Psst! Don't forget to mention me, Kevin. ^_~ J/k, you know it! I didn't do anything 'cept read the script. Well... some of it, anyways. ^^; It's so great that you're going to get your script made into a real movie. But watch out, my sis is entering this film world, too, ya know. Looks like you're going to have some competition. ^_~ Nah, I'm positive you'll make it big. If you're anything IRL like you are online, I know you'll persevere until you make it to the very top out there on the big screen! ^_^ Gambatte! (In my really messed up Romaji world, that's supposed to mean good luck. O___o)

I haven't read everyone's replys to this yet, but before i post my reply, I just wanted to say that I think this thread is great. It's so easy to find what's wrong with yourself, and criticize yourself. It's a lot harder to actually find something you like about yourself, or to not feel self-conscious about something. I think this is great thread, probably one of my faves ever! :-) Physical: My lips. Seriously, I think I have really great, full lips. I can wear any shade of lipstick, from skin toned, to fire engine red, to rasberry, and it looks fantastic. I think it's great that I think I can look spectacularly pretty with lipstick as my only make-up tool, which is wonderful, because I hate most other make-up. x_x Personality: I've been a bit depressed lately, and I feel like I've got nothing important. I thought I was good at playing the piano, but there's a million people better than me. I alway thought I was smart, but I realize my IQ's only 132, and that there are so many people smarter than me. Besides, if I was really smart, I'd be able to overcome my stupid math teacher and wouldn't have gotten a C last marking period. I'm a very caring person, and if you can show me you have a heart, I'll care about you. It seems really stupid, but I feel like that's all I have and don't even like that.

Question (for lack of a better subject title)
Roxie Faye replied to GinnyLyn's topic in General Discussion
I'm not sure it's quite possible for humans to be accepted by everyone if they act what they feel and believe all the time and such. For instance, if you felt you wanted to grow up to be a serial(sp?) killer, and you acted that out, I'm sure not a lot of people would like you for being who you are. O___o I personally wouldn't despise anybody because of their beliefs. If they thought about killing people and thought all the world should go to hell, I really don't care. It's when people act that out that I have a problem... ^^; I think, also, a lot of us don't want to create arguments with others, and sometimes don't voice our opinions for that reason. My personal belief is that if you believe strongly in something, then you should speak up. But then again, that's just what I believe, and that's who I am. Others simply want to fit in, which is okay. That's their choice, and that's fine with me. If they're trying to fit in, then obviously they're compromising who they are. Um... I think I got off topic somewhere... but my main point is that I don't think it's possible to live life always, always being who you truly are, and having others accept that. -
THANK YOU! I am so glad I'm not the only person who's "old fashioned" and doesn't believe in pre-marital sex. I think it's the same thing with both nice guys and girls. I think a true gentleman will not be turned off by virginity. Afterall, if he was, then he isn't a getleman/nice guy, now is he? ;)

Person who created this thread read my mind. I was just going to make a thread about it. o.O Mmm. I'm not going to a prom, persay, but it's an eighth grade dance. It's basically a prom, but not so so SO dressy. I agree that they're pretty stupid and it can cost a lot of money. It takes forever to find the dress you want (I finally found this creme coloured cocktail dress), and then you've got to get shoes for it, and make an appointment to get your hair and possibly nails (I'm doing my own). It does cost a lot of money. Anywhere from $200 - $500 usually. The thing is, I enjoy getting all dressed up for it. ^_^; My family isn't made of money at all, so it's not like I'm a shop-o-holic, but I like shopping around in the mall for a dress, trying on all different ones, and admiring others. I like picking out matching shoes, and flipping through the book at the hair salon for the perfect 'do. I like putting on just enough make-up to make your best features stand out. And of course, the best part is, if you're old enough, you can do all of this with friends, and consult each other every step of the way. I don't wear really trendy clothes, and I hardly put on make up (moisturizer is about it for daily wear), so it's nice for me to indulge myself once in a blue moon. I guess you could say I'm a girly girl in this sense, but it's fun for me to dress up, even if it's just for one night only. ^_^

If you could choose only one new BIG feature for OtakuBoards, what would it be? I have no idea. Don't look at me! Besides, I'm happy with what you have. If you add something, that's great. If not, oh well, I can't do anything about it. *shrugs* If you could only add one new forum to OtakuBoards, what would it be? The banished land for spammers. XD Seriously, I'd like to see a Japan forum, where you could talk about the culture there, J-pop, etc. Get my meaning? x_x Would you like to see a closer link between OtakuBoards and sister site, theOtaku.com? (ie: closer fan art links, contests, etc) No. Doesn't really matter to me. Non-OBers might be confused to what's happening on the main site if you did that, but then again, that would force them to register for OB. ^_~ Would you like to see OtakuBoards open an affiliation program with other message boards? Ummm.... Yes and no. I don't agree with a program, per say because you're only supposed to have a couple affiliates, ya know. But I think it would be nice to see two or three really good boards as affiliates of OB. They should, though, be choosen entirely by Adam, James, and/or CWB. Does this make sense??? Do you feel that theOtaku.com's chat system should be linked to OtakuBoards? (ie: shared moderators, scheduled chat events etc) Not shared moderators (you guys here have your hands tied enough with all you have to do. *_*), but I think scheduled chat events would be nice. Are you satisfied with the level of spam control on OtakuBoards? (ie: do you feel that we need more spam control or less? Or are we just right?) I just sorta "returned" to OB, so I'm not sure how good things are now, but the reason I left was because of spam, so going on that, yes, you need more spam control. Not to be mean, but I got sick and tired of spamming newbies, and around the time I left, more and more were getting banned everyday for spamming. Though, I think it's getting a bit better, lately, just keep up that work. I'd like to see OB the way it was when I first stepped into it at the end of V4, and into v5. :) If you could access OtakuBoards on a handlheld device (PDA, Generation 3 Mobile Phone, etc), would you access it regularly in this way? Nope, because I don't have any of these. Even if I did, I wouldn't. Is it more important to have a large variety of skins, or smaller (and higher quality) range of skins? Colors actually effect how you feel. Red skins cold get people angry, blue is usually serene, total white drive people nuts, etc. To your question, I really don't care, I just want a really sunshiny skin. Even the liquid one is starting to depress me. No offense or anything. @_@ meep *hides from James* Would you prefer to have anime/gaming-themed skins or completely original works? (if you had to choose only one option) Completely original. Do you actively engage Moderators and Category Moderators if you are having problems on OB? (in other words, do you seek out Mods/Category Mods to help you when you are unsure of a rule or something like that) Frequently, no, because I usually don't have many questions. If I do, well duh, yeah. Are you satisfied with OtakuBoards' child protection policies? (such as language restrictions, conflict resolution between members, strict blocking of sexual imagery, etc... - this question is aimed primarily at parents and members over 15 years) I'm not over 15, but I'm not stupid. Yeah, I'm satisfied. Keep up the good work. ^_^

Am I the only girl who doesn't want a bad boy? Is there anything wrong with having a relationship in High School or Middle School that doesn't involve sex? Am I the only girl in the world who actually does NOT believe in pre-martial sex?!?!?!?!?!?!? -_- Great. I'm the only one. I feel so alone. For me, the "nice guy" means your best guy friend that you can consult when you break up with your boyfriend because he wasn't what you thought he was and because he's a total jerk. That's what I nice guy for me is. I think, though, Darkness' is asking about what I like(or don't like) about MY own definition of a gentleman, which is the same thing as everyone else's definition of a nice guy. lol. I like everything about a gentleman. ^_^; It's nicer to have him as a boyfriend because you know he isn't going out with you because his friend dared him to date the ugliest girl, know that you aren't being dated because he only likes your looks, won't make you feel bad, won't put you down, and know just what to do when you get a case of the blues. In my personal opinion, I don't think you can put girls into a category where the majority of us go for one type of guy. I think, instead, certain types of girls go for certain types of guys. Not being stereotypical here, but rather, from my experience (which is limited, so forgive me if I'm wrong, which I probably am. V_V), I think that if you're popular or want to fit in with everyone, you'll probably want a bad boy in the beginning (until you wise up), and if you're the shy girl in the back of the class who still wears sweater sets, then you'll probably be wise and choose the gentleman. I've also learned, or perceived that the old stereotype of guys, where they have to act a certain way (i.e.: open the door for you, always buy you chocolates, and get you a huge thing of roses on Valentines' Day) is pretty much going out of style. Things are more casual today, I think, where relationships don?t have to be one certain way. However, I think I'm the only person left who wants the true romantic, which isn't bad, just means more trouble finding a guy. XD I'm just really, really, REEALLY weird, and I like a romantic guy. O___o

Though he isn't quite an influential director of today's anime world (he sadly passed away in early 1989), I think we all have to give Osamu Tezuka (Tezkua Osamu in Japanese) some credit. Without him anime, yes, would have developed, but probably not as rapidly. For me, and I'm sure for others, I consider Tezuka the "Disney of anime" if you will (incidentally, he started his own production company because he liked the Disney films he saw). Think about it. Tezuka created one of the first mangas (I think in the '50's), "Astro Boy", which later became an anime, in 1963. AFTER Tezuka started his animation company, other producers like Katsuhiro Otomo (Akira) followed his footsteps. He really gave anime the boost it needed to launch itsself into the popularity it is today. Without him, not a lot of other anime directors would have followed. Or, that's my opinion, anyways. (Did any of this make sense? O_o)

For me? I'm a bit wary about meeting someone online. I'm always the cautious one. You know, better safe than sorry. ^_^ Though, I know there's a lot of people ot there who met through he internet and are very happy with each other, so that's great for them. I just don't think it's for me. But this isn't to say that I'm totally paranoid. Or, in coparison to my mum? I'm a rebel. ^_~ Not supposed ot be talking to the people I do. She doesn't even like me IMing people I don't know, so if I ever went out on a date from someone I met over the internet, I'd be dead before I got the chance to go out on the date. *sigh* Did this post make any sense? Sorry if it didn't. I need a little more practice in writing my posts. Haven't written too many lately. >_

Well, I have no knowledge of gaming, and you lost me on whatever gaming explination you gave. O_o It's a very good banner if you like sprites. (Which I really don't, but it's okay. ^_^) Why is it, that the hands on both of them are all cut-off? O_o Nice banner overall, 'cept for that hand part thingy. I never rate art so, imgaine whatever rating you want me to give it. ;P

OOC: Someone please e-mail me if I'm doing this wrong. I've never done an RPG before, and don't know if I'm dong it correctly. They rush off and feed there horses with proper food, put the sattle on the right way, get all armor and equipment on in about 5 minutes and mount horses. Mini-VX: I didn't think that would even work...
Mini-Aran: You're right, it didn't work. I'm still here. It is often easy to forget that I am but a farmer with nothing, not even a DVD player, therefore, a LOTR TT DVD would be pointless. Mini-VX fwapped Mini-Aran Mini-VX: Just... Go tack up your horse and get ready, dammit. Mini-Aran: I don't even have a freaking horse, dammit. I'm an archer. By the way, you spelled "sattle" wrong. :p It's spelt "saddle". Mini-VX hit Mini-Aran over the head with his plastic sword Mini-VX: 'Ow dare you defy my azoritee as a leiutenant! You are under my orderz to get ready for ze next invasion! Mini-Aran: You know, the French accent doesn't really suit you. And can you tell me where Mini-Flash is ... please? Mini-VX: Darn, I should have known the French accent would sound stupid. And you cannot see Mini-Flash, as if he was just an ordinary plushie! You must make an appointment first, to see the Lord Mini-Flash! Mini-Aran(lying): Oh, but I do have an appointment. Mini-VX: May I see your appointment card? Mini-Aran(looking a bit confused): Uh... hold on, I... must... I must go fetch it, yeah that's it, I must go fetch it! Five minutes later Mini-Aran: Here it is! Mini-Aran held up a hand-made appointment card, which, he hoped would pass for the real thing. Mini-VX looked at it closely, as if trying to detect the falseness. Mini-VX: Okay, well then, Mini-Flash is inside the large red tent... ah... plotting. Mini-Aran: Plotting what? Mini-VX: Just... plotting! Now go! Mini-Aran smirked as he walked. Mini-Aran: Sucker. Mini-Aran continued walking towards the tent, suspecting that Mini-Flash's "plotting" was just him playing with plastic plushies, enacting various battle scenes. After flashing his "appointment card" to the soldier plushies standing guard (but doing a very poor job, as they could nottell, either, that it card was fake) outside the tent, Mini-Aran walked inside, to speak to Mini-Flash. As he suspected, Mini-Flash was playing with plastic action figures of Plushies. Looking up to see Mini-Aran staring at him, Mini-Flash hastily shoved his action figures aside. Mini-Flash: Ah... what can I do for you?

Eh. When I was younger, around ten, eleven, I was always so shy when I visied any of my mom's friends (we're all sort of like family). All I could do was laugh nervously and I looked like an idiot. V_V I eventually grew out of that into the chatty person that I am. The only way I know how to remotely try and help someone who is shy about saying hello to others is that, put it in perspective. They aren't going to hit you if you say hello, they aren't going to kill you on the spot if you say hello, the worst thing they can do is not say hello. Is that so bad? It's most likely that theyr'e a little shy, too, but once you say hello first, they'll probably start talking to you and, hey you might even find a new friend. If you get stuck on a conversation, talk about something you like. Ask them if they're interested in anime. And if they don't know what it is, explain it to them. You'de be surprised how many people know what Anime is these days. The first day of school, there was a new girl who was asking our coping teacher if she was in the right room (which she was, because we had coping together), and so I stopped to look at her schedule, and I affirmed that she was in the correct room. She chose the seat behind me, and I asked her if she liked Anime. She said she did, and while we aren't best friends, we're fairly friendly. :)

I offer my condolences, Jenna. I don?t know you that well, but if you ever need someone to talk to, I?m always here, and I mean that. Words that try to make sense of death mean nothing when faced by it, so I am not going to say anything, but you have my condolences.

okay, first time I've posted in this thread. Name: Mistress of the Darkness Magic Type: Dark Type: Sorcerer Picture: (I'll edit this [again] later, with a suitable pic) Effect 1: Wand of Purple Polish Whack - When equipped with the Wand of Purple Polish, this effect knocks out your opponent for one turn Effect 2: Squeaky Mallet Bop - Flip a coin and call it. If you call it correctly, this effect does 100 points of more damage to your opponent only the first time you attack with this card. If you call it incorrectly, this effect does nothing. Description: Ages ago, the real Mistress of the Darkness helped those in the dark. It is said that this card, a tribute to her memory, only aids those people of whom the Mistress of the Darkness feels are worthy.

While I am not trying to wave this off as nothing, because it is a big deal, but you people think that's is horrible? Here's a story that will make you sick. Last week, around Sunday, in Newark, NJ, Police entered a house, after recieving a call. The woman who lived in the house was a go go dancer, and had been struk by a car, and had to be put in the hopsital, so she asked a friend to take care of her children. The friend's boyfriend came over one day, and he heard screams coming from the basement. He went down there to fnd the go-go dancer's children down there. There was a seven year old and a four year old who had been locked down there by the friend who was suppose to be looking after these children. They hadn't been fed for two weeks, but instead, locked down there. Not only that, apparently, the seven year old was a twin, because his brother was found mummified and shoved in a plastic container. The boyfriend called Police, the friend of the mother fled, and the children were rushed to the hospital. It made me sick to think someone could such a thing to youn children. I felt so awful after hearing that on the news. What kind of sick monster could do such a thing?

I agree Ken. If Kevin ever gets back to NYC(which, i cannt auruntee, altoughmy understanding is he's coming back to NYC one time more), I want to show up at his door unexpected and piss him off. XD I need to meet other peoples too, including Charles, Ed(non-OB member, don't worry people), Ginny, Josh, Juu, Ken, and ZeroG. Too bad more than half of those people live so far from meh. If you're ever visiting North Jersey where it's less than an hour into the city, tell me so I can at least attempt to meet you, and possibly scar you f- er.. ignore that last part. ^_^;;;

Liam asked me what I wanted to do in (American) college. I think I'm going to be studying some type of environmental science, maybe chemisry, physics, or biology. I want to be a conservationist. Translation: conservationist=tree hugger. :D Seriously, I want to be a conservationist.

You think you people are planning ahead too much? Look at me. I'm in 8th grade, and already planning my future in the real world. I'm looking at an academy. This it NOT a private school, because thank GOD you do not have to wear uniforms, and you do not have to pay the tuition. Anyone in the county and apply for this school, and the town has to pay for the tuition. They MUST send at least one person who applied, but other then that, they decide how many kids they want to send. The application process is a long one. The first part is a tad bit like applying for college. You must get recommendations from your Guidance Counselor, Language Arts, Math, and Science teachers. It is not imperative that you have at least a knowledge of Algebra, but if you don't, then you don't have a good chance of getting in. I am taking geometry right now, so I'm hoping it will make me seem good enough. The next thing you have to do is right a 500 word essay. This is where it stops being college-like. ^_^;;; Most college essays ask you to tell about a challenge you have had to over come. This essay topic is just about who you are, meaning your personality and your interests. I tried to make it sound like I was well-rounded, while still keeping to the truth. ^_^;;; Then, in January, you go for a test, with a math section, and a writing-essay section. If you make it past that, you and your parent(s)/legal guardian(s) will go for an interview, and you're interviewed both together and separately. If you make it past the interview, then you get in. There's also different academies you can apply to. There's a science one, and there's a medical one, a culinary arts one, an art one. It prepares you for the field of work you want, which means you sort of have to choose your profession before applying. But, it' really no big deal if you change your mind after you start attending, because in the end, it doesn't matter so much, and you can still use the skills and information you've learned at the high school in whatever you want to be. I want to go to this school, because it is very ethnically diverse, and it's a very tolerant school of others, their opinions, and ideas. I also want to go there, because it's very much like a miniature college, it makes you think about time management. There are "mods" instead of periods, and each mod is approximately 18 minutes long. About 3 mods equal one period. You have free mods, as well, and you can only take one mod in your freshman year as an extracurricular course, meaning that the other free mods, you can either roam the hallways(yes, they let you do that), or do your homework. The school day is 8:00-4:30, and so the school encourages you to take those free mods and use them well, by devoting them to your homework(that way you have less when you get home). The school has a very high reputation, and I guess you could say it's an "elite" school. It's been a bit of a hotbed for controversy in the political aspect, because people say it's unfair. They're taking the "Cream of the Crop" out of every district, lowering the districts' scores, possibly making it less appealing for people with children who are looking to move into a district with good scores. However, I see it this way. This, and all education shouldn't be about politics. It should be about the children and helping the children achieve their goals, and if going to this school will help them achieve their goals, them by all mean, they should attend, whether it lowers the town scores or not. To say it?s unfair for those reasons is selfish thinking, if you ask me. The curriculum of the school is different as well, and more grduates out of this school go to Ivy League colleges than any other school in New Jersey, which is the other reason why I want to go there. I figure, if I go there, I'll have a better chance of getting into an Ivy League or Seven Sister College(the lady equivalent of the Ivy League, from way back when, when men and woman had to attend separate universities), and if I get into one of those, it will look better on my resume, when I go to get a job, because employers always look for name schools. This will help me to make my chances better of getting the job I want. Yeah. I'm insane, I guess, planning ahead so much. ^_^;;;

Don't worry, Whirlwind. You probably won't get banned anyways, and all bans are done for a reason. Moderators will give you warnings before a ban is even considered. I can't say I know what goes on behind closed staff doors, but if what James tells us it true, then most bans are talked about and debated by the staff before the actual person is banned.

When Endymion first signed up, I thought his name was Endymon, like a Digimon. ^_^;;; I also pronounced Mitth'raw'nuruodo' name as myth-raw-nah-dow. Know that I know how to pronouce it correctly, I'll certainy try. Before I took the time to stop and pronounce Semjaza's name, it was Semjazel for me. ^_^;;; Now I ponounce it "Sehm-jah-zah Ah-zah-zehl". Still don't know it it's right, but pretty good. I used to say Lady Macadioth as Lady Macdoth. I missed a couple vowels there. Heh. Did I pronounce Cera right? I always thought it was seh-rah, because the "e" is there. Whn M own name was roxieortatiana, I used to hate it being smushed together, because it looks like it says "roxie ORT atiana". -.-

I was treated very nicely when was a newbie, only being chastised by a mod once(and they were very nice about it, too). I was treated nicely when I was a newbie, and I'm treated the same way today. Nothing's really changed for me. I'm still the same old Roxie. I'm not really respected or anything, but that doesn't bother me, either. lol. Sometimes I actually feel like I'm a burden, acting like a idiot, more often then not. >_< And it's funny, how most newbies, whether on this board or another, are looked down upon as little children. I don't judge people here based on their Rank. I base it on what their posts are like. Infact, some newbies are oustanding. I believe Mnemolth is still a newbie, and the post quality, and the level of his posts surpass a few older members. It's all about the quality of your posts. I'd rather achieve an "Otaku" status by thre years of thoughtfl posting, than in three months, by mindless posting of stuff that I'm barely able to get away with, without someone telling me it's spam. Quality over quantity. :-) P.S.: How much you wanna bet I'm contradicting the way I act myself in this post?

OH.MY.GOODNESS! How could I forget such names?!? Okay, actually, I could, because I wasn't thinking clearly when I wrote my last post. ^_^;;; I really like the girl's name, Amarante, which is Japanese. It means "flower that never fades". Not literally, but like Sarah/sara means princess, in that same way, Amarante means "flower that never fades". I like the Chinese name, Da-Xia, which means(meaning the sarah-pricess type meaning. Not the literal translation into Chinese) Long Summer. I think it's a pretty name. Some other boy names would be Leonardo, Diego, Kevin ('cuz it sounds like Ken, as in Ichijouji. ^_^), Davis, possibly Daisuke or Kenji, and DEFINATELY KEN after both Kenny-boy and Kenneh-boy. ^_^ *hugs both Kens* -
Yeah, I saw your erm.. banned status there, at otakuboard, with no S. Just joined yesterday, don't think I'll beh coming back. O.o I'd have to say that OB is a wonderful place on the net, and Through a series of events, I've made some very good friends on here. You know who you are ;) OB is my second board ever, and I've grown a lot under these boards. Though, some scars never fade... My first message board was a Harry Potter one. Quite large. They had a forum called the Department of International Magical Co-operation, where you could post stuff about countries other than America, because a large chunk of the members were American. You'd see threads about Stereotypes of countries, who's from (insert country here)?, etc. Well, the time I was there, was right around the time after Sept. 11th happened. Naturally there were quite a few threads about that topic. Most of them were basically, "What's your opinion, did we deserve it?" type of things. Of course, I'd be the "American" and stand up for my country. The essence of my posts in there were basically "Yes, we have done some wrong things, but no country deserves that to happen to them(This is my opinion, and was used for purposes of telling my story. Please don't get worked up about it, and if you really need to say something about it, either PM me, or start a new thread, but please, let's not get off-topic here, before a mod tells us to stay on track.)." of course people disagreed with me, and basically the whole thread turned into a flame war. The moderator of the forum was, actually one of my favorites, which says something, because she didn't do anything about the flame wars. Two people stick out in my mind, that flamed me and my opinion. They were ugandabend and beevanthemusical (you could not have any spaces or caps in your name. Just numbers and letters). Okay, so what if they flamed me? I should be over it, with my personality, right? Well, not quite. BOTH of them were moderators. They flamed me, they flamed my opinion, and THEY WERE MODERATORS OF MY FIRST MB. THAT is why I have scars, and to this day, I'm still a bit afraid of moderators. You guys are really nice and all, but it's just imbedded in me to be afraid of you guys. So, if you ever see something attached to the end of my post like "this is just my opinion. You don't have to agree with it. Please, don't kill me," you'll know why. OB is so friendly here. I remember posting something in a thread just like the one on the Harry Potter place, only with more intelligent discussion. I believe I totally lost my temper with Ravenstorture, and basically screamed at her, which was NOT the most brilliant thing to do. The next day, when I went to look at the thread, I was dreading it because I expected half the mods to be yelling at me, all the members to hate me, and wasn't sure if James had banned me yet. When I looked at the thread, I was amazed, at how ravenstorture took it. She was actually quite nice, defending her points well against my... erm... screaming. I believe I did apologize, though. ^_^;;; The point of my story is, You guys are really, really nice. *huggles everyone* *huggles James and the mods again* ^______^
