What level of English? Picture books are always cool. /

I would bug you about adding Totoro or Spirited Away, but I don't actually have any finished pictures yet, so...heh.
-
My sister and I would always play hide and seek in the clothing racks at Wal*Mart and Kohl's and stuff. Heheh, it was a lot of fun.

I love that movie. Did you go to Chanth? I would use a different font...that looks pixelly. Find something smooth and sorta flowy. Maybe make it light blue, to go with the unicorn. And add some kind of a border, it will look more finished that way.

Mainly to All You Wiccans-How do I "Come Out"?
Sara replied to Patronus's topic in General Discussion
I think the point is, don't "come out" if you're not 300% sure that your beliefs won't change, because it will cause a lot of undue troubles. -
Six seems like either too many or too few.... / Haha, I love the :ball: bulletpoints. :ball: Shy. Because. :ball: wrist cutter. I think we'd either get along great, or try to kill each other. I'm not sure which. :ball: Deborah. Because she's always been cool. (Well, I mean "always" in the sense of, "for a long time, but not actually since I first saw her." Because she pretty much freaked me out when she first registered. / Oh, well, heh.) :ball: AJeh. Hm, I put him on my hit list a long time ago....I don't remember why, exactly, but I did. We had some fun chats in the v2 days. And there was a funny rant of his about a bad day, or something....all I remember is "and my name is out of date!" Heheh. :ball: Jenna. I don't think we ever would have spoken if we'd first met IRL, but since we didn't, heh. I love her sense of humor. *flips a coin* :ball: James. He's funny, and I have tremendous respect for his patience. / I don't know what we'd talk about, though, hm. He probably take me to the library and make me check out Telling Lies for God, heh.

I hate you. / I still love the hair. I mean...I really love the hair. The slight rainbow effect on the wings was a nice touch, too. The picture as a whle seems like there's too much white. I think the white violin bothers me. I like the red/brown color scheme, though.

I knew different things when I was little. When I was in first grade, I could tell you how many teeth a certain shark might have in its lifetime, explain the differences between a brontosaur and a brachiosaur (and many, many others), tell you more about different kinds of butterflies than you would ever want to know, give a brief report on the government of Thailand, and name every color, by sight, in the big Crayola box of some ninety crayons. I never felt smart, though. I knew what I liked, and I knew a lot about it...but I had no self-confidence in any school class (except art. There are no words to express how much I loved art class.) I remember nearly crying in second grade math because of how incompetent I felt. It's not that I was bad at math, exactly...it's just that everyone else was so much better than me. (Particularly this girl Erin, who sort of became my idol.) I started third grade at a new school (to be with my sister), and suddenly, everything was different. I was the "smartest" kid in the class, and I really didn't get why. I didn't really realize it until a few years ago, but I was at the first school as part of a gifted program. / So at my new school, I was really smart. At my old school...I was just like most of the other kids. The biggest thing I didn't understand, for severall years, was the difference between adjectives and adverbs. / You could look at my English papers, and see page after page of 98s and 95s, and then you would come across the lesson or two each quarter devoted to the difference between adjectives and adverbs, and the page would be full of pen marks. It somehow clicked in seventh grade, though. So I went through five years of being hailed as the smartest person in the class, and I hated it. (The other smart kids didn't take too kindly to it, either.) I was "valedictorian" of my eighth grade class (not that it was really big.../) and that was it. 9th grade year, I started at a new school...with a lot of the same people...but no one marked me as smart anymore. When people wanted help, they went to someone else. When someone wrecked the grade curve, it was blamed on another kid, not me. There was a brief period of a few days, after I got my ACT results, when everyone "remembered" how smart I was. But it faded away quickly. Senior year starts next month, and I'm still at the top of my class. But no one seems to realize it except me, and one of my friends--who's now second. None of my classmates cares. It's a good feeling, really.

Um, yeah. Logan, you really don't need to tell people how to rate others' pictures. What they think of it is up to them. / Did you add the ring, or find the image that way? If you added it, I'd suggest making a different version without it. Maybe with just a light brown border, or something. Or, keep the oval shape, but make the ring only one pixel wide. That would help with the "stretched" look. If you're going to use it for OB, make the black part white. It'll make it look much nicer on the white bg we have here. If you're using it for another board... *shrugs*

That's amazing. Not to knock your computer skills, but my respect for your art just doubled after seeing you can work with "normal" media just as well. I adore her hair.

Everyone here has basica;;y said what needs to be said. Then why did you bring this topic back? /

I love her hair. And her eyes. And the checked pattern thing she's got going. Some things seems a little weird...I don't know if bones are supposed to bend that way, heh....but yeah. I love the hair. And the eyes. And...you get it.

My name is Sara. My AIM handle Stendahl 405 has a very interesting story, but I refuse to tell it. / If you wish to know, you must read "Usher II," part of Ray Bradbury's Martian Chronicles. It's pretty self-explanatory from there, heheh. Logan, please keep your personal conflicts off the boards.

What's the difference between a "black out" and a "brown out"?

*glances at Shy* You sound bitter. / "Flights at six airports - Kennedy, LaGuardia, Newark, Cleveland, Toronto and Ottawa - were grounded, according to the U.S. Transportation Department. " That's quite the chunk of of land to be out of power at once, eh. That was the first thing my dad said: "I wonder what's going on with the airports." Silly. I guess working with planes for twenty years has that effect on people, though. "Along several blocks near midtown Manhattan, deli owners brought their suddenly unrefrigerated food out on tables, iced in buckets. ``Half price on everything,'' read one sign." I bet that was negotiable. ^_~

Right, right. I've got that. It's just that you said So if you send in five Spirited Away pics in a row, we'll probably add that as a category. And...I don't know, I just got confused or something.
-
I've always loved drawing. / Since forever. When I was little, my mom would give me crayons and paper, and I would be content for hours.
-
I'm a little confused. You can't send in pictures without designating a category, can you? So how would you send in pictures in order to say that a category should be made? Or did I just completely miss something?
-
That's fantastic. I love the--what did you call them?--pyreflies. Seriously, that's great, Gin.

*stares* And thank you for contributing to the discussion.
