Originally posted by Transtic Nerve Actually, when refering to specific letters, you use "an" in many cases, the exceptions are like C... just say it out loud and you know it's weird... "I got an C on my paper." Doesn't sound right... "I got an F on my paper." Sounds right. "I spell my name with a M".... see sounds wrong. "I spell my name with an M." Sounds much better..If it's a high sounded letter, like C or D... you use "a"... but like lower duller sounding letters, like M or F, you use "an".
But I don't read FAQ F-A-Q... I read it what it sounds like :p [Phack...]

Hah. I am slightly blurred into closing this thread...gah. I don't really like Math, but, it is something that is certainly needed for life. So I live with it. And also, this year I do like my Math teacher, he's actually quite a good teacher, and seems kind and nice and so on. So there.

I recently purchased a poet's guide to poetry book thing, and I've been reading it and trying to improve. So, this first poem is taken from one of the exercises, and is written in blank verse. A few of the others are experiments with enjambment (basically, skipping and going to another line during a sentence), and some tries and juxtapositions... Death Is For Love Part II Through the gates I will come, and there will find The rain pelting in my ears a tune grim. Whence found inside, the rain will linger beside, And he will tell I about a tale or two. But the rain is but a hiss for me here, And my time lies in these blocks of stone. My time lies in the writ taps from the rock And all other dirt earth stories wrought afore. I see the flower of my loved sway here, I see ravens caw as they fly and wonder. Looking at the grave, my loved, I wonder If even the ravens cry, if they even cry death. Death is such bitter-sweet, loved?I think the ravens Even taste it, all their black. Loved, I have come Here now, and the rain asks tears as it pours. The rain is fellow here, I visitor. I walk along my way here as the thunder Booms forked tears rained in sullen cloudy shame. Passing as I do by your grave, my heart Feels dead and the rain pours gone down my cheeks. Bitter-sweet the rain tastes, and I see our flower Sway here. And the ravens' touch is as cold on I as is to the dark clefts of your lips. My kiss is forever yours, forever yours, loved. I will be missing you now, I know it sure As the ravens will . I wish you were here, loved, I would wrap my arms around yours, and say hushed in your lips, softly, that I love you. The way dawn of the ravens is not so kind. Even as they watch me from on those gates, Even as they watch me from on your grave, I will still have you forever, love, forever. Looking In I look in deep Into the cloud-starred. I look in deep Into the water-reflect When I get there I know there's more, I know there's less. When I get there I know the stars are closed, I know the water is opaque. Just looking, That is not enough. Just getting there, That is not enough. Water is cohesive To the touch. My hand is on it, All it is is all I feel. The stars seem to wonder As they bright. My hands ethereally touch, All it is is all I feel. I look, Where has it all gone? Where has it all been? Just looking to the touch, Is that enough? The stars twinkle, The water reflects, Is that enough? Into the distance Going the deep? My hand is on it. I touch, beads matter in appear, Into the distance water imbues. I touch, light blinds as distance Disappears as ghostly stars flew. Into the water, Stars wrinkle as sense is real. Cohesion melds, Distance is all I am seal. Touch is feeling, Numb as water crystallize. Deep black bright, Dank as devoid. Take my hand here as I hold. Hold here as I dream, Maybe water-reflect will, Maybe cloud-starred, too. Into the distance, Far away as touch is surreal. Into the reflection, Far away as stars touch feel? Won't you take a cohesive? Won't you take adhesive? Far away, so far away, I feel something touch that is real. Deep as black smote, Numb as ice something is real. The ice is slosh here in the water. Something is real? Far away as I touch, surreal. The water reflects into my eye, The stars twinkle into my eye. Something is real? Far away, so far away, How numb, how surreal, The clouds echo in suave appeal. The water reflects in, distanced close is real. The clouds echo in suave appeal, Here I stand, winds swept on Coldness blacked into finding. Into the distance, There I must go. Something is real Into the distance. So far away Something, there's No feeling surreal as this. Into the distance? That is where I go. To find something real. I'm guessing you're around fifteen or so. I can tell you you sure as hell won't find true love at the age you are at. So don't use the 'L' word. It's much to strong for what you are trying to say. Just call it infatuation. The 'L' word isn't even yours to use in such this case. You love your parents, but that isn't truly a deep love. So really, I can't explain what true love is, but I can point out and tell you that most likely this isn't. So...erm...take Cal. Give him a ride. Here's to CWB: Have fun with cal!

Age really doesn't matter as long as they are mature enough, and seeingful enough to know what and why they are doing.
Originally posted by Semjaza Azazel The Silmarillion is interesting because of all the backstory and history it provides. It was pieced together from J.R.R. Tolkien's notes by Christopher Tolkien (I think that's his son), and as such there are discontinuties in it... It probably reads more like a history book than was planned because of this. It's by no means bad, but I don't recommend reading it unless the other books involving Middle Earth are still fresh in your mind.
Yes, it is not centered on one certain character, and is written seemingly like a historic accounting, as you said, Semj. It is also confusing at times with all of the names to remember, but all that takes is a little back trek or looking in the index and things to refresh one's mind of who a certain character is. Basically, The Silmarillion tells of the ages before those of The Hobbit, and The Lord Of The Rings. Someone could certainly read this before, but I don't recommend it. So basically, it tells of how the three races were created, tells of mythology-like gods, tells of the account of the creation of the god-haven Valinor, and basically just all anyone would want to know of what happend pre-LoTR. It is a very good book, although boring in parts, it is quite interesting and I recommend it to anyone who wants to know further of Middle-Earth. ;)

Hmm...I really don't understand quite what you mean by efficent, it's kind of a broad word that can be taken many different ways. So for the count, I'll just say what my favorites are. I really like the Materia system in Final Fantasy 7. I think that, along with many other things, were what made it a good game for me. I also love some of those insane combos you can make with materia, heh. I used to have a strategy guide that showed a few that I lost to my friend....and man, those were some crazy combos. Not to mention the level of personalization that system allows as well. The magicite one made FF 6 a lot easier that it should've been. Here I am, at the end of the game. I go to the forest, and just train the beejesus out of my characters. Now they are almost all level 99, with every single spell in the game. Just makes the game way too easy. And then, with exp. eggs to increase the process, and also economizers to totally make MP obsolete. Oh, and not to mention the stat-improving additive of having certain magicites equipped to a character. A rather not well-balanced system if you ask me. But sweet anyways, heh. The junctioning system of Final Fantasy 8, when it goes to the junctioning magic thing, just got way too tedious for me. i did like junctioning aeons (Sorry, I can't remember what they're called in 8, been awhile) (They be called GF's, Smootch - Tasis) But really, I hated the magic drawing system when I get down to it. Although somewhat intuitive, I'm sure they could've found a better way of using it. The Sphere Grid in X was quite intuitive and was very well in its own. It really gave me a sense that I was actually gaining abilities on a set way, and that there were many other avenues to follow and achieve. 'Sko, if I were you, I would at least give X a try. Oh, I'd love to try FFX, it's just that... Well, I don't have the money for a PS2. >_< - Desbreko Anyways...so there's a small rundown about what I think of a few systems in the Final Fantasy universe.

The Hobbit.
Originally posted by Juuthena I never finished 'The Silmarillon', because it was just waay too confusing right off the bat. This doesn't sound like a type of movie I would enjoy. To me, death should never be a funny thing. Never... I do like atmospheric elements, which are in this movie...but, I also like a deep and thought-provoking plot...and there's better movies out there anyways.

[Another first post...] And one with very little content, lol. :p I don't suppose you could tell a little more about why you like LTP? - Desbreko FINE I say Link To The Past. Always an old school gamer, always. This is the first Zelda game which I played, and the first which I beat. I don't know exactly what made it better for me than all the rest, because all of the rest still capture the same magical essence and stuff that made this game good. Mainly I liked it the most because it was the first one which I had played, and also because it's just..erm...:Glares at 'sko: 'Sko, care to tell me why you...nevermind...:walks away from topic:

I think we all tend to keep the same names. But it does add replay value... Especially those awkward moments you can get from naming characters silly things...
I should really start a new game on 7 or 6 and rename them all Otakuboards members and then talk to those select Otakuboards members like they are the actual character and then confuse myself and everyone and all...

This one's written in dedication to Juuthena, I read on her blog she'd broken up with someone...so, yeah. And anyone else out there who needs it... I Close My Eyes You Felt So Alive You flew so very alive, Like a feather blowing in my mind. You flew so very alive, And it's like you never had wings. You feel so alive, You flew so very alive. Like a feather blowing in my mind, You flew around, so very alive. I look at you, and I look away. I look at you, and I look away. Your eyes' aura is burning blue with cries, And you feel so very alive. I watched it all, Now I've looked away. Now I look away, I saw you die in change. You feel so very alive, The wings you've now chose merited, black-hued. I look away. The change has blown me away, And it's like you never had wings. It's like you've never had wings, How you feel so alive. Never did I think You changed At all. Never did I think You'd give up your Wings for it all. I watched the change in you, It's like you never had wings. How you feel so alive, How you fly so low, yet disillusioned, high. I saw you change, and I shut my eyes. I saw you change, and I shut my eyes. I shut my eyes, your wings are gone, I shut them tight, and I look away. I shut them, and I'm blown away. It's all dead, care to wonder why? Your wings are gone, Care to think what it was like to fly? My eyes are shut, And can't you see the change, Can't you feel so dead and alive? It's like you never had eyes. You changed, All of you has changed. It's like you never had eyes. You opened your eyes, And I saw you change. I looked away, It's like you never had wings. How you feel so alive, How you die on the glass. How you blew me away. And you died, It's like you never had wings. It's like you never had a beating life, Never had a heart inside your veins. How you feel alive, How do you? You changed, How didn't you see? It's all blacked in you, How do you see? How do you fly, How? Without wings? I look away. I watched the change in you, It's like you never had a heart. It's like you never had eyes, Like you never could even see. I set you on the glass, I left, and watched you fly above. I shut my eyes, And it's like you never had wings. I set you on the glass, Watched the shards crack, Watched them blow, I saw the crystalline mosaic, And I looked away. Now you feel so alive, I watched the change. I shut my eyes, It's like you never did. It's like you never had wings. I shut my eyes, and you're gone. I shut my eyes, and I look away. How you feel so alive, I watched you change. And you died, It's like you never had wings. It's like you never had a beating life, Never had a heart inside your veins. We tried and tried, And I looked away. We tried and tried, You died, flew off, Changed. You changed, It's like you never were alive. How you feel so alive, Like you never could even see. I shut my eyes, your wings are gone, I shut them tight, and I look away. I shut them, and I'm blown away.
Originally posted by Sara Elton John; Crocodile Rock. Heh. This song always makes me smile. My mom is a huge Elton John fan, and I remember being in the car with her as a little kid, listening to her belt out this song as we drove around the city, hunting for rummage sales. It's just a fantastic happy memory...
I usually listen to music while I write a poem or whatnot. It helps to get my escaped into my own world, and adds somewhat an edge to my feeling. I like that song, too[Crocodile Rock]. Good song to get one in a at least somewhat cheery mood. I also like Candle In The Wind, that's a great song to use when trying to open some kind of sadness in my heart. Anything Pink Floyd I love to listen to. Especially Comfortably Numb, that song just is so wandering, it makes you think about the past, and pain, and so on. Also Learning To Fly, Sorrow...basically any Pink Floyd song. Erm...yes. I don't really have just one song I listen to and turn to all of the time, I change what I listen to so often I really have to keep deversifying what I listen to, or else it gets old. Of, course there are exceptions...
