1. My biggest complaint is against the text/font you used, it looks like it was placed randomly and the font doesn't match either of the characters/the look of the signature. Also try blending the center of the image better, so that the two sides don't clash as badly as they are, and maybe try a different border >_>...
 2. I visited the official Eureka Seven site today and all I can say is i'm sold on the series. The animation looks like it'll be top-notch and considering the fact I never had the chance to finish Kenran Butou Sai (or Soukyuu no Fafner ;-;) this should be a good pickup to fill the mecha void in my life. Well not that there's a "void" because I just finished downloading episode 15 of Gundam SEED Destiny >_>... But many series produced by BONEs have started to appeal to me over the last few months or so.
 3. I'll give this sig a go to . As soon as I get the text to look right i'll post my version and you can decide which signature you want to use =D! *I'll edit this post with the uploaded signature in a bit*
 4. Wow... A signature made by yours truly :P. I'll make a matching avatar in a little bit when I get the time, until then I hope this will suffice. edit: avatar
 5. Here, there's a nice little crash in the background for you  --->
 6. There are really only a couple of animes I rewatch. Rurouni Kenshin would have to be the series I rewatch the most. It being the first anime that I ever really got "addicted" to I can never get enough of all the RK goodness, not only do I enjoy all the action scenes but the storyline and the characters always seem to touch me every single time . It's much the same way with Full Metal Alchemist ;). Every now and then i'll rewatch parts, or atleast the ending of a Gundam series, just because they usually tend to have dramatic endings where one or more of your favorite characters go bye-bye... Eh... Then there's Initial D which is what i'm currently addicted to, the end of Second Stage is a realy beaut' and some of the race scenes in Fourth Stage are just amazing (Takumi vs. The Todou School Rally Driver, is probably my favorite race of all time!).
 7.
Okay, I must contradict this. If the SEED gundams were to activate their Phase Shift armor all the EVA units would have to do would just sit back and wait for the batteries to go dead seeing as how the armor is a massive drain on the gundam's reactor. In all fairness I don't think the EVAs just hauling off and backhanding a gundam a melee weapon, its more like just getting royally smacked across a city.
Right that's only true for the original five gundams in Gundam SEED; because of Freedom, Justice, and Providence's neutron jammer cancelers they're able to use their phase shift for as long as they want... The beauty of nuclear power, ay? Raider Calamity, and Forbidden Gundam also utilize Trans-phaseshift armor so there energy isn't as easily wasted... Then there are the different Astray Varients which for the most part are great not because of their design or specs. but because of their pilots and the strategy that goes into what they do (ever read the Astray Manga? I highly reccomend it). Anyway putting that aside... I really hate comparing different anime series like this because there are way to many what "ifs". But putting all of those aside I honestly believe a Gundam from Gundam SEED is stronger than a EVA. *Note* I said stronger, not that the Gundam would neccessarily win. It all depends on who is piloting what but Kira in his Freedom Gundam or even Athrun in Justice just literally seem as though they would be able to overpower anything the EVA's and EVA pilots could throw at them.

To be honest I was somewhat avoiding this thread because EVA Unit 100's opinions seemed a little unfair. While raving about the animation of series such as Gundam SEED he talked about how "bad" the animation for series such as Gundam 0079. Now what's the major difference between the two series listed above? Well the one series with the the "bad" - let's not use "bad" but instead use "lower quality" - lower quality animation in EVA Unit 100's opinion being Gundam 0079 was created in 1979 where Gundam SEED (a series which EVA Unit 100 likes the animation) was created in 2002. Just look at the gap in time and it becomes pretty obvious to those naive enough not to realize it already that a series created 25 years ago just cannot hold up visually against a series created just a whopping two years ago. While I used EVA Unit and what he stated as nothing more than an example what I am trying to get at is that comparing most animes prior to the year 1998 with animes that are currently being released soley on their animation alone is in a way pointless (with some exceptions running through the 90's; but truthfully most animes created before 1990 really just have lower quality animation that is nowhere near todays standards because of the large gap and difference in technology that was availabe at the time of production). No matter how bad they may be many of the animes released today are much more visually pleasing than even great animes of the past only because the technology used to create anime nowadays is much sharper, cleaner, and overall just better than the technology and methods used in the past. *Okay 1998 was just a random year I chose and may not be totally accurate as there are some animes I could name off the top of my head produced in the mid 90's which still can compare to certain animes being produced today; but when you look at a variety of the animes that have been released in the years 2000-2004 and compare them to animes released in the 1990's you'll see that even there, there is a huge discrepency between the newer and older animation quality. Once again caused by nothing more than the difference in technology.*
 9. While I never bothered with FMP: Fumoffu, I enjoyed the original Full Metal Panic; the ending was anti-climatic and I really wish many more of the loose ends were tied up but... Supposedly a 3rd installment of Full Metal Panic is in the works! The September 2004 issue of Dragon Magazine is supposed contain a big announcement about Full Metal Panic (wasn't this similar to how Fumoffu was announced o_O)? The japanese fansite fullmeta.com (which is considered credible by many people). also states that the series will be directed by Yasuhiro Takemoto (the same person who directed Fumoffu). I'm honestly hoping for a continuation of the first series rather than Fumoffu though >_>...
 10. Here they are; I was pretty lazy so I didn't make the color schemes in the avatar and signature completly uniform, but I don't think it matters that much .
 11. Do you want the signature to have your name on it or should it just say "Akuma"?
 12. Before posting in this thread I just wanted to watch the fourth episode of Soukyuu no Fafner so I could give a valid opinion. The short story = I like it. While I have not seen RahXephon and have only read what the plot is about I can see where people draw the similarities between the two series, sure you could compare Fafner to EVA but I honestly think (atleast so far) that's a bit of a stretch. Fafner is really an interesting anime in my opinion; there aren't many animes that I've seen that I can honestly say I don't fully understand Fafner is exactly one of those animes where even after four episodes i'm still trying to tie all the threads that have been thrown at us together and am still trying to figure out the rational behind each specefic character. I guess the beauty of Fafner is that so many ambiguous characters and references to people, places, etc. are brought up in such a way that rather than feeling lost a strong sense of curiosity is aroused and the series really has you wondering what is going to happen next, and why certain characters make the decesions they make. I'm really eager to see how Soukyuu no Fafner progresses the animation and soundtrack are great and the plot while generic in some ways more than makes up for itself in constantly keeping you thinking and wondering why? and what?.
 13. Actually rather than use up OtakuBoards bandwidth, I reccomend you go to ---> ImageShack File Hosting Once there click browse then search for the image you want to upload from you computer and select it. Click the "Host It" button, once the new page loads copy and paste the URL under the heading "Post your image on message boards!" (the first URL in the list of URLs which appear after you upload your image) in your signature on the forums.
 14.
I think the world of Ghost in the Shell has TONS of potential for great games - considering the interesting angles it takes on the issues of robotic implants in humans, and so on, and so forth. Am I missing something? Is there one like that already?
Actually there is a new Ghost in the Shell game entitled "Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex" which will be released simultaneously with the airing of Ghost of the Shell Stand Alone Complex this fall on Cartoon Network. From the screenshots and what i've read about the game it's a 3rd person shooter which has little vehicle driving and main draw is the ability to hack into robots and enemies and use them for whatever you please. While this game does look to be a major improvement over the PSone Tachikoma vehicle game, unless your a diehard fan of Ghost in the Shel i'm going to reccomend renting this game and not buying it. Simply I say this because number one the game is produced by Bandai (the example I use is the various Gundam games they have created they are always very flawed yet I tend to enjoy them a lot more than my friends because i'm a diehard Gundam addict), and there are few - if any - games based off anime that actually turn out good. *The video game also looks like it plays much like a arcade shooter, while it does look to be more entertaining and require more skill than say Gungrave did I wouldn't be surprised if it has a low replay value and at times degenerates to random firing at unintelligent enemies.* This game will either be a hit or miss. If Bandai decides to make the game play a little more like Metal Gear Solid (in terms of control) then this game will be a hit, if they take after GunGrave and try to make it into a oldschool arcade shooter this game is destined to fail.
Also now that Gungrave is an anime there is a PS2 game....But which came first?
The GunGrave video games game first. Yes that is plural. While I recieved the first GunGrave video game for my birthday after easily beating it in a few hours I have no plans on picking up the second game. There were some great (short, yet great) anime styled cut scenes in the game and it was fun when I first picked it up but the game was just an extremely old arcade like game full of button-mashing, stupid enemies (who for the most part look the same!) and the story is extremely incoherent and poorly put together. *The second GunGrave game is supposed to be better than the first, so if you plan on buying one of the two games buy the second game first and buy the first game used if your really that desperate to play it.*
I'm still waiting for a shoot em up Trigun game that was in development a few years ago.
I've read a variety of things from a variety of sources and even though this game was announced two-years ago there is still a possibility that it is still being worked on but just is on the backburner. I also red in one article that RED entertainment is planning on selling the rights to the game to another company and letting them finish the game o_O(?). So while this game has not been officially cancelled I wouldn't be surprised if it is... If the game is finished and released though we can only hope that the game is not just another Devil May Cry clone...
 15.
Must have been a error or glitch.
I hope it was otherwise I will be stuck in eternal sorrow for the rest of my pitiful life .
My only problem is where they hit in certain places. Mainly, how the light and shadows meet on Jo's lower half of her body. Mainly, how the light and shadows meet on Jo's lower half of her body.
Are you referring to the lower left corner? Or to how the top of Jo's back has more colorful and is more vibrant than her lowerback =o? As for the signature thank you for the comments and while I agree with you all with the "Z" being a little off i'm not quite sure if I have any other font which looks better, i'm browsing through my fonts now so i'll post up a revised signature later but for now... (as for adding more depth to the edges I'll try that later as well but the reason why I have not done that is because the stock image and the sandy background are actually one layer I accidently flattened ^_^''). Hmmm... Here's a new triplet of stuff for everyone to view ---> I don't do too many graphics with real people, but since Kenji-boy now re-dubbed Syn asked me to make him a matching signature and avatar with those specific pictures here's what popped out of the magic photoshop oven... Really the only thing about the signature i'm not entirely happy with is the text, I never really had the time to finalize it and run through some different variations to see which is better. But people nowadays are so impatient :p. And now time for one of my personal favorite graphics, and my favorite/best layout to date ---> This particular layout was inspired by the character in the banner named Gaara (from Naruto). He basically has the power to manipulate sand and to put a long story short he's basically insane ^_^. The banner for this layout has actually been done for quite some time but i'm still working on the center piece and want to do something (I have no idea what) to the side bars just to spruce things up a bit.
 16. I just noticed that I haven't posted anything here in a while... I wonder why ... So for all two of you who are going to view this thread and reply i'll drop by at various times today and tomorrow and just post a variety of different images I have been creating/that I recently created... Numero Uno: ----------------------------------------------------- Name - Jo - Street Smart Original Size - 1600x1200 (scaled down to 1024x768) Type of Image - Wallpaper Image Notes - I'm not very big into designing wallpapers because of the amount of wallpapers out there and that are churned out on a daily basis by many individuals who have no idea what they are doing. But hey just for the heck of it I gave it a shot and this is what I came up with ---> The character is Jo from Bakuretsu Tenshi, and while I wouldn't call this wallpaper a success I did learn a variety of things from it and am now really concentrating on lighting effects and light sources (something I had a bad feel for going into and when creating this wallpaper). The wallpaper could still use some touching up and reworking of the lighting effects but because I love the buildings I created so much and don't feel motivated enough to change the completed wallpaper i've already decided to come back and recreate this wallpaper at a later date once I improve my skills a bit more. Here's a fun fact of the day: My wallpaper was probably the only wallpaper ever to be rejected from theOTAKU.com :p Either that or there was an error while I was submitting my wallpaper and it was never reached the intended recipient  Whatever the reason may be, because my wallpaper pales in comparison to the rest of the wallpapers that were submitted, is just another reason why I believe this wallpaper was hardly a "success" and could still use a lot of work. *For those of you who would like larger versions of the wallpaper just post here asking for them, or send me a private message and I will upload a larger version for you.* I'm also working on finishing the signature i'm currently using but please feel free to comment on that as well ;).
 17. You got the names mixed up Katushiro is the "pathetic samurai" the one in the orange with green hair . The amount of characters in the series whose name begin with K is astounding... Kirara, Komachi, Katushiro, Kyuzo, Kambei, Kikuchiyo, etc. etc. I also watched episodes 5-6 yesterday and this series does not fail to impress me. It's maintained it's high quality throughout the first 6 episodes and I wouldn't be surprised if it keeps me captivated throughout the entire run of the series.
As fir Kikuchiyo's "death"... I honestly don't think he is dead :/... Just yet atleast. I wouldn't be surprised if he made a return later on in the series. He is a machine samurai after all and if he can survive getting his head cut off I think he can manage with a dinky old train wreck.
Episode 5 was really entertaining because we got to see Kambei fight Hyugo
during the fight o_O... Did Kambei really grab Hyugo's... err balls .__-... For those of you have scene the episode rewatch it and you'll see what I mean
, but I also think Heihachi is a good balance to the rest of the characters in that he's not an expert swordsmen or anything of the sort but more of a thoughtful tactition. Meh... I can't wait for Kyuzo and Kambei to meet again I think an interesting relationship will develop between those two.
 18. I believe
Fuu's father just left, and Fuu's mother died a year ago...
... But I was wondering exactly why are they looking for the Sunflower Samurai again o_O... Did they even talk about why yet? Or am I just getting ahead of myself :p. I think it's very possible that the Sunflower Samurai man could be Fuu's father, hence the fact he left and Fuu probably wants to figure out why... >_>' meh that's always one possibility.
 19. The waiting has killed me but after the long overdue releases of Akeep's and ANBU's version of episodes 3 & 4 (and putting up with horrendous bittorrent download speeds!) I finally watched episodes 3 and 4 of Samurai 7. What I can say so far is... Schw33337~!! This series is definatly better than Samurai Champloo as not only does it have stylish fight but it has a lot of substance and beautiful pacing which makes it so there is never a dull moment. Kyuzo is a pretty interesting character, while his hair somewhat turns me away from his character design his somewhat evil persona make him a easily likeable character and the fact that he was able to fight on par with Kambei-sama deserves major proprs as well. As for Kambei saying he could not beat Kyuzo... I have to disagree with Dan Rugh. If you look at the age differences between Kyuzo and Kambei, Kambei is definatly much older and slower than Kyuzo. While he's probably the more intelligent and creative fighter he doesn't have the speed or stamina to keep up with Kyuzo (or atleast that's my take on the character comparison ).
 20.
yeah i love bebop... ive been hearing people raviung about champloo, bebop had funny scenes, but if this is funnier it must be worth a look.
Before I go on let me give you m4d pr0pz 4 ure spam natetron46. Basically what i'm getting at is if you don't have anything relevant to post about the topic I suggest not posting in the thread at all. Just some friendly advice to keep in mind for your future posts... ... Now as I was going to say >_>... While I have been in limbo for the past couple of days due to various other real life activities I finally got around to watching episode 6 of Samurai Champloo. While the
gay
dutchman was a nice comedic touch to the series, and overall I thought the episode was pretty funny in itself. Atleast up until this point I can say that Samurai Champloo is a very hyped up anime and has yet to live up to all the hype that was created before it was released. While I am very much enjoying this anime, the episodic nature of it is something that gets on my nerves from time to time (which is part of the reason why i'm not a big Cowboy Bebop fan). Luckily this is usually made up for by the fact that Samurai Champloo is less serious and more fun and games than Cowboy Bebop was. Meh more battles >_>'... That's what the series needs right about now... I also found it pretty hillarious how after eating all the food from the food contest Fuu's appearance was actually changed so that it looked fat, instead of her normal skinny self .
 21. Hehe thanks :'] I think we should do this again sometime but possibly get more active people -_-. I'm sure everyone has something going on because it's summer, but I find it a little hard to believe that only two of us went the distance with this.
 22. x__X oh man I completly forgot about this; here's a random animation I created using the four images ---> http://img45.exs.cx/my.php?loc=img45&image=Round3.gif
 23. Ah the horror! The Gundam SEED thread has died! Well why don't I revive the thread with some juicy new Gundam SEED gossip... Or should I say Gundam SEED 2 :p Yes it is more or less official now, a sequel to the fan favorite Gundam SEED is in the works and is scheduled for a October 2004 release. The name of the series...? "Gundam SEED: Destiny" pretty spiffy name ay? While I won't give away too much of the plot because it brings up references to certain returning characters from Gundam SEED and I know your all just dieing to see who's going to die and who's going to live in typical Gundam fashion at the end of Gundam SEED... I will say that I for one am quite pleased with this decesion to continue the story of Gundam SEED, for if there was one thing in the original series which I hated the mos it was the fact that the series ended too abruptly and left us with too many questions (even the 5-minuted add-on to Gundam SEED still wasn't able to close the void which the ending of the series left =/). So atleast in my opinion Gundam SEED: Destiny is a great way to add on to a good series and improve upon the various flaws that were present in Gundam SEED. The few tidbits which I will tell you about Destiny, which don't contain any spoilers are that the series takes place 1 year after Gundam SEED, and is supposedly going to be modeled in a similar way to Z-Gundam! (Note for those not into Gundam, Z-Gundam is often considered the greatest Gundam Series of all time due to it's dark tone and nature, while I personally have only seen half of the series from what I saw I agree with that general assumption and it will be interesting to see if Gundam SEED: Destiny is able to create a similar dark atmosphere as was present in Z-Gundam or if it just re-uses and alters parts of the storline (like Gundam SEED did with the orignal Gundam Series)). There are various scans for the series that are floating around on the internet and for those interested I reccomend heading over to GundamPLUS.net and viewing the scans there. *However be aware of any "spoilers"* (just don't read the second news post on the website -_-).
 24.
Its sort of strange though. So far we haven't even been judged on graphics considering people keep dropping out. Hopefully not this round though. 0_o
That is pretty f00k3d up, afterall I did do a pretty wicked job on my Spider-Man 2 poster ... Using this image as the background looks to be pretty pain in the *** if you ask me o_O... It's so damn small...
 25. "Oh yey"... You know i'm not really into purchasing anime I guess i'm just a fansub whore, if a series is licensed I usually continue downloading it anyway *Oh no the horror smack me now*. Yet for whatever reason i'm actually excited about a few of these licensed series and I have already made plans to purchase atleast two of them. The two series being Samurai Champloo and Area 88 TV... I'm kind of surprised that Kenran Butou Sai was licensed though o_O; it must be pulling the ratings in Japan, but honestly in my mind the series has hit a low point and is definatly getting on my nerves. Nothing really dramatic, cliche, or not, has occured in the series since the first few episodes and i've really begun to lose interest in the anime so deep down I guess in a way the licensing of Kenran Butou Sai comes at an ideal time for me, as now I don't have a reason to download the series and will manage to survive through my current harddrive crisis :p With all that said though if Kenran Butou Sai does begin to pick up some steam at the end of it's initial run and receives some decent reviews I could possibly look into the DVDs when they're released state side. On a side note under Hideki-Motosuwa's post and under Bandi Entertainment the series "Mars Daybreaker" is listed and two series down "Kenran Butou Sai" is listed... I believe that was a typo or misprint on the press's fault as isn't the full name of "Kenran Butou Sai", "Kenran Butou Sai the Mars Daybreaker" o_O??? I just thought i'd point that out...
