Originally posted by Drix D'Zanth ...Then we have Avril. Avril here doesn't sing like the rest of the punk band.. she sings "pop (take this figuratively please)" , "soft rock" , and calls it PUNK! She is going against the SYSTEM that is PUNK!
no, that is STUPID! soft rock is not punk, and pop (or what most people consider to be pop) is not punk. therefore, her music is not punk. just like 3 plus 2 doesn't make 6. despite the fact that she insists that her music is punk, if it sounds like pop/etc., then it probably is, don't you think? she can wear her zipper ties and act like a punk as much as she wants, but her music is not punk. I've laughed at the mortal peril of movie characters, but I don't recall any specific time I've laughed at someone irl in serious pain. although I most likely probably have at some point.

I own about 50 CD's, if you don't include ones that have gone 'missing' *cough*stolen*cough*. here's the Guzzlefish list of most of 'em; they didn't list some of the stuff I've got. quite a mixture of things in there. most of the more embarrassing items listed are things I got back in the days of 6th grade, so be nice :p. I think I have around 10 burned copies of various CD's or MP3's. as for what I still listen to, just whatever I'm in the mood for, I guess. some CD's are just played more than others, lol.

for some sweet, sweet lovin'. meh. actually, I just got tired of seeing some people (can't remember anyone specific at the top of my head) with stuff like "Married to
nobody
on
never
," so on and so forth, with a line after it going something like "
I need to get married. Anybody, please! PM me.
". actually, now that I've been looking around for who those people were, they either changed it, or they haven't come on lately. but oh well. anywho, so I won't get in trouble for straying off-topic... there's 26 episodes. the one with the old three-tooth dude was.....*looks on Yahoo and finds out theOtaku had a Trigun section ^_^'*..... episode 5, I think. not sure when Legato shows up for the first time, but I think it's about 5 episodes later, maybe. hmmmm, where to start..... the Japanese va's are overall better than the dub va's, but I personally like the dubbing more than the original voices. I thought for the most part they did a pretty good job on picking the main characters' voice actors (except for Meryll *blegh* and maybe Knives, I'm not too fond of his voice. but that's just a personal nitpick). Bosh did really well, I thought. he didn't make Vash sound as serious (or monotone, imo) as the Japanese va when he did Vash's voice, since in front of everybody Vash is supposed to sound crazy as all get out, and he did a good job doing that. and he still did well in the more serious moments, too. but the minor characters voices really bother me. just plain out bad voice acting *vomit*. but besides the minor characters that make one or two appearances throughout the series, the people are half the reason why I watch it. I absolutely love Vash, Wolfwood and Legato. the only people that get on my nerves are Meryll and Millie, cuz Meryll is a pain in the butt, and Millie just .......aggravates me. needs a good kick in the rear to get her brain in gear *rhyme-ness*. I don't care much for the first half of the series compared to the last half, though some of the episodes from that part in the series were pretty good or funny. the minor fights here and there that Vash gets in were just filler a lot of the time, and during one or two episodes I was counting down the minutes until it was over so I could get to watching some decent episodes. the last half is what makes up for it for me.
...I'm not even sure what some of you are going on about at this point. My compaints with the visuals and dubbing were minor ones. I said that in the first place. I find the characters themselves, based on the 10 episodes I've seen, to be very flat, and basically annoying. As for the three teeth guy, I don't think any amount of backstory can make up for how incredibly lame he is....
oooh, that guy is annoying! I'm pretty sure he was supposed to come off looking/sounding lame in this case though, lol. it's just some of the other minor characters that aren't supposed to sound stupid that particularly aggravate me. but I got used to it after awhile, so now I don't notice it as much anymore. plus, you got the 'bad' half of the series, so to speak, lol. not sure what all you've seen, but most everything from Legato onward is a lot better. you kinda have to watch the episodes consecutively to get a feel for it all, or else it won't hold your attention. at least, that's how it was for me, anyway ^_^'. how do you act around people you don't know? it used to be when I didn't know someone, I'd just go on doing whatever I was doing (staring out in space, usually) and act like (s)he wasn't there, since I was shy and didn't really know what to say. if (s)he tried talking to me, I'd give a quick answer and go back to what I was doing (more staring out into space), while trying to 'keep my cool', so to speak. I've just barely started getting out of that, and I notice when I come across people who act like I did, I think to some degree I did come across as not quite mean, but snubby (as opposed to snobby). reverse positions. if you were trying to be nice to someone who was, say, new at school, and you tried making conversation, wouldn't you feel a little discouraged if all you got was a '*grunt* yeah' every so often? course, I don't know the whole story, or how you or the other kid act, and I'm just coming up with some possible scenarios. but if you get the chance to see him again, prove to him that you're not a mean person, and.....I don't know, make with the friendly-ness, lol. or who knows, maybe he's the one with the issues :cross:. if that's the case, not much you can do about what he thinks of you. crud, I could've skipped kindergarten if my parents had let me :p. last year I was lucky I got a low B in biology. most of the academic awards I've gotten came from when I was in elementary school and the first year or so of middle school. then I had a particularly bad spot in 8th grade, which lingered a little bit in my freshman year as well (luckily I held onto all B's and A's, barely). it wasn't because I had gotten dumber or anything *shuts Anna and Deedlit in a closet before they can say anything*, I just really slacked off. although ever since I started reading manga, my reading speed has dropped through the floor. I think I've shaped up a bit this year though, so hopefully my grades will improve this year.

Why did you choose your screen name?
amibasuki replied to EdtheHackerGirl's topic in General Discussion
I picked amibasuki because that's what I got when I combined my two favorite characters from Fushigi Yuugi's names together (Amiboshi and Tasuki). I still like it quite a bit, but I'm thinkin' maybe it's time for a name change. maybe once I think of something decent to change it to, lol. -
Any one here ever liked a girls so much that ..........

what on earth makes you think that most guys are any different? how many times has a nice, sweet girl liked a guy, but the guy didn't like her because 'she didn't look good enough', while in the mean time he's always griping that he wished he was bangin' so-and-so, cuz 'daaaayum, she's HOT', and probably one of the most all-around stuck up people in school? it's not just teenaged girls who have their 'piroites' mixed up. -
not quite sure if this song fits me personality-wise since it's more of a story anyway, but New Found Glory's "The Story So Far" actually fits a past scenario of mine pretty closely. I get mixed feelings listening to it, but I still like it (the memories and the song) nonetheless.

I don't particularly see how that's helping to prove your point of how horrible women make men's lives, but okay. yeah, people who are nice usually do tend to like other people who are also nice, instead of people who are self-absorbed and rude, etc., etc., unless they just go for that sort of thing.
Originally posted by Shinji-Kun ...girls seem to just add to the problems that a man faces. Girls can't be trusted, they are just too 2-faced to be able to be trusted. For all you know, she could be banging your best friend, while you have the utmost confidence in her. Never, never, trust a girl.
hmmm, well, if I were to reverse the genders in the above quote, it'd come out sounding just as true. some of you boys aren't exactly peaches, either. -
heh, good luck tryin' to get both.

:drunk: no, not quite, lol. they're a rock band. the singer has a good voice, and also plays drumset for the band. download their single "Jenny Says", it's on their All You Need is Live album. it's extremely catchy ^_^.

thoughts, anyone? I got their Uh-Oh CD last Thursday, and it's pretty decent. anybody heard it, or any of their other albums?

in all honesty, men and women are not physically equal. that's just the way it is, and the way it always has been. which is why I am for the idea of most sports teams segregating the sexes. I don't know about intelligence and all that, since I've always thought that it depended on the individual, not necessarily the gender. and I'm still holding to that, no matter what science theory comes out to state otherwise :p. despite all that, both should be treated equally. as in, the guy is no more better than the girl, and the girl is no more better than the guy. I'm all for women's rights and whatnot, but I don't agree with women trying to get advantages or special extra attention simply because they're females. I bet if men were to do the same thing, the general people wouldn't give a hoot (generally, lol). as an example, that law that says colleges can admit a certain number of individuals from minorities (females, different races of people, etc., or something like that) simply for more 'cultural variety,' or whatnot (I can't remember the name of it for the life of me, it's kinda fuzzy  ). it's all great to have various backgrounds, but I think that someone should get into a college/school for their academic achievement, not because of their gender/ethnicity. meaning, if it just so happened that the best people to get admitted were mostly white males, then they should be able to go. or if they were mostly African American females, they should get to go, and so on and so forth. I think everybody gets lonely once in a while, it's inevitable. some just have it more than others, bleh. I've not felt lonely lately, since I've gotten to see friends from school I haven't seen for months. but 'lovesick' lonely I have as of late *cue dramatic violin music from instantramen14*. but 'this too shall pass,' as the saying goes, so I'm not gonna dwell on it too badly, lol.

ah yes, forgot about that. also, do NOT dress up for the first day of school, unless you just dress up every day or something of that sort. and don't bring your bookbag on the first day either, since they're just gonna be handing you papers with rules and such (easily disposed of in purse/pocketbook/pocket). course, that quirk could just be at our school or something, lol.

I put on some music, and write about 2 pages worth in my blog, lol. well, not that much, but you know what I mean. once I get my irate self written out, I'm a bit calmer and can somehow stand back and read what I wrote from a [mostly] unbiased POV, and see if I was being irrational or not. it really helps, playing pyschologist and whatnot, lol.
