Alright, I'm back!

Picture this...
A world like ours. A world of selfishness, greed, power, love, friendship, and (even if transient)peace. The world is called Sanatos, and it is the home of the Paragon. The Paragon is the ultimate symbol of power, a beautiful sword with magnificent power, and the magical aptitude to heal/kill any foe who stands against it! The problem is...

It got... misplaced...

Now it is in the hands of a rather disruptive and horrendous young ruler named Deus Marich, the Emperor of the Mantaean Empire.

Luckily for Sanatos, there is an uprising.

The (aptly named) Resistance, a group formed to limit the powers of Deus, has now issued a secret enlistment. You are on that enlistment. They will take anyone they can get... and they have a plan...

Here is what they need...

The Peoples of Sanatos:
Humans: Duh. Just all-around good at stuff. Ages 16-35
Elves: The popular view of elves, elegant, and dexterious. Better suited to ranged or indirect combat. Ages 35-86
Suma: Shorter than most other races, but better suited to magic than any other as well. Less HP, though. That's a bummer. Ages 16-45
Kindred: People of the forests. They are normal height, and very hard to see in any situation (good sense of camoflage). I'm thinking of a more thief-related class. Their weakness is their small reserves of magical energy. Ages 129-230
Murhyrr: Cat people. They stand at normal height, and are well suited to combat. They are proficient with pole weapons, but without a weapon, they are fairly weak. 16-35
Tanni: Dog people. They get on surprisingly well with the Murhyrr. They are much stronger, and able to use hand-to-hand combat efficiently, but weapons are hard for them to get. 16-35
Kame: Spirits that have regained a body are called Kame. Many are blind, which limits their use of ranged weapons, but they are quick, and able to use many types of weapons. They are very wise, and have a small recollection of their past lives. Ummmm... 298-500

Okay, now that that's all cleared up...

Name: Tanken Furmen
Age: 359 (29 in his new body)
Race: Kame
Class: Crescent Knight
Weapon of Choice: Two long swords, and a pair of hand to hand gauntlets, and a puppet.
Weapon Style: Crescent Style (two swords, gauntlets and some minor sealing spells.) (He uses one sword primarily, but for special techniques, out comes the other sword.)

What side he's on: Resistance
Why he fights: To find a purpose for his life
History of the character: He was a Myrhyrr in his past life, an elite of the Elite Crescent Knights. He knew every technique (although he only knows about 55% of them in his new body) of the Crescent Style. Although, he traded off something very precious to attain this knowledge. The girl he once loved married a noble, and he was left a lonely man. His soul left his body unsatisfied, and he has been given another chance to live his life. Unfortunately, he has no recollection of what he is living this life for, and, true to form, is again trying to remember the many techniques he knew in his past life. He knows, however, deep inside, that love is much more important than this pursuit of technique. His motives for joining The Resitance are well kept to himself, and his motives for fighting Deus are even more obscure. He keeps to himself, but will open up to those who decide to talk to him.

Body: He is a Myrhyrr in this life as well.
Hair: Black and short
Skin: Somewhat tan, but not much. Has a tattoo on his upper right arm, signifying him as a Kame.
Eyes: A bright red. He is not blind.
Build: He is medium-heavily built. He appears strong, but not nearly as strong as he actually is. He is tall, but only a bit taller than an average human.
Clothing: Lightly armored shirt and pants (green), a Cloak (also green), and a pair of lightly armored boots (green again) All bear the crescent moon, the symbol of the crescent knight. (Somewhat of a modern look, but with a bit of European rennaisance)
Overall Appearance: Attractive, but definetely not bishonen.

All in all: The Technique obsessed Knight with a power complex

ALSO: THIS IS A FUTURISTIC WORLD! Let's see some futuristic implementations!

Great posts, everyone! All we need are a few enemy characters, (No, Drizzt, you don't have to be one.) and we're pretty much set. Yes, Rhym is an advocate of mine, so I will tell him to get online and post new information for me on occasion.

Why they fight: For power, for glory, and for conquest.
History of the character: A generally evil and bad-tempered guy, who was abandoned at an early age from the Arcadan empire. He learned to fight from a group of nomads moving through the land, and found that he was adept at fighting in the form of a zodiac. He went on to conquer greater and greater enemies, until they supported and erected the mantaean empire. He is evil. Very evil, but very devoted to his Empire. He would rather die than have his men massacred because of him.

Hair: Black and long.
Skin: Dark, with the symbol of exile imprinted on it.
Eyes: Yellow (due to his bond with the dragon and the monkey)
Build: Muscular, but not overly so. He is large, and very quick.
Clothing: Think EVIL ROYAL EMPEROR PERSON clothes

All in all: The bad apple that's still good got good seeds. (^_^ ummm I just made that up now...)

A BRIEF(!) History of the character: Little is known about Vincent, most of the people that knew too much have ceased to exist due to suspicious circumstances.

Vincent?s parents died due to scandal evolving an Empire from the far north called the Rheiardian Empire at an early age, and was sent to a workhouse, making machine parts at gunpoint. Only the strong survived and the weak perished, it was a dog-eat-dog world. After 7 years, Vincent made a break for it and in a fit of rage slaughtered the labourers.

Vincent awoke in bloodstained rags. Luckily, the other boys from the workhouse had saved him from arrest and had helped him out. One of the older boys called Lei noticed his killing skills and the way he wielded his sword like a natural, after all Lei used to be a Mercenary before he was caught and sent to the workhouse. So after thought, they formed there own Mercenary business to get money to support the boys. But after Lei became greedy and a renegade, Vincent had no choice but to kill him or eventually be killed. After consideration, Vincent said his goodbyes to the boys and set out as a lone Mercenary, loosing a great deal of trust for others

[b]Why they fight:[/b] The Mantaean Empire were once allies with Oxenol, but Deus soon betrayed the kingdom, by killing the king, kidnapping the queen, and expanding his empire by claiming Oxenol as his own. Now, Cairo wants his mother back, his kingdom back, and to avenge his father's death.

[b]A BRIEF(!) History of the character:[/b] Cairo was born into the lap of luxury being the only hier to the throne of Oxenol. Although he was a prince, he had a great passion for the art of combat, he soon learned all of what was required to be a soldier in his father's army, his father was so impressed that he hired people from all over just to teach Cairo many forms of fighting. After seeing his father killied, his mother kidnapped, his kingdom dimolished, and not doing anything about it, he thought now was the time to take stand and make Deus Marich pay!!

History of the character: Raion is the leader of the Shinjiro clan which was made by his ancestors 300 years ago. His father was a leader and his grandfather before. Raion fights for one reason and one reason only... Honor ... Shinjiro Warriors have a life goal, That goal is to win great battles during life. A BRIEF(!) History of the character: Meteo has worked under the Wu Empire after he has learned Bushido and continues his training. The Wu Empire sent Meteo to take care of the Paragon and return it to it's rightful Resting place or at least training. Meteo doesn't take the enemy lightly because of his warrior training and his pride.

Reason for Fighting: Sheer monetary profit, glory, and maybe somewhere down there, smothering in greed, is an inkling of doing what's right.
History: Halthan grew up in the Kindred forest city of Narhiltoan. When he completed his basic worldlore, combat, and stealth training at the age of 130, he set out on his own, common for Kindred youths to do. Several years ago, when he heard of Deus' find of the Paragon, the consequent conquests, and the formation of the Resistance, he began to feel the first pangs of Kindreds' greed. I mean, correct me if I'm wrong, but, should the Resistance storm the imperial palace, there's bound to be a fair amount of loot, am I right?

Hair: Dark blue.
Skin: Average complexion.
Eyes: Green with gold flakes.
Build: Lightweight, agile, fast.
Clothing: He has one of those crazy hats. You know, the huge wide-brim kind? It's dark blue. He wears lightweight, baggy, dark blue clothes. He has various sashes useful for concealing weapons, and a large sack. For loot. Because he's a thief. He also keeps his lower face concealed with a crimson scarf.

All in all: The money-grubbing shifty character with a potential heart of gold. Er- bronze. Copper? Um... lead, at least.[/FONT]

She desperately wanted to train under the "Pouncing Tiger" style, but was forbade from being conventionally taught because this was a disiplin strickly for men. However, this didn't stop her from observing the training sessions and training in secret.
This blatent disregard for authority caused her to develop a rebelious, almost thieving, personality. She left her village at age 17 and has wandered through the country ever since.

Why He Fights: To bring glory to the Lansing tribe, by capturing the Paragon anbd slaying their enamies.

Brief History: Even though Snorri was born into royalty, he would apear little more then a peasent to the "civilized" empires. The reason for this being that the Lansing clan belives all men are born to be warriors and, thus, trained from birth to sloughter their foes. Snorri was no exception. Because that Lansing clan is nomadic, Snorri has ever been forced to ride through the footland hills of the Highlands, and has become very adapt at riding. Now, with the Lansing clan finally commiting to a search for the Paragon, Snorri, as well as a select band of warriors, has been sent to find it. They set out from the highlands on the no doubt perilous quest for the imfamous sword with nothing but their skills, thier weapons, and the wish of luck from Snorri's uncle, Het Lansing, Lord of the Lansing Clan.

Namia grew up with her mother and two sisters. Like all Murhyrr kits, she played with other kits like kittens do, learning how to hunt and attack from their playing.

Soon, Namia discovered she had a knack for combat and was trained by the Murhyrr elder herself. She became quite a warrior and took a liking to spear combat. Although most other races think that Murhyrr are useless without their weapons, Namia trained herself to be able to defend herself enough to escape. She honed her skills on flexibility and jumping, as the Murhyrr had already had these as their natural skills.

Namia joined the Resistance because she felt herself worthy to be recruited and all she wants is a good fight!

What side He is on: Mantean Empire
Why he fights: Luca is is a knight full of Bloodlust so he fights to kill. He is incredibly powerful so he uses this to his advantage.
Weapon: A Bastard sword that he received from his father. Ot holds a powerful enchantment of flame which he uses along with powerful attacks.
Weapon Style: He uses the flames of his blade to his advantage although he will easily win without using the fires.

Biography: Not much is known about his early years until he came to the Mantean kingdom as a fully-fledged knight so the first thing he did was challenge the current General to a duel to the death with the leadership of the forces as the stakes. He defeated the general with ease and took control of the armies.

Only afterwards he revealed his source of power to the emperor and It was the Beast Rune. A True Rune representing animalistic rage and passion; the rune was officially said to have been given to the Blight family by the Archmage of his homeland. However, the fact is that the Beast Rune refused to be contained within the land and took residence in Luca according to its own will.
The Archmage hid this fact by claiming that it was a gift, and used it as a political tool. Since then, the Beast Rune laid dormant within Blight until He took interest in its power. After the Beast Rune was realized as a weapon of war, huge quantities of blood was sacrificed to it, awakening various "relatives of the Beast Rune" in the form of golden wolves. He has been made the leader of all assualts against the Resistance so that he can earn the blood to increase the powerof his summons.

A BRIEF(!) History of the character: William was once a very well trusted of the Imperial Guard, before the atrocities began. The midnight raids of the unprotected villages, the torture of those who may or may not have spoken against Deus, the plliaging of neighboring lands for profit. He was once a part of all of that, and now wishes to at least partially atone for the sins of his past.

(I know, I know...really cheesey but it's better than nothing. That and I'm outta ideas at this moment...)

Build- Slightly muscluar, more so in the arms and shoulders.
Skin- Light
Hair- Blonde and pulled in a long ponytail.

Race: Human

Class: Elementalist of Darkness

Class Description: Elementalists are able to access and control the elemental forces. An Elementalist can use one specific elemental force only. The most common ones are Fire, Earth, Wind, and Water, tough others, such as Darkness, are around. Unlike mages, Elementalists tend to have some skill with weapons, simply because their powers aren't as universal as a mages. AWater Elementalist, for example, is at a disadvantage when not neat the water, while a Darkness Elementalist is weakened by light.

Weapon of Choice: Standard Elementalist staff design. Like all Elementalist staves, Vaxla's has symbols of her element carved all over it. An Elementalist's staff is used as a focal point for the application of his or her powers, but does not increase their power in any way. Most Elementalists are able to use their staves as weapons, and Vaxla is one of them. She aquired a second staff for the sole purpose of weapon combat, and she is extremly skilled.

Weapon Style: Vaxla trained herelf. She built her own style from the ground up. Because her style is hers alone, nobody has ever been able to predict what she'll do.

What side she's on: None, but fights against Deus Marich.

Why she fights: Because she wants to kill Deus Marich.

A BRIEF(!) History of the character: Vaxla knew herself as an elementalist at the early age of 7. Her parents were friends with another elementalist of Darkness. His name was Escuro, and he was a master. He agreed to train Vaxla in the use of her powers.

When Vaxla was given her staff at the age of 15, Escuro offered to train her in weapon combat, although he wasn't as skilled in that area. Vaxla refused, deciding to develop her weapon skills on her own.

A few weeks after her twenty-first birthday, her mother was kiled during an attack by the Mantaean Empire. Escuro was also killed durring the attack, but what really pissed Vaxla off was how they died. Her father turned out to be a secret supporter of Marich. Escuro died protecting vaxla's mother from him. He got Vaxla's mother after he killed Escuro. Vaxla promptly killed him. After that, it became her goal to kill the man who was ultimatly responsibe: Deus Marich.

Appearance: Easily the most beutiful woman you've ever seen. She's also 100% natural. No part of her body has been altered in any way. Her looks are all-natural. She's very strong, but in a way that doesn't mar her beauty.

Personality: if you flirt with Vaxla, you're more likly to lose an arm than you are to get anywhere with her. She's extremly anti-social. she'll work with others, but only if she must, and she won't socialize. If it's not important, she stays out of the conversation. Vaxla's also very smart, and very quick-thinking. She's also very determined; if she starts something, she's going to finish it.

All in all: Vaxla is probably Deus Marich's worst enemy.

BIO:

Jake loves heavy metal. He loves it with a passion. His life is pretty much devoted to his band Cantus Corpus (that means "Voice of the Dead" in Latin. I'm so creative!). He plays lead guitar, and loves preforming more than anything else. Then disaster struck: Deus restricted concert halls to one day a month due to "noise pollution"! That's so non-metal. He and his bandmates contemplated joining the resistance, but they unanimously decided that would take too much time out of band practice. That would just not do.

He secretly but he had a machine gun installed in his guitar out of apprehension about the Resistance vs. the Empire. A guy needs protection, no?

His ability to converse with Heironeous he given him a few spells that Heironeous him self has endowed these powers upon him

Spell of protection: a yellowish bubble appears around him for about two minuets. It stops all damage from hurting him. After effects wear off he is unable to use magic for a while.

Holy Bolt: a white blast of energy erupts from staff and instantly kills any weaker demon. Also effects none demons like a slandered blast of energy

Bless: The might of Heironeous fortifies a selected object with holy magic for short period of time.

Cure: Heals himself and/or others of all but fatal wounds

Weapon Style: Solar rune script (writing of the gods)


What side they're on: Resistance

Why they fight: he was sent to kill the main High Priests of Hector. He determined the best way to do so was to join the Resistance. When he returns he will become the High priest for Heironeous.

A BRIEF(!) History of the character:Born to a family of a high priest of the god Heironeous. The god of law and all that is good. Since he was a baby he has been trained to flow the will of Heironeous and fight for him. His life goal is to become the high priest. He uses to serve human prince that ruled over a far way land. Through this he learned many things. Until one day the prince turned to the god of darkness Hector for power. Sabin left unable to serve his owns god archenemies. On his return his parents did not think him ready to become the new High Priest of the church. Knowing the followers of Hector were greatly increasing, as he was promising power to them, they told Sabin to kill the main leaders of the evil god.To aid him on his journey his mother made him a pair of white wings from her flesh. The wings are also infused with the magic of all gods, they are as hard as diamonds , very flexible and can disappear from his back at his will. He agreed and found that some of the Resistances main enemies were those he promised to kill. So he joined the resistance. He knows that when he returns he will become the next leader of his church.

Why they Fight: he is seeking Glory, and for his Nation.
Brief History: Densi is a great warrior of his nation, he was one of the honor guards of there chief befor he became a Glory Seeker, one of few. Glory Seekers are much like hired adventurers, just much more loyal. They take up the most deadly of missions that needs doing. In return they become heros of there people, one who can rally the support of the nation behind the chief. So its one big complex circle. Densi has been on many missions, and is very famous for his heroic feats. Due to his increased strenght on top of his people already above average strength, he can weild both axe and hammer at the same time using a slower but effective Edrick Dunes Ebrium style. This causes massive damage but drains his energy quicker.

Build: Very Strong, but not bulging muscle. because of his training his muscles are very tight, not massive. Also his people are above average strength.

By age 14, she had trained herself to use the long spear, however mostly she avoids unnesscessary battles.

At the age of 14 he discovered his love for the scimitar as well as some strange inate magical talents that he slowly seems to learn as he experiments in battle. He has lived his whole life in the wastelands of Sanatos finding food from wherever, and whatever he could. He's never had anyone love him, and since the death of his parents, he distances himself from any allies he had ever known.
