Treble held his hand out to Karu and lifted the two boys out of the dumpster.

Treble: Uhh, careful there boys...the sidewalk is slippery.

If that had been a joke, Karu and his companion weren't laughing.

Treble leant down over the two boys and turned his attention to the young four year old Windhyte boy.

Treble: Are you okay, son? Where's your parents?

Karu butted in...

Karu: His parents are in the Kingdom of Physar. His house isn't very far from mine....

Treble eyed Karu -- he only looked to be about ten years old, yet he seemed very bright.

Treble: Ahh I see. Were you out playing in that cave over there when the Kalhir came?

Karu: No. I was looking for this boy...his mother wanted him back. The Kalhir kidnapped him.

Treble: Ahh I see. How old are you, son?

Karu: I'm 12.

Treble: Oh, well...I guess you'll be able to take this little fella home? Or do you want some help?

Karu: I can do it...I can take him home.

Little Boy: Home! I want mummy! *sniff*

Treble: Okay...well I'll let you two go. I have business in Solhara to attend to. See you later!

Treble walked down the alleyway and into the main street of Solhara, leaving the two boys alone by the cave entrance.

Karu turned to the little boy.

Karu: Hey...what's your name?

Little Boy: Name? Umm...*puts finger in mouth*...my name's Makuh!

Karu: Makuh huh? Yeah...a traditional Windhyte name. Cool.

Makuh: What's traditional meen?

Karu: Umm, nothing...don't worry. Lemme take you home!

Makuh: Yea! Home! *jumps up and down on the spot*

Karu took Makuh's hand and led him down the alleyway toward the main street of Solhara -- he didn't want to go back into that cave, what if there was another Kalhir in there?

Karu and Makuh walked hand-in-hand down the busy main street of Solhara. It was filled with colorful neon lights, huge stalls and loud music. There were people everywhere.

The 400th Annual Gun Festival was now in its second day, and Karu couldn't believe what he saw. There was everything on display, from Twin-Barrel Plasma Launchers to Hovering Proximity Mines -- it was a haven for bounty hunters and warriors from all over Terraforma.

It was also an unusual time, in the sense that the streets were filled with just as many Falyores as Metropods. The Falyore were warriors and thus, this festival was important to many of them, despite Solhara being a good 2000 miles from the Metreon Caves in the north of Terraforma.

However, there weren't many Windhytes around at all -- this didn't at all surprise Karu, as Windhytes were famous for being peace-loving creatures. There also weren't any Quart to be seen -- they were all presumably too timid to enter such a big, bright city.

Karu, however, had grown up with Windhytes. He was used to seeing different species and he was a street smart kid.

Makuh, on the other hand, had a much different expression to Karu. Karu was holding his hand and leading him around the busy main street of Solhara, but Makuh kept stopping and staring at the bright lights and strange weapons. His mouth was hanging open, his eyes wide with wonderment.

The two walked for more than two hours -- Solhara's Main Street was enormous, it was several miles long. It would take them more than a day to walk from one side to the other.

Karu decided it best to stay at an inn somewhere for the night -- only problem was, he was a young kid. And who'd take in a kid in the middle of the night? That was the kind of place Solhara was.

Karu and Makuh sat on a bench on the sidewalk and watched the many hundreds of Metropods and Falyore pass by. The Falyore looked very intimidating to Karu; they were huge creatures who often looked rough and nasty. And just about every single one of them had at least one huge weapon equipped.

Almost as soon as they had sat down, Makuh had fallen asleep. He was sucking his thumb and leaning against Karu.

Karu looked around helplessly -- he didn't know what to do. And for the first time in his short life, he was very worried. What if they didn't find a place to stay? What would become of them?

These questions lingered in the back of his mind. And just as he felt like nobody would ever help him, he saw a Windhyte woman in the crowd waving at him and calling out at the top of her lungs.

Woman: Hey!! Over here!!

Karu squinted and saw who it was immediately -- it was Makuh's mother. She had a large backpack with what appeared to be the butt of a shotgun sticking out the back. Obviously, she had decided to buy weapons on her own, in order to track down her son's kidnapper. The heavy weapons on her back looked very out of place against the woman's creamy white skin and large, fluffy white wings.

The woman crossed the street (something which took her quite some time -- she gave plenty of room for the various Falyore men who got in her way) and walked over to the two boys.

Woman: Oh thank god! I'm so happy to see you both!

Karu: Please ma'am...we have nowhere to go. Can you help us?

Woman: Oh of course...yes, I'm staying in a hotel down the street. Come with me and you can share my room.

Karu: Oh, thank you very much.

Woman: Don't mention it. And thank you for finding my son...However did you do it? ...No, don't talk about it for now, you're too tired and you've had a long day. Let me take you both to my hotel for a good night's sleep.

The woman carefully lifted Makuh into her arms and gestured for Karu to follow. They both walked down the crowded street -- Karu was telling the woman about his encounter with the Kalhir and how he had only just managed to save her son's life. The woman just nodded and gazed upon Karu kindly as they continued walking towards the hotel.

Meanwhile, in East-Central Physar, AJ sat in his bed groaning about ..things..

AJ: A sickle(?) Stupid people, can't they get anything better? All I wanted was a longsword, at the least. But a magic sickle? Silly Windhytes,...they just don't understand that magic doesn't make the weapon..

Dad: And you don't understand that weapons don't make the man

He sat beside AJ on the bed, for one of those -father-to-son talks

Dad: Listen, son, I've been thinking,...you've never been outside of this kingdom before. Not even to see your grandparents. And I guess I've never really wanted to let you go. Not after your mother...But, I think your coming of age to explore, and find things out for yourself

AJ: ?

Dad: That's right son, I want you to leave. Not forever. and believe me, it's for your own good. That's what the armour was really for. Oh, and I thought I'd save this present for last, seen as though I couldn't finish it in time for your birthday :)

He bent under the bed, AJ's bed, and brought out a case. He unwrapped it, and inside was the most beautiful blade that AJ had ever seen

AJ: Dad....

Dad: yes son,...it's yours, I'm just surprised you didn't find it already..

He smiled and a tear formed in his eye. He dropped his head slowly

Dad: You leave tomorrow, I've arranged an escort for you already

Cloud was walking down the streets of Solhara when he spied a bow shop. He just couldn't resist going over and compareing those bows to his. As he approaches the bow shop he drew out his own bow. He looked over the bows, but none of them were to his interest. Although they had a few quite powerful and beautiful ones, his was magical.

Cloud:[thinking]hmmm i wonder, if i could get my hands on one of these bows, it could always be embued(sp)...Naw... not worth the hassle... I think i'll stay here for a few days, until this "show" is over. There's plenty of inn's and hotels around...

Just as he started looking around for a inn to stay in, he acccidentally bumped into a Metropod. Although he didn't no, it wa treble.

Durumir was being dragged off........ when suddenly Theoden approached.

Theoden: Release him.........

Guard: But sir....... we caught him fighting....

Theoden: I said release him...... and the other one. He's an old friend.

Durumir was let loose.... he made no hassle...... and was very polite towards the guards.

Theoden: Come on........ we're going to the weapon festival in Solhara.

Durumir: I doubt it....... Solhara is over 2000 miles away....... it took me almost a year to reach that place..... and the festival ends in a week....... I don't know how you plan to make it.

Theoden: You forget that we are mining people......... we need'nt go across the earth to get there..... we just make a short cut... straight through the earth. There is a huge passage that leads there at the back of our caves..... it's like a back door........ but only the Falyore know about it of course.

Durumir: You could have told me that before I set out!

Theoden: Ah, but the tunnel was still in construction then...... now it is finished..... earlier this year.

Durumir: But surely it will take us over a week to get there even in the tunnel?

Theoden: Not at all........ about 2 days actually. Well........ I'm not sure if you can keep up......

Durumir: I think that would be the other way round...... you forget that I am a ranger, I do not dally..... I am a man of haste.

Theoden: I suppose your right..... well........ we leave in an hour. A large group is coming...... whoever wishes to go is welcome ofcourse. If it weren't for that tunnel....... you would have been the only Falyore to set foot in Solhara.

Durumir: Are we the only party going there?

Theoden: Oh goodnedd no.... many parties have set of before us........ there are near 80,000 Falyore in Solhara as we speak, and another 10,000 on the trail. So get ready, we leave in an hour.

Durumir: I am ready...... everything I need I have in my possesion.

Theoden: I guessed so............. lets be off then. We just need the map......... and then we wait for the party at the entrance.

Durumir: You've just taken all the thrill out of what I do. I toil for near a year...... without map or guide...... and then I return..... and you have shortened my journey by about 350 days.

Theoden: Well....... if we all did what you do...... we wouldn't spend any time here either...... by the time we got back the next festival would have started.

Durumir: Indeed............ well lets be going then.

And so Theoden led Durumir off towards the check in station, where they would collect the map and supplies.

Rasanak: I know not why these two are here, both fighters they are. I do not know what is going on, but I do feel strangeness in Terraforma.

Rasanak lies down his cloak and sits on it, admiring his Mecha-Sword and thinking how his people at home are. Eventually, for the first time in months, he falls asleep.

[sephiroth waited patiently in his jail cell, sitting on the bed with arms folded, he continued his gaze onto the marble floor, as he had been for the past hour, his sword hanging crookedly at his side, he was thankful that the guards did not take it away from him, they all knew that his sword, the masamune, was like a part of him, not only that, but no one except for him could touch the sword, or risk being electrocuted to death, the sword had chosen him to be its keeper, he still remembered the fateful day, 10 years ago, when he found it, sephiroth suddenly heard the sound of his cell door opening, he raised his head and looked at the guard through unclouded eyes, the guard froze and nervously spoke]

guard: ahem...mr sephiroth, theoden has told us to pardon you of all charges, we apologise...for everything

[sephiroth got up and made his way out of the cell, not even glancing at the guard as he walked past him, the guard have a sigh of relief and made his way back to the office, sephiroth stepped outside the jail and looked around, he had 3 possible routes to take through the cave, he remembered that he had stored a small amount of gil at the check in station, he decided to go there and collect it, he would need it for tomorrow, he had some business to take care of, he made his way there, and within minutes, he had reached it, he saw 2 figures in the distance making their way towards it as well, and he recognised them both as being durumir and theoden]

to be continued....

Karu awoke and looked out the window next to his bed. He pressed his thumb to the pad on the wall and the windows dissappeared completely -- they were nothing but a solid hologram.

He leaned up against the window and looked out over the city.

The 400th Annual Gun Festival was now on its last day, and in the distance, beyond the enormous entrance gates of Solhara City, Karu could see caravans of Falyore moving past the various security checkpoints as they tried to enter the city -- not wanting to miss out on shiny new weapons, no doubt.

He looked up into the blue sky and saw flocks of white gulls moving over the city. It was such a beautiful day. The sky was painted a brilliant blue, the glass bulidings of Solhara City were shimmering in the morning light and the streets below were filled with millions of tourists and travellers, finding ways to spend their cash as fast as possible.

Karu rubbed his eyes and sat on his bed, looking around the room. Everything was so modern, from the huge flat screen LCD display on the wall, to the genetically modified "live forever" flowers in the vase by his bed. The room was empty though -- it looked like Makuh and his mother had decided to leave for home early, before the midday rush.

Karu hopped off his bed and put his clothes on. He decided it best to return home before too long -- his parents would be worried.

He took some of the hotel's complimentary cookies 'n' sweets and put them into his backpack; they might come in handy on the long trip home, he thought.

He opened the door to his room and walked down the hotel's corridor. Karu was now standing infront of the hotel, on busy Main Street.

Two and a half hours passed and Karu arrived back in the alleyway where he had first emerged into the city yesterday morning.

But to his surprise, there was nothing there. The cave entrance had been completely sealed over.

Karu: Oh no...I can't get home now...

Karu sat down on the sidewalk outside the alley and wondered what his next step would be.

Just as he thought there was no hope, he looked up and saw a fairly scruffy looking man holding a leash. Attached to the other end of the leash was a huge, golden bird. The bird didn't look very happy with the man -- it kept tugging violently on the leash, to which the man would reply by swearing at the bird and attempting to kick it.

Karu's ears pricked up -- he had an idea.

He walked over to the scruffy man and tugged on his shirt.

Scruffy Man: What is it? What do ya want?

Karu: Uhh, sir...you seem to be having some trouble with that bird there.

Scruffy Man: Hell yeah I am! Stupid darn thing...no brains in its head. I'm supposed to be taking it back to the Bon Bon Chocobo Ranch just outside the Kingdom of Physar. But the stupid bird won't obey me!

Karu: There's a Chocobo farm outside the Kingdom? How far from the Kingdom is it?

Scruffy Man: Well err...I guess it's about a mile from the Kingdom.

Karu: Oh I see. Well, if you like...I could take the bird for you.

Scruffy Man (laughed and wiped his nose on his sleeve): You?! But you're just a boy...and a Quart at that. You're far too weak to control such a stupid, large beast. Chocobos have to trust their owner...if they don't trust or know you, they won't cooperate. And frankly, I don't have time to earn this animal's trust.

Karu: Please sir...I need to get home anyway. I can take him with me.

The scruffy man eyed Karu suspiciously and said nothing for a few moments. He then handed the end of the leather leash to Karu.

Scruffy Man: Fine. I don't care. It's a stupid bird, anyway. Just take it to the Bon Bon Chocobo Ranch and ask for Cid. He is the man I'm supposed to be taking this Chocobo to. He'll give you all the info on chocobos that you'll ever need. He's a nice fella. Tell him Bob sent you.

Karu: Okay...Cid, right. Will do. Thanks again, Bob.

Bob: No worries. Anyway, I'm off to visit the local Molly's Gourmet Fish Cavern. I can't wait!

And with that, Bob rubbed his tummy and walked off in the other direction.

Gourmet Fish Cavern? Euh, Karu thought that sounded disgusting!

Karu looked up at the chocobo. It was so tall compared to him, that it towered over him. It had quite an angry look on its face -- it almost looked like it was scowling at him (which was very weird considering that it had a beak rather than a mouth).

"Hmmm...I wonder", thought Karu. He reached into his backpack and took out a cookie which he had taken from the hotel.

He crumbled it up and put it in his palm, which he then held out infront of the chocobo.

The chocobo cocked its head and eyed Karu, as if wondering what kind of trick he was playing. It lowered its great head and sniffed at the crumbled up cookie...and then started eating from Karu's hand.

Karu smiled and let go of the leash -- the chocobo didn't go anywhere. He used his other hand to stroke the chocobo's lush, golden feathers. The chocobo cooed softly as it ate, the feathers on its red cheeks fluffed up.

Karu: Good boy...see? I'm not gonna hurt you...

Chocobo: Kweh!

The chocobo had finished the cookie. It blinked at Karu, but didn't move.

All of a sudden, the chocobo crouched down on the ground. Karu instantly knew what to do -- he carefully climbed up onto its back and took the reigns in his hands.

The chocobo shook the crums from its beak. Karu leant forward and stroked the feathers on the chocobo's neck. It's eyes closed as it cooed softly.

Karu: Uhh...chocobo...go forward!

The chocobo, as if understanding what Karu had said, began to walk foward.

Karu rode the chocobo down Main Street and out the main gate of Solhara City. He took out a map from his backpack -- he decided to move west and go through Garden Grove. Bon Bon's Chocobo Ranch was only three miles west of Garden Grove.

Karu and his new friend slowly moved off over the horizon, Karu stopping every now and then to feed the chocobo a cookie...

Rasanak wakes up, still in the dark, Cloud and Treble were still asleep. He tiptoed quietly out of the inn, putting 50gil on the bar for the bartender.

Rasanak: No shops will be open yet, I shall go with my own provisions, I am sure I overheard one of the drunkards in there tell of a tunnel that leads to Solhara. I may be able to find it.

Rasanak walked along the primitive streets of the Metreon Caves and found a suspicious looking peice of rock, as if someone or something was meant to find it. He tapped on it and found that with his good hearing, he harked a hollow tap come from behind the rock. But he pondered over how to open it.

Rasanak: How will I go about opening this... or at least breaking it. But it is early, many of these stupid Falyores may wake if I use my Mecha-Sword... whoo, that sure would be a force to contend with. Now... maybe a pattern of taps may activate something inside. No! These primitive under-stone dwellers would not have the technology to do that.

Rasanak leant against the stone and began to think heavily about how to open it. But fatigue from thinking soon smothered him and he began to tap the hilt of his sword on the stone. He tapped it in a tune he had heard as a child. This tune was catchy and had memorized it for all those long years in the Metropod Guard. Suddenly, the space behind the stone started to vibrate very slightly and he heard a deep rumbling come far from behind the stone. The stone slid down into the ground and the space behind was lit with torches, and paved with some precious rock from the caves.

Rasanak: Hahaha... looks like I have underestimated them, now I will have to find a way to Solhara. 'Tis a long walk it is said, but that is above ground, maybe below ground it will be shorter. I will have to be stealthy in my movements, this tunnel is probably patrolled.

Even his soft voice echoed through the tunnel, after the echoes had stop, he heard a new sound... grunting. It was soft. But because of the tunnel was echoed until it reached Rasanak.

Voice: Embra ulan! breh gallah, polir!

Second voice: Heol, emol tleg polir!

Rasanak: Surely that is Falyore speech... my bionic sensors in my ear tell me so. They have heard the stone opened, and they have quite alot of guard on patrol. Damn! I will have to be even more stealthy now.

A faint roaring was heard, and then the Falyore speech. Heavy footsteps then sounded, getting ever so louder with each thump.

Rasanak: Damnnit!! They are coming, they are coming!! Where shall I go!!?

Rasanak spied gaps in some of the walls of the tunnel, maybe they may hide him. He quickly walked into one and checked for Falyores coming.

Rasanak: None, excellent!

He swiftly moved on and on past the next gap into another after that one.

Second Voice: Zaret! Zaret!

Rasanak looked out and saw three Falyore guards running very swiftly towards his hiding spot, he could hear loud thumping footsteps after the guards.

Rasanak: Looks like I will have to fight then...

He unsheathed his sword, the sound echoed loudly and the footsteps stopped.

Guard1: Ubler... Zaret!!

Rasanak: I think that Zaret means attack...
Rasanak: ZAAARET!!!

Rasanak ran out the hiding spot and looked in front of him. Three towering and muscely guards. Two armed with a spear, the other with a long-sword.

Guard2: We don't get many folk down here, how did you find out robot man?

Guard1+3: Gwahahahaha!

Rasanak: A drunkard spoke of this place, in the inn down the street. He shouldn't of spoken ill of this place, now you will suffer!

Guard1: Well, at least you will know a little more language before you die- "Eborn derak nil!"-It translates into common speech as-"Die robot man!"-Good joke, eh?

Guard2+3: Gwahahaha!

Rasanak: That laugh will no longer echo in this tunnel when I am robbing your dead bodies of weapons!

Guard1+2+3: EBORN DERAK NIL!!!

The two spear-guards ran at Rasanak and swung blindly. One missed, the other hit his shin and he tripped. It raised the spear again, Rasanak stopped it with the metal under the skin of his left arm. But the other spear-guard hit Rasanak in the chest, flinging him backwards. Rasanak raised his sword and pointed it at the first spear-guard.

Rasanak: You will now see what the bullet can do!!

Rasanak aimed the sword and shot thousands of bullets into the guards head, exploding it and he fell down, brown/red blood soaking the floor and his primitive clothes.

Rasanak: What can your magic do against that force then stone men!?

Guard1: Many things, robot.

The guard raised his sword and chanted a primitive spell, a wave of heat swept over Rasanak as he raised his own sword without knowing it. He hit his leg glancingly, peircing the light armour and his skin. Trickles of blood fell from it.

Rasanak: I have no need for fell dark magic, machinary is what counts!!

Rasanak stood, shaking slightly, his sword began to glow. The generator on the hilt whirred as it emmited blue sparks along the sword. He ran towards the two guards that where left, gritting his teeth, he swung mightily and caught only the spear-guard in the middle. It's stomach sliced open and fell to the floor, blue sparks flying from its limp body. Rasanak had missed the other guard, but now he jumped in the air and slashed the guards arm, only a glancing wound!

Rasanak: ... Tough puff... skin!

Guard: Getting tired are we?

Rasanak: puff...

The guard swung for Rasanak's head, he ducked and stabbed quickly the hand that held the sword. The guard fumbled, and dropped it.

Guard: No weapons I need to kill robot weaklings...

Rasanak: N-no...!

The guard raised a boulder sized fist and smashed Rasanak in the stomach, smashing him into a wall.

Rasanak: Y-y-you can't win!

Guard: Oh really? Gwahahaha!

Rasanak: NO YOU CAN'T!!

Guard: ...?

Rasanak: Primitive scum like yourself should be left underground. You cannot filth my city with your crappy and shoddily made weapons!!

Rasanak took one final swing which caught the guard's leg, felling him. Then on the final swing, he pulled the trigger as he hit, the guards body exploded and Rasanak fell back, panting.

Rasanak: I... hate.... Falyore's!!

Garden Grove was a beautiful place. It was several miles long and contained several hundred different pathways.

Garden Grove, as the name suggests, is a huge garden built exactly halfway between the Kingdom of Physar and Solhara City. It was constructed when both races officially made peace with one another, some 160 years ago. Prior to that, there had been much suspicion and four long, drawn-out wars between the Windhytes and the Metropods.

The garden had more than 200 gigantic gazebos and some 1400 fountains. It was huge -- and was a major tourist destination. The pathways of the garden were filled with Windhytes and Metropods who were going on vacation.

As Karu and his chocobo neared the end of Garden Grove, he saw a large building in the distance, with various fences around it. As he came closer, he could clearly make out the huge sign on the side of a large farmhouse. It read:

Bon Bon's Chocobo Ranch: Home of the Famous Blue Water Chocobo

Underneath the large sign he saw another sign which read:

CHOCOBO PARKING LOT: 1 HOUR, 2 HOUR & 3 HOUR FEEDING AREAS

Eventually, Karu & his chocobo were standing out the front of the large ranch.

To the right, they saw a large paddock full of yellow chocobos. To the left, there was a paddock of green chocobos. And in the middle, was a large farmhouse with stables inside.

Karu hopped off his chocobo and took its leash. He led it to the parking area and fastened the leash against a post in the 1 Hour Chocobo Parking Bay.

He then walked down the main path into the farmhouse.

On the other side of the farmhouse, he saw an old man with white hair. The man was feeding a large, black chocobo, who didn't seem to be too happy at all.

Karu walked over to the man and saw that he had the name "Cid" written on his shirt.

Karu: Excuse me...Cid?

Cid: Oh, hello there young man. What can I do for you?

Karu: I'm here on behalf of Bob from Solhara City. I returned your chocobo for you -- he's in the 1 Hour Chocobo Parking Bay right now.

Cid: Ahh yes...Choco. I leant him to Bob a month ago, for his long trip to Solhara and beyond. Did he take good care of Choco for me?

Karu: Erm...well, they didn't exactly see eye-to-eye.

Cid (laughed): Yes...Choco is a very selective chocobo. He won't trust just anyone.

Karu looked around the farmhouse. It was filled with stables, which featured different types of chocobo.

Karu: So...do you run this place on your own?

Cid: Not on my own, I run it with my wife, Lynda. She's in the Kingdom of Physar right now, picking up some groceries for us.

Karu: Oh. I read on the sign out the front that you have Water Chocobos here...

Cid: Indeed we do. At the moment, we only have babies though. Five babies, to be exact. They haven't grown yet.

Karu: I noticed that the sign says "Bon Bon's Chocobo Ranch"...but if you run it, who's Bon Bon?

Cid: Well, I run it...but Bon Bon owns it. He owns about five different ranches all over Terraforma. He's a very shrewd businessman.

Karu: Interesting.

Cid: So...is there anything you want, now that you're here?

Karu: Hmm, well...I'm afraid I can't afford anything. I don't have any money.

Cid (scratches head): Well...since you were kind enough to return my precious Choco to me, I shall give you a free gift. You may choose anything you like.

Karu: Wow, really?! Cool...I'll take a look around then.

Cid: Take your time.

Karu walked around to the other side of the farmhouse. On the wall were all kinds of strange things: Chocobo Saddles, Chocobo Blinkers, Chocobo Night Vision Goggles, Chocobo's Shoes (for the pampered pet), a Chocobo Feather Grooming Kit (including brush and instruction manual) and even an Official Bon Bon's Chocobo Beak Warmer.

All of these items looked interesting...but Karu didn't own a chocobo. So they were of no use to him.

He looked further down and saw an interesting object. It was a little pouch with the words "Chocobo Dust" on them.

He took the pouch and walked back to Cid.

Karu: I think I'll take this, please.

Cid: Ahh yes, good choice.

Karu: I don't even know what it is...

Cid: Well, Chocobo Dust is a very special mixture. All you have to do is hold the pouch open and let a chocobo smell it. The scent of the dust makes the chocobo trust whoever is holding the pouch. It's a very rare mixture -- and this is my last pouch of it.

Karu: Wow...it sounds expensive. Perhaps I should choose something cheaper...

Cid: No, no. This is fine...you deserve it. You can take it if you want.

Karu: Really? Thanks!

Cid: No problem. Enjoy your trip home!

Karu: Bye, Cid!

Karu put the pouch in his pocket and walked out of the ranch.

He could see the enormous gates of the Kingdom just over the horizon -- it'd take him about an hour or so to walk there...but it shouldn't be too much trouble.

Karu said goodbye to Choco (who nuzzled him and licked his face) and was on his way home.

Durumir's looks suddenly grew angry. Was Sephiroth looking for another fight..... he did not know. Sephiroth had noticed Durumir also. He gripped the hilt of his Masamune...... and stepped forward. Immediately Theoden jumped in between them.

Theoden: Please...... no fighting....... no I will have you both banished from Metreon. I want you two to make peace.

Sephiroth looked down at the ground...... then like a child who was being forced to do it....... he removed his hand from the hilt of his Masamune...... and held it out. Durumir stepped forward... and embraced his hand, shaking it. Durumir smiled from the fact that peace had been made...... but he could not tell Sephiroth's expresion..... he could only see his cold staring eyes from under his hood. Theoden picked up several large packs.... even by Falyore standards.

Theoden: Are you two gonna help me carry these?

Durumir: Ofcourse my friend.

Durumir strided forward and accepted a bag graciously. Sephiroth silently waled over and snatched another pack from Theoden's hand.

Theoden: Durumir...... I lied about the large group coming along..... I did count on this happening. It will be just us three, all other's who wished to go are already there.

Durumir: Have you even enquired to our silent friend here if he wishes to go?

Theoden: Well...... not exactly.

Theoden and Durumir turned to Sephiroth, and awaited his answer.

Eventually, Rasanak caught his breath and walked over to the three dead guards. And checked them through.

Rasanak: Some ether... why would I need that? I am no weak and frail magic user.

He picked up two brown leather drink containers and opened up the top. Two of the six were red and the other four were blue, but they both had a sweet scent drifting about them.

Rasanak: Ahh! Potion! I could recognise that smell anywhere!

Rasanak took all the containers, only half of the red one. He felt completley rejuvinated and his fatigue left him.

Rasanak: Hang on... before the battle I heard heavy steps. Like... from some beast, probably a mutant or someth--

Suddenly a huge roar filled the air, and the heavy thuds sounded again. Rasanak quickly attached the containers to his belt and ran as fast as he could, avoiding the guards as best as he could.

Soon he came to a large clearing in the tunnel, on a sign said:

The Royal Falyore Guard Chocobo Ranch.

Rasanak: A chocobo ranch... down here?!

Suddenly Rasanak realized that a guard was walking in his direction, he got ready to fight. But the guard just passed him, Rasanak ran up in front of him and stopped, the guard kept walking by.

Rasanak: It must have been that red potion I had. Maybe that was also an invisibility potion...

Rasanak ran to the nearest fenced area to find a chocobo, he wanted one that looked good and would obey his orders. A yellow one was standing alone with its leash tied to a sign which said, "Choki"

Rasanak: So your name's Choki then?

Choki: Kweh!

Rasanak: Come on then boy--or girl.

Rasanak untied the leash and got on Choki, it had it's own saddle and front armour, there were more potion containers in a brown leather pack hanging down the side of the chocobo. Rasanak vaulted onto Choki and led it slowly past the guards, but Choki wasn't invisible, so it caught the guard's attention pretty quick. Grunts rang through the ranch as the guards tried to chase Choki, but Rasanak had chosen well. Choki was a very fast runner and obeyed what Rasanak said.

Rasanak: Come Choki, let us ride to Solha--

Beast: GRAAAAAAAAAAARLLL!!!

Rasanak: That thing has caught up with us! Damn, fly this place Choki, RUN!!

He urged Choki on and they sped down the tunnel, the beast following quickly. Rasanak looked back, he could see two Falyores riding it, spears held high above their heads.

Choki kept running, while Rasanak tried to shoot them with his Mecha-Sword, he shot one off, and the other threw his spear, it his Choki on the back.

Choki: KWEH!

Rasanak: No, Choki come on! We've got to hurry!!

Choki slowed down quite a bit, getting slower every step. Rasanak was fiddling with his Mecha-Sword to see if he could electrocute the bullets in the barrel and then when they are shot, they use an electric bolt on the guard. It would have the same force as getting hit by lightning.

Rasanak: Got it!

Choki: ... kweh.....

Rasanak: Don't give up now Choki, look! The end of the tunnel! Oh joy are my eyes glad to see proper light!

Rasanak turned on the generator and it whirred, he put his finger on the trigger. The barrel was sparking blue and white. HE pulled the trigger. BAM!! A lightning bolt escaped from the barrel and shot toward the guard on the beast, he fell of and the beast was injured, it had a wound on its head and red blood poured out. As blood covered its upper body, it disappeared. It also had a sweet sent coming from it. The red potion!! That must have been the blood from this beast.

The beast was completely gone now, and Rasanak grew more anxious as Choki slowed down to a trot, about 100 feet from the end of the tunnel.

Rasanak: Come on Choki, go, run!

Choki: ....

Rasanak: Choki, not long n--WHOAAH!!

A great force suddenly hit Rasanak's shoulder, knocking his sword out of his hand. The beast was now again visible, it spied the sword on the floor, and crushed it with its paw.

Rasanak: No!! My Mecha-Sword! Choki, turn back!!

Choki: Kweh! Choki shook its head.

Rasanak saw suddenly that a vast stone was moving across the entry, if they did not hurry, they would surely be killed.

Rasanak: Fly Choki, fly this place and run like you have never before!

Choki: !!!

Choki made one last effort and a burst of speed was put on by it, they reached the exit and stopped. The stone was just closing, but the beast put is paw under and tried to lift it.

Rasanak: NO!

Rasanak ran over to the stone and kicked the paw as hard as he could, it went and the stone door closed with a thud.

Choki: .... Khew.... kweh.......!

Rasanak: Choki! That wound looks bad, I wonder if potion works on chocobo's too...

Rasanak took one of the potions from Choki's pack and rubbed it on the wound, it fizzled and then went. The stained yellow feathers were also cleared of dry blood.

Choki: Kweh!

Choki nuzzled Rasanak, but he pushed it away and walked over to the stone. Choki cocked its head.

Rasanak: M-my sword... left... broken... destroyed.

Choki: ... Kweh?

Rasanak: DAMN THOSE FALYORES!!

Choki went behind Rasanak and pushed him to the top of the hill they were on.

Rasanak: What is it?

Choki: Kweh!!

Rasanak walked over the top and saw the tips of glassy buildings, huge buildings. It stretched for miles and he could just see many people on their daily business.

Rasanak: Solhara... I am home!!

Harper, eh? Sure, I'll add you.

As Rasanak led Choki down the hill, he heard someone calling to him. He turned back to look and there was a small figure running toward him.

Stranger: Excuse me, do you know the road to Solhara?

Rasanak: Hahaha! The road is where you are standing boy, just follow it straight on until you get to some big gates.

Stranger: Ok, thank you, didn't catch your name. I am Harper.

Rasanak: Harper... that rings a bell. I'm Rasanak.

Harper: OH! I saw you on TV!

Rasanak: ...? You have TV in the tree?

Harper: No, I saw it here. You were discharged from the guard.

Rasanak: Ah yes... I killed that captain... heh.

Harper: ...

Rasanak: What?

Harper: Nothing, come on, just lead me to Solhara.

Rasanak: Nods Are you by any chance one of those midget tree dwelling folk.

Harper: Racist *******! Yes, well... kind of... half. And half Metropod.

Rasanak: AH! Come my good man to the great modern city of Solhara, have you been here before?

Harper: Only twice.

Rasanak: A Metropod only been to his home... twice?! Have you come for the weapons festival?

Harper: Yeah.

Rasanak: Me too, I was unfortunate to... uhh... "misplace" my Mecha-Sword in Metreon Caves. Damn those Falyores.

Harper: Whoa, a Mecha-Sword has not been seen for years, not since the Metropod Royal Guard destroyed all of them. How did you keep yours?

Rasanak: I was discharged, and stowed it in my pack.

Harper: Oh...

Rasanak: Come now, we must leave to get to Solhara in time.

Harper: Ok, let's go. Fine lookin' chocobo he's got there, it looks like a royal guard bred one.

Choki: Kweh!

Guide: Wha? You only have your sword with you

AJ: And armour!

Guide: But-but, I have all your provisions! I can't carry anymore! Honestly, do a favour for your friend, and he leaves you a brat to drop off at the tin-city, for a stupid war tournament...

AJ: You don't understand the fine art of war, or have a deep appreciation for weaponry, unlike us Falyores...

Guard: You're a Windhyte too, and don't you ever forget it

Flash and Moon stand in the bar, still talking. Flash realises that it's not exactly very appealing, and take immediate action...

Flash: Hey, would you like to get a table? I know standing up here at this grotty bar *glances at Ogden* No offence... must be getting kind of weary.

Moon: Sure, why not.

Flash walks over to one of the corners of the bar, where there is a few tables in a nice little area, sealed off by a velvet drape... Flash walks over to what seems to be the most expensive looking and fancy table of them all... He takes the small 'Reserved' sign off the table, and tosses it over his shoulder...

Moon: I think this table is reserved, Flash.

Flash: It is. By me.

Moon: You always have a table reserved?

Flash: It's not often I meet someone as beautiful as you. I have to be prepared.

Moon: You're flattering me...

Flash: Oh, I think not. ...I hate to sound cliche, but what's a girl like you doing in a place.. like this? A Windhyte in a Falyore pub? A little strange, dare I say.

Moon: *shrug* I like to keep moving. I'm a bounty hunter by nature. Not exactly the nicest person....

Flash: How the hell did you become a bounty hunter?!?

Moon: Long story.....I'm more violent than the usual Windhyte, which means that I dont' mix well with them. I also don't use magic but prefer cold silver.......so I'm well adapted to killing.

Flash: Pleasent.

Moon: Quite.
