Heh. That made me laugh too. Anyway, now that I'm on Spring Break I'll have more time to post... and on account of not having fight scenes to write up for Almagest. Those type of posts not only take forever, but they kind of fry your brain. Two points of reference to keep in mind, one, the [I]Transcendence[/I] is on board the [I]Liberator[/I]. I'm assuming that's a typo in your post GuyYouMetOnline since Kiva is in the [I]Catalyst[/I]. It's not a big deal, I mean I didn't even notice it until I re-read the posts this morning before putting mine up. But that detail is important for another event since the [I]Transcendence[/I] needs to be on the[I] Liberator[/I] for it to work. Next point, the code Daniel got from William was a type of emergency override code and not specifically for that security system in sector four. Kind of like the codes he had for bypassing the automated systems in sector fourteen. Not a big deal really, but I thought I'd clarify that just the same. I do want to clarify one point in regards to messenger ships being able to detect the explosives, since I didn't see a way for that to really work in the post... But the idea is that unlike most ships, messenger ships do not interface with regular systems at all unless the Elite Specialist chooses to do so. They operate separately or rather in a battle situation, it would consider it's own scans to be accurate and ignore the data from the protocols. Resolving the data conflict doesn't take long, probably no more than 10-30 seconds at most, but it was enough for the ships to hit their targets. It wasn't detected because it isn't standard procedure to scan ships. So when they did, unless they chose to ignore the protocols, it would still come back as nothing being wrong. The plants used to make the explosives are also used to make medicines and other materials, so the protocols were telling the fleet in sector nine that it was a harmless shipment of the base material before it's made into something else. And since that is very similar to the explosives, the system accepted the protocol data as being accurate as it is designed to do. Including all the rpg's they were a part of. So, as a result, I handled his next objective since it was crucial to the plot. Something that they were fully aware of and expected to happen. Whether or not Greydon Kreid will be written out of the story after that remains to be seen. In the mean time, have fun reading the post... it only took me [I]way[/I] too long to write.
