284!!! [spoiler]The new team is finally official![/spoiler] So what do you guys think of Yamato? And Ino was in the chapter!! Can anybody say SMEXY? I really don't like Ino, but that was a shway new outfit. I think Tsunade is really showing strength as she fights against the [spoiler]elder council.[/spoiler] It's something we never saw in the last Hokage. Also, I'm in agreement with most of the other members here... I don't like Sai very much. I much prefer the [spoiler]Hikaru no Go[/spoiler] version. xD I guess he wasn't meant to be liked very much was he. My bet is [spoiler]he'll get himself into some trouble and we'll have to feel sorry for him.[/spoiler] As Sand Dragon 19 said, his attacks are like an artform. In fact, there's a pretty good Anime Music Video of that name (History of Anime) by Sam Farha which is pretty educational. I recommend you go watch it (part 1 because part 2 wasn't as impressive in my opinion). From what I can remember off the top of my head... The "Anime Style" started with the Father of Manga Osamu Tezuka. He's the creator of Astro Boy, Kimba the White Lion, and tons of other series that you'll be sure to recognize. He copied the fast paced and bold style of American Funnies (comic strips) and Disney. That's why AstroBoy's eyes are so big, because early Disney Cartoons had big eyes, ie. Bambi. Originally, this was all just comics, but Tezuka became popular enough that they gave him a show. That's the origin of Manga-styled drawing. The origin of Anime-styled Animation practices (Limited Animation - I think it's called) are a different story. ^^ I don't claim to be an expert, even if my tone may be a little arrogant. I appologize if I offended anyone. Everything I wrote I learned from Internet and other media (books, videos, etc.) about Anime. -ArV

Find out who's playing Japanese Naruto, OMG WTF IT'S A WOMAN!!! I'm not even going to continue... -.\\\ Cartoon Network does a great job editting anime. Unlike a few stations I can name up here in Canada, there are executives at CN that actually like Anime and try to keep it as uncut as possible. They're always pushing to make things less and less editted. Naruto is actually a great example of this because it was originally intended for Adult Swim but they put it on Toonami. Edits are an inevitability because Anime is still viewed by the masses as Japanese [i]Cartoons[/i]. Stations and companies like VIZ seem to be trying to change this and appeal to an older audience, but nothing can happen over night. At least Cartoon Network is making an effort... grr damn YTV... that's right... you better start showing Naruto more than once a week. -ArV

The submissions are all very well done. It's very, very difficult to choose one to vote -against-. I have to side with Katana and Delta. Kitty's piece is by far my favourite. I don't think it would be fair to cast a counter vote, considering the nature of the round, but I hope Kitty does not get eliminated in this round. The picture I would have to say that I like the least, is interestingly enough the closest one in appearance to Kitty's piece. [b]Doc[/b]'s piece doesn't seem to sit well with me and I almost have to force the connection between the text and the photograph. Although the symbol of change seems to be portrayed well with the text, I don't feel serene or calm from the font-face or the photograph. Also the image and the words don't seem to fit together very well. -ArV

I work at Boston Pizza. In the United States it's just called Boston's. Apparently it's actually a Canadian company from somewhere in the Praries... and we have a lot more than Pizza. I only just started... finished my first week yesterday. ^^ Hopefully I don't get fire too quickly. xD It's a fun job, I really like it, and the tips are great. Though it's stil a challenge and I need to get a lot better. -ArV

I know I'm just repeating everybody else, but this thread is very informative. xD Somebody should have made one like this earlier. The only problem is that even though I read the real pronounciations, it'll be difficult for me to switch them in my head since I'm already so used to them. I shall always think "double oh seven" instead of "zero zero seven." About my username though... it's not pronounced but spelt. the letter "R" the number "2" the letter "V" and the letter "Q". My signature... that's a bit harder. It too, is just the sounds of letters. "Ar" would be like the letter "R" and "V" would just be pronounced as the letter "V". That's why Godel types it as "Arvie". xD -ArV

What we do know though is that Kakashi became a Jounin at a really young age. Kakashi Gaiden, a story about Kakashi's past told from Chapter 239 - 244 shows us Kakashi's first day as a Jounin. According to Wikipedia Obito was only 13 when this happenned, so Kakashi must have been too. Since he became a Jounin so young, he must have been a chuunin at a pretty young age too. 281 was definately the best in a long time. The other story was beginning to get a little stale and the humour-humour-serious beat of this chapter was a great way to seperate into the next Arc. I'm really curious about this Sai. Is Sai [spoiler]good or bad? A boy or a girl?[/spoiler]. T_T I drooled as I saw Sai. It looks like it'll be a good arc. And the Gai moment!!! Only way to describe it ---> [spoiler]OMFG[/spoiler]. xD And definately, Lee is "adorable". xD As for the filler episodes... I agree with Lunox. I didn't see a point to fillers unless they gave enough time for the manga to get ahead. Even if the Anime has been filling time for the past few months, the manga hasn't gotten [i]that[/i] far ahead yet.
