."
14. Character name: Auron Reason for choosing character: Does being an absolute otaku of his count? ^^ Anyways, I'm doing a fanfiction on him, and figured roleplaying as him would serve as a great help. My Knowledge of this character: Extreme. From his official storyline to his legendary weapon, I (profess to) know the Crimson Warrior inside and out. Starting location of character: Mmm, I'm getting a 404 error for the map image. :bluesweat I'll tentatively say near Guadosalam for now, until I can see the map.
15. *twiddles fingers* I...kinda like it... *wishes she liked Mario a little more* :cross: *hides from James* SMB3 is definitely my favorite, right after SMW2: YI (YOSHI! '') And I always liked playing SMB2, because you got to play as the Princess...*float float*
16. And since Japan is sometimes referred to as the land of the rising sun, and Koja is a ninja, it all kinda makes sense, yes? I'd really like to see this Ditto/Golbat card now...
17. I am a die hard ChronoTrigger fan (it was my first and favorite RPG, with FF7 and FF10 taking a close 2nd). To me, ChronoCross was a bit disappointing. Mostly for the way CC twisted the CT storyline, probably. It depressed me. *hugs Pip* Now THAT little guy makes for a fun chara! The battle system threw me at first--quite odd. And I could never beat the final boss, blehh, because I couldn't *mumble mumble stops before spoiling spoilers* Nobody mentioned the New Game Plus, that IS in there!!! ^_^ FMVs are GORGEOUS!!! And the music is still among my fabs to this day. There were too many charas for me, and then, just when I thought I had the PERFECT team, the game kinda took care of that, too...*stops again, growls, but holds back spoilers*
18. Sokay for a game...I guess. I never liked Secret of Mana, but Legend of Mana (um which is which?...I like the PS one better) is okay. The whole thing seemed rather easy...get an item, plant it, alter the land...whee. Carrying those little pets around was ok, too, but they didn't seem to serve terribly much purpose...they always keeled over at the beginning of battle for me. >_
19. SEPHY!!!! Erhm, raven wings for angel wings...o...k. But no Auron...blehh...heathens. Regardless, I've been looking forward to this since mid-Feb. But guess who had the stupidity not to reserve a copy? @_@ It's gonna be awhile before I get a chance to play...
20. *hopes desperately that James is right* Ah well, then I'd have to start worrying about the modem bit--this computer I'm on is way too ancient to support 2 second flash thingies, let alone an entire world...*needs new computer badly...or at least a new "tower"* And I assume the entire thing's customizeable (is that a word?). But the possibility of people hacking or using codes is a scary thought. I've seen my younger bro pull off stuff like that all the time on his Command&Conquer, Unreal, Warcraft, etc. games. Can SS protect against that, I hope? And what about leveling up? Or-- *is stifled before she can rattle off any more questions* Mmm, I'll go over there now and wait for Kingdom Hearts...
21. Mmm, good until you hit that bright green color. Try to find a color that isn't so...glaring obvious. Other than that, I like it.
22. Well, I started out with a Shiva gone Stitch sketch, but instantly trashed it in favor of the more realistic Shiva. Given her clothing *ahem* (or lack of), I must rate this PG, for skimpy, bikini clothing. Shouldn't be a problem for most, though. Shiva's body looks a little small, and the hand in her hair needs work, but I need opinions from all of you--should I color pencil this one, or PhotoShop it?
23. Prefer the one you have now. But maybe that's because I like the color and texture better. Crop circle seems a little...flat.
24. 1. There is no best artist. Because of the different styles, abilities, techniques, and tools available, there is (IMO) too much to be mastered. (Tools) An artist could be kick- in pencil, yet suck when it comes to computer art, and so on. (Techniques/Styles/Abilites) Plus, the audience makes the artist. Different people prefer different things--everyone is not going to like the exact same thing. 2. This topic is just plain dangerous. Someone's bound to get a swelled or bruised ego from this. Been there, done that, wasted some good creativity due to that.
25. So, possibly, my understanding is that SquareSoft may not make another FF online game for a long while, since, like James said, SS could alter the game as time goes on. Doesn't mean they won't make a new online one, just not for a while. My only concern is a time factor. More and more, my free time to be online is shrinking. And during the few times that I was involved in an online game, I always seemed to be missing during crucial parts. Meanwhile, others would be getting an advantage proportional (ugh, sp?) to their playing time. (But I assume that is leveled out somehow in the game...right?) Anyways, I'm normally a loner as far as gaming goes...but if I had the time, I would love to be part of FFXI. I'm enjoying the idea already. Well, if I had the time. Pffft. :bluesweat
