Who invented the first pie? I really want to go back in time and thank him with all my heart.'
Yes, there would be much thanks to the creator of teh uber pie. Historians have recorded that the roots of pie can loosely be traced back to the ancient Egyptians. The bakers to the pharaohs incorporated nuts, honey, and fruits in bread dough, a primitive form of pastry. Drawings of this can be found etched on the tomb walls of Ramses II, located in the Valley of the Kings. King Ramses II was the third pharoh in the nineteenth dynasty. He ruled from 1304 to 1237 B.C. After years of the tombe being looted and weathered, great amounts of effort are in progress with the hope of returning the tomb to a somewhat presentable stage. Historians believe that the Greeks actually originated pie pastry. The pies during this period were made by a flour-water paste wrapped around meat; this served to cook the meat and seal in the juices. The Romans, sampling the delicacy, carried home recipes for making it (a prize of victory when they conquered Greece). The wealthy and educated Romans used various types of meat in every course of the meal, including the dessert course (secundae mensea). According to historical records, oysters, mussels, lampreys, and other meats and fish were normal in Roman puddings. It is thought that the puddings were a lot like pies.. The Roman statesman, Marcus Porcius Cato (234-149 B.C.), also know as Cato the Elder, wrote a treatise on agriculture called De Agricultura. He loved delicacies and recorded a recipe for his era's most popular pie/cake called Placenta. They were also called libum by the Romans, and were primarily used as an offering to their gods. Placenta was more like a cheesecake, baked on a pastry base, or sometimes inside a pastry case. The delights of the pie spread throughout Europe, via the Roman roads, where every country adapted the recipes to their customs and foods. My question: Do you believe in dinosaurs? I live in Vermont. Yes, it's a state; The Green Mountian State. And it's within New England, so I just like to say I live in New England. It's really surprising how many Americans ask me "What state is Vermont in?". Whenever I'm asked that, I die a little inside. So yeah, we're the guys who make REAL maple syrup. That's pretty much all we're good for. Oh, and snow. We get tons of snow. Cold... cold snow *cries*.

Welcome, xxantixxherox2! But we actually discourage introduction threads at our site. Instead, we prefer it if new members introduce themselves within their first post. That way we avoid having introduction threads fill up the forums, and it also gets new members involved in discussion immediately. If you find anything too confusing, I recommend checking out the rules page, which you'll find on the left navigation menu. If you have any further questions or concerns, please use the Suggestions & Feedback forum, and browsing through the FAQ, which can be found under the rules. I'd also would suggest if you're new to browse through the forums, to get an idea of what we expect in posting quality, and discussion ideas, here on the boards. As for your question; I'm not quite sure. I'd recommend creating a thread in the Suggestions & Feedback forum, and there someone should be able to answer your questions. If you have any questions feel free to PM myself, or any of our other moderators. With that said I'll lock this thread to prevent any spam. Thanks! Thread Closed.

Oh, and Bloodseeker, please avoid posting single, short comments such as yes or no remarks. If you're going to post in a thread please do your best to write a somewhat elaberate remark, and if you find that you cannot, then please do not post in that thread at all. Thanks. Hello, ANTIWORLD. I'm going to stress the same thing that I stressed to ed's girl. I'm afaird this post is considered spam. Here at OtakuBoards we stress, and great encourage posts that contirbute to the discussion of the thread's topic, and posts with quality.. Posts that do not contribute to the discussion, or pose no real discussion, such as yours, are considered spam. I'd like to point out the certain set of Rules that we have here on OtakuBoards, which can be located on the left navigation menu. I strongly advise you to look over them, if you haven't done so already. Also, if you're not quite sure on how the posting system works, or if you need an idea of what we expect in quality, I suggest that you browse through previous posts and threads to get an idea of what we expect in post quality. Also, double posting is againest the rules. Which you should read up on, but if you're still unclear then feel free to ask a moderator about any questions or concerns. Thanks.

Your attachment picture woudln't work, so I had to image search other pictures. I didn't throw in a large amount of the eyes around the background because it looked odd, and didn't seem to fit, so I hope this will be okay. If you'd like me to change anything let me know and I can revise it. Also, if you want, you can send me a picture you'd like to have a avatar of-- That'd be no problem. Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans! Peraphs the most vile tasting jelly beans on the market. I actually bought a box of them at the candy store on friday, so seeing this thread pop up is quite funny. I personaly cannot stomach, or even dare to TRY to eat a large majority of them. At $2.99 a box they seem like a waste, but when you can trick one of your friends with one of the nasty flavors-- The result can be priceless. One of my old brothers bought a box of them and fooled a few of his fellow friends at work. He has some funny stories to tell about them. One of my future plans is to place a box full of the nasty flavors and combine them with a large jar of the orginal Jelly Belly beans. Heh heh heh. The current complete list is as follows: Bacon (NEW!) Black Pepper Blueberry Booger Buttered Popcorn Cherry Cinamon Dirt Earthworm Earwax Grape Jelly Grass Green Apple Lemon Drop Rotten Egg (NEW!) Sardine Soap Toasted Marshmallow Tuti-Fruiti Vomit The two new flavors are Bacon and Rotten Egg. How gross is that?

Seeing as you're looking to discuss about a book- I'll move your thread down to the proper forum which would be the OB Anthology. Which is where you can discuss your favorite novels. Be sure to read all of the specific forum rules, because they are different from the Lounge's. You may find the discussion you're looking for ^_~. As previously asked by Desbreko, tasu22889, do not double post. Also, your posts haven't been following the topic at hand too well- I'm not sure about the connection to diasters and deaths, and alchemy. Please make sure that you're posts contribute to the discussion. If you're having trouble with the "edit" post option, please PM one of the moderators or myself.. But do not continue double posting. Take heed of Desbreko's post. Thanks.

Sun : When I first viewed this over AIM- I was impressed. The faded light colors really gives this piece a pleasantly clean feeling. The minor details added; Such as the orange dots gradually fading, and the somewhat appealing bubble effect in the corner was a nice touch. I too enjoy the choice of colors. The choice of font is simple, but very well used in a sense that it's visible and easy to read- Nothing to flashy. The qoute could of been more poetic, or a dead thought, as Baron said it is "blunt". A very soft faded feeling. Nice job. Ozy : This piece didn't stand as too appealing to me. I'm very impressed that you went through the trouble of cropping out money from your own photos, and how much time you spent working on that one part, but that seems to of been your main focus. I don't find it to be very "graphical". The boarder is quite interesting; I can't keep track of where it's going. The quote you used was well stated and I believe it to represent materialism well in its own special way, but the font wasn't very well done. The font color is a plain black, and is just doesn't blend well with the photo. Massive congrads on a damn good job cropping. A job well done to the both of you. My vote is for Sun.
