2. If people want others to know their age, they can post it in their profile. Although it has potential as a demographic poll, I don't think there's going to be any valid discussion rising from this thread.
3. My vote goes to wrist cutter. If you missed his post in the other thread, you don't get the effect, but it was darn funny.
4. The portapotty attacked you. ....no comment.
5. We have issues with Demon Biting Ladybugs from Hell in the late summer/early fall. They're all over the place. And...they bite. Apparently they're really Asian ladybugs or something. They're more "bittersweet" (for those of you who remember your Crayola colors) than red. They only showed up a couple years ago. I think....well, we still had lots of ladybugs all over the place then, but they only started biting us a couple years ago. It sucks. You might be walking along, minding your own business, and suddenly notice that a bug has bitten you on the arm--annoying, if not painful. You look at your arm, and the only creature there is a ladybug. Aww. So cute. You turn your arm some more to try and find the biting culprit, and suddenly you notice that the ladybug (which certainly doesn't looks cute anymore) has sunk its mandibles into your flesh. It took a while for people to actually register that these things bite. Everyone's been fond of ladybugs for so long, they didn't really believe the stupid things had gone psycho on us. Me: Yeah, that was a lot of--hey! Watch out, those things bite. Some idiot: What? Nah, it's just a ladybug. Me: Yah? Well, it's a psycho ladybug. Get it off your arm, it'll bite you. Idiot: Oh, come on. Ladybugs don't bite. Me: *acidly* That one does. Idiot: Puh-lease. You've never been---YAAGH! The sucker bit me! w00t. So, yeah. I've reached my daily quota for insect posts... Have fun.
6. You could try making the background not as tall as it is now, and dividing it a bit more--closer together at the bottom. As though it's at an angle to the computer screen. Ergh. I know what I mean, but I don't know how to describe it. I don't know if that's what you meant, anway.
7. You're just lucky, I guess.
8. Those are great, Ginny. Brokehorn, especially, strikes me as being different from the cute style you're trying so desperately not to be associated with. Again, with Brokehorn...Good job, shading the backgrounds so the subject stands out more. But then, you know all that artistic stuff, and don't need to hear it from me. ^_~ What's the symbol on his..er...leg-thing...look like? And what's the term for that? >_< The "zebrahorn" I don't like as much. While the concept is cool (I've always liked non-classic unicorns. *smiles*) I guess I don't think that picture does it as much justice as the mountain goat and orcas do theirs. While it's a good picture, (nice job on the flowers, by the way) the background takes away from the subject, maybe just because of the leaf lines going every which way. Also, the shape of the face makes me think of a striped horse more than a zebra. Not that I really know much about the anatomy of either. Darken the nose, for one...and zebra manes stick up. While both points may have been intentional (I hardly know, heh) if you're going to make a zebra-unicorn, you may as well go all out. Also, the horn itself is almost painfully simple--there's a lot of fun stuff you could do with that. The picture as a whole makes me think of a suncatcher or some other piece of stained-glass stuff. The lineart, I guess, and the fact that it's...self-contained? Is that the word I'm looking for? So that's cool. As for Aquamoon...I'll admit I winced at the name. It seems like something I would have come up with when I was little, and just putting pretty words together to come up with pretty names. It's the "moon" that did it, I think. I really like the picture, though. I love the way you shaded the water, heh. And good job on the waterfall. As for the creature herself...great job. She looks...well, like an orca turned into a unicorn. Good shading, as usual...I would darken some aspects of the rocks/cave(?) a bit more, to give it a little more depth...round the rocks at the edge, and make the stalagmites darker. Can we see a larger image? I somehow have difficulties believing that this is it's largest form. (Then again, I am on a different computer, and *everything* looks smaller than it normally is.) Newmoon~ We get a close-up of the waterfall, heh. Yay! I like the crest around his (her?) not-a-horn. Are his ears different from Aquamoon's? Newer, and smaller, obviously, but they look less...aquatic. He looks...chunkier, or something, than I would expect for a baby. I thought there'd be more smooth lines, I guess. The legs are sort of throwing me off... I mentioned it before, but I've always (well, not always, always, but since fifth grade, always) liked unicorns that didn't really look like...well, unicorns. So I have a special fondness for these pictures (and a slight jealously that you posted such animals first, heh.) I'm acutely wishing I had my sketchbook with me on this "vacation," because ever since I saw this topic, I've been going nuts wanting to draw more and various unicorn-creatures. *zebra, zebra zebra--ooh! GIRAFFE!! heh* Great job, Gin. *grins* ...Dare I ask for color, or are you the only one allowed to do that in this forum? ^_~
9. ...A "Bridge Out" sign, perhaps?
10. Heh, Doug Adam's Hitchhiker "trilogy" has something of a cult following. I say, read 'em. ^_~ Personally, I loved 'em. heh. Funny as all get out.
11. The scariest movie I ever saw was a home video of myself made when I was six years old. We shall never speak of this again.
12. You don't have to think of it in terms of destiny if you don't want to. That sort of throws me off, too, honestly. I don't know that there is ever "one" person that fits your personality perfectly. The odds that you would ever meet such a person are phenomenally against you. ^_~ However, I do believe that there are people who complement each other perfectly, or "match," or whatever other term you care to use. I find myself thinking of it in terms of puzzle pieces...Some interlock perfectly. It doesn't mean they're identical, it just means...they fit, heh. They don't have to be in a romantic relationship...like Alexa mentioned, they don't even have to be of the same generation, heh. I was actually thinking about this the other day, freewriting and playing with some ideas and phrases. The first impossibility is that such a person exists. The second impossibility is that you would ever meet him or her. I'll stop there. Just musings, I guess. I'm beginning to ramble on a bit much.
13. Makes me think of Princess Leia, or Amidala, or...some other SW chick, heh. I love the hair...it looks like spun copper or something, heh. The drawing below the shoulders seems very mundane by comparison. Which doesn't make it a bad picture by any means, but you could have a slightly different effect by keeping the detail and whatnot up throughout the picture. As it is, it sort of reminds me of a charicature...with a lot of focus on the face.
14. No piercings, no tattoos. Not my thing, I guess. I'm too...non-decided....to ever actually go through with that, I guess. I don't know. Just never wanted to, heh.
15.
Originally posted by Semjaza Azazel I already have a wrist cutter shrine in my room, so I don't need OB for that.
You too, huh? I don't know; I suppose I'd draw and write more often. Ergh. I come here to be doing something, and get my mind off other things. It's nice to have a reason to act cheerful. Mm. I'd probably flood Shy's mailbox with more letters, and he would try to get some sort of...mail...restraining order...on me or something. *shrugs* I'd need to find something else to keep my mind occupied, I guess. And another place to show off all my clever signature ideas. Yeah. That would be a definite downside.
16. Heh. AzureWolf, I don't know if I've mentioned this to you before, but you are a very nifty person. As for me, huh. I would really like to work for Pixar or Dreamworks; it seems like one of the coolest jobs in the world. *grins* The other thing I'm really interested in would be words. I'd like to learn several languages; maybe major in linguistics or something in college. I have absolutely no idea what I would do with such a degree, but it would be so much fun getting there. *grins foolishly* I've always been fascinated with the Japanese, etc. languages in that they use characters. I think it would just be so great to learn a completely different language structure like that. I'm also interested in Swahili (go figure), Russian, and, well...just all sorts of stuff. I have a passion for words. Wow, I'm all giddy after typing that out. I am such a dork.
17. I try to PM people if I see them with a sig that takes up more than one screen. That usually takes care of the problem, but there are a lot of people, and I only have so much time. ^_~ It is a courtesy to other members to keep your signature a reasonable length... If there's someone in particular bothering you, you could kindly ask them to shorten it. Even before I started modding again, people generally obliged if I was polite. I hardly had the authority to do anything, but if I mentioned it's just a courtesy, they generally took care of it, anyway. *glances at James* I didn't know we needed permission to do that...?
18.
Originally posted by Black_Phoenix It gets worse. I have heard rumors of an "All reality show channel." Just how far will this go?
You sound as though you've got this personal crusade to take 'em all off the air. If you don't like it, ignore it. If there's a channel for it.....don't watch that channel. ...it's not that hard.

Jokes

Ergh. These threads tend to degenerate pretty quickly, and I'm just going to close this now. If anyone is taken with the unstoppable urge to make a Jokes thread in the future, bear in mind that we do have younger kids who frequent this place. Keep it clean. We don't want them corrupted before their time. That's all I ask.
20. Aw ... you drew two eyes for each of them, and everything! Does anyone else find that comment slightly disturbing? Who is the slouching on on the bottom right, anyway? They're fine drawings, as usual. I don't know them, obviously, but I guess I'd say you captuer their characters pretty well...or at least, give them character pretty well, heh.
21. Question answered; topic closed. -Sara
22. Logan, I really don't see any problem with Hiei's post. He was asking a question about what you posted--what seems to be your problem?
23. Very nice, Miss Roxie. That made me smile. ^_~
24. I don't kow when I go back to school...end of august-ish. Tryouts for drama, however, are on Monday. Heh. So I'll probably be at school every day for most of August as it is. Our school's being remodled right now, actually. I went there yesterday to modify my schedule (should I take genetics, psychology, or woodworking?) and our counselor gave me a "guided tour." The whole thing is a mess. Meep. They blocked in all the hallways windows--the whole thing reminds me of a prison. *laughs* It was actually pretty nice before, but I like sunlight. It's going to drive me nuts if we don't have any windows in the halls. >_
25. No, there's no post requirements you need to meet right now. Looks like you've got it figured out, then. In the future, feel free to PM myself or another moderator if you need help with this sort of thing. ....And a big smiley sticker to everyone who didn't post saying that this thread should've been made somewhere else or was going to be closed. :toothy: -Sara
