offgame: Okay, I'll stumble accross someone, but I'm still excepting some sort of main plot that would tie the characters together. Come on, literally the elite of OB-roleplayers has gathered into this game - if we can't keep a game alive, then who can? :therock: The trembling Mayu was escorted determinedly to the bondfire. Mayu's horrified first thought was that she was to be burned alive, but then she noticed the crowd was taking her to see an old man, whose one hand was holding a chickenfeet and other was wrapped around an almost naked human girl. The old man looked at the crowd surprised from behind his greasy beard. "Wa awa?" the man snapped, seemingly annoyed of the disturbance of his fiesting. Then the man holding Mayu pushed her in front of the man. "Ewi melessi we huryo kae alaweni", the large man grumbled. "Ah... melessi Nefili... Do-you-understand-me?" the man said slowly, staring at her. The old man could speak her language! Hurriedly Mayu nodded. "Good. My name is Amat. I am the sage of this village. What is your name?" Mayu opened her mouth to answer, but then she remembered she had lost her voice. She touched her throat to resemble it. "You cannot speak? Very strange... Where do you come from? Eurus? Acha? Sakret?" Again, Mayu nodded rapidly. "And where are you going to?" Suddenly the greasy old man looked wise and powerful, his eyes twinkled with knowledge, and Mayu knew he could help her. Help her to get to Forest. Mayu pointed a finger towards the ceiling of the cave. "You are going out of Exile? To Lands Above?" Mayu smiled. She knew she could make it now. To... "F-Forest", Mayu whispered, very thinly, and only the sage could hear her. "Yes, there are many forests in Lands Above. It is almost a one, huge forest." Mayu didn't have a clue what the man was referring to, but she kept on smiling. "You know how to get there?" the sage asked, again with twinkling eyes. Mayu stopped smiling, and shook his head. "So I shall help you. There is an entrance not far from here. Few of the villagers will take you there. But first, would you like to join the fiest? We are celebrating our liberation from the Vahnati." Mayu jerked back, with wild look on her face. The Vahnati? Here? Quickly she shook her head. The sage looked more than a little disappointed, but he waved two men from the crowd to come to him, gave them their instructions, and turned back to Mayu. "At least let us give you new clothes. Your robe isn't good when traveling." Mayu accepted the offer, and in few moments she wore a dress like nothing she had ever wore before. Excluding her face and furry skin, she could have been one of the village women. The two human males - other of them was the same giantic man that had captured her - escorted her as she walked to her dragonfly, and released it. Mayu knew it was meant to live in the dark caves, and the Forest was said to be full of light. Then the men took her to a narrow tunnel. Slwoly but steadily the light in it increased, and soon Mayu saw the end of the tunnel. A round, pure white hole in the stone walls. She didn't even notice that the men stopped as she walked towards the light. It hurt her eyes, but she didn't mind - she just closed her eyes. This was what she wanted, after all. To be free... After adjusting to the bright daylight, Mayu slowly opened her eyes. And the world struck her. She was standing on a cliff quite high above the ground, and the landscape in front of her was divided into green and blue, with mountainpeaks spotting the green carpet below her, and white clouds sailing in the endless blue above her. She was so shocked she lost her consciousness, and fell over the edge of the cliff. offgame: It's not what you think; I didn't kill my character. She's not very high up, and the mountainside isn't very steep. ;)

offgame: Umm, are we really going anywhere in this game? I mean, everybody's just doing their own stuff, and I'm getting a bit bored with just playing by myself... :( Couldn't you make up any general guideline we could all follow, Harle? This is your game...

Ginny, you're right, except I forgot Dagger (automatically put her under Garnet), and Umaro starts with U, so there's really just four "rogue" letters. But it was my mistake, so you got it correct. And sweetreyes, you must mean FF8, not FF7 in your question. (Not that I knew the answer, though...)

There's been some info in few pages that they have earlied the US release date from November to October, but I haven't seen it confirmed. I just thought you'd like to know... I've personally spoiled my pleasure of playing the game (not that I was going to have a chance in many years, though), as I have read the dialogue translation of the game, and I know all about the plot. I know who Paine is, what's the deal with Lenne and
Shuin, the Tidus-look-alike
, and I know the four ways how the game can end (bad, normal, good and perfect ending). So I know! :toothy: (Am I an annoying show-off or what?) EDIT: I obeyed you, Gin, though I didn't know the thing you said was a spoiler. From the beginning of the game
Yuna highly doubts that the man in the sphere Rikku found is Tidus.
Art ~<A fun little project I made for Desbreko>~
Sandy replied to GinnyLyn's topic in Creative Works
No offense, Gin, but my dirty mind twisted the picture so that Des-plushie looks more like a horny dog trying to get on you... *smacks himself for Ginny* I'm really sorry... :bawl: But if I (try to make myself) think about the original purpose of the pic, it really is funny! Not that I know much about your inside-jokes, but that picture shows at least that you have them. ;) And the drawing in itself is *gRRReat*, as always! BTW, have you cut your hair, because you have longer hair in the photos I've seen of you? -
No need to get angsty, blindchild! :smirk: And you really shouldn't shout at Sara, because she can snap you right back - and hard! ;) So keep it calm. But about your art: I'm really impressed! I mean as in WOW-impressed! Those pictures are wicked. :naughty: Are those real AIDS-commercial posters? I mean, are you in some kind of organization, or do you do those just for... eh, fun?
-
You were inspired by Family Guy, and the result was that? Twisted... The picture is beautiful, but isn't the guy more angelic thank vampiric? Except for that little toothie that glimpses from between his lips. Cute... :D Consider yourself talented, Mal! ;)

A: Four-slots! Uh, a question... Q: FF-character alphabets! This question tests how well you know alphabets (from A to Z), and how well you can combine them with the main characters in the mainstream Final Fantasy games (from FF1 to FF10-2). The task is to list the alphabets, and find each one a character that starts with the letter. NOTE: There are 5 letters that no character begins with, so be sure to list them as well. Have fun! :toothy:

Through endless caverns Mayu flew, not knowing where she was headed, or would she ever reach the world of his dreams. Finally she admitted to herself that she had to make contact to some of the dwellings that went by more and more frequently below her. The biggest problem, however, was her muteness. Mayu knew she couldn't speak anymore. She could not make contacts to anybody - she had been alone for too long. Another problem was that when she descended to take a closer look at the villages, she noticed they were mostly inhabited by Humans and Sliths. She saw only few Nephils, but they seemed as distant as the humans. Their clothing, speach and even the way they walked had nothing in common with the Nephilim of Sakret. Three times she got near the fires of the villages, and in each time she returned to her dragonfly no wiser. But in Exile, it was the fourth time that told the truth... Once again Mayu crouched silently behind a boulder just outside the range of the lights. There was a fiest at the village, and all the villagers were gathered around the grand bondfire set in the middle of the few dozen houses in the village. All villagers, but one... "Tarteyo, melessi, guye waheru wa?" asked a cheery voice behind Mayu. Taken totally by surprised, Mayu turned around swiftly, glanced the young, smiling female human horrified, and tottered away hurriedly, hoping to make it to the dragonfly before the other villagers noticed her. But it was too late. "Guyro wehe?" shouted the astonished woman, and her voice attracted other humans - tall, muscular men - to run towards the voice. Desperately Mayu tried to climb over a rock, but her long robe decided to crack just then, and she fell down, right in front of the humans. An especially muscular hand grabbed her and lifted her up. She stared the gathering crowd with her light-blue eyes wide open from fear. "Awe Nefili..." gasped an older woman behind the large man holding her. In case you're wondering, the language the villagers use is non-sense, but it's not exactly random... All the sentences have a meaning.

Art Inspired by FF: X-2... (aka, proof GinnyLyn can do more than just cute)
Sandy replied to GinnyLyn's topic in Creative Works
Heeey, don't you dare to quit, Ginger!! I just found this thread. I remembered you mentioning you had a project like this, but I only now came to search it. Sorry... But you know how I'm totally obsessed by FFx2 nowadays (been listening to Real Emotion and 1000 Words for a few days), so you better keep this great idea up! By the way, I found the site you told me about. It's back online! Note to anybody who cares: the site is www.ffx2online.com, and you can find excellent info about the upcoming game there, like the pictures of all the dresses. Would you like to do a "Final Dress" for Aurie too? Hmm, what should it be like... *thinks about what Yu-Ri-Pa's Final Dresses were like* Something three-parted... Hey, maybe if Auron had Jecht's and Braska's head pop out of his shoulders!!! :excited: Eh, bad idea... But please keep going! Just for me, perhaps? :toothy: -
Oh life, you are disgusting!!! *shocked* ... Though funny in a very nerving, pervertic way... :smirk: Poor babies... :( Just promise me nobody will make jokes about dead kittens - not to mention bonzai kittens! Cause if you do... *hisses, flashing his claws* Oh my, these three cats around me are really starting to affect me... Wonder if I can manage with them for a another week and a half...? :faint:

Damn... it sure is lonely here in the day! (and morning)
Originally posted by Change "If I knew the cause of my ignorance, I would be a sage."-Bruce Lee
Hey, watch who you're calling ignorant! :smirk: Jokey, jokey... As it says in my siggy, for the next week and a half (that was few days ago when I wrote the line in my siggy), I have 24 hours limitless, fast and most importantly free internet-connection, so for now I visit here every few hours. It's because currently I'm at my sister's to take care of her three cats while she and her fiance are on a vacation. I really have no idea what time it is there in US, but it's now 10PM (or rather, 22 o'clock), here in Eastern Europe time zone. What genius made those up, anyway... It would be much more fun if everybody had the same time, like somewhere the midnight would be in the evening. Te he, funny... :toothy: -
In my opinion both Juuthena and Deedlit were too... how do you say it... unoriginal, and their poems contained a little too much clichés. Also, the rhythm was balanced, though rhymes sounded correct. Zidargh was more original, and the ballad-like structure in his poem was interesting. So my vote goes for him. :)

For now I live with my granny (dad's mother), but I'm moving out in a few months because of my "civil service" (don't know the English term, but it's an option for army, which is compulsory in my country) starts, and it requires me having a job somewhere, and I was thinking I could move away at the same... Okay, now this just went confusing. Anyhow, I've lived with my granny ever since I left home (yes, I escaped the hellish life in home), which was a little over three years ago. We've had our ups and downs with granny, but she's the closest thing for a mother I have. She's rather young, also, just 65 years old. *just realizes granny had a birthday yesterday and hasn't congratulated her!!! Yikes!* My granpa from dad's side died two x-mases ago, but both of my grandparents from my excuse-for-a-mother's side are alive - though everybody have divorced from each other a long time ago. Generally I'm not much into old people. some of my friends think they're sweet and adorable, but I've seen too much of the other side of being old - the crankiness, the biggotry and judging attitude, not to mention traditions! *hates traditions* I wish I could remain young until I die, but I guess growing old is just inevitable. In fifty years I'll be all grey and pale, murmuring about the habits of the youth of that time... *shudders* Horrid... :nervous:

Meh, I got Ravenclaw, but I'd really wanted to a Hufflepuh... Oh well, you can't have everything in life! But I find these quizzes/tests rather unworking, because you can pretty much see the result by looking at the answers. Like this one quiz I took: "How straight/gay you are?". There were two questions: 1) You're a a) boy, b) girl; 2) You like a)boys, b)girls, c)both. Go figure... :smirk:

As many caves and tunnels were left behind, Mayu felt delightment growing in her heart. She had already gone past the point where she was captured when she tried to escape. Now she knew her father couldn't send anybody to chase her, as all the Nephilim in Sakret had been massacred. But Mayu also knew she had to keep going, because the Vahnati wanted - no, they needed - the Eclipse. The shard of pertified mana beated tenderly at her neck. She could feel it was full of power. Mayu's excitement grew even more when she thought about the surface. Before the Lands Above had only been a myth, a story told by the few Nephilim who had been there. Mayu had heard about Forest. It was a place where everything was green and full of life. Mayu decided to go there, to Forest, and live there with the lifeforms that dwelled there. Once again, Mayu sang as she flew on the dragonfly. She sang from pure joy, and the song echoed in the caves that went past rapidly. It was dark everywhere. Only some pits of lava lit the caves. Twice Mayu saw a city far away - small dots of fire gathered together to light the stonewalls. But she decided not to go near them. She wanted to reach Forest as soon as possible. And she sang to make the dragonfly fly faster.

Writing Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix
Sandy replied to Queen Asuka's topic in Creative Works
JJRiddler: my avatar is one of the X-Men, called Zeitgeist .That's really all I know about him, but I think he looked cool/hot, so he is now reflecting me. :toothy About Neville:
I think, if I make another one of my theories, there might be a moment in the upcoming two books where Harry tries to force the responsibility to Neville by telling him he could be the one in the prophecy, but then everything goes wrong, and Harry is assured that he must be the one to kill Voldemort. Was there any symbolism about both Harry and Neville seeing the prophecy when the glassorb broke, though they didn't hear what the ghost said? (This just reminded me: wouldn't it had been more reasonable just to write down the prophecy? :smirk: ) Another thing what struck me was when Dumbledore told Harry that he must kill Voldemort or be killed, and Harry was actually worried about commiting a murder? Geez, what a hero...
-
Or maybe this thread ought to be closed... It's just making people (read: me!) angry AND sad. I just hope that people in my life aren't like some of you, because in that case I'll NEVER come out of the closet...

Please somebody hold me back, because I'm about to do what they usually do in Jerry Springer!!! :flaming: ARGGH!!! *breathes heavily, repeating: "No flaming, it's against the rules... Oh, I ought to just... You... GAH, I won't even bother to comment on that, I just wanted everybody to notice. Oh, I'm so ANGRY! Just leave us be! Just to let you all know something about my character, I'm going to add here the sign-up I PM'ed Harle about this game: name: Mayu N'Mithra age-group & gender: young female race: Nephilim (see, no "half this, half that"-stuff! ) trade: Songstress (singer at religious ceremonies, whose song is considered a holy prayer) biography: Mayu is the daughter of the Highcleric and the Highsongstress of the Nephilim, and from her childhood she has been trained to become the next Highsongstress after her mother. She has been raised to be obedient towards her elders, and she has never seen the world outside the Underground Nephilim City of Sakret (a twist from human-word sacred, the true name is too holy for common words). However, when Mayu grows up to a beautiful maiden, her curiosity grows as well. Soon she cannot bare the walls of the temples she has lived her whole life, and one night she decides to defy his parents and makes an escape. However, her father sends a searchparty to find her, and after a week of running Mayu is captured and brought back to Sakret. As a punishment she is forbidden to contact anybody from outside the temples. Within a year of isolation and loneliness, she falls silent. She never speaks, and one can only hear her voice when she sings in a ceremony. But that all is about to change, when Sakret is attacked... description: Feline creatures as Nephilim are, Mayu is covered by white, silky fur inherited from her mother. Her eyes are light-blue, same shape as cats. She is small in size, and her build is fragile. In the temple she wears the white-and-golden robes and veil of the Songstresses. other information: Mayu carries no weapons, but she knows many songs that can seal and paralyze the many monsters of Exile, and she is skilled in healing, as she was raised in temples. * * * Mayu saw them. She saw them before anybody else did. She also heard the silence that fell upon the city of Sakret before the chaos bursted. Then a heavy explosion! In her mind Mayu saw the main gate collapse, and an army of Vahnati rushing in, slaying every living soul that got in their way. It was totally unexpected. The Nephilim of Sakret didn't see it coming. Mayu's father had told her that the Vahnati people were no longer a threat like it had been forty years ago. But how long he had been... Mayu couldn't know the reason why the Vahnati wanted to destroy the marbled city of Sakret, an isolated city in the dephts of Exile (as humans were known to call this underground realm) that didn't pose a threat even to cavernworms! But now the destruction had come. Mayu saw it behind her closed eyelids. Men, women, children screaming, being slaughtered by Vahanti spells, being crushed by collapsing towers that had been scraping the ceiling of the cave. Nothing could stop it. Mayu saw her father's Clerical Army running from where-ever they had been, but they were slaughtered just like the newborn babies. Mayu knew that this was the end. And she sang. The song was heard all over the city, and the Nephilim still alive heard it, and gasped in amazement. "Our Songstress..." they sighed, before a fireball burned them alive, or they were frozen to death. Many were the spells of the Vahnati, and each were as horrible as the next. And Mayu sang. She continued singing when the Vahnati reached the temples, slaughtered the priests and priestesses, and Mayu's fellow Songstresses. Finally the Vahnati reached the High Chambers, were the Highcleric and the Highsongstress - Mayu's parents - were hiding behind their elite soldiers. But the soldiers were no match, and soon Mayu's father and mother were facing the Vahnati. "Why?!" Mayu heard her mother scream. Mayu saw through her mind how the Vahnati turned to the Highcleric. "Where is it?" one of them asked. The others chanted after him: "Where is it?" "W-what do you mean?" the Highcleric babbled. One of the Vahnati turned swiftly to the Highsongstress, and struck her to death with a lightning bolt. "Where is what you stole from us?" the Vahnati intruder repeated, and the others chanted in chorus again. "Where is what you stole from us?" "No... no... no..." the Highcleric moaned as he crouched to her dead wife. "I WILL NEVER TELL YOU!" In the instant Mayu saw her father being slayed by a sway of a hand. The Vahnati scathered from the High Chamber, and Mayu kept singing. She was now the only living Nephil in Sakret. And she knew the Vahnati would come to her, to regain what they had lost. To regain what Mayu held in a chain in her neck: the manashard named "Eclipse" - a shard from the huge crystal of mana that once gave the Vahnati their powers. They needed all the shards to restore the manacrystal, and to restore their powers. For the powers that the Vahnati had were nothing compared to the powers they used to had, Mayu knew. But that was the reason why the Vahnati couldn't have the Eclipse. That was the reason why Mayu had to leave the ruined city. And Mayu stopped singing Serenely Mayu rose from the floor of the shrine where she had been during the chaos. She sang a different song, and the painted glass window behind the altar was broken as one of the Highcleric's blue dragonflies flew from it. Mayu petted the dragonfly's scales tenderly. It was a beautiful creature, though it had little in common with the magnificent dragons who dwelled in the Lands Above. The dragonfly was a mixture of a lizard and an insect: long, opaque insectwings were attached to a slender, almost serpent-like body. It was just the size for one Nephil to ride it. Mayu mounted it, and just as the Vahnati entered the shrine (because now there was no song that made the door invisible), Mayu flew out of the window at the back of the dragonfly, the blue manashard Eclipse gleaming in her neck. And once again, Mayu sang, and none of the Vahnati spells came even close. Soon the spells stopped - as though cruel and extreme, the Vahnati were far from stupid - and the dragonfly lef the huge cave where the magnificent city of Sakret had once stood so beautiful and proud.

offgame: Nice piccies, Gin! :toothy: But you don't have to worry about me - I've pretty much spoiled myself with FFx and FFx2. That means I know, man, I know. :excited: (Thanks to the various dialogue translations ;) )

Writing Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix
Sandy replied to Queen Asuka's topic in Creative Works
I read the book too (in about three days), and I have to say - as a speaker of a language other than English - that the text was almost amazingly easy to read. I've read the previous four in Finnish, so some of the names were a bit hard to track, but the language didn't prevent me from enjoying the book. Now to my comments:
D_M: But Hermione does kiss Ron in the book! In a friendly way, of course, but Ron's ears blush nevertheless... Teenage boys... And was I really the only one that got irritated by Harry's angsty mood?! Sure, teenage is a good phase to let it all come out, but it was a little exaggerated. And then to the Sirius's-death-thingy: do you really believe he's gone for good? I mean, the man fell to a dimension gate of some sort, and everybody just automatically assume he's gone? Even such intelligent characters like Dumbledore! Seriously, if Rowling would've want to delete Sirius, she probably would have made him die while covering Harry or something... Trust my word, Sirius will make a comeback!!! Though I didn't even like him very much... I'm a catperson, see? ;) And then to Loony Lovegood: I was a bit confused why Rowling wrote her in to the story at first. She seemed to have no relevant purpose that any of the existing characters couldn't have. Then it hit me: she has to be Harry's future crush! When she gets a little older and less weirdball, then... Though I'm not sure if she will be "the one" for Harry - there's always Hermy and Ginny. But mark my words when I say that the next book says something like: "Harry saw Luna descending from the Hogwarts Express, and first he didn't recognize her. She had really changed over summer..." And blah blah blah. ;) And Umbrige woman will perhaps return as well - not as a teacher, no way, but she might get controlled by V-V-Voldemort. (is it really that hard name to say? :smirk: )
So what do you think about my theories? *turns on Frasier-voice* I'm listening... -
I'm trying to see the reason why you, Shinobi did such a thread in the first place. You had to know it would turn out this way! Luckily nobody has yet brought up religion... So you have a problem with two guys having sex? And you admit (between the lines) that you are actually worried a guy might make a pass at you if gays are allowed to "run rampant"? Like any self-respecting gay would try to hit somebody who loathes them as much as you seem to do... Ah yes, and the lesbian issue. That's what I've always wondered: why does seeing two (or more) women licking each other arrouse men so much (so that suddenly even the precious Bible is forgotten)? I wondered why it didn't turn me on at all, but then I learned I was gay/bi/whatever too(haven't really decided yet - it's the lack of experience ;) ). I'm not saying that you're automatically gay if you don't like watching lesbian sex, but that's how it occurred to me. Transtic was absolutely right about the lesbian sex in pornfilms: you'd do anything with the amount of money you received from acting in such a film! Though I'm not sure about the women in the movies not being lesbian - I think most of the people can go either way without being disgusted. Being gay to me is quite confusing. I mean, I can't really picture me in a relationship with another guy, but I'm not very sexually turned on by girls - though of course I can admire female beauty. Things just aren't so black-and-white, even though you'd like them to be... PS. This shows how easy it is to confess in the net - even my friends and family don't really know. :smirk:

Katrina sat by the stove in Gladius's house. The man brought her a mug of hot tea. Cat: "I thought you knights only drank mead and strong ale?" Gladius: "It used to be that way back in Diadem. Our drinking sessions led to many unwanted offspring, among other things." Cat: "You have children?" Gladius: "Probably. I never bothered to find out. Well, most of them are probably dead by now, because of..." Cat: "Jeric, I know..." Gladius saw Katrina's face darkening. Gladius: "Princess, I'm sorry! I was inconsiderate..." Cat: "It's alright... Actually, I'm no more a princess anymore as you are a knight." Gladius: "Because of Jeric." Cat: "Because of Jeric." The two sat a long time in front of the fire, gazing at it, both sunken to their thoughts. Inside them, wrath grew even stronger.

Why don't you just call them... cactuars? *confused* What's wrong with the name cactuar? It's describes them better than bocos... Ah well, it's your club... But about the topic: The different colored chocobos appear only in FF7 and FF9. All the other games have only yellow ones. (Though I don't know about the really old ones) In ffx2 you use Machina to go to places you can't access using the airship Celcius, though some chocobos do appear in the game (because Chocobos live in Spira as well).
