Looks like the boards has gained new blood since I was last on. I'd love to join, though I'll have to post a sign-up tomorrow morning if that's okay.

Name: Laurence "Locke" Vallence Age: 21 Gender: Male Classification: Craft User; teleportation; Laurence discovered his powers only 6 short mothos ago while attempting to rob a local gas station. As he was emptying the cash register the store clerk burst out of the store room with a sawed off shotgun, he saw the barrel flash and then was lying face down in the middle of a half-flooded street with no recollection of what had occured, only an ominous feeling of dread and terror tingled through his body. Years with New STNF: Locke has only been a member for 3 short months since being rescued from a HOPE facility. Appearance: (See attachment) Personality: Laurence was always one who couldn't be trusted, always feeling like an outcast he choose a path of solitude based on whatever petty crime he could pull to keep himself going. He is a practical joker, but usually not the kind people like around. His pranks were always pulled on strangers, and as such tended to border on cruel. His short time in STNJ hasn't improved his social graces, but he has seen the bond many of the agents possess, and yearns to find that same. Why/how you got involved with New STNJ: After the initial feeling of dread left Laurence, he became aware of the prospect of these "powers". No more knocking over little convienient stores, instead he would hit a bank or two and be set for life. Instead he made the mistake of trying out his powers too soon, instead of appearing in the bank he wished, he appeared smack in the middle of a crowded mall where two ex, but still very active, Factory agents. After being grabbed and taken to a facility, Laurence suffered painfull torture and experiments until he'd given up on life. Then after two months STNJ agents busted the facility and rescued Laurence and several others. Snippet: Day 90... I'm more exhausted than I think I have ever been; I am impressed with the training regiment assigned to me though, its really helped me control my 'jumping'. I don't jump just because I get startled anymore. Next week is supposed to be big, some of the higher ranking agents are set to try me as an 'escape' teleorter. Since I have to have some sort've knowledge of my destination in order to take more than one person with me, they plan on having me accompany them and act as an escape pod. I guess I could be ready, they're postponing the training of my powers and having me concentrate on combat training for the next week. I was hoping my first field mission was to be an easy one, apparently I was hoping to much.

Thanks for the welcome, and I'm very happy to be back. With school, baby on the way, and work I've been pressed. I won't be on until Monday thanks to the holidays, but I'm really looking forward to this KG. Inuyasha, do you have anyway of getting ahold of Takuuya, I'm sure he wouldn't want to miss this if he can help it. and Chibi's still running around here somewhere.

(Hey its Drizzt Do'urden, new account same great taste. Couldn't access mine for some reason) Name: Jensen Roberts Age: 26 Gender: Male Job: High ranking engineer, specializes in robotics Skills: Jensen is a structural engineer by trade, but has dabbled deap into the robotic arts and has been asked to accompany the group with a few of his...gadgets. He lacks any combat training, but he knows enough to keep himself alive...hopefully. Appearence: Going to add this later today KG Personality: If there ever was a stereotypical engineer, Jensen feel far from the tree. His personality growing up was always more related to the 'jocks' and 'cool-kids', Jensen would play to the lower common denominator just to earn a bit of acceptance. His take-nothing-seriously attitude has been questioned frequently, but his results always show his true feelings. Weapons: Jensen carries a few...modified weapons of his own design. He has discovered a way of utilizing robotics and weaponry in several forms, though the bulk of his designs were untested and therefore illogical to bring on such a dangerous mission. The main weapons he will utilize are two pistols with wireless linkups to his sunglasses that make him deadly accurate, a shot-gun that fires hollow paintball type projectiles filled with a chemically engineered acid, and a special weapon he is especially proud of, two steel-carbide bladed throwing knives that can have their courses altered by electromagnets in his gloves. Snippit: Jensen didn't bother peeking over his magazine when he heard the door to his workroom open. The only one who ever bothered him was Rawlings, the head of the "New Discovery Engineering" area that employed Jensen. Their only purpose was to develop new devices to better life in the bunkers, unfortunetly for Jensen, Rawlings was a glory whore and would present Jensen's work as his own. "Roberts, I need that rat catcher you were developing ASAP. I'm to present an idea to reduce the rat problem in the storehouse. Let me know when..." "Already been done for a month John," Jensen interupted, "it's on the top shelf of the cabinet on your right." Jensen sighed as Rawlings pulled his device down, but smiled as the man left his work room, smiled because the man had pushed him to this point, and it was bound to be entertaining. 4 hours later.... Again Jensen didn't bother turning his head from his work as the door to his workroom flew open. "Jensen Roberts?" The voice wasn't quite who he'd expected. Turning he saw a man he didn't recognize, which was something living in such a small community. He seemed official enough with his pressed clothes and stoic demeanour, Jensen gulped as he thought about what he'd sent Rawlings out. "John Rawlings spoke highly of you, that is until your little sedative robot put him and many of the highest ranking bunker officials out of commision at the moment." The man didn't break his stonelike stance and personality for a minute, not even when Jensen burst laughing. He pictured Rawlings talking up HIS invention of a no-kill rat catcher that would allow the rats to be then used as subjects for radiation testing in anticipation of the second group to be sent to the surface in search of the 'purifier', a pipe dream in Jensen's mind. "Though we have already choosen the group to participate, we've decided to add another. At first it was going to be Rawlings, but I've decided you may be a better candidate. Pack your thing Mr. Roberts, you're going to help save our world." The man turned and began walking from the office. "You know this mission is going to be a bust correct?" Jensen was an opponent when he first heard the idea kicked around, he couldn't grasp a single machine that could purify the world of radiaiton, he didn't understand that point. "And besides, if the bulk of the board is incapacitated at the moment, how can you make this call?" The man turned and smiled a bit, an uneasy smile to Jensen, "Let's leave it as it is a group decision. You meet your team in the conference room first thing tomorrow." Jensen sighed, he had no choice. He thought of everything he was leaving behind and shook his head. Then he smiled when he thought of Rawlings, "Vacation!" Jensen pumped his fist and ran out of the workroom, now happy for the chance at getting away from A-hole bosses.

Taryn heard the girls ruslting aroud in the next room, he'd played things the "smart" way and got up earlier to get his shower and get ready. Even though there was over an hour before the troop would get on their way, he would depart in half an hour to get his classroom and get his bearings. Afterall, a new teacher showing up with a new group of students wouldn't exactally be the best way to stay under he radar. Taryn walked out of the room, he couldn't hide the fact he was a bit nervous, but only about the mission. He'd spent years now feeling like the "adult" in the group. Walking past Anue's room he knocked, "Come in" was followed by a huge yawn. Walking in Anue was stretching around, rolling over he heard her begin snoring. "Now that's real talent" he chuckled to himself as he walked over and gave her a gentle shake. "Hey kiddo, if you don't get up you're going to spend the afternoon in detention." He laughed as she whined for a "few more minutes." "I'm leaving for school, and I can't unitl I'm sure you're up. Rayne said I have to be in charge of that after...you know." Taryn smiled as Anue's face turned bright red when she remembered the incident where Tahlia tried waking the girl up and met with a barrage of explitives, pillows, and a table lap the hotel had bolted to the ground. Of course it wasn't anything to do with Tahlia, it was a game of russian roulette waking the girl up. So far Taryn had been able to do it unscathed, so far. "Fine, I'm getting up but if I'm in any of your classes I expect an A." The girl huffed as she got out of bed. Taryn rose as well and said goodbye to everybody on his way out. "Wait!" Syria's voice stopped Taryn in his tracks. Turning he saw the girl poking her head out of the kitchen, "Tahlia and I are working on breakfast, you can't leave before we're done." The girls pouts made Taryn put down his briefcase, that only contained papers and a hidden compartment for his weapon, and entered the kitchen. "Wait a second...has Tahlia touched anything except for the coffee?" Syria nodded not understanding the question, grabbing a mug and filling it with a cup he bolted for the door. Syria was a great cook, but Tahlia typically stuck to the coffee for a reason. On the street he hailed a cab and was off to school.

Dean looked at Calil, he'd always known they shared feelings for one another. It was those feelings that made him leave, the feeling of having to lose the ones he loved and the knowledge that he would be pursuded for eternity. It was during those weeks of imprisonment that Dean realized that he was at his strongest when he was with them. "Dean!?" Karyn's voice broke through his thoughts. "Its good to see you guys, let's gather up the others and head towards the pyramids." "We need to get out of the city. Tonight is the opening of the portal to hell, and we have to be there to meet them as they come out." "Wait...shouldn't we try and destroy the portal or try and stop an army of demons from coming to this world? It might just be me but it seems easier that way." "We need to get to the alter Gabe built for you guys to perform the ceremony. We have to have weapons that can kill Sierra, otherwise she'll return time after time. I won't let this happen again." "Karyn, new guy, go grab the others and meet us at the Museum of Eqyptian history on the eastside of town. From there its a direct shot to..." Yuin stepped beside Calil and protested to Dean, "I promised to protect Calil until I find what I'm looking for. I will not leave her side." Failing to hide a hint of jealousy of having to be parted from Calil so soon, he just realized he hadn't let go of her hand since their embrace. "Okay, I'm going to go grab Dunan and protect Dawner until he's done. The rest of you gather the others and meet in the foyer of the museum. Once we get there we'll all go to the pyramids TOGETHER." Without a word he grabbed Calil and planted their second kiss on her lips. "I'm not losing you again." She said as more of a demand other then a comment. Letting her go Dean drew his sword and ran down an alleyway, Dunan was the only one who could enter the astral plane through his connection with Dawner, and Dean planned on protecting both their bodies until the battle was done. -

So many questions, no time for answers. Dean rummaged through a pile of scrap armor and weaponry the creatures apparently have collected over the centuries. "Dean you need to hurry, this things breaking..." the sound of the creature hitting the ground, a soft hissing noise escaped it. Thrusting his hand in Dean felt something familiar, the hilt of his blade drew a smile even as he heard Anya yell for him, and the beast guard's boots slamming the floor as it rushed Anya. Dean rubbed the blade, mumbling the words he learned in his travels to activate the swords true power when he held it. The words "guardian" began to glow, and immediately Dean regained the strength he'd had almost forgotten he possessed. Rushing out the door Dean looked upon Anya, holding the demons sword arm in one hand, and the other holding the creature by the throat holding him at bay. "We need a plan Dean, I can't exactally help escape if I have to hold this thing." Dean ducked under her arm and thrust his blade deap into the creatures chest. Instantly falling limp Anya dropped the creature to the floor. "I thought you said these things couldn't be killed." Grabbing Anya by the arm Dean etched a small pentagram into her right arm and mumbled a language he doubted she'd heard. "Ancient Sumarian, pentagrams used to be protection against evil. Your arm can disable these creatures with a killing blow, I'd do the rest of your limbs but we need to go. Since you seem to know your way around, get us to the center chamber. There's an ancient portal we should be able to use to get back to Cairo....or rather out of this place." "Dean, do you honestly think you can escape? My men will have you captured and thrown back in your cell in a matter of minutes, this time I'm going to disassemble her limbs and skin her pretty body alive." Dean nodded to Anya signaling for her to lead the way. They had to get back to their team, otherwise none of them would be likely to survive the night. -
depends on where you're going, you don't want to waste the best powers on the first mission. I love the idea of the demonic violin player though.

Taryn shook his amazement out, the smile on his face faded as he took in Rayne's last few bars. Putting a hand on the angels shoulder he shook his head, "As much as I would love to have a "reincarnation" of Eyes Rutheford in my class I think that may make us a little too obvious. "You know those preppy cheerleader types, they're probably all members of the choir. Rayne could fit right in, get a drop on them." Anue seemed to be pleading, his voice must've really touched her for her to bring the pup dog eyes. "Its not up to me, but I worry more about him taking a blade to the back when he's singing a solo. A voice like that from a high school student isn't really something you hear." Taryn shrugged and turned to leave. "I enjoy listening to your past concerts, it was a shame when you "passed". Anue want to help me make dinner? I'm thinking pancakes, eggs and sausage." Taryn smiled, he loved brinner. OOC: Glad to see you back and kicking here Inu, and yes Taryn said brinner.

Just as with Band we're all holding till you're ready to go Inu, just take your time.

OOC: I'm not the best at dual playing, so I'm going to switch up colors between Damo and Jensen for the time being. Damo felt for Hath, Bre and Shan, he knew what it was to have to choose in life. His love for Jinx helped him grow, and he knew how much he hurt when she disapeared and then... Shaking himself out of the past Damo stood at the doorway and watched with a grin as the teams felt each other out. The incident with Malinda had passed a few moments ago, and Nayomi had finally passed out. Pulling the marker from his pocket Damo allowed his energy to flow. JB sat at the table shaking his head as the marker floated across the room and stoped in front of Nay's head. "You would think you would want to live to see if Sin's bite would give you an extended life or not Damo." The comment made Damo chuckle since JB wasn't stopping him. Damo steadily made the marker gently touch Nay's head... Suddenly she swatted a hand that wasn't there so quickly it made Damo jump back, even from his doorway vantage point. Opening her eyes suddenly Damo dropped the marker and headed towards his room. He heard a crash and laughed to himself as he figured Nay tripped over the table trying to scurry over it. She'd kill him in the morning, he just hoped she didn't realize she'd have a big black dot to deal with. --------------------------------------------------------- Despite the lighter mood the team at the table displayed, Jensen felt a bit of saddness. It wasn't a secret that there was a love triangle from the get go, it just sucked that one of his friends was going to be hurt...and possibly killed because of it. Excusing himself from the drinking table, an accidental jump onto a very tall cell phone tower during a drunken night caused jensen to take it easy until he felt he had mastered his powers. Wandering into the living room he noticed Hath sitting in silence in the dark, sitting down beside her Jensen patted her on the shoulder. She was at a disadvantage in this situation, Bre's conscious would tell him to pick Shan for the good of the group. And not that that wasn't the right thing to do, Jensen still felt bad for Hath. "Penny for your thoughts?" He asked her sincerely, hoping to get an insight to how she felt. "Wait....what does that even mean?" He scratched his head as he thought about it. Hoping that Hath would take his air headed comment as an attempt to make her feel better.

Dean watched Anya break his chains like they were nothing, crumpling to the ground from his unused legs he rose to his knees and smiled at the feel of freedom. Rising slowly, he was relieved as the feeling returned to his muscles. In a few moments he felt strong, not nearly as strong as he used to be, but strong enough to attempt to break out of here with Anya. "Okay let's do this." Anya began rushing the door "Wait" Dean had one thing he had to do. Turning towards the powered down seeing stone Dean mumbled the words that he'd heard spoken more times then naught. The orb sprung to life revealing the team, most of them regrouping near Calil. They'd survived the rush of lesser demons, but the next wave would be their true test. Dean prayed they would be able to survive without killing any of the humans...but this whole thing was bigger then that...and he doubted Dunan would be apt to playing very nice human or not. Dean mumbled the words the shut it down and rejoined Anya. "Okay, work your magic Anya. Just remember two things, no matter what you do you can't do anything more then disable them here. They're all pure demons and can't be killed by any means other then the compound the ceremony will create, and I've lost a step so I'm going to be pretty useless until we get to the last room on the right of this halway. Its the armory, and they put my sword there." With a nod Anya charged the door, It was about to hit the fan. Dean just hoped they would find a way out before the demons became to much. -

Gaming Which was the first game you have ever played?
Drizzt Do'urden replied to jimmyray's topic in Noosphere
Pitfall for the intellivision, I'd say I was around 3 when I first played it. Afterwards it was Zelda/Mario brothers. -
Well the second blizzard missed us luckily KG, hopefully you faired the same. Unfortunetly the city I live in, due to budget restraints and the fact that the entire city workcrews are already working on a tunnel restoration project, has only taken care of main street. So out of the 15k+ people that live here only those that are close to main street are able to get out, the rest of us rely on people with plows and freetime, or as the people in my apartment have seem to, the one young guy in the complex to shovel EVERYTHING. Living in a building with mostly older people is great, quiet, keep to themselves, until the karma wagon comes and I'm stuck working my tail off.

I feel horrible I just checked this thread for the first time today... As its been said before this...OB clique we have is as much a family as any other. Please let Inu know that, even though KG has said it best, I send my deapest condolences and if he needs a shoulder to get ahold of me. -
I have to say I'm not nearly as impressed with this game as I thought I might be. That's not to say I'm not loving the game after 10 hours of playtime, I will play through it once as a good guy and once as a renegade. I have to say that I think, so far, the game is a good bridge for ME1. I think it still leaves many questions, and though I shouldn't have looked (since spoiler tags are sort've worthless in a videogame thread) but I did and now that I can see what I'm looking at It confirms that all the unanswered questions can be done in one more game.

Gabe finished making the necessary preparations, the circle was set for the group. The knowledge of the ceremony was only passed down to a handfull of individuals, Gabe was breaking so many rules by giving mortals access to it, but his sister had over stepped her bounds. Staring at his work he never heard the approaching footsteps, he didn't even realize an enemy was near until he was airborne. Slamming into a ruined wall Gabe slumped to the ground, a large figure loomed over him. The man was easily 7ftt tall, but Gabe could see behind his eyes into what was truely there. "Looks like you've been busy brother." The female's voice out of such a large man was comical in a small way. "Siera, looks like you still haven't found a way to break out of the holy seal. Its a pity, I'd love to see the mortals put an end to you here on their plane." Gabe scoffed as he rose to his feet, gripping his scythes. "So those are how you broke out, your little toys are coated with the potion the angels speak of. Too bad, now that I have you I think I'll take them for myself." Gabe let the weapons fall from his hands, the chains rattling loudly as they hit the ground. "You forget sister, you can't summon your full strength when you're possessing somebody." Gabe began to arc his scythes meaning to finish his sisters body off quickly sending her spirit back to hell with her body. "I'm still much to strong for you, you're forever doomed to being half your strength remember brother?" Thrusting her hand forward Gabe smashed back into the wall from the force of her will. Approaching with her hand out she kept Gabe pinned to the ground, squeezing his heart with her demonic powers. As she got close a smile pierced Gabe's lips, "You...you were always so gulible sister." "Using his own will he wrapped her legs with the scythe chain that was on the ground, pulling he slammed her to the ground." Gabe began chanting a powerfull exorcism spell, every word bringing pain to his lips. As he finished the world melted away as both he and sierra's spirits were sent back to hell where they had come from. Before their spirits departed, Sierra whispered to Gabe. "My squad will be upon your humans in a matter of moments." ------------------------------------------------------ Dean knew the time was approaching when his team would be tested, it killed him to know that most likely he wouldn't be able to help when the shit hit the fan. "At least their together, they can pull it off just fine without me." Suddenly a nearby voice snapped him out of his one warm thought, "Get your hands off me creep." The door flew open, and in seconds the demon guards had the girl slammed into the wall and chained up as they did Dean. The voice, what of her he could see. She seemed of familiar, but yet Dean couldn't see her face to tell who she was. That is until the demon guard said this, "You aren't so tough without your metal arms here are you bitch?" he growled as he left the room. "Anya!?" Dean found himself gasping as he made that statement. -
I played this at my unit christmas party and I have to say I had a good time with it. I don't think it'd be much fun to play solo, as with most other wii games, but I do think its a good title to get for parties and the like.

I think another poster would help get things back rolling, I've been waiting to post myself, just like in band, but I'm probably going to go ahead and just get something up.

Taryn's face was beat red, he was rarely at a loss for words and even more seldom was it that he lost his cool, but Anue always new how to disarm him. Taking another bite she finally paused in her laughter for him to speak, "You know me Anue, I wouldn't go for a preped up hooker so I won't have any trouble." Looking back to Anue Taryn felt his face get red, not from embarassment but from the thoughts running through his head. Standing up quickly he grabbed his unfinished plate and turned to walk out the room. This trip was finally catching up to him, like Tahila he'd had a past the group wasn't aware of. Unlike her, he could remember the pain from his human life, and something about that moment brought it back hard. "Taryn, you okay?" Rayne's hand on his shoulder made him pause. He let himself remember how much his team needed him to be calm, and his role would be the most easily blown if he wasn't focused, Rayne wouldn't let him be unless he was convinced everything was fine. Turning he leaned in to Rayne, "Yeah I just feel bad for Anue, being thrust into a past that terrifies her." Giving the hand he had on Taryn's shoulder a squeeze, "All you can do is be there for her, just like she may have to be there for you one day." Turning away Taryn sighed a bit as he thought to himself. "Damn he doesn't miss anything...no sense dwelling over it. I have to get ready for school tomorrow." Taryn went to his room, locking the door behind him and began unpacking his clothes, and deciding on which outfit he should wear.
-
I think based on character descriptions and character personalities any of you guys could pass as students, I think Taryn's probably a little too older to pass. So I'm going to cast my lot in as a history teacher/assistant football coach (gotta get close to the cheerleaders somehow. A new cheerleading coach would be good too...though like you said they would know its us.

Taryn glanced at Damia, he couldn't help worrying about this whole Syria and Tahila and how it would affect the three of them in the event things turned tough with this school invasion. The others could possibly pass for high school seniors, unfortunetly Taryn carried an aged look that he doubted would be met with anything but doubt, instead he was going to go in as a teacher. Standing up he walked past Damia bending down, "help me clear the table. We need to talk now." grabbing his and Anue's plates he went into the kitchen, started some water for dishes and scraped the plates into the garbage. Damia entered slightly timidly confirming Taryn's theory the issue with Syria was affecting the girl deaply. Scraping the plates herself the girl dropped the dishes she gathered into the water and turned towards the kitchen door. "Give it time." Taryn's words stopped the girl, but she didn't look at him. "Syria is ashamed of what you do, and Tahila just likes to see people uncomfortable. She doesn't mean anything by it. I don't know your situation anymore then Syria told me, but she feels bad and needs time." The girl turned towards him, she had tears welling up slightly in her eyes. "I...I thought we'd be together forever. I never thought she'd find somebody else." Taryn had planned a big speech about keeping her head in the game, but he felt for her. He felt like an outsider when he first joined Rayne and the others, it took Anue to reach out to him before he felt he was part of the team. "Listen Damia, few people are given the gift we are. The ability to live an extended life here on earth, and some of you are lucky enough to have been to heaven. There are plenty of people, if Syria doesn't return your feelings anymore you'll find somebody. If not, then just remember you have friends here, and no matter how strong your feelings are for somebody, keeping a close friend is sometimes better then losing them forever..." Damia turned an exited, he prayed he made the right decision. He worried she'd put his friends in danger by being upset, but she had a reputation of being strong and hopefully the "love triangle" would work itself out. "Taryn let's go!" Rayne's voice pierced his thoughts. Drying his hands he left the kitchen, ready to get this started.
-
"Monster Cheerleaders and Demonic biker chicks, we might want to leave Syria, Damia, and Tahila here. They might convert to the other team." Taryn chuckled as he turned and headed towards his room. He grabbed his duffel he always kept packed at the ready. Checked his gun and his speed loaders to make sure he had an ample supply. Walking out he plopped down at the table where Anue had set breakfast out for everybody to eat as they got ready. He smiled at the beautiful T-bone and scrambled eggs plate. He began steadily devouring every flavorfull bite, turning he shouted down the hallway. "If somebody doesn't join me soon I'm going to start on somebody elses food."
