Today, Gabriel was not looking forward to the venture 'down below'. Of course, it was never a pleasure, but today he realised would be particularly uncomfortable. He checked he had the necessary scroll once again and sighed, deliberating for the umpteenth time to just beg God to make Michael do this. It was unethical! It was immoral! It was a waste of his time!

Of course, though, the angel wouldn't go back on his word and an order from his Boss was an order he must carry out. So, as he descended the long stairway down to the mortal realm, Gabriel practiced just exactly how he was going to explain this.

Lucifer, meanwhile, was already aware of the visitor that would soon be arriving and lounged lazily with Belial, chuckling to himself at the thought of what God was up to. The look on Gabriel's face would be priceless, no doubt, and that alone would make Lucifer's day.

It wasn't long before Gabriel was escorted in, two lower demons flanking the nervous angel as he gripped the golden scroll tightly to his chest.

"Master." the one demon said, his voice like venom in Gabriel's ears. The angel shivered.

"I know, I know. You may leave him," Lucifer waved his hand and the two demons left, Belial standing up to keep guard at the large door they had just come through.

Lucifer then turned his attention to Gabriel and smirked, "Gabe! Please, take a seat!"

The fallen angel swept his arms wide, gesturing to the chair opposite him. Gabriel's top lip curled and he shook his head, golden locks falling elegantly about his face, "I'd rather not. I just need to deliver this. He...He wants to have a bet."

"Another one!" Lucifer laughed, loud and arrogant. "I thought we were going to stop at Job..."

Gabriel sighed deeply at the memory and let his scroll unravel, clearing his throat, "The Father wishes to play a game. A game where the heavenly powers shall be tested. He will bestow His powers upon three human youths with no rules binding them. You, as the Liar and Deceiver, will be allowed to try and steer them off the path of righteousness. God wishes to see if His powers will be used by His people for good, or if you will be able to manipulate them into evil," Gabriel stopped, shuddering at the thought, hoping that Lucifer would just laugh this off and tell him to go away. Unfortunately, Lucifer smiled. A bad sign.

"My...I do like the sound of that. But may I propose a slight change?"

"I don't thi--" Gabriel started; his voice full of worry, but Lucifer cut him off.

"How about my old friend chooses three youths that will take his place and I choose three that will take mine? That way, I don't have to ruin my reputation by deceiving innocent children."

"But you?ll just turn three innocent children into monsters with your destructive powers.?

"Yes."

"You disgust me, Lucifer."

Gabriel turned to leave, already feeling a headache coming on as he twisted the scroll in his elegant hands. God knew everything, so he must have known Lucifer was going to propose a change to the bet. If He weren?t going to agree to it, He wouldn't have sent Gabriel down here in the first place.

Behind him, Gabriel could hear Lucifer laughing, and despite his growing need to shut him up, he knew it wasn't the most angelic thing to do. So he left, grumbling all the way.

So, I was watching Bruce Almighty a couple of days ago... :p

Yeah, I thought this would be fun. If I was a little unclear, the basic premise is this:
God and Lucifer (not Satan, I don't like that name) are having another little bet, this one a bit more testing than the one they had a couple thousand years ago. Basically, they want to see how humans would manage without their help and how the followers of tomorrow will react to having these amazing powers granted to them. God is just wanting to have a little bit of fun and prove to Lucifer that good children with his powers won't bend to their own will while Lucifer wants to recruit more followers as well as show God that human needs are more powerful than faith in this day and age.

Now, I will need three of you on each side. You don't have to believe in God to have his powers, or visa versa. But to have God's powers, it's obvious your character is going to be nicer than the ones who get Lucifer?s powers. For example: Someone who gets God?s powers may be a good student, always do their homework, and never tease anyone. Someone who gets Lucifer's powers may be a loner, disliked by people, and listen to death metal. Not necessarily a bad person, just someone easy to manipulate.

As for a plot, there is actually one, don't fear. Even though God and Lucifer think that this will be a silly little game, the demons and angels have other ideas. They're out to set tests for the youths and will, most likely, start an apocalyptic war.

If that was all very confusing I'm extremely sorry, I know what's going to happen, it just may not have come out as well as I would have liked >_>

If all the places for the teenagers are filled, than angels and demons will be loved. <3

One more thing before the sign ups! The ones who God chooses are visited by Gabriel and those who Lucifer chooses are visited by Belial.

Name: Sara Westerly
Age:16
Alignment: Lucifer
Appearance: Sara has dark brown hair and bright green eyes. She is 5'5" and has a skinny build. Her features are sharp and angular. Sara always wears a mix of black, blue, and red. She has several piercings: four places on the left ear, three on her right, one on her lower lip, and one in her belly button. A tattoo of bloody black wings is on her back. She always wears her red headphones and drowns out her troubles listening to J-Rock.
Personality: Because she was always shy as a child, she never made any real friends. To most people's surprise, she is an avid reader. Now that she is older, people do not talk to her because most of them just think she is a freak. Sara rarely does any real vandalism, but people have decided she is a bad person, so they automatically blame her when something is wrong. Currently she is in foster care. Her father drank all the time and often beat Sara. Her mother died when she was three. This made her bitter. She didn't want to hate the world, but the world wanted to hate her. All she wants is to defend herself.
Reaction to Visit: It was 3:45 on a Wednesday when Belial came to visit. The demon appeared beside her while she sat in the park near her current foster family's residence. Normally, cigarette smoking demons with dark auras don't apparate right beside you, but none of the other people in the park took notice of Lucifer's messenger. If Sara had not thought she was hallucinating, she probably would have had a heart attack. Oh well! she thought. I finally went off the deep end.
"I assure you you are quite sane," Belial said. "How would you like it if told you no one could ever hurt you again?"
"That would be nice," she replied,"if the men in the white coats don't haul me away for talking to myself."
Belial laughed and stood in front of her. "You would like to be noticed, correct? You are not the type to refuse to attention. Would you like people to notice you exist?" Belial touched Sara's forehead. She felt an immense and strange feeling flow through her.
"Lord Lucifer has given you something and expects to be repaid. There will be two more like you. Do not disappoint him." After saying that, Belial vanished.
Sara took a few days to understand what had happened. She discovered she held impressive powers, and she liked the feeling. It started slowly, lighting a candle by looking at it, making one of the peopl who bullied her twist an ankle, but her thoughts soon turned to the man who had tormented her since the day her mother died.
She made plans to leave to search for the other people with these powers. After that, she would pay a visit to her father....

*edited because Belial is definitely a guy with a chosen appearance*

Name: Marquis James Lucian
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Alignment: Lucifer
Appearance: See attachment, he is about 6'2" with a lean muscular build putting him at about 172 lbs. His normal outfit consists of a dark pair of jeans, a black tank top with a black shirt over that. Most of the time you will find him with a sheepskin bomber, or a classic wool button up jacket (think like 40's Navy). He also wears a silver pendant with a cross, and an ank, though he isn't religous.
Personality: Marquis comes across being indifferent, and anti-social which is pretty much the case. Most people to him are just a waste of time, and he would love for them to try to prove other wise. Granted he keeps to himself mostly, giving most that bother him a sharp, witty tounge lashing. The all others he just shows no emotion to, and relies whatever. Although, on the inside he is rather emotional, about the only emotion you will see on his face is a twisted smirk at someones misfortune. Needles to say, he doesn't stand out in a crowd and tends to just sit in the shadows til bothered.
Reaction to Visit:
Marquis walked swiftly weaving his way in and out of the busy sidewalk. No one really took heed to anyone it was just a jungle of people all trying to get somewhere. It was kind of pathetic, that in reality, someone could fall and most people would just keep walking. Then again Marquis wasn't the type to stop and help either, and really didn't care otherwise. He didn't owe these people anything, not a moment of his time, or a doller, or even the satisfaction that they mattered to him.

He continued to walk when suddenly all the sound stopped. Quickly Marquis found he was the only one moving, every one was frozen, some in midstep. He continued to walk around looking rather puzzled when he stumbled into the street and he heard a smooth voice behind him. "Marquis"

"What the hell" Marquis thought spinning around to face a dark haired man, dressed in a clean cut suit.

"Just the person I was hoping to find" The man continued, walking forward so that they were face to face.

"Whe the hell are you, and what do you want with me?" Marquis spat coldly, glaring at the man.

"Would you believe me if I said your father, hahahaha, no of coarse you wouldn't, would you believe he was your father" The man said with a dastardly smile while he pointed to the ground.

"What the hell, go waste someones time who gives a damn" The youth said trying to turn, but found he was stuck.

"Tsk tsk, indifferent to the end, hahaha what am I saying, all the better, you do actually look like you could be one of his though, you sure you don't have any fallen angel or demon in you? Oh yes never mind to the point, he requires your services" The man said with a growing light in his eye.

"Who the hell is he, and tell "HIM" to find someone that cares" Marquis continued to shoot.

"He is the boss man, the thunder down under, the opposition, the shadow, the fire, he is Lucifer, and he would like to enlist your services in a most benificial game, he is going to grant you his powers, and all you have to do is use them you see, alittle chaos here and there, maybe some lust and seduction, followed by some disaster with a light dish of wrath, oh yes, and there will be others like you"

"What the hell is wrong with you, and what makes you think I believe in the devil anyways?" Marquis asked, alittle interested in the proposition.

"Well whether you believe in him or not is irrelivant, it doesn't change the fact that he is there, and you are here, and you have the choice do I accept he is real, or not, either way he believes in you, and his powers are yours all the same" The man said pacing up and down the street.

"Fine whatever, I'll play, or whatever this is" Marquis said as soon as he finished found himself able to move.

"Fantastic, and by the way, we will probably meet again, so to answer your first question I am the demon Belial, my work is done though, until the next time" The emon said disappearing in a poof of smoke, as time instantly restarted and cars were wizzing by Marquis.

"What the hell" Marquis muttered to himself as he ran back to the sidewalk.

Name: Mark Goate
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Alignment: God

Appearance: Click

Personality: Normally he?s quite quiet around people he doesn?t know, however he does like to have a laugh with his friends and family. He?s a somewhat laid back boy with a nice view on life in general, he doesn?t have many worries and he?s always willing to help. He?s nice to people, a lot, it?s even easy to tell when he?s joking or being sarcastic. For most of his school days Mark would end up either being the friend who helped sort things out, or the scapegoat in the middle of things (which later led to his nickname of goat, his last name also being goate). He?s good at talking to people; good at sorting their problems out, however when and if he did get problems he could never sort them out himself. To put it simply, Mark was a somewhat push over, he would do things for people and be very protective of his friends, sorting their problems out, doing their homework, and never really having time for himself.

Being a Christian, Mark doesn?t think of life as a waste of time. He isn?t arrogant about God, in fact he, on many occasions, is one of the funniest people when it comes to jokes about God. He believes in living life to the fullest and knows that there?s something waiting for him afterwards, he?s even been study theology in his high school years (and he was always fascinated about his name, Mark from the good part of the bible, and goat from the evil side of things, if you liked). Mark?s always willing to learn new things, he?s pretty brave, in fact, and isn?t one to judge. Mark will normally end up doing what people say, but he isn?t stupid, and he won?t believe someone if they told him without any evidence, he?s not gullible.

Reaction to Visit: It was night. The sky was dark and illuminated with only the faintest stars, though some didn?t appear to be there because of the light pollution from down below. Mark enjoyed watching the stars; he figured heaven was up there somewhere and, ultimately, God. He was quite far away from any buildings; it took awhile to walk up from where he lived. The hillside he was on was his favourite place in the world, it was quiet, it was deserted, and it was the perfect cinema seat in a show of lights. He loved it. If Mark didn?t have his eyes set on being a theologian and possibly teaching theology then he would have been a star gazer all his life. Not an astronomer, he didn?t want to try and figure everything out about the heavens, instead he preferred to stare in wonder and question things about them all his life.

He sighed and rubbed the back of his neck. It was getting pretty late, maybe he should go. I didn?t take him a moment to decide that. He got up, stretched, and ran his hand through his blond hair with a smile. Looking up for a moment with a grin on his face, he shrugged and made his way back down the hillside with his coat draped over his shoulder. The leaves crunched under his feet and he kicked them aside. He was sort of having fun for a moment, then he stood in something. It wasn?t really water, it was a little thicker, but it wasn?t mud, either. He looked down and lifted his shoe up. The darkness didn?t allow him to see much but he noticed it was a trail, and he followed it to what could only be described and some sort of animal, dead, under a tree. So badly beaten and injured he didn?t know what it was.

?Jesus?? he suddenly looked up to the stars as a sign of apology and cautiously walked towards the animal. He stopped halfway and sighed.

?Don?t worry, it may look painful but I guarantee the good Lord will not have let it die in pain.? A soft voice said from behind. Mark jumped and turned around, meeting the gaze of a tall, blond haired man, in a thick long coat and with a grin on his face. There was no need for the grin.

?The good Lord isn?t so good sometimes. He never answered my preys, but who am I to judge, eh?? Mark said, being quite weary of the man but not wanting to anger him with no reply in case he was dangerous.

?Well, he?s timeless, he might be getting around to answering your prayers, and it might take him long and by the time he does, you?re dead.? The man replied.

?He invented us, he should know that we?re impatient. Who are you, anyway?? asked Mark. The man just smiled.

?Gabriel.?

?Oh, like the Angel Gabriel.? Mark said, since they had been on the subject of God a few moments ago.

?Like?? a bigger grin crossed the man?s face, and he began to remove his coat. Mark was frowning for a while at this, and then his jaw dropped. If it wasn?t attached to his face it would have been hanging on the floor, and there would be no need to pick it up, because he didn?t know what to say. Before him a stranger had just revealed the wings of an angel.

Mark looked up, then back down, and bit his lip. ??Are those? real?? he stuttered. There was nothing else he could think to say. He walked forward with a hand outstretched to touch them, but Gabriel backed away.

?Would you rather have my wings or His power?? asked Gabriel. Mark didn?t know who he meant for a moment, then he realised.

?I?m not sure, I don?t think I?d want to responsibility of answering people?s prayers.? He laughed.

?He isn?t asking you to do all that, he just asking that you be righteous, that you keep on the path of good and don?t stray. You?re a believer; you don?t have to be the Lord to know that. And even you have your doubts, everyone does. Why does God help those who don?t need help, and not those who really do? Why isn?t he here with us, doing our work? Well, you can answer those questions yourself, but wouldn?t you rather have a demonstration? Would you prefer to be shown how being able to cure the world prevents you from actually doing it??

Mark?s first impression was ?crazy?; then again, if this really were a messenger of God, then Mark would be a fool to refuse. He looked down at the ground, and then back up to the angel. He thought for a moment. ?I don?t think I believe you?? he felt somewhat guilty for that, if he denied one of God?s angels it seemed he was denying God if it were true. But he would rather be honest than lie.

?How about a demonstration?? the angel held out of his hand. ?Here, let me show you what I mean?? Mark looked suspicious for a moment, but he decided there was no need for it and took his hand. Gabriel smiled and let go of it and soon as it had touched.

?There you go, the power of God.?

?Pardon me?? asked Mark. He now knew the man was crazy and those wings were fake. Nothing happened. ?Look, I don - ?

?People receive things differently? someone who had just been given what you have now would probably be on their knees shivering from the new power they have, and others, like yourself, will feel no difference, but that makes you neither stronger nor weaker. Make good use of the powers you have, because if you want to be a theologian then the only way to know God is to be God.?

Mark stared down at his hands. He felt different, but he couldn?t put his finger on it. He breathed in heavily, and wondered. Was there anyone else who was granted this, or was he the only one to be given this burden and power? He looked up and began to ask, but he noticed that the angel was gone.

Name: Blake Garrot
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Alignment: God
Appearance: Blake?s girlfriend overlooked him as he pulled her close. His beautiful, unworldly golden eyes, though never seen by any beside her for the transition glasses he wore, always seemed to be locked on her, as if nothing else in the world existed, or mattered. He looked down at her, his blue-gray streaks prominent in black hair. She had never thought him as tall as he really was, 6?0??, but taller in fact, her guardian angel of sorts, always watching her from above. She melted in his arms, strong enough to hold her close, but not crush her, and gentle enough that she could fall asleep in them.

Personality: Blake smiled slyly as he approached his girlfriend?s locker. Becca hadn?t seen him yet, and he intended on taking her by surprise. He ran up behind her and wrapped his arms around her quickly. She got startled, giving him enough time to cover her eyes. She smiled and kisses his hands. Blake spoke teasingly.

?Guess who. I?m sure you never will.? Becca pretended to be confused, naming off a list of people she knew. Blake laughed at their game, and finally she said his name. He spun her around and kissed her, when a fist collided with his shoulder. He sighed and looked to the attacker, his buddy Mark.

?Why thank you Mark. I know most people just love to be punched in the shoulder while kissing. It?s all the rave in Ireland, or so I hear.? Mark grinned and the two hugged.

?I merely wanted to give you a congratulation punch on your test grade in Math, ya? overachiever.? Blake sighed then slipped his arm around Becca?s waist.

?It?s not my fault that school happened to be important to me, that I study, and that I don?t spend my afternoons playing videogames.? Blake jabbed at Mark with his free hand and the three of them walked off school grounds, arguing playfully about Becca and Blake?s A in Math Analysis and Mark?s C in Geometry.

Reaction to Visit: Blake kissed Becca at the doorstep of her house and whispered ?Good-Night? softly into her ear. He turned and walked away as she entered the house and closed the door behind her, blowing him a kiss as she did so. He strolled down the street, his hand buried deep in his pockets, the water vapor in his breath apparent in the cool night air. His beanie kept his head warm, but that was about all that was warm. His bangs fell over his eyes, and out of the back of the hat, and was flowing fiercely in the wind.

?Interesting weather?it?s usually not this windy.? He merely shrugged and continued walking home, but no with caution; he got the odd feeling someone was watching him. He sped up slightly, but felt ridiculous doing so, so he returned to his casual demeanor. He walked two more blocks before encountering another soul. A young boy was playing with his toy race cars, which Blake would have found cute had the child not been in the middle of the street. Gabriel went to retrieve the child so her wouldn?t get hurt when a sound caught his attention. He listened at first with confusion, then fear, then urgency.

He ran frantically for the child, against the deafening roar of the car speeding towards them. Blake reached the child in time but could not get his from the road. He closed his eyes tight as he prepared for the collision. Damn it!!! Blake waited. And waited. His brow furrowed in confusion and he looked towards the car, thinking they had possibly stopped. The car was still, so he assumed they had miraculously stopped in time. He turned to the child and was about to speak to him when he noticed the child, too, was frozen. A chill went up his spine at the sound of a voice from the sidewalk, but it also filled his heart with radiance.

?You?d have sacrificed your life for the boy?? Blake stood up and began to walk towards the voice, but stopped and grabbed the child first. He placed him onto the sidewalk and then began to search from the bearer of the voice. He appeared suddenly, in a torrent of wind. His wings spanned to their fullest capacity, which would have terrified any person. But not Blake. He kept his composure, answering the Angel?s question.

?Obviously. The child was in trouble?Who would have condemned the child to death?? The Angel smiled at this answer and outstretched his hand.

?My name?s Gabriel. It?s an honor to meet a human with your level of compassion and care; something lacking in the modern world. I come on behalf of God, with a proposition for you. What would you say to wielding all of the Creator?s powers?? Blake was paralyzed with shock, torn between laughter and fainting. God?s powers? An honor, without a doubt, but why him? Blake stared into Gabriel?s eyes.

?What?s the catch? I don?t mean to impugn the Almighty Creator, but? He?s just going to give me his powers? Is there something I?ll have to do with them?? Gabriel smiled at the boy?s caution.

?A level headed youth, eh? Your caution brings no offense. There is a ?catch? as you put it. You must merely stay on the path of righteousness. Nothing more.? Blake?s eyes flittered to Gabriel?s hand and back to Gabriel?s eyes. He knew he could trust him, there was no deceit in his words. He shook Gabriel?s hand, and immediately felt empowered, felt this unbelievable energy surge through him. He soaked it in, allowed it to flow through every atom of his body. Their hands separated, and Gabriel smiled.

?In case that feeling of awesome power is not enough to prove your might?? Gabriel pushed Blake back into the street. Time sped up again, and the car started at it?s same speed, reached Blake, and froze. But Blake realized that time had not really frozen, he had unknowingly accelerated himself. He knew it would not last long, but before he could move, two voices pierced through his brain. Destroy the car! Use your immeasurable might to crush it like an ant! The other spoke calmly, softly. Stop the car. Stop it right where it is. What?s more powerful? The ability to prevent disaster, or create it? Both voices were gone as suddenly as they came, and Blake was forced to act. His hand came down on the hood of the car, and a sonic wave passed over it. It stopped dead in it?s tracks, in perfect condition, the people fine. Blake looked at his hands in awe.

?Amazing??

Name: Neill Gratzner
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Alignment: God
Appearance: Neill.

Personality: Neill is your stereotypical nerd, that nice guy from class who was always too nervous to ask out any girls he liked and the ended up simply blurting it out at the most embarrassing time. A young man of surprisingly strong faith, Neill believes that while it is his duty to try and help people stay the path God has laid out for them, in the end when he faces his judgement he can only answer for his own sins. Having been bullied when he was younger, Neill is a tad too quiet for his own good, most people feel he needs to lighten up a bit and have some fun.

After school Neill can be found in his local library, either doing his own homework, or if he's finished helping someone else with theirs, the good Samaritan always ready to lend a hand where needed. Perhaps Neill?s biggest flaw is that he may be a little too trusting, he always believes the best in people and a fair bit of the time they don?t live up to the trust he put in them. Neill doesn't have a huge amount of friends; in fact aside from those whom he knows via the Internet, Neill probably only has one close friend in school. In the end, he's is just one of those good guys who only comes around once in a while, who?ll grow into a gentle, kind-hearted man who lives science fiction and strives to make the world a better place one good deed at a time.

Reaction to Visit: ?I don?t understand?? Neill shook his head slowly as Gabriel explained the proposition to him, although it wasn?t really a proposition, God was giving Neill his powers and that was all there really was to it, he could choose not to exercise those powers but in the end he would still have them. Besides deep down Neill knew that he wouldn?t be able to not use his powers, he saw so much suffering in the world and just wanted to be able to help those who needed it. Gabriel just looked at him without any visible emotion, although Neill hoped that he had some sympathy for his predicament, it wasn?t as if Gabriel was being asked to assume God?s role on Earth for a while.

?You?re not.? Gabriel continued to stare. ?What you?re being asked to do is prove that Man has been worth all the trouble He went to in creating and guiding you. Personally I don?t know if that?s true, I need only look at the fact that Lucifer can find three people to give his powers to who will employ them with glee, and here is one of His choices who is debating the morality of whether or not he should use those powers?? The angel broke the smallest of smiles ?And that gives me some hope that you may have learned something.? Again the archangel?s face belied any emotion underneath. ?However, debating whether or not it is right to use the powers you are being given is secondary to ensuring that those powers are put to good use, I don?t doubt you will make Him proud Neill.? Gabriel looked around the boy?s Spartan bedroom, noting the proclivity the boy had towards science fiction, internally he sighed, ?May the Force be with you young one, you?ll certainly need it.? With that thought Gabriel simply vanished from Neill?s room and left the young man to contemplate his fate.

[Edit] Finished, God in Heaven [no pun intended] I hope I can overcome this creative block that?s really starting to annoy me.

Appearance: Esther
Personality: Esther has never been a bad person, though she couldn?t be described as an angel by any means. She is well liked and has a large circle of friends but at the same time she commands respect from everyone. She is responsible and always the leader when she and her friends go out as a group and if something needs to be said, Esther will come out and say it. Sometimes her friends get annoyed with her because she doesn?t sugar coat everything, but the young woman can?t see the point in dodging the truth. She can be harsh and her humour is typically dry, coming mostly form the fact that her father is British. If someone manages to tick her off, Esther won?t snap but is very good at coming back with a clever remark. She?s never been in a fight, but would never back down if someone threatened her.

Reaction to Visit: Esther had always, even since she was a little girl, had an enquiring and open mind. That?s why, when a tall, handsome man clad from head to foot in black suddenly appeared at the foot of her bed her only reaction was a startled squeak. She stared, her mouth slightly open and her eyes wide, as the man or?whatever her was, tensed ad shrugged his shoulders.

?Esther Archer, yeah?? he asked, a smirk playing across his lips.

Esther nodded, closing the book she had been reading. ?And you are???

?Belial,? he paused, opening his mouth as if to continue, but Esther cut him off.

?The Prince of Lies and Seduction? Subordinate to the Devil? That explains the flashy entrance, I suppose, but??

It was clear to Belial that he wasn?t dealing with a normal teenager from that moment on. He blinked a couple of times before walking towards Esther, his face showing no signs of age whatsoever as he drew closer to her bedside lamp. He smiled a little playfully and sat on the side of her bed, tapping his knee unconsciously.

?Okay, so I guess I can understand why the boss chose you now??

Esther was still a little shocked, but intrigued at the same time, so she looked up to the demon with a look of interest. ?You mean Satan??

?He prefers Lucifer.?

??Oh. Right, then. So what does he want with me? It?s not like I??

?Do you ever stop??

Esther shut her mouth quickly and cast her eyes down while Belial chuckled darkly. ?As I was saying. Lucifer is having a little bet with the man upstairs and as part of the deal, each side has to choose three teenagers to inherit their powers?you with me??

Esther nodded, but looked a little puzzled. Belial went on regardless.

?So, basically, you now have Lucifer?s powers. Do with them what you wish but?you know, try and keep the old guy in mind, eh? He wouldn?t want to see his skills go to waste.?

Belial winked knowingly and lifted his hand, pointing his elegant hands towards a window. Esther followed his hand with her eyes and in a matter of seconds, heard a thump on her window. She gasped and stood up, opening the curtains to reveal a pigeon on her windowsill, it?s head caved in on one side.

?Oh, God?? she murmured, bringing a hand to her mouth.

Belial laughed, louder this time, and put a hand on her shoulder, ?No, just me.? He gave her one last smile before disappearing again, leaving Esther staring at her hands.

NB: I'm not going to accept any more sign ups for God's side, because I know the three who've already applied are amazing writers. Still spaces open for Lucifer as I know a couple of other people who'll want to join up and now you can start applying as angels/demons. I would like the places of Belial and Gabriel filled as they are the most important.

Name: Gabriel
Age: He has been around since the dawn of time, but he appears to be aged around his early twenties
Gender: Appears male
Alignment: God
Appearance: Gabriel usually sans wings. Also, give him a nice shock of blonde hair.
Personality: Gabriel, being the Left Hand of God, is supposed to be a kind, caring soul, loving to all men, courteous and polite. And for the most part he is. There is the odd thing that has changed, though. Instead of wearing the classic white robes all angels are typically seen in, he has taken to wearing all-black on his occasional jaunts down to the surface. He has a dry sense of humour, which is rather unusual for an angel, especially one so high up, and has been known to use sarcasm, cynicism and dry wit to get a laugh.

Lately, he has been growing a little tired of God's endless games, and he only entered into this one with a degree of reluctance. He believes that he is the one to test these teenagers, the ones who hold the weight of the world on their shoulders, almost literally. And he doesn't plan on being fair...

However, in all fairness to him, he has retained the angelic qualities of being disgusted by even the slightest presence of demons, and resents having to go into Hell to talk to Lucifer. But he knows that, to stay in eternal paradise, he needs to keep vaguely angelic, so he tries his best not to be corrupted by his time on Earth.

Reaction to Concept: They've both gone completely barmy this time, thought Gabriel, I don't really know what to make of this. I mean, I know He is supposed to be all-knowing, wise, thoughtful and all of that, but I'm not entirely sure what He's trying to prove on this one. Lucifer's no better, but I didn't expect too much from him as it is.

Perhaps I should try and bring this back down to earth, so to speak. I need to prove to Him upstairs that maybe He shouldn't place all his faith in man. They are a wholly fallible race, after all. A few little surprises along the way can't hurt...

Edited it for you, Jamie

Right, I can't believe I didn't even think of explaining the angel/demon sign ups. *sighs* Silly me.

The sign up is basically the same, but instead of 'Reaction to Visit' you should write something along the lines of 'Reaction to Concept'. So, explain how your character feels about the whole idea of the game and possibly what they plan to do as it progresses.

Sorry about that =/ My bad.

Belial is reserved for ULX, just to let everyone know.

Edit: Garg, just noticed something. Blayze, while I do like your Gabriel, he doesn't fit with the Gabriel I described in the first post. The basics are fine, but Gabriel is supposed to have blonde hair, like the typical angel. Also, I'm not sure about the smoking. He's supposed to have a soft center rather than being a few steps away from falling from heaven. Sorry about that. =/ (Sexeh picture of Alan Rickman though, mmm~)

With permission from Zeke, I'll be playing Azrael.

Name: Azrael (commonly known as the Angel of Death)

Age: Appears to be in his thirties.

Gender: Male

Alignment: God

Appearance: Azrael no longer carries a scythe or wears a robe, but he still has the same shaggy grey hair and grey eyes to match his blackened wings.

Personality: As a direct messenger of God, Azrael is generally nice. However, because of his grey hair and blackened wings, humans often mistake him for a demon (which he is not). He is the Angel of Death, yes, but if he didn't do his job than the world may not even exist. But Azrael does not give the cold shoulder to anyone. He doesn't talk much either, but when he does, they are words of wisdom.

Reaction to Concept: When Azrael first heard about the 'bet' from God, his reaction was fierce. He almost slapped Him. How could God be so foolish as to play games with Lucifer?

However he knew that God has plan for everything, so there must be some sort of reason for his decision. Which is why Azrael remained quiet after the Father told him of his choice.

But that is not to say he won't intervene. Azrael has his own plans for the chosen ones, Holy and Unholy. All of that will become apparent much later though, because Azrael certainly doesn't want to screw anything up, and the last thing he would want is God angry with him.

Name: Belial
Age: Ancient
Gender: Male
Alignment: Cap'n Lucy, of course.
Appearance: Belial tries to be a well dressed demon, usually in black slacks and black suit jacket over a white wife-beater. The cigarette is his trademark, as it were.

Personality: For Belial, charisma is chief weapon in his arsenal, and he positively oozes it. A handsome smile, a witty turn of phrase, and jaunty wink, and he can get just about anyone into the palm of his hand. He is a master of the linguistic arts, and an excellent manipulator. Being a demon, he has no qualms about using people to achieve any end he sees fit, and will not hesitate to lie, cheat, or steal to get where he needs to be.

Reaction to Concept: Belial is a cheerful sort, and enjoys a good round of fun every now and again, so he views this little game as just what the world needs to shake it up a bit. And if he gets to party on earth again because of it, well, there's a benefit for him. Especially if its with young, vulnerable, and easily swayed humans - his favorite kind.

Name- Astaroth
Age- One cannot tell
Gender- Masculine
Alignment- The one and only, Loosey-Lucy!
Appearance- Astaroth is one who has a strange sense of fashion, though would be considered normal in the eyes of those who have been condemned.

Personality- More often than not, Astaroth uses his façade of kindness and warm-heartedness to get close to the ?innocent? and throw them off the path of righteousness, sending them towards the path of evil. He is, often, presumed to be an angel of heaven; an act disgusted by those in Heaven yet awed by those in Hell. He sees his lies and deceits as his specialty but the spectacular power he so possesses is his seduction through vanity for Astaroth believes himself to be beautiful and so has an affinity for all things materialistic. Astaroth is filled with vanity, seduction, and manipulation with an enjoyment of torture and terror.

Reaction to Concept- Initially, Astaroth thought it wrong for Lucifer to once again go into a deal with God for he had lost the previous bet with Job. Yet, like everyone else in the place he resides, Astaroth wanted to see what fun this might bring and perhaps even see if he could indulge himself with more materialistic items found on earth and refine them to become his own devices. Maybe even let his enticing words turn these humans towards his way.

Just letting everyone know that I really want to start this soon, but would like another of Lucifer's chosen if at all possible. I'm sorry, silver_blade, but your sign up as it stands isn't up to the standards of everyone else. I don't want to sound harsh, but... *shrugs*

Thanks everyone for the interest~

Edit: Something I should point out--If you so wish, then your characters can know one another. It's cliche, but whatever. All the Digidestined knew each other, so why not these guys?

Name: Lace Geneffe

Age: 18

Gender: Female

Alignment: Lucifer

Appearance: See attachment. Long dark hair, amber eyes, smooth skin, slender figure, and perfect curves.

Personality: Cool, relaxed, and definitely up there when it comes to seductive, Lace is one of those girls that fits the bill for one of the Seven deadly sins. She's a creature who can incite the worst cases of lust among men and women alike with a personality to match. She'll flicker her eyelids at you and laugh as she does it, just to watch you fall, not necessarily for the pleasure she'll be gleaning off of your soul. Of course there are rules she follows, not seducing the illegal or terribly weak minded. It's something that has always appealed to her, going for the difficult to manipulate, and laughing when they are nothing more than pawns in her hands.

Reaction to Visit: Pleasure among many other things, with a surge of excitement for what could happen. Of course Lace wouldn't flaunt her powers, as they're simply a natural extension of who she is. So far she's pleased, as her seductive abilities are merely enhanced and not overhwhelming. Lucifer was a handsome stud when she met him, and he did give her the nicest gift. So, it's within reason that she'd not shirk from using them to the fullest of her abilities.
