Advice Requested (relationship issues)
Andrew replied to Farto the Magic's topic in General Discussion
At the end of the day (It's night by the way), the decision is out of your hands. You can play it cool and let him try but if Sue wants to choose you or him (or either of you for that matter), there's little you can do about it. I suppose she'd be more inclined to choose you if you gave her the signs that you like her and what not. Personally, in my own girl chasing experiences, even my closest friends will actively persue girls I like and generally out in the open with no concern for my well-being. It's a dog-eat-dog world out there (I really hate that saying ¬_¬) and from what you've been saying he has had a fair length of time at trying to snag her. I say go for it, albeit subtly. He doesn't need to know about your advances and, as Retribution said, if he doesn't know about it and she chooses you, there's little grounds he can attack you on. And you did say she was an artist. I've haven't met many female artists in my time (let alone good ones) so that's a plus for you. -
Following hot on the heels of Ken and Gavin, I have a really strong feeling I'd have big beautiful boobies if I were born a girl. And, being true to myself I'd be (quite literally) doing nothing all day but playing with them, because that's the type of guy (or girl, whatever) I am. I normally tend to take like half hour getting ready and more like 2 hours if I'm going somewhere important and need to take a bath (yes, I have no shower in my house and it's like living in the stone-age ¬_¬). Takes me about 10 minutes to spike my hair up (or less if I've just had it cut) and I normally just pick whatever clothes are in my drawers. I bathe when necessary, normally every 1-2 days and I only tend to wear aftershave if I'm going somewhere I know I'll be in the company of the lady-folk. Despite how manly I normally am, I'm of the impression that I easily play the part of a womanly-woman. It's quite interesting to think about crazy stuff like this. *drools over the thought of playing with big boobies*

It's normally not my style to post at all, let alone twice in quick succession but I just had to say...
On that note, there's nothin' hot about Twigy... can't wait until this rib-cage-showing-through fad is over-and-done-with so we can get back to admiring real women for looking like real women, rather then stick-figures. [/COLOR']
Amen to that!

If I were anybody else I'd probably start with he typical "You're not fat, there's nothing wrong with you, blah, blah, blah!" speech, but I hate lecturing people and I don't feel it's my place to do so. However, I have that very feeling right now! I just finished one of my mother's famous cooked dinners right down to the last drop of gravy because I refuse to leave food that she busted her *** off to prepare for me all day. On to the subject at hand, my stomach right now is really full to the point it kinda hurts and I had to undo my dressing gown a little to compensate. ^-^ But in all seriousness, I do follow what you're going through. I've suffered in a similar way (although never to the point of anorexia etc) because I'm too health conscious and I am actually overweight. Not as much as you'd think when looking at me, but I see it all the time. I've just recently come to accept that I am really vain (despite my best efforts to deny it) and it has made me feel a lot better for whatever reason. I'm actually an inch or 2 shorter than you and probably about 56 lbs or so heavier than you. Although I'm a guy and a lot of that is proportioned to the shoulder area, I do have some excess which I'd like to get rid of, but what it all boils down to is I'm happy with who I am and nobody can take that away from me, regardless what I called in work. ¬_¬ I was looking at some pictures of me from a few years ago when I was going through what you are now and it's unsettling how thin I was there and then looking at myself in the mirror now. I do kinda get angry at myself for letting go so easily, but it can't be helped I guess. From what I understand though, this seems to stem from the fact that you're clothes stopped fitting before your birthday. Although I guess you already know it, clothes getting too small for you is just part of growing up (particularly for your age) and maybe you'll do good to remember that and hear other people re-enforce that point. Perhaps you should try looking in the mirror closely at yourself and just learning to accept that you are growing up, things are going to change and that no-one else can accept you if you don't accept yourself. Not that you should be considering anyone else's opinion at this time but you get the idea. This is why I don't normally reply to stuff like this because my thoughts tend to come out in an unordered mess. ¬_¬ But anyways, try to remember what I've said and just look at yourself and smile, it'll do you the world of good. Laughing helps a hll of a lot too, especially if its at yourself!

Thanks, that's awesome, pretty much dead on what I pictured. I owe you big for that!

This may seem like a rather odd request but it’s just my way of dealing with not getting signed-up to Otakuties in time. Vanity, thy name is sunglasses! ¬_¬ Basically I’d like a banner and avi featuring myself (pictures provided ^-^) to make me feel better. I appreciate that these pictures may be a tad bit big for the purpose but unfortunately I can’t use editing software for jack. So thanks (and apologies) in advance to anybody who wants to try it out for me. Basically, your imagination can run away with you on this one. Edit, chop or colour however you see fit, I’ll be grateful whatever comes out. All I ask is that the banner uses both pictures and has somewhere written on it “Who’s So Vain?” in whatever font/colour you think best suits what you’ve made. So without further ado: Who's So Vain? The Chibi-nator Once again, mucho praise and gratitude to anybody who even thinks about doing this. (On a side note ... Ain't I cute? ^-^)

This is some really groovy writing you've got here. Although I probably preferred your Zero fiction better for the story, I thought it best to comment here because everything in this fiction screams beauty. I did my best to move past the boy-love scenario as they never really appeal to me and found underneath a very nice story indeed. I did notice the few mistakes already pointed out so I won't bog you down by repeating them. Otherwise this was nicely paced, fleshed out the characters well in such a short period, made them believable (despite being ficticious creatures) and gave me a warm feeling inside. Kudos to you for being an awesome writer, you really are an inspiration.

It occurs to me that the boards hasn't had a thread about jobs for a while. And even when it did, at the time I didn't have a job so I didn't read it or input on it. So I figure it's time to talk about jobs. So, to all you Otaku-folk out there, what do you do to get your cash? What are your experiences with working? If you haven't got a job yet, what would you like to do/what are you studying to become? And what was your dream job as a child? I'm your everyday average avionic engineering apprentice. Basically I get to maintain the electrical components of aircraft engines in a fair sized factory for one of the biggest companies in the world, GE (That's General Electric for those not in the know). It's a pretty decent job, always lots to do, it pays well enough to hold my growing anime/comic/music interests and also leaves enough for the luxuries (and slipping my mammy cash for lodge on the side ¬_¬). I think I'll leave it at that for now. Just curious to see what everyone else says.

"When the floor is full use the table." - Mr Mike Davies, my maths teacher, with regards to paper note storage in the classroom. "Nappies are not provided!" - Again, my maths teacher, referring to people farting in the classroom. Great my maths teacher. He always had a line or quote for something. Just a shame that I can only remember these two, although they were the most frequent. Great guy was good ole Mikey D!

In the ever immortal words of one murderous Lucy: Nyu? My apologies for being skeptical here (not that I don't think your idea is noble or anything), but guidelines probably wouldn't go down well here, already after 2 posts a disagree-ing has occured. Like DS says, the idea probably doesn't work in la lounge. And in all seriousness, I had to stop reading after so many paragraphs from fear of boredom induced death. However I'll be the first to admit I find most of your threads amusing and they always promote a path of thinking I probably wouldn't have taken otherwise.

I guess I should give me input. Ze Good I guess a good place to start would be to say I’m an all round nice guy. I’m pleasant in conversation and I’m always happy to go out of my way for family, friends and (in most cases) complete strangers. As a result of my treatment of lady-folk I’ve been called The Perfect Gentleman on several occasions and my mammy says I’m the perfect son too. I clean after myself, wipe up crumbs etc, all those little things that help the world become a better place. I’m pretty smart in that while I was in school I breezed through with little work (not so much these days because my laziness has increased by a factor of 10, see Le Bad) and I have a fair wealth of knowledge. I’m pretty laid back and can take most things on my shoulders and not much of anything really bothers me or stresses me out. As such, most people see me as easy to talk to and regularly share their problems with me (although most of these traits are for my day-to-day life, on the net I’m mostly just a goon -). I have a strong protection instinct and I really love animals (My cats are seriously the most awesome creatures to ever grace the planet!). Although I am carrying a little extra weight, the clothes I tend to wear give most people the impression that I’m just a slightly buff guy, which I’m quite willing to except. Le Bad! Well, here it goes. Laziness is something of an issue for me. Or not so much laziness, more that I just don’t see the point in certain activities. This is mostly to do with college work and what not but if I enjoy what I do I’ll put my all into it no question. And despite my good treatment of women, I have a crazy fetish (more like obsession) with breasts. Even more so than most guys. Despite hiding it well, I’m almost always thinking of or looking at boobies. I tend to inhale them through my brain like their a medical necessity (Although most disagree, I see this as a good thing, I’m just warped like that ^-^). Relating to my weight issue, I have something of a gut on me and maybe a little extra weight on my arse and thighs, which makes me really self-conscious in the summer or when I go swimming. Or try to go swimming more like. I have a massive water phobia and the thought of drowning is probably one of the scariest things I could possibly think of. I’m ok in water, I’ll play about just like anybody else, but when the water starts getting above chest level I really do start to freeze up and get scared sh*tless! Oh, and I have a lot of obsessive compulsive disorders. Like light switches or sockets being left on when they aren’t needed or there’s nothing in them. Or if I touch one point on my left hand I’ve gotta touch the exact same spot on my right hand and other weird stuff like that. I think that’s all I’m prepared to admit to right now.

Gavin's mention of the dictionary reminded me of a quote my college lecturer used to say quite a lot. Naturally, since the lecture took place in a workshop and we're a bunch of dumb apprentices people tended to get hurt quite a lot and his reply was always as follows: "If you're looking for sympathy, try looking in the dictionary ... Between shít and syphilus (sp)!" Great guy.

Your Favourite Kind Of Alcohol [M for drug use, oooooh]
Andrew replied to DeadSeraphim's topic in General Discussion
Generally cider's what I drink. More specifically, Strongbow. The nice golden can with the little archer on. It's not exactly the most tasty thing I've ever put to my lips but it does what I want it to and it tastes much better than any beer I've had the displeasure of trying. Seriously, to quote a friend: "Beer tastes like death!" It's like raw filth in drink form. Same goes for spirits and wine and all that other stuff. I was drinking at age 13 (Although I'm perfectly legal now thank you) and I did have a long streak there with crazy drinking with the boys. Then I calmed down and presently I'm far worse than before. I tend to drink by myself for reasons unknown and I'm always looking to go for a few drinks too. But yeah, Cider is the way to go. -

1) What is your Birthday? June 18th '87 2) What is your Zodiac sign? Gemini (And that makes 4 mein freunds) 3) How does your Zodiac sign describe your personality? Refer to other Gemini posts 4) Does the description of your zodiac actually describe you? Why? Naturally. It fits me because I want it to. Anyone of us could pick aspects from another sign that fits our personality, that's just the way the human mind works. If certain things fit, we purposely work to fit the rest of the details. That said, the whole split personality/mood swing thing fits me, sound as a pound. 5) How does your zodiac sign PWN over the rest? Because I say it does. And since I'm in my intellectuel, big headed phase right now, I must be right. Plus, twins are just cool. Who wouldn't want a twin? imagine the mayhem you could cause! Delightful! EDIT: Sorry, meant to mention as well, that Ninja's most certainly rule over Pirates. Ninja's are so much better it's not even funny. ¬_¬

It amuses me how quickly people like to see something new get thrown aside. I must say I'm far more eager to get my hands on a PS3 than any of the other consoles. And irrespective of it's price and all that other stuff people have to complain about, Sony have Metal Gear 4 so end of story really. Price is no issue when the console has some of the most stand up games in its arsenal, unlike that crappy Wii and its endless string of cute characters and that stupid remote idea. But as usual, I digress. I'll leave my Wii bashing for another thread.

Bad Karma! He flopped down on to the filthy settee. Then he got back up and headed for the door of the small flat. Suddenly his roommate burst in. “Surely you’re not going out without the 3 S’s?” “… The 3 S’s…?” “Yeah! The S’s! The
Shit
, Shower and Shave! It’s Bad Karma to go out without them!”

“Something wrong with you today? I think that’s the most I’ve heard you speak in a long while? First talking to yourself now this?” Andrew said with heavy sarcasm and a hint of confusion. Truth be told, Andrew wanted nothing more to do with his father these days. Sure the death of their mother had hit them all hard but leaving two young sons was nothing short of outright fucking disgraceful. Although this was the first time that either of them had talked about it since he’d left, Andrew always became cold and uncharacteristic when he remembered his father. At this Nate kept quiet and both walked along in silence. This time however it was Nate who felt uncomfortable. It wasn’t like his younger brother to become quiet and dramatic, very uncharacteristic. Then suddenly his brother stopped and Nate just looked at him curiously. “There! Andrew pointed and spoke loudly. Nate’s eyes immediately sought out the two blue objects in the long grass that his brother was pointing at. From this distance it was near enough impossible to tell what was happening so Andrew took off into a sprint. Nate’s shocked reaction quickly disappeared as he dashed after his younger brother not knowing what he had in mind. He watched as Andrew leapt up the embankment in front of him and then shouted out. “I’ve got dibs on the Heracross!” Nate eyed the back of his brother’s head with a curious look but understood fully when he too reached the top of the bank. There, a female Nidoran and a Heracross were locked in battle both looking somewhat worn. Nate’s eyes lit up at the sight of the Nidoran while Andrew had a similar fiery glare at the Heracross. From what Andrew could tell the Nidoran looked a little more worn, perhaps from previous battles, but either way it was going to fall soon. And exactly as he predicted the Heracross performed a final lunge at the wounded Nidoran and it fell to the floor in total exhaustion. And as soon as their battle was officially over AJ’s Zubat dived onto the Heracross’s back and began leeching its energy. The Heracross grew angry and hurled itself backwards in an attempt to crush Zubat, but its superior speed allowed it to move away freely while the Heracross just ended up hurting itself. It was then that Andrew launched his 3rd Pokéball and engulfed the large blue bug in the usual crimson light.

“You know, maybe if we got you a girl to chase after, you’d be a bit more upbeat…sociable even? Maybe even stop mumbling to yourself?” Andrew chirped. His last comment on Nate’s ‘Meditation’ had earned him a long and boring silence. Little did Andrew know that his older brother was actually thinking about him at that moment and perhaps trying to relate to his redeemable qualities. This comment put a firmly set scowl on Nate’s features and Andrew knew he’d done it now. “Or not? You know, whatever!” He blurted out with an embarrassed look on his face. It was their second walk through route 1 that morning and now with Zubat in hand Andrew was eager to get to work. As soon as Oak had made his announcement Andrew’s systematic logic kicked in. While on this trail back he’d wanted to catch a Caterpie most definitely and if possible a Pikachu. He’d also seen a Bulbasaur a couple of weeks back when he was routinely walking through Viridian Forest. With any luck he’d be able to catch up to it later. Nate looked a little confused when Andrew unclipped the Zubat ball and went dashing off into the long grass towards the trees. Nate looked in the general direction and could see something moving in front of Andrew. He skidded to a halt several metres away from the little green bug with a sly smirk before launching his Pokéball. The red light materialised to reveal Zubat. The Caterpie eyed the flying blue creature curiously and then started shooting string at it with apparent anger. “Alright Zoobsy, give it a taste of Supersonic.” Andrew spoke calmly. The following sound that echoed at the Caterpie made it flail around in discomfort. Suitably confident that the little bug was confused Zubat flew in for a tackle that sent the Caterpie flying. Before it could hit the floor or anything else that would cause it further damaged it collided with a little red and white ball and then fell to the floor. Andrew smirked blissfully at his excellent shot and then picked the ball up and clipped it to his belt. Nate appeared just behind him with his arms crossed and a raised brow. “Nice little green bug you’ve got there.” He finally spoke up. “Yeah it’s good, nothing like yours though.” Andrew continued to smirk at his brother, while Nate’s thoughts were dragged back to his Scyther.

With his brother now being entertained by the big man himself and all the other trainers off searching for their own Pokémon, Andrew saw no reason to draw spectacle to himself and with no girls around there wasn’t a need to show off. Instead he put his hands in his pockets and walked around the grounds disinterestedly staring at its inhabitants. Walking under the trees Andrew spied some Mankey and Aipom playing together in the trees as Spinirak and Caterpie bustled about below in the long grass. A few Pidgey’s were fighting with an angry Spearow over some food scraps and small groups of Nidoran were happily chasing each other. This all seems a bit too merry for my liking and none of these Pokémon seem to share my flair he thought to himself heading into a thick patch of trees. The light became dark and the air became dense, as the trees loomed ominously above. A slight fluttering sound and squeaking alerted him to the presence of a lone Zubat slinking about in the shadows. A Zubat? he wondered. The fact that this bat Pokémon feeds on other creatures for their plasma in much the same way he fed on others for their attention seemed to match him perfectly. Plus, Andrew always did admire the fully evolved Crobat and the fact that it boasted tremendous speed. With an excited smirk, Andrew unclipped the first Pokéball from his belt and hurled it at the little blue creature. The Zubat deftly dodged with ease and then flapped above his head in an irritating manner. He grunted lightly before swatting at it in vain. It was far too fast for him. He needed to be smart about it. Now with a sly grin Andrew threw the Pokéball again and then grabbed a second ball and threw it straight after. The second ball was aimed a little behind the first one, where he assumed it was most logical for the bat to evade. Just as Andrew had planned the first ball provoked the Zubat into dodging backwards and the second ball hit it clean and consumed the little blood sucker in a aura of red. “Ha! I’m too good for my own … well, good.” He chirped with his characteristic smirk before picking up the balls. He put the un-used one back on his belt and held the second one in his hand while staring at it. Naturally he’d assumed that his brother had spoken to Oak privately about their previous encounter and his brother was now the owner of a new Pokémon. This now meant that they’d be partners in their quest and, most certainly, rivals as well as brothers. And so with Zubat in ball (as it were) Andrew proudly walked back to the home of the Great Pokémon Professor Oak.

After Miku’s brief introductions to the other teens around the table, Oak continued to make minor chit-chat, frequently beating around questions about the purpose of the trip and what was to happen next. His somewhat wrinkled brow furrowed at the sound of talking outside his door. A male definitely. The deep, yet childish voice nattered on with an occasional grunt from a second male. “I’m telling you we should have left later, I severely doubt Oak’s even up yet.” Came the loud and childish tone, this time more clear to the group. Oak immediately headed for the door and opened it just as a fist was about to knock it. As expected there were two dark haired males standing outside, definitely brothers from their features but the difference in their overall body language was incredible. “Hey Oaky! Long time no see.” Came the somewhat rude greeting of one Andrew Armstrong. Oak frowned and was just about to speak before he was cut off. “Whoah, you didn’t tell me there were going to be so many beautiful young women here Professor!” Andrew spoke loudly, with an obvious hint of smouldering sleaze in his eye. The other male, Nathan, rolled his eyes and approached an empty seat. The rest of the group either eyed him with a puzzled look or looked somewhat disgusted. The lack of a response from anyone made Andrew sigh loudly. “Aww, I normally get lots of attention when I do that…” He said returning to his childish tone whilst dropping his shoulders. “Yes, indeed. Everyone this is AJ and Nate,”, Oak declared, hinting at Andrew and Nathan respectively when he spoke their names before continuing “Now could you sit down so we can wait for the others please, young Armstrong?” Andrew defiantly crossed his arms and skulked over the empty seat next to his brother whilst mumbling something incoherently. It didn’t help that his brother was already enjoying a quiet conversation with one of the females around the table. Andrew just sighed again and slumped further into his chair. Just then another knock came at the door before Oak let in a red-haired teen.

I think what Gavin is asking is how will each of us carry out the battle. Since there's at least 10 or so of us, do we have to wait around while each other person battles and will there be an order and what not? Do we decide if we win the badge or will you act as gym leader as well and so on.
-
Right you are boss, thanks for clearing that up. On the whole diversity thing I was thinking maybe the Kanto towns could be visited in a different order. Not that I really feel the need to, it's just nice to know the order can be moved around if it's needed.
-
I figure someone's bound to ask this sooner or later so it may as well be me. Are we all going to be starting together in one big mesh or will we start as individuals or smaller groups? Maybe you'll address this when you start the actual play thread but my impatience got the better of me, so apologies for that. Also, is this going to follow the traditional order of the region, like Viridian City, Viridian Forest, Pewter etc... or is there room for diversity? I'm quite excited about this actually, my first RPG in a long while and what looks to be my first serious Pokémon RPG, so thanks for the opportunity.

Name: Andrew John Armstrong (nicknamed ‘AJ’ or ‘Armstrong’ for obvious reasons) Age: 18 Physical Description: Clicky Personality: Definitely the embodiment of an enigma. One second Andrew can be quiet and reserved and the next he can be shouting and raving about any random subject. Generally an all around nice guy with something of an ego, especially where females are involved. A self professed ladies’ man, Andrew takes pride in his appearance and always aims to show off when one is around. He works hard and has a great relationship with his first and only Pokémon, Zubat. Pokemon: Zubat
