1. Now with respect to Bill Cosby, kids really do say the darndest things...and love pudding. The saying the darndest things, but they can make even the most intelligent people slip up with their innocence. My older sister, who carries two master's degrees one in sociology and one in psychology, was trying to teach my 6 year old niece Multiplecation. Sister: Okay now what happens when you multiply a number by 0? Niece: The answers always 0 Sister: Now what about when you multiply any number by 1 Niece: It equals the number Sister: Now what's 1 x 0 Niece: 0 Sister: Good now 2X1 Niece: Mom what's 0X2 Sister: Nowyou should be able to figure out that, its 2 Zach(Me): (Didn't say anything because he fell from the dinner table laughing)
2. A trip to So Cal and a new ally I can dig it, but I'm sure Inuyasha will PM you with how exactally he'll want you to join up.
3. "Can you guys keep it down, I'd like to sleep for a couple hours." Sitting up from the couch Taryn rubbed his eyes "Go back to sleep Taryn, I'll fill you in later." That type of courtesy was rare for Rayne meaning the conversation he heard either worried or intrigued him. Hoping over the edge of the couch he nodded to Damnia, "Is nobody going to go after Syria? Seems like a bad idea with slutty demon cheerleaders running around. She is, afterall, attracted to hot demons." He chuckled at his joke. "Guess that puts me on it, riding the karma train." Taryn shook his head, Anue rescued him from himself earlier time to repay the favor. Grabbing his coat he ran out the door hoping Syria didn't get to far down the way. It was about an hour till dawn, no sleep again tonight afterall.
4. "You don't hear me rushing, shit" Taryn was cut off by the woman with the cracked helmet's punch barrage, he easily dodged each punch. "You're slower then your friend, and as I told her I will not strike a woman." Taryn dodged a final blow by the woman, kicked his foot out tripping her. As she started to fall he grabbed the back of her jacket, shifted his weight and directed her straight into the same brick wall her partner broke her hand on. The face sheild of the helmet smashed, and the woman cried out apparently pierced by some of the glass. As she went down she reached into her pocket dropping a small ball that exploded into a blinding light. As everything cleared she was gone. "You need to knock off the chivalrous BS, you're going to get yourself killed one day." Anue patted Taryn on the back as she spoke, her wound clotting and slowing down the blood flow. "You know, we saw them earlier. We didn't realize it but they were checking us out from a couple of sweet street bikes ;kawasakis I believe. What's say we go see if they left them for us?"
5. Unfortunetly Taryn was caught off guard while watching Anue work over her assailant. Blindsided by a kick to the temple by the other woman Taryn hit the ground, rolling back to his feet he rubbed his head and eyed his new target. He quickly drew his weapon and leveled it at the woman's head. "We only need one of you alive to talk, sorry." As he squeezed the trigger the girl spun quickly, her foot catching Taryn's wrist knocking his weapon from his hand. As it hit the ground it vaporized, a little safety feature to ensure it couldn't fall into the wrong hands without Taryn's approval. "Great, now I have to resummon it again. Thanks alot." The girl lunged, her fists moving quickly but Taryn was matching her step for step blocking each punch and only giving a small bit of ground. As he felt the brick wall behind him he let the girl get in a punch, as she threw her other fist forward Taryn dropped to his knee and dodged her other punch. He could hear bone break as the girl punched the wall with all her weight traveling behind it. Rising up he grabbed her by the now broken hand and squeezed and twisted, dropping her to her knees. "Sorry hun, I don't hit woman." "Asshole" She muttered as she brought her knee up into his groin. Taryn dropped back to a knee in pain, hoping Anue was fairing better at that moment.
6. "Shan pay attention" Jensen called to the she-wolf who was eyeing Bre with a look that he could only describe as a part disdain, a part anger, and a part shock at Bre's powers. Seeing their "perfect" formation was now broken thanks to Bre's move Jensen took advantage of the momentary pause and lunged at the closest werewolf. As he closed in he went into a spin, the wolf ducked naturally. Jensen was prepared and adjusted his weight so his weight shifted and brought his blade in a downward slice, severing its head in a smooth motion. As he rose he spotted somebody watching the battle from a nearby rooftop. Jensen closed his eyes, opened them and was behind the man. As he whirled around Jensen pointed the blade at his throat, "Now who might you be?" Jensen eyed the man's gun, there was something peculiar about it. "I'm the reason some of your companions are alive."
7. If the basement cat is to die, it has to be in grand fashion. I think if he is to go he needs to go in a nice ironic fashion. And being the human dictionary he is, going in a library would be a fantastically perfect death for Allamorph
8. I don't know what you think about this, but my story in the anthology section (you'd have to check a few pages back) was about a group of humans who discovered the reality of the afterlife and developed technology to travel to heaven and hell and kill angels and demons, maybe you could incorporate that type of "cult" into this. Oh and I know its cliche but the idea of the child angel or demon would make a great major enemy.
9. Lol I love them Chibi, the only thing I would change is KG's, the way she threw out the "OB family" idea, her name should be "Don KG". When should we start charging to "protect" other active RP's? ;) Glad to have you back Inu, and Excel.
10. Taryn felt a little bad for his outburst, he hoped losing the second two games to Anue would be a "cover". The truth was it WAS Anue, but it had nothing to do with losing, it was her comment that kept him up. "The more angels we kill the more we give the human race a chance to destroy themselves." Taryn, unlike some of the older demons and angels that were human once, remembered everyday of his human life. He'd even visited his great nieces and nephews a could times, spying on their progress. He also remembered everyday of the war, he'd experienced the brutality of human beings first hand. He'd never seen an angel or demon attack with the ferocity that he'd seen the German soldiers attack with when they stormed trenches. He was surprised how much of his humanity he maintained during the transformation into a demon, he still pitied human beings and wanted to help them...but he killed multiple people during the war, so maybe it was now that he was seeing things from the outside that he was capable of seeing the inevitable end that Anue pointed out. Getting up as quietly as possible Taryn creeped towards the door. Sunup was just a couple hours away and he needed to clear his head. As he reached the door he heard somebody stir behind him. Not knowing who it was he whispered loud enough so the person awake would hear, but hopefully wouldn't stir anybody else. "I'm just going for a walk, I'll be back before daybreak." He eased the door shut behind him and sighed, this was the third night in a row he wouldn't get any sleep. He was actually thankfull Anue handed his butt to him, next time he could let himself doze a bit while she drove.
11. Taryn sat in his own booth brooding over the plan. He hated waiting until someone was in danger, but Rayne was in charge and this truley was the best way to flush these baddies out. He eyed the room, being careful not to dwell on one of his teamates too long incase the angel was in the crowd now. Turning to the girl sitting behind him he pulled his sunglasses down and shot the girl a wink with his ice blue eyes. He'd never risk his eyes being seen, they were too noticable and always drew attention. There was luckily nobody behind his teamate and only she would see him. "You got a light?" He asked sticking a cigarette in his mouth.
12.
I really don't know why everyone and their vaguely attracted to video games with blue people friends think Mass Effect is an RPG and only call it that. Considering you spend most of the game armed with BFG 9000s [or whatever the future of ME2 will call them] they're really leaning towards the FPS part of the gaming compass.
I think Raiha brings up an interesting debate with this. I've always wondered how they considered FPS games RPGs, now in a literal translation for Role Playing Game you are taking on a "role", but with that argument you could say that any game is a role playing game in its own right. I tend to like to keep away from considering them RPGs myself, even with "upgrades" and "choosing your own path" it really seems they just use the RPG tag to attract gamers. All that aside I'm still going to give this title a try, I'm borrowing ME1 from a friend to play through before hand, but the hype on this game is to much to ignore.
13. Jensen was mesmorized watching the three teamates go to work. Sin, Damo, and Nayomi could do more work then his whole team it seemed. Movement out of the corner of his eye drew his gaze downwards, he watched Bre dispatch the huge wolf they were fighting with a look Jensen had never seen...even from a block away it seemed a horrific look of pleasure from killing that thing. It was then that Jensen realized what must've happened, as many of the wolves in the pack around Damo and Nayomi turned their heads as if the death of their alpha they bolted. It all made complete sense even to the inexperienced young man, not all the wolves were beserkers. There were more things at work here then met the eye...and now those more intelligent wolves were closing in on his friends. Luckily the distance wasn't too great for Jensen, he gripped the blade he borrowed from Damo, and in the blink of an eye he was standing beside Malinda. Glancing at the girl he grinned, "You smell like pee." He knew many of her spells required sacrifices of one kind or another. Walking up to Shan he grabbed her shoulder, she turned with a look of feral rage that almost knocked Jensen down. "What is it Jensen? I don't have time for this!" Jensen reeled back for a moment but remembering the repour the others had, it was something that had to be worked on. Standing tall he took all the humor that normally graced his words, and replaced them with a fury that matched Shan's. "Listen to me mutt, there's a pack of intelligent wolves barring down on us, apparently that big brute was there alpha and there coming fast. So get over whatever happened here and give us some orders." Jensen turned away, waited a second and turned his back on her, "I'd like to live long enough to taste some of the food Paris has to offer. An exotic cheeseburger sounds so good to me."
14. Jensen couldn't pinpoint the exact moment that he knew something was wrong, it could've been intuition, but more then likely it happened the moment Damo thrust his hand at Jensen sending him reeling, and just out of the clawed grasp of a growling werewolf. His training immediately kicked in as he saw the wolf leap at Damo, who didn't seem to have time to recover from pushing Jensen out of the way. As he rose to his feet he noticed a turned over table, grasping a leg and kicking he freed the leg. Jensen felt his body melt away, he could literally feel every molecule being disassembled and reassembled right in front of the leaping werewolf. As if in slow motion he dropped to a knee to brace himself and thrust the jagged edge right under the breastbone of the werewolf. The beast yelped and lept backwards, riipping the jagged leg from his chest. Jensen froze as the wolf lept right back at him, he'd never encountered a beast like this in any simulation. It should've stunnd him for a moment at least, however this beast didn't even miss a step. Just as Jensen felt the first claw on his face something whizzed past both of his ears. Two chakras flew passed Jensen, danced around the werewolf, momentarily mezmorizing him before they dove simultaneously into his neck, severing the head from the beast. Turning Jensen saw a smiling Damo, the grin couldn't have been more of an "I told you so". That's when the grin changed into a serious look, and Damo spoke for the first time in a way Jensen hadn't expected. "These beserkers need their head severed to stop them, this is too much for you and your friends. Leave NOW." Jensen started to turn until he noticed the blade in the sheath on Damo's back. Transporting himself behind Damo Jensen grabbed his blade. "Looks like I'm staying." Jensen teleported to the nearest werewolf who had apparently expected him, a claw slashed out with Jensen barley missing the mans face. Teleporting behind him Jensen slashed, but the wolf proved the quicker again. Jensen teleported only to be met with a backhand from the werewolf, he'd let himself become predictable. Hitting the floor hard, the wind knocked out of him Jensen rose to his knees coughing, sputtering for help but couldn'tmake the words appear.
15. He'd had enough, the jumbled mess that was this team surley could not be what the stories had said. Unorganized, without true leadership...there was so much to do, but so little time to do it. Gabe arrose, grabbed Karyn and left the room. A struggleing Karying wrenched herself away "What do you want? A simple "Hey Karyn I need to talk to you" would've worked don't you think?" She growled. Something about her made Gabe chuckle silently to himself, not at her but something about her calmed him in a way he'd not felt in a long time. "I'm going to give you something Karyn...I wanted to wait and let you find them yourselves, but I'm afraid the final night of the lunar cycle is tomorrow. I'm going to give you some instructions, please listen carefully. I choose you because at the moment you are the glue that holds the team together." This drew a look from Karyn, clearly she was doubtful. "You must get the team to the great sphynx, there will be much resistance I fear. Take these," as he spoke Gabe drew a small bag from his coat, it contained all the ingredients needed for the ceremony...except one, "to a small area I will have prepared for you, you'll know it when you see it. You will need Dawner to offer some of his magic to whoever combines the ingredients. Then coat whatever weapons you and the others utilize, such as Calils gun, or even your claws since the material will work on dead cells such as claws, but you must use it sparingly." Karyn nodded and turned away from Gabe, as she grabbed the doorknob Gabe remembered the final ingredient...the one he was going to have to prepare. "Karyn...when you arrive I will have the final ingredient prepared. Know that you and the others will not like it...but it must be done. Now remember the ceremony must be preformed no later then midnight tomorrow." Gabe turned and left, leaving Karyn hopefully not too confused about the situation. ---------------------------------------------------- Dean flinched as the door flew open, though this time nobody entered. A woman's voice filled the room, it pierced straight into Dean's head. "It seems as our brother is interfering Dean, apparently father's plan doesn't agree with him. No matter, he left your little mortal friends alone in thecity. My kill squad is possessing a nearby military base, and first thing in the morning they will be assaulting the town...and in particular your friends with a never ending wave of death. Looks like you'll have nothing left to fight for brother." With that the door slammed shut "Brother?" The word made no sense to Dean...unless
16. Hey I updated my post Inu, let me know if there's something I need to edit, explain more, or anything you just don't like.
17. Name: Taryn Age: 80 Race: Demon Human Appearence: Taryn is a tall darkhaired man, standing at 6'3 and weighing around 212 pounds. His dark hair is cut in a military style. He carries an odd scar on his face that his stubbly facial hair barley covers. He appears to be about 25 years old and is found in Workboots, Jeans, white t-shirt with a leather jacket. He wears sunglasses most of the time to hide his eyes, his ice blue eyes stand out so much that most never forget. Second Form Appearence: Being only a "young" demon, Taryn has not fully undergone the metamorphesis bringing his true power to the surface. As of now he only undergoes a "semi" transformation. His skin darkens from a light tan to an ashen color, he grows a slight bit. He reaches just about seven feet tall and grows to 280lbs. Personality: Taryn is very military minded. If he feels somebody has authority over him then he tends to follow orders, this also tends to make him become a little "bossy" at times. His biggest philosophy in life was, life is to short to lack a sense of humor, fortunetly for him that followed him into the afterlife. Weapons: In human form Taryn weilds a .45 desert eagle, each round it fires contains holy energy, the weapon is called "Divine Baptism". In his enhanced demonic state he can summon a pike given to him by a higher demon, it contains pure darkness energy. Powers: Taryn is able to use telekenesis in a couple ways, each with its own strengths and weaknesses. He can use it to form a shield around himself or others, but can only maintain it for a few seconds. He can use it to increase his speed and agility, but is not able to use it for anything else while he is using it. He can use it in combat for a push or a pull, but cannot use it on multiple opponents. Or he can adjust the trajectory of a bullet or thrown projectile. History: Taryn was a special forces sniper during WWI, he was known as "mindkiller" because it seemed like his bullets were willed to their target by his mind itself. He was killed by a rival German sniper and sent straight to hell for all those he'd killed. He was tormeneted, tortured and made to relive his sins in obscured ways that made him truley believe he was guilty of his sins, and eventually he resigned himself to become what he fought so hard to keep from being, a demon. He gave himself to the "dark" lord, and quickly his combat training made him a quick learner and quick to climb the ladder. Finally, a year ago, Taryn was choosen to lead a small team to Earth to cause some "trouble". He was given his pike as a symbol of his authority. During their mission an angel sent from heaven got in the way, during the battle Taryn's team was killed but he proved stronger then the angel and bested him. The angel's dying words were that he saw a good in Taryn that he hadn't seen before, he then put "Divine Baptisim" in his hand. This allowed Taryn to take a human form, since then he'd been searching for others like himself, others that strayed from the path of true evil.
18. Sounds like you might have a winner Wolfie. I love the comparrison to a "family" KG, because you hit the nail on the head with it. There's few RPs that are a hit, and that last, like the ones we make and its for that exact same reason. Witches (original), Witches 2, Both bands (and we've proved, thanks to you guys, that this second band refuses to die) and others that one of us have created and we've all been a part of. What's funny is you would think with the same people we would be getting "sick" of the same styles, but for some reason it hasn't been an issue, at least not for me, even once.
19. The light flooding the room as the door opened made Dean cringe, they'd left him in a lonely darkness not knowing if his friends survived the attack or not. The waiting was killing him faster then the starvation, or dehydration. The familiar demon captain entered the room, for the first few days in the chains Dean truly thought escape was a possiblity and had been watching the things movements. After seeing the power the apparent leader of this group had, Dean knew the only escape was going to be if god himself intervened....fat chance. "Your friends have survived for the time being, it seems they have a new ally. I also want to show you this." With a wave of his hands the portal sprang to life, instead of a view at the mortal plane, Dean was given the view of an army of demons, all similar to the captain all stripping off their armor, their screams pierced the air. "This is a kill squad, one thousand demons who the lady will unleash on your plane. They will possess a thousand humans from the city your friends are in. They will come at them like waves of black death, and every time the host body is killed they will just possess another. At least that was the plan...it seems your friends have an ally with the ability to actually kill demons...The lady will allow you to speak with one of your comrades through a portal like this one IF you tell us who their ally is? He weilds twin scythes coated with the compound written on that tomb." The portal changed to a still shot of a man with large chains protruding from his wrists, the chains were leading in the direction of the demon from earlier. The mans face was only partially visible, but Dean felt he was somehow connected with that man...somehow he was destined to meet this man. ........................................................................... Gabriel sat staring out the window at the group, he saw Calil walk off on her own. He could feel the demonic presence calling to Calil, he wanted to pursue her. But it wasn't his place... this team had to come together to save Dean, to save the world. The remaining team wandered into the inn, Gabriel silently assessed all their abilities. They were strong, and could survive together, but they needed the knowledge Dean possessed to be able to kill the demons that would soon take them. Gabriels sycthes were currently the only true way to do it...and truthfully he didn't know anything. "Okay guy, spill what you know." Karyn pointed a finger in a gruff wolflike growl that brought a smile to Gabriels face, "Yeah who the hell are you?" Dawner stood beside her, Gabe half expected him to point in the same fashion. "I need all of you together, Calil has been summoned by a demonicc force I can't pinpoint. You must go to them, I fear they could be in danger...except for you. You're staying here" Gabe finished his statement pointing a finger at Pembrooke, the one that for some reason is trying to keep Calil from fully remembering Dean. "If you want to save Dean, then go and find the others. I will find you when its time." Gabriel grabbed Pembrookes shoulder and sat him down as the others, most likely frustrated, set out in the direciton of Calil and Draco.
20. lol I'm sure KG will be okay with that. I was worried you'd never show up
21. Jensen listened and took everything in, and in truth it was a lot to swallow. He'd been a believer in the things that he'd been taught. They were "different" but would be using their unique skills to help usher in a new world. Bringing peace to the wartorn countries of the world, fighting off the "monsters under the bed", and now to find out it had all been a lie? He'd been eyeing the ones called Damo and Sin from the get go, he was amazed that through all this team had been through, and the stories of the traitors had been legendary, they still stayed so carefree. Hell in one day Jensen felt like he'd lost his total identity, he felt lost. He stood up, he could feel that his face was a forelorned look that none of his team had ever seen cross his carefree face. "Okay, so what you're telling me is that all the training, all the fighting, it was all to be trained to kill the same things that are tracking us now?...Well aren't they probably kicking himselves now." The familiar smile creased Jensen's face as a new sense of purpose filled his mind. If they weren't being trained to save the world, well that just means they were trained to save the world from the people who created them. "So I do have one big question for you Nayomi?" The woman didn't give him the odd look most people do when they first meet Jensen and are trying to figure them out, most likely from dealing with Damo and Sin, "Where can I get a burger and fries? Fighting for your life is meaningless if you're not defending a full stomach."
22. I'm going to post this afternoon or this morning, I hope everybody is still waiting... I want to apologize, a sudden loss in one of a troop from one of our deployed teams forced a sudden call up for me. I'm back now and eager to get back into RPing...I'll explain more later to anybody who'd like to know a bit more.
23. October 5th 2998: As long as I can remember my parents and I have kept my secret. At a very young age my powers manifested themselves, and my parents knew what to do. They immediately began moving around often, changed our names and tried staying "under" the radar. Until today I never fully comprehended their skittishness. Today, however, the past has been revealed to me. The "men in black" who have, unbeknownst to me, been following us for years assassinated my mother and father before my eyes. Twin bolts of what seemed like lightning shattered both their skulls simultaneously, and I was standing right in between them. Within seconds, I didn't even have time to jump, I was trapped under a net that wouldn't allow me to move. It was then, that I realized that my powers weren't an accident. It explained why my parents didn'tkill me, or send me away to be killed. I wasn't alone...I was FINALLY going to be with people like myself. Name: Jensen Fellows Age: 25 Ability: Jumping/Symbolic Alchemy January 11th, 3007: Upon recovering Subject 95 9 years ago, we regretfully had to put down his parents who were both renegade mission agents. We monitored their progress until the child was born, and though we lost both parents the child has shown much progress. His jumping ability has proved, as we first theorized, to be a product of a unique connection with the elements themselves. We have tested the use of symbolic alchemy to channel his deap connection and have discovered some amazing powers he is able to utilize; Quick Jumping: Subject is able to jump short distances in minimul time. Thus creating a "quick strike" capability, subject is vunerable in short time he is dissassembling/reassembling his molecules. Long Jumping: Subject can dissasemble his molecules and use the elements themselves (air, earth, water) the transfer over long distances. After extensive training it is found he can move multiple individuals, but each jump distance is reduced by about half of its normal length. Troop Transfer: With the help of a large "transporting" machine, the subject is able to transfer up to 8 people a full length of his jump with little power. Portable unit is being developed, not expected to begin production for a decade. Symbolic Alchemy: Subject shows promise in this field, however due to his nochalent attitude (considering frontal labotomy) his progress is slow. Only small manipulation of the elements of Earth, Water, and Air are found possible at this time. Subject will not be ready to use these abilities in full force at any known future date. Development will fall upon subject in the future. As of now subject has only mastered the art of practical joking, sample of his dna has been taken for further reporduction due to the high probabilty he will not survive the upcoming exam. 24. As far as inu goes he sent me a message saying he was in a day or two ago. As far as excel goes I haven't heard anything from her, but we may have to think of a...plan b with them. I'll have my next post tomorrow morning, finals week has been hectic to study for but at least its only two days long this quarter.
25. I'm a 360 fan myself but I would like to purchase a ps3 when I get the chance. I agree with the statement that the ps3 seems to offer less problems (i say less not no) and xbox live is a blast compared to the lackluster playstation. All in all I love my xbox but the comparisson is to shallow and as I said I'd like to own both.
