1. You know, I looked at the banner a second time, and then it looked "true" red. And then I looked at it again and it looked "orangey-red" again. So maybe it's my eyes or something. O_o;;; Just ignore that color comment, then, because I really think my eyes are freaking out.
 2. Oh, I love the style of silhouttes, I was fooling around with them and my old Subaru avatar a while ago, and I think they look great anywhere. This is no exception. I love how you added the scars to it, as well. The images that you used were very "clean" and worked well for a nice edge, which is important in silhouttes. My only problem with your images is the color red you chose; it's more of an orange-red if you ask me, but it's really not that important. If you love the color, just ignore me and bash me on the head or something. Once again, "The Syk" continues with his famous and most desired banners. You never cease to amaze me on concepts and styles of banner making. ^^;; Hip hip hooray for syk and his uberly cool concept banner!!!!!! ^____^
 3. Cloricus, normally I do not have a problem with your opinions on many topics. And for the most part, I am not upset about your above post in the slightest but do shut up about America and England's army. Don't you dare act like you and your private army is superior to anyone's, because I don't see you risking your *** out there everyday. And on a more factual basis, how can you make a generalization about an entire group of people based on actions of a select few. That's like saying every single Muslim in the entire world is a terrorist! Don't you see, it just isn't correct to make generalizations like that. However, I agree that the excuses of "I was doing what I was told to" are unforgivable and unexcuseable. I heard on the news that one soldier did it for the opposite reason, because no one todl himn what he was supposed to do, which is even worse in my opinion. I am disgusted with those few soldiers who think they can get away with such acts. It soils the name of some of the best young men and women out there, and makes us look worse to the Iraqis, whose suport is much needed right now. Sometimes I wonder why the world hasn't bombed us to oblivion for ugly actions like this. I'm ready to smack those soldiers myself. The damage is done, but I seriously hope that the message of "America doesn't condone these acts" gets across to the Iraqis. I don't want America to be thought of as worse than it already is. I don't think we can really afford for any of the Iraqis to be angrier than they already are with us.
 4. One of the very few perks of being a goody goody is that if I ever want to stay home for a day, my mom believes whatever I say. Of course, I can't take too many days off because then I'm not a goody goody. ^_~ Most of the time when I'm actually sick, I'll still go to school, and either suck it up, or if I'm really really sick, I will call my mom and go home. She works full time, but in my town's k-8 school district (I'm at the HS), and she's tenured so she can take time off to pick me up and stuff. Actually, I don't think I've ever "truly" faked it, but like I said, whatever I say, my mom believes me. Two sundays Ago, the 18th, I was at a wedding and the reception and I went to bed at 12:00 and had to get up at 6:30. I can sleep that late school nights (normally I fall asleep at 11:00) and get up anyways. But, since I went to a wedding I used that as my excuse to stay home. hehe. The other time was in Spanish class with an evil, arrogant, short French teacher. The day before she had given me detention for forgetting my homework, but that night's homework, I forgot, too. And I didn't want to get in trouble again, so I convinced myself that I was sick, and I really looked it, and I was sent to the nurse. And of course, I made sure I missed that class. I think maybe that's called psychosematic or something?
 5. The following wallpapers are supposed to be gifts for members of a message board (not this one). We haven't had a gift item in a long long time, so I decided to make a wallpaper. Before I send it off, I wanted everyone's opinion, and maybe some suggestions on what I could (feasibly)improve. Be aware that this is my first time making a wallpaper! For these wallpapers, I used:

MS Paint
another free image soft ware that came with my printer (kinda cruddy)
The Gimp, which is similar to PS or PSP but free, but it doesn't have ANY filters on it (I don't know where to download them), so The Gimp is basically MS Paint, save for gradients, patterns, smuding, air brushing, and layers.
I have these in their 1024x768 size, but I'm only posting the 800x600 versions. The files are jpgs and I made the file size smaller in GIMP, but it's still rather large. Sorry if the files takes a long time to download; it took me a mintue or two to upload them. Copy and paste the link into your browser. I'm not hotlinking direcly because everytime I ever link to someplace in a post at OB, people can never get to it. http://www.freewebs.com/roxanne/MiscImages/1TVR8x6.jpg http://www.freewebs.com/roxanne/MiscImages/1BLR8x6.jpg P.S.: If you want to use the wallpapers go ahead.
 6. If you're only 11, ReFlux is right, when you hit puberty, you'll definitely grow a lot. Other than that, you can't really do much about your height. I'm 5' 1", and I'm exactly like you, sometimes I really hate my height. But most of the time, I just live with it. I always think of people who are shorter than me, like my best friend, or like my cousin who's 4' 11". Sometimes that helps. ^_^ I would suggest that you stand up straigth and tall, don't slouch! Find other good things about yourself and concentrate on those. If you are happy with the rest of yourself, you'll feel better about your height. :)
 7. I probably know some other disorders, but I'm not comin' up with any right now. I think I have some OCD tendencies (I've become obsessed with washing my hands), but doesn't everyone? My cousin has ADHD, and he takes Ritalin for it. When he doesn't take it, he's off the walls, and can't concentrate at all, but when he takes it, I swear, he's practically lethargic. @.@ I agree that doctors misdiagnose some kids who are just "odd" or "different." And I feel like every sign of one little eensy problem, and doctors are prescribing something for you, when you probably don't have it. This also poses a problem to the people who actually do need help, because they aren't getting the correct attention they need. Kinda reminds me of the "OMG I'M SUICIDAL!!!" epidemic at my school, where kids say they are, but aren't, which takes away from the students who really are depressed and need help. But hey, all this is just my two cents. 0.o
 8. I think SA is what was in the foundation I was using, so that could be why my face is clearing up. Heh. ^^;; I agree with Heezay, if they really did put stuff in it to make your face worse, the media and the news would already know about it. And wouldn't some federal agency (FDA maybe) find out, too?
 9. Lumi! *scolds her* You forgot to tell the masses that Dr. O was not there when the rally was going on. He had no idea about it, and was in a workshop somewhere else. I mean, in another city. lol. None of the teachers knew about it either. I feel like I said this before, but we were going to have a protest on Wednesday when the teachers found out about that on Monday, so via e-mail and phone, the students worked hard to inform everyone the day was changed to Tuesday. I don't think anyone, especially not Dr. O, knew about this, we just did it. The emergency board meeting was on Thursday, but of course no one talked about Dr. O, which was disappointing. They were all bitchin' about the discipline the teachers gave us (not me, thankfully). I mean, normally, I'm sure parents and the like wouldn't have a problem with whatever the teachers wanted to dish out, but the VP said at the end of the protest, loud and clear (he told the student leader of the protest who told the masses) that there.would.be.no.consequences.if.you.went.back.inside.the.school!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I think that was the whole beef that people had. In my opinion, Dr. O isn't getting tenured because "he didn't play the political game", in the words of my mother. I like him because he's so nice to all of the students, and he doesn't judge you based on siblings or whatever (I know that's one reason why Lumi likes him). Besides, how can you not like a guy that personally called every.single.incoming.freshmen. He called us all (of course I was out at the time), and asked how are summer was doing, and welcome to our high school. heh. That's just cool.
 10. There's so many facial cleaners out there, and so many skin types. I think that perhaps your skin is just very sensitive to that stuff, QA. Since (I'm presuming) you're back to the drying soap, I would say, make sure to moisturize. Use something non cosmogenic and hypoallergenic, as well as spf 15. Sun protection is key!!! And if you're worried you might brake out by it, take it out of the box, take off the top, and put a little on your arm (or your face) when no one's looking. Then go around wearing it for a day, and if you don't break out, go back to the store and buy it. What's interesting for me is that I know a bunch of people will tell you that most make up isn't good for you if you have acne. Normally my face is clear, because I use prescription stuff that works really well, but for some reason, my face started to brake out again. And I couldn't stand it any longer, so I put on fountation that has chemicals in it that work to clear your face, and it's getting better. YES!! ^_^ I think it's just that everyone has really different skin, you know? And if you get really frustrated trying to find something that works for you, ask your mom about what she uses. I think sometimes it's a gene thing.
 11. Quotes are always fun. Infact, I have a word document devoted to quotes. lol. *grin* I won't name them all. Here's two for you: "There are no stories that will never end nor are there dreams that you'll never awake from. The deeper the fun is, the deeper the joy is, the more merciless is its ending." - Yohko Yamamoto, Soreyuke! Uchuusenkan Yamamoto Yohko (^ very morbid, huh?) "Oh that I had wings like a dove, for then I could fly away and be at rest." - Henry James. If I'm not mistaken, he wrote A Portrait of a Lady.
 12. This'll probably get closed or something, but birthdays are *total* fun. Happy Birthday, Riku/Ken!
 13. Some of us kinda already did that. Many of the kids (not me because I had to finish two projects) went to the BOE meeting with signs, and a lot of the students and parents stood up, spoke, and made speeches at the BOE meeting, saying that they didn't want Dr. O to leave. Didn't really do any good, so we decided to protest. We definately made our opinion know, so it did some good, in that respect, at least. P.S.: What is with you? I make one comment that you don't like, and suddenly you become a cocky ***, acting like you're the best in the world, and that you are like God. I'm sorry if you don't like what I have to say, but live with it. I made rude comments, you did too. Why can't you be mature about this? I used to think you were actually a nice person, and now I know better.
 14.
Dont forget dingus, it was an opinion. Do you know what an opinion is kid? You do? Ahhhhh thats just swell! Now remember kid, what I said was my opinion. Dont forget that kid, okay? Dont forget what the mighty Winter has told you; it was an opinion. Ah, I'm sure you wont let the mighty Winter down, will you? Of course you wont, right kid? Because you know it was an opinion, right?
Ironic. You say you know what an opinion is, but obviously you can't detect one when you see it, or I'm sure you wouldn't have replied so rudely, you know? ^.^ My reply was an opinion, too, mmkay? Okay. Now I'm sure we better get back to the topic, before a mod beats me with a stick. *_*
 15. Mei and I were "banned" for about a minute, until I IMed James and started incessantly typing at him. Turned out that AOL sometimes says that your account or IP address was banned on OB, when in actuality, it's AOL that makes the mistakes. (We both were using AOL at the time.) LOL. But yeah. It used to happen a lot on the old version, and of course, not now, but the first time it happened, I was freakin' out. lol.
 16. SAVE DR.O!!! XD A lot of kids at our high school did not want our Principal to leave at the end of the year, because the Board Of Education(BOE) wants to let him go/fire him. So, 600 kids out of 900 went down the the football field this morning and protested during periods 1 and 2. The point of it was to protest AGAINST his leaving. We got two news channels there, a shout out on a radio station, and the regional newspaper covering our story and making our opinions known. Plus, the BOE said they'd call an emergency meeting soon to discuss this issue. They have until may to fully resolve it. A couple students at our school also have an online radio of sorts, and usually they play music, but tonight, the whole show is about Dr. O and students can call in and whatnot and voice their opinions. I'm really amazed at how much all of use really like this guy, and don't want him to leave. But that's not my point. My point is, have any of you ever been in a protest, whether it was for somethign really small, like this, or whether it was to protest something big, like the War in Iraq. I want to know! P.S.: If I seem insane, it's because this was my first protest ever. Heh. ^^;;;
 17.
All in all, beauty in people, or anything for that matter, really isnt that important. Date, mate, and procreate. Then die.
That's what you think with your "mighty" attitude. If you want to believe that it doesn't matter, hey, go right ahead, but your thoughts aren't the only ones that count you know. This is really a light hearted discussion, kid, so there's no need to get deeply serious or anything like that. keke. By the way, I'd like to say (AGAIN) that I really find hair a big feature for someone, like Baron and wristcutter. Even when I'm just looking at a girl in the hallway or whatever, I always noticed the way she styles her hair, and I comment in my head, on the styles I don't like. I'm also obsessed with my own hair, because I think it's horrible. It's demented, really, half straight - half wavy, what's up with that? But yeah, hair is very important to me, an important feature. ^^;;
 18. If I said that looks don't matter to me, I'd be lying. But personality matters more. I want this gneral type of guy: Physically:

Must/should have nice hair. I don't like floppy hair, greasy hair, or spiked. I'm like wristcutter - I'm really obsessed about hair.
Has a nice face. I look past the acne, because that can't be helped, but nice eyes, clean-shaven, and a great smile are nice
is taller than me (not hard, I'm 5' 0"), but nobody who's 6/7 feet tall, I'd be craning my neck to look up at them.
Brains:

Intelligence is a key factor. I like people who I can and WILL converse with, not only about everyday things, but also on a higher intellectual level. If your'e not oging to use your smarts, what's the point?
Personality/other:

isn't an arsehole, or wants other girls while he's dating me
Not pressuring me for anything (call me old fashioned but I believe in chastity)
Must be nice, nobody who drinks, smokes cigarrettes, or does drugs. I'd drop a bf like a dead weight if he ever did that.
Funny to some extent. Not a comedian here, but can crack a few jokes once in a while.
Likes to cuddle sometimes
Of course, I've never had a boyfriend because I'm a loser, so what do I know?
 19. I've been looking at the image for five minutes now, and that may be possible. May. It'll take days to do, but I'm going to try. Don't be surprised if I don't get back to this thread any earlier than a week, because of school related issues. Thank you for giving me something to work on. I'm so excited to try this soon (not right now, it's too late for me...)! ^_^ P.S.: The only thing I won't be able to do is make the edges smooth, because I don't have a blur tool.
 20. This should probably be in request, but it's such an odd request, that I really didn't think it fit in. Sorry to Syk3 if you have to move this thread. *_* If anyone knows my images, they're MS painted. I'm getting really bored with the things I'm making in it, because it's always the same routine, I never do anything different. It's quite possible that I've just reached the limits with MS Paint, and can't do anything more, but I don't think that's it. I think I'm not using my brain hard enough to come up with images to make. What I'm asking for in this thread is for a challenge. I want to see if I can re-create an image (banner, avvie, whatever) in MS paint the way it was done in another, much better graphics program. Either post an image you've already made that I can try and duplicate in MS Paint, or describe something to me with a lot of elements that I can make. Please, nothing insanely difficult that took YOU a MONTH to make, but nothing super easy. I realize I could just take banners people have made and recreate them, but I really didn't want to do it without the artist's consent. If you don't understand what I'm "asking" for, tell me. I get the feeling this is kind of confusing.
 21. Much better than your first attempt. There's something seriously wrong with the picture though, the pixels are distorted, like you saved the file oddly, so they distorted themselves. What a shame, because it's really nice. While normally I wouldn't suggest a border so thick for other banners (as in future reference), the choice you made "went" with the yellow, becuase black and yellow just work together really really well. As for the good points about the banner: You stuck to one character, which was really nice. The yellow color was also a good choice, a perfect contrast for the purple hair. Besides, the yellow also made me think that she was on a trpoical beach, which goes well with what you words are. And lastly, the witty words you have there are great. I just absolutely love them - purely awesome. Great image overall, a details to be improved upon (try and get the quality of the image up, if that's even possible), and definately MUCH better than your first image. Go you! ^_^ But hey, what do I know about images? (certainly not as much as the people who make them constantly)
 22. I'm sorry to hear that, hon. :( *hug hug* I really don't know what my own purpose of this thread was (kind of crazy, huh?), but I guess I was just looking for someone to assure me that I'm not the only one who cares about this stuff. Because I felt like I was one out of very few that cared about this subject. I just want to know if anyone else gives a damn about this. And of course, if you want to post anything else, whether about M Creagh, or talk about something that's happened in your, you can certainly go right ahead, but I guess that wasn't really my intention.
 23. If you aren't going to take this thread seriously, I ask you not to speak at all. Get out, leave if you're too immature to deal with this. Today Milton Creagh came to my High School to speak, and I was just blown away by what he had to say. It made me stop and think, and I'm still thinking about it. For those of you who don't know who Milton Creagh (I'm sure most of you don't, it?s okay), he's a motivational speaker, and a lot more. He talks about all kinds of issues, but at my school, he talked to us about alcohol and drugs. If you're never seen him, it's not what you're thinking. "Don't do drugs children" No, he doesn't say that to you. He gives statistics and real, heart wrenching, terrible, and sad stories about what alcohol can do to people. During the presentation, he asked different questions, and at the end, he asked people to stand up if they said yes to four questions. They were about if someone in your family has a drinking problem, if someone in your family is divorced because of a drinking problem, if someone in your family was killed under the influence of alcohol/by someone under the influence of alcohol/was raped by someone under the influence of alcohol, and if someone in your family was killed because of tobacco products. I was amazed at how many people stood up. I knew for a while that a friend of mine had a father with drinking problems, but I looked around, and I saw my best friend stand up for one of the questions (if someone in your family was killed under the influence of alcohol...etc.) and I realized that Mr. Creagh was right. Alcohol and drugs don't discriminate, they don't care who they effect, and all of this is happening right here in my town -- in upper middle class suburbia with snotty snooty rich kids. I was so angry because in the period after (which was lengthened to an hour while the juniors and seniors were in the auditorium), there were some boys talking about it, and one of them was joking about it. I mean, it's like far and few kids in my school really thought about what he had said. And the ones who were affected were the ones that had been affected by Alcohol. I have to admit though, some others were sensitive to it. But I was really effected by what happened, I just thought it was amazing, what he had to say. His website is at http://www.big-milt.com/ if you want to take a look
 24. I agree that there must be many strange creatures in the ocean, but I'm sure there's many more on the surface of the earth as well. I read that there are millions of animals in the rainforest alone that we will never know about, because much of it is so large and expansive. And about cryptozolocigal creatures? I'll keep believing in them until I get some proof they're not there. (What did I tell you, I'm gullible.)
 25. I think I worded my position wrong. I meant to say that I don't believe in a "sea monster" but I think something's down there, whether it's a giant squid or some prehistoric dinosaur. I mean, who's to say that every single one of them was wiped out? There could have been a group of a few straglers. Just take the cealocanth (sp?) for example. Scientists thought it was long gone after they found masses of them off the waters of madagascar. Besides, a lot of our planet is really unexplored, you know?
