1. And I quote...
Competitors Left: Haze Shippo Hittokiri Zero Hatake

That's it. Simple as that. You have 'til July 4th to produce this. Good luck!
*Looks at thread* *Looks at calender* Today is June 5th, and only three of the four competitors who made it to the second round posted images... Stupid Hatake! j/k... Well whatever i'm just posting here to make sure that Dragon Warrior hasn't forgotten about his little experimental contest which hasn't exactly gone the way that was planned .
2. Actually if I were to choose one :]... I'd use the first one. The beam saber in the second signature just looks a little choppy and the color scheme in the first signature is just more original where as the color scheme in the second signature is used quite commonly .
3.
i dont think that there is any better one coz all of them are nice to see and draw. each and every animae and non animae has its own specialties like animae the way they draw the eyes are amazing and all animae cartoons have differnt ways to draw the eyes. the non animae cartoons all have the same eyes but they make it 3D . by one way the western people are cheating by using computer animation but on the other hand they are also clever enough to use techonlogy to help them make cartoons .eastern people are talented in drawing cartoons free hand without using techonolgy but they are not talented in using the computer.
My eyes! My eyes! My friggen eyes!!! I'm sorry... But i'm not sure how else to explain what I just read... Basically i'd have to disagree with what Funky Girl said; when were talking about Eastern Animation were usually referring primarily to Japan and Korea. In terms of "not being talented in using the computer" that makes no sense, Japan is at the forefront of the technological world how can they not be talented with computers? (I'm not even sure if talented is the word i'd use o_O...) Most anime (yes anime not "animae") nowadays is made with some sort of computer aid, the majority of animated shows are not produced completly free hand anymore because that would be too costly and time consuming. Now back on topic >_>'... To be honest, even before I was an anime fan I never enjoyed the majority of western animated T.V. series out there. It really had nothing to do with the animation style it was just the substance and plot in most western T.V. shows which always (and still does) annoyed me. Shows like Batman for example were just too episodic and the hero (more or less) always appeared untouchable. Everything was also so predictable that the show lost half of the fun right there. On the other hand i'm not all anti-western animation ... There's a tiny bit of me that thoroughly enjoys comedies/parodies such as South Park, and The Simpsons. But once again I can name a variety of other "comedic" T.V. shows produced in the west that just hurt my head to even think about, to name a few: Pinky and the Brain, Rugrats (I always hated this show), Ed Ed and Eddy, Scooby Doo, etc. As for eastern animation... If you take it as a whole you'll find that, yes, there are many animes with untouchable heroes and predictable plot lines. But you'll also find that on a whole (or atleast numerically) there are more thought-provoking series (in the East than in the West), that manage to combine action, suspense, etc. with a non-episodic plot-line and that don't reuse the same cliche and trademark one-liners and bad guy of the week forumla. This may be in part because of the different target audiences (Western animation generally targets small children or young adolescents while Eastern animation targets a variety of age groups), but all in all western animation has always failed to impress me the same way that eastern animation has. --- One reasn why I may find eastern animation as more original is because it's foreign, thus it's different for me. I'm also not constantly surrounded and exposed to many of these cliche stereotypes that are apparent in western animation so in actuality while I may see something in an eastern based animation to be original for all I know it could be a cliche type thing in the east. That still doesn't change my stance though >_>' I enjoy watching anime and about the only non-comedic western animated series I have enjoyed watching are (the old) GI Joes and Ninja Turtles.
4. While browsing through my local T.V. time ~ program description thingy that we get every week I was looking over the Cartoon Network line-up and I saw a show called "Rave Master". On some other forums I post at people have also been talking about how great the show is, so my guess is that it has been airing for some time now  I'm not 100% sure though >_>...
5. You know what Shippo? I actually found this to be easier than the first round of the contest ^_^'. While at first glance it may look like I didn't do too much with my entry there were actually a variety of subtle things that were done to the two images in order to make them blend right and make the poster look movie-like. All in all making the poster was actually quite fun and i'm pretty pleased with the results of my "1337ness" (j/k). *Note I was actually done with this yesterday I just could never post it because I was busy setting up my new computer >_>'* Now that I think about it if any of you can set your monitors to a screen resolution higher than 1024x768 I reccomend you look at my poster like that >_
6. I was originally going to wait for everyone else to post their signatures and avatars and then post mine, but because I might not get on the computer again until tomorrow I figured i'd just post my sig. and avatar now. Well here they are the Ayumi Hamasaki tandem *both images have white borders* ---> Avatar Signature Short Explanation = I figured everyone (or almost everyone) was going to do an anime or gaming related signature and avatar so I made something which is a little deviation from my norms and made a signature and avatar of the Jpop star Ayumi Hamasaki. *All the faded text in the signature relates to Ayu in one way or another and once again as in most of my sigs much of the text was put there for aesthetic purposes and not necessarily to be read.
7. I just saw episode 3 (AnimeONE baby! I hope they don't take very long to translate episode 4...), and w00t w00t the scene with Jinn dressed as a girl... Was errr... interesting to say the least. Watching him "play" the shamisen was pretty funny too. I'm really looking forward to seeing the conclusion of the battle between Jinn and Mugen (whether they really battle at all that is ).
8. I wasn't sure where else to put this; but it's basically a animation of President Bush I made yesterday... I was searching for a picture of Bush to create my Counter-Strike spray with but since I hit a new level of boredom after I found the picture I was going to use I created this little do-hicky instead. Yes and for those of you wondering this should basically sum up my opinions on bush and the war in Iraq :p *I'll just post the URL instead of attaching the image >_>' if the URL doesn't work will someone please tell me so I can re-upload the image -_-* An Interview with George
9. I was planning on just watching over this graphic contest, but the ignorance of Xbebop and his post are going to have to require me to take up the boxing gloves once again. - On a side note I hope this is not too late Dragon Warrior - ----> Airbrushed Planet = Attachment
10. I tried watching the first episode of this series yesterday but it hurt... I had to try to force myself to keep watching this series. Well to be honest I didn't even watch the entire first episode I just stopped that's how painful the series was becoming. The plot and what not just did not seem the least bit motivating. After I pump myself up on caffine again I'll probably force myself to sit through the first couple of episodes but if I don't like the series anymore then i'm not sure what i'm going to do (it's kind of odd actually... now that I think about it the animation or music wasn't bad, characters were somewhat bland :/ but for whatever reason I wasn't enjoying this series from what I saw of the first episode... maybe it was just the mood I was in >_>' or it could be that Naruto Ball Z is reverting me back into a Dragonball Z fan =X).
11. All you Champlooigans will be happy to know that I did a little research and found out some things about "Champloo". While I can't say how accurate this translation is suupposedly "Champloo" is an Okinawan word that means "to change/mix things up" it's usually used in reference to food but when you stop and think about it in the case of Samurai Champloo "Champloo" fits the series perfectly as it's a beautiful mix of hip-hop with samurais. From the music to the characters fighting styles everything is all champlooed up (yeah I probably didn't use Champloo right in that sentence but oh well ^_^). Another interesting thing I found was that Mugen's fighting style is called "Champloo" (once again a fan translation from the official site so i'm not sure how accurate it is), so that would partly explain why his fighting style is all over the place and knows no boundaries.
12. :/ Well i've been on a Samurai Champloo drought waiting for episode 3 from AnimeONE... Can anyone confirm for me whether or not AnimeONE has dropped the sub/whether they have gone only IRC now? From the subs I downloaded AnimeONE seemed to have the best (text was nice and big real easy on the eyes!) but if they're gone from Samurai Champloo I might end up reverting back to AnimeForever .
13. Ahhhhh so much to comment on ... So i'll just pick a few of your pieces I like the best :p Sexah Girl: :]... I think you really chose a good pose for this image tiz unique, and sexah  Now a days i'm big into the yellow-blue color scheme as well so that's another big plus, however I think the extending finger with the fingernail looks somewhat odd x_X... I think you should also have made more of the other fingers visible =O. Other than that, this is probably my favorite piece of yours. Power Boy: Um nice pants o_O... Once again I like your shirt design and color scheme, I really wish I could put in wrinkles such as you do; I've never been able to make it look right in either my PC or pencil drawings. As for the books the only problem I see with them is that they're somewhat leaning too far forward and could have been positioned further down (atleast that's how i'd hold my books if they weren't all crammed into my gym bag with my smellah soccer equpiment ^_^''). Naruto: =/ with this image I think you made Naruto look a little too old and buff. Hmmm... maybe it's just odd seeing him without his orange jump-suit but overall I think the drawing could use some work... (Possibly a different facial position? It looks weird how he's looking off at nothing...).
14. The big pixel font and outer glow/aura is taking away from the rest of the signature, I reccomend changing the font + making the font smaller, as well as changing or removing the outer glow around the text. To the extreme right and left of the background there is also a pale tanish color i'd change that color to another shade of blue as it kind of stands out and doesn't quite fit the color scheme well. The cropping of the image is good, but just change the text and work on improving the background. As for the avatar once again I don't like the text, and I think you should switch the position of the stock image and the text (text on right, image on left). I'm not sure if I like the animation either =/... AHHHH! The font, the font, the font -_-. Along with changing the font I reccomend you switch the position of the image and text again otherwise Sasuke will get covered up by peoples desktop icons. While I in particular like the swirly light blueish chaotic part of the background there seems to be some random purpleish clouds that make everything look blurry. Also instead of purple as a background go blue and then mix in some purple if you feel like it.
15. I have't posted anything here in ages, partly because I don't believe i've made anything worthwhile and partly because up until last week I was getting killed with homework and final projects. But now that school is over I present to you FuuJinMugen! o_O impressed yet? This image right here is basically a rough layout for a Samurai Champloo shrine (I will most likely start on some free host :P) named "FuuJinMugen". The name of the website comes from the name of the three main characters in Samurai Champloo Fuu, Jin, and Mugen. So I basically just slapped all their names together and wall-ah this is what I got. The layout is meant to be small so that you don't have to scroll down to view more content/more of the layout. I'm not sure how well this will work but I honestly don't feel like extending the layout anymore. The only other thing that I should note is that the text reading Samurai Champloo and the white kanji (?) around it is the official Samurai Champloo logo I just slapped on the part that reads "FuuJinMugen". Anyway comments and constructive criticism por favor . (I'm also still debating as to whether the navigation should go in the tiny red bar or if I should add buttons/boxes to the right of the layout for each individual section). edit: URL = ---> Samurai Champloo Layout: FUUjinMUGEN WIP edit 2: incase the other url wasn't working ---> http://img35.imageshack.us/my.php?loc=img35&image=SamuraiChamplooLayout.jpg
16. I just watched episode two of this series and woo.. Speaking of CG anyone see that grass? Yes I kid you not but I was amazingly impressed by that one short transition scene of CG grass . The second episode of this series immediatly picks up where the last one left off and manages to keep its boat load of drama intact while throwing in a bunch of unique and action packed fight scenes. One of the best part about the entire fight scenes were instead of having a bunch of super samurais who can do anything (with the exception of Kambei-san!), we see that our main characters as good as they are still aren't good enough to take on waves of enemies in a heavily outnumbered battle. It kind of makes you wonder, will seven samurais really be enough to save a village from the bandits? :p Anyway great, great series definatly if not on par than above Samurai Champloo. The numerous character designs are also something as I stated before that I really like. Katushiro's cloak is a nice addition to his unique character design for while it sort of clashes with his orange and black it is never the less a nice touch. Also is there some hidden meaning behind the close up of Kambei's sword in the end o_O? 8/10 odds i'm saying yes :]
17. I watched the first episode of this series (AKeep & ANBU) and wow... I don't believe it, two of my favorite genres; Giant robots and samurais all rolled into one nice little bundle... The series really seems like it's going to be a good one and the character designs are diverse enough that everything seems so fresh and new. While i'll admit a little itty bitty Samurai laying the smack down on giant robotic samurais and their warships is a little dramatic it was amazingly pulled off pretty well. From the opening fight scene to the rice spilling incident this first episode had me captivated the whole way through, with a nice mix of action and drama this series is my cup'o tea (the series seems to be low on pointless humor as well and that is a major plus in my opinion, too many anime series now a days try to add in elements of humour when there really is no reason to do so).
18.
You liked it better when the URLs didn't work? Fine. Can a moderator delete this thread? Frankly, I'm not interested in two people flaming me.
It's called constructive criticism, I didn't say anything towards you I just commented on your "artwork". Since your only twelve i'll take it you haven't been into the graphics community too long so basically let me put it this was: not everyone is going to be all happy jolly, love your artwork, and say nice and spiffy things about what you create. It's quite the contrary really ask some of the better graphic designers out there and they'll tell you the same thing. So don't take any offense to what either Haze or I said, just use what we said to help you improve. The truth of the matter regarding the banners is that you didn't do that much to the banners themselves and just in general as well as in MY opinion I don't like the banners that much (*the banners, not you, the banners...*)
19. I liked them better when the url did not work... Let me put it this way... Ugly bevel, ugly typography, with random images slapped on . You obviously aren't using any worthwhile program to create your banners my advice to you is to in one way or another upgrade to a better program so you can atleast create something that doesn't hurt people's eyes x_X. 1st Banner Comments: Odd image placement/that particular image looks odd the way you used it, odd text placement (looks like it was randomly slapped on). Bland green ackground clashes badly with the pure black border... Hmm... Advice = Try maintaining a color scheme throughout the banner instead of choosing random colors to make the banner more colorful. Also I believe with that particular stock image you shouldn't have shrunk it that much and instead of trying to fit the entire image into the signature you should have either focused on fitting one of the two character into the banner. 2nd Banner Comments: The beveled border is what really deters me from this particular banner. Aside from that though it's just a stock image with a border o_O... Oh yes the banner could also do without the duplicated character with the purple hair who you tried to fade into the banner. Using the same character from the same stock image twice in the same banner is usually a bad idea (unless say one was faded out or something like that), just keep that in mind for the future. 3rd Banner Comments: Once again reoccuring problems = stick with a color scheme not random colors. Bevel border = bad looking. Text = Hard to read and placement is questionable. The other problem I see with this banner is how there's no transition between the two stock image it's blatantly obvious that those two stock images were just placed one on top of another =/. Also correct me if i'm wrong but I detect a hint of lens flare in the upper right corner o_O? While the lens flare is a flashy feature i'll be straight out honest and tell you 90% of the time when it's used the image is already bad because of that. Most people don't know how to use lens flares properly and have no understanding of light direction. 4th Banner Comments: I'm saved! Errr I mean... The url isn't working so you might want to fix that ^_^''. 5th Banner Comments: *sigh* Okay... No bevel border = good. But the text color and placement could all drastically be improved on. Also i'd reccomend adding a white/off-white border to the image. My only other complaint is that the stock image itself is bad quality and you didn't do much to the image itself. Okay to sum this all up... *drum roll please* If your not using Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Paintshop Pro, or another program similar to one of those I reccomend you go out and buy one of those (if your going to download i'd say try Photoshop, if you plan on buying you should go with Paintshop Pro). Secondly take more times thinking things through and working on one banner instead of multiple banners. When choosing what color to make your text and borders look at the stock image you are using. Choose colors that will not blend in with the image but will not clash with the image either! I hope that all of that will be of some help to you and don't take anything too personally because I was just stating my o_-
20. I just watched episode 2 of Samurai Champloo and once again there was some really good stuff in this episode. While the episode did bring back memories of Rurouni Kenshin in regards to the big ugly "monster" character, who isn't really a monster but is just misunderstood *cough* *cough* Fuji *cough* Looking past that I can definatly say i'm going to like this series no matter what. Mugen's fighting style is just plain pimp
That fact that Mugen actually went through with killing Haku (Haku? Eh it was something like that...) in the end was also something I didn't quite expect, although I guess it shows you how Mugen, Fuu, and Jin really aren't a team and don't really have any respect for one another.
All and all this is just one of those series where even if the plot doesn't get anywhere the fight scenes will always keep you entertained. *Waits impatiently for episode three to be released* On a side note I switched over to Anime-One for my Samurai Champloo subs >_>'
21. GRAN Turismo 4 looks amazing. I recently got into the GT 3 A-SPEC mood again and that game is still fun after all this time. While i'm not sure if i'm going to get a network adapter and all I definatly do plan on buying this game the graphics are mind boggling and the races seem to be pretty intense. (I'm kinda of dissapointed that the creators left out any sort of car damage though =/, however the new system where there's a penalty for bumping into other cars is a nice addition!). Hmmm... as for GT3 experiences ^_^'... This one actually occured yesterday... I was playing one of the first rally tracks really just to hone in on my drifting skills. So blah blah i'm playing it on hard mode each lap i'm gradually increasing my lead over the Impreza behind me (I was driving in a Lan EVO I forget what model x_X)... Then comes the finish line. I slam on the emergency brakes and was planning on spinning in a circle (like a moving donut) all the way across the finish line... Guess what? I cross the finish line and look up for a minute... I still have one more lap to go! Gahhh it was so aggrivating but since I was torching my opponent he still never caught up to me !
22. "Haro, haro"
I could definitely do without her bright pink.... bouncy thing,
errr... They're called Haros! Hence the fact that's all they really say . Lacus is really an interesting character she's not one of my favorites, but she seems quite oblivious to the war even when she's right in the thick of things. Which is quite the contrary to the whiney and annoying Flay and on the relationship between coordinators and humans. While luckily for you Dagger, SEED doesn't concentrate on romance I'm not sure I exactly agree about the "tender emotions" part. In a way SEED does center around emotions, as time and time again we see how Kira and Athrun are torn apart from having to fight against one another. Okay I admit it all does seem a litte exaggerated but I guess you win some you lose some :p
23. First of all make sure that the music notes are on their own layer in photoshop. A quick way to to this is to open the image in photoshop then select the "magic wand" tool. Click and select all the black music notes (ctrl + click on each music note) then cut and paste them onto a new layer. For beveling them you could use the bevel & emboss filter but also (if your running Photoshop 7.0 or higher) you could right click on the music notes layer in the layers window, go to the blending options and use the bevel features in there. (Instead of cutting and pasting the music notes you could also make a new layer beneath the notes then use the magic wand tool to select the white space around the notes and simply press delete).
24. Daigunder? This is the horribly animated anime that airs on ABC Family correct? I personally watched an episode of this series then found myself in complete shock of how badly done the anime was. The animation isn't really that hot, the VA's are the same recycled garbage we get for all mainstream anime, the show is purely episodic and the same moves and what not are used to end each "battle", and last but not least the themes and thought processes that the anime trys to present are all too cliché (friendship blah blah...). Maybe part of the reason why I detest this anime (besides the fact that it is horribly done) is because it's definatly aimed at younger kids, no guts no glory eh?
25. The final episode of Initial D Second Stage was pretty moving, the series ends without filling in all the loose "ends" (I guess Initial D isn't really done now that 4th stage is being released) but rather than making the series seem incomplete your just left with the feeling of what's going to happen to so and so? And will he ever meet her again? etc. etc. (No spoilers for those of you still watching the series ^_^). Another good final episode(s) came in the form of Gundam SEED. As is the case in all gundam series, throughout the course of the series certain characters that you come to love end up dieing *boo hoo*... But lets just say in Gundam SEED some characters end up dieing in a more heroic and memorable way than others (once again I won't name anyone or wrap the names in spoiler tabs for those of you who are already pissed because of what I stated above ). As for what is probably the most memorable episode of any anime I have seen it would have to have been the second part/episode of the Rurouni Kenshin Seisouhen OVA
what can be more memorable than the tragic death of the legendary manslayer Himura Kenshin in the arms of his wife Karou?
. Hell Tsukiohen had a pretty memorable ending too (
with Tomoe dieing and all :P
. Hmmm... let's see... Last thing i'll name for today is episode 25 of Full Metal Alchemist. I was blown away with what happened, I definatly never saw what happend coming and even now find what occurred to be pretty surprising
Killing off Hughes like that?!?!? Say it isn't so! Hughes was one of the characters who atleast I felt as a viewer I had the most attachment to, his death also came as a shock because he was portrayed as a fun loving guy who just loved his daughter and wife. What a way to go too at the hands of a homunculus...
.
