1. Hmmm... I have two characters I want to use and it'll be really tough deciding which one to RP... *takes 15 minutes to decide* OK, here goes: Name: Ametite Race: Harpy. Many people often have different opinions about this race's characteristics, but they are basically perfect crosses between humans and birds. The females are very different from the males--the males look more like angels and are much less aggressive. A typical hapry in this RPG's purposes would look something like this, but sometimes their skin or feather colour is different. In Ametite's case, her skin is a grayish purple and her feathers a dark indigo, plus she looks a little older than in the picture. Age: 16 Gender: Female Faction: Black Falcon Personality: Ametite is determined to stick to anything she enters out of interest, including any sort of conflict or war. In most cases, she doesn't rest until whatever it is is over, or in some cases to plan things out. Speaking of which, Ametite rarely acts directly or on command, but rather takes others by surprise or invents creative strategies to things. When against an enemy, she'll sneak behind its main lines of defense and try to get at the source or weak spot. Weapons/Abilities: To be a successful fighter, Ametite's hands must be free, so weapons are far from necessary. Apart from the claws, the cunning stealth, and all those other racial characteristics, Ametite also has hypnotic abilities, which range from simple suggestion to mind control depending on user and target's mental status. Bio: Not too long before Ametite was born, a large flock of harpies immigrated to the Mystic Star Forest because they had some problems with snakes in some other forest. Ametite was the first and only harpy actually born in the forest--others were raised by a nearby lake, the harpies' "retreat spot". Anyways, these harpies were seen as a threat to the forest's environment, fir the other creatures that lived there were small and benevolent, and not used to any predators larger and more deadly than foxes. So, people from the nearby village of Geos set out on a mission to kill all the harpies before they posed any further threats. The harpies of Mystic Star Forest tried to beat back the forces from Geos, but Geos had too strong a leader--some rabbit-man named Turue. Turue did most of the successful killing in this "harpy hunt". This hunt started about three years after Ametite was born, and in fact Ametite's father was the first one who died in it. Ametite's first reaction to this was to be overwhelmingly scared, so she fled to the lake where her mother was currently waiting. Ametite was mad at the forces from Geos, but she felt too little to do anything about it. Anyways, her mother took care of her for a few years, until Ametite was a little bit older and learned all the hunting skills that were expected of those her age. Then, her mother invited her to join her in finally facing the people of Geos. They entered the forest again--but Ametite for some reason fell behind and got lost. She tried on her own to find her mother again, and she succeeded, but in the most unfortunate way. When she found her mother, she saw Turue fighting her. It was quite a short fight--and Ametite's mother was the one whose life was taken. This drove Ametite further into the fight--she now had a vendetta against "the little bunny boy". However, she never really got to Turue directly but instead threw stones on the village, looted his house, or fed the civilians to the lions living in the nearby desert. Meanwhile, more harpies were either killed or fled back to the other forest they came from. Eventually, Ametite was the only harpy left. Luckily, the rest of the forest was beginning to return back to its peaceful state--all thanks to an elf named Nettle but referred to as the "friend of the forest". Nettle wanted to protect the forest, but she knew she was powerless against a whole army of harpies or a whole village led by a bunny man. But, when Ametite was the only harpy left, most Geos civilians had taken a break and gone back home, so only Turue was left still fighting. This little war had become a one-on-one battle. Then, one night a little girl ran off into the forest. Ametite had developed a hatred of humans since many lived in Geos, so she picked her up and tried to kill her. However, Turue stopped her by capturing her and putting her in a cage, thus saving the girl. It was Nettle that released Ametite the following morning, saying that she kind of sided with the harpies but still wished Ametite would not plot such a harsh revenge against Turue. She also told Ametite of a certain throne she could possibly inherit one day, and that some group called the Black Falcons were fighting for that throne but also needed new members--quite badly. Ametite knew there was no fun in taking care of just one person, so she agreed to join the Black Falcons--besides, Nettle continued the fight against Turue long enough for Ametite to leave the forest. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I didn't want to make the bio much longer than that...
2. "Go Shinai!" Ari finally commanded. "About time..." Hiro muttered. "Use Plasmaspiral!" The Misdreavus did as Ari told: she sent a spiraling swirl of ectoplasmic energy right at Shocker. Since Shocker was already distracted by Cinder's Rollout attack, the Plasmaspiral was a direct hit. "Shocker!" Sparkle shouted. "Grrr... use Fire Lick against that Misdreavus!" "Cinder, block it by continuing Rollout!" The Cyndaquil rolled back towards Shocker, stopping the Pokemon mid-attack. Cinder only hit Shocker's feet, but the attack was still pretty effective. Shocker landed, panting quite a bit but still barely in the battle. "Raksha, now's your chance!" Riku commanded. "Shadow Beam that Misdreavus!" "Don't you think I would have anticipated that?" Ari commented as Raksha prepared its attack. "Shinai, use...???" Ari was interrupted yet again, for Shinai did something rather strange... Shinai had disappeared! Apparently she had just vanished into a field of shadow... "Ari, what do you think you're doing?" Hiro nearly yelled out of frustration. "You're letting your Misdreavus escape? Grr... Knight, I guess you better get back into the... wait, Shinai?!" Suddenly, a hand appeared out of a sort of portal on the ground. A shadow swept up past it and spun around Raksha, who spun around with it and landed quite heavily on the ground. "Raksha, what in the world happened?" Riku sounded confused as he spoke. Seconds later, the shadow reappeared in front of Ari. Is that even a Pokemon now? Hiro thought. For a moment, this shadow just looked like a dark orb, but then it started to turn white, and within seconds it started to morph... Raksha fired another Shadow Beam at the orb, but as soon as that happened, the orb turned black again, and the same hand appeared from it and absorbed the beam. Then the orb transformed to form the rest of the resulting Pokemon... "Harmonique!" squeaked the end result. "Whoa, Shinai evolved!" Ari commented. "I guess that battle with the Spoink boosted your battle experience quite a bit..." "Hold on a second," Sparkes said, glaring at Ari. "You mean Shinai was the one who stole the pearl from this Spoink? Well then, Shinai, you horrific monster, you're giving that pearl back!" At this Shinai giggled--what Sparkle said sounded more like a compliment. "Hmm," Ari suspected, "I see that you just learned Curse. Well then how about using it on that Absol?" Shinai did so with much enthusiasm. She summoned a sliver of shadow energy the formed into a black needle. After firing this at herself, she squirmed a bit at the painful impact, but then she resumed her usual sinister expression and casually conjured some sort of dark force with her finger. A black aura appeared around Raksha. "Yeah, nice going, trying to weaken the strong one," Riku mocked. "Raksha, return." But Shinai was one step ahead. Before Riku could take out Raksha's Pokeball, Shinai used Mean Look on Raksha. "Dammit," Riku muttered. By that time, Cinder felt a little bit better, having had time to rest whle watching Shinai evolve and curse Raksha. Knight sat idly by, watching the battle--a part of him was glad to have the chance to rest for a while. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ OOC: Sorry about Riku's gender mixup... Anyways, in case you're too lazy to refer back to my signup, Harmonique (Shinai) lookes like this...
3. OOC: Please, mods, don't be too harsh on people who just want a faster-moving RPG. Please, people in this RPG, make better and longer posts for the sake of this RPG. Right now I feel a bit flattered at what Ozy said, but no matter now... And by the way, I would not be too mad if this RPG ends up beng locked--and I do understand the reason why it should be. IC: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "I just finished a special assignment," Ari answered. "Yes, the Chief told me that you went off on your own," Hiro remembered. "By the way, what was your assignment?" "My dumb boss Kane sent me on a mission to steal a golden pearl from a Spoink. He always sends me on easy missions..." "Yeah," Hiro said in a slightly envious tone, "it does sound easy... Mine was much harder--in fact I haven't even finished it yet... I have to find some girl named Riku who's been stealing stuff from Snag'em. I was promised some large amount of money in return, but the assignment is so darn frustrating..." Ari could tell Hiro was frustrated from his clenched fist. "Perhaps I could help," Ari suggested. "I had an easy time finding the Spoink, so a girl can't be much harder." "If you help me and succeed, you'll take all the credit," Hiro retorted. "Not if the Chief doesn't see me," Ari continued. Her sinister tone of voice signified that she was devising some sort of brilliant plan. "Besides, I don't care too much about the money, and I have yet to claim the reward for my mission. Which reminds me... Henshu?" The Yanma flew forward, still holding the golden pearl. "Whoa, I guess that was no lie after all," Hiro commented. "I take it that's your Yanma?" "All four of these Pokemon as well belong to me." Ari indicated Shinai, Kawaine, Tsukimi, and Shokuchi. "And I see you have a Larvitar and a Cyndaquil. Oh, that Cyndaquil--it looks like it just lost a battle." "Yes, he damn well did," Hiro grumbled. "Guess who Cinder here just lost to? The girl I was supposed to look for--Riku. Her Rikariku was just too much..." "This is not your lucky day," Ari commented. "Anyways, Henshu?" "Yan." "Bring the pearl back to Kane, would you? Don't worry about the reward too much--I'll collect it later if I have to." "Yan." Henshu obeyed and darted off towards Snag'em headquarters. "So anyways, Hiro is it? Anyways, do you...?" Ari was interrupted by a peculiar noise coming from a grassy patch near the trees. There, Kawaine and Shokuchi were having a practice battle. Kawaine had just been Embered by Shokuchi and decided to give up. Ari was just about to speak congratulations to Shokuchi when the Jawpy barked and started glowing... This startled both Ari and Hiro, as well as all their Pokemon. Shokuchi then turned completely white and changed shape, until she became a bigger and leaner dog. Shokuchi had evolved into Growlithe! "Grrrowl!" Shokuchi cheered for herself, proud that she had just evolved. "Heh, I thought it looked like a baby Growlithe," Hiro mentioned. "She was a Jawpy beforehand," Ari corrected. "Jawpy isn't too well-known a Pokemon. Likewise, Kawaine here is a Puffly, and Tsukimi there is a Retron." "I never heard of any of the three," Hiro commented. Then he turned back to the tired Cinder and the slightly bored Knight. He frowned at how useless his Pokemon could be in resuming the mission, but he still had a glimmer of hope for them. But right then, what he wanted most was payback for Riku. "Anyways, as for what I was saying before Shokuchi interrupted me," Ari continued, "you never got a chance to answer my previous question. Are we together in this mission or not?"
4. I tried to use this character in another X-Men RPG, but that RPG died and I was so mad... So here we go again. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Name: Kelsey Fables (a.k.a. Silphia) Age: 20 Gender: Female Powers: Telekinesis and telepathy Appearance: Silphia is about 5 feet tall and quite thin. She has straight, shoulder-length, dark red hair and dark brown eyes. She wears a flowy, mediumsleeved lavender shirt, a long blue skirt, light purple socks, and black sandals. She also wears glasses and an aqua hat. Equipment: A mirror--though in most cases it doesn't even help. Silphia doesn't really need that much equipment. Biography: Because Kelsey's mother married someone she was not supposed to--a magician named Dan--Kelsey's great-grandmother Celia put a curse on the couple, thanks to dark powers of her very own. This curse caused Kelsey's mother to die shortly after her birth, and Dan to lose popularity and become poor. But Kelsey was also hit hard by it in a way. She kept living in and out of an orphanage during her childhood. The only peer near where she lived had psychic powers but didn't want to be her friend. However, this got Kelsey interested in psychic powers ever since. One day, Kelsey came across a meteorite. A few days later, Celia--who was the leader of a sort of evil mutant organization--found Kelsey and attempted to attack her. However, a mysterious power within the meteorite drove the gang away. But the strange thing was that Kelsey felt a sort of mental connection to the meteorite when it used that power, almost as if she had it too... Anyways, the meteorite turned out to be an egg--it hatched into a creature that looked like a pink blob wearing a helmet. This creature had the ability to use telekinesis and create electrical shock waves with its antennae. Kelsey named it Alphos and decided to take care of it. By that time she was 13 and decided to travel around on her own with Alphos. As time went by, Alphos matured--he looked a little more humanlike but still had characteristics of a martian. By then he could also fly. But also, Kelsey began to develop a sort of telepathic bond with Alphos--the two could communicate to each other using telepathy. Indeed, Alphos did have some strange powers that enforced that connection, and even the start of Kelsey's own telepathic abilities. But at that time, Kelsey could only use that power for communication. Anyways, as more time went by, Alphos had fully grown and one day flew off the planet, apparently returning to his home planet. Kelsey was disappointed at this--Alphos had been her best friend. What was more, their telepathic link was also lost. Soon after that incident, Kelsey was again attacked by Celia and the gang--this time Kelsey had no Alphos to protect her. Without anything to fight back with, Kelsey was helpless. A couple of the organization members used their own shadow powers to try and steal Kelsey's soul. They almost succeeded, but all they ended up doing was transporting her soul to the body of another creature--a fairy. This fairy also had psychic powers, and it took Kelsey a while to realize this. In fact, the first time she used telekinesis and a more advanced version of telepathy (new abilities that the fairy had) was when a bug catcher mistook her for a butterfly and caught her in a net, but after much struggling her telekinetic powers proved to be there and activated, setting her free. But since she was a new being, she changed her name to Silphia. A few weeks later, Silphia found Celia herself and demanded a fight. Now that she had powers of her own she wasn't as helpless as before, even though she was then only six inches tall. It was a long battle, but Silphia's determination and mental strength combined helped her win. She had broken free (well, almost) of the curse, and she returned to her original human form after the fight was won. And because the new powers she had while she was a fairy sunk in over time, they didn't disappear even after she turned back into a human--they were a kind of keepsake, like a memory of that bizzare time in another form. Unfortunately, Silphia didn't get to celebrate her victory for very long. Not too long after the big battle, Celia died of old age, but not really tragically--she and Silphia wished the best for each other. Shortly after that, Silphia found herself called to another world, one where help was needed... So the status in this RPG starts. Other: One can say Silphia is mentally strong but physically weak. On top of her psychic powers, Silphia is also very smart, and her reflexes are pretty quick as well. She also has an excellent memory, but she's not sure whether that's good or bad...
5. Wow, I would love to join! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Name: Maridra Age: 42 Sex: Female Alliance: Light? Hometown: None really (somewhere at the very edge of Light Land so close to the Shadow Land that it receives little light) Weapons: Maridra isn't really a weapon person, but she does have some experience with and interest in magical weapons. She has three of her own: -First is a sort of staff that is about a yard long and is used for enchantment, or "effect spells". -Second is a short sword with a crystal blue blade. The blade isn't very sharp, but its tip can fire a thien, laserlike beam of any element. The handle also contains an orb with a similar function to a crystal ball. -Third is a mirror no bigger than her palm. It can be used to deflect spells (not guns or other physical offenses), and it can be used as a form of mind control (though it requires that one gazes into the mirror) as well. Gift: Maridra is an animagus, meaning she can transform into an animal. Actually, she can transform into two different animals: a raven and an ice dragon. She can't use weapons that well in her animal forms (especially in raven form), but as a raven her psychic senses are heightened, and as a dragon she gains the ability to remove heat from her surroundings and create small snowstorms. But it's more difficult to become a dragon--she almost has to be at full health to do so. Bio: Maridra never figured out whether the man who raised her was her father or not. But what she did know was that the man was an alchemist named Parth, and that he was generally benevolent towards her--the two would very rarely argue. And plus, Parth was touched by Maridra's interest in his magical workings and studies. In fact, one day Maridra asked Parth to turn her into an animal. Parth said the idea was foolish, so Maridra had to try it herself. She almost succeeded, but fate led her to keep human qualities nevertheless. Still, from this came her ability to morph into two different animals. When Maridra was a bit older, she got the desire to follow in Parth's footsteps, but without Parth's guidance. She wanted to go away to a place where she could stay undisturbed and at ease. Parth, however, was uneasy about this--he had always loved taking care of Maridra because before her, he was suffering from miserable loneliness. He also feared that if Maridra left, she would experience that same feeling that he once did. Maridra didn't want to leave him in misery, so before leaving she prayed for his well-being, acknowledging that they could still remain together in spirit, and reassuring him that she would never meet a lonely fate. Still, she had to sneak out at night to leave his company. Maridra sealed her own fate. Years after she became content with her new life, with her own magical studies and her opportunities for peace, she too began to suffer from loneliness. She had grown up to be more like Parth than she thought, for Parth had started feeling lonely the exact same way. Plus, she got tired of all things being the same--the same dwelling, the same surroundings of mountain and forest day after day, and no one to share it with... Yet she did have a method of curing this misery that Parth could never take on easily: travel. It just so happened that the two animals she could morph into could fly, so fly she did to more civilized areas. Soon after entering the civilized world, Maridra was flung into action and surprise, for she heard news of a woman who was burned as a witch long ago, thus sparking conflicts among the sides of Light and Shadow. The woman had apparently been immortal, and she was a wonderful healer. Even thousands of years later (in the present), there was unrest everywhere. All of a sudden the peace she had been living with was disrupted, but at least it cured her problem of boredom. She kept wishing she could somehow help stop the war, and she once even got a vision of somehow being able to determine the fate of Caldroth--to save or to destroy the world. She kept wondering which one of the two she would do--simply saving the world sounded too idealistic. Personality: Maridra lives in a place on the border of the Shadow and Light lands--and here rests her personality as well. You can say she has a dark side and a light side, but you can't really call them definite as they blend together harmoniously rather than conflict. Maridra strongly believes in the power of compromise and the beauty of peace--if two different options or paths are presented to her, she'll usually form some new path that staggers somewhere in the middle. Anyways, aside from that, two of her characteristics are nearly opposite but again never conflict: she would gladly risk her own safety for the sake of a friend, but most of the time she tends to be rather selfish and provincial, and she's pretty adamant about doing things her way. And going back to the loneliness, Maridra often finds herself doing things that separate her from the crowd. She's also very independent and hardly ever demands much from other people. Appearance: See attachment for human form Raven form (top-right; dark purple in colour with green-tipped wings) Dragon form Char Snippet: It was a lonesome dusk, another one, as countless others had been before for what seemed like eternity. Anyone sitting outside in the dim yet still dazzling sunlight would feel alive and at ease, but such was far from the case with Maridra. There were thousands of days during which she saw this same sight, and she hardly ever saw anything else. It was boring, repetitive, and simply monotonous. Yet luckily, there was that one sole thing that prevented these qualities from taking her life altogether: her workings and studies of magic. This seemed to be the only thing that would please her, and on this particular afternoon, it was no different. In a circular room Maridra called her "divination room", a crystal ball in the center gathered the sun's rays in the same beautiful way. These sunrays only helped the crystal's properties, as Maridra witnessed while she sat by it, gazing dazedly into its mysterious and supernatural depths. This was usually her favourite pastime, for she occasionally got to see what was happening in the rest of the world. On this particular occasion, Maridra saw the outline of a woman dancing. A hazy white shape, drifting about like a ghost. Maridra sat by idly, casually thinking about what this figure might mean. Moments later, darkness fell over the forest, darkness that was more pronounced than it was during the typical day. This startled Maridra, who immediately looked up and out the window. At first she thought a storm was coming, but a look at the trees showed that there was no wind. All there was was a bit of darkness--peculiar, yet still there. Anyways, Maridra then checked the other surroundings. No rain was falling. No animals hurried frantically towards their homes. In fact, there were a group of squirrels and rabbits that stared up at a spot in the sky. Maridra followed the animals' gaze and found, to her astonishment, that the sky was nearly black. No trace of sunset was there at all. Maridra followed the sky down to the horizon line, towards where the sun would usually be. But the sun looked completely different. Instead of being the usual orange, it was pitch-black, with an orangey glow outside of it. Maridra's heart seemed to stop. She stood up, realizing what this meant. A solar eclipse! To Maridra's knowledge, a solar eclipse was a dramatic, magical moment. Many mysterious and miraculous things happened during these moments. In some cases, even, one would lead into an apocalypse of sorts--a moment that can change something completely. With that, Maridra quickly averted her attention back to the crystal ball. In it, she saw the eclipsed sun, but the scene below it was truly apocalyptic. People were talking, debating more likely... talking about a significant witch that died long ago, and an argument among the sides of Light and Shadow... They obviously were wishing for peace between the two sides, but they felt too powerless to help this worldwide conflict. Maridra felt it--it was a cry for help. Mixed feelings came with this vision--suddenly Maridra felt needed, cared about... and for once, with a sense of purpose in life. But not much longer after those feelings came, they altogether vanished, for a burst of sunlight shot out from behind the moon. But as Maridra's normal world started to come into view again, her mind remained in that moment of the eclipse. In about the same time during which the eclipse occurred, Maridra sat motionless and in silence, gazing back over the horizon where the sun was once eclipsed. And when this time was up, Maridra left the room, left the house, and transformed into her dragon form. Even then she did not hesitate--she flew up, quite hastily, and headed right for the place she saw in the crystal during the eclipse. Soon it would all come into knowing. What a time of change this most definitely was! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "The snippet must be at least 2-3 paragraphs long"? Well, I guess I got carried away. Speaking of which, I edited the changes you suggested, Pumpkin.
6. "Puffwi puffwi!" Kawaine was already getting excited at the new Snag'em assignment. "Puffwi??" Kawaine suddenly turned around, looking concerned and gazing up at Ari. "No," Ari said without so much as a giggle, "I don't have any cake. But perhaps I'll get you some if you can get your hands on that golden pearl." "Ffwi!!" Kawaine's eyes got wider, and she eagerly dashed off to find the Spoink in the assignment. Ari laughed to herself at this. She doesn't even know which direction to go. "To locate a psychic-type Pokemon such as Spoink," Ari lectured to the remaining Pokemon, "it is possible to tune in to the ever special mindwaves that signify their powers. I also know that gold is a very submissive metal, so that pearl would be able to amplify a Spoink's powers to an exhilirating extent. If we listen closely, we'll find something much like a radio signal. Tsukimi?" The Retron stood attentive and nodded. "That's your cue," Ari whispered to Tsukimi. "Try a Psych Up." Retron is a psychic-type Pokemon, plus its antennae are perfect for tuning in to any type of electric signal, no matter what the source. That's two things that favor Tsukimi's success here. "Now we all need to clear our minds as best as possible--we don't want any interference..." Ari quickly muttered, soon after everyone (including Ari herself) followed this command. Tsukimi, meanwhile, Psyched Up, all for the hopes of locking onto the Spoink's whereabouts (and perhaps its thoughts for an extra bonus). At the same time, Ari and Tsukimi pointed to a spot to the southwest. This direction led to an area thickened with trees and bushes. I guess if I was a Pokemon, Ari thought as she and her Pokemon walked in the intuited direction, I would definitely be a Psychic-type. I've never quite figured out why I could do that as well... Far ahead, a rustling was heard. There were voices, but from their distance hardy anyone could identify them... "Shinai..." Ari said involuntarily, after which she ran towards the scene ahead, trying to keep as quiet as possible. Her Pokemon followed quite easily on speedy feet or wings, except for Tsukimi, who hobbled along like a metallic turtle. Soon enough, the scene could be seen. A Misdreavus was staring at the Spoink with the golden pearl--apparently it had just used Mean Look to prevent it from escaping. Ari immediately recognized the Misdreavus' blood-red neck orbs. "Shinai," Ari said quietly--this time more sure of herself. "Mis," Shinai quickly greeted the new arrivals with a sideways glance, then focused her attention back on the Spoink. "Spoink." The Spoink then launched its Confusion attack, hoping to "scramble up" its foe. Shinai tumbled backwards in the air a couple of times from the attack, but then she held on--it looked as if she was using her own psychic attack. "Psywave," Ari whispered from behind a bush. Shinai then launched her own psychic attack. Wave after wave, the Spoink wavered with each hit and finally tumbled back almost like Shinai did moments before. Then it bounced gracefully off its spring tail, its pearl taking on a misty glow. This was obviously a powerful Spoink, but this didn't bother Shinai. "Misss." Shinai took on a glow of her own, which soon turned into a sort of dark sunray which shone upon her. Then this ray traveled along the ground--right at Spoink. When Spoink was hit, its eyes shone red for a moment, then it appeared to feel dizzy. "Spoooooiiiinnnkkk..." Spoink even sounded dizzy. It looked like it was preparing another Confusion attack, but it seemed unable to muster the necessary concentration to do so. Instead, it lost its focus completely and ended up attacking itself. It threw itself into the air, spun around a few times, then landed clumsily on the ground, rocking from side to side on its belly. Its pearl also rolled off its head. "Very nice Confuse Ray," Ari commented, yet still keeping the sinister tone her voice always had when she found herself in a battle. "Yan?" Henshu darted out from behind a tree, inquiring Shinai. "Mis mis," Shinai answered with a nod. "Yan." Henshu then flew over to the pearl and picked it up. She didn't want to be rude to Shinai by stealing the pearl she fought so hard for. How very polite of you, Henshu, Ari thought. I believe I mentioned that in that post I wrote about you. "And once again we have succeeded without the slightest bit of trouble," Ari declared to her Pokemon. "I am sorry that Kawaine and Shokuchi did not get to participate... but don't worry, you two--our work is so easy that we frequentlydon't need everyone. Perhaps you two will have a go next time, provided you don't goof off too much." Shokuchi gave a little bark of disapproval, then continued her game of tag with Kawaine. "I suppose," Ari said as Henshu flew past her, "that we should head back to collect the reward." "Puff!" "Arf! Arf!" "Yanya!" "Missdra." "Retron." And so they all headed back. Why are Kane's assignments so easy? Ari wondered on the way back. This is a true insult to my intelligence. I wonder if I should be the one ordering Kane around. I don't know why I always make him seem like a pushover...
7. "Yan." Henshu had just arrived carrying a small sack of mail. "Mail delivery," Ari said casually, not bothering to turn away from the computer she sat at. Any Pokemon would have thought this reaction rude, but Henshu was used to this and just flew away without comment. Ari was on a Pokemon forum site especially for trainers. She was typing up a post about her Pokemon team, and she had just begun to write about Henshu. Appropriate. Ari thought. If only Henshu saw what I wrote about her... then again... can Pokemon even read? Ari contemplated this as she continued typing. "She's a little more loyal than I want her to be, but if that's her nature I won't go against it," Ari typed. "She seems modest and dedicated to her duties, but I think she has a hidden desire to compete, like in the Pokemon League or Grand Festival. Perhaps I should let her battle occasionally... if my other three battlers get out of the way." Ari then thought she could hear voices on the floor below. This meant service time for Snag'em. Luckily Henshu's my last Pokemon explanation... Ari concluded her typing with a little afterthought: "Oh, and by the way, in case you were wondering, her name comes from the Japanese word henshi, meaning service. Appropriate huh?" And with that she quickly submitted her post, turned off her computer and walked towards the door which stood ajar because of Henshu's departure. Ari's Jawpy was waiting for her at the top of the stairs, barking at her arrival. Seconds later, Henshu came darting up towars Ari, telling her about something going on downstairs. "I am aware of that," Ari replied, heading down the stairs. "Don't you think I'm growing a bit clairvoyant?" This was obviously a rhetorical question. After a pause, Shokuchi (the Jawpy) and Henshu followed. There was a large crowd of Snag'em members in the lobby at the bottom of the stairs. Ari and her Pokemon weaved through the crowd, wondering what the buzz was. But soon enough, that query was answered... "Ari!" someone called. Turning her head so she could see, Ari saw the department administrator Kane waving at her. He was easy to distinguish from the rest of the crowd--he was noticeably tall and bulky. "I have an assignment for you, Ari," Kane said to the new arrival. "I think you would be able to handle it best, given the very fortunate experiences you had with psychic-type Pokemon lately." "What, do you want me to steal a spoon from a Kadabra?" Ari joked. "I could if you want me to." Nobody normally dared joke around with Kane's orders, but there was some unknown force that prevented Kane from punching her into a wall. "No, but you are close," Kane commented in a gruff voice. "What I want you to do is find me a Spoink that has a special golden pearl. There have been rumors not only about the pearl, but about the Spoink itself. Now you shouldn't underestimate it, as it is stronger than the normal Spoink, but nevertheless it's sort of like 'stealing a spoon from a Kadabra'. And I guess I shouldn't ask if you think you can do it, because I have to admit you always you knew you could and you did... just some clever aspects you have there..." Ari felt flattered. "If my brains were muscles I bet I'd look just like you," Ari muttered as she walked off towards the outside world. "Nice one," Kane called after her. Also, Kawaine dashed out between Kane's legs to meet Ari, and Tsukimi was waiting outside, having enjoyed a nice little bask in the sun. Kawaine had always loved jumping on top of Tsukimi's head, so she did so again, but she leapt off instantly--Tsukimi's helmet was very hot. "Silly kitty," Ari commented, "metal conducts heat." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ OOC: I don't know why I made up a Snag'em administrator, but... Oh by the way, I named him after a wrestler, which I always thought appropriate.
8. As the group headed north, Zuri noticed the surroundings becoming steadily lighter. This could only mean one thing... So therefore, Zuri floated up, far above the group and all the scenery. Far in the east, a glow lit up the horizon. Dawn was approaching--but Zuri was far from cheerful about it. Such light the dawn brings, Zuri thought, such a sinister and suspenseful light... It brings with it a frightful premonition, a harsh truth and a difficult challenge among us. I feel, perhaps, that some stronger chaos waits for us in the northern sector. So though the sun is bright, the day is dramatic and chaotic. A perfect proof that darkness and evil are not the same--how I would wish for the tranquility of night... To ease the rising tension, Zuri began to sing--it was like an instinct. When she sang, she sounded surprisingly similar to Livremon--it was very much like the two had fused together. Zuri no longer worried that the Digimon was gone, for she knew she wasn't. The song brought about a different aura than it usually did. The main focus was on worry and even fear--a grave sense of foreboding. A great evil was approaching as quickly as the sun, and nobody short of the divine could stop its process. Yet, soon the "song" (which could be heard by all the Digidestined below) grew calmer. Zuri hoped for less panic and more focus among the group. Let the beauty of the sunset soothe their souls--keep the peace of darkness within... So it went. Feeling more at ease than before, Zuri focused her attention back on the book which she never got to open. Last time, she had been distracted by Mira's speech and the appearance of Valkyrimon. At that moment, the sun finally appeared above the horizon, illuminating the surrounding lands greatly. Just as this happened, Zuri began to lift the book cover... The book had no obvious title--it got right to the content. As Zuri flipped through the pages, she began to recognize the book... This looks an awful lot like that spellbook I found in my parents' house--the one my grandmother burned before I could get a very good look at it... Zuri began to smile as she flipped by more pages that sounded deeply interesting. She had a strong desire to start reading right away. But she knew she couldn't--there was no time. Zuri had to focus on the North Sector. With a mournful sigh, she continued scanning through the book. Then she stopped--she had come to a page in the exact middle of the book that looked even more familiar than the rest. There was a picture of a feather on the left, some text, and a notable large title on the top: "Tome of Quills" Livremon's attack. The next half of the book contained Digimon information--mostly about Digimon attacks. Zuri quickly flipped through. "Spirit Needle, Fist of the Beast King, Dark Obliteration (I know that one, that's Velgmon's attack), Dragon Wheel, ... ... ..." Finally she came to the end of the book. She was just about to close it when she noticed that the last page was twice as thick as normal... No... this is two pages stuck together! Zuri tried to separate the last two pages, but the pages refused to part. Any more force would tear the pages, if they could be torn. Perhaps the book was coated with such a magic that prevented its destruction. This probably means that I'm not supposed to see this page... it seems far from a coincidence. Yet, a small thought inside of Zuri told her that sometime soon the contents of that mysterious page would be revealed...
9. I know of one character I've wanted to use in this type of RPG for a long time, but if I use her, her sister will have to tag along... Can I play two characters to save myself from having to separate them...? If not, I'll probably choose only Celestia... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Name: Celestia Arandon Age: 16 Gender: Female Race: Mizukai? (See my questions at the bottom.) Alliance: Rebellion, but she's very neutral in that position Powers: Celestia has three notable psychic abilities: telekinesis, telepathy, and something called "deep vision". Telekinesis is easiest for her to use, and she often uses it to fly and such as well. She can use telepathy to "read" minds and send thoughts, but more often that power activates by itself in the form of a sort of premonition--otherwise known as ESP. And deep vision is like a super sight but more powerful than X-ray vision. For example, she can see even through lead, and no distance is a hinderance to that sight. However, the longer the distance, the harder to use, and Celestia is not a master of this ability... Weapons: None **History and appearance are at the bottom under Mereduin's signup Name: Mereduin Arandon Age: 11 Gender: Female Race: Mizukai? (See my questions at the bottom.) Alliance: Rebellion, moreso than Celestia Powers: Mereduin basically has the power to summon fire. In fact, she often calls her hands "magic lighters" because of that. But most of the flames produced are quite small, and they often require a flammable medium in order to become more powerful. As a side effect of this ability, Mereduin can also touch hot objects (with her hands at least) without getting burned... Weapons: Again, none For both Celestia and Mereduin: History: Celestia and Mereduin never knew their fathers--apparently they just ran away right before they were born. Because of that, their mother spent Celestia's early years in frustration from her husband's absence. For Mom, this type of absence happened three times--once before Celestia (with no baby), once with Celestia, and once with Mereduin. Mom supposed it was a karmatic curse for joining the government in the opposition to the Mizukai, for such was the race of all three of her husbands, and consequently her daughters. Mereduin was born five years after Celestia was, yet she discovered her powers before Celestia did. As a baby, she had a very curious nature (which remained all throughout her life), and she often amused herself by juggling flames, which she already knew how to do--just like a spider already knows how to spin a web even at birth. Anyways, Mereduin saw this as completely normal, but her mother found it rather shocking. After all, she once thought, what if Mereduin burned something? She did. It was an accident indeed, but still it happened. One day in the kitchen, Mereduin was playing around with a flame, throwing it up into the air for amusement. But once, she threw the flame a little too high--it touched the ceiling of the house, which caught on fire. This fire eventually led the house to be burned down, so her mom had to have another house built... Plus, ever since then, she was very angry at Mereduin--now she knew how dangerous her powers combined with her playful and adventurous nature could be. Mereduin was therefore banned from using her powers inside or near the house, which she thought rather unfair. She was jealous of Celestia, who was allowed. Mom said Celestia's powers were much more useful, and Celestia seemed to have more control over them. Also with that, Celestia fell quiet, for deep down inside she felt sorry for Mereduin. For in the fire incident, Mereduin was not very guilty at all. If it weren't for Celestia, the fire would have spread much more slowly and would have been very easy to put out. Celestia, after panicking from the small flame on the ceiling, reached for a jug of what she thought was water and threw it on the fire. This, however, caused the flame to spread more rapidly and become pretty much unstoppable--what Celestia threw on the fire was oil, not water. Anyways, it hasn't been explaiined yet how Celestia discovered her powers--the method was completely different from Mereduin's. After Celestia passed the complete innocence of infanthood, she began to speculate that something was just not right about her, but as she was still young she couldn't quite figure out what it was. She kept hearing voices in her head that were clearly not her conscience, and this caused her much stress. After Mereduin was born, she wondered why she had a little sister that could summon fire. Her mother briefly explained that Mereduin was of the Mizukai race, as were all three of her husbands, and that Mizukai had supernatural powers. Mom was unsure whether Celestia was a Mizukai or just an ordinary human, and if she was a Mizukai she did not know the identity of her powers. So then, though she was not at all comfortable with it, Mom took Celestia to a special psychiatrist that bore the alias "the modern witch doctor". This man had researched supernatural forces and began to specialize in Mizukai powers. With him, Celestia underwent a series of tests to detect anything abnormal about her. Physically she was proven normal, but then the doctor grew suspicious when he detected rather odd brainwaves... This seemed to point to some sort of psychic power. At the time, Celestia was very nervous about what the doctor's speculation, even a bit horrified. But luckily, as Celestia and Mereduin grew up, Mom had changed her mind a bit about the Mizukai, and she said that all would be fine even if Celestia did claim to have the powers. After a while, Celestia calmed down a bit, and after the tests that followed Celestia finally discovered her powers. And over time, she became more comfortable with them, but she never wanted to show them off or anything (which, Mom said, was good). Later on, Mereduin was so frustrated that she ran away. Celestia snuck out as well to find her, but she was captured by the government. The quest was long, but in short, Mereduin eventually found where Celestia was held captive (Celestia's powers were somehow blocked). Yet soon enough, government agents found out, and they tried to lock Mereduin up as well. However, Mom stepped in, distracting the agents by explaining that Celestia and Mereduin were her daughters. Mereduin used this opportunity to free Celestia. The two sisters and their mom then escaped. Besides, by then Mom had thought about quitting her job, and this was a good reason to get fired. Anyways, after the escape, Mom was wondering whether to punish Mereduin for running away or not. But then Celestia finally worked up the courage to tell them that she was guilty of burning down the house, not Mereduin. Mom was shocked, but after that Mereduin was free from punishment (and offered many apologies for the misunderstanding), and Celestia was congratulated warmly for telling the truth. And on top of that, Mom was glad to have left the governemt's side--now she wanted to turn it around, to support the Mizukai race in their rebellion. However, she didn't want to face the government after escaping from it, and she felt kind of terrible and hopeless after the whole thing. Plus, she was far from brave. But fortunately, Celestia and Mereduin joined the rebellion out of sympathy for her, as well as an opportunity for adventure and excitement. Appearance: Click here. Mereduin is on the left, Celestia is in the middle, and... Ignore the woman on the right--she has nothing to do with the Arandons and will not appear in the RPG. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ OK, that concludes my signup, but I still have a question... As I see it, the regular humans don't have any powers. The Mizukai are human as well, but they're the ones with the powers. Am I right in this? If not, please correct me... **Also, I'll tell you this far in advance: Celestia and Mereduin will be main characters (well, Mereduin will be more main than Celestia) in a book I'm planning to write. (The plot has nothing to do with this RPG, though--it existed before this RPG was born.) If in a few years down the line you read a book entitled "Seven Faces of Hell" and see the Arandon family, that's no coincidence--they're the same there as they are here. Just forewarning you...
10. Zuri still looked the same, with the exception of the cape, but she felt rather different. She felt like her heart had been dipped in a pool of holy water, a fluid which seeped into her blood and flowed throughout her body and soul. In a way she felt blessed. Perhaps Livremon's disappearance had been a sacrifice, and her spirit now lived inside Zuri... or at least that's what it felt like to her. She felt very light, as if she was on the moon. She felt ghostly, even, as if she was more a part of the spiritual realm than the physical. She felt unnaturally clear-headed and mentally alert, as if her brain had doubled in size. She felt that nothing could agitate her, and that any answer she seeked lay right past her fingertips. Speaking of "right past her fingertips", Zuri noticed the book she was holding. It had an aura of wisdom about it, and it seemed like it could indeed contain the deepest of answers she sought out. She wanted to open it... It's too risky, Zuri thought. I'm too within Beelzemon's range. But maybe... Zuri then walked over to the lamppost she had sat on before. As if by instinct, she gently touched her hand to the post, then knelt down and touched the ground. As she did so, she felt a vibrating heat in her ears, vibrations which seemed to contain a new, supernatural force. She stood up, but soon after getting to her feet she glided up smoothly into the air and landed on the lamppost, with a grace reminiscent of Livremon. It was then that she sat down on the post and looked back at the book. Again she wanted to open the book, but first... Let this space be free from those of toil, sending away forces of all negativity... Although it could not be physically seen, a rose hovered in the air right in front of Zuri, glowing with gentle passion. Again, Zuri felt the vibrating heat in her ears, and that in addition to the aura emanating from the rose sparked a tranquil peace inside Zuri that seemed warmer than love itself. And, though it was very faint, Zuri thought she could hear Livremon's song in the ambience. Outside, shouts of "Incoming!" and "Zuri!" were heard. A stray Corona Blaster headed right for Zuri. But, the purifying events worked their magic just in time. Before hitting Zuri, the blast halted in mid-air, then bounced back and dissipated into a dim firework. Finally at peace, Zuri faced the moment. Now, she focused on the book in her lap. As she moved her hand over the book, she paused--again she felt that aura of deep wisdom found in the book's depths... She felt something powerful had to be in there, whatever it was. So then, slowly and carefully, she lifted the cover and began to examine the contents of the book...
11. If those quills can't hurt Beelzemon, Zuri thought, then Livremon really can't do much on the offensive side... But, luckily, there are other ways to win a battle--this one just so happens to require teamwork. Though her legs still hurt from before, Zuri ran as best she could towards the edge of town, where Livremon was still floating around in a luminescent ring. Meanwhile, in the scene of the action, MetalGreymon devolved back to Greymon from Beelzemon's attack. Masaru was amazed that he didn't turn back into Agumon instead. "The forces around us are strong," Zephyrmon mentioned as she passed by. "This could be our chance." Hopefully that means Greymon can Digivolve again soon... Masaru wondered. "Heh, now that's two of us stuck with Champions," Azari commented. "Unless..." His voice trailed off. For not too far away from him, an urge to fight took over among the fellow Digimon... "Rylonamon Digivolve to..." "Rampantmon!" Now that Beelzemon no longer had wings, Rampantmon could damage him more easily. And plus, Beelzemon was distracted... "Desolation Claw!" Cyberdramon was engaged in a head-on fight against Beelzemon, and, surprisingly, wasn't doing too badly. For one thing, he had Lillymon, Silphymon, and WereGarurumon at his side--those three occasionally attacked Beelzemon when his back was turned to them. The above fight continued on for a few more minutes without either side seeming to win. However, there was one sudden interruption that shot into everyone's awareness, not just Beelzemon's. "That... song... again..." Beelzemon grumbled, but again no sound came out. Sure enough, it was that same melodious aura that emanated from the halo that surrounded the town. She's singing now? Zuri wondered. But that distracted everybody... Nope, not everybody. "Flower Cannon!" shouted Lillymon, again without sound. The flower hit Beelzemon in the face as if it were a pie. Beelzemon clambered backwards into a puddle of mud. This stinks... Beelzemon thought as he started to get back up. And the flower stinks even more! He wrenched the flower of his face, then sneezed. Stupid pollen! "Static Force!" Silphymon launched his attack, but unfortunately it hit Beelzemon's back, which was still covered in mud. No effect. I thought it would work now that Beelzemon is wet... Silphymon thought. "Garuru Kick!" "Double Impact!" The bullet hit Were Garurumon's foot mid-kick, but it did not hurt him--it was virtually useless against an Ultimate-level Digimon thanks to that song. "I'm gonna get her..." Beelzemon grumbled under his breath. With that, he ran off towards the edge of the ring. The same confidence that welled up inside of him after he first heard the song was there again. Soon enough he was standing within arm's reach of the ring. After he skidded to a stop, Beelzemon reached into the ring and clasped his hand around Livremon's neck. Immediately the "song" stopped, and the ring vanished. "Double Impact!" After this, Beelzemon shot his gun at Livremon. The bullet cut right through her, but after the attack Livremon felt quite weakened. "I am a creature of darkness!" Beelzemon declared. "No ghostly tricks of yours will work against me, light-lover!" Livremon seemed offended by this statement, but she did not let her temper flare. Then she saw Zuri standing there, not too far away. She called to her, in a voice that sounded unnatural to her--an unpleasant, squeaky voice: "Zuri... catch!" She threw the book at her--literally. A thick, brilliant green book flew through the air, and Zuri ran around, trying to catch it. "Oh no you don't!" Beelzemon shouted. Still in a position to strangle Livremon, he darted towards the airborne book, then jumped upward at it and reached out to catch it. He would have caught it had Livremon not reacted... "Plasma Vines!" she cried in that same squeaky voice. But the attack still worked. However, it was but one vine that went for Beelzemon--it smacked him in the face and caused him to fall backward. (However, Livremon was the cushion for his fall.) The other two vines grabbed the book as if they were hands, then threw it back towards Zuri, who caught it without a problem. Zuri stood by and watched the rest, and the other tamers and Digimon were starting to approach as well. However, even the other tamers couldn't stop what happened next. Beelzemon sprung to his feet and gazed down at Livremon, who was lying on the ground and appeared to be in a lot of pain. Also, her cape was missing, and the lower part of her body that looked like Zuri's earring was gone too. She looked like a hopeless ragdoll. "Time's up, my angel," Beelzemon declared. "Death Slinger!" After the attack collided with Livremon, it flared up and vanished. Though no data nor Oramon nor Digi Egg was visible in its place, neither was Livremon. But as Zuri stared in both astonishment and grief, she felt something drape over her--something that both comforted her and haunted her. She also noticed that her ears felt very warm. Livremon? As the other tamers approached, they almost mistook Zuri for Livremon--she was wearing her cape, holding her book... plus, though Zuri didn't know it, her earrings were glowing.
12. Zuri had watched the whole battle from the lamppost and was left concerned when Beelzemon appeared. So the fire is extinguished, but not with the peaceful water that can save this world but rather snuffed out by the evil which dares to consume us all... I have yet to think which is worse. Meanwhile, in the battle, Silphymon fell. Two tamers were stuck in dilemma near the scene... I wish Monodramon would digivolve already... Haru thought. We've had squat chance to save any of us from evil. At least get to Champion... In front of him, Monodramon watched the scene with focus and anticipation. Rylonamon would become stronger if she Digivolved, Azari wondered, but then she'd just become Rampantmon again... Hey, I'e never seen her in Mega form... maybe then she wouldn't be as wild. But how...? In front of him, Rylonamon stood there just like Monodramon. Back at the lamppost, Zuri stood up at last, wavering a bit on the small lamp. It was a pretty tall lamppost--at least ten metres tall--but this didn't matter. As if the devil made her do it, Zuri jumped off the lamppost, landing hard on the dirt floor. When she tried to get up her legs trembled with pain, but still she managed and thus ran as fast as she could towards the scene of the battle. She skidded to a stop beside Cometramon. "You could have called me," Cometramon offered. "Hinderance of mundane matters is a death wish for the malevolent." "Your manner of speaking inspires me," Cometramon commented with a smile of confidence as she began to fly up towards Beelzemon. "Actually," Zuri stopped her, "first, you can't fight a Mega as a Champion, and second, you didn't get what I meant. Isn't it time for you to Digivolve...?" Zuri winced through these last words and had to sit down on a nearby stump. "Yes, the book calls to me," Cometramon sighed. "Cometramon Digivolve to..." "...Livremon." Livremon flew up gracefully, acting as if this battle was a sort of dance. Bearing right, she took off in a circle around the town. Soon her voice seemed to echo from various places in that circle... "Tome of Quills..." The circle took on the appearance of a ring, glittering with an occasional quill that danced forward to meet Beelzemon. These quills, though, bounced right off him and wither fell to the ground or formed a new ring around the perimeter of the battlefield. Soon after, Livremon's voice came again, emanating from the ring... "Let these writings be my eyes. Writings of songs of the Silent." The second sentence was heard only by the tamers, for some odd reason. But after that, a new aura rang through the area. It seemed like a song, but it was more like an aura of music--literally a song of the silent. Beelzemon grew agitatied and tried to shoot Livremon, but no sound issued from the gun, and Beelzemon was confused as to whether he actually fired a shot or not. Then Beelzemon meant to shout, "I have no patience for entertainment!" but nothing was heard from him. Angry, he hopped onto a nearby motorcycle and tried to start it up, but no go. He punched the ground a few times out of fury, upon which he sprouted wings--he had entered Blast Mode. This was all as well--Beelzemon could now assault that annoying little siren. Though it was hard to tell where Livremon was in the ring, something inside Beelzemon seemed to know, or at least showed enough confidence to promise success. Whatever it was, Beelzemon flew towards the outside of the ring, shooing away quills which occasionally bit at him.
13. OOC: Awww, Stark, your post was cute... I've never had someone introduce my character, but you did a good job of it anyway. The corridor seemed endless, and no attention was paid to the occasional doors dotting the sides. Teryk kept running, never losing speed in case the techs caught up, not hindered too much by carrying Chibu. Chibu, meanwhile, kept looking over Teryk's shoulder and also up ahead. But when Teryk turned a corner, Chibu tapped him on the cheek and pointed to a door to the left. "Hey, why are we stopping?" Teryk questioned. "I thought we..." His voice trailed off as he spotted a sort of glow coming from a space below the door. Yes, this is the way. After stopping, Teryk released Chibu, who opened the door and went in. Teryk followed and shut the door behind him. I just hope those tech guys don't have ESP. The corridor lead to a stairway which seemed to lead to a place of greater illumination. Perhaps they were headed to the space station. "Naita yai..." Chibu muttered when she reached the top of the stairs, not too far ahead of Teryk. "I think I know what you mean," Teryk agreed as he looked around. "I guess we're the first ones here--all I can see are spaceships." "In a big space I hear nothing... no soul inside..." Chibu continued with concern. "Since there's no one here yet," Teryk declared, "I would think it most logical to explore a bit, see what's in store..." Teryk then started to walk toward one of the three spaceships sitting in the vast room, casting a glance at Chibu along the way. He thought of showing her around as well, but then he observed that she was standing alert near the stairway, figuring that she could warn him of anyone else coming. Big ears are there for a reason. A few minutes would pass, in fact, before anything else went on.
14. Many tamers jumped at Gatomon's wake-up call. "Aww," Azari grumbled, "I was having a good dream and now I can't remember it..." "Why such an uproar..." Mira yawned as she rubbed the back of her head out of tiredness. "Terrier... no, Gatomon..." Zuri exclaimed as she practically jumped from under the covers to off the bed. "Sorry," she added under her breath, "there were these strange brown Terriermon in my dream, and they were chaotic. I know about psychotic bunnies but... Eh, what... attacked? By who?" Finally she inquired. "Hey look out there!" Haru pointed out. He was leaning out of the window, so everyone turned to look. To their alarm, many buildings were on fire, and Digimon were frantically running around outside, some slightly on fire, trying to find shelter. "Hey wait..." Monodramon spotted. "Isn't that Candlemon?" "If you're saying he started the fire," Rraikmon corrected, "look at the guy. He's way too small to burn down everything by himself. It has to have been a gang of Candlemon." "Well," Azari commented, "Someone has to do something--we have to put out those fires! Let's grab our Digimon and go!" "Right then," Zuri agreed. "Oh but..." she noticed. "Oramon? Where did you go? I know you like to wander out at night but..." A few moments later, everyone rushed outside to help. Along the way, Skye transformed into Kazemon. "Wind should put out fire!" Meanwhile, the Digimon were gathering their senses together, preparing for possible combat. The tamers tried to figure out why the fire started, and Gatomon led them out of the building. Zuri, though, was still searching around for Oramon--she was the last one out the door. Strange... Haru thought as he was running out the door and looking back at the building. Our place didn't catch fire... how peculiar... Yet while the inn remained intact, untouched buildings in front of the group burst into flame. Kazemon started to fly towards the nearest burning building. "Hurricane Wave!" Her attack freed the roof from the fire--it would take a few more hits to extinguish every fire in the building. "I have an idea," Mira announced. "Let's each take one building." With these short instructions, everyone except Zuri (who was still Digimonless) ran off in different directions to fight the fires. Now I have nothing to do... Zuri said to herself while walking toward the river. Come on, Oramon, where are you... If you're not here, I certainly hope you're fighting either these fires or some evil Digimon. But within a few seconds, a cry was heard from the riverbank. Instinctively, Zuri followed it, running towards its source. But as she pushed aside a row of cattails, some sort of spinning creature tackled her, knocking her backwards onto a rock. Pretty soon, three shadowed heads appeared over her own from all sides, two of which obviosly belonged to big scary Digimon. But the smaller head she recognized faintly--it was the same one she saw in her dream. A Terriermon? What looked like a Terriermon (though it could only be told from a silhouette) raised its paw, and the two bigger Digimon reached out as if to grab Zuri. But when their hands came closer, Zuri could see the reflection of a blazing white comet heading right for her. Yet she ony saw this for a split second before it struck her in the back, knocking the apparent Terriermon into the river. But Zuri didn't fall in as well--she somehow stuck to whatever hit her. It felt like she was being carried in someone's arms--someone familiar's arms... Whatever it was shot upward and looped around--Zuri caught a glimpse of boots. Then the thing released her at the top of a lamppost and stopped behind her. "Are you all right?" The voice was definitely familiar. "Cometramon?" Zuri guessed. That did explain the comet... Sure enough, Zuri turned around to see Cometramon hovering there. Her cape looked a little burnt, but other than that she gave off a strong, silvery-white glow--a good sign of alertness and confidence. "Wait here," Cometramon quickly commanded as she took off again, heading towards the birning buildings. "Shadow Comet!" echoed her voice in the distance. Cometramon flew faster, forming a force that looked like a misty purple comet around her. She sped around the burning buildings, agitating the fires greatly and cauding them to implode on themselves or turn into mere embers. As she did this to more and more buildings, the comet began to leave a trail of fire--Cometramon was birning herself in the process. Yet Cometramon was able to figure this out before hurting herself too much--soon she headed back to the river and took a quick dip in it, extinguishing the fire. Then she started heading back to her job. Meanwhile, Zuri sat rather calmly atop the lamppost. She focused herself, as if starting to pray. "Forces of water..." The words trailed off as she shifted her attention to the river without actually looking at it. Before long, without her realization, the light in the lammpost turned off... She hoped the same would happen to the fires, "without and within", as she might say. The water that is holy... Let it calm the fires that arise from our wooden souls rubbing together, in conflict. Let it wash over us--wet wood will not make fire. So then I hope that all those present here would allow that gift of nature, to allow us to tame the fires that are raging... We, the Tamers, let us dive in and embrace the peace. So hear me, if you can, all digital world... Yet still, outside the fire raged on and on, and who knew what lay beyond the flames...
15. Ooh cool, I can make up Pokemon! Yay! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Name: Ari Monokai Age: 16 Side: Snag' em Appearance: Ari is exactly 5 feet tall, her skin a pale yellowish tan. She's neither muscular, fat, nor bony--petite would best describe it. Her hair goes just below her shoulders and is straight and black, though its seems to be dark blue at certain times... Her eyes are dark--the color is not certain though. She wears a medium-sleeved dark blue jacket that looks like a cross between a trenchcoat and a knee-length dress, plus dark gray pants and black boots with fairly high heels. Matching all this is a deep blue hat (and sometimes black gloves), and she also wears glasses. Personality: All her life Ari has been a computer freak. Though she's not as eccentric as that stereotype is, she is as intelligent. As far as other things go, she is basically a loner and is not compatible with pretty much any type of relationship--even with her Pokemon. She prefers to do things her own creative way and also do them herself. Though she is slightly pessimistic and hard to please, she is also quite intuitive, and she never shows any extreme emotions, except on rare occasions. History: Ari's older brother, Gon, was a successful Pokemon trainer at one point--he specialized in bug Pokemon. However, he wasn't into competing that much, so he usually stayed at home watching TV with his Pokemon by his side. Ari was interested in Pokemon as well, and much of her online time was spent on Pokemon-related sites. She hardly ever went off the computer, except for an occasional walk with Gon when she was little, and also school. Speaking of school, Ari was always one of the best in her class just because she was one of the smartest, not because she studied hard or did homework. But one day, something came into Ari's computer--a combination of an email and a virus. This strange force came from Team Snag'em and gave Ari her first Pokemon and a really good job. Given her intelligence and computer skills, as well as her affiliation with Pokemon, she rose up pretty quickly in the team. She never lost her good side, but she always had a tendency towards the evil. Starting Pokemon Name: Shinai Species: Misdreavus Attacks: Psywave, Shadow Ray (a beam of dark energy that lowers Special Defense), Pain Split, Plasmaspiral (a spiraling wave that is a ghost attack yet counts as a special attack) Description: Shinai's neck orbs are a deep red, almost like blood--perhaps this is what inspired her name. Shinai is very creative--she likes to do things out of the ordinary, to ignore limits and rules. At the same time, she has a tendency to be sadistic--perhaps it was this that inspired her orb colour. This trait is mild, but it emerges more when she evolves... Yes, she does evolve--into Harmonique, a witch Pokemon with the ability to morph her attacks to have different shape and/or effect. Perfect--an enhancement on her creativity! Name: Kawaine Species: Puffly Attacks: Charm, Attract, Assist, Tantrum (causes the foe to flinch but does not do damage) Description: Kawaine, like all Puffly, evolves into Skitty eventually. But who knows whether that will happen... (And, here Delcatty will evolve as well if she gets that far...) Anyways, Kawaine has all the innocence and cuteness of a toddler. Her favorite thing in the world is cake, and she just can't help but be cute. However, she does get scared easily... Thus she and Shinai don't get along very well. Name: Tsukimi Species: Retron Attacks: Confusion, Vibrate (raises Special Attack and Speed), Iron Defense, Shootingstar (looks similar to Swift except it hits multiple times like Fury Attack) Description: A Retron is of the Psychic-type and evolves into Alphos, then Neuric Tsukimi is very curious, but no matter what she discovers, she still doesn't seem to know very much--she tends to be pretty naive. But she's one of the battlers of the group--battling is pretty much the only thing she's good at. In battle she tends to overestimate herself though. Name: Henshu Species: Yanma Attacks: Vibrate (see Tsukimi's attacks), Tornado Wave (stronger version of Gust that may blow the foe away), Signal Beam, Staticbolt (Electric attack with a high chance of paralyzing the foe) Description: Henshu is a Pokemon of service. She often serves as a lookout or delivery Pokemon. She doesn't like battles but does like contests--she was pleased when Ari thought of being a coordinator. She's very obedient but also clever--she can come up with her own methods to get the job done. Anyways, if she does come close to the life of a contest Pokemon, she might evolve into the oh-so-stylish Saiyanma... Name: Shokuchi Species: Jawpy Attacks: Bite, Growl, Ember, Tantrum (see Kawaine's attacks) Description: Shokuchi is in many ways on the same level as Kawaine as far as maturity goes. At first her temper is as hot as her element, but she calms down through evolution. Speaking of evolution, she evolves into Growlithe. Shokuchi isn't a battle-style Pokemon, but she is there to carry out missions for Snag'em, and she makes a good sturdy guard dog. Name: Kairuna Species: Morphicate Attacks: Role Play, Psych Up, Mimic, Projection (creates a copy of the foe much like Ditto's Transform does, but it's a separate Pokemon) *The other attacks can only be used in double battles or when Projection fails. Description: I don't know why I'm wasting my time describing the attacks--Kairuna is more of an aide than anything else. It never battles but rather helps Ari plan things for Snag'em, and it carries out "sneaky" duties as well. Much like Mewtwo, it's pretty much cynical and thinks highly of its abilities, but on the other hand, it doesn't like to use force. (Kairuna is called an "it" because Morphicate is a genderless Pokemon.) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I hope that was OK with six Pokemon, so long as less than half of them really battle at all... Oh, and if you click on the name of any new Pokemon, you will see a picture.
16. OOC: Just so you know, Livremon can't walk since she has no legs... The whole line flies instead--except for her In-Training form... By the way, Oramon's In-Training form is here--she's on the top right--the one with the hat. Same colour scheme as Livremon, but her name is Spiramon. IC: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ On the far end of the table, Zuri stared at the quarreling waiters then turned sideways to look at Spiramon. Spiramon sat still on the table, looking as adorable as a doll. But during certain moments, she laughed at the waiters. A few moments later, the quarreling got so wild that Spiramon thought it very funny--she fell over onto her back while laughing, rolled over a few times, and fell off onto the seat. She then started to roll off the table, but luckily she realized what she was doing in time and started to float back onto the table. "Still a ghost huh," Zuri commented. "Always will be. You know, I've been thinking that tamers' Digimon are chosen because of their individual qualities, such as their personalities. Therefore, it is highly appropriate that I found you. Couldn't have asked for anyone better." "Aww, that's cute!" Spiramon giggled. "A witch for a witch, as I might say!" "Well, I guess I'm supposed to feel flattered," Zuri replied, blushing slightly in a mixture of flattery and embarassment. "Wow, what has made you so cheerful? You were never this way when you were Livremon, Oramon even..." "Better get used to it!" Spiramon gave a thumbs-up to Zuri and winked. "Digimon can be different in their different evolutionary stages." "Kind of like a werewolf in two different forms... except you're a milder version." "That Rampantmon though... he's like a werewolf almost--he attacked me that one time!" "When will you get over that?" Zuri asked in an exasperated tone, glancing over at Azari and his Digimon. "I did... just referring. Hey, did I just hear your stomach growl?" "No matter, and besides this service is bad. Let's just investigate the rest of the town." "But Zhuqiaomon..." Spiramon remembered. "He said the tamers must stick together." "No," Zuri corrected. "He said, 'Apart you are strong, but together you are the unstoppable Digidestined.' Emphasis on the first part." "Well all right then..." Spiramon answered in a whiny tone. As Zuri left the diner, Spiramon hovered behind her, secretly keeping a sharp eye out for food.
17. "Hey, good idea!" Azari agreed. He glanced over at Rylonamon, who was sitting down against a tree. She looked a little tired. Maybe it's from being Rampantmon, Azari figured--he knew how wild she was in her Ultimate form and was thus fairly relieved she wasn't in that form. After all, Rampantmon had almost destroyed an ally during the scuffle with the devils. "All right Livremon," Zuri said, glancing sideways at Rylonamon occasionally. She noticed Livremon staring at the Digimon. "'Tis best to forgive her," Zuri reassured. "Power can sometimes get out of control. But at least she didn't hurt you--I hope--thank goodness you're immune to plain old physical attacks, my ectoplasmic friend." Livremon giggled softly at this last comment. "I shall return to soft combat, then," Livremon declared--her voice was smooth and angelic. After all talk among the two ceased, Livremon floated down a few inches, gathered her focus, and then took off, gliding up in a soft spiral until she was about a quarter-mile near BlackWarGreymon. At the same time, WereGarurumon was prepering for battle. Rushing up a steep cliff behind the tamers, he prepared the power of his next blow. Then he jumped off with wolflike stealth, until he was about the same distance away from the villain as Livremon was. "Wolf Claw!" At WereGarurumon's distance, the attack would have taken a few seconds to reach BlackWarGreymon, giving BlackWarGreymon time to dodge. But luckily, BlackWarGreymon watching Livremon, who was flying around just like a graceful dance, as well as humming to herself (though BlackWarGreymon could hear). When WereGarurumon first launched the attack, though, Livremon stopped, opening her book and running a hand over it, as if casting a spell. "Tome of Quills." At that point, BlackWarGreymon held up his shield, but he was still looking at Livremon. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see the approacing WereGarurumon attack. Frustrated, he spun around mid-air to try to block the Wolf Claw as well as the silvery quills surrounding BlackWarGreymon. "Static Force!" If that wasn't enough, Aquilamon has snuck up on BlackWarGreymon from behind, attacking his back. Yet still, BlackWarGreymon was spinning before the attacks hit. Wolf Claw, Electro Blast, and Tome of Quills ate away at BlackWarGreymon's shield. At the same time, quills were hitting BlackWarGreymon's spinning head and shoulders from above. When the attacks were done, a cloud of smoke wasfizzling around BlackWarGreymon. BlackWarGreymon had an angry look in his eyes, quills stuck in his upper body, and a withered shield that was less than a foot in diameter.
18. Back in the dark forest... The three devils had just appeared, and Hawkmon had just Digivolved to Silphymon. Silphymon spread his wings and flew up to prepare and attack, and the three devils started preparing as well. "Skull..." Before anyone could finish what they were saying, before any Digimon could attack, a new sound wafted through the air. It wasn't a scream or a battle cry or anything--it was a mystifying yet gentle sound. It was a song. No one could make out any lyrics in this song--either they were in an esoteric language or just gibberish. But whatever it was, it really was beautiful, with a calm yet melancholy tune. Even in the rising heat of battle, no one attacked--they were all stunned by the song, from which they could see no singer. As the time went by, a light began to form in between the three devils, one that opened outward as if coming from the pages of a book, with warmth that can remind one of a candle. Unlike many of the others, Rraikmon struggled to hear what the song really was about. In the moments before the light appearted, she thought she could make out words, most noticeably "quill" and most likely "dome". What is this about? Rraikmon wondered. Oh wait now... "ask my"... what was that word, "vine"? She struggled to hear what was being said, but soon enough something else happened... Dark green vines wrapped around the devils' feet, bounding them towards the ground. They must have been painful as they were covered in spines. But the material was peculiar--they appeared to be made of a gaseous substance, or plasma... Back to the real world--or Digital World in this case. Those who were entranced by the song now came back to their senses--there was a fight to go on. Finally the Digimon's attacks started to resume--even the devils attacked with anything but their feet. A few attacks from Silphymon, from LadyDevimon, and then... "Hey look!" Rraikmon said, poking Azari in the leg and also pointing in the space above where the light had been. Azari followed her pointing, though it was indeed strange... There, floating above the ground, out of the reach of the devils, was Livremon. Azari stared at her for a moment, susprised, until he felt a tap on his back. He looked around to see who it was... "Zuri!" And pretty soon the whole group knew of the new arrivals. OOC: If you're wondering how Zuri got there, there was a portal beneath where she lay in the desert she was in that activated once she slipped into that meditation from before.
19. Yeah, weapons were a big concern with Chibu, so that's why I had other plans for a character... She just isn't a very strong fighter especially as far as weapons and such go, but I suppose I could change her in one of two ways: --One "weapon" I can give her is mirror--a sort of "magical" mirror so that anyone who sees his/her reflection in it while attacking or something will end up attacking him/herself. --That, or I can just give her telekinesis or some other psychic power. (since you said those powers are OK)
20. One RPG I've always wanted to join is one that's pretty much like a Pokemon journey as a group--kind of similar to the anime but everyone works together to become champions (instead of just one person being the hero). It would have to be a pretty small group (about 3-6 people), but it could get really interactive and interesting...
21. Come to think of it, I could be the heroin instead--she's one of my other plans. But my other plans for a character to use here are: Mereduin--A little girl with fire powers that has a sister in the Brotherhood. She herself would most likely be in the Star Gazers. (To make it more interesting, either she or her sister could be Hyo's daughter--well that would make them cousins or something instead. Who the daughter is depends on whether psychic powers are OK abilities to have in this RPG.) Turue--A "rabbit man" who is kind of naive but is a high-ranking Federation member. He has a pretty strong goal to infiltrate the Brotherhood. Nettle--The heroin. She's not too aggressive--at home she's a peaceful elf that looks after a forest--but she does have a main goal to stop the Federation. (Maybe she can Turue could be in the RPG together...) Yes, those are my plans B, C, and D... though they seem more like Plan A's the more I think of them...
22. OOC: Gee, I'm the only one without a Digimon... IC: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Zuri looked around--she was standing in a desert at night. Though the moons weren't visible, the stars cast a purple glow on the desert sand, wondrous bodies in the vastness of digital space. However, there wasn't a soul around--no Prairiemon relaxing in the glow, no Togemon standing idly, no voices heard from any direction... What was worse, Zuri soon found out that her Digi-Egg was missing! Oramon? Zuri thought, worry starting to rise inside her. Where have the stars taken you now? Anyone would be worried about the safety of a young Digimon in an unknown place--what if they got attacked by BlackWarGreymon's minions, or worse, the bane himself? What if they took her away and possibly destroyed her? The desert seemed so vast and silent--not even a breeze blew through, and the only sight in the distance was an endless plane of sand. It was just below room temperature--Zuri was thankful it was nighttime. She was especially thankful because of the stars--never in the real world had she seen such a clear view. She loved this place--a pleasant darkness all around, a broad vastness of land, an especially clear sky and fresh air--nothing could be more perfect. An especially valiant soul would at this point go searching for the missing Digi Egg. Zuri did consider this, but then she realized the vastness of the space, and the time it would take to get out of this place, if there was a way. She had thoughts about running forever in the sand, till the end of time. So all she did was look up at the stars, calling out to whoever was inside the egg. "Divine spirit, you are so present within the holiness of the stars..." Zuri spoke to the sky. Her voice split the air without so much as an echo. "All throughout, you observe all of us just as stars hover all around, you look but you do not act--and so is the mystery of fate." With that, Zuri sat down and further calmed herself. "And here I sit--watching as the stars pass, the stars which hold hints of the day to come, the day when I carry on here under observance of the stars--but unable to witness them--so is the time when I act at last. But now, now is the time when sight of these spiritual qualities can fully take place, when one can look to you for some sort of clue... the means by which we all seem to control our destinies." At this point Zuri felt a spark of inspiration, to some degree... She then lay down, her back against the cool sand, her sight fixed on the stars even more. She lingered there for a few more moments, then, almost inadvertently, began to close her eyes. Before landing in a full trance, though, Zuri spoke one final word: "Oramon".
23. OOC: Sorry for the long break... but I'm in about 6 RPGs at once on various sites... IC: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Everyone's Digimon are already at Champion level, Zuri thought, but power isn't everything. "Oramon," Zuri called quietly to the ghostly Digimon at her side, "I believe that soon it is time to enter this battle." "Without Digivolving..." Oramon answered, sounding only the slightest bit surprised. "There is a way," Zuri reassured as the two continued to watch the battle. Both of them kept hidden behind a tree. Meanwhile, Duskmon lay face-down on the ground after suffering three serious hits. Yet as Aquilamon launched an attack meant to destroy Duskmon at last ("Blast Rings!"), Duskmon made a move that surprised him. But something else was happening at the same time... At the last moment, right before Aquilamon's attack hit... "Slide Evolution... Velgmon!" ...Velgmon flew out from the spot where he once lay as Duskmon. "Whoa," Zalina commented. "How could he still have enough energy left to do that?" "Beats me," Mira shrugged. Typical... Zuri thought, still hidden. Dark creatures--maybe this applies to Digimon too--usually have mysterious supplies of energy at hand... And at last, Zuri emerged from her hiding place, though none of the tamers nor their Digimon saw her. They only noticed when the all-seeing Velgmon spotted her. "Perfect," Velgmon declared in satisfaction, "a new tamer to sink my teeth into." No fool would be stupid enough to come here without Digimon. Zuri, meanwhile, stood there with a blank expression on her face, hovering between fear and determination inside of her. But as Velgmon was flying towards Zuri, a beam shot out of nowhere into one of Velgmon's eyes. Automatically, Velgmon turned back into Duskmon, but the eye (which was now the one on his chest) still flickered as if in pain. "Sonic Horns!" The attack hit another Duskmon eye--Duskmon was distracted and befuddled by the beam out of nowhere. This frustrated Duskmon a bit, though two of his eyes had been damaged. Three. Another unknown beam shot into another Duskmon eye--the right shoulder one. Four. Five. Six. Now the only eyes left were on his head and his left foot. In his rage, Duskmon took out his blade, which glowed an ominous crimson. The sight reminded the group of the Devimon lot. This he slashed around, hoping to cut through the source of the beam. It also blocked a few oncoming attacks by the other Digimon in the process. And then it happened. Within less than a second, Duskmon had found the victim and slashed it badly. It was Oramon! Zuri's heart lept at the sight of this, but though she was wide-eyed, she didn't panic too much. In fact, she ordered the others out of their shock... "Come on people, don't distract from Duskmon!" Zuri commanded. Though some still wore surprised looks, they soon re-entered the fight. While Duskmon was smiling (if you could tell), Zephyrmon, being very quick, was first to strike. "Plasma Pods!" This attack knocked Duskmon back on the ground where he was before. "Let's try this again!" Zephyrmon declared. "Blast Rings!" Aquilamon's same move as before, followed by... "Tail Slam!" "Howling Blaster!" These attacks finally made work of Duskmon--soon he was all data. While the tamers cheered (and Zephyrmon turned back into Skye), Masaru smiled faintly as he sat there somberly, still holding his Digi-Egg. Yet he wasn't the only one... Near the spot where Duskmon had been, Oramon hovered stiffly in the air, wincing quietly yet painfully. A large and prominent cut seemed to nearly slice her body in half horizontally, and out of it, wispy substances streamed out--sort of like blood but not really because Oramon was digital as well as part ghost. Zuri, begining to feel nervous, walked up to Oramon in all her suffering, trying to make her feel as much better as possible. But the instant Zuri touched her, Oramon exploded into a cloud of data. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ OOC: Don't worry, this doesn't mean Zuri's out of the RPG--just wait and see.
24. Hmmm... sounds interesting! Now, I must take 15 minutes deciding which character to use... Ah well, since there's already a cat-person... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Name: Chibutakamo Nickname: Chibu Age: 12 Side: She'd fit best in the Star Gazers, but for extra fun I'll put her in the Federation instead... Personality: Chibu is quite playful and energetic. She likes to have fun and such, but she also likes to help others out. She can also be described as obedient, and she trusts others easily as well. This can make her pretty much gullible though... But the good thing is, she doesn't fret over her mistakes too badly--she even tends to either forget or completely ignore them. Leading to this, she is quite curious but also pretty naive. Often times she does things without really knowing the purpose behind them. After all, she is pretty young to start figuring all that out... Speaking of which, her judgment is fairly poor--she especially has a hard time distinguishing between a friend and a foe and often has to be told which is which. Also, she won't dare to hurt people she knows and/or trusts, but enemies and strangers are a different story, especially if they're smaller than she is--they're hard to distinguish from prey. Yet aside from the many weaknesses explained, she does rely on fate to carry her along, and partially as a result of that, she is quite intuitive as well as lucky. She also hardly ever talks--which is good because she can't talk all that well given she's used to a different language. Appearance: Chibu may look pretty much human on land, but she's actually a fylin--basically half human half fish, but very different from a mermaid. Fylin have thin arms and legs with fins extending out from them. In Chibu's case, she has fairly long aquamarine hair and bright lavender eyes, and finlike ears that make her look elf-like. Her body is covered with near-invisible white scales, plus silky aqua fins that look like clothing. The same billowing aqua fins extend from her arms and legs, making her look like an elegant humanoid fish. Finishing that is a deep cerulean fan-like tail. Oh and did I not mention, she's only four-and-a-half feet tall. (yes, tall--she can still walk on land) Weapons: Her short fangs (which are only starting to become poisonous given her age) sort of count, but other thn that the only "real" weapon she has is a long strand of tough seaweed that can be used as a rope, whip, or a shield against electricity provided it isn't wet. Ability: Other than the above and a few fish characteristics (esp. the ability to breathe underwater as well as out), a sort of heightened hearing given the shape of her ears, and with that good navigation skills. She also has a psychic ability that could be telekinesis except it looks more like a wave or show of lights and thus can wave into hypnotism. Flash back: There sat a middle-aged woman on a wooden bench. Her backyard faced the chilly northern ocean, and the cool breeze kept her amused as she waited patiently for a disturbance in the gentle waves. Finally it came--a small splash, and a cute little head emerged from the water's surface. This was the fylin that this woman kept as a sort of pet, but she actually came to her out of curiosity--she was more of a friend. She had a pleasant expression on her face and a fish in her mouth. "Oh... Chibu!" The woman greeted, getting up and walking over to the edge of the water, kneeling down to pat Chibu on the head. After she did this, Chibu lowered her head to a large rock, carefully releasing her fish from her fangs' grip onto it. Then the expression on her face turned slightly puzzled as the woman picked up the fish, examining it. "Oh, just checking..." the woman explained, "...for poison." "Bo...?" Chibu asked her, not bothering to say "why" instead though she knew the word. "Well, you're... almost at the stage where... where you might become venomous, like a snake of sorts." "Or maybe a vampire?" Chibu said carefully and almost fearfully. "No, silly," the woman laughed, "vampires'll bite you and drink your blood, but they're not venomous... or at least I don't believe so." "I met one that was," Chibu mentioned as she started to drift away from the rock, back to the open sea. "Anyways..." the woman digressed. "Farewell for now--enjoy your seabound friends, and stay away from your sister for me! And thanks for the fish--I wish I could repay you in some way, but you never accept money, do you...?" "No need to," Chibu answered as she nodded, then dove back underwater.
25. OOC: All right, it is time... IC: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "No I am not," Sisturnia answerd the confused Uni with a little giggle. "Whoa!" Sisturnia jumped as a mutant Kougra and a Mazzew came boinding out of the Mystery Island Door. Sisturnia quicly crossed her arms and focused her energies, apparently on the center of the room... for the center seemed to shine with a clear sort of shield that had just formed around it. The Kougra bumped into this wall before causing any damage. "Well, Kaiyasolia, what a surprising entrance!" Sisturnia exclaimed, after which she started to calm herself down again. A few seconds later, a pink Xweetok slid out from the Kiko Lake door, looking just as puzzled and astounded as everyone else. And finally, a sleeping robot Acara slid out from the Kreludor door. Sisturnia had to pat the Acara on the head then snap her fingers at it--part of a spell she used for awakening. Sure enough, this was achieved. It was then that Sisturnia made her announcement. "So, we're finally all here. Kaiyasolia, Airobeth, Bloom, and Gamma, and all your petpets and petpetpets, my humblest welcome." By that time, all the pets had fallen silent, hoping to catch a speck of information, and the answers to their questions about this happening. Sisturnia cleared her throat to command attention, then continued: "Now that you have all arrived, it is time that you know why you are here, and what is to become of you all in the near future. I have called you four here on a special mission, a chance to really prove yourselves as well as the ultimate glory: saving Neopia from a terrible fate. Some of you may have already noticed this, but faeries have been disappearing rapidly from Neopia for some unknown reason. And it's not just the good faeries--Jhudora and the other evil faeries have disapeared as well. Your job is to find the culprit behind this, to punish him/her/it, and to return the faeries to Neopia, peace and magic above all. Without them, Neopia would never be the same. Now, I would go out and find them on my own, but I have vowed to remain here, hidden from the rest of Neopia for eternity--a great sacrifice for survival here. I bear this fate forever, so I instead call upon a group of worthy pets to solve this mission. That's where you come in." Many of the pets were surprised by Sisturnia's statement; thoughts of saving the world, responsitbility, risk, honor, or anything else that may go with a mission such as this surged through their minds. "May I set up a few guidelines before you begin," Sisturnia continued, commanding attention once more. "Though you may go your separate ways to solve this mission, I personally recommend that you stick together as it will decrease your chances of being picked off by whatever enemies should await you. Yes, I perceive some sort of conflict, possibly even battles of sorts... so this will also be a test of your abilities." "You mean we'll have to fight?" Bloom blurted. She was uneasy with the idea, as she didn't have that many abilities and no weapons to use in battles. Many other pets had similar feelings, especially Gamma. And I don't even have Kitepuka to help me, Gamma worried. Sisturnia heaved a great sigh after which she continued in a grave tone, "Yes, I am sorry to inform you that there is a chance that some of you will not make it, but we can only hope for what fate will bring us..." Everyone fell silent at this remark. "Anyways, continuing on," Sisturnia broke the ice. "Yes, it is true that you may face some battles or instances where certain powers will prove quite useful..." There were feelings of confusion in the audience. Powers? What powers? "Ah, this is where it gets interesting," Sisturnia replied with a confident smile on her face. "Kaiyasolia, will you please step forward." Everyone fixed their gaze on the mutant Kougra as she stepped forward. Kaiyasolia appeared quite serious yet still had no idea what this meant. She also felt a little excited--she loved the idea of battles and such. Whatever came up, she was eager... "Leave your Mazzew there please," Sisturnia commanded. Though Kaiyasolia just looked from side to side as if to spot the Mazzew, it was the petpet that obeyed her ordersand slid off Kaiyasolia's back. Kaiyasolia noticed this and continued to walk forward until she was standing right in front of Sisturnia. "You will be my guinea pig, O bravehearted and ruthless one." As Sisturnia said this, she bent down and put her right hand on Kaiyasolia's forehead as if to feel if she had a fever. "Don't move..." Sisturnia told her, "and try not to think either. This won't hurt a bit." And with that, Sisturnia began the incantation... "Motes of power, spirits of the Scythe, focus your powers and unite! Unite--for the destroyer, for the blade..." As she said this, her hand glowed, and Kaiyasolia felt a strange yet wonderful and empowering energy flow through her. It felt like a dip in the Healing Spring--only with the addition of a greater, mysterious power... Yet seconds later, Sisturnia removed her hand and gazed down at Kaiyasolia. "Kaiyasolia, I grant you a deadly slash, one which can tear the limbs off any weak-bodied individual, destroyer as you are... And, through the powers of rage and imtimidation, I also bid that you may power this up to take on stronger foes, given the will of Time. As is my will, as are the divine powers of fate, belief, and inspiration." With a clap of her hands, Sisturnia ended this and dismissed Kaiyasolia back to where she sat before. "Bloom!" Sisturnia called. Jumping to her feet and trembling slightly, Bloom crept slowly towards Sisturnia, wondering what would happened to her. One thing was sure, though--at least she wasn't first. As she had done with Kaiyasolia, Sisturnia put her hand to Bloom's forehead and spoke the incantation once more. "Motes of flame, motes of play, focus your energies and rejoice inside the soul that lies before you! Awaken--for the rising star, that friendly fire..." As before, Sisturnia hand glowed, and a surge of soothing yet invigorating energy flowed through Bloom, warming her from the inside out, her very heart to the last toe. It was relaxing, but at the same time deeply energizing. Seconds later, Sisturnia removed her hand to speak her next words to the Xweetok. "Bloom, I grant you inner fire, powers that rage from inside your heart, your soul, to overcome any troubles that may try to block your way to happiness. Powers of fire, a spiral cyclone, motes of flame that originate from the lively breath I see inside of you. See this as the key to confidence and self-fulfillment, for your world is what you make of it. As is my will, as are the divine powers of fate, belief, and inspiration." A clap of her hands meant that Sisturnia was done with Bloom, who walked slowly back over to her original position with Stella, her Angelpuss. She was in a sort of trance, like she couldn't believe what was just granted to her. "Airobeth!" was the third one called. With a bit of enthusiasm and anticipation, the Halloween Uni stepped forward until she too met the seemingly dark faerie. Soon, Airobeth too felt Sisturnia's hand on her forehead. As Airobeth got used to this new feeling, Sisturnia spoke the incantation... "Motes of energy, of flame and of light, let your holy rays converge onto this dear Uni's precious horn, let the energies surge through till they cover all areas of the bodily temple..." As soon as the final word was spoken, Airobeth felt the surge of energy Sisturnia spoke of--it felt healing as well as awakening, as if a new door had opened inside her soul, something that had not been looked at before... Yet as Airobeth again got used to it, it began to slip away, though the energy remained. Sisturnia's hand was removed, and soon the faerie spoke again: "Airobeth, I grant you the power that awakens in your very soul, your horns and your feet in particular. I welcome you now to trod on those hooves of fire, to let your energies blaze in a whirl of courage and passion that will show those bullies who's really weak. And your horn--let these new energies stun anyone that meets its contact--the very workings of karma, revenge for an assault on a glorious Uni like yourself. Keep the spirit alive! As is my will, as are the divine powers of fate, belief, and inspiration." And with that, she dismissed Airobeth back to where Spinner waited. The Uni felt like a new Uni, and new confidence raged in her just as Sisturnia wished. "Gamma!" The final pet was called to the stage. Sighing and bowing her head, she walked up until she was near Sisturnia. Withing seconds, Sisturnia placed her hand on Gamma's metallic forehead. Immediately electrical as well as spiritual energies began to buzz through Gamma from its holy source--Gamma felt wonderful for once. She began to feel flattered and started to cry inside--did she really deserve this?--but she tried her best to calm her emotions, just this once. A moment later, Sisturnia's voice came again. "Motes of mind and nerve, of the kinetic forces that inscribe in the workings of the mind and trickle down through the body... Make yourselves known inside her, life yourselves to awaken a higher power..." The energies felt before were nothing compared to a new wave of them caused by this spell. For the first time in perhaps forever, Gamma really felt her mind, body, and soul awaken to the new power that surged through her. She felt energixed, she felt healed, she felt certainly like a different Acara. Though Sisturnia soon after removed her hand, the energies resonated through Gamma in her mind. Meanwhile, Sisturnia's words continued to come. "Gamma, I grant you a higher mind, electrical and visionary forces that are only enhanced by the powerful states of mind you constantly find yourself in. With this power of electricity, you can really tap into the frces in others and the environment, and to really express and release your true energies. And as with those robotic eyes of yours, let their qualities be enhanced as well... I infuse them with a force that will thwart the mind of the onlooker should you call upon their power, and whether it take control or simply confound. Should you need to release those energies in attack, I bid you may do so. Perhaps this will lead you astray from your feelings. As is my will, as are the divine powers of fate, belief, and inspiration." With a clap of her hands, Sisturnia sent Gamma back to her original spot, the only one without a petpet. Gamma still felt the energies as she tried to make sense out of Sisturnia's final words. "Now, all of you!" Sisturnia once again commanded attention. "I hope that answers your inquiries, for you have just been given special powers that will indeed help you in those critical situations." Some of the pets oohed at this statement. "Now I believe it is about time for you to go, but before I release you, I have something for all of you." Sisturnia held up her hand again, and four bright green orbs materialized above it. All these morphed into sorts of electronic devices which matched the color of all the pets in the room. Sisturnia gave one of these to each pet. "I understand that you may encounter difficulties and confusions on your quest, or you may just nead reassurance. Whatever the reason, I give you these communicators. With these devices, you may talk to me or any of your fellow travelers. Note that I will be watching you on this quest whenever I can--but other than that I let you all free." With those final words, Sisturnia turned her attention to a door, which now said "Neopia Central" above it. She then led the pets to stand right behind this door as she said her goodbyes. "I wish you all the best of luck. Remember your mission: seek out the faeries and defeat the bane behind the disappearances. Now go--the fate of all Neopia rests in your hands." And with that, the pets exited the door into Neopia Central--which seemed to exit right out of the Rainbow Fountain--their abilities also included passing through the magical borders on Sisturnia's doors. When everyone was out, Sisturnia closed the door--it was all up to fate now.
