1. Ty looked around as he stood at Night's right hand....well as close as he could get with the rabble of hunters that was gathering. Some were doomed from the moment they walked in, others seemed like they could probably hold their own. Night didn't give two shits about any of them, they weren't civilians so their deaths wouldn't matter. Of course he'd have everyone's back who had his, but he was looking out for himself, and Night of course. Though the big man hardly spoke, Ty looked at him as a mentor and a father figure, though he'd never allow anyone to know that. How passionate he was about hunting, and how every daemon they lay together was one step closer to finding the Asshole who took his family from him. Ty took the momentary silence to ensure he had all this throwing knives, his blade was ready, and his flask was indeed filled with holy water...he'd made that mistake once and never again. The hush was for real and Night raised his hand, this was it. The moment they'd discover what big mission they had coming, after all this was the first time this many hunters had been gathered in YEARS.
2. You know I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Aqua Teen, one of the better AS shows in my opinion. It really proves the point about being hit or miss because I honestly know 5 people that hate it and a dozen that love it. As far as other shows (my opinion only of course) I really don't get into. I love family guy, but as it was pointed out earlier they only seem to run reruns from the third season...I never really got into harvey birdman, sealab, venture brothers, I could watch them but if I missed them it was ehh.... Those shows like Tom and Eric, and Tom goes to the Mayor should be taken off if you ask me, once again I realize this is MY opinion not universal.
3. This was a good addition Vicky, I'm just sort've surprised. I thought you'd go a different route with the character since the intro made him mysterious and almost unemotional. It was almost weird to see him have depth and lots've emotions... Please don't take that in the negative because I really like where you are going with it now. It's nice to see a character like that as a human, I'd compare it to my story about the reaper but yours is well....good. Keep it up, and you've obviously got a couple of us hooked. So keep them coming....
4. "After 24 hours, Jarvis you're in charge" Ashton couldn't believe what he was hearing. Alia resigning to defeat already? Ashton's power was warped, most likely from that stuff moving from his veins. Ashton ran to the cell door and yelled out to the rest of the team, specifically to Alia and Jarvis. "What is up with you people!?" The emotions had been eating away at Ashton ever since Jarvis tried to "sacrifice" himself for the team. "Why are you all ready to kill yourselves to 'save' everyone?" The anger in Ashton welled up until he could almost feel his powers, the raw emotion had been enough to force them, maybe not free, but bring them closer to the surface. Just then the cell door flew open, causing Ashton to have to jump back to avoid being slammed by it. Standing in the doorway was a young looking man with glowing red eyes, it was apparent that he was being possessed by chaos, which was never good. "You need to settle down young one. You're going to make me cut your throat out to keep you quiet." With that the man turned and walked out, the door slamming shut behind him. "God I hate eaters" Ashton sighed as the man closed. Taking his advice, not because he was worried about the eather, Ashton had been prepared to die from the moment he signed up, but because he thought he could concentrate hard enough and break the barrier the injection had put on his mind. Ashton sat quietly, lost in his thoughts. There was no way Alia was sacrificing herself, not as long as he breathed.
5. I gotta tell you I really like the premise of your story Vicky. It's different then anything I've read before, and knowing you it should be a really good read(the intro was REALLY good). Just for curiosity sake, how are you planning on writing it? From the viewpoint of the Catcher himself? Or more of each chapter being focused mainly on the character the Catcher is saving?
6. hmmm, though my post can't help with your question at all. I do have a question for those that answered it, if y's limits are stated as GREATER than 8, how can you set Y? Wouldn't X just = 3/4 Y?
7. I'd have to agree with chibi, the cartoonish sign had me rolling. Among other things... *WARNING WORST PUN EVER APPROACHING* Don't be Hard on us and keep us waiting for more DeLarge!
8. It seems like the older you get the less of this you have, but I still get in the occasional Daydream. Mostly, what I've been into lately, is renting seasons of TV series' and watching them episode for episode. Currently I'm into CW's Supernatural, though it sort've stinks since I'm in the middle of season three, and just knowing I'm going to be out of episodes soon is horrible. As far as habits go, I really don't do anything...different like chibi. I guess you could go as far as calling them 'nervous habits', though you do them when you're bored. A good cure is a book, at least for me.
9.
This one has McG. He doesn't even have a name.
I'm more interested now. McG is a big part of the CW seriew Supernatural, of which I'm a HUGE fan, so you've just given me a reason to watch. And I'm to lazy to look it up now, but wasn't Arnold already Governor when the third came out? Or at least campaigning, which I think would be more strenuous then actually being governor.
10. Name: Ty Age: 26 Gender: Male Race: Human Team: Hunters Appearance: Ty stands at 6'2 and weighs around 200 lbs, solid but not bulky. He sports a military style haircut that he keeps year round. His most notable feature is his ice blue eyes that seem even lighter due to his dark hair and features. Bio: Ty joined Night 2 years ago after his tour of duty in the marines finished, and he had his first encounter with a daemons. He returned from his 4 year tour of duty in the service to find his family slaughtered and one of them waiting for him to arrive. Ty narrowly escaped with his life, and spent the next 2 years hunting that one daemon. 2 years after the incident Ty met Night as they were hunting in the same location. Soon after working with him he joined Night and his "Hunters" still hoping to one day find that daemon. Personality: Ty is your characteristic rebel. He usually sports his leather jacket and has a distinct disdain for authority figures of any kind, except when it comes to Night. He will follow that one man into hell and back, and performs any duties he's given to the letter. When he's not with Night, Ty can usually be found at a bar hustling pool or showing off his "game". Weapon: Ty's main weapon is his Katana "Vanguard", he also supports a mini arsenal of silver throwing knives and a flask containing either Jack Daniels, or Holy Water depending on the day.
11. I watched that preview on television a week or so ago and I'm sort've on the fence. I've liked all of Tim Burton's animated features (and yes I know this isn't Tim Burton, but it seems like it's in the same genre). I'll probably take my niece and go watch it the weekend after opening (I love having a younger niece, keeps me from feeling like the creepy old guy going to watch kids movies.
12. ummm I'm going to have to go with Sabre on this one, even though its WAY off subject, Super Saiyan's eyes are blue.....
13. Sorry about the title to this thread, I couldn't think of a good one to reflect on the content... The Avatar movie discussion thread has taken an interesting turn, and since not everybody checks the Sight & Sound forum I thought I would bring it to everybody at the lounge. The piece of the thread I'm takling about is the fact that the casting director asked that people show up in attire from their specific country (I recommend checking it out because it actually ends up sort've humerous. (The casting director actually thought that Kimonos were Korean). That specific area is what the little discussion has stemed from. Instead of adding quotes I'll invite you to check it out here specifically Dagger's post and my last post on this page. Basically the question at hand for everybody is: Is a comment made with no malicious intent still the same as making a hateful remark? Case in point (I'll use the same example I used in that Avatar post here: A child grows up around biget (white) parents who drop the "N" word around like its going out of style. The child does not know the meaning of the word, so has no hurtful intention when they use it in front of a black person. Is that act forgivable, or does it not excuse the person?
14.
Not intending to offend doesn't clear anyone, ever, of being offensive when it comes to racial matters. If a person's words are hurtful, the fact that they didn't speak out of malice is inconsequential next to the fact that their words actually hurt someone. ~Dagger~
While I agree that Not Intending to hurt somebody, but still saying/doing something hurtful does not clear a person of the "wrongdoing". But how can you actually hold somebody accountable if their actions hold no malice? That would be like a child growing up around bigget parents who go around throwing the "N" word around (just to clarify I mean white parents) like it's nothing. Then said child growing up and using it in front of a black person. If the child never understood what that word meant, or the history behind it, and they didn't mean anything by it other than it was just a word their parents used, can you hold them accountable and be angry with them? ...by and by we sort've have a good topic for a forum discussion Dagger. Oh and I didn't take it that you were picking on me, its a discussion thread afterall.
15. A few hours later, still bewildered that creatures such as the ones he was presently with existed, Keith watched the last of the soldiers disapear back towards the castle. "Mori, are you ready to get underway?" Keith wouldn't dare let her know that, though he felt they should wait awhile longer, her "family" gave him the creeps. The two set out with a quick goodbye, and began circling around the castle to head in the direction the old man told them. "So how long has your family lived in the forest Mori? I've never noticed anything like you before." Mori looked at him and smiled, "We tend to shy away from humans. Most of you don't understand us, and think of us as 'creatuers'." Those words stung Keith a little, to think he was just one of those same fickle creatures that she was speaking of didn't feel good. "My families protected the forest for hundreds of years now, it was supposed to be my turn, but as you can tell I'm not afraid of you humans as the rest of my people are. My family really doesn't care for that." Keith really felt connected to the young girl, they both shared these visions, and now their familes didn't understand them and looked down at them for it. They walked in silence for a few more miles, never saying much more then needed to be said until Mori's ears perked up and she halted them. "Somethings coming." Was all she had time to say before the 6 men on horseback blasted out of the brush, a full head of steam headed towards the two travelers. "The Captain was right, this was the direction they were headed in." "Damn, Mori get behind me and look for anyone moving through the bush. I'll handle these nobodies." Keith rushed towards the first man on horseback. "Do you really think you can take an Alexander?" In a single fluid motion Keith unsheathed his sword, spun, and dismounted half of the cocky lead man. Even before the blood splatter touched the ground, Keith spun and engaged the next. Not risking a glance back, Keith heard Mori yelp signaling there was trouble. Before he could react he felt the man move out of the bushes behind him, and suddenly there was an intense heat that almost made Keith lose focus. He nearly jumped when he glanced back and saw the charred remains of the ambusher lying behind him. "Mori...was that you?" He shoved the man off and buried his blade into his chest, kicked him away and went after the third when he heard "Yeah that was me, my people have the ability to conjure fire." Though there was a hundred things he wanted to say to her, most of them involving "you could've told me that sooner", all he could muster was a thank you as he cut the third man down. 4 down, hopefully only 3 more to go.
16. The silence was quite possibly the most uncomfortable Ashton had ever felt. He scanned the surrounding area, trying to locate any signs of Chaos, but for some reason it escaped his mental grasp. It possibly had something to do with the body language Jargis and Alia were speaking in, of course Ashton had no problem with interoffice relationships. it was just that their timing couldn't have been worse, they made you weak, and too protective of that one person to act correctly. "Boy, first I thought it was the flames making me hot, but turns out its you guys heating the circle up." Ashton smiled as Alia shot him a "shut up or die" look. Suddenly the smile faded, there was a growl in the darkness. Something was stalking them, something angry. Ashton turned his attention to the area again, this time picking up a distinct figure, though he couldn't get a lock on it. "What do you see Ashton?" Alia's fire was lighting things up good, but even it had its limits. "There's a few of umm Al, they're fast and I can't get a bead on them." Ashton drew his Halberd, the flames reflected off the blade, it gave Ashton chills when he thought about using it against chaos. "They always muck up my blade." he said as he dropped into a ready stance.
17. Though I've been torn on President Obama since the get go, one thing you can't argue is his message. His message has instilled hope in millions of people, as you've stated, around the world. I do have to say though I think once everything gets underway, and people realize that there isn't this instantaneous change, he'll be looked down for it. But I do wish him the best, and I hope, eventually, everything he's promised comes to fruition...otherwise he'll have some issues.
18. As the group walked out of the room, Okaru finally allowed the smile he'd been conceling burst out. It was finally time for a real mission, no cat scratches, no blisters from raking, it was time for the big show. "This will show dad that I'm a real gennin." Okaru's father had been increasingly violent as of late, he kept screaming that Okaru would never be as good as he was, and his beatings were growing more and more severe, a fact that Okaru thought he hid very well. He'd been worried that his father's actions would push him away from his team, put him back in his solitary hold he'd known for so long. But instead he'd tried harder, and now he really felt one with his team, though he longed to be as happy as the other two seemed to be when they were laughing and joking around, he knew it would come though. "Can you believe it? A real mission from Lady Tsunade." Hotaru always seemed to be in a great mood after leaving the 5th Hokage's office. "Yeah I know, finally a chance to prove ourselves" this time Matsuda was equally excited. Okaru hung back with Ryokotsu, not that he wasn't excited, he still wore the smile on his face. Rather, more that he was worried. Sensei hadn't been on a single mission, and it wasn't often that they accompanied their gennin on missions. Only when they were either of the upmost importance, or incredibly dangerous. Okaru didn't bother looking at Ryokotsu when he spoke, even though the senei appeared preoccupied, he would be paying attention to every little thing. "It seems like the missions you've sent us on must've won some recognition Sensei, a mission of this caliber usually go to people stronger then us don't they?" Ryokotsu didn't look up, if he was worried you would never know it, "You three have done well so far, this will most likely be the first real test of your abilities so far. You should be celebrating with the others while you still have some free time." Okaru took the hint and quickened his step to catch up with the others. "Okaru, how awesome is this?" Matsuda patted him on the back as he spoke, Okaru looked up and smiled at his teammate. "It's great Matsuda...great" His voice trailed off, and he was afraid he'd show some of his hesitation. Hesitation that he knew was unwarranted, he was just nervous about the importance of the mission. Nothing more...he hoped
19. In my opinion this post was HORRIBLE, okay not me that was the dissapointment over having to leave without a cookie takling....(thanks for the cameo) Another great post DeLarge, you're really doing a great job. I always go back and forth between this post and the "I forget what you people look like" thread in the Lounge, just trying to picture Chibi-master bouncing off the walls and destroying things. Hope to see a lot more of these
20. Hmm bread and butter? Then I must pose a question to you. What is this particular series' bread and butter? To me (though it wasn't my favorite) FF VII is EXACTALLY what the Final fantasy games have been about since FF III (US). Sure the battles were "hurry up and wait" so to speak, but at the same time that gave way to the esper system (summoning for all you new gen only players). I think there are ways you can evolve a series without switching the battle system up completly. It's been awhile since I've played FF XII, but I believe that you could only control Vaan correct? That takes a LOT of the strategy away, another one of the series perks. Of course these are only my opinions, and far from everything I could say on the subject matter. As I said before, I'm going to be picking it up (by the way, has an exact release date been set yet?)
21. Both of you did a great job in this one. Chibi, your story really tugged at my heart strings. A poor sad little girl, trapped for eternity, never knowing life until she died and saw others live it. Anamoly yours ripped my heart out, I couldn't help but feel a real saddness for both characters. A sort've....failed relationship that is being held together by love itself. My vote for this round has to go to Anomaly
22. DW would be proud DeLarge. That's really all I have to say I guess *sits quietly trying to keep on Raiha's good side for 1 single thread...post at least*
23. I've played EVERY FF title out there, except for FF XI. Something about forcing people to play online gets my blood boiling, but I cannot help but PRAY that FF XIII will be nothing like XII. I know most people looked at it as a refreshing change, but as the saying goes "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." and I think that should've held true. I'm not saying I'm done with the series, I played XII all the way through, though truth be told it was a little like pulling teeth at times, and I'll play XIII no matter what the battle system. I, myself, just can't help be a little dissapointed in the way the series has gone.
24. Nightfell in the clearing Okaru was sleeping in. Part of him wished he would have walked farther with his teamates, but he had allowed himself to much today, it was getting to him, and doing it in a bad way. Okaru had propped himself up on a rock and rubbed the scar on his chest, for some reason it was always so comforting to him. As he gazed up at the stars, he noticed something move out of the corner of his eye. Jumping to his feet, Okaru already had a hand on one of his Kunai's, ready for whatever it was. Chozo stood, just a few feet from Okaru with a wicked smile on his face. "Out late Okiori?" His voice was different from before, he sounded...well crazy. "I was just out for a stroll when I saw you lying there. I thought I should probably pay my respects." "Respects? Is that a threat? You couldn't even handle Hoto, Chozo. What makes you think you'd have a chance against me?" Okaru's blood was boiling. This was the second time Chozo had acted aggresively against him. He wasn't about to let there be a third. "Oh don't take it as a threat Okiori....I'm surprised at you. I figured this was a great day for your clan. The last child of your clan passed his gennin exams, I bet there's all sort's of goodies to be had." Okaru had enough, he had been scanning for any of Chozo's friends who may have been circling him. The only thing he found was a weak chakra signature that showed where Chozo actually was. This was apparently a clone in front of him, odd it seemed stronger then the real thing. Okaru charged the clone, feinted a kick and rolled onto the ground. He sent his kunai sailing as if he missed his mark and kicked the legs out of the clone. As it went down he grabbed its throat, slamming it into the earth. In a splash his water clone was gone, and at the same time a cry came from the tree above, apparently Chozo got the message. "I'll kill you Okaru, after my father destroy's your clan I'll kill you." Okaru could feel Chozo leaving, but he spent sometime checking the nearby brush before returning to his bed. His father would probably be the next to show up with Okaru's luck. Okaru allowed himself to drift off in the clearing, tomorrow was another day. Hopefully a less eventfull one.
25. I was watching Vacancy 2 last night, and a thought popped into my head. Why in the heck would anybody watch a prequel? Now I was one of the people who watched Skywalker's transformation into Darth Vader, and the whole time thought "Is anybody going to shoot down this stupid kid piloting the space fighter?" Then thought to myself "Why the hell am I expecting it, I know daarn well he's going to be okay." So my question is, what do you think about Prequels? I've sort've given up on them (of course as I stated I still watch them). Do you enjoy prequels? What prequels have made you forget that you KNOW which characters survive and what they do, but you just can't think of that since you're so engrossed in the current movie.
