Dance Dance Revolution- What's your favorite song?
Stuart replied to RavenDragon's topic in Noosphere
Well, Let's see here... *looks through list of DDR songs on playlist*. Candy (Vocal Mix), Speed Over Beethoven, Maxx Unlimited, and about countless others, but I'll keep my list short. I really get into the techno/dance beat that goes along with each of these songs while playing them in the arcade. Each of them really gets the blood going, and it's just a blast to dance to them. I acutually dislike the samurai-ish songs in the game; They really trip me up, and I lose the rythm real quick. The speed mixes and techno songs are all my favorites. -
Im kinda new here but it seems that a lot of lesser animes dont get much attention, i figured that would make an interesting discussion . . . . .
Hello Aliakai. Hmm... Yes that may make an interesting discussion, but unfortunately this is not the proper forum to be placing a thread with the topic of Anime. I'd like to say that I am currently an athiest. My reasons are my own, so I won't be going into much discussion along the topic of "Christian... or Not?".
I enjoy religious debates, but only when I'm able to voice my opinion and see my "opponent" (usually my RE teacher) get that perplexed and annoyed look... ]I have one question that I'll leave to all of those who distinctly believe that what the Bible says is true when it comes to how the world became populated: If we all came from Adam and Eve who, to my knowledge, only bore sons...how in the heck are well all different colours and, well, don't have 12 toes? I always ask my RE teacher and they constantly ignore me.
This made me laugh a little after reading it, and got me to thinking. So I did some research... After Adam and Eve had children, how did they proceed onto the third generation? The children must have slept with each other, or their own parents. How do you explain this to an inquisitive child without condoning incest? Incest was the order of the day, and would have been required for two or three generations. The same applies to the story of Noah's Ark. The children of Noah's family and his wife's family must have slept with members of their parent's family, or each other. Any further generations would again be faced with the same choice. The main problem is not morals, it can be argued that just because it is immoral does not mean that it didn't happen. The main problem is biological. Interbreeding two families causes severe retardation, mutation and infertility. This happens to isolated Human population even when there are more then two families. The problem increases with severity the more the inbreeding occurs. "...full-sibling or parent-child incest results in about 17% child mortality and 25% child disability, for a combined result of about 42% nonviable offspring" - Donald Brown The phenomenon of nonviable offspring from breeding between closely related family members is not limited to Humans, but to most life, especially amongst mammals and multicellular organisms: "A study of 38 captive mammalian species found a cross-species average of around 33% offspring mortality resulting from closely incestuous matings" - Donald Brown Due to the non viable offspring that result from incest, which gets worse with each generation, the Adam and Eve story cannot be the literal whole truth. When a Christian next time relies on the urban myth of "Christian Family Values" then wander how they would explain to someone the big question of "What happened after the Flood?" The only moral escape route is to admit that the Adam and Eve story is a metaphor. The only biologically correct explanation known is that we evolved slowly from lower animals so that incest was never a problem.

Twisted Vision : Well, at first I didn't see much of it. It looked pretty neat; The end, but then after I sat here and gazed into it, I felt as if I falling down a slide, and I became quite dizy placing myself into the picture. The smooth, shiny red strip really gives it the appearance of a slide. The area in yellow is just an infinite drop off, and that's where I become dizy. I notice a strip of pink down at the top (but it sure as hell looks like at the bottom to me right now) It just seems kinda there, and it's one of those lone colors. This piece truely is a twisted vision. Make Me : When you first showed me this piece I thought I was looking for a picture, and I would of continued to look for one if you hadn't told me there wasn't one. It reminds me a lot of your entry for the battle we had awhile back. The same colors, blind effect and the New Times Roman font, if I'm not mistaken. It's quite orginal. I certainitly haven't seen you make something like it before, but it looks nice. Hack Helba (Jester Hat of Moderating Goodness) : Aww... so cute. First off I love the colors, They really bring out essence of this picture. The grid effect with the light brush stroke (I don't know what you Photoshop users call it) looks grand, and not overdone. The "Thread Closed" isn't completely visible and I could only make it out once you told me what it was, but I still love it. Who wouldn't? =P I can't wait to see what other creative things you'll manipulate my photos into. w00t!

What an interesting idea, but it's appearing to be a popularity contest. I'd like to state that this isn't a popularity contest. I'll be puting people who I believe to make for one hell of Otaku Real World,, so for those of you who aren't added to my cast list don't feel left out. I still wuv you all! Dragon Warrior - Quite the funny ladies man. He comes up with the most orginal ideas that never fail to suprise me. Nuff said. Boo - "There two types of people I can't stand in this world. Those who are intolerant to other peoples cultures, and the Dutch" No reality television show is complete without a crazy Dutchmen. Have you read this guys away messages? They're insane. He's quite the unique one. Retirbution - He'd TRY to keep things in order but he wouldn't stand a chance againest Boo and DW placed togher in the same house. He'd most likely be the most modern person in the house, but has a great sense of humor. Kitty - She's FULL of energy. It's almost unbearable for her to sit still and when you add her rants of randomness the only thing way to explain it is "WOOOOHOOOO! WIRED LIKE A MICROWAVE!" Talking to her on the phone sure never gets dull xP Azurewolf - Though I haven't really talked to AzureWolf since 2003, He seems like the laid back, "enjoying life, simply ^^" kind of guy. Who can go wrong with a quote from Albert Einstein in your sig? He'd be one, like Retribution, who I could see getting into a deep discussion on something a little more intelligent. I'd think he'd be an interesting fella to throw in the energenic bunch. Syk3 - Sure, we have a lot of artist on the boards, but not many pencil artists. Syk3's art is most interesting and very good. He's also into soccer and DDR
.My all-time favorite would have to be Orange Soda[/b'] though. Don't know why, but I could drink gallons of thats stuff, it's way addicting.
Orange soda sure is refreshing, now and then but I find that it goes stale awfuly quick. Same with Rootbeer, but both are good until that point. Mountain Dew certainly is not to wonderful tasting, so I'd have to say my favorite soda is Sprite! Out of Pepsi or Coke I'd have to choose Pepsi. It has a more of a zing to my tastebuds and has a more cool, refreshing taste. I've been thinking about what is it about Pepsi I enjoy so much, but I haven't been able to put my finger on it. Pepsi definitely. Plus I like the can/bottle designs over Coco-Cola =P

Fullmetal Alchemist's Biggest Fan Contest!
Stuart replied to Momiji Love's topic in General Discussion
(Shame on you, Helba. For shame...)
Well, I'm just giving out my personal, logical view on it ^_^;; I never said that it couldn't of been a call about the contest. What I was trying to say is to not get your hopes up and get hurt. That's all. It sure would be a very cool experience to have won a fan contest of any sort though.
arent you..in the wrong forum..*doesnt really know is new*
I see this thread as more about being the winner of a contest rather it being focused on Fullmetal Alchemist. As long as it remains that way, placing it in the Otaku Lounge shouldn't be a problem. If this does turn into a thread focused around FMA then I will move it to the Anime Lounge. -
Fullmetal Alchemist's Biggest Fan Contest!
Stuart replied to Momiji Love's topic in General Discussion
Well not to discourage you, but I often get calls from which come up as "Florida" on the caller ID ever so often. They ask for my mother and when I tell them she isn't here and I ask if I may take a message they simply reply "No that's ok. I'll call back later". Many tele-marketers will tell you that. Now if you entered an essay to a contest I would think you would of had added your own name to it, and if so I don't believe they'd ask for your mom. I'm not exactly clear on what the full details of this contest are or even what it's all about. Without that information there's really nothing anyone else can tell you. I'm also a bit confused on why you've come to think that Florida would be the state calling you. Did you send your entry to florida? If what you said is true and that the winners have been announced then you should do some research on google to find if you can dig up any more information involving contest winners. -
I normally despise animations in banners, though I have been known to through them in (though it was a long time ago, mind you, lol). But yours turned out nice. It would've been a bit better had their been a smooth transition between frames, but those are hard to make look clean, so it's understandable.[/COLOR']
Dark Light : That would be my only suggestion as-well. Your background design didn't seem to appear to be much until I acutually concentrated on it, and once I did I noticed just how unique it looked. It sort of reminds me of Lord of the Rings, and the language that was craved into the ring. The picture is of decent quality and I enjoy the light white boarder that outlines him. I'm not sure if that was intended or if that just how it came out after feathering up your cropping. Your choice for font and text placement also fits in nicely. Rip Out the Wings of a Butterfly : This is something I've never seen from you before, but after seeing it; It is effident that you used PhotoShop. I very much enjoy the way you put togher this piece. The boarder design along with your abstract background is placed togher nicely. The thing that really got me though was the Him symbol. I really like the overlay appeal to it, and how some of it is partcialy consumed by the background. Well done. I'm looking forward to what other goodies you will construct next.

Hello Art Master, You have an interesting idea here, but not exactly a good one. I don't believe this thread will go to far as discusion goes. It could, but I strongly don't think so. If you'd like to make the "largest thread EVER" You should think of a topic that will spark peoples interests and allow members to have in-depth, intelligent discussions. Choose a concrete topic other than a jumble of "What are you into?" or "Tell us about yourself". Your thread title should be an appropriate one, aswell give members a vague idea as to what your thread is about. "Please look here!!Please post HERE!" isn't exactly the greatest way of stating your thread's topic. Who knows, you may just create the largest thread ever, but not with this as your topic. With that said I feel justified in closing this thread. Thread Closed.

Back when I was in 7th grade (Four years ago xD) I would go to the movies with my friend Jen almost every friday. One time that we went her older sister Amber came along and she introduced me to her good friend Bob. Well I never acutually got to see him because the sad part was; Bob was imaginary. From what Amber told me Bob was one buffed out dude who wore a big red sweater and loved nachos. We would often bring up inside jokes that involved Bob, and had a great time confusing people. Of course this was only a little joke that I know atleast I have held onto. I no longer talk to Jen or Amber, but next time I do I'll be sure to bring up the legacy of Bob. Other than that I can't honestly say I've had an imaginary friend. Would anyone like to sell me one? >.>

Many of these last posts have been very poor in quality and some I find some of the replies to be quite ridiculous. These comments are not leading to any form of a discussion, and I believe everyone who was going to post a reply has done so already and that this thread isn't going anywhere but downhill. I'm tempted to give just a warning but I believe this thread has served it's purpose. Thread Closed.
