1. If I had a life threatening disease..... it depends which one. If it was contagous (or however u spell it) I'd probably hide away. If it wasn't... I don't even know if I'd tell most people cos they'd just get upset.. hmm... then again it's never happened to me so i don't really know.
Originally posted by sweetreyes Boy however you deal with all the science could kill me...but I would say you are insane about this stuff because there is no way...I could find stuff like that interesting..
someone thinks I'm insane... I'm so happy... damn insanity test was wrong after all... About the however i deal with it stuff... I dont know how I do.. I just have to... I just thought some people might like to know about the gravity shield thingy.... all the rest of them stories are jus' plain weird... unfortunately most of the stuff i do at uni is too... it's so damn confusing. I thought the first one was interesting though (then again, I would).
  13.
Originally posted by sweetreyes You know I am the exact opposite of you....75% insane pure and 25% insane corupt...HAHAHAHAHAHAHA......
which means youre only 33% as insane. I on the other hand, am only 36% as insane as you, at 9%, WHATS GOING ON? am I doomed to a life of sanity?

............. Deus is dead.... cheers, man. I'm in the middle of the physics PC lab... Oh wait, sorry, I was dead wasn't I... Deus is dead...
  15. Dunno, I preferred the FF7 symbol... ...maybe thats just me (the classic Deus Ex Machina post ender)
  16. 9% insane corrupt ..... hmmmmmm something wrong there.... better add a few zeros to that %
  17.
Originally posted by Cibo I can't sneak out of my house, dog will bark and wake up everyone. But not that I really need to sincec I'm 18 and can do whatever I want. :)
Same here. I'm 18 turning 19 in a month (woohoo... err yeah), but the problem with me sneaking out is that all my friends live a fair few miles away, so if i did it'd be kind of boring... plus if they did live close I'd have to either jump out my window (...... yeah cos I cant climb down cos the patio door's underneath my window, and I've never tried climbing down or up a glass door, and to be honest I don't want to....) or I could try turning the alarm off, but my mum and dad would hear me, and that kind of defeats the objective of sneaking out.
  18.
Originally posted by woody Here is my belief on life. Your life depend on your star sign. You're born on a certain date, and that date determine your destiny. I was born in a bad year, therefore, my life is miserable.
I think you have too much to worry about, woody. I think you should take a break :) maybe you'd feel better after. I don't think that it matters what year you were born on, or your star sign, though it is strange that I have tons of friends the same sign as me....
  19. Since I'm doing a degree in sciences (Physics and Biochem) I have to 'expose' my self to certain bits of scientific literature every now and then. I just get a weekly magasine called new scientist. Some bits can be pretty.... interesting... others can be strange... The rest of it will be pretty dull to most of you so I'll give u a little brief outline of the interesting and strange bits..... 1- Anti gravity- some of you may have heard this already but, NASA has decided to invest $600,000 into research by a physicist named Evgeny Podkletnov, who claims to have discovered a way to shield matter from gravity. I wont go into the details of how he does it, but he found this effect in 1992 by mistake in an experiment, and found about a 2% weight loss in the mass used in the experiment. a few others around the world have seen this effect too, with up to 8% weight loss, and research is now being done to reach higher levels of effectiveness, but no-one is yet willing to show anyone else the experiments for security reasons, after Podkletnov invited japanese scientists to his lab and they tried to bribe his technicians. 2- The Quantum game- I've said something in an earlier post about game theory, the branch of mathematics that allows mathematicians to decide what actions a person or group must take to get the best outcome, but anyway thats what it is. Mathematicians have recently studied a three player Prisoners' dilemma, a game where there are three prisoners which can either snitch on their friends, or say nothing. Ultimately, the result is that they all snitch as this has the most benefit for the one person. However, by using quantum rules (i.e. you can do both at the same time  , confusing eh....) the best result is apparently when one does nothing, another betrays, and the other does both.... yeah, now i just gotta figure out how to do both. 3- Strange new patent- William Carpenter of Vail, Colorado is worried, because he believes that the earth's axis is shifting, due to differences in mass in the earth from excessive mining and irrigating. To solve this problem, he has patented an idea to move seawater from the sea into these empty mines, so as to reduce the difference in mass. A simple idea, but not a practical one. 4- health warning- This has little to do with science but it's still strange, and it was in the same magasine. Martin de Selincourt bought a propane torch saying "contains products known to cause risk of cancer and birth defects... Keep away from flames, sparks, heat and sources of ignition.... Use in a tent may be dangerous...... Never use while sleeping'....... I guess in these days where people will sue because their microwave doesnt say that it cant be used for drying their dog, you have to tell the customer everything.... theres more, but it get less interesting so I'll leave it at that
  20.
Originally posted by Ice Dragon v2 Ok, ok, ok, ok. Hehehe, I finally got all of you stumped. One molecule of carbon, hydrogen, and nitrogen makes up cyanide. Hopefully you should know what that is.
Ah yes I see, H-C=N (only three lines between C and N instead of 2), not C-H-N as i thought u meant.
  21.
Originally posted by Ice Dragon v2 Bah, TN always gets it right. I was hoping for the others to get this. Now a harder one. This is one molecule of each. C-H-N Correct me if I'm wrong TN.
C-H-N? I dont get it either. If thats the structure of your little molecule then it cant exist. Why? cos- C can form either 2 or 4 bonds with other atoms, you have 1. H can only form one bond with other atoms (with the exception of hydrogen bonds, which this one can't have) and you have 2. N can form 3 bonds with other atoms and you have 1. All in all, your missing 3 bonds and one shouldn't be there. Unless theres some other meaning to the question that i cant see. P.S. LM, I heard that story too.... here's the full story, brought to u by Deus's cut and paste techniques 'A freshman at Eagle Rock Junior High won first prize at the Greater Idaho Falls Science Fair, April 26. He was attempting to show how conditioned we have become to the alarmists practicing junk science and spreading fear of everything in our environment. In his project he urged people to sign a petition demanding strict control or total elimination of the chemical "dihydrogen monoxide." And for plenty of good reasons, since it can: 1. cause excessive sweating and vomiting 2. it is a major component in acid rain 3. it can cause severe burns in its gaseous state 4. accidental inhalation can kill you 5. it contributes to erosion 6. it decreases effectiveness of automobile brakes 7. it has been found in tumors of terminal cancer patients He asked 50 people if they supported a ban of the chemical dihydrogen monoxide. Forty-three said yes, six were undecided, and only one knew that the chemical was...water. The title of his prize winning project was, "How Gullible Are We?" The conclusion is obvious.'
  22.
Originally posted by Squashed Snail Sky is a World News channel from what I've heard. It's a channel that has News every hour, from all around the world. We have it, but it's only on Austar for us. I'm not sure if you can get it though..... It might be on cable?
That be sky news. sky is more of a network. a few movie channels, a few general channels, a few music channels, a few nwews channels, a lot of crap. It's satellite based rather than cable, and now it's all gone digital. I think you can guess who owns it....

  24.
Originally posted by Heaven's Cloud Ahhh!!! thet is way to much to ponder this early in the morning. As for common sense, I'm not sure if I agree with you entirely. I don't think common sense can be catagorized like you have it...ie: intelligent people, artistic people, people with common sense. I think common sense is a seperate entity all together. I would like to think that I am pretty intelligent and that I have a fairly good amount of common sense, however I know a lot of people that are both smart and complete idiot all around the spectrum that have no common sense whatsoever (and usually those people are really annoying).
to answer that, I quote an earlier post of mine u probably just didnt see...
Originally posted by Deus Ex Machina thats the problem when you try to divide people into groups. You can form as many stereotypes as you want but the vast majority are somewhere in between them. I think I was a bit vague when I said 'intelligent people'. Most people who do not appear to have a lot of common sense are the 'genius' kind of intelligence that very few of us can ever hope to acheive
Although when I say 'Most people who do not appear to have common sense' I am not including the idiots who just don't have any sense at all (I see a lot of them where I live..... theyre everywhere...)
  25. my hero is.... er......... ... ... *pondering* *contemplating* *loading file* hmmm. I dont seem to have one. I'll go with this, the cartoonish version of me!
