1. *hugs Asphy* I always thought the story of Selkies was hauntingly beautiful. Kelpies also intrigue me. Come to think of it, so do sirens and mermaids... I guess I have a penchant for water spirits. /
2. There was a fairly recent thread about Web Design in the art forum, and seeing as how the web design forum was a subforum of that area, I guess I'd put such a thing there.
3. *blinks* Well, the second link there took me to a closed thread in the Digimon section, but yeah. We don't need another thread on this right now.
4. I don't see how water could give you energy, seeing as it's just...water. It's important, but it's not going to give you a caffeine boost. / Fruit has sugars in it, obviously. That would be my take on the subject.
5. I don't foresee this thread having any merit. Please put more effort into the threads you create.
6. I don't believe that the spirits of dead people remain among us any more than I believe that the tooth fairy left coins under my pillow when I was a child. Santa Claus, though... Santa's a different story. ^_~
7.
Originally posted by Justin Yes, there is. However, it's closed, because it was quite ancient. Though, I imagine if Sara had known this topic would arise now, she probably wouldn't have closed that one.
I just can't win, can I? I enjoy words. I read dictionaries in my spare time. I take word roots aand make up new words with interesting definitions. I read baby name books, and read about the etymology of names. I also write letters, memorize poetry when the urge arises, and compose rants of varying length and subject. I'm in the Drama club at school, and much of my free time is spent hanging out with the friends I've made through drama. I also draw. Tis fun.
8. I think it's fairly easy for the starter of the thread to announce that sign ups are over. You shouldn't have too many problems with people asking to get in after that, should you? I don't visit the RPG area often, but...that just seems like common sense. Unless that's the problem. /
9. In answer to Shinji's question, Tical has been banned.
10. That looks great. You should color more of your pictures, heh. I like looking at them. The only thing that bugs me is you can't really make out the design on his forehead, because it's glowing so much.
11. I agree with whoever recommended His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman. The three titles are The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife, and The Amber Spyglass. I've also enjoyed several books by Orson Scott Card. If you're interested, the first one you should read is Ender's Game. There are several related books, but you're under no obligation to read them unless you enjoy the first. It's a self-contained novel, and you can thoroughly enjoy it without committing yourself to several thousand pages of sequels. Ender's Game is set in a future when it is forbidden to have more than two children. Ender's parents, however, having produced two other brilliant children, are asked to have a third child. Hopefully, the third child would be fit to send to Battle School, a sort of space station where children are trained (by means of playing games) in battle tactics and strategies. Ender is the perfect candidate for the school, and is sent there at a young age. He is, in turn, a member of several "armies," and becomes a "general" early on. That only covers, really, the beginning. I really enjoyed this book. I found the school battles, and Ender's ideas very interesting. I stayed up late to finish it (admittedly not a rare occurance) and I was thoroughly satisfied at the end. It's sort of a cross between a school story and a war story. There were some great characters, and I really liked reading about them. I was pleased with the sequels/companion books that I've read, as well. I don't really know what else to say without spoiling things, heh.
Originally posted by yalborap You need to scare it out of her. Show her non poisonous spiders. You have to convince her that they aren't bad. That or dangle a fake one over her face when she wakes up.
That would be very cruel.
13. Simply take your discussion there. Problem easily solved. -Sara
14. I'm not going to ask who PM'd you. But please do not bring back old threads.
15. Here are two brief smiles: A few weeks ago, eating out with some of my friends, we discovered that one of the ten dollar bills we were paying with had writing on it. Upon closer inspection, it read: If you need some extra money, copy this inscription onto ten other ten dollar bills, and you will get it. It was a chain letter on a ten dollar bill. The amusing part was, as I pointed out: "If I had ten other bills to do this with, I wouldn't need the extra money!" ---------- Yesterday I was playing Tribond with one of my friends. For those of you who don't know, Tribond is a a sort of trivia game. Each clue includes three things, and you must guess what the three things have in common. Example: Charles, Adam, James. (They're all OB admins.) Example: Ontario, Michigan, Superior. (They're all Great Lakes) I read the clue to her. "Football...Hugs and Kisses..." My friend burst in: "They're all full-contact!" The last clue was tic tac toe, and the answer, of course, was
they're all associated with X's and O's.
It loses a great deal in the translation to text, but I assure you it was quite funny.

The Classics

Adagio for Strings is an awesome piece of music. I'm also a sucker for Pachelbel's Canon in D. :toothy:
17.
Originally posted by Tical Funny. I thougt youd be getting on my case about how this was on page 7.
Frankly, I think we've all just about given up on doing that, since it OBVIOUSLY DOESN'T WORK. But since you made a point of being cocky about it: Do. Not. Bring. Back. Old. Threads. Thaaaaaank you.
18. Words are my hobby. I read them, write them, use them, and memorize them. Etymology is fun. Strange words are fun, as well. My mom recently purchased me a book of obscure/interesting words, and I am enjoying it very much. Someday I intend to make a sort of dictionary with all my favorite words in it. I would enjoy doing that.
19. Tical, and I mean this with all due respect, but: What. The. Heck. Do not bring back old threads. And for the love of chocolate, if you do, at least bring them back with a coherent post! Topic closed.
20.
Originally posted by amibasuki I also used to make play money out of the coupons I collected at the grocery store. every time I walked by the red mechanisms with the flashing red lights in an aisle, I was compelled to pull coupons from every one of them. drove my mother insane. especially since she never bought any of the items on the coupons anyway.
Haha, I remember those! I would take a coupon from every one, too. And this was the challenging part--after you took it out, there were just a couple seconds where, if you stuck it back in the slot, the thingie would accept the coupon and suck it back in. Took a great deal of dexterity for a little kid, heh.
21. Haha, that looks great. I love it. You did that whole blocky style very well, and...yeah. It's just cool, heh. *quietly saves*
22. Here are a few of my latest favorites. (I make habit of collecting these in a rather large Word file, heh.) "If I were Yasunori Mitsuda or Nobuo Uematsu, I would keep a sampler with me at all times and play music when I see fit. Say if the toaster wasn't working, I would start playing boss music. And when I fixed it, and I devoured the tasty bagel that I so desired, I would play victory music." Feudalism--It's your count that votes! I think we're in for a bad spell of wether. Photons have mass? I didn't know they were Catholic... I became a Sun Worshiper overnight. Well, not overnight, because the sun isn't up at night,...but first thing the next morning! When you?re swimming in a creek?and an eel bites your cheek?that?s a moray! ....okay, that's enough for now. I'm having too much fun.
23. Heh, I love MegaTokyo. Tohya Miho is great. I want that shirt, heheh. It did get a couple of my IRL friends hooked on 1337, though. It's funny. I really like Erika for some reason. And Boo...ah...Boo. "Boo, should I firebomb that store? Okay!" What a conscience. /
24. Lumi is correct. There's another thread on this topic going right now.
