Oh and I plan on picking up the new FF:Tactics game and that other new Square Enix title that came out. But their kind of far off. So keep the recs coming guys. I appreciate it :animesmil
You could try looking for a DS version of Advance Wars, which is similar to FE in terms of combat mechanics. I personally prefer FE because of the sheer intimacy the player can achieve with his units, as opposed to Advance Wars where if you lose a battalion you have the option to rebuild
Meh I have that but it's the same as the advanced version with a few more units. Sort of boring at this point. Oh and I got Mario Kart a while ago. It's fun but I am tired of it at this point. Thanks though.
I just got a DS of my own. The only game I have for it so far is Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings. It's really very good, it adds to the story and characters of FF XII, and it's gameplay - a mixture of action RPG and real-time strategy battles - works quite well. So I'd definitely recommend it to any fan of Final Fantasy.
I didn't like FF:XII for the Ps2 mostly because I thought the battle system was rubbish. I might check this out thanks. Oh and I have FF:3 It's a good game. The revamped graphics really add to the whole thing. Does anyone know of a tbs game silimar to fire emblem for the DS?

The summer is coming up soon and apparently I am gonna be traveling a lot. And whenever I go traveling I always bring my DS. My problem is that the newest game I own is Pokemon pearl. So yea I really need a few new ones. I really enjoy strategy games like final fantasy tactics and role playing games. I also enjoy puzzle games such as puyo pop fever. So anyone have any suggestions?

Well I finally found my damn ipod. Since then I have been listening to Oceansize. One of my favorite artsy bands. http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=22550586 They are pretty damned good. If you like Radiohead,Jesu or anything similar to that you should give them a look.

I read the whole thing and I feel for ya. The fact that you busted your *** and didn't get to go to the college you wanted is really depressing. I really can't even relate to you even though I am in high school myself. I mean people here seem to take pleasure in not working and getting great grades. School is a big joke to everyone. I myself occasionally put in work but I am pretty lackadaisical by nature and it's really hard to give a rats *** if no one else is. Really though if you put in all you can than you shouldn't be upset. If 10 years from now you can look back and say to yourself "Well I busted my *** and couldn't have done any better," then I think your just fine. I myself could have done a lot better and I already regret it. I figure if you worked your hardest in high school you can work your hardest in college. If you really work there I am sure people will notice your efforts. And even if they don't YOU know what you do and that in and of itself should keep you fulfilled. Oh and don't worry about other people. Others are always quick to judge and criticize others when they have no idea how much they are going through. I think it's very disappointing that they talk like that in your own family though. I really don't know how I would handle that so I can't really give any advice to anyone else.
There was this day where I was obsessed with Deftones... than I lost interest. They're good, don't get me wrong, but just not good enough for me. (and please Panache use Prem! lol)
Well I used that before and like...you didn't respond. Anyway yea it's actually one of those bands you need to be in a certain mood to appreciate. Still though I like them a lot. Right now I am listening to Tchaikovsky again. I am wondering whether I prefer him over Beethoven. I still haven't decided. Beethoven usually has a dark feel to his music while Tchaikovsky has this sort of upbeat happy feel to it. I must ponder this more.
But seriously, what are your thoughts on... the human connections that all of us have? Would you miss me?
I guess it depends on how much you invest in the forums emotionally. I use OB to kill boredom so I guess I am not that deeply emotionally attached. So yea if you were gone I would be very bored in the amphitheater...but I would get over it...in about a week. So yea...am I a cold bastard?

I have been listening to Deftones. I really like tihs vocalist. Reminds me of a slightly cleaner Maynard with a slightly more feminine voice(at times). He brings powerful feeling to his songs. Aberinkula listen to Deftones...if you haven't already.

As corny as this seems what the hell I got time to kill. When I was young and my mom would play music it was never the same. She would play a very wide variety of things. Pink Floyd,Depeche Mode,Nirvana,Creed,Sade, and A Tribe Called Quest was the kind of variety she played. When I was around 8 I consciously looked for music on my own. I was really into hard rock and rap music. All really popular stuff. My first CD I ever purchased was Alien Ant Farms Debut album. I bought it for one song and only appreciated that one song (Smooth Criminal). I was actually incapable of accepting it was originally done by Michael Jackson. He was some freak and I thought only beautiful people made beautiful music(I was 9 shut up). From 10 on up I only listened to hip hop and hard rock. bands like System of a Down and Disturbed scared me. I thought they were satanic(to be fair that IS what everyone told me). I basically listened to pop till I was 13. Up till then I thought all the stuff my mom listened to was lame. I didn't have any appreciation for music or opinions for that matter. When I was 13 I listened to System of a Down and Disturbed a lot. I was slowly getting weaned of of popular rap onto popular hard rock. When I was around 14 I was introduced to several bands. The first and most important of which was Metallica. This got me into metal. I searched for it all the time. In about 3 months the only thing I would listen to is metal. I loved it and wouldn't listen to anything else. Then there was Tool. I remembered a song my mom played a long time ago. I looked around on the web for it until I found it. this song was called schism. Long story short I bought every album and all I listened to was Tool. Anything Tool related I would eat up. It was the raw emotional connection I had to it. It touched me on a deep level unlike any other music before it. Eventually however I needed more. So I searched everywhere for some type of music to cling to. Through this I discovered every type of music has something to offer. And now I am open to anything pretty much. I can listen to what my mom listens to and have an actual appreciation for what it is trying to convey. If you read this Kudos to you. you learned a little more about me :). Edit:The bold and Italicized stuff is for non wall of text readers.

I am listening to Eddie Vedders solo stuff. He really has developed into an amazing singer over time. His voice is so beautiful and so soulful. It's amazing. In pure heart it even outdoes my favorite singer Maynard(but Maynard will always be my favorite singer no matter what). No Mroe and Guranted are really great Songs from Vedder. Whoa Mann you need to listen to this now. Oh yea and I have been listening to Bedlam in Goliath as well. Best Mars Volta Album period. I really love Cavalettas(sp?). Its got really trippy lyrics and the overall sound of it is just cool as hell.
Sense all of us play video games whats your top 3 games. 1. Fable 2. Sims 3. Halo
Ogre Battle 64 Most dynamic Strategy/Rpg game ever. Plus it had a killer story with lots of political drama ta boot. Oh and that annihilation animation never gets old. Kotor(1 and 2) I palyed kotor 2 first. So I think that game is closer to my heart. I liked the way you could develop yourself and your followers into whatever you wanted that was really neat. Guild Wars I've put 1,500 hours into this game. Nuff said.

Samurai Horror Tales ep 1-2 So yea this was just some obscure samurai show from Geneon that I picked up before it hit the dirt. Surprisingly it's not bad. I think I am starting to see a plot develop. The characters are decent. The voice acting is scratchy in some spots but not too bad. The animation is a little crude but it's not like...terrible. A decent show for sure.
As far as I'm concerned, a band should define their genre, not let a genre define them.
I agree with this. I think to a point genres have their usefulness. To generally describe the sound of something without having to go into a very detailed explanation. But like you shouldn't just excuse a bad portion of the music just because it's a common trend in the genre. Do other bands do it well? Yea? OK that's fine. But if this band can't do it well it shouldn't do it just so it can fit into some arbitrary genre of music. Because really genres DO NOT MATTER. Whatever you call it's still music. If you write something off before you even hear it because it fits into whatever the hell genre then that's you just being narrow minded. Anyhoo I am listening to Drowning Pool now that Allamorph mentioned it. I am listening to Reason I'm Alive right now. I haven't listened to These guys in ages. At least 9 or 10months. I'm really diggin it.
-
Allamorph you should give Jesu a try. I am positive Jesu doesn't cover their sexy riffs with random screaming. Plus they have a really cool trippy but optimistic atmosphere in their music sort of. It's sort of calming but it still is sort of edgy. I am listening to Jesu now that I am yapping about it. Conquerer to be specific. His repetitive "Ah" sort of create a weird tone to the song. Sort of Droney. Great stuff.
Wait.. is that the song that goes "Theeere's nothing forr meee hereee.... "... Isn't that on Guitar Hero 3? xD Heh... That's definitely one of my least favorites on the game. My most favorite being "Through the Fire and Flames" because its extremely long and fun to play.
Yea it's the only song I really like from Dope at the moment. And Dragonforce sounds extremely boring to me. Some guy with a stupid voice yelling about stupid topics playing fast guitar with little to no feeling.
About Opeth... don't judge them by the vocals so much, Allamorph. I mean... if everyone judged by vocals, then there would officially be no King Diamond fans. Zing!
I could understand if he were talking badly about the vocals why this would make sense. But if he's praising them? Why say that? And I disagree. Vocals are very important in my opinion in genres of music that actually have vocals. If you just gonna get some dipshit who can't sing don't have a signer in your band. Be purely instrumental. [Edit] Bah I didn't read his entire post. I agree with Allamorph still. A lot of bands (not just opeth) sort of throw crap on their flowerpots so to speak with their random screaming.
Completely forgot to look for Porcupine Tree, though. Crap
!!!! Porupine Tree is amazing! My favorite Prog Rock band ever!!! Open Car and Don't hate me are both really good songs. You should listen to them now... Oh yea I have nothing for me here by Dope on repeat. Shut up it's catchy...
Oh I agree, but you know... it's annoying nonetheless. But despite that being fact, I did buy Inhuman Rampage... all of the songs sound the same! But the older Dragonforce sounds different imo. But, I just like 3 songs from that CD. Lately I've been listening to the same crap I have been. And also, to my surprise Waking the Demons by Bullet for my Valentine is an awesome song, I'm going to buy that CD *gasp*
I thought you didn't like BFMV? Anyway you need to listen Knives Exchange Hands and My Hero is Me NOW! Oh yea what I'm listening too... I am listening to Dope,Chevelle, and Coheed and Cambria. Random songs from random albums.

I never actually get any energy from energy drinks. I just have to pee for about 3 weeks. I do like amp though. It tastes like super duper sweet mountain dew.

My names Brandon in the real world. My interests are writing, anime, video games ,music, women:animenose, and generally interesting academic studies(science, history ecy...). I'm pretty laid back and lazy. That said I am loud and I can get work done when I have to. I like to joke around and I pretty much don't think anything is off limits. I often offend people don't apologize and laugh in their face when I'm done. That said I am soft on the ladies. Not because I am chivalrous but simply because their pretty and I like pretty things. I try not to make people upset and I generally can entertain people (when I am not offending them with some joke that went "too far"). I don't really do much besides my school work and mess with my anime/computer/video games/books when I get home from school. Occasionally I will hang out with people on weekends but that is rare. A lot of people I know like partying but I'd much rather play guild wars or sleep. That said I really enjoy music and if I found a metal club near by I would probably frequent it. Oh yea and I play football. I don't like the game itself but people nag me when I don't play because I am so big. So I play to stop the nagging. I didn't really understand what you wanted so I just sort of gave some info about me. So yea.

Does anyone believe in love at first sight???
Panache replied to Lunar's topic in General Discussion
I mean, for you to say you were in love from the moment you saw each other to me just says that after that nothing changed and that love is nothing special. The love didn't heighten or anything. It's kind of an insult to love.
Exactly. Something so deep, meaningful and important can't be so easily obtained. And falling in love with someone and you don't even know their name? I just can't rationalize that at all. -
Dude all Dragonforce songs sound the same. If you've heard TtFaF you've pretty much heard all their songs. lol
I agree. Anyhoo I am listening to Miles Davis and Staind's first album. Actually that's in the wrong order. I listen to Tormented (staind's album...) until I get a headache then I switch on Miles Davis and it goes away. A very good system. Actually that was yesterday. Today I have been listening to Necrophagist and Nile. Mostly because I was to lazy to switch artists that weren't in N. That said they were both pretty decent death metal bands. I would give each of them about a 7 out of 10.

Does anyone believe in love at first sight???
Panache replied to Lunar's topic in General Discussion
something felt right about him and it was the same with him
Y'see that sounds more like a connection rather than all out love. A precursor to love sure.I mean at the very point you met him before you tow exchanged words would you have been willing to marry him at that point in time? (I mean no offense to you, your husband or your family when I ask these things...hopefully I don't offend)
Who said anything about delusional? Rose colored glasses implies that upon reaching that happier state of love or marriage, the person or persons in question are looking back at when they first met and romanticizing it as if it were a perfect moment of instant love.
I wasn't referring to that comment specifically when I said that. I just feel like some mean old man who has no hope for love when I am referred to as cynical or close minded towards love. -

Panache replied to Lunar's topic in General Discussion
That "connection" may turn out to be just a passing fancy when it turns out that person has habits you find utterly loathsome.
This has happened to me many times. I think that the connection may get you close to the person and you may eventually love them. But then the love comes long after the first sight not at the time itself. Oh and Knuckles if you think you think you found mutual love at first sight that's fine with me. I just can't understand how any person can fall for someone beyond a superficial level without saying a single word to them. It makes no sense to me whatsoever. Falling in love with all of someone via one aspect of them is just something I can't wrap my head around. -

Panache replied to Lunar's topic in General Discussion
Oh yea and why do I have to be "Cynical" and "Close Minded" just because I don't believe in a concept that I can't rationalize in any way shape or form without changing my own definition of love drastically? So does that make it fair to call all the people who believe in love at first sight delusional fools?
