1. I know it's not up to me either.. and my opinion probably doesn't mean much ^^ lol but I agree with Doc and Doukeshi. I wanted to join the OBGT when I found out about it too, but it was too late. ^^ If they allowed one person to join late, they'd have to allow everyone else who wanted to join late. -ArV
  2. ^^ I still haven't entirely decided yet. xD But like Lrb I'll decide by the end of this post. xD Kitty: I couldn't figure out what it was at first. I was wondering why you mentioned stars even though I couldn't see any. Although your description does explain and it makes a lot of sense with it, I don't know if it counts... ^^ I love the picture on the left though. The more I look at it, the more I'm drawn in. And it definately draws you in... so mesmerizing... I like the typeface you used too. ^^ Ozymandius Jones: The picture you used matches the theme perfectly. It also gives a happy sort of feeling. xD Your colours all match and are great for the theme, I think. My beef is with your text. I'm of reversed opinions of Lrb. I like the colour that you used, it fits with your theme, but I don't think the font you used. Akbar. xD That's the Simpson's font. xD I'm going to have to go with Ozymandius Jones too. But like Lrb, it was very, very close. -ArV
  3.
sadly not yet, I haven't found a site that has released it yet.
I was about to tell you how to download them... but I just realized that it was against the rules xD So I sent you a PM. ---- My speculations are with Lunox's. Even if Gaara
loses all his powers, I doubt he'll be left absolutely useless. Otherwise what was the point in bringing him back from the dead? He'll definately learn something new. o.O Unless he's like Rock Lee and has no Chakra at all xD
Do you guys think he might be booted from being
kazekage?
As for Deidara,
I think he'll get a new arm.
He's akatsuki after all. You can't count him out. XD Although, Haku was the l33t. Especially with his single handed hand symbols. I always thought the venus fly-trap guy was talking to the other Akatsuki. xD -ArV
  4. I don't consider you odd Lunox. My story is similar to yours, but I haven't rejected anime to the extent you have...yet.
because they're stupid and dont no whats good for them.
That is very bigotistic comment. You assume that because they don't have the same interests you do, they're automatically stupid? -ArV
  5.
Shouldn't some cards just be "too powerful" to seperate the better duelest from the pack.
First, I think this is in the wrong thread. Since it has nothing to do with the Anime. Second, I agree that the company is screwing the game up. Why make cards if nobody can play with them? It's no longer a game. It seems they're just trying to make things rare and "collectable" rather than playable. Third, it's about money. It always is. They want as much money as they can. Most importantly, I disagree with your statement above. It seems like you think that a better duelist is one with better cards. That's exactly what I hated about the game. It's about who's richer, not who's the best strategist. It's not about who's the best tactition or card player. It's all about who can afford the best cards. It used to be fun, but now it's just annoying.
I have to rework my deck almost every month because more and more cards are being banned and restricted.
Maybe that's what they want. If you keep reworking your deck, you may have to buy new cards to replace the ones that were restricted. Like you said, they're restricting staples, meaning everyone has to change their decks. Everyone has to buy new cards and spend more money. -ArV
  6.
-.- Not all phobias are bad you know...I think that I actually red of one that is good on my art teachers" Random statment" Board today...[/FONT']
xP I never said it was bad. I just said that it meant you were scared xD. Though I'm curious about that one on your art teacher's board. ^^
Anywho. Its not that I dont like the fillar episodes.[/FONT']
Oh, I never meant that at all. ^^ It was more of a general statement to those who -did- rag about the filler episodes.
I've only seen the first 3 episodes in English, and the dubbing sucks but you get used to their voices after a while. The Japanese version is SO much better.
Really? I really like the dub. And yes, I've seen the Japanese version. xD
On top of that, I've read all of the manga to date
Cool! So have you read 280 yet? Has anyone read 280 yet?
So Sasori is really dead!! FINALLY! xD. But Deidara is alive. -.o ugh. It seems like he'll be a minor boss who's minor but weak... I'm just glad that the Sasori fight is over. My theory is that Gaara lost his powers.
What do you guys think? -ArV
  7. Anime is a form of media with many different genres. You listed two of them, Action and Cute. Some programs cross genres and are not limited to just one. Not everyone likes Television even if there's lots of different genres in it. You would think there is a television program for everyone out there. Not everyone likes reading even if there's lots of different genres in it. You would think that there is a book for everyone out there. I can go on. All you can say is that different people like different things. It's normal, it's wonderful, it makes the world go round. Be happy we're not all the same otherwise the Anime you loved so much would all be the same too. -ArV
  8. A very simple banner with one image, text, and brush work in the background. It didn't take me too long to make... so I guess that's why it's not that good. xD (That or I don't have talent. :animedepr xD) -ArV
  9. hehe I thought I'd give it a try. ^^ Like the former posts, I shall insist that I have no talent, but I tried to follow your directions xD I like simple stuff so I had a lot of space but I can change it if you want. ^^ -ArV
  10. Baron Samedi: I like this piece. It's not too complicated and the position of the person bends my mind. xD The colour scheme seems to match the theme and I really like the white border on the top, left, and bottom. What I like the least is the text. It doesn't seem to fit for me. I'm not sure why. ^^ But it does match with the swirlies in the back... and I like the swirlies so I'm lost. XD Sean: The texture in the background is beautiful, especially combined with the colours you used. I don't know if the colour would match with what I felt was "ennui" but it's your interpretation. ^^ What stands out to me is your reliance on words and text to convey your message. Also, the positioning of the text doesn't do very much for me. Sorry, I'm going to have to go with Baron Samedi for this one. -ArV
  11. lol I'd have to disagree with pretty much everything Warmaster said. lol. Retribution: I find the first submission much more professional looking than the second one. It's simple and to the point. Also, it makes great use of the principles of design. Though I have to agree with Baron Samedi on the issue of spacing. Since the border is so wide, I seem to be expecting the spacing to be at least a little wider. Delta: The second submission intrigues me. ^^ Where the first submission reminds me of art and design in terms of museums and school, the second submission reminds me of all things digital. It reminds me of science and technology. There's one thing I don't like about it, the vector spirals on the left side. (If they are vector xD) The rest of the image has lots of texture and seems rough, like reality. But the spirals don't seem to fit in. I'll have to go with Retribution for two reasons. 1) From a design point of view, it feels more right. 2) It fits the category much closer than Einstein. Sorry Delta, it doesn't mean I didn't like yours though. ^^ edit: Also these are just my opinions xD they mean close to nothing. What do I know about art? XD -ArV
  12.
Heh I guess being the major naruto-phobic person that I am I should have posted more often. Heh My sorries for not in the first places.[/SIZE']
Naruto-phobic? You're afraid of Naruto? XP ^^ The fillers coming to the end is a good thing since the story after that is fun. xD But if they end soon, they're still not giving the Manga much room/time to escape the inevitable catch up. The manga didn't even finish one real full battle arc yet. Also... even if the Fillers are new stories, they're not -so- bad. They're still interesting adventures that involve comedy and fighting. Though... I'd really like to see the Sasori fight in animation xD. -ArV

    Starfire+Robin=LOVE
As for Robin(Tim Drake), his girlfreind was murdered by Black Mask.
Yeah. ^^ That's my Avatar, Stephanie Brown (Robin IV). She became Robin after Drake (Robin III)
temporarily quit
. As for Dick Grayson (Robin I / Nightwing) he and Starfire
were going to get married but they called it off. I think somebody told me Deathstroke (Slade) came and ruined everything.
Edit: Okay I just looked it up on Wiki. The following spoiler is a correction to my previous spoiler.
The wedding wasn't interupted by Deathstroke, but by Raven who had turned evil at the time. The relationship was apparently "already on rocky ground" so they just didn't get together after that.
-ArV
  14.
I gone for just a coupla weeks and Naruto gets on page 2?!?! :animeblus [/FONT']
I'm not allowed to double post and "edit-copy-delete-reply-paste-post" is an annoying process xD. I am happy with 278 and 279 but I can't wait for the scanlation of 280. In other news... They announced the Edited DVDs (Dub only) will be released March 28th 2006. This isn't really news since we knew they'd be released around that time. We also knew they'd be editted so Japanese audio tracks wouldn't have worked. And I missed the most recent Dub episode!! >.< -hates YTV for only showing Naruto once a week- -ArV
  15. My friends and I wasted a period trying to figure out who to "cosplay" on Halloween. I was against -anything- anime related so we thought a good idea would be to cosplay as the Teen Titans. Apparently my hair is like robins. o.O And another friend of mine already has a cloak that looks like Raven's xD I went looking for gloves today but couldn't find any. T_T Maybe I wont be Robin... -ArV
  16.
EDIT: AoD[/url'] has reported that Viz will release the first Hikaru no Go DVD on 9/27/05. Now that's what I call fast. While I dislike many of the company's practices (bad disc counts, no song subtitles, etc.) I can't help but be excited about the quick turnover. I hope they include the live-action segments.
It's a shame they didn't release it in September, but ANN posted a release date.
On December 27, Viz will release Hikaru no Go volume 1. The DVD will contain 4 episodes, in English and Japanese with English subtitles and will cost $24.98.
I have decided to waste my savings on HnG DVDs and English Manga. xD -ArV
  17. My Girlfriend and I were into Anime before we met each other. I wasn't looking for someone who liked Anime, since I like it only as much as I like other forms of media, but it was definately an ice-breaker. After three years, we've done a lot of things Anime and a lot of our time is spent on our mutual hobby, but that's all it is. ^^ Just a hobby, not a foundation for our relationship. -ArV
  18. I was born a Catholic. Raised a Catholic, and went to Catholic schools all my life. I still am at Mary Ward Catholic Secondary School. I am baptised, confessed, comuned, and confirmed. Though at the moment, I guess I'm either agnostic or just undecided.
ag·nos·tic n. One who believes that it is impossible to know whether there is a God.

a·the·ist ( P ) Pronunciation Key (th-st) n. One who disbelieves or denies the existence of God or gods.
They don't seem very similar to me. One says we don't know if God exists and it's impossible to tell. The other says God doesn't exist. Period. So... why are Agnostic and Atheist grouped together like that?
I myself am a catholic. However, I'm not one of those catholics who is overly enthusiastic about worship. ... ( I shall also state this: any christians out there who feel like criticizing my views, you can just bite me. I am my own being. I love others out of my own soul, not anything acting through it.) ... I see how many of you could hate me for my beliefs, but I care for others more than myself, and I hate to see someone suffer due to something that was "meant to be." Defiance is my thing.
I don't hate you. Far from it. I was like you. I'm not criticizing your views, but if you want to call yourself a Catholic, you have to agree to follow everything the Church tells you. Otherwise, you "know it's bad" and will go to that place where sinners go. You may call yourself a neo-Catholic, but you can't really call yourself a Catholic, unless you are a real Catholic. If you know what I mean. ^^ That's why I stopped calling myself a Catholic. I don't like following the orders of some old guy in Rome. If my morals and emotions tell me something is wrong, I'm not going to burn any witches or homosexuals because your 1500 year old book tells me to.
But then, my 11th grade religion teacher taught us that the book is better interpreted on a more symbolic level. After that, things just seemed to fall into place in my life and I could finally accept my religion. ... So back to the initial topic, techniquly I'm a Roman Catholic, but even with my open minded view of the Bible, there are still some things in my religion I don't believe in.
Yep. Same story, but for me it was Grade Nine. ^^ The Bible is an interesting old book written by men (and if you want... inspired by God). Though, like I said above, the problem I have with the Catholic Faith is the way they tell you what to think. Certain things are right, and certain things are wrong because that's what the bigshots say. I'd rather follow my own conscience at the moment. So there are things in Catholicism that I can't agree to, like you. I don't think you should be calling yourself a Catholic either. But remember, those are my opinions. Don't let me force them on you or offend you. xP -ArV
  19. -Remember the Alchemists from the last picture? This is why they were blue. -And you thought your acne was bad! -ArV
  20. I've heard it on the radio and I've seen it in the papers everywhere I've gone. Apparently, it's unofficial, but it's still making big news. What does everyone think of the latest guy to be rumoured to be the next James Bond? Daniel Craig -ArV
  21. Okay! Time for a winner! And I shall imitate the format of all previous winners. ^^ First:
Even the Fullmetal Alchemist was no match for Man-Faye.
Second:
JUst say no to Laura BUsh in Playboy....
Third:
"AL! WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE YOU DOING TO THAT POOR CHILD!?"
Honorable Mention
"Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess has been delayed again?!!" Ed: Why is that still surprising?!"
Honorable Mention
Men: Baby Bop! Ed: Out of the way, I want a hug!
^^ Okay so Dagger-dono you're responsible for posting the next picture. XD Sorry guys, nobody's a match for Man-Faye xD -ArV
  22.
but after i beat the game, all the City Events under just stopped comin up,
What I noticed was that if I left a specific area too fast, I would never get the City Event notification. So... What I did was I stood on top of a car and enjoyed the scenery as it drove by. The City Events would come eventually. I completed about 40 city events in about two hours.
Anybody picked this up yet?
I have to admit that I'm biased for Spider-man. I can't help myself and I don't know why. I really liked this game. Like the others said earlier, it has a great story (since it was written by the same guy who did the comic) and the graphics are stellar. The problem I have with the game was diagnosed by Killer7. Everything is simplified. I can get used to the "Area Unavailable" sign, but what I noticed first was the simplified swinging. Also, the combos that were in Spider-man 2 are no longer available. There is no impact webbing, only tie-em-up-and-throw-em-around webbing. There are no more wrestling moves, just punch, kick, and grab. In a way that's good. It's still fun to play without having to memorize lists of combos, but in a way it's more hollow. Swinging around New York doesn't have that stress-reducing therapeutic effect SM2 gave me, but I can get places faster and with less buttons. For me it's worth the buy, but like I said, I'm a Spider-fan forever. xD -ArV ps. Oh yeah! The banner from my signature is from the game. xD
  23. I guess it's either because I'm busy, poor, and tired of fansubs that I want to watch movies more often recently. I have fallen behind in school and I must graduate soon, so I can't watch Anime in big chunks like I used to. Actually, I shouldn't be on these boards every day either, but I am so hm... I'm poor so I can't get anything legally. I can't even get things illegally if you want to resort to Hong Kong Subs (Bootlegs). I am tired of fansubs. I had a phase where I would download gigs of Anime every month. But I'm tired of fansubbers that forget (or don't care) about the original point of fansubbing, and do things illegally. I'm also tired of the wait it takes to download an episode since the times I'm allowed to download has been severely restricted. Plus, I love movies. -ArV
  24. EVA Unit 100, I praise you. ^^ A lot of the complaints with the dub have been surrounding exactly what you said. There exists so many of these sub-obsessed "otaku" that I just ignore it, but you say everything I want to about the dub. It was a good dub.
Minor quibble: Both Inuyasha and Naruto are shounen (Naruto runs in Shounen Jump, while Inuyasha runs in Shounen Sunday).
Hm. Fair enough. ^^ That and it has the same creator as Ranma½ and Urusei Yatsura. For some reason though, when I wrote the post I thought Takahashi was a Shoujo mangaka... Okay, scratch "Shoujo" from my essay and just assume that Naruto and Inuyasha deal with different issues xD Oh and like you, my choice is regretably with the series that I've seen more of. -ArV
  25.
I've only seen the first few episodes of Naruto, but it seems a lot more immature and juvenile than Inuyasha, especially if you watch the original Japanese episodes.
I disagree. I think neither series is very mature and I think the reason lots of people prefer one over the other is the approach they take at entertaining the masses. Though, don't get me wrong. Although I say neither is mature, they both deal with issues beneath the battles and 'adventures' they go through. Inuyasha is a girl's anime. It deals with relationships and love. One major staple of the series they never get rid of is the Inuyasha-Kagome relationship. They constantly talk about it and even created a love triangle by throwing in Inuyasha's old girlfriend Kikyo. Even if Inuyasha is on a quest to find the mystic shards, the journey is not important, it's the relationship between the characters male and female characters. On the other hand, Naruto is a boy's anime. It deals with different issues than Inuyasha. Inuyasha had a romantic undertone but the Naruto series pretty much forgot about romantic relationships except for the occasional clips of this couple or that. The main character had a crush on a girl, but it's quickly forgotten and hardly ever brought up again. Where Inuyasha had relationship issues, Naruto deals with loneliness issues. Uzumaki Naruto is trying his best to become acknowledged, and many characters are dealing with similar issues of loneliness and dealing with the lack of family. They seem to be a mirror and comparison to Naruto the same way Hamlet was mirrored by Fortinbras and Laertes. Bwahaha tie in Shakespeare. xD -ArV
