1. I am listening to Children of the Anachronistic dynasty at the moment. This was Maynard James Keenan's second known musical project that he was a part of. In some ways I like it more than Tool. The music feels much darker and it almost puts you in another place. I also prefer this older vocal style. His voice just has a lot more passion in it. Here is a link to it's myspace It's unfortunate most of this music is incredibly difficult to obtain. I had 25 hours on my ipod but besides that I haven't got anything else.
 2.
And if you have ever seen Darroh Sudderth, you'd know hes uglier than Maynard James Keenan.
Technically speaking Maynard is a model now. proof So although that guy may be ugly Maynard gets the pleasure of being an ugly model. Which in my opinion still makes his ugliness greater.
 3.
After that, I plan on switching to Porcupine Tree.
Porcupine tree is my favorite prog rock band ever(Well I like Tool more than them but I consider them more experimental than prog). All of their songs are amazing. Right now I am listening to Deadwing by Porcupine Tree. I love the way they mesh hard riffs and soft melodies together to make this sort of surreal atmosphere.
 4. As of now I have a few favorites. I just recently finished watching Tekkon Kinkreet. I am really really impressed by this movie. The animation was REALLY high quality. Like the action scenes were perfectly fluid and the city almost became a character it was animated so well. That's another really cool thing about the show. The city itself was an entity and the people in the show regarded it as such. A cool thing about the characters were that there was a a large group of gangsters. One group stood to some sort of code but was still style and cynical enough to be successful. Then there was an completely evil group of gangsters who didn't care at all about the town or it's people. Finally the main characters black and white were two of the most dynamic characters I have ever seen. It wasn't even their actions necessarily but just how they got to be the way they are and how they survived off of it. This is a recent favorite of mine. If this thread has any longevity I will post up more.
 5.
;807701']So I had to check out some of the bands mentioned on here. Namely Polkadot Cadaver and This Is Your Captain Speaking. And I love them both. :p So you guys are pretty damn awesome. Favourite songs by them: This is Your Captain Speaking - Fear Fear Fear Polkadot Cadaver - Wolf in Jesus Skin Kudos on the awesome taste in music, folks.
Glad you like them. Polkadot Cadaver is a sort of new Project and I haven't really heard anything like them ever.
THIS IS YOUR CAPTAIN SPEAKING.
I just remembered who these guys remind me of. Jesu!!! just with more screaming and slightly more complicated melodies. I am listening to Fear Fear Fear by This is your captain speaking.
 6.
THIS IS YOUR CAPTAIN SPEAKING. This band was one of my favorites the first song I heard by them, called "The Art of Gravity"... It was like that of Brand New. Then, they started doing heavier stuff, and they do it right. :] There's so much emotion packed into each song, with a mix of mellow bits, and then bursts into hardcore, with powerful vocals, amazing drumming, and catchy guitar licks. They're amazing... I can't describe them so well, because it's kind of hard... They have so many good things about their music, coming from many different genres.. www.myspace.com/thisisyourcaptainspeaking1
They are pretty decent. I likes.
 7.
As a result, I've taken up watching RahXephon, which is frankly just another Eva knock off.
Uhh what? How do you figure that?
 8.
And becuase I know Panache would freak, I heard some Polkadot Cadaver today on the TV, they were weird, but very good. Weird name though taking their genre into consideration.
I don't think a genre has been invented for them. I mean on my ipod it says gospel/religious...and I'm pretty sure that's a joke. They have like disco metal core trash metal industrial stuff and things I can't start to explain in their music. but all I know is THEY ARE THE EFFING FUTURE!!!!!!
And if anyone has seen the video of Naruto vs. Sasuke on Youtube
Lol vague. Anyway I am listening to the new fastest kid in 5th grade songs. I needed more of this.
 9.
That is why I've changed my name to Aberinkula becuase I want the album, and I thought it was the best named track, so I used it. It was either this or Metatron. And no haven't baught this album yet, and I've never said I have, lol. I did say I was inticipating the album though.
It must have been DB who said it then. Anyway my opinion is that it is the best Mars Volta album so far. But then I haven't heard that much Mars Volta really and usually our tastes don't match so well. Still I think you will really like this album. Buy it soon...
 10. I thought you bought this album a long time ago? And why did you change your name to Aberinkula if you haven't heard it yet? Anyway I personally think this is the best Mars Volta Album ever made. Like when I used to listen to their stuff I would only be able to listen to two or thee minutes and get bored. Now with these new experimental things they are doing I am intrigued for the entire song and it is a great experience. Definately definitely buy it now. If only for Aberinkula alone.
 11.
You... you just said Eureka Seven sucks?! How dare you... I don't even think you know what anime is >_>
Saying one show sucks implies that he doesn't understnad what the concept of animation is? How does that work prem? It's just a show. Not even that revolutionary of a show. It's just a show. Sure it may be a good show(well that's subjective...) but that hardly makes a difference in his ability to understand what anime is.
Its all romance and all tht crap theres no adventure!!No people killing other people!
I believe this is a very poorly worded way of saying "I like Action anime and Romance anime is boring to me personally." That is a perfectly fine reason not to like something. It just isn't your cup of tea.
 12.
I've only been through 4 dvds for Ai Yori Aoshi, but it's definitely a great show. I just need to light a match under Netflix and get the 5th dvd here. I'll have to start collecting the manga soon.
If you like Tina Watch Enshi soon!
 13. Tekkon Kinkreet Wow this anime was awesome. The animation was the best I've seen in any anime to date. It managed to make the town almost like a character in the story. Now I read the manga before hand so I already had a jist of what was gonna happen. The story is in my opinion very unique and takes a different look at life. Lastly the atmosphere from this show was amazing. The only way I can describe it is the flow and feel of My Beautiful Girl Mari Mixed with the color palette of Paprika. I am very happy with it.
 14.
Depends on the anime I would say. I've been watching some older shows that were heavily edited. I think Fruits Basket is pretty close but stuff like Yu Yu Hakusho? The English waters it down in a way that I don't care for. So I can see how watching the sub would make for a better experience. I understand it's the same for say the first season of Sailor Moon, that close to 15 episodes were trimmed out completely, making the English version an utter joke. And since I'm here, I'll say that is a horrid anime, that English version. What little I watched of the sub was vastly superior.
Yea but that's for a bad dubs and edits. But for something like fruba it wouldn't make that big of a difference.
 15.
I've found that while watching subtitled anime, not knowing the spoken language allows one to place the vocal stresses in approximately correct places, so it may just seem better. Plus, there's the issue of cultural jokes that don't translate (like in Bleach, when Uryu pointedly asks Ganju why Ganju feels he's allowed to call Uryu by his first name), as well as the occasional bad script-reading (like a very unconvincing "Yay!" from Misa during an episode of Death Note).
Yea but it's not so big of a difference that will make a break a show unless a dub is incredibly poor or it has a huge amount of jokes that only go over well in Japanese(but if that's the case then it probably won't get dubbed anyway). Fruits Basket has a decent dub and for the sort of show it is it shouldn't make that big of a difference either way. Anyway in my opinion saying "Oh just watch it subbed it will be good then" is pretty silly to me.
 16.
Okay, I understand that you don't like that thing with too many bo's. I hate it too. BUT HOW CAN YOU NOT LOVE FRUITS BASKET?! You need to watch it in Japanese with English subtitles. The English voices are ick. I recomend that you read the manga for fruits basket. You might like it a bit more than the anime.
I doubt watching it in a foreign language would drastically change his opinion of the show. And I can see how something like that might be boring for someone. "Wow a bunch of kids who turn into animals when they get hugged*changes channel*" Plus more than a few characters were annoying. And sometimes it is really random
(A girl from a tent goes to a shrine oh **** a cat and a rat Person are fighting!)
That said I liked that show.
 17. Beethovens 7th,3rd,9th and 6th. Today has been a ****** up day so I had to calm myself down. After that I listened to Today has been a ****** up day by Beck. Just because it was fitting at the time.
 18. Yi Gi Oh Abridged is really good. It has punchline after punchline of pure hilarity. The Naruto Abridged had one really good joke abotu sasuke Naruto and a log. That one was a real knee slapper. I haven't seen that much of it though. Abridged series are great when done right.
 19.
Steel Angel Kurumi 2 *shudders* It took everything I loved about the original series, threw it out the window, ran outside, picked it up, brought it back in and threw it out another window.
It would have been great if the just went ahead and had hawt lesbian butt secks. But they just beat around the bush showed a little tit and then threw together this ending. I still liked it...because I was too big of a fan boy by the time I watched it to care if there was a plot anymore. Cutsey outfits+boobage=win at that point.
Ironically, 4Kids isn't handling Pokemon anymore. That's okay, though, Digimon was better the whole time.
It isn't? Well whoever dubs it now SUCKS. And Digimon is the ****.
 20.
In this case I no longer have hope for you.
I'm surprised you had any hope with me to begin with. I will admit that the new pokemon dub is ****... I was flippin through the channels and I stopped on Pokemon and thought "I used to like this show lets see where it has gone after all these years." "This is ****!" Is what immediately came out of my mouth. See that's something that goes beyond dubs. That is a direct insult to a child's intelligence.
 21. Meh the differences are minor in my opinion. Neither is better than the other and they are both not very good. But whatever to each his own.
 22. I am listening to a Machine Made God and Days Away Medley. It's the closest thing I have to listening to the Fastest Kid in 5th Grade(since I have heard the songs they have up now like 100 times each). I actually started t get a headache due to the change in volumes so I had to turn it off. Was fun while is lasted.
 23.
Well then in those terms the only difference is that mediocre doesn't even begin to describe the first clip.
Maybe to you. It just doesn't seem that bad to me. But while I judge the voices of a kid show my standards aren't set that high. Both voices don't seem that drastically different to me. In my opinion the manga is better than both 'versions' of the show. And the manga is still not that great.
 24. I've only seen Chobits and Angleic Layer. They were both good anime. I prefer Chobits because I could relate to the main character more. Angleic Layer kept me interested in the same way something like pokemon or digimon would keep me interested. Those are both reallly good shows. However my manga experience with Clamp manga has been bad. In my opinion Tokyo Babylon sucks. It's probably the least entertaining anime I've seen to date.
 25. I thought both of those dubs were mediocre. But then I think that show as a whole is mediocre.
