1. whoa.. I thought the topic was along the lines of "do you all have a life as well as otakuboards.. but yeah.. I would be a lot different had I not come here. to what extent I don't know, because I did come here.. but I would be different ;) For one thing I wouldn't know the great people I know *waves to great people*- you know who you all are ;) (if not, then there's a simple test- if you're in my sig, then you're a great person ;) )
 2. I don't have time to be bored, most of the time. When I actually get time to not be doing anything, I don't really want to be doing anything.. that's just how busy I can get these days ^^; that's what I get for getting involved in worship..
 3. Races really aren't a problem for me.. but for me, I couldn't get involved in that kind of relationship with a non-christian. Don't judge that statement until you actually read the reason: Ultimately, it's really hard to be with someone that you seriously believe is destined to.. well.. let's just say "A different place entirely".. it really doesn't matter at all whether you are right or not, but the sheer belief that the two of you are destined to spend an eternity, one in heaven and one.. not in heaven, just destroys you. And it is a lot harder to bring someone to faith, than to lose faith because you don't want to lose that person. So yeah.. I'm not "selective" due to prejudice, but because my beliefs would destroy me..
 4.
Originally posted by Shaun I hope I never go back on my word about not doing drugs, drinking or smoking. Those are some things that I am detirmined to stick with. I don't like to be called religious. I am a Christian, but "religious" has way too many negative connotations attatched to it. And I totally cannot stand those "so called christians" who talk about every little thing, and look at you like you're trash if you don't do it their way. That's not how true Christians work, my friends.
*gives Shaun a big thumbs up* I love the banner, by the way..
 5.
Originally posted by Rain Heh heh...I say that now...except it's just "I could never be religious". Let's hope I don't end up contradicting myself:nervous:
I thought the same.. the thing is though.. Religions try to become right with God. Christians, however, are saved by God. There is a huge difference, regardless of who is right or wrong. The problem is, there's christians and "christians". The "christians" being the ones who get on everyone's nerves because they think they're above everyone..
 6. "I could never become a Christian. Never. Christians just do my head in. No. Never" oops.. I really misjudged that one ^^;
 7.
Originally posted by James Yeah, that does sound very weird indeed. Just be sure never to let a friend of yours unravel a fire hose and try to put out an invisible fire in the middle of a crowded street... ...I've had my share of weird nights. lol
did I ever tell you about the time I had a fight with a bush?.. No kidding.. I actually fought a bush.. well.. I thought I was fighting it anyway.. yeah I was drunk. ;)
 8.
Originally posted by Acid Um, that was a joke.... But there you are calling my a newbie, it just gets annoying
I think you've missed the point of those posts.. You called yourself a Newbie in that first post, therfore you set yourself up to be referred to as a Newbie.. perhaps it'd be best to refer less to the word Newbie, and more "immature poster", i.e. someone who wants desperately to not be a "Newbie", just so that they are not a Newbie any more. I lost a hundred posts when the NL was taken off. Wow. Big deal. It was odd at first, but it didn't take long to drift down to the bottom of my "things to worry about" list. There's a far shorter way to say this: I suggest you get over it Onto the topic: I'd assume that if James can make a centering tag, then he can probably make the embed tag you were referring to, MK.. it all depends, I suppose, on how controllable it is (in terms of banner size).
 9. Yeah, that's all cool.. I was just waiting for, like.. 3 more intros ^^; out of seven.. anyway.. it'd probably be easier to just start interacting now.. OK.. since Sara and DK's characters seem not to be aware of the spirits, you stay on your own planets. The rest of us will be "drawn" to you.. Bremma and Yoda's characters, make your way to Terra I, Ykonis, make your way to Terra II, and I will too ;) I'm not sure if Sere is here anymore.. if so, then she should just go to either of those two ;) P.S. Thanks for posting the problem, rather than letting the thread go down ;) boy, do I feel disorganised ^^;
 10.
Originally posted by Mystic's Knight I think Deus started this thread as a lighthearted one that wasnt supppppposed to bring up any contraversy...*looks at Deus...* ..well maybe he did .. I dont know...but Boogity boogity! Either way, Argentina is in some deeeeep crap.
Actually.. I think that opinions are a good things.. controversial or not.. so anyway.. yeah.. and regardless of why I started the thread it doesn't mean people have to be limited to my opinion :p so yeah.. carry on ;)
 11. update on my last post Blog: yes I do
 12.
Originally posted by Sara What does 'world bank' mean, exactly? I don't quite understand.
all I know is it's called the world bank ^^; and it lent money to argentina, and presumably does so to other nations as well.. this is the first I've heard of it, too..
 13. Interesting peice of news I saw last night: Argentina are in debt to the world bank, with a debt of something around $800 million.. which was due to be paid back yesterday, but instead, they could only pay back the interest, of around $70 million (the exact figures I'm not sure of.. but it's around that magnitude).. As soon as I read that I had just one thought- "that's not right".. I dunno.. I don't really think it's right to charge interest on a country.. but that's really just my own personal opinion.. so the point of this thread is this: what do you think? with the amount of countries in debt as it is, is it right to charge interest on them?.. by the way- I know Argentina must have agreed to pay interest.. that's not what I'm asking ;)
 14.
Originally posted by amibasuki heh, believe me, it's worked before. sometimes if people are stubborn enough, they have to get hurt before they realize that what they're doing isn't exactly best for them. they need actual proof that it's not good for them before they'll listen.
I think Justin pretty much sums up my point in the next quote. Yes, it has worked before, but everyone like this that I've personally known goes through that sort of thing over and over again, but never actually learns anything from it, even if they say they do. Kind of like nearly dying of alcohol poisoning, saying you'll never get drunk again, and then going to the bar the next day. I've seen way too much of that too.
Originally posted by Justin And then some people have to get hurt again(and again and again) before they get it through their craniums not to put themselves it that situation. But you know, that's not everyone. Sorry; I had to throw that in there. -Justin
15.
"Farscape is a flagship show for The Jim Henson Company. We are proud of its achievements over the past four years, which have included international critical recognition, three Saturn Awards, and a recent Emmy nomination. As always, your show of support is a true inspiration for our company and has been integral to our success. Although SCI FI Channel has chosen not to pick up a fifth season, The Jim Henson Company is in active development on a new Farscape film, an anime project and is currently discussing syndication of this highly acclaimed series. We are eager to move forward with the Farscape creative team in developing new projects that will resonate with our overwhelmingly loyal fan base."
Just found that on Farscape.com.. so yeah.. the show is being cancelled, but it's not all over..
 16.
Originally posted by ::Ex-Soldier:: Being hurt is an experience. You need to go through it, to resist other heart-breakers.
I've never once seen that actually work properly. Yeah, it's an experience, but it's one that ideally I would want people not to have to go through.. and, as I said, I've never once seen that actually work properly.
 17.
Originally posted by Justin I just want to say that first of all, all Christians back-slide from the Lord every now and then. All you can do is pray for her, and if it gets bad enough, show her where she is wrong.
Right on. That kind of reminds me in a vague way of my own recent back-slide from God, which I've recently got out of. The thing is, we often don't even acknowledge to others, and sometimes to ourselves that it's even happening.
Originally posted by Justin Secondly, it's obvious that she is where she should not be. If she's too blind to see that on her own as it stands, there isn't much help to be given. However, I do recommend that you say something to her. She may not like what you have to say, but doing nothing and not getting involved would would take away your right to complain. You can't complain about something if you don't try to change it.
Absolutely. I believe very strongly that if someone doesn't realise that they're going against God, and you don't tell them, then you may as well be going against God yourself. However that does not mean preach to them (and I don't mean to say that you implied that, Justin ;)), sometimes it's just better to talk to them quietly about this sort of thing, and offer help rather than telling them to "get out of it and repent, or go to hell" (which I know you'd never do, that was just an extreme example) (obviously I wouldn't approach the situation in the same way if she was a non-Christian.. but hey.. she's not)
OK.. I didn't mean to quote that.. but doing so was just too funny to edit out..
 18.
Originally posted by Dark_Apocalyps Whats the point of MyOtaku BTW? I dont see a diff between that and Olounge.....
Then obviously you haven't looked hard enough.. there's nothing there at all at the moment.. I'd consider that a HUGE difference
 19.
Originally posted by Lilac oranges Sentinent beings are numberless. i vow to save them.
I have that same thought all the time.. but my definition of "save" is most likely different from yours *points to avatar* Still, I respect everyone's opinions, even if I do not necessarily hold them.
Originally posted by genkai im a fusion of buddhist, christian, and taoist
I don't quite see how that is. I have no idea what a taoist is, but buddhism and christianity are quite fundamentally different. Buddhism looks into the self to find enlightenment, and Christianity looks to Jesus Christ to find salvation, and acknowledges that the 'self' is helpless on it's own. Are you really a fusion of the three, or just more of a pick and mix, choosing to believe certain parts of each?
 20.
Originally posted by Rain EDIT: Wait, I've lost about 100 posts...:flaming:
I can only really guess that all the posts in the Newbie Lounge, when they were deleted, were somehow taken off our post counts even though they never counted anyway. I have no idea why, or even if that is the case.. but it seems the most feasible explanation to me..
 21.
Originally posted by Valen o.O She may be, she may not be... all you can do is give her the benifit of the doubt... or ask her to name one of the Goddesses... if she can't name one of them, she probably either isn't Wiccan or she hasn't been taught about it...
I thought Wiccans were supposed to not necessarily believe in a God.. or are these Goddesses a completely different kind of thing to your standard Religious God. If so, then I have no point whatsoever.
 22.
Originally posted by Mystic's Knight Your Signature contains far more than 8 lines of text in it, uh oh!! :)
I realise that.. ;) I'm trying to cut it down.. I have it down to only ten, by compressing 3 short lines into one long one.. I'm gonna still have to get rid of two lines though.. edit: OK.. I'm down to 8 now anyway..
 23.  Sorry.. I'm not laughing at you there.. I just find it funny that the Newbie lounge has been gone just one day and already the Otaku Lounge is being "invaded" by a Newbie thread.. Welcome anyway.. have a good time (can't not be hospitable).. and yeah.. this doesn't actually go here.. if you click "edit" on your post, you can delete the thread if you want.. otherwise someone else will probably do it..
 24.
Originally posted by AJeh the 'I going to rate yu 1 sta becoz you not like me' people
Hey! And my first thread as Dan_Lucking, where I insulted you all and you all gave me 5 stars.. so I gave you all 5 stars... I'm amazed I wasn't banned...
 25.
Originally posted by Mystic's Knight -Desbreko, Shut up you infidel
now.. I have to wonder.. was that really desbreko, or was it just you, MK?.. I'm inclined to believe the latter.. You can tell it wasn't me because there was no space between the dash and my name, and because my name was in bold, and because my name was at the beginning of the "edit." :p - Desbreko
