Ryden had let down Hoshi before, he had run and left her to the wolves. Hoshi had something to prove to Xaru and Ryden knew that he couldn't interfear, but that was no excuse. Ryden took his Sheathed sword of the wind off his back and drew it's hilt to his forehead. "I vowed to protect the rights of all humans by your light but..." his voice trailed off as he lay it in Xaru's hands. "Good. And, the dagger?" Ryden looked confused. "How'd you-"
"The dagger." inturrupted Xaru. Ryden reached back onto a long, thin lump sewn into the back of his shirt. he tore it away and revealed he dagger underneath. He placed it into Xaru's hands. "You have my word that I will not try anything, in exchange for Hoshi's safety."

"Good, fly that way"

Xaru extended his finger in the direction of the camp. Ryden lifted off the ground. Xaru, still standing there summoned a strong gust of wind and threw the sword and dagger up in the air. The wind caught them and blew them far away. He then jumped off the ground and flew behind Ryden. When they reached the camp, Ryden was instantly threw into the large cell where Hoshi and unconsious Zo were being kept.

Hoshi: "Ryden!" She jumped up and hugged him.

Ryden: "Sorry... I couldn't protect you."

Hoshi: "I don't care.... You're here now."

Ryden: "Do you have a plan for getting out of here?"

Hoshi: "No, you can't touch the bars. They'll poison you and the ground, walls, celling are filled with a gas. If we break them, we'll be poisoned."

Xaru walked in the door then Hoshi and Ryden stopped talking. Xaru's pike had been altered. On the blade was a encription of wings. It had been elementaly charged with wind making it more powerful and able to attack things from a distance. He sat down at a chair, next to the two winglies.

"Let's see... I have a couple more of "Threats" To capture before I can take over this area. Crap! I forgot about that Hiei guy that I knocked off the building. I'll be right back, don't move."

As Xaru flys back to the city Hoshi and Ryden exchange looks. Hiei still stumbles around looking for Zo to heal him. Xaru lands behind him.

"I'm not done with you."

He grabs Hiei's arm and flys back to the camp, using the wings of hope to make him faster. He arrives there, and like the other through him in the cell. Zo finally wakes up and sees Hiei.

Zo: "Are you injured? Let me help you!"

She crawls over to him and puts her hands near him the "Healling light" that apears when ever she heals someone. Hiei's wounds close. He sits down on the bench and looks at Xaru.

Hiei: "Why are you doing this"

"I have my own reasons."

He gets up and walks out of the room.

Let her out!
Xaru:?
Let zo out she has done nothing!
Xaru: so help'n dragoon's is nothing?

Xaru: you? He won't be bothered by a little girl.
No but by his daughter he will!
xaru: and you know her? She is locked up in the safety of the winglies!
No she ran away to help the winglies and is stand'n before you

"Number 1, I am a higher rank than the Cheif. Number 2, if I did let her out, don't you think she would go back to the dragoons? If she "Didn't want to hurt her own kind" Why would she heal the ones that were hurting her kind."

Marie: "Please just let her go."

Xaru suddenly turned and ran into the bars. He didn't hit them, he went through them. He grabbed Zo and walked back through the bars. He thn shoved he to Marie.

"Be happy that I am slightly compassionate." Xaru looks at the ground. "Now leave!"

Marie and Zo walk out the door. Xaru walks over to the bars.

"So.... what do we have here? 3 dragoons."

Ryden: "Tell me now! Why are you agaist the dragoons?"

"You want to hear my story, eh? This is how it goes. I was once on the side of dragoons. I was a boy(Around 16). I was fighting a battle when the dragoons retrated, leaving me behind. I was nearly killed. when I got back they told me to leave the army. That I was a discrace. I refused to leave but they had a warrior attack me and throw me out. I left wounded and found the winglie army. They notcied my capalbilitys and gave me the gift of wind. I vowed to destroy every dragoon I come across..." He glances at Hoshi. "Or almost every dragoon I come across."

Ryden: "So all of this is because of being kicked out of an army?"

"Ha. I think you, yourself have witnessed my power. It was thier mistake to lose a champion."

Xaru looks at the three in the cell.

"I might consider letting you all go... if all of you resign from the army."

Hoshi had been silent the entire time Xaru had told his story. She herself knew what it was like to fight alone, but betrayal... she did not know that pain. She clenched her fists in rage. She was feeling weaker and weaker by the minute.

"How will you know if we quit or not?" Hoshi glared at him.

"I'll send a personal escort to kill you if you choose not to resign. Count on it."

"Well I'm not quitting!" Ryden yelled.

"If you think that after this kind of insult I am going to run away with my tail between my legs, you are quite mistaken." Hiei glared at Xaru.

"What about you, woman?" Xaru smirked. Hoshi resented being referred to by her sex. She held her tongue, thinking. "Your friends have already consented to die, are you going to join them, or be smart?" The words bit into Hoshi's heart. She couldn't stand by and watch them be killed because of their bravery. The only reason they were there was because she wasn't strong enough.

"It seems as though you like to make deals." Hoshi finally said something. Xaru arched an eyebrow at her. "I will make you a deal."

Xaru laughed harshly, "Lay it on me."

Hoshi drew a breath, then exhaled, her vision blurring. "You will let both of them go."

"And...?"

Hoshi clenched her fists, "And I will join your army. I'm a far better fighter than they are." Hoshi had lied through her teeth. Memories flashed of all the times Ryden had cornered her with his sword. "I mean, I stayed and fought your army while Ryden ran away!"

Xaru thought this over. "If I say yes... there will be nothing standing in your way of running to join the other side again."

"There is one thing, Kudoku." Ryden and Hiei gritted their teeth. Kudoku was a poison, the Loneliness Poison. Whoever it was used on was bound to the user's will. Hoshi would essentially become what Xaru was. Xaru stood up and left the cage.

"I will think about it."

"You stupid woman!!!" Hoshi looked at Hiei and he could tell she was deeply resented. "Don't you think with all of these dragoons in this one cage we can get out!" Hiei said glaring at Hoshi, and she answered "But what about the gas?" And then Hiei answered "Well, I with MY special ability dark dragon wave we can break through the walls and push Zo out and once the gas is all out she can heal us." everyone looked at eachother to see what they were gonna do

"Maybe, I'll tell them not to let YOU out, Hiei." Hoshi glared at him. "Winglies aren't stupid you know. If we try anything dumb, we could end up dead, all of us. Use your head!"

"That's enough Hoshi!" Ryden snapped. He massaged his temples, trying to think straight. "We can't escape this cage, Hoshi is right about that. But we have to escape using some kind of force, Hiei. Even though your technique is no doubtedly very strong, we have no idea what kind of effects it could have. Plus, Zo isn't with us anymore."

"Look, just let me take the Kudoku Ryden!"

"And have you spend the rest of your life as a member of the Winglie army?! I don't think so!"

"It's better than having you and Hiei die!"

"Well you'll be as good as dead! He hasn't even accepted your proposal yet!"

"I know... I KNOW!!!" Hoshi hit the wall, recoiling at the pain in her knuckles. "I just... thought I could save you from this. That's why I told you to run. But then... Xaru..."

"Look, this isn't your fault, it's his. You don't have to fix it either."

"It's what I do," Hoshi laughed, "Fix things." She wiped her eyes quickly. "I will take the Kudoku, should the opportunity present itself. You two will get away from here, you hear me? Don't plan some daring rescue or we will all be killed." Hoshi paused and sighed, "If we should meet in battle after today..." Her eyes were filled with fire, "Don't hold back."

"Wait." A grin appeared on Ryden's face. "Gas, travels by air." Hoshi interveined. "Ryden! Don't you get it? They've Thought of it! Just let me take the kudoku." Ryden knocked her back. She looked up suprised. "No YOU dont get it! You are my pupil and I am responsable until you are trained!" Ryden folded his arms. "Anyway, there are two very vital things they forgot. I know for sure, cause it isn't here, and I still have my dragoon spirit." He pulled his off his neck and it showed brightly. Hiei reached into his pocket and pulled out his. Ryden grasped his brightly "Hiei, if that other thing doesn't work, we rush Xaru when he comes for Hoshi." Hiei spat "Is that all the stradegy we can come up with? Fine then." He nodded and they both transformed. When Xaru came to check on them, he was suprised to see two dragoons waiting for him.

Hoshi: What the hell is this?
Ryden: Hi, you come back so soon?
Hoshi: what do you plan to do? Break out and die with a big bang?
Ryden: No, thanks for the idea but we're just waiting for you to come and play.
Xaru flared his nostrils. "What makes you think I wont just kill you now? What exactly would keep me from just putting you to sleep and taking Hoshi anyways?" Ryden gave a challenging grin as he walked up to the bars. "Nothing, if thats how you want to win." Xaru grabbed Ryden's shoulders and pulled him into the poisonous bars. "You mind saying that again?!" Xaru let go and Ryden backed up and fell onto one knee. "Heh, Youre like a stupid little kid with a new toy. Are you weak?" Ryden stood up. "Do you need your toys to get by?" Xaru punched the bars "SHUT UP!" Ryden readied him self for an attack, his eyes glowing the emrald green of his armor. "Come on. Shut me up if you're so strong." Hiei stood up as well and readied himself. Hoshi stood up "You're throwing your life away! Shut up and he may still spare you!" Ryden smirked back at her, if I do die, I want you to remember that there are many things more important than death." Xaru was furious "YOU ABNOXIOUS PUNK!!"

"Thats right get angry Xaru, you're a fool! That attack that I did to your friend on the cliff, that was only 1/4th of my attack power!" As Hiei said that Xaru grew a smirk on his face and said "Sure, that attack wasnt even enough to scratch me." "Then let us out and fight us!" Ryden spat.

Hoshi backed against the wall. Xaru was furious and she didn't want his fury taken out on her. Plus, angry people scared her. She pulled her own Dragoon Spirit out of her pocket. It was glowing yellow. She had lost everything, and the ones she cared about most were willing to risk themselves. What did she have to lose? But... if this plan failed, they needed a backup. She concealed the stone and backed herself into the corner of the cell, sitting down in the corner. Her hair ruffled as Hiei and Ryden transformed.

No YOU dont get it! You are my pupil and I am responsable until you are trained! Ryden's words rang in Hoshi's ears. This was the first time that someone had actually cared about her. The entirety of her life, Hoshi had been alone with an abusive father and a dead mother. She needed to protect them, somehow.

"C'mon Hoshi! Transform!" Ryden yelled.

"You'll be killed if you don't!" Hiei yelled.

"N-no..." Hoshi hugged her knees and closed her eyes tight.

"What? The strongest of the three dragoons won't fight?" Xaru snorted and smirked. He noticed that Ryden was staring at Hoshi in surprise. Xaru took advantage of that and punched him through the bars.

"Ugn!" Ryden fell against the wall.

"Ryden!!" Hoshi yelled.

"It's going to take a heck of a lot more than that to keep me down!!" Ryden rushed at Xaru. Hiei followed.

"FREEZE!!" A winglie behind Xaru froze Ryden and Hiei in place, against the bars. The poison started to take effect, draining Ryden and Hiei.

"No!!" Hoshi yelled, standing up. "Let them go!! STOP IT!!"

"Make me." Xaru laughed. "It's not like you could actually DO anything!!"

"Ho... shi..." Ryden gasped. She panicked. She tried to pull them away from the bars, but she wasn't strong enough to break the winglie's spell. She fell back against the wall, heaving for breath and tearful.

Never held one in my life. Just going off what bugs me when I fight one.

Stupid woman!

I am responsible until you are trained!

Hoshi stood up again, tears streaming down her face.

"Come up with another bright idea?" Xaru laughed. Hoshi outstreatched her arms towards him. "Thunder won't work inside your cage."

Her face was stone, "Who said I was aiming inside the cage?" Her eyes flashed with yellow energy, her Dragoon Spirit glowing. "Now you'll feel the wrath that was promised to you last battle!! CURSE OF THOR!!!" Lightning crackled outside the prison. Both Xaru and the Winglie were the prime targets. Pillars of energy surrounded them and met, causing chaos and death in the camp. The winglie who cast the freeze spell was killed, so were some other winglies in the camp. Hiei and Ryden fell back inside the cage, regaining their strength. Xaru however, had managed to escape the full force of the attack.

"Damn," Hoshi said in a sorrowful voice, "I missed."

Not sure of exactly what was going on in this city Serena had herself in a predidimant that she was unable to get out of. Her best hope was to just go through undetected and hopefully as quickly as possible. Sticking close to buidings she saw many winglies and dragoons whom she couldn't distinguish and she still wondered about that gentlman she saw. The injured one.
As the fighting seemed to escalate and then die down she could only wonder where Ragnarok was.
As she continued to walk through the city she saw a group of winglies talking amounsgt themselves.

Winglie 1: You heard of the dragon they just caught.
#2: Yeah he's a strong one too and yet still so young.
#3 Are they gonna kill him and take his stone.
#2 Not sure yet the commanders have yet decided his fate...

As the winglies continued to talk Serena realized that they were speaking of Ragnarok. She knew that she had to get him as soon as possible and escape this city. But how she had no idea of where Ragnarok was held or how many were keeping watch over them.
Soon another winglie came to the group and interupted the conversation.
Commander: There seems to be trouble at the prison. We must go there quickly.
All: Yes sir.

Seeing this as her only chance to possibly finding her dragoon Serena ran off behind them. Not worrying about anything else she knew f she let her eyes off them that there was no sure way that she would ever find her friend again.

Keeping a small distance between the winglies and herself she came upon the main building where the winglies landed. Before trying to to inside she decided to look around first to make sure Ragnarok wasn't held outside. Before Serena could move towards the prison a strange wave of lighting fell to the earth missing her by only a few feet.
How strange, she thought to herself and quickly moved closer to the building.
Inside she heard many voices and yet no one was keeping watch at the door. As she slowly made her way inside she could hear a womans voice as she cursed herself. But didn't pay any attention to it. Going in the opposite direction Serena heard growls from behind a wall and knew immediately that she fond Ragnarok. As she opened the door she encounterd one winglie keeping watch over her dragon.

Winglie: What are you doing here? Who are you-
Serena lunged at the winglie and pushed her to the ground. Luckily this winglie wasn't ver strong and after a few punches she knocked the poor winglie out cold. Ignoring any other things Serena ran to her dragon who was only held down bya a few chains. She hugged him and petted him, letting him know that now everything was going to be alright.
As she reutrned to the winglie she removed the keys and went back to her dragon unlocking the chains around his feet and neck.
Serena:Free at last, but now how are we going to get you outta here!!!!

Xaru stands up, a little shocked. He looks at Hoshi, then to Hiei, finaly to Ryden. He dusts himself off.

"So, Hiei, 1/4 of your power?"

Xaru starts laughing.

"You should be lucky that I havn't trasformed to beat any of you."

Ryden: "What do you mean!?"

"I have another form. A stronger form. And what is all this talk of "breaking out"? I have decided to let all of you go...... if one of you beats me.... one on one."

Xaru turns around and looks at the alive winglie. The winglie nodds his head to him. Xaru turns around and smirks at the three.

"Who will be brave enough to fight?"

Hoshi looked at Ryden then at Hiei. Neither of them seemed to be moving. Xaru was still smirking at them and Hoshi's blood was beginning to boil.

"I'll fight you!" Hoshi yelled.

Ryden growled in frustration, "What are you crazy?! Or just deaf?! I told you that I'm responsible until you're trained!"

"I don't see you saying anything!"

"We have to be smart about this! In order for us to be let go, we have to WIN."

"A woman fledgling fighter such as yourself would stand no chance of defeating a full grown Dragoon general." Hiei glared at her.

"Then why don't you go?!"

"Ahhh," Xaru sighed, still smirking, "Dissention amoungst the ranks..."

Seeing that the entry door was also their only way of escape Serena had no choice but to go out that way. Walking to the door to make sure the path was open. Serena and Ragnarok quietly walked back through the corridors to the entrance of the building.
Coming back to the same intersection where she heard the woman she could agin hear voices talking about a fight.

Its the same woman...we must help her Ragnarok. I cannot stand to leave a person behind and besides who knows she may be able to help us in return.
The dragon's big yellow eyes stared at Serena as if he was reading every single though. Agreeing with Serena the dragon nodded his head and they continued down the corridor towards the prisoner's cell!!!!

Ryden walked forward "This, transformation. More toys? You sure are persistant." Xaru smiled and tossed his glaive aside. "No toys. One on one, no strings attatched. Do I hear a challenge?" Ryden nodded. "Hoshi's to damn green, and Hiei isn't talking, so it looks like your mine." Xaru laughed "You seem confident, what waits for you if you lose?" Ryden held up his fist "If you win, I'll have already been dead. The only question here is, should I knock you sensless or should I knock some sense into you?"

Hoshi's eyes widened. She opened her mouth to protest, but then knew that it wasn't going to help anything. Ryden was right, she wasn't a good fighter yet. But how was she supposed to gain experiance if her teacher was dead? No... that wouldn't happen. Ryden would win for them and they would be free. But how could Xaru be trusted? How could Ryden kill him? Would Ryden kill Xaru? She had to trust in him. She stepped forward.

"He'll be ready in ten minutes." Hoshi scowled, "Go off and boss somebody around, why don't you?"

"Obnoxious woman," Xaru growled, but he left just the same.

"I could have taken him on right now!" Ryden sighed, exasperated. "What, you trying to find a way to kill yourself before I fight him?"

"No," Hoshi said flatly. "But the way you're treating me, maybe I won't give you what I wanted to give you."

"And what would that be?" Hoshi raised her eyebrow. "Okay okay! Sorry." Ryden mumbled. Hoshi pulled up her sleeve. A thin silver chain was wrapped around her forearm. The pendant was a misty blue Dragoon Spirit. "But, you need that!"

"It's not mine, it was my mother's. She was a wind element like you. It's always protected me... until now I guess. I want you to take it." She placed it in Ryden's hand. He clasped it around his neck and pushed it down his armor. "If you die and Xaru takes it, I'll never forgive you, you hear me?!"

"Er... yes ma'am."

Hiei snorted, "A trinket won't protect him. He needs to fight, not rely on charms."

"Oh just shut up Hiei." Hoshi smirked and leaned against the wall. She turned to Ryden, "Give him a good punch, just from me."

Ryden chuckled "Hey, you don't have to worry about me, there are still too many things I need to do before I go under." He looked up at the celing "semper in angaria cordis pulsum tangite mecum omnes plangite." Hoshi looked confused "what does, that mean?" Ryden smiled and looked at her. "I'll tell after all this is over." Hoshi was about to ask him more, but at that moment Xaru stepped back in.
Xaru: Are you ready?
Ryden: Can you get any uglier?
Xaru: Arrogant to the end, I see. They are last words.
The bars grew faint and Ryden stepped through them. The bars then solified again behind him. They walked out (In the oppisite direction of Serena) and Hiei and Hoshi were left inside the cell.

Hoshi watched Ryden and Xaru disappear behind a corner.

"GAHH!!!" Hoshi tore at her hair, "How am I supposed to be worried if we can't see them?!!"

"Calm down woman. At that rate, you'll hyperventilate and die of poisoning. Ryden would be... displeased."

"Would you stop calling me 'woman'?! It's Hoshi! Hooooee-sheeee! Got it?"

"Now you just look like a plain fool."

"I know you are but what am I?"

"Child."

"Idiot."

"Imbecile!"

"COWARD!!!" Hoshi and Hiei faced off, gritting their teeth and glaring at each other right in the eye. Suddenly, they turned away and sat at opposite ends of the prison.

"You're not a coward Hiei... I'm just... petrified."

"That's obvious enough..." He thought for a second, "Woman."

"Same to you, Hiei." Hoshi sighed and smiled.

"I wanted to see also... But it doesnt mean you have to whine about it woman!!! I cant believe you missed Xaru when you used that attack!" Hiei screamed and suddenly looked away and Hoshi replied "Its not easy ya know, it took me awhile to master that technique." "Master it! You say you MASTERED that technique?! I havent mastered any of my abilities and I think mine are better than yours." Hiei answered "Oh Ya!!" "Ya!"

"For your information, I JUST LEARNED Curse of Thor!!"

"So?! That doesn't fix your mistake!"

Hoshi got angry. At first, she had just been fighting with Hiei for sport, but now, it was personal. Her voice was quiet and deadly, "You want to know about Curse of Thor? I'll tell you. This morning when the Winlies attacked the city, I picked up my mother's weapon, against the wishes of my neighbor, and fought off winglies. I was surrounded and thrown into the fifth floor of the tower and left for dead. I saw Ryden fighting for his life. I knew that he wouldn't last long. My spirit separated from my body and I saw my mother's spirit. She died when I was ten and left me with an abusive father. She taught me everything I know, including Curse of Thor today. The attack is based on pure emotion, apparantly. I can't use it unless something is desperately wrong. I want to kill Xaru with all my heart... but... I think I'm having doubts."

"I don't want your ridiculous stories or excuses."

"I didn't see you busting out your dragon-type thing."

"I can't use that inside this stupid cell!"

"So, in this situation, my techniques are better."

"WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?!! Your techniques are worthless if you can't hit anything!!"

Hoshi turned around and hugged her knees. "I don't want to fight you anymore Hiei, so just... if you're going to rag on me about how I didn't hit Xaru or about how stupid the only attack my mother gave me is, then... rag on me in your head, okay?"

As soon as Zo and Marie were out of the door they flew into the air, each of them glaring at the other daring them to throw the first move. Zo, made the first move and the only move, she flew forward rammed Marie onto the roof. Then she slapped Marie.

"You...you hit me!"Marie yelled in shock and disbelief. Zo had never hurt her sister in her entire life and was shocked as well.

"I know, I'm sorry," Zo said her voice barely audible.

"Why were you healing the Dragoons? Why did you betray your race?" Marie questioned after an akward silence.

"Because I have sworn over to their side. I swore that as long as I feel they are on the side of good then I will ever be with them. I do not feel that our people are fighting for the right or good cause this time, this time we are the ones who are wrong, and we have been to prideful to notice." Zo answered slowly.

"But surely you will join to our side again. After seeing the way those Dragoons treated Xaru!" Marie said.

"Sister! Is your heart truely that blind? Can it not see the right path? Can't you feel it leading you? Because if you do feel it and you do not follow and wish to stay on the side of bad....then I pity you.....but pity will not stop me from fighting you....and nither will our previous memories or life....for as of now...I do not have a sister." Tears threatened Zo's eyes as she turned away and took flight. Surveying over the wreckage of the explosion she finally found her axe, and headed back to the cell, where she had been imprisoned earlier. Right before she reached it she saw a bunch of winglie gaurds heading straight for the area, she could hear shouts in the background which were coming from the cell room. Suddenly a girl and a dragoon appeared and killed them, then they walked into the room. Zo had just taken flight again when more winglie gaurds appeared, not wanting Ryden, Hoshi, Hiei, or the girl and the Dragoon to get caught. Grabbing a pouch she pulled out some sand, she landed softly behind them and sprinkled it on the ground.

"Ast tasark sinuralan krynaw" then Zo moved her right arm in a wide arc in the direction of the winglies making sure all of them were inside the arc from her point of view. Almost at once, they all fell to the ground asleep, not one stirred. Smiling she continued on through the door to hear the girl say,

" Now I'll need all your might and power to help us break down these bars okay! You two stand back. We should have you out here real soon!!!!"

"Wait!" Zo yelled they all turned to look at her."You can't have a jail break without me!!!" she walked over to where the Hoshi and Hiei's weapons were. She picked them up then threw them into the cell.

"Just in case more gaurds come, though I doubt they will."

"And why is that?" The girl asked.

"Because I just put about thirty right outside this door asleep and they aren't waking up anytime soon." Zo smiled slightly.

"So anyways like..."

"Serena,"

"Right, like Serena said we'll get you out of there real soon!"

Xaru tuns around, hearing giant steps of a dragon.

"I knew I couldn't leave that cell alone." Xaru looks at Ryden. You want to fight me, so stay."

Xaru flys up in the air (they are outside) and crases through the room that the cell is in. He brakes through the wall and lands in the dust, looking at the people in the room. He jumped up in the air and landed on the dragon's back, then put his pike edge near it's neck.

Serena: "No!"

"If you are going to break someone out of a prison, do it silently. And why were you going to break them out? I was going to send a gaurd to let them out so they may watch our battle."

With that said, Xaru jumped off the dragon's back and cuts the bars. He throws his pike out the hole in the wall. The bars fall to the ground. He reaches in and grabs both of them, then flys out the hole. He steps away and grabs his pike.

"How about.... you go first?"

Ryden lifts off the ground ad speeds at Xaru.

Ryden cocked his arm back and flew in towards Xaru. As he came in, Xaru put the flat side of his pike up to guard himself. Ryden threw his punch and it hit the pike hard. The pike vibrated and sung like a canary, as if the very fabric of the metal was attacked.
Ryden then turned and hit Xaru's pike with a hard kick. He had planned to shatter the pike with enough of these attacks. Xaru lifted his pike away from Ryden and kicked him hard in the collar bone. Ryden was knocked back into the ground and richoshayed into the wall. He got up and charged again, arm cocked. Xaru shot forward at the last second with his pike outstretched. In a blink of an eye, Ryden dodged and kneed Xaru hard in the stomach. Ryden had no idea how he dodged it, or how he knew to counter with a knee. It didn't matter to him as he brought his fist down on Xaru's head. Xaru plumeted and landed an the ground. His arms outstreached as he called upon the muscle burst. he shot up and struck Ryden in the stomach with the sharp end of his pike. A followup kick to the face sent Ryden careening into the wall. Ryden weakly positioned himself in an offensive position on the wall, having been deeply wounded by the pike. He shot forward and struck Xaru with a hard right. A newfound rage on his face, he called on the speed of wind and started wildly thrashing at Xaru. he ended with a kick to the stomach and drove him into the ground. Xaru swung his pike and knocked Ryden off, leaving a deep gash in the side of his face. Ryden landed with a thud as Xaru sped over and stomped hard onto the deep wound in Ryden's stomach. Ryden screamed in pain as Xaru continued to put on pressure. Ryden held up his hand and summoned a gust that knocked Xaru into the celing. Hoshi and the others stood by and watched the brutality.
Hoshi finally spoke. "They're going to kill each other fighting like that!" "thats the idea." responded Hiei. "Ryden stopped holding back after the first blow. I wish to say the same of Xaru but-" Hiei looked hard at Xaru, who was now slashing at the roof sending derbis raining on Ryden. "But something just doesn't feel right."
Hoshi looked from Hiei to Xaru, and then to Ryden. "Ryden..."
