Art Cool Tutorial I made (very simple, nice effect)
Corey replied to Kinetic's topic in Creative Works
Surprisingly I could duplicate it. It was pretty cool. If you tweak the color balance you can get it to look like water, or oil. Good tut. -
I had known of another place where I could 'search' for a long time. I had stumbled across it unexpectantly on a trip sponsered by the Dark Order. My body gravitated toward it while I thought. It had been like I was drawn there. I had checked into the Best Western motel before I was perminantly stationed in New York. There I had fallen asleep. While I slept I did an unconsious search (The real name is "Phychic Incursion"). I had spread out my mind untill I touched something. What I had touched was the current Overlords mind. He was stunned, but did not know I did anything. I woke suddenly and without warning. My body flipped off of the side of the bed. I hit the ground hard, and fractured my left arm. I did some research on the hotel, and found that it had been built ontop of the place a Dark Order building had been. The building was burned almost two hundred years ago. Many had died. Their esscance, however, remained. The entire motel had become one big phychic sattelite dish. It rivaled even the Dark Orders searchroom. I checked into the only open room, with my company credit card, and went up. I took a quick shower, washing mostly my hair. I looked about the hotel for eavesdropping devices. One was on the back of the TV. I snapped it in half. The second was hidden inside of a lightbulb. I broke the bulb and dunked the device in water. It fizzled and stopped beeping. The third, and last, was hidden in the Bible, convienently on the page that delt with the Apocalypse. I threw it out the small crack that was the window. With that taken care of, I took a pill of LSD. My sences began to come alive. First it was my smell and taste. I could smell everything and taste the air. Then my eyes, I could see colors that I had not imagined were in the room. Then it was my hearing. The people in the next room were having a 'romp'. Next my sence of touch came alive. I could feel the slightest defect in everything. Lastly, it was my mind. I layed down on the bed, and let my eyes slip closed. I sent out my minds tendrils toward where I had last senced the thing. I could feel it again. It was powerful, but it had moved. It was no longer in Norway. I quickly scanned our complexes for survivors. I found afew and alerted the Contacts near Norway. It had moved. I felt a pang of anger at Tim. If he had let me conduct another at the Mansion, I would have been able to get to it. I shoved those thoughts away and concentrated on the thing. I saw it! It was in Bulgaria. How had it moved so fast? Bulgaria was across the contenant. I shook my head and tried to home-in closer. I looked at me with it's mind. I had been to slow! It saw me before I had a chance to dive into it's mind. With a great mental push I was hurled across the world. I flew through the sky. My mind landed on an island. There was a person here... A person that was in the Order. He was important... But how? Something had made me land here. And it wasn't the thing. I closed my mind and returned to the motel. I sat up and was faced with a throbing headache. I stumbled to my bag and swallowed a valium. They were for emergencies. I ploped back down on the bed and waited for sleep to come.

Thois guy I know cannot, for the life of him, pronounce asterisk correctly. When he says it it sounds like 'axerick'. I really have trounble pronounceing synonym. It comes out like symonim...

"Hi! How are you? I'm good. You too?" This is the mask, I put on my face. I keep it there, To disguise my hate. My feelings of malice, Of spite and dispair. Are nothing compared, To what I don't share. What I keep inside, You don't want to know. It's worse than the scariest, Horror show. I keep untold fantasies, Bottled inside. What they are about, Is what I hide. They are not about passion, Love or glee. They are about killing, Everyone I see. Just take the knife, Slit his throat. Watch him fall, He has no hope. Wash it off, In the sink. Am I phyco? Ha, so I think.

Here it is. Make quality posts please. ------------------------------- I had been close. I sat down on the floor again and massaged my temples. The pain was enormus for a split second. I took a drag on my cigarette and exhaled slowly, trying to dull the pain in my head. Being a Contact wasn?t as glamorus as it used to be. Before the killings had started again all we were supposed to do is find possible threats and inform people of them. Now we teetered on the brink of having brain embolisms everytime we ?searched?. I snuffed out the cigarette on the floor and walked to the door of the small room. I knocked on the door and it was opened. ???- ?Any luck Mr. Schezar?? I looked at him with bleary eyes and smiled. Ryan- ?The only succes I had was in giving myself on hell of a headache.? He chuckled a little and handed me four aspirin. I dry swalowed them and gave him a pat on the shoulder. ?Thanks Tyrone.? Tyrone- ?No problem Sir.? I walked drunkely down the hall and pressed the elevator button. It opened and I stepped in, pressing the button with the Omega symbl on it. The elevator dropped down, deep below the ground. Leanin against the back wall I reflected on my session. I had almost died this time. I had been so close to finding ?The Threat?. One more minute and I would have had the identity. The doors opened again and I was looking into a room with red velvet carpeting. I saw the Overlord sitting at his desk, a old wooden thing. Overlord Tim- ?Come in Ryan. Did you have any luck?? Ryan- ?Not much Sir. I discovered that as of now it is in Norway, attacking our people there, but that?s it.? I looked at the floor. ?I almost had it Sir. I almost had it?s identity.? Tim ?Ryan, you look tired. I don?t want you conducting any more ?searches? this week. I want you to go out and hit the town.? I looked at him with pleading eyes. ?Ryan, don?t make me order you.? Ryan- ?Fine...? I turned away and then turned back to him. ?I can get it! Let me do one more session! I swear to you I can do it!? Tim shook his head. Tim- ?Ryan, your my best Contact. More than that, your my friend. I don?t want to have you dead. Now go and have a good time.? I opened my mouth to protest. ?That?s an order.? I furrowed my brow and sighed. Ryan- ?Fine. Four days. I will come back in four days and contiue my ?searches?.? Tim shook his head again. Tim ?One week. That?s also an order. I know you want to do this but you have to give yourself time to recouperate. You are the only Contact I know that goes out regularly. Now go. And enjoy yourself.? I scoweled and left his office. My headache was beaten away by my rage. One week without practice. I wouldn?t be able to get close for another two weeks after I came back. As the elvator went up to the ground level, I probed my possibilities. I couldn?t do a ?search? without the power in that room. So what did that leave me with? I frowned. I guess I HAD to enjoy myself. I walked down the street, thinking about recent (and not so recent) events. My family had been involved in the Dark Order for a very long time, living in New York. I had grown up friends with many people inside. The current Overlord had been my childhood friend. When I was twenty, my parent had been killed by a group of extremests that didn?t want to accept help from ?devil worshippers?. They bombed an aparment complex where they were living. I hunted them down and killed them. Since then I had been developing my mental abilities. I moved up in the order quickly and attained Contact status only four year ago. I shook my head. It still hurt to think of my parents. I turned my mind toward the new threat. What could it be.. I didn?t know. It was old. Everyone in the Order knew about it. It had spread like wildfire. I had been so close today...
Originally posted by The Harlequin Anyway, to clarify a curiousity, I am forced by circumstances, albeitly influenced by impatience, to inquire whether as to you would prefer our bio, which, as I believe was earlier mentioned, would be contained in our first post, to reflect either A) our life, B), our joining/affiliation with the Order, C) a character mind-map, D) reason for being at aforementioned location, which I adimt could tie in with any of the previous three, but should be contained as a subcatagory for reasons I will not dwell on,
The answer is A, B, C, and D. I know the first post for many will be rather long... I would also like everyone to keep their 'life' portion as short as possible. Your old life is left behind when you joined the Dark Order. I'm starting this now. I will alow people to sign up untill Thursday.

In the immortal words of Homer Simpson "WHOOWHOO! DEFENCE! WHOOWHOO! DEFENCE!" I can't wait for football. The Packers will go all the way this year. They have been looking good in the few things they have shown on TV. We are going to stomp the Cowboys. They just suck. I mean who would wear a star on their helmets? It's like saying 'I'm a midway booth! Shoot out the star if you can!' ;)

Rob Zombie doing Red XII. That would definitly be good. Red XIII, get it right. - Break

How saddened I am that you do not remember the names of the wonderful and mysterious birds called Chocobos, Kizu. Anyway I would say that you have a good 5-10 hours untill you get the airship if you level up and do all of the mini quests you can do at that time. You can start breeding the chocobo's when you get the airship. Anything else?

True... But do you?

Since many of you know, I only write when I'm angry or dipressed. Expect to see a lot more poems from me in this thread... Let It Out I see the people, On the street. They're all afraid, They all are weak. Their minds are closed, Their bodies scarred. They are all hurt, From the thoughts they have barred. None want to believe, The truth of the world. Their perception is narrow, Their conciousness curled. Their views are small, They have no freewill. They are no more than cattle, Grazing on a hill. What poor saps, Are dubbed by these words? They are the people that have, No wish to be heard.

That's unconsious precognition Hyper. I have it all the time. You dream something, you don't remeber you dream it, and then when you go to the place you dreamed of, you get DeJaVu. I'm not sure of the real name but that's what I call it. Whenevr I hear this one song by Savage Garden (shudders), I remember this one boss fight in a video game I used to own. The music sounded exactly like the song.

What happens if everyone chooses that their character dies?

Ryan- "Yeah... I think we should stay a night. Tyron and Mara are both incapasitated. We should wait for them to recouperate." Everyone noded. "I'll stay up for the first watch, for a while at least..." Everyone started making a crude campsite. Reele pitched a small tent and edged Mara and Tyron beneath it. Miko went and gathered dry firewood. Kain and Aerow went to look for some kind of food. I, clumsily, climbed a tree and started my lookout duties. An hour or so passed and almost all of the party was asleep. Kain stirred uneasily and never drifted below a dozing state. Two more hours passed and I started feeling drowsy. I slipped into sleep for a moment and missed a figure dart across the field. Another hour passed and I could no longer keep sleep away. I started climbing down the tree. Halfway down I froze. Something was advancing toward the camp, from the woods. I slowly turned my head toward the sound. The branch my foot was placed on suddenly snapped. The thing uttered a low pitched growel and darted away. I scampered down the tree to find Kain standing up, weapon in hand. Kain- "What was that?" He asked in a low voice. Ryan- "I think it was the Hydra thing Aerow was talking about." Kain- "We shall both keep watch then..."

I kept my eyes locked onto Guato for the entire time he was leading us out. The forest was dark still. no more than two hours could have passed, even though it seemed like an eternity. The forest ended abruptly and Guato stopped. Guato- "I cannot pass beyond the boundaries of the forest. It is my home. Goodbye brave warriors." He dissapeared with a low pop and we all looked out of the forest. The sun was just coming up. I squinted into the rising sun and looked around the group. Ryan- "I guess we can contiue the journey then." We all walked out of the forest, a little more cheerful.

I still think Laurence Fishburne (Morpheus) should do the voice of Red XIII.

Dolgrad- "Bring in the host!" A human was dragged into the large room. He was severly beaten and knocked out. "You are sure he will not remember this place." Ignos 1- "Yes Dolgrad. He will have no memery whatsoever of being in our compound." I knoded and motioned for them to bring him forward. Dolgrad- "He will make a good host. From the looks of him he's a soldier. They will let him into the city easily." I grabbed the bio-mechanical creature from the vat of liquid it sat in. It was about half a foot long and and inch around. An evil smile crossed my face. "I do hope this doesn't hurt." I set the thing on his shoulder. It extended long tendrils and found the mans ear. It released a digital beep and crawled toward him with visious patience. When it reached the ear it squirmed inside. I heard an audible pop as the mans eardrum burst. His eyes vibrated in his skull and blood dripped from his nose. He relaxed again and went limp. The weapon was in place. "Take him out of the compound. Place him on the outskirts of the human city." The gaurds carried the man away. One of my advisors walked up to me. Advisor Jorkan- "Dolgrad, are you sure that the humans will not be able to detect the bomb?" I smiled that evil smile again. Dolgrad- "I'm very sure Jorkan. It's completely fullproof. The host will enter the city and we will become one step closer to overtaking this world..." The smile faded and was replaced by a look of deep thought. Jorkan- "Are you thinking about the Neo-Earth plan again? I've told you that we will not be able to do it for another two years. We simply do not have the resources. Too many are being diverted to exterminating the humans." I knew that. Still, this world was begining to bore me. We, the Ignos, are capapble of surviving in any climate, any atmosphere. When we encounter a problem planet, we simply change our genetic makeup to be able to survive there. It has been the same for as long as our history records show. Jorkan left. I siped on a human drink that I had discovered. It was quite good. I poured some more of the brown liquid from the bottle. I set it down. Dolgrad- "What in the name of Vale is Soy Sauce anyway?"

Thankyou so much!:excited:

That's a lot better. Thanks. I would rather not have anyone else be anything but human. I failed to say that in the sign-up sheet so please no on be anything but human from now on. You'll have to work yourself into the story with your bio Ugamon.
