Though, considering the fact that this is a very rare occurence with CLAMP (unlike certain other manga-ka who shall not be named), I'm willing to forgive them.[/color']
See, yeah. I'm not really aggravated so much as I am perplexed because the style of this chapter is just not like CLAMP. I mean, I can understand the need to communicate the desires of the villain, which so far have been expertly hidden, but I'm not a big fan of the "stop everything, Lucy's got some 'splaining to do" club.

If you know what I mean.

I was surprised too since the series just hasn't really gone that path so I read that and was going... wut? The bit with Kurogane was fun though, but that was about it for that chapter. Hopefully that won't happen very often.

The stop everything for explaining is never impressive, even if it's stuff you need to know. I liked how the others' pasts were shown instead of explained. It flowed better and didn't make you want to bang your head on your desk.

Anyway, since that's not their usual style, so long as it doesn't continue I'm fine. It was just a disappointment since we had waited for two weeks and got that instead of their usual style of story telling.

I think that would have been better in a dual chapter release instead of on it's own.

Wow... I was under the impression that this thread had died ages ago. (I really should visit other forums more often)

I was also under the impression that I was completely caught up with the story... Apparently not, because I have no idea what you guys are talking about. After reading Allamorph's spoiler warning from way back when, (and ignoring it since I was positive I was caught up) I regret doing so... It's really hard to stay updated when the books come out several months apart... I'm going to have to go out and get number 19. Now I'm excited!!! (Even thought it's pretty much been ruined for me. Blah.
If you're going by books we're way beyond nineteen. Try twenty-six. Though I understand only up to nineteen is out in print here in the US. And since the next part isn't something I can post... I sent you a pm in regards to that. =P

Yikes, that first half was stagnant again. I thought I was reading Naruto for a bit. Luckily they made up for it with another Fei Wong Reed Kick the Dog Moment, which involved Fye becoming unexpectedly awesome in a way we're not used to him being awesome at.

Also, now that swords are drawn, hopefully all this exposition has finally ended and it basically just comes to blows in the next chapter. CLAMP is good at what they do, I don't like it when I can draw parallels between their works and Kishimoto's. Usually, it's next to impossible, but those last three chapters had me wondering.

I was thinking... don't do the stagnant bit and then Fai stepped in and that was, as you put it, awesome.

I'm not surprised that Fei Wong is too much of a coward to face them directly though. Oh and I did find it amusing that Kurogane was skipping announcing what his moves were. It was almost like he was saying to Fai, you should be able to recognize it without me saying what it is dummy. lol

Either that, or it's just that it's really go time now and he has no time for such typical shounen series shenanigans. And Tsubasa is by no means typical.

Anyway, I am also not surprised by Fei Wong not stepping out to party with the boys. He's probably pretty handy with a sword, but he also obviously displays the "Why should I do what fodder can accomplish?" attitude.

Though I am loving Fai's kickassery levels right now. I've always thought he was the subtle BAMF-type, but the outright BAMF style works for him, too. Especially wearing looks like those while he's doing it. Mm.

*ahem*

The action will probably be shifting to Syaoran vs. "Syaoran" here shortly, though, so, yay, Fuuka Shourai and whatnot. Though I'm sensing more exposition and Sakura/Cherry B. interference in the long run.

[/color']
And so it did. That whole chapter was pretty much the two of them fighting. They've already pulled the card of he's stronger from using the magic more than Fai did. I wasn't expecting that to happen so quickly.

Now, it will be interesting to see how and if he manages to beat him. o_O At least the monologuing was kept to a minimum this time.

Well that last chapter was interesting, I'm sure they didn't kill off Kurogane or Fai, but damn if it seemed to take next to nothing for all of them to get thrashed. I'm finding the card of him being so powerful with the stolen magic slightly irritating actually.

Though at the same time it's a hard realistic hit to Fai since his refusal to use his magic all that time is really coming back to haunt him. I'm sure he must be wondering how things would have gone if he hadn't done that.

And now the question is whether or not Syaoran survived that last attack and if so, why in the world is the other Syaoran dragging him to the portal where Fei Wong is watching?
Oh, now this is interesting. In the second to last page, if I'm correct, the Syaoran clone whispered in the unconscious (dead?) Syaoran's ear.

Now, I wonder what that could be about....
I'm wondering that as well, though I have my thoughts as to what's going on and I'm hoping I'm right. It will be more fun if I am.

Yup, totally right. Clever execution; I was wondering how he pulled it off.

Also, that was some major big-*** spell that clone-man threw there at the end. Lured Mastah Reed right out of his li'l protective bubble-shield to take it full force. I wanna see. =3

Oh man, when I realized you had posted here Allamorph... I immediately ran to read the update and... That was just totally kick butt awesome. The whole time I was going... please do what I think you're going to do... please, please, please... XD I was so going YES when they did. :3

And wow... he stabbed his own foot just to deceive Reed. Damn. I want the next chapter to read... and I want it right nao if you please. =P

Even more exciting than what happened in this chapter, I think, is the fact that for the first time, really, we can all say "called it" on something CLAMP did.

I mean, seriously. Think about it.

But anyway, this really is one exciting turn of events. We're finally seeing Fei Wang get his comeuppance and I'm waiting eagerly for every OMGWTF-filled moment of it. The only thing that really concerns me about this is what may possibly happen to Syaoran and Sakura. I mean, that's a serious blow he took from Fei Wang in the end and if he dies... Well, I mean, yes, it would be sad, but would it have any other implications we don't know about?

As far as Sakura goes...well, it's Sakura. Something just can't not happen to her. >.>;

Haha, that was sweet. Interesting chapter here. We learned a few new things that will probably come in handy soon.

1: Foolish Replica Syaoran is... on the side of good now? Nice heroic sacrifice there.

2: Fei Wong can indeed bleed. Considering the fact that this is where they need to put an end to all his magnificent bastardry, this is a very good sign.

I think he's been 'on the side of good' since Cherry B. dissolved against him. The wake-up-call expression on his face was pretty clear to me.

I have a feeling this is how CLAMP ended up dealing with the clone issue. They already erased the Sakura clone, and now Syaoran (the clone) is probably going to disappear as well.

I'm more interested in what the original kids' true names are, myself. I think when that's revealed, it'll be quite telling.

Can I just say how much I adore how so far, the fights in this series aren't dragged out to eternity? I really, really love how they approach things in this series. That bit with the trickery on the clone's part was just totally fantastic. :catgirl: I can't wait to see the next chapter to see how Fei Wong is affected by that massive spell the clone cast.
Right, guys, I know this is a bit arbitrary and picayune, but....

....it's Fei WONG. WONG. Not "wang". That's a bad thing to talk about, at least where I grew up.

>_>
It's okay, Al. Simmer. Settle. Breathe.

Honest mistake, seriously. And taking into account the general craziness that is the Pinyin translation system into Romanji, just be glad it hasn't gone farther than that. ^_~

Don't concern yourself too much about translation flubs, Alla. At least you're not reading One Piece. There's this whole section right near the middle where everyone scanlating suddenly decided to suck for a very long time. Some of my favorites:

- Birami the Dachshund (Originally Bellamy the Hyena)
- Constant swapping of Enel/Ener/Eneru
- NAKAMA. Holy crap I'm beginning to hate that word. Translate it, people.
- Edward Newcart (NewGATE)
And last but definitely not least:

-Pornoglyph (Poneglyph)

Seriously, I crack up hard whenever I'm discussing OP with someone who actually thinks it's "Pornoglyph."

Well, see, there's the thing. We haven't seen Fei Wong's name used in at least three chapters now, which is about two months, ish. So that means that the "wang" came from-a YOU guys. *grin*

I was merely expressing my righteous indignation. *snobbish pose*

I mean, heck, wasn't it two pages ago when I Colbert'd his name? I distinctly remembered there being a crapload of Os in that line. :p

AANyway. Moar Tsubasa now, plzkthx.

<_<

ANYWAY... I like how they carefully kept the clone's foot hidden so you didn't realize until the last moment that he had stabbed himself to fool everyone. o_O

Fei Wong's expression as that spell started messing with the portal was one of surprise so clearly he never expected the clone to turn on him.

And yes Sir Allamorph... MORE TSUBASA NAO! :catgirl:

That was pretty interesting. Fei Wong still has everything blowing up in his face, which just becomes more and more satisfying with every chapter. Clone Syaoran's heroic sacrifice was a nice way to kill him off without cheapening the character or haxxing Syaoran himself. Good job there. I did almost lose track of all those magic effects, though.

As of now, I'm really beginning to wonder how this death affects everyone else. I was half-thinking that Syaoran would inherit Fye's magical eye at the end there, but that's also the only means Fye has of getting off his addiction to Kurogane blood. there's also the possibility of it just dying with him, and....

Crap, CLAMP just likes to keep you guessing, don't they?
