1. Thank you elfpirate. that's a big part of what I wanted to say, but you said it better. No one knows how this card playing rule came into affect at my school, but most of us believe it's one of those outdated rules from the 60's or something. The official rule says your not allowed to gamble, be dice-rolling, or playing cards. I know of absolutely no one at my school who plays gambling card games. The only one that I can possibly think of is poker, and half the kids at my school, again, don't know how to play poker. lol. So because of that stupid rule, we can't play solitaire, old maid, go fish, rummy (sp?), spit, BS, etc. And none of them have anything to do with gambling. Why was I playing cards? Well recently, we have to take these retarded preliminary tests to the HSPA to see if we need remidial classes next year to pass the HSPA. We had extra time at the end of the tests, because the juniors, taking the actual HSPA had testing for another hour. So my friends and I were going to play cards when the Art teacher (a psychopath anyway) yelled at us for having cards out. :/ So that's where that example came from.
2. Do you really have Bi-polar tendancies, elfpirate? Not to be rude, I was just wondering, since sometimes I feel like I have Bipolar, too (it's not helping that it runs in my family, either. >_>). I know that teens and young adutls can go through rapid cycling a lot quicker than most people but mergh. :/ My self-esteem is terribly low. On bad days when I feel bipolar or just PMS-ish, probably a 2-3. On good days, 7-8. I think I've had a couple times where I felt I was a 9, but I don't ever feel really good about myself. I mean, I'm good in math and playing the piano, and making banners, and writing stories (when I get around to them), but I'll never be the best. Never. There's always so many people that are ten times better than me at everything. God, I feel sick lately, whenever I play the piano, because I think about all the people in my school let alone aroudn the world, that are a million times better than I am. Urgh. I really do feel like I'm worthless sometimes, too. The feeling that I'm so insignificant, if I were to die tomorrow, no one would care. I'm probably the only one who thinks that way. >_> *sigh* I hate having no self-esteem. It sucks.
3. I'm rather afraid to start an arguement with wristcutter simply because I don't have the witty comments or the above normal writing skills to combat him, but so what if we don't like to follow stupid rules? Did anyone ever say "I HATE YOU BECAUSE YOU FOLLOW THE RULES?!?!" No. It's okay that you want to follow them, but I think it's also okay not to follow stupid rules. For example, there's this one rule at our school which is really dumb - no card games because they're considered "gambling." Of course, there are some teachers (which I love) because they look the other way, but gosh, some of them just have a really big sick in their butt and I can't even play solitaire around them. That's a bit silly if you ask me. Oh yes, because I'm going to gamble with my the other half of my multiple personality disorder? lol. WARNING. MOVING AWAY TO A SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT TOPIC AREA! WARNING. Moving away from the "stupid rules" category, what about civil disobedience? Breaking a major law to prove a point? Wasn't that what Martin Luther King was all about? And though I haven't really read too much about him, Henry David Thoreau was really all about civil disobedience, too, right? So I think if it's important enough, like the things Martin Luther King did, or what Ghandi did, it's okay to break the law. What do you think?
4. Well that sucks, C. Azul. That kinda happened to me, even without my race. lol. I used to have a friend and we'd laugh up a storm about anything, For instance, shout out strange anime words like "zechs" (gundam wing pilot) just to see everyone's reaction because it sounds like "sex" (and it's German for the number six). And then last year when we went to high school, we stopped being friends. And I felt really left out of a lot of things. I felt like nobody noticed me at all, and that if I were to get lost in the woods, or fall off a cliff or something, no one at all would miss me. Actually, sometimes I still feel that way, to tell you the truth, and it's been a year later. So yeah. No race involved and I still felt left out. I guess that I was left out in a different way then what you're describing, but I know what it's like to be ignored for being a wierdo. Anybody who needs to play the race card to make themselves feel superior isn't worth your time. They're just all jerks who need a life. Actually, twice went I went out of state, to Pennsylvania I went to a fast food place for dinner with my mom, to bring it home (well, to the Pocono house we were staying in). We were waiting for our meal forever, and about two people around us got their orders before we did, and they came in later than we did. I think that in Pennsylvania, things are just slower than Jersey (Everybody and everything goes at about light speed in NJ), but I couldn't help the nagging feeling like it was because I was Asian (well I'm half Caucasian and half Asian) that we didn't get our food as quickly. Sometimes when I do go out of NJ, (to anywhere except Cali and Massachusettes), I get a little paranoid and I think people are looking at me because I'm Asian. Well, that and my biological mother is Irish with red hair and noticable freckles. I think I'm paranoid, but I just can't help feeling like that. >_> The funny thing about that is some annoying & dumb girl at my school (she moved away thank God) thought, for a while, I was adopted. Not because I look different than my mom, but because we have a different last name. Which I laughed at, at first, but I couldn't get over how retarded that was. Just for random info, I live in middle/upper class suburbia with great education, so there's a lot of Caucasian and Asian people at my school. We have absolutely no one who's Hispanic or latino (maybe someone who's bi-racial, but really no one), and about 40 or so African Americans. In middle school, there was a lot of racial slurs against Asians, and there were a couple instances of graffitti with swastikas and racial slurs against Jewish and Asian people within my grade, but I've gotten none of that in high school. I guess because I don't have any classes with those whackos. The year after I left middle school, my mom insisted on a "teach tolerance" program through the school district (she works in it and is pretty powerful), and that was the school theme/goal for the next year. Mergh, I'm rambling, aren't I? Well, like Retribution said, racists will get what's coming to them.
5. Your name caught my eye. ^_~ (Though I'm sure that's your actual name. lol.) I think you got the two mixed up or something, because she's not holding a lightsaber in the first one. Unless I'm an idiot and can't see it. *_*; I really like that one a lot. She has real character and attitude and I love the shading on the first one, especially on her hair (I can't shade for my life. Seriously. >___>). There's something funky with her right (my left) leg. Is it supposed to be leaning against a wall (in which case it should be more bent and her body should be straighter), or is it supposed to cross over her other leg (in which case it shoudl be less bent)? Mergh. I can still see some pencil sketch lines, too, so you might want to erase those. Since you bring a lot of life to your pictures when you shade, it's a shame the second one isn't in color. But it's still good. Again, I like the facial expressions and the way she holds the lightsaber. I get the feeling she's in the desert for some reason. O_o; However, her body is way too thin for her shoulders (disproportionate) and her front foot is quite strange. But all in all, both your pictures are great. I think they're really great. I might have to find you and steal your shading abilites, they're just that good. ¬_¬ P.S.: How did you delete MS Paint? O_o;
6. So then the weathermen with the colors maps that showed (over an elapsed time) the motion of the waves in the indian ocean, from the tsunami earthquake to other parts of the world were completely wrong? Aww, shucks. I don't thtink the rain now has anything to do with it (too much of a delay period), but I remember right after it happened, Cali was getting some crazy waves in the ocean, and places had to be closed because of it. That definitely was because of the earthquake moving the waves. Last year we got 22 inches (that's 56 CM for all you normal people) of snow at one time. And we had two snow days last year. Actually, I'm posting right now because I have a snowday! I love these things *smile* ^__^ I know that in other places, like Thailand where my dad is, a few years ago the weather was really really strange. The temperatures near the late end of the day would turn up to be like... 50°F (10°C). And just so you know, normal weather in Bangkok is like... 90°F (32°C). People were buying stuff like space heaters to keep themselves warm. lol. A couple years ago, I remember Texas got a light snow. In September it got torrential rains. And there's always something wrong in California. Either extreme drought that causes fires, or too much rain that causes landslides. Or the earthquakes from the fault line. Wacky weather everywhere!!!
7. Every time I go to NYC I have a great time, so those are probably the some of the happiest times in my life. Christmas and birthdays from when I was little are probably my happiest memory of all, just because when you're little, everything's exciting and fun, and everything makes you happy. You know? Other than that, more recently, my happiest day ever was a day in NYC. Two summers ago I met a girl at tennis camp who was from Japan. She invited me to go to NYC with her and her cousin (who is in her 20's and lives in NYC). So we went, and we had a really good time. We went to times square and I bought a CD at the Virgin Megastore (thus my addiction to PuffyAmiYumi - ^_~), Chinatown for lunch, and we went on a ferry ride, and looked at clothes. It was awesome. When we got back to New Jersey, Mayu and her aunt and uncle with whom she was staying took me to a Japanese mall with a book store where I bought vol. 1 of Chobits in Japanese. ^__^ Then we went over to an adjacent supermarket with a little order-in restaurant which was cool. I didn't understand how to pick up your order, but Mayu showed me. Heh. ^^;;; (And I bought lots of pocky in that store. Eeee! ^___^) So yeah. That was definitely a good day. A lot of the days I've gone to see plays with my Mom or dad, or when I went to the Met. (art museum), those were good days. So I would have to say that NYC cheers me up a lot. ^^;
8. Wow. I haven't seen anything from you in a while, but this is a lot better than things from long ago. I can sense that you're starting to develop your own artistic style. Hopefully graphic design will give you what you need to continue making great things like this. Yes, they're great. They need a lot of work, but I think they have the potential to be really great. I really like the images you chose. Genjo's really cute! ^_^ I also like the banners where the words didn't go over the pictures (the ones that had just their names). Those were my favorites. I'm not a big fan of some of the images like the first, third, and last one in the second post. It's alright to put words on an image, but not over their faces please. I know you want to put in those words, so perhaps the font is too big? Maybe you should choose a different one [hint hint: pick a different one]? (Actually, you did a good job in the first one, leaving space for the words. It's the other two I have issues with) Moof. As soon as Altron gets back to you on the backgrounds, they need to be replaced. I would say either have the images black and white and the background in color, or if the images were colored first and you still have those lying around, make the images color, and the backgrounds in grayscale. I uploaded two of my subaru avatars (I have like.... 19 I think) to illustrate what I mean (yeah, they're crappy but they get my point across). I really really love the whole "feel" of these images though. Please work on them. I'd love to see the final final result! ^_^

That's because people are intimidated by your work, so they say nothing. Well, to tell you the truth, I don't know/have never used airbrushing. Ever. In my life. So I thought the clouds were really good and they look like normal clouds. I think the stars are fine where they are. After I looked at them more closely, I see what you mean about not being "random enough" but it took me five minutes to figure it out, so I think those are fine, too. I want to know, what the heck is that magenta thing near the bottom? I guess love, right? Since it's called "Midnight Romance." I dunno. It's cool. lol. However, there's too much distance between it (the magenta stuff) and the actual clouds, stars, and moon. It just looks disconnected from the top of the image. Oh, and do something about the moon. It's too yellow. In some circumstances, a yellow-ish moon is good, but it doesn't go with the magenta. If it was more white/blue tinted (like.... VERY light blue), that would be better. The "Midnight Romance" is fine where it is. I like it better than the first version of "I miss you" where the words were very arbitrary in the picture. Good job. ^_^ P.S.: For the love of God, what the hell is that in your avatar?! It looks like Sagitarius to me. lol.
10. Am I the only one that seriously hopes that there is no afterlife at all? Am I the only one that hopes that we all just rot in our graves and thats it? And how does that make me a horrible person? (not rhetorical or sarcastic) I think people on page three/four have said that. (actually, I think they said something different, but were alluding to the fact that it makes me a horrible person. I can't even find what they said anymore. grr...) And for the record, because I know someone's going to say I'm an idiot who doesn't believe in God, I do. I believe that some of the aspects of the religions on earth are to give an answer to what is truly right and wrong. I think as well as being selfish and greedy bastards, we, for the most part, want to do what is right and know what is right, which is some of what religion is about - defining what is "truly" right. Who knows if I'm right, or you're right, or that bloke with the sandwich is right. It's all just opinion and what you choose to believe.
11. I don't mind having the diagonal bar. Yeah, it is a little busy, but if you only had the one going across, it would be boring. If you moved the diagonal one down a little bit more so that it didn't overlap too much with the horizontal one, it might look alright. For the little one - I don't like it at all. Pick another spot to crop the pic. Personally, I would make the "Amadeus mozart" the center of the banner with a few of the bars on the bottom. But then again, I don't know if it would fit the 500x100 standards. If you want to keep the cross section for the banner, for goodness sakes, fix the red writing - it's driving me nuts because I can't figure out what the other words on top of it are. I know I sound like all I give is criticism - sorry if I come across that way. I really really love the concept of this art work a lot. Music is an art in itsself, and if you can successfully bring music to a visual art (which you have, for the majority, done), it's doubly powerful, and makes you an awesome artist. P.S.: Lumi, how is it that you've heard this song and I haven't? >_>;;; Well, then again, I haven't been listening to too much but the USAD cd. I think I understand the Magic Flute now. Queen of the Night is just evil.

*nod* Better. Much Better. It looks more like a painting not that you took that bit out and put the title on the top. I noticed you included the date too, which adds to the "painting" feel of the image. Know that I know what it is, and you've elaborated on it a bit for me *looks at AIM convo* it looks even more beautiful. It's so pretty and sad at the same time. *sigh*

I appreciate your random exclamation points and plus signs. Actually, I thought those were really cool. I like how you left the black in the picture black, and accentuated the details. I'm really glad their eyes didn't turn out red, either. lol. You don't like the second one? I do. I don't know what it is, but it's pretty. I like the diagonal lines that give it texture. It reminds me of these agenda covers I used to had that were textured and holographic. lol. I don't like the "I miss you" in the second one because the letters are too riged/grainy the way they are. The Edges are too rough. When I put words on something, I usually blur them a tiny bit which smooths out the edges. If you printed the images out, it wouldn't matter because the quality of the printer wouldn't pick that up, but I don't think you are so... yeah. But other than that, the second one is really great, too. ^_^ I'm glad you started making images again. You always made, and I know will continue to make great works of art, Marc. Keep making these things; I enjoy them very much. ^__^
14. A couple other examples of common places would be nice, since I still really don't understand what they are/what you're getting at. Would Solo's Enter the 'Net be a common place since everyone knows what it is, and you've even alluded to it in the title on the assumption that everyone knows what it is?!? O___o
15. You know, I would like to say that I'd bring everyone who's watched all the seasons of Survivor. I know that sounds retarded, but you have to have learned soemthing for sitting infront of the TV and watching people on an island for hours. For instance, because of survivor, I now know that fire is the most important thing for survival. See?!?! XD I've evaluated any redeeming qualities of having me on an island, but I don't think I can find too many. I can cook things like rice, but I couldn't skin an animal for my life. *_* But I can boil water! And um... I can also listen to orders and complete them, unless it's something rediculous like "hey, make a life-sized airplane out of bamboo!" because that's just stupid. Oh, and I know the heimlich maneuver (sp). And I can use a phonebook. (I learned both of those in a life skills class once - we caleld it the phonebook class because that was the first thing we did). Oh, and I want JCBaggee on my island. I think he's in the USAF. Or he's going to be, anyway. So people in the military are definitely on my island. =)
16. Wow. It turns out nobody likes group projects. Whatever projects I've been involved in have always involved people who are decent and do their work, but it didn't stop me from being nervous. One time, my partner and I worked separately and just did the presentation together, and that was the only time I wasn't worried because I knew he was an over-achiever and wouldn't screw anything up. I was actually worried I'd get us a bad grade, but we got an A, so it was all good. ^_^; Oh wait, I can mention a time when I had a crappy partner. She was a lazy b***h who seriously pissed me off, and did all ehr work at the last minute and didn't look as great. I had to work with her several times in this one class (along with other people who were normal), but luckily the teacher was understanding and such. I've had two group projects this year, both that we did in class, so it was all finished. And when I get a job, I'm specifically looking for one where there is no group collaboration. I seriously do NOT want to have to work with other people, as with my lucky, I'd get suck with an annoying a-hole. ~_~
17. Yes, I saw the response to my last post. Chabichou said what I would have said if that were me. Er... yeah. Moving in a different direction... In the past, there used to be a lot of bride buying (okay, there still is, which is retarded. Someone needs to blow up those who are trafficking people). When I was studying immigration in 8th grade, we did a lot with Ellis Island because well, I live in frickin' New Jersey. But we also talked about Angel Island (which is in uhm... San Fran., I believe. Someone correct me if I'm wrong - I seem to have an abysmally poor memory for its city). And in Language Arts, we read a short story, fictional, although I'm sure similar situations did occur in real life (actually, there used to be the "picture brides" if anyone knows about them). Anyway, the story was about a Japanese woman from a poor family whose marriage was arranged, but her future husband lived in America, so she went on a ship to Angel Island, and met her future husband, etc., but she did it so she could come to America, the land of opportunity. (Just shut up about the epithet of America. It's a different time period, so don't be an annoying politically correct jerk.) Now, I know that all that sort of stuff happened a long time ago, blah blah blah, but I was just curious, what would you do in a situation like that? Would you go along with it, so you could come to America to start a new life, or would you absolutely refuse to be married to someone you didn't know at all? Everybody's response will be different, but its just a question to ponder.
18. Why don't you leave Chabichou alone with her marriage, Godel. I don't think she has a problem with doing things "differently" i.e. not the western way, (and you should also respect that), so why should you? Hmm.... I don't really know much about arranged marriages in China or India, but here's a good, very objective link to a site that explains the dowry system in India (and most of it corresponds to what I read in a craptastic book last year). I had already written out my explanation of the "arranged marriage" system in India, but it was very one-sided and I thought that would be unfair to you guys. So, here's the link. Just read it, it's NOT VERY LONG, okay? http://www.pardesiservices.com/tradition/arrangedmarg.asp NOW READ THE LINK BEFORE I BASH IN YOUR HEAD!!!!!!!! >O Toward the end, they talk about unhappy dowry situations. Lisa Ling did a story back in 2004 about one woman about to get married. On the day of the wedding, the husband-to-be was asking her father for more and more dowries (I think he had already given the guy two fridges, four plasma TVs, and a some microwaves), and because the father obviously didn't have that kind of money at the moment, he stared pushing the father around. He began to fight with the father, and she did the "unthinkable" and called the cops on him. More and more women did the same after hearing about her case, but many still did not. There's really a lot of female inequality that goes on in India, probably from cradle to grave. I mean, have you seen the female infanticide numbers? If I can dig up my report on it last year, I'll give you the statistics. It's crazy. Switching gears now... Heh. the funny thing was, when I saw the title of this thread, I thought "OMG!!! WUFEI AND MEIRAN!!!!" which, for you Gundam Wing buffs, is a couple that got married at age 14 (on an anime show, duh). I think the man does give a dowry to the women's family, and he pays for the entire wedding, too. Of course, for men in China, finding a mate is becoming more and more difficult because of the stupidity of female infanticide. HELLO YOU PEOPLE AND YOUR MALECENTRIC CULTURES ARE CRAZY (*wink wink*). I've never really heard or read about a lot of arranged marriage in China over the last couple decades. I think it used to be very much forced, but now, it's probably more loose, and the two people don't have to be married, today. What do I know. I couldn't find any good resources on it. Tell me if you see one. And by the way, who says that these "arranged" marriages are a bad thing? Yes, the can definitely be that way, but people can also turn out all right. As the divorce rate in the country is over 50% I don't think that by arranging these marriages, they're doing any worse than we are. Yes, I am fully aware that some women in such a marriage are beaten within an inch of their life, and I seriously think that that needs to stop. The governments of those countries have to get their heads out of the sand (I've heard a lot about it in India) and step up to the plate. However, this has little bearing on the arranged marriage part and has more to do with laws to protect these women (along with a change in culture), because people in America get married of their own free will and sometimes the woman gets beaten anyway (which also needs to stop, but again, has no bearing on the way they got married in terms of arranged or not).
19. Here, I'll copy and paste from my myOtaku, because I'm just that lazy. "My V-day was better than it has been in past years. I got a rose from Marlena and I played DDR at the singles only party! ^__^ My opthamologist is a jerk though. She almost made me cry, and I thought it was going to ruin my day, but when I got home, I listend to t.A.T.u and that made me feel better. She's such a jerk though. She was very frank and cold to me when I was in the eye room alone with her, but as soon as my mom comes in she's all happy and cheery. What a two-faced jerk, I tell you. *throws tomatoe at opthamologist*" For those of you that didn't have a good day, don't worry. I haven't had a good Valentine's day since fourth grade, and I'm dead serious. The holiday needs to be abolished I tell you. lol.
20. *snickers* I'm just going to bring Ken along to spite Charles. No, really, I would bring Ken on the island. Ken is very smart, and I think if he used his brain to work for the good of the group (yes, I'm fairly sure he's capable of doing that. ^_~), he could get a lot done. I would consider his size as additional ammunition to his intelligence, as well, because he could gather fruit (I recall in Lord of the Flies that the small children couldn't reach tall fruit, ne?), and he is also strong enough for manual labor, building boats and such. Although he can appear self-centered at times, I don't think he's like that at all, and that he'd be a good (or even decent) leader to get people off the island. I would probably want to bring some of my friends, as well, because why would I want to spend my time with someone like.... *thinks of someone she doesn't like* ...uhm.... someone I don't like. (There's a couple people that I used to not like, but I don't see them around the OL anymore so I won't mention them). I'd bring The Vampire: Ed along, also because of his size and ability to do manual labor, as well as having a vampire on my island (sorry, couldn't resist. Vampires are just way too cool. >_>) I'd probably bring Queen Asuka along, because she has the nice balance of being very feminine and also speaking her mind. So she could be a very motherly, but also strong member of the island group. I'd bring Dragon Warrior on the island not for his writing skills (although entertainment would be nice, too) but if he's anything like the way he works on his stories, I know he'd be willing to work hard and put in 100% effort to get us off the stupid island. Besides, he's on the track team, which means he can run fast, which means he can run after meat? (or if he's a thrower, he can also throw spears at the fish. heh.) I'll probably come up with other people to put on this list because my brain is almost, almost, fried like an egg here.
21. Dare I jump in the melee of vicious sharks known as Syk3, Zeta, James, Siren, and Morpheus? Sure. Why not. Personal opinions: If MJ was to become legal, I believe the government should then have to run a shitload of PSAs (Public Service Announcements) to tell about the short and long term effects (from medical studies) of using the drug. I think if they did it that way, people would have the knowledge to choose whether or not to use MJ. A lot of the people I know usually have a one-sided perspective of the issue, and I think the facts would be nice. I also agree with the person (I think it was Manic) who said basically said that "you can do it on your own home, but I don't want to see someone high when I go to the store, just as I don't want to see someone drunk when I go to the store." (In different words, obviously, but the same message.) I know some of you are saying that it's not harmful because it "only" causes mental problems in those where the genetic predisposition is already present. But isn't that still harmful to you? I think that's something important to note, even if it is a minor footnote. Wouldn't you want to know that if you have a family history of lung problems, cigarettes (MJ will do it too) will make it worse? If you've got liver problems to begin with, wouldn't you want to know that excessive drinking will make it worse? To completely disregard that fact is called "tilting the facts in favor of your position." I know you're going to say "BUT BRINGING IT UP IS IN FAVOR OF YOUR BUTTHEAD POINT OF 'I HATE MJ!!!' " but the truth is it's not (and no, I don't hate it - MJ for medical use is perfectly acceptable, as well as using it recreationally, as long as you know how use it and its long term effects on your body). All it is, is FACT. EFF AY CEE TEE. Facts are good. Ignoring them is bad. =) Wow. I feel like I'm in the middle of a board office meeting discussing something incredibly solemn. Well, yeah, this is an important subject, but I think I'll end this mediocre post with the strangest/funniest thing someone has said about MJ in a while (from my school): "Dude, if the government legalized marijuana, they'd make a ton of money and single handedly save our economy. Imagine our embassador to the UN walking in high on MJ, and holding a meeting on it" But he also said that "...or we could just make crystal meth with our mad chemistry skills." ...So you should just take his comments as crazy and lighthearted. : )
22. Rhian - O_o; ? Cool. I'll probably have some sort of revision towards the end of the school year (annual update?) for all your cool cats that have changed their names/added family members. (I'm uncool, apparently, by my own standards. ...WTF?!?) anatema - yeah, happened for me too. That was rather strange. o.o Katana - I nominated Otaku Hollow!! Er.. yeah. It's a great story. Anyone who hasn't read it should either read it, or be shot. I'm really glad DW made the list, btw. Newbies were chosen? I'm glad. I have always said that a message board is nothing without its newbies. Nothing. I still have that old banner made by Final_Flash (I am teh lucky!) that says "Newbie and DARN proud of it!" because newbies are cool. Hurrah for the newbies! =) And of course, thank you very very much to CHW. My thread got chosen because of you, and I'm very thankful for that. I didn't even think of nominating my own thread, so thank you very much. And of course, congratulations to your nomination, too. I think you deserve it, no matter what anyone says. ^_^ *huggle* I'm starting my own awards at the end of the school year. I'm not sure if anyone will like them, so maybe they'll take off... or flop. (1) Until then, I hope to see you all at the next Otaku event. I'm sure whatever Shy cooks up for us will take delicious. Unless he puts random body parts in it. EWWW!! >< ¡Adios! *tips hat* (1) Yes, pluggage for something that doesn't exist - wow, I'm conceited =(
23. James - You're telling me. lol. My teacher needs to get a life. Thank you Drix, for also pointing out the part about the rocks from the moon. And, to everyone else who pitched in with their information (Morpheus, Shinje (sic), and Zeta). I'm so happy I got feedback on this thread. Now I can say something to my teacher the next time he brings it up. *huggles and hands everyone a cookie* ^_^
24. Alright. I'm really lazy, so I'm going to make everyone else do this for me. One of my teachers (he annoys me to death) is always saying how we never went to the moon - it was a plot to put us ahead of the Soviets. He constantly tells us all this evidence of "oh the flag was waving in the pictures" and "the crosshairs are in the back instead of in the front." I was just going to ask if anybody has evidence that we did go, so I can prove him wrong, but I think I'll facilitate this into a bigger discussion: Do you think we really did go to the moon or not? Let's hear the opinions and any facts you might have to support your opinion. ^_^ P.S.: He also says that the government only releases reports on things they investigate (Roswell, shooting of JFK, the moon landing) 99 years after they happen. Does anybody know what the hell he's talking about?
25. DarkOtakuBoy - wow. Wanna be on my AcaDec team? Super Quiz this year is on Astronomy. Just kidding. Sorry, AcaDec is on my brain all the time these days. I'm not trying to sound like a jerk, I just eat sleep and breathe it (when I don't have a cold). And yes, Steven Hawking is the coolest. There's a lot of things that I'd pay a million dollars to see. I'd probably pay to know some of the ultimate truths, such as which religion is the "right" one - or which ideals are the "right" ones, according to whatever God/ess/es exist out there. I'd say that I'd pay for someone to discover the GUT a lot faster, but it's going to happen one day. I think I'll just pray for someone to come up with it in my lifetime. (GUT = Grand Unified Theory. Unifying the 4 principle forces: electromagnetic, strong, weak, and gravity. Damn Newton I say! and a cookie for anybody who understands that)
