The OtakuBoards Nifty Fifty of 2005 (Nominations Thread)
DeathKnight replied to Shy's topic in General Discussion
The Old School- It's popular to be nostalgic on OtakuBoards and I'm going to, unfortunately, contribute to that as I myself have lingered on here for some time and nostalgia can come rather easily. In this time I've met many great people- some of them are still here ******* around in whatever ways they want to. However, many of them have left and faded away with time. While I appreciate our current crowd of interesting/eccentric people I would have to say that all of the oldbies, gone or here, are niftier to me than they are. I can't really provide a long list of oldbie members that deserve mentions but I will say that I (when thinking about those that are MIA), personally, miss BabyGirl, Final Flash, RicoTranzrig and Lady Macaiodh. -
I'd be for it but, realistically, I don't think we're anywhere near a possible world government. Obviously there are many obstacles to having even a semblance of unity on a worldwide scale. I think a good first step in that direction is regional unity- the EU, for example. I'm not supportive of democracy on a national scale so I wouldn't be too privy to any representative system on a world wide scale. I guess I'm nominally supportive of an mad scientist autocracy. Sounds like a fun time, eh.

Name: Corsair (Commonly called); Arkadiy (Rumored) Gender: Male. Age: 49. Caste: Ex-Combat Engineer (Rumored)- Very influential member of the Mob. Appearance: He is considered to be above average in height perhaps reaching, at the most, 6'4"-6'5". His black hair is cropped into a short mess of tangles that he never bothers with. He has an medium length beard that is usually left as unkempt as his hair. His right eye is a cybernetic one that lets off a dull red hue; his left is an ever-changing mixture of blue and green. A long scar runs just above and below his cybernetic eye. His general appearance is considered to be that of a non-Neo Avalonian resident and there is some question as to his origins. He usually wears whatever casual clothing is available, matched with a long, black, hooded cloak. Personality: Corsair is known to enjoy a good joke now and then- but not too often. Indeed, he retains a general air of being somewhat cynical about the world (or, specifically, Neo Avalon) but can have some rare moments of warmth. He is somewhat sharp and his age gives him the wisdom necessary to lead but he is uninterested in proving his mental acumen. He is a mixed bag of positive and negative personality traits but is well-liked enough. Weapons/Skills: He has a mastery over many long-range weapons of the near-past and present. However, his weapon of choice is a light machine gun from his homeland. It fires, with little recoil, armor piercing energy rounds that can compromise most body armor and vehicle armor. It is not graceful by any means- in an era of quieter weapons it is an exception to that trend. He is also rather skillful at a variety of military tasks- sabotage, mechanical repair, logistical organization and more. His cybernetic eye also offers him the option of night vision and infrared vision. Writing Example: Five years prior. ~-~ "I presume you've heard the rumors." Corsair let out a puff of smoke and glanced over to the anonymous gentleman he had been conversing with. Looked dirt poor, talked like an intellectual- a rare sight as of late. "The Chimeras?" Corsair replied and puffed on his cigar. "Don't think it's ********, eh?" "Truth is stranger than fiction. You know how the military likes to dream." The man took a long sip from his drink. The bar they were in served the worst drinks he'd ever tasted but it was about as low key and out of the way as you could get in the teeming city. Corsair chuckled a bit, "Something wrong with a little day dreaming?" "That depends on what their dreams spawn." "True that." Corsair said and scratched his beard, thinking. "If the rumors are true then.. well, I suppose they are pretty lucky. They should get a lot of sympathy.." "Sympathy?" The man had an amused expression on his face, "I pity whoever gets our sympathy." "So you should." "Well, why sympathy?" The man asked as he took another sip of his drink. "Or, perhaps, why our sympathy?" "This city is already filled with monsters. Isn't it easy to feel for something that is similar to yourself?" Corsair gestured to the room around them, "This shithole is pretty picturesque compared to most of the scenery around here. All these people have a dream of something greater and they do whatever it takes to achieve little insignificant pieces of those dreams- murders, stim-trafficking, smuggling and whatever else. I'm not sure if all of this ambitious dreaming is positive or negative." The man looked over to him, "Something wrong with a little dreaming in Hell?" A wry smile came over Corsair's face. "That depends on what their dreams spawn."

Mild winters, Texan summers. Rain comes in large clumps. The storms here are usually loud but not too violent. There is a hurricane/tornado once in a blue moon but, thankfully, not enough to make everyone miserable. Right now it's about 70 outside and cloudy. Pretty nice, actually.

If you guys want Green Team could imply/explicitly state that the enemies they are fighting from the same organization as Red's. Otherwise, I don't really plan to explain their presence there since I can't come up with any reason that isn't cliche.

As Mirrors's warning came to pass, a heavy silence fell over the room. The air was thick with the remnants of the 'battle' that had taken place. It had been more a slaughter than any real battle. MS13 members were strewn about either unconscious, wounded or dead. Some blood had splattered on Kaida's cheek- she could feel it slowly sliding downwards irritatingly. She reached up and wiped it away, smearing it across her palm. Her eyes locked on it and her mind began to wander to her last mission. Could she have.. "Kaida?" Aura cocked her head to the side as she spoke. "Huh?" Kaida snapped out of her trance and looked to her, "What is it?" ".. I asked you what your plan was. Are you..?" Aura peered at her with concern. "I'm alright." Kaida replied and rested the minigun on her shoulder. Ignoring the look on Aura's face she cracked her neck from side to side, "A plan, hm. We've got to secure the children.." A loud crack from behind interrupted her. She spun around quickly, her minigun was already lowered and her finger rested on the trigger. The wall had a long, deep crack in it that seemed to be steadily increasing in size. Finally, the wall completely ripped apart and crumbled to pieces. A humanoid figure hovered outside- the sky around him was distorted. It's color and appearance shifted erratically. It gave him an ethereal appearance- like an angel of death, perhaps. "Eerily beautiful.." Aura whispered to herself. "Greetings." Kaida hailed the man and let her magic flow into the minigun, bringing it on-line. "Here to kill us, are you?" "It's nothing personal." The man replied and raised his hand. There was a snap as one of the extra-dimensional guns appeared. The man grabbed it and pointed at her. "You are merely in the way of our objective."
Best Ending is a different story however; I loved the endings of Suikodens 1 and 2 because of the pure emotion conveyed
when Riou duels with Jowy at Tenzan Pass and Jowy begs Riou to kill him so that The Black Sword rune will leave him.
It's sad because [spoiler']These two friends were forced onto opposing sides because the Rune of Beginning forced them to.

Errr, if I remember right the best ending of Suikoden 2 had
Jowy, the Hero and Nanami running off on a journey together that was implied to still be going on by the time of Suikoden 3.
The other endings were less.. picturesque than that, lol. I'd have to say the least satisfying endings that I've recently experienced were on Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2. Don't get me wrong, the games are fantastic and memorable but the endings didn't match the journey to them, you know? It was kind of a let down.
Besides, I've yet to hear of a war that wasn't waged out of paranoia, greed or vanity.
Oh?
Of course, I am very uneducated on the matter of WWII, but it seems to me that the Nazis had anything to do with what happened at Pearl Harbor. I think that if we had entered the war for what did, then we would've been fighting in Japan and not Europe.
Germany declared war on America not vice-versa. The Allies were actively seeking a peaceful resolution to the brewing conflict on the continent. The policy of appeasement let the Anschluss happen without much reaction and directly led to the Munich Agreement. Pacifism can work in some situations but you cannot expect it to always be the most prudent choice available to a nation, person or otherwise. War (and violence in general) can not and will not stop in my opinion. Saying otherwise is idealistic daydreaming. War is an art form. It takes skill to take violence; refine it, control it and direct it to achieve a victory. More people should learn to appreciate it instead of constantly (and mindlessly) condemning every facet of it.
I think a reality check is in order.
"Reality Check" is a good name for a weapon, actually. Two points to my mother. I usually name mine after random people from mythos/reality/other random things. Izanami; The Epitaph; Theia; etc., so if I was armed with some kind of trademark weapon it would be named something like that. I was thinking of naming a weapon after Desbreko but that's kind of hard to yell all the time, e.g.: Roar, Desbreko! Fear my Desbreko! Feel the wrath of my Desbreko! Oh no, they stole the Desbreko! You have to consider these things when naming weapons, you know?
Darkartic, be advised that as Original Poster you're expected to put more thought into your opening post. How can you expect people to respond to the thread in the way you intend, if you don't answer the thread's question yourself? Tell us which option you would choose, and why.[/font']
You have amused me. Congrats! You get a gold star. *gives you a gold star* Oh well. At least this thread has started off on the right foot now.. um, I think. Personally, since I have misplaced my two demon fang swords recently, I would probably draw them into an intricate, well planned trap that somehow involved exploding sheep of varying unnatural, vibrant colors. This, of course, is only one phase of my plan to lay waste to my enemies but I consider it the most important piece. Other pieces include: Acquisition of many poppies, oil, diamonds, etc.; Learning how to fight with a Bo staff so I have leet martial arts skills; getting a sidekick [anyone want the job?] and not dying to a horde of angry bounty hunters. Seriously though: I'd run to live to fight another day.

Kaida clicked her tongue as she mentally reviewed their options- their advantageous position had died somewhat with Mirror's capture. "Kaida." Vinovka's voice came over the commlink, breaking the silence that had overtaken the room. "Yes? Go ahead." Kaida replied and hoped for some positive news. "Some of the MS13 members are on the move. They are flanking around towards your building.." She paused, "I believe they seek to kill or capture you." "How many are there?" Kaida sat down at a nearby table and flipped open a laptop- though they had only two hours to prepare, they had installed some limited detection systems that were wirelessly connected to their 'HQ' room A quick glance over the system showed nothing amiss but she wondered if they had installed it properly- they had, after all, been in a bit of a rush. She mentally 'hmmm'ed and tapped her hand on the desk. "Thirty or more." Vinovka said after a few moments. "Fully armed and dangerous although they are rather.. unprofessional looking. Even for MS13 members." "Have they noticed you?" Kaida asked and brought up a small administrator's console, typing in a few commands. A diagnostics program quickly popped up and began a self-scan, the progress bar steadily rising towards 100 percent. "No." Vinovka curtly replied to the question. "Well," She arched her eyebrow- everything should be working. "Continue keeping a watch. Be careful, though." "Will do, boss." Vinovka said and the link fell silent once more. Several windows popped up on the laptop as the system detected something moving into the first floor stairwell. Immediately, all the sensors in the building went offline. Kaida grinned grimly and muttered "At least they were working for a second." She stood and walked over to a crate prominently marked with the words "PROPERTY OF THE LEGIONNAIRES". "Boss." Z's voice came over the link this time. "What are my orders?" Kaida lifted the crate open. She took out several sheets of paper filled with various warnings about the possibly illegal nature of whatever was in the crate and set them on the table next to her, "Don't get caught. Don't die. Find a hole in their operation large enough for us to slip through. Don't bail Mirror out unless absolutely necessary. She's a professional.." She paused, ".. shape shifter. Just.. I need something new to work with or else this is going to be resolved in an ugly manner." She set out several lengthy belts of ammunition on top of the papers and rummaged through the packaging within the crate for a few seconds. "Very ugly." "No problem, I'll see what I can do." Z responded. "You might have high tech weaponry but we're still the bloody Legionnaires." Kaida mumbled to herself as she grasped what she had been looking for and slowly took it out. A sleek, black minigun emblazoned with her own personal emblem. She heaved it up and sat it on the table, "It will take them some time to make their way up here. We should prepare." "What do you plan to do?" Aura asked, eyebrow raised. "Slaughter them, I suppose." Kaida replied and looked over her assault rifle. "We will find something we can exploit soon enough. Then we can make a real move." A strange noise began to emanate from the wall next to Kaida. Beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep it went, on and on. She peered at the wall and didn't notice anything unusual. "What in the world.." She muttered and poked at the wall. There was something there that couldn't be seen. She carefully took it off the wall and it appeared in her hands suddenly. "Some kind of cloaking field?" Aura offered. "Looks like it." Kaida said and looked down to the device. The screen on it displayed the number '17' and was counting down with the words 'WARNING' flashing as it went along. Realization hit- she was holding a bomb.

Smoke wafted through the air slowly, mingling with the sunlight that beamed in from outside. Xiuxiu puffed on her pipe calmly, flipping through the pages of one of the many grimoires that were within her shop. She lazily sat with her elbow sitting on the counter, her chin resting upon her knuckles. Much to her displeasure, time seemed to be passing slower than usual today. As she read the contents of the book, the bells hanging from the door into the shop rang loudly as a costumer entered. The sounds of the hustle and bustle outside briefly overwhelmed the stillness of the room before the door finally closed. "Welcome." Xiuxiu said without looking up, "If you need any help-.." "That won't be necessary Miss Li." The familiar voice caused a grin to appear on her face. Xiuxiu took another puff from the pipe, flipped to another page and briefly glanced up as the man approached and leaned against the counter. "Do you have what I requested?" He asked in a low whisper. Xiuxiu nodded and reached underneath the counter, pulling out a small package. She placed it on the counter and flipped to another page in her book. The man eyed it carefully and began to rub his chin thoughtfully. He gestured to the package, "Will it really-.." "Yup." Xiuxiu nodded and scratched her cheek with her free hand. "You can count on it to help you with your problem." "So I will.." He began. "Indeed." Xiuxiu replied with an arch of her eyebrow. "You're sure this aphrodisiac will.. work?" The man's voice had gotten quieter and quieter, even though there was no one else within the store. "You bet." Xiuxiu tapped the package and nodded once, "Satisfaction guaranteed." "Alright, good." The man's voice gained back the official tone it had earlier, "I will take it then, Miss Li." "250." Xiuxiu stated as she flipped to the next page and looked down to her pipe- it needed a relight. She grabbed a nearby pack of matches and took one out. "250?! You said 200 yesterday!" The man was almost yelling as Xiuxiu lit the match, lightly puffing as she relit the pipe. Once done, she shook the match out and tossed it into the trash bin behind the counter. He continued on as she finished, "Come on, that's not a honest thing to do. I'll give you 200." "250." She reiterated and went back to reading. "Damn it.." The man considered the price and became visibly irritated. He let out a sigh and nodded, "Okay. 250." His wallet was already out and he placed the right amount on the table in front of Xiuxiu. She slid the package to him and casually waved, "Thank you for your business." The man growled, "This better fucking work or else I'll.." Xiuxiu looked up and smiled, "Have a nice day." "... Thank you, Miss Li. To you as well." He said and put the package into his coat, taking his leave. Calmness fell over her shop once again but it didn't last long. A group of loud, urban youths entered her shop and Xiuxiu looked up, letting out a puff of smoke. "Welcome~" Xiuxiu said and rested her chin on her knuckles once more, a grin forming on her face. "Can I help you?" "Nah, we're good." One of them said and tilted his head, "Damn, you're a kid. How old are you?" She shrugged and looked down to her book, "If you need anything, just tell me."

Mission #112: Spider Town "I need to get out of this city." ~-~ The Legionnaire's stealth helicopter descended steadily onto the helipad, making no noise whatsoever as it went. The pilot skillfully landed without attracting any attention- a successful landing. A hooded figure dressed in a long black robe stepped out and hastily walked through the rooftop doors. It jogged down the staircase to the next floor and went inside, letting out a low sigh as it pulled back the hood. "Kaida." Z stepped out of a nearby doorway and leaned against the doorframe, "Enjoy your visit to the LAPD?" He seemed amused as she shook her head no. "I have not had to deal with someone like that in years." She said, cracking her neck while doing so. "He wasn't particularly pleased at having his authority superseded by us. I suppose his day hasn't been going that well, though." She rubbed her bandaged arm and cocked her head to the room, "Any change?" "Nothing at all. MS13 hasn't made any new moves. We're all kind of.. bored." His eyebrow arched up as he said the last word. Kaida removed the robe and rubbed her chin, "I suppose we'll have to take the next step then." She walked past him and into the room they had chosen to observe MS13 movements. A perfect view of the massive, decrepit warehouse that had been identified as where the 90 kindergarteners had been taken after being kidnapped. Various equipment littered the room- it had been put together in only two hours so it wasn't too visually pleasing, but it was functional enough. Z shut and locked the door, walking past Kaida and into the room. She nodded to the enthusiastic Mirror, the cheerful Aura and the ever-reserved Vinovka. "I'm back." "How'd it go with the chief of police?" Mirror asked. "He was in a foul mood. I suppose this hostage situation might have ruined his day." She tossed the black cloak onto a nearby piece of furniture, "Since they are not making any moves I believe we're going to have to assess the situation from within." "You are referring more to the 'strange technology' they used, aren't you?" Vinovka said with a questioning gaze. "Indeed." Kaida said as she sat down. "The reports the police gave us were.." "Total ****." Z said as he kept watch over the warehouse. "I was going to say they were erratic but that works well enough." Kaida crossed her legs and leaned back, staring up at the ceiling. "An entire group of children disappears and the only suspects are MS13 gang members wielding 'strange devices'. Are they still demanding Arachnid deliver that insane sum of money?" She asked and glanced back to Z. Z shrugged, "Yes." Kaida rubbed her injured arm again and glanced down to the assault rifle she had acquired from that mission. That battle.. That battle that had taken the lives of too many good people. "You said something about assessing the situation from within?" Mirror asked and pointed to herself. "I could probably get in there using the form I got earlier." On cue, a low groan came from the nearby closet. "Looks like our little MS13 friend is waking up from his nap." Z said and began to walk towards the closet, "I'll put him back to sleep." "I'll handle him." Vinovka said as she stood and walked over to the closet. She stepped inside and there was strange pause. "Mrrff rff ruff?! Mrrfff!" The gang member yelled out. "Oh hush up." Vinovka said and.. Wham. Silence overtook the room after the loud noise and Kaida grinned slightly as Vinovka walked back out. She nodded once, "Problem taken care of." "I just hope you didn't kill him." Mirror murmured to herself. "Well, let me handle the infiltration." Z said as Vinovka took her seat again. Kaida, who was back to staring at the ceiling, leaned back a bit more so she could look at him. "You want the job?" "Why wouldn't I? Espionage is my forte." "Alright. Count their numbers, look for any weaknesses in their defenses, check the condition of the hostages, whatever. Just get me enough information so that we can do this without a heavy loss of life." She sat up and put on a headset. "Stay in contact. If you get into trouble, we'll bail you out with whatever force necessary." "That won't happen." He stated confidently.

Superhero Name: Ratana. Real Name: All official documents refer to her as "Xiuxiu Li". Current Occupation: Owner of the shop 'Drunkship of Lanterns'. Inventory consists of supposedly mystical/supernatural things- grimoires, potions, items and otherwise. (Works for the U.S. government.) Place of Birth: ????? [Was first found within Manchuria in 1944]. Gender: Female. Age: Appears to be in her early teens. Marital Status: Single. Height: 5' 01". Weight: She is too shy to tell. She is quite petite, though. Eye Colour: Unnaturally crimson. Hair Colour: Red. Hair Length: Short to Medium length. Appearance/Clothing: Everyday- Her everyday attire is whatever casual outfit she wants. When working she has been known to wear a traditional Chinese outfit to match the general feel of her shop. She could have a slight attachment to her first 'homeland' as well but it is impossible to tell. Superhero [Click to see her Superhero outfit/General Appearance] - Lacking the desire to have a real costume, her outfit is merely a normal dress matched with black boots. She has debated recently about if she should acquire a mask of some time to shield her identity totally from anyone who might see her but has not taken any steps to do so yet. Personality: Amidst a slightly quiet personality she has glimmers of charisma hidden here and there. She is pleasant when she speaks and is generally optimistic when pressed for her opinion as she sees no reason to rain on anyone's parade. She has a keen intellect and can offer advice to those that desire it from her. She has a rather extensive ring of good, personal friends that she enjoys being with whenever she possibly can. Her attitude with crime is rather low-key compared to other heroes. She is quietly vigilant in her dedication to destroying the perceived evil within Justice City. It's hard to tell if this is out of genuine philanthropy or dedication to duty. Character History: In 1944 the puppet-government of Manchukuo reported to Japanese authorities about a strange series of ruins north west of Harbin. An official investigation of the ruins was ordered and a dispatch of scientists was sent. They discovered an anomalous and unexplainable leak of energy from within the ruins that left them befuddled. Attempts to enter the ruins failed repeatedly but the scientists persisted. Their dedication to unlocking the mystery of the ruins finally bore fruition after a year of continual efforts. Within the newly-revealed inner sanctum of the ruins they found a young girl locked within a crystalline prison. This discovery rendered them completely and totally confused as to who or what she was. The official government of Japan ordered the removal of the entire crystal structure itself for immediate transport to the main island of Honshu where it could be better researched. The excavation process took several months of hard work but she eventually ended up as the property of a secretive research facility just east of Kyoto. They did extensive trials to try to free the girl from her prison. Numerous ways were attempted- cutting it, blowing it up, attempting 'spells', radio waves and almost anything else you could imagine. Nothing worked. The entire, seemingly complex puzzle was solved by, of all things, an accident- a scientist suffered a minor injury with some of the equipment being used. His blood spilt onto the face of the crystal and immediately a crack opened along it's surface. The one crack cascaded into dozens as the crystal prison fragmented with astonishing speed. The young girl descended slowly to the floor and stood before them, fully awake. They stared at her in awe and got only a confused stare back from her. The attempts at communicating with her were met with only silence. Clueless as to what steps they should take next, they locked her up in a nominally tolerable research cell for future tests or experiments. These plans were cut short as Japan capitulated to the Allies within a week of her awakening. She was turned over to the Allied forces who were at an equal loss as to what to do with her. She was shipped back to America and placed in somewhat more cushy research cell. Attempts at communicating with her were more fruitful than the ones in Japan. She was given a home, an official name and, ever so slowly, a purpose for her existence. A decision was made to try to educate her in various academic subjects. She showed a voracious appetite for knowledge [once she could understand what she was reading] and they escalated her education program- she still couldn't get enough. As she learned, the first glimmers of her powers flickered into life within the confines of her environment. Entire rooms full of the most beautiful and sharp crystals as she cautiously experimented with her new founded abilities. Startled at this strange power and her sharp intellect, the American government began to toy with the idea of training her for use as an operative against their new enemy- the USSR. The idea floated around the bureaucratic offices of the CIA for several years. It was hard for them to accept that a little girl could be of any use in a global conflict but it was undeniable that she had potential as an operative. Finally, there was approval from the higher ups to see how well she accepted military training and conditioning. The results were outstanding- she took to the training with the same sort of hunger as she did with academic subjects. A green light was given to train her and within a couple of years she was fit and ready for duty. She was predominately involved in covert operations where her unassuming appearance or academic skills would be of great use. She spent the next few decades in and out of hotspots around the globe- Berlin, Korea, Operation Ajax, Vietnam, Operation Urgent Fury and the Soviet-Afghan War. She skillfully served her country without much question, considering it to be the closest thing to a homeland she had. As the years past her aging was noticeably slower than humans. Forty years had past and she barely looked like a teenager. Even though she looked so young, she had outlived the conflict that she had been created to fight in. The Soviet Union disintegrated into several pieces, leaving the world a slightly more stable place. Within America, though, there was a cesspit of instability and criminal activity- Justice City. She was assigned to try to curtail the criminal hold on the city and has been there for 6 to 7 years. Superhuman Powers: Can instantly manipulate and create any sort of crystalline elements, including glass. The scale on which she can do this is massive and unnerving to most non-heroes. It can be used for offensive or defensive purposes. She has superb agility, speed, reaction times and eyesight as well. Definitely a fighter who uses finesse over strength. Weaknesses: She is very weak to hallucinatory or illusionary powers/drugs and is physically weaker than most other heroes due to her smaller size. Source of Powers: It is thought that the powers are natural for whatever species she is. As she is relatively young for her species it is feasible that she will grow more powerful as she ages. Special Skills: Battle veteran, fluent in several foreign languages, skilled in subterfuge, sword fighting skills second only to Charon's formidable repertoire, extensive knowledge of mystical artifacts. Weapons/Gadgets: A longsword she acquired in Korea nicknamed "Izanami".

Closing Down OB Picture Archive (Get What You Want Now)
DeathKnight replied to Semjaza's topic in General Discussion
Yes, please kill all those older pictures of me. It would be a service to mankind. Er, um, well we could toast to the passing of this grand website. Here's to the OB Picture Archive. Cheers~ -
Well, I guess I should thank DeathKnight for not picking Liquid for the Green Team casualty.
You owe me $50.
*trawls for impressions*[/SIZE']
I am significantly awed. Anyway, I'll post in Green sometime soon. I feel like I've been hit by a truck at the moment so, you know. Let me recover a bit.

My title refers to my current position as Supreme Robotic Overlord of Kyoto. I encourage you to come to Kyoto and visit my opulent palace- there are drinks, cookies and much more for you to enjoy! Harem women/men are available for your pleasure as well, so- don't be shy! My old title was Robot Lord of Tokyo, which is a reference to the lyrics of a song by Clutch. When I wanted a new title I decided to just switch the cities. Lazy~

Kaida looked at her doppelganger in surprise. It was hardly a monster, in fact it was an almost-mirror image of her save for her right arm and eye which had been replaced by cybernetic devices. Her uniform, her hair style- even the bow in her hair was exactly the same as the 'real' Kaida's. A noticeable difference was her armament- she wielded a sizable assault rifle that was somewhat more impressive looking than the magical pistol Kaida used. A low hum escaped from the rifle as energy flowed into it and the doppelganger casually approached. "Greetings~" The other Kaida said and waved with her free hand. "Consider me an alter ego. I must say, I am surprised we do not look much different." Kaida shrugged and wagged her finger, "Don't make implications. I have never stated I am 'good', I simply do my duty." "Indeed. We are both monsters, I suppose." She responded and raised the assault rifle. "Let it begin, then." Kaida raised her pistol and the two began their fight. As Kaida dodged something caught her eye- a slight shift in the appearance of the reflective wall behind the doppelganger. She didn't have time to examine it further as another flurry of magical projectiles streaked towards her and she was forced to dodge. She righted herself and arched her eyebrow at the wall- another one of her mechanical creations was coming out of it. The surface rippled as it left, leaving Kaida in a two on one fight. From out of nowhere, one of Arachnid's webbings ensnared the war machine. It's mechanical eye shot to the left, staring right at Arachnid. On it's belly, a compartment slid open and an autocannon dropped down. On it's top, similar compartments opened and dual minigun turrets rose. All three turrets swiveled around and aimed at Arachnid, coming on line with the same low hum as all the other machines. "Err..!" Arachnid stammered as the turrets roared to life and opened fire on him, ripping through his webbing with ease. Pandora intervened, stopping the projectiles one-by-one just short of their target. "Damn that was close." Arachnid said and let out a quiet sigh. The machine noted the strange anomaly affecting it's shots and leapt at Pandora, catching her by surprise. Arachnid made the save this time, webbing it in mid-air. With a strong yank he sent it flying in the opposite direction and straight into the two fighting Kaidas. Kaida leapt backwards and the other Kaida mirrored her efforts. Between them the robotic war machine slammed into wall and quickly rose, seemingly unaffected. "Why the hell did you design these things?!" Arachnid yelled as he charged the war machine and tackled it. "Call it a hobby." Kaida responded as she and her doppelganger restarted their fight. The other Kaida made the first move, disarming Kaida with a single shot. "Bloody blast it.." She muttered to herself as she found herself at a great disadvantage. With his great strength, Arachnid lifted the war machine straight up and slammed it harshly on the ground. The autocannon was destroyed beneath the force of the slam but the mini guns threatened to blow Arachnid's head off. A green glow surrounded the two turrets and they were ripped clear off, falling to the ground. Incensed, the war machine rammed Arachnid, sending him flying. The green glow spread to the entire machine and Pandora ripped it apart, littering the ground with it's remains. The other Kaida paused for a moment and glanced to the wall- five of the same war machines poured out of it at her whim. "Damn it!" Arachnid spat out as he leapt up and looked at the machines. "Pandora, take care of this ****. You're better at it than me." With that, he went to assist Tetros and Liquid. Pandora seemed pleased with the prospect of testing her newly-strengthened powers and merely nodded in response. The other Kaida smiled as Arachnid departed and turned back in time to see Kaida's fist slam into her face. Another quick hit and the doppelganger was disarmed as well. Her cybernetic arm shot up and gripped Kaida by the throat. Kaida grabbed the cybernetic arm and poured her magical energy into it, overflowing the circuits and causing it to short out. The arm lost all it's strength and dropped Kaida to the floor. The other Kaida was visibly displeased and kicked her opponent in the face, sending her to the floor. Another machine fell to the ground ripped to pieces nearby, sending sharp pieces of metal skittering across the floor. Kaida took one of the pieces and stabbed it into her doppelganger's leg. She let out a painful yell as her blood flowed down from the wound. Kaida rolled away and as she stood, the other Kaida flipped out her combat knife, deftly throwing it. Kaida barely dodged a fatal hit and it sank into her upper arm instead, sending a sharp pain throughout her body. The other Kaida laughed and shook her head, "I'm never out of moves, my friend. Always keep something in store to surprise your opponent." As she said that the hulk of the last war machine smashed into her from behind, sending her hurtling into the wall. She crashed against it and slumped down to the floor. "Sound advice." Kaida said and approached her doppelganger. She was sprawled out on the floor and in visible pain, gritting her teeth from the multiple bones that had just broken. As Kaida approached she leaned down and grabbed the assault rifle. She aimed for the doppelganger's head and fired, definitively ending the fight. "Are you alright?" Pandora asked with a concerned look. "I believe so." Kaida said and removed the knife. She walked over to the body of the doppelganger and shredded a large piece of her uniform. She bandaged her arm up, ignoring the blood that had already poured down it. She went and retrieved her pistol, holstering it for now. "With that done we should help finish off the last -.." Through the sounds of battle, just a short distance away a sound emanated. It was a blood-chilling, inhuman roar that echoed throughout the room.
Um, is anybody going to post in the Body Bags mission?
Done. Let the doppelgangers come as freely as you wish them to. Though, I would like to ask if you guys think we should limit the fights between our doppelgangers or cut them out completely. We could just, say, hop to the mirror scene and figure things out from Sheba being the reflection of Arachnid. I guess we aren't too short on time but squeezing in doppelganger fights and then some kind of dramatic confrontation with It sounds kind of hectic.. and might make some of the action sound forced [or maybe, make it sound more forced :p ]. Oh well. Pardon the hokey post/any errors I made.
