  1. Well, I must give many thanks to Evolved_Dragon for replying so quickly at my request since no one ever does. ¬_¬ Well, I made one and a half banners today... both in greyscale. The one is the picture at the entrance page of some Naruto website. I liked it so much that I stole it, changed the size, and edited a bit. The other is all by me. :) [img]http://kangarugh.250free.com/kakashi_sharingan.jpg[/img] [img]http://kangarugh.250free.com/naruto_trio.jpg[/img] The thing to marvel at is that the little arrow was created by yours truly. It is the star of the show, obviously. ;)
  2. [quote]I was also quite dissapointed with the FLCL manga's animation wasn't that great, it was a real let down.[/quote] I could imagine anyone being disappointed by the animation of a static image... Is this what you were talking about? [img]http://store5.yimg.com/I/animenation_1764_1048708008[/img] I think I've heard of it before, but never saw what it looked like.
  3. It looks great. You can really see the upside-down cross over his eye now and it doesn't look like a bandage anymore. haha Where did the flame coming from his finger go?
  4. [quote]Let's ignore the thousands of others that were there with him though.[/quote] Jeez, no need to get snarky Sem. :p The thread's about P. Diddy and the race, so we're discussing P. Diddy and the race. It's as simple as that.
  5. Here's the story from CBS News: [size=1][quote][b][u]P. Diddy Did It: Finishes Marathon[/b][/u] After 26.2 miles, maybe his new nickname should be Tough Daddy. Running on a bum right knee and after just two months of training, hip-hop entrepreneur Sean "P. Diddy" Combs completed the grueling New York City Marathon on Sunday and raised $2 million for children ? double what he had planned. "Never in my life have I ever experienced anything as crazy as this," said Combs, who walked gingerly to the podium at a news conference after the race. "It was a beautiful experience." Combs' official race time was 4:14:54, or just under twice the time of winning runner Martin Lel of Kenya, who won in 2:10.30. It was Lel's first marathon win. Women's division winner Margaret Okayo shattered the course record she set in 2001 by nearly two minutes, at 2:22:31. The top American man was Matt Downin, the former New Hampshire runner who starred at the University of Wisconsin, in 17th place in 2:18:48. The best U.S. woman was Sylvia Mosqueda of Los Angeles in 10th place at 2:33:11. The producer-rapper, formerly known as Puff Daddy and Puffy, said he had raised $2 million since announcing in September that he would run. The money will be divided among two children's charities and New York City public schools. Combs ran in sunglasses, his hair in a closely cropped Mohawk and an "I Heart New York" breathing strip across his nose. He was accompanied by police officers and at least one of his employees. He ran into some trouble as the race went on, afflicted by cramps that caused him to walk a few steps. "I definitely wanted to stop," Combs said. "This is definitely a life-changing experience for me because I did not stop." Among his donors: Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who pitched in $10,000; rapper Jay-Z, who gave $25,000; and gossip-column regulars Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez, who gave a combined $78,000. Combs, running his first marathon, cut himself a difficult challenge by deciding eight weeks ago to enter the race. He shed about 15 pounds in training and developed severe tendinitis in his right knee. Asked whether he would be back next year, Combs shook his head and smiled: "No, no, no, no, no." But he brushed off suggestions he was only out for personal gain: "Twenty-six miles isn't a publicity stunt." The race, sponsored by financial services company ING, starts on Staten Island and winds through all five New York City boroughs, finishing at Tavern on the Green restaurant in Manhattan's Central Park. Combs was the most publicized entrant in a marathon of more than 30,000, but others were running for their own reasons, or to make their own statements. [/quote][/size] The mohawk in all it's glory:  [img]http://www.otakuboards.com/attachment.php?s=&postid=511467[/img]
  6. [QUOTE][i]Originally posted by sweetreyes [/i] [B]Not bad at all for a rapper/ CEO/ designer/ producer and all those other things he happens to be.[/B][/QUOTE] Does that include shooter/ crime scene fleer/ blamer on Shyne-er? Haha. Well I honestly didn't know anything/care about him running a marathon. The last bit of info I heard about Sir Diddy was that he has a stupid looking mohawk now. And him being able to run a marathon is not shocking to me. It's not like we're tallking about Notorious B.I.G. or someone... P. Diddy is in shape.
  7. Uh yeah... I wish they never would have opened for them. I hate Good Charlotte and now all their TRL-watching fans are gonna like Something Corporate. [sarcasm]Yay for that![/sarcasm]
  8. No way!!! That is only the fan-fiction junk. I would never watch it if it had any signs of yaoi. The main characters are all VERY straight, they're just really close to each other. If you were to watch one episode of Saiyuki, you'd know right away that they are definitely not gay.
  9. The story is (taken from the back of the first DVD and tweaked a bit by yours truly)... Once, demons and man lived together in harmony. But when a band of rogue demonic forces sought to resurrect a diabolical monster (Gyumaoh), dark spiritual energy began to cover the land-and the demons decided mankind was no longer friend, but food. Now, it's up to a renegade priest (Sanzo), a monkey king (Goku), a lecherous water sprite (Gojyo), and a sympathetic demon(Hakkai) to stop the resurrection and return harmony to the dangerous land. There you have it. I've seen up to episode 7 now that my second volume arrived. I also received volume 4 today, but not 3 yet. :) [img]http://kangarugh.250free.com/saiyuki-1-4.jpg[/img]
  10. Hey! It's the Aussie! I was wondering what happenend to you. Haha Welp, the banner and avatar are ok. That's the one kid from Candidate for Goddess, right? I'm sure you'll get back in the swing of things soon. :p Oh! and sign up for myOtaku too.
  11. Everything he did is explained clearly in his post. Maybe reading it would help. :nope:
  12. Saosin avatar for Miss Kaola Su. [img]http://www.otakuboards.com/attachment.php?s=&postid=510050[/img] Kaola, tell me if you like it cuz I can make a new one.
  13. Well... I couldn't even tell what it was until a couple seconds later. It's hard to see either picture because they are both semi-transparent and overlapping. I'd suggest making the banner bigger so you can fit both pictures in without them overlapping so much.
  14. That's cool that you met them. It's even cooler that you are meeting them again. Can I come too? [i][size=1]Helpful Hint: Don't double post. Use the Edit button. :)[/i][/size]
  15. The new Something Corporate CD came out last week and I got it a few days ago. This album is not as "fun" as [u]Leaving Through the Window[/u] was, but all the songs are very good. By this I mean that there are no [i]If You See Jordan[/i] or [i]Drunk Girl[/i] types of tracks this time around which I wasn't really fond of in the first place. My favorite songs on it are [i]As You Sleep, Me and the Moon, Ruthless, She Paints Me Blue[/i], and my most favorite, [i]21 and Invincible.[/i] This is definitely a solid release from Something Corporate. [size=1]1. As You Sleep 2. Space 3. Down 4. Only Ashes 5. Me and the Moon 6. The Runaway 7. Ruthless 8. She Paints Me Blue 9. Break Myself 10. I Won't Make You 11. 21 and Invincible 12. Miss America[/size] If you aren't familiar with Something Corporate, they are a piano-driven pop punk/rock band, I suppose. The songs are beautiful and Andrew Howell's voice goes great with the piano and guitar mixture. SoCo is one of my favorite bands and this new album just confirms that for me. Anyone else hear it yet?
  16. Hmmm There is a lot wrong with this one. First off, the picture of Cloud is blurry and very poorly cropped. There are steps going down his right side. Second, the text and background clash and actually hurt my eyes when I focus on the text alone. The background is very boring as well. I recommend not using the curved line tool because they are very jagged and are a bad way to fill up the empty space. I suggest (again) that you add borders to your banners. All is not lost, however. Keep working and spend a lot of time on a banner when you are working in Paint. It [i]is[/i] possible to make a good Paint banner.
  17. [QUOTE][i]Originally posted by Dagger IX1 [/i] [B]... action or comedy?[/B][/QUOTE] Well, I've only seen 4 episodes so far and in my opinion it's more of an action show, I'd say. There is also a good mix of comedy in there, especially between Gojyo and Goku. I will warn you, though. There is a lot of adult language in Saiyuki. I've heard Son Goku and/or Gojyo say the following green words: the S word, the A word, both B words, D-head, Damn, etc... Also, Gojyo is quite the ladies' man and often refers to sexual situations. HAHA! It's funny, though. If all of this is cool with you, pick up (at least) the first volume for sure.
  18. I've been following this game ever since it was announced. I want to get it sooo bad, but I might have to put it as second most anticipated, behind [i]Mario Kart: Double Dash!![/i], though. I used to have the old Prince of Persia for Gameboy when I was little and I really liked it, but I don't remember ever getting past the first level. Ya know, you go ALL that way to get the sword, backtrack to the guard's room, die, and repeat. Don't forget all the "falls to your doom" on the way to get the sword and back. I still seemed to love the game even though i was so bad at it.... and I've been a fan ever since. :) So yes, I will definitely be getting this game sometime after it comes out. I've also been eyeing up [i]Spinx and the Shadow of Set[/i] (or whatever that stupid name they changed it to is).
  19. Thanks a lot, Desbreko, for the advice. :) The quote doesn't delete itself now that it is naked (no quotations). On the other hand, I tried to do the image tag without quotations ([size=1][i] instead of [/i][/size]) and it doesn't work. I just left it out entirely.
  20. I love this picture of Sanzo Genjo of Saiyuki... so I animated it into a banner. Let it load through once before watching it... it gets a lot smoother. :) [img]http://kangarugh.250free.com/sanzo_gunblast.gif[/img] One question before I go: Why doesn't anyone ever post in my thread? It's the same people every time besides the occasional newbie.
  21. This is just a small problem, but I think it's important enough to post about. Whenever I change something in my Profile, it will delete something else. For instance, I added in a few of my favorite anime and when I went back to "My Site", I found that it deleted the tag for a picture I had farther down in the profile. Another example is when I used to have something entered under "Quote". Anytime I would go into "Edit Profile", it would delete my entry. Is there a bug in the programming that causes this?
  22. I took a Pottery class in 10th grade and I loved it. My favorite class in all of high school by far. Some of the projects we had to do were stupid but others like the animal one were so fun. I made an armadillo (it looked great, btw) that I did a really cool effect on with the glazes. First, I put two coats of grey, let them dry, then put one coat of brown over top of it. When it came out of the kiln, there was this really cool marble effect with the brown and grey. I was expecting the colors to mix, but got much better results just by experimenting. :) If I had my pottery work here at school, I would take a picture of everything and post it, but it's all at home. :( [size=1][i]Happy 400 posts![/i][/size]
  23. Sha Gojyo - THE coolest character in Saiyuki. That is why he is the star of my banner. In the back are Goku, Hakkai, and Sanzo. [img]http://www.otakuboards.com/attachment.php?s=&postid=508054[/img]
  24. Welp, the character art always looked really cool to me (see picture below). Then after I decided that I loved the art, I read a little about the story and found out that it is based on the ancient Chinese legend "The Monkey King" aka "Journey to the West". This is the same story that Dragonball had VERY small ties to. Saiyuki follows the legend more closely. Like Dragonball, there is a monkey boy named Son Goku who likes to eat. [img]http://toonix.new21.net/comic/fruit/saiyuki.jpg[/img] [size=1][i]From Left: Cho Hakkai (with his dragon Hakuryuu), Sanzo Genjo, Sha Gojyo, and Son Goku. My favorite is Gojyo. :)[/i][/size] I recommend this to anyone who like anime with demon-slaying and/or adventuring such as InuYasha, Yu Yu Hakusho, or Fushigi Yuugi.
  25. I've been seeing pictures from this anime (Saiyuki) and reading a little about it here and there for a while now. I thought it looked pretty good so I bought volumes 1, 2, and 4 on eBay. It probably would've been smarter to wait for the first one to get here before buying two more, but I had a good feeling about this anime. :) So, the first volume finally arrived today and I've watched the first 2 episodes out of the 5 that are on the DVD. I must say that I'm very happy that I bought it! Has anyone else ever taken a chance on an anime? What was the outcome?
