1. I'm going to post a sign-up, though I'll have to in a lil bit. One question though...what if I think Aquaman Rules?!
2. I'm going to pm you a couple questions about this KG, then I'll post my sign-up.
3. Hey I want to apologize for my abscence. My home PC bombed, my work PC started blocking sites like Otakuboards and the school library was closed for the first frew weeks of summer quarter. I've managed to prove to my admin that Otakuboards is a site that I use on a "routine" basis and don't spend half of my day on. So I'm going to pm everybody an updated "idea" for the sequel. Then by the weekend we should have the auditions open (I'm going to allow a couple others to join up. Most likely only 2 slots. So if anybody thinks somebody here on the boards may be interested we can bypass the public auditions. Well as long as we have mod approval which I'll work on if the need arrises.). Again I apologize for my abscence and just give me another day to get rolling on this.
4. I've went through a number of pets in my years, the most notable would have been my boxer. She wouldn't be allowed on the furniture, but when you sat down she'd lay her head in your lap and slowly inch her way up. Sometimes she'd take a full 5 minutes to get there but she'd do so unnoticed...unless of course you were the person the 70lb dog was climbing on. Yes a 70lb lap dog... Currently I don't have any cats, but my sisters cat that my dad had for 14 years died recentally. I do have a chihuaua(sp) that I got from my sister when she had her second baby and he got jealous and mean. Though I don't care for him very much. I've had him for 4 years and yet he still won't come when he's called. I have to let him outside and keep him on a retractable leash so I can drag him in before he eats our neighbor. Yes I said eats the neighbor and not bites the neighbor.
5. See GM really isn't one of the problem children in this situation. Really the problem stemed from poor managment of mortage companies and banks since they control the money flow. If they stop giving loans or make it impossible for most people to get them, then unless you're paying with cash GM and other auto companies aren't selling cars since the bulk of buyers rely on loans. First slap around those who drew up plans for the (and I'm going to need a correct name on this) housing act that made it easier for those who couldn't afford homes to buy them anyways. So the more and more money banks lose on these loans cause them to tighten up and then nobody can get a loan for a house. They jack up interest rates so nobody can keep their houses and the end result. Nobody can buy a car or house so we all live in little tin huts and drive dog pulled carts (since nobody can afford a horse) to work. So I say the government needs to do let the larger mortage companies fall and make room for the little guys to show their stuff. Then of course put interest caps into affect.
6.
Or not.
Well since there are quite a few more DS games then what you posted it was pretty obvious that I was kidding. But since that fell short "John I was kidding" there...
7.
That's chibi-master, Drizzt. Chibi-master.
I'm...so sorry. That's all I really can say I read one thing and thought another.
8. Koda had been scanning the area for whatever it was that smelled of danger when the girl bumped into him. She was smaller then him, seemed to be a similar age, but there was something about her that seemed...familiar. "I'm so sorry, I was distracted. Please forgive me." Her voice was sweet, but there was something lurking inside that Koda could hear...or feel. He found himself staring at her, and when he camed to his senses a bit he immediately felt embarassed by his behavior. "I apologize, I'm a bit distracted myself," deciding he was to intrigued to resist he kept going, "do I know you from somewhere?" The look in her eyes seemed to scream "YES I know EXACTALLY who you are" though the tone in her voice was questionable as his was. "No...no I believe I was mistaken" he said before she had a chance to answer. Suddenly Koda felt a sharp pain in his head, the smell of blood. The smell was so potent it was impossible to pinpoint it, but somewhere close by it had to be. He found himself grabbing at his head. Then the voices hit...something called to him. "Baal wake up Baal..." Was that what this smell was... no...wait was he Baal? As if out of the blue the smell of blood left as quickly as it came, though a faint hint of it still brushed the air. Looking at the girl he squinted through the tears the smell brought with it, he looked at her and then out into the streets. Then a voice that sounded so much like a growl then speaking came from him..."Sin is near..."
9. I'm sort've thinking John cheated and just went to IGN and copied all those DS games... I don't own a DS myself, but I was addicted to my buddies Mario Kart and Brain Age. He now has FF III and one of the Pokemons that he swears by.
10.
The thing that was the most wonderful for me was the way it was so compelling and emotional, even though it was entirely animated. If you have a soul, you will cry. More than once. I warned you.
Anybody else feel a true sense of fear when Raiha talks this way? She's right though, I cried right along with my fiancee and 9 year old niece *flexes to show some sign of manliness left*. Though I have to stick with Mr. Fredrickson as being my favorite character, just because of everything he goes through. I will say Dug was a fantastic addition to the cast though, and the movie would not have been the same. *Point*
11. There was/are so many other moves to make in this situation that its sad. As it has been said over and over even in the first couple posts in this thread, not setting stringint guidlines as to the use of the money was in fact...idiotic. Its getting to the point where the only alternative is, as Allamorph said, the one thing that should've been done in the first place. Let them fall! As the big companies like Bank of America fail and have to sell off their mortages, smaller companies who have not yet fallen victim to corruption of seven/eight figure salaries will then rise up to take the reins. Riding it out is what we're left with, and when China comes to collect we will be riding it out with heavier "recovery" taxes on our shoulders.
12. Well KG I can't even count the number of times I've been through this, on the other side of course. Similar to Raiha's bf I'm in the Air National Guard and have been deployed to various areas over the years. Your problem made me go back and look at how many times/how long i've been gone during my 5 year relationship with my fiancee and I've tallyed up that I've spent exactally 1/4 of our relationship out of country, and even more then that if I'd count my drill weekends and in country excercises. I asked my fiancee exactally how she's mangaged to endure during these deployments, ranging from 8 months to 1 month and she told me, and it sounds cliche, that "Abscence makes the heart grow stronger". She says that while I'm gone she simply focuses on the little things in our relationship, like the fact that she's a ridiculously horrible cook and i take care of all that. So instead of trying to push thoughts like that out of her head, she allows the fact that I take care of the cooking to sink in and though it doesn't help ease any pain it does "make me feel closer" (her words). She also spends more time with my family then she typically would. One thing that is an advantage for you that she doesn't possess is your children, everytime you look at your children during his abscence you'll think of him. Every quark in their personality that you say is a little bit of him in them you'll see/touch/feel. Also, one advantage you have in being active duty is a heavy support system. I'm sure there are quite a few women and even men you are able to connect with and share your experiences with. One last thing KG if you need anything feel free to pm me here or add me to yahoo or msn if you have either (my id's are on my profile). @ Raiha (and KG) Thinking about things like strippers and hookers isn't something I'd suggest...though I can understand where it's a better thought then "stepping on a grenade" but its a fruitless thought. This is the exact reason that significant others cheat on their deployed spouses. It's not because they've met another person who's going through the same thing and they've "connected", it's normally because thoughts like this acompanied by the loneliness don't go well together. In the end it's just like Cheese Master said, being strong is what you'll have to do. For yourself, Knuckles, and your children.
13. It's good, I like the use of old english. I'm sure your father appreciated being known as the bald one :D. If this is a typical writing style you use, I'd be interested in knowing if you'd written more so please post it if you have.
14. After taking a roundabout way back to his shack Koda quickly showered and washed the blood off of his clothes, and began once again making his way down the long road to the city. He cringed when he again smelled the cow, the scent growing all the more potent now that the cow was...in pieces. Rounding the corner Koda stopped when he saw the farmer standing over the cow in disbelief. Then, calming himself Koda continued his walking, calling to the farmer when he got within earshot. "Hey Earl...what the heck happened here?" Earl had always been friendly to Koda, ever since his wife passed away it seemed he reached out to the man more and more. Trying to fill the void that 40 years of marriage had left, "I can't explain it. Whatever did this did a good job covering its tracks. Damn wolves...you make sure you be carefull and get your carcass inside before dark." Earl nodded a good day and began examining the bovine cadavar once again. Upon entering the city Koda felt his neck prickle up, it was as if he'd wondered into downtown Baghdad again...someone or something was here to hurt him. Someone or something needed to be hurt... A low growl erupted from Koda's throat, the same animalistic growl he'd heard himself give when he first lunged at the cow. There would be blood spilt by the end of the day...some would be his.
15. The trio arrived back in Konoha as the sun was just begining to send off the last of its warming rays. As they entered the city Okaru glanced to his team, they had come into their selves this mission and though in the grand scheme of things the mission seemed trivial, a sense of accomplishment was hardly something to ignore. "Okay guys, let's head to the palace and meet with the Lady Hokage. I'm sure she'll be impressed on the results of your first mission." The thought of praise from the lady filled all three of the young shinobi with sense of pride that showed on all their faces. As they approached the palace, it was apparent there were several more guards then normal. Nearing the entrance two shinobi guarding the entrance stood in the teams way, "Sorry I can only allow your sensei to enter guys. Due to some activity, we've decided to up the security up here." Okaru felt crushed, of course service to Konoha was one of the main reasons someone choose to become a ninja. Pride was just something that got you killed, but not getting to report their adventure directly broke Okaru's heart. Turning, Ryokotsu frowned a bit before reaching into his pocket and pulling out some money. Handing it to Okaru he addressed the team, "Go have a nice dinner on me guys. I'll inform the lady of our success and our findings. We'll meet tomorrow early and get back into training." Okaru let out a muddled sigh, how could he think about training when they actually went out on a REAL mission. Nudging Matsuda Okaru winked at him to "play along", "Hey Matsuda, with how much Hotaru eats we'd better beat her there. That way we can actually eat something tonight." Without a word he turned and started bolting towards the nearest Ramen restaurant, Hotaru's frustrated growls could be heard...unfortunetly the growls were growing louder as she was gaining on him.
16. Koda yawned with a mighty roar as he awoke in his small apartment. Glancing down he noted a red sticky substance on his arm, apparently the peroxide he'd put on his wound from the fight last night reacted with something he had on his skin. Wiping it away his eyes grew large as the wound was holding much better, normally knife wounds required stiches and time, but he'd be ready to fight tonight at this rate. Climbing to his feet he stretched his massive arms out wide and pulled on his clothes, the owner of the tournament never paid that night. He said it was "tacky" for the fighters to walk out with money, it took away from the ambience. "Bull Shit" Koda found himself thinking outloud. Shutting the door behind him Koda looked out at the magisty of his little stretch of land. The farmer he rented from gave Koda a great deal on the tiny shack, in exchange Koda helped during planting and harvesting seasons. Walking down the long dirt road that led from his shack to the city a sudden craving hit Koda like a hammer. "God I'm starving..." he paused as an odor caught his attention. It smelled like a hamburger...but there was no heat in it. Glancing over Koda noticed one of the cows had wandered over to the fence and was eyeing the man. "What...What the hell is wrong with me?" Turning away Koda walked a few more steps before pausing. Then turning and leaping he was on the cow in an instant, he took the cow down in his initial lunge. As the cow struggled beneath him, Koda unsheathed his knife and plunged it into the cows main artery. Then in a sinister twist the flailing stopped. Koda came to his senses a few moments later as he stopped and noticed he'd eaten about a quarter of the massive cow...almost gagging he jumped to his feet and tore threw the woods. Hopefully the farmer would blame it on a pack of wolves...hopefully.
17. I haven't heard that, though I'd like to see a MGS game on the Xbox. I doubt I'll play it, unless it gets great reviews...Raiden annoys me.
18. With that logic you must be saying that ALL cars are subpar since nobody is buying much of anything due to the downed economy. Chrysler folded faster then they did, so you can't base that on the quality of a GM vehicle.
19.
Also you spelt Baal wrong Mr. Mighty ;)
Well...let's just chalk it up to me trying to get into character :shifty:
20.
And I would never buy a GM car, unless they proved to me that their quality was up to par with overseas cars.
I think you have to take them on a case by case basis. While there are a few foreign auto-makers that are pretty consistent, Hyundai and Toyota come to mind as cars people by and you typically don't hear to many negative things about. But saying that GM's quality is subpar to anything else is a little harsh.
21.
Can anyone say advantage? ^_~
There only advantage is for you to get this thing a rolling so I can start beating things!
22.
It's not like if GM goes to crap we'll all die in a carless apocalyptic hell pit...
Without GM we'll just all cease to exist you silly chibi. So being carless won't really matter
23. I didn't say I wasn't juding the majority, I said I wasn't judging the whole group if you want to get nitty gritty about it. And I come from a city with a strong catholic influence (3 large catholic churches, 2 elementary and a high school) in the city limits. They catholics that I've dealt with are in fact very open to treat protestants as people when it comes to everyday lives, but when it comes to religous topics its is in fact "you don't believe what we believe so you're wrong and going to hell for it." Other then that I've spent plenty of time serving with catholics and the like.... So now I'm rambling again when my whole point was I say i was using the term TYPICALLY and not to confuse it with the whole group. The majority is not the whole group
24. I must say that assuming we will not hear the beating of the insidious wings as they descend is a folley. I must say the only true worry I face is our mechanical rivals, for technology is truley the bane of nature. For the rest of you, please take note that it is not only we you must fear. Other denziens of the forests will be at our aid, so please don't assume that "nature's warriors" will be without our own "tricks". If a chronos screams in the woods and three baal's are around to hear it, who cares?
25. Dean nodded to Dawner as he passed him in the hallway, he felt bad not stopping but he had one thing in mind, one agenda to fullfill. Storming into the room Calil seemed to half jump up, startled. Though having her "cool" exterior she hid it well, or maybe she didn't jump Dean wasn't worried. Without a word he grabbed a chair and moved it by the window, opening it as he set it down. Looking to Calil he pointed to it, "Sit" was all he said. Looking shoocked he would talk to her that way she obeyed immediately. Then walking to the other side of the room Dean stood by the door with his arms crossed, thinking of the words to say. "Calil, you need to get your nose out of those books." He tried mocking her tone when she used to tell him the same. "Your answer won't come from any of those, hell it won't come from any of us. The only way you're going to get an answer is to just deal with it until a cure is obtained, and then and only then will you be ready." Dean marched up to her, the fumes were tolerable but he could feel their potency. "I love you Calil, you know that. But I also love our cause, and I can understand wanting to support it no matter what. I'll support your decision when the time comes, but for now you can't hide from the others. We'll have the team start putting vents and everything else in. For now we're having a team meeting in 20 minutes. I have an announcement to make." Dean started out, he was more determined at that moment to fullfill what he decided the moment the gates closed on Holdren....
