Ep 6 is my favorite!!! So many refs and stuff! Burst laughing more times!!!

Some info on Episode 6 ED:

Valentine Kiss (?o?????^?C?? ?L?b?X) by Sayuri Kokusho (?¶?³?ä?è); this must be the Sayuri Konata is talking about during the ED ("Her name isn't Sayuri Kuninama, right?" "What member number was she?"). She was part of a group that was the precursor of the likes of Morning Musume.

(I read Valentine Kiss was used in Prince of Tennis, but I can't confirm that)

And episode 6 itself was great:

-The Initial D parody of course.
-The Hiiragi twins girl talk ^_^.
-Konata's swimsuit (6th grade lol)
-Yui-neesan and Kuroi-sensei's awkward dynamic.
-Kuroi-sensei's ignorance of the marital status of Yui-neesan
-And I can't get enough of Kuroi-sensei's Kansai dialect (Well, I think it is Kansai-dialect).

Good stuff all around.

For the win!

Episode 7:
Marimite
parodies make everything better--right up to the
drill-tails
in Lucky Channel! Aya Hirano did a great job with her ojou-sama voice. Also, I agree 100% with Kona's texting philosophy.

Do they really teach the War(s) of the Roses in Japanese high schools? Wow.

Decided not to do my usual watch-and-post-at-once since I'm low on time here, but episode 7 may have been my favorite thus far. Far as I'm concerned, the show keeps getting better and better.

Reason i liked it more than 6 is cuz 6 was trying to be funny throuhg being extreme, while 7 was just plain funny. Also, this was the least jumpy of the episodes. It focused on 3 name things - cell phones, Konata-chan talking fancy, and the dentist incident with Miyuki-chan.

I loved every joke in this one, but there were some definite highlights.
- Any time Konata-chan talked fancy - just loved it!
- Konata's email being iluvgirlswithglasses. That was the defining moment in Konata-chans character for me, and as far as I'm conerned, it proves everything XD
- When Tsukasa was trying to figure out her phone number. Tsukasa is starting to fight Konata fo place as my favorite, simply because she looks soooo adorable when she concentrates on something or gets lost in her own head.
- Konata's dad trying to call her XD

Although Lucky Channel was by far the funniest thing this show has done yet. The very second it started and I saw Shiraishai in oiogtails and Akira looking away, I burst into laughter and couldn't stop the whole duration. I almost cried laughing.
Also, is it just me, or has the animation climbed a whole new level? The girls always looked fluid, but this episode had them moving constantly and watchin them was... mesmerizing... also, i think I need to read Sgt. Frog XD

The otaku who assemble in Lucky Star have such wry smiles that good taste and common sense pass through them and disappear. Their obsessive bodies and minds are wrapped in fetishistic seifuku. The circles under their eyes from level grinding all night should not be noticible. Their DVD collections must be neatly shelved and alphabetically organized. Walking slowly is preferred here, unless you are lining up to get into Comiket.

:animesmil you ain't seen nothin yet! There are a freaking million of these... there was one video I saw that collected amst all of the images into one, though there's even more that are videos where people remade the OP with other anime charcters. My favorite being the Bebop one, though there are many great ones.

Also, Fasterisk... what exactly are you getting at? :(

Not sure what you're asking, but just in case...

The maidens who assemble in the Virgin Mary's garden have such angelic smiles that today, too, they pass through the tall gate. Their pure bodies and minds are wrapped in dark-colored school uniforms. The pleats on their skirts shouldn't be noticeable. Their white sailor collars should always be tidy. After waiting way too damn long, i finally got around to watching episode 8. It was alright - by no means the best yet. There were some parts that made me smirk or giggle, but a lot that had me kinda bored.

Firstly, it took me a while to get back into it. The beginning wasn't very powerful, once more simply playing around with the group dynamic, but once it got into the whole athletics festival it was kinda fun. Kona's dad was a riot of course, and it had a generally good feel about it.

Probably my favorite joke this episode was when Tsukasa is imagining herself as Kagami's older sister XD also, the part where Tsukasa was trying to play recorder was adorable.

The lunch line gag was kind of weak, mostly in it's absurd longevity to deliver very little funny. Also, I didn't even crack a laugh in this Lucky Channel episode. Like everyone, even Shiraishai, said - they're starting to get repetitive. Anywho, alright, but no ep. 7 >_>

Oh my gosh.

This video is hilarious. Watch it even if you've never heard of Rozen Maiden. I wonder how long it took to make? RM spoilers. None for Lucky Star, if Lucky Star even has spoilers.

Haha, That was funny. I love how they are talking about something thats vaguely interesting while there is some kind of epicness going on in the foreground. That editing look rather professional though. I'd be surprised if it wasn't done by a professional.

Just how do you find these things anyway? lol

10th anniversary DB's overly long episode review! My darlin' Darlin' FREEZE! God, I still haven't goten used to that >_<

XDDDD!!!! I really have to know why Tsukasa is obsessed with balsamic vinegar!

It deserves to be noted that this episode takes the cuteness of their outfits to a whole new level. I've liked how they've made certain outfits reappear to keepa sense of realism, but certain ones like Tsukasa's red and black stripes are welcome additions to the wardrobe.

OH. MY. GOD! The scene with the store clerks is the best. ****ing. scene. EVAR! That's exactly what this show needed to take it bacl to it's full height! Purely amazing! My jaw was hanging open!

"Even TV is starting to look like 2ch" XD we could say the same of 4chan and G4 over here...

Kona's dad = coolest dad on earth. "A scene from my dreams!" Someone buy this man a lolipop! I love how the tears all of a sudden start pouring down his face as well. [strike]Plus I would like to snuggle that red sweatshirt Tsukasa was wearing...[/strike]

Real quick: hair switch = strange, Kona's mom = goddess, Kagami = getting funnier with each episode it seems, Shiraishai cameo = awesome, Kagami-sama = why did they translate it as 'Kagami the great?'

Shiraishai's speech was great, though not laugh-out-loud funny or anything. and .... wait... was Akira just SCRATCHING HER CROTCH?!?!?!?!?!?! WTF?!?!?!

By cheating and letting other people lead me to them, haha. I have the RSS feed for the Anime Nano blog aggregator plugged into Google Reader... although for some bizarre reason I now find myself unable to locate the post that first mentioned the vid. This will bother me for the rest of the day. I need to unwind...

I am drastically behind on Lucky Star, but that does sound like it'd fit in with her ossan (cantankerous old man) personality. :animesmil

My god...help me. I can't stop watching the damn opening to this show. I havn't even seen a single episode yet (nor will I probably start watching it) but I stumbled upon this on youtube yesterday and it's trying to attack my brain with cuteness overload. Though now I finally know what the hell is in Desbreko's sig.

(for this review with funny pictures, visit blog)

Okay, so I've finally gotten around to episode eleven, and as of half way through, I'm thinking this is the lamest episode since the first one. Seriously, that long-*** dragged out conversation at the beginning had me screaming in my mind 'JUST SHUT UP DAMN YOU!' to the point that I was infuriated. As of the halfway point, I am practically beating my head on my desk in boredom.

...*as of talking about cakes* you know, seriously, I can hardly even stand to watch this. This has been the most droning, boring episode of this show yet. I mean, when they start talking to much, it's always been where the problems start arising and the better episodes are the ones that spliced the chatter with cool little things and moved at a faster pace. This epsiode has bored me to tears. I seriously am struggling just to keep watching.

Also, whereas this show usually at least delivers a semi punch-line, this episode seems to sometimes get onto topics and drop them before even getting to a punchline, unless it was just that much lost in translation.

Prolly the best joke yet was the ramen one. I liked that one. in fact, from that point on it was all relatively cool, and give a tiny spark of life to an otherwise completely and utterly dead episode. Also, Lucky channel wasn't funny >_>

All the time spent on wikipedia is finally paying off, lol. I understand most of what Konata is saying. Same goes for Lucky Channel, although I forget what Tsundere meant. Akira's mood swings are fun to watch. I pity Sebastian ^^

Oh my lord! I watched a couple of clips on this show over at youtube from the first episode and damn if it wasn't the wackiest thing ever. XD From talking about how they eat foods, to how to grill onions to declaring they have over a hundred friends who
turn out to be online friends instead of real ones...
This show is insane!

I need to figure out how to see more of it since silly conversations like that crack me up to no end. lol :catgirl:

Also, and mind you I skimmed the thread since I want to avoid spoilers and whatnot. Am I the only one who while watching that silly opening feels like my IQ is dropping with every second that it plays? LOL

Actually, that's exactly how I described the entire experience. Each episode has a moment that finds me with my head bashed up against the desk half the time. Yet there's some kind of cuteness factor that keeps me sucked in, I've been trying to fight it but i've already gotten to episode 10 :animestun

I just watched episode 13 and I think the series has reached a new high. The conversations in the first half were pretty good, especially with a few references sprinkled in. The
Kanon reference, with Konata going, "Uguu," like Ayu,
was really cute and funny. And I think I'm going to be remembering the phrase,
"Rice cake goes whee,"
for quite some time.

The Valentine's Day stuff upped the ante and was even funnier. I loved the bit about
Konata's in-game marriage; that "does not compute" reaction from Kagami and Tsukasa
made me laugh a lot. And watching Kagami all embarrassed and in denial was cute,
even if it wasn't real
. I'm liking her more and more as the series goes on.

Short break with some so-so conversation, then BAM! Another scene with the crazy store clerks, this time even longer and weirder. Great way to end the episode.

But, of course, it's not over at that point. Lucky Channel was pretty good, with Akira
looking good in drills
and Minoru being smug in that, "I'm trying to hide it but not really," way. And then the closing karaoke was just. . . . Well, you have to see it for yourself. It made me go WTF mates? ^^

Am I the only one who while watching that silly opening feels like my IQ is dropping with every second that it plays? LOL
Nope, I tend to avoid watching the opening just for that reason. It is cute, but the voices come off as high pitched and grate on my ears. In addition to making you dumber at the same time. lol

I've yet to see a full episode since I've only done what you have Aaryanna and watched a handful of snippets over at youtube. But the ones I have seen are hilarious. It's funny how they sit there and talk about how to eat food or different things as if it was the most serious thing in the whole world.

Pity it's not out on DVD here in the USA, otherwise I'd go and pick up the first one to check it out.

Aw, come on, I love the opening sequence. It's so hyper-active, cute, and cheerful with a splash of random weirdness that I can't help but watch it every episode. I think it suits the series perfectly.

Like nails on a chalkboard. It makes me cringe lol Otherwise I would watch it every time. Since I wasn't saying it didn't suit the series Dessy. ;)

Well, I was responding to both your and Aaryanna's posts. If the tone of the singing grates on your nerves I can understand not liking it. But lowering your IQ as you watch it? I watch it every time and you don't see me getting any dumber, do you?

Wait, don't answer that. :animeswea

I can't help but watch it every damn time myself, hell it's at the point now where I can [strike]mimic the dances in my chair while humming it[/strike] hum it >.>

The endings are on and off, depending on what song they do. Has anyone else checked out that live action version of the opening on youtube though? Minus the lack of enthusiasm only in comparison to the opening sequence itself, it's actually pretty creepy how accurate it is.
