You're missing the point of his music though. It's shock rock. You never do things the same and take risks with your style and music. With this new album he's taken more of a hillbilly kind of guy and it's alot grayer themed. It fits his music perfectly though which is something which I don't see much anymore.

My favorite artist of all time, Rob Zombie, just released his new album on the 28th last month. It's so good. After having had alot of time to listen to it, I've gotta say it's his darkest and softest album. Rob Zombie put his music career on hold after Sinister Urge to work on House of 1000 Corpses and The Devils Rejects and now that, that is finished he's returned. My favorite song off of the new album is The Lords of Salem. The term Educated Horses is derived from some of Rob's experiences as a child when his parents worked in the circus and he and his brother had to tag along. So yeah. If I had to rate this album it would recieve a 10/10 but in my eyes it exceeds expectations and proves once again that R.Z. is a master.

What's the stupidest thing you've ever done?
Box Hoy replied to NekoSama101's topic in General Discussion
Okay, the stupidest thing I've ever done is during school a couple frineds of mine and I went down in this canyon near the school to this park and were just screwing off and wrestling. This canyon, mind you, is off limits during lunch. So this on friend, Robbie who is slightly on the mentally challenged side goes up the hill and comes running back down, seconds later, hollering "Oh ****, the principle." So my bud Colin and I take off with another kid James up another side of the hill and run to the street. We see another kid, Neil on the other side being escorted by our principle and there's a police vehicle following them. The car comes up to us and takes us back. They claim we ran from the police and stuff and gave us two Saturday school detentions. It was really retarted but funny. -
Wow. Haven't there been like millions of this same thread here. Ok. Well I'll list my top 10 bands. 1. Rob Zombie: He's the most original metal artist I've ever listened to. When a fan can say that outright and honestly you know that an artist must be good. The variety in his music and the themes of it just seem to catch you off guard. He masters everything he can and it may be partially due to the fact that on nearly every album his line up has been different. With the release of Educated Horses he's gone from comic horror to just plain horror as he circles around his childhood with songs like Foxy Foxy and Sawdust in the Blood which reflect his life in the cricus as a kid. 2. Wednesday 13: If it's not Rob Zombie it's gonna be second best. Wednesday 13, vocalist for Murderdolls and before that Frankenstien Drag Queens, released his first album under his name last summer. It's an improvement from the murderdolls by far but unfortanatly the fans didn't seem to follow. Probably because Joey Jordison didn't come with him. Lately this shocker has had a bit of trouble. Bassist Kid Kid dropped out and guitarist Piggy D. had previous arrangments with his project. That's not gonna stop Wednesday though. He's gonna be releasing an album sometime this summer. 3. Mushroomhead: This is an industrial aggro metal band which has eben around just a little before Slipknot. Funny sotry is that Mushroomhead fans were bashing and even fighting with Slipknot fans because they calimed that Roadrunner Records was using Slipknot to get back at Mushroomhead for turning down a record deal with them. The sound of Mushroomhead is perfection though. 4. Children of Bodom: My favorite thrashers. When I feel like returning to the real world so I can listen to music about hating the real world I listen to these guys. Alexi Laiho is one of the greatest guitarist vocalist combo's ever. 5. Darkest Hour: Some of you might remember my huge bash on Vicotry Records some time ago. Well that's over now. I've come to appreciate hardcore music and Darkest Hour was there from the beginning. The more I listen to it the easier it is to listen to and the more fun I have. 6. Wache the Dead: This is a local band from OR. They're really good though. They're just plain heavy metal. I'm friends with lead signer Luke Wescott. Their shows are great and their song Malice is awesome. Wache the Dead Myspace 7. Nothingface: Just an awesome heavy metal band. 8. Dirty Rotten Imbeciles: The band that declared the crossover between metal and hardcore called metalcore. They're a very good band. 9. Slipknot: I've grown out of them recently although during the later Iowa days and the Subliminal Messages days I was completly obsessed. Jim Root is a guitarist god. 10. Rise Against: An awesome heavy punk rock band. Tim is a very unqiue vocalist for this kind of punk.

I've got a little german, irish, and english in me but that's to be expected if you're a caucasion in the states. I'd be surprised to meet anybody who's got pale skin and isn't a little irish. I also have traces of italian and native american in me but that don't show at all.
-
I'm a big nu metal fan and also death metal and punk. I gotta say though that half the stuff in punk coming out today shouldn't even to thrown in that catagory. I say we call it Nu Punk from now on people.

Ah, this seems to be problem with others too eh. Yeah, my mum is like killing me. I can't get out of the house ever to see my girlfriend and it's killing me because she'll find the smallest things out of line and use them as excuses to tie me to the house. Anyhow, like Sayuri Sama said, just stay strong. Making it through this sorts of obstacles are what build relationships and make them stronger because you grow together emotionally.
-
Yeah, Sevendust is alright. I checked out some of their stuff awhile back but never did really get into them. Although I do like the song Black from their self titled album back in 1997. Also I like the song My Ruin from the Mortal Kombat Soundtrack that they were on.

All I could do was sit and wait. The burning city around my sanctuary was only a shadow of what destruction I would soon witness. It was about six months ago when they made contact with us. A strange people from the outside world, beyond the land which we called out home. They came in search of something. Some kind of weapon. I was very young at the time so I remember very little. This was before they enslaved my people and took our land away. I was sent to Kyodai, the capitol city of the Rosette Empire. Lord Walken-President of the Rosette Empire, he's an iron fisted leader and takes no mercy. At the time that my city was being pillaged, he was leading the charge, killing off everybody, lighting fire to my home and the homes of all other people living there. He seeks to find a weapon, which will ultamitly bring down an increasingly bothersome group of rebels that have fought long and hard over the past 50 years to bring down this dark empire and return peace to the world. The rebels contacted me recently but all messages in and out of the capitol are surveyed. They found the message and I was instantly charged with treason and am now waiting for execution. Not that I'm sad or anything. Being enslaved is not the life I wish to live. If death means freedom than I'm ready to die. Please, if you find this, you must stop Walken. Sincerely, --Slave #17-025 Mai Akane ---- The year is 2155. Around the turn of the century, a new ruling power came into play. it crushed what was left of the democratic world and formed a new worldwide government. For a time things seemed like they were working out. Than around the first decade a new emperor was brought into power...Walken. He was much more forceful and cruel hearted than his predeccesors. Soon the world was engulfed in flames as he went about going to war with any place that stood out of line. A band of rebels formed, naming themselves, the M.M.G. otherwise known as the Mother Machine Gun Battalion. Their objetive was to bring down the empire which Walken had now formed and return to the ancient days of democracy and freedom. Walken ran mad with power and fury and found himself stopping at nothing to destroy the rebels. A rumor had been floating since the days of the formation of the Rosette empire. It was a rumor that there existed a weapon in the old cities that could obliterate the entire world if needed. With that sort of power Walken would have any enemy begging for mercy. With only the name Phage as a clue as to what it may be Walken set off in search of the weapon. He destroyed entire cities to find nothing. The rebels began searching for it too, knowing that a power such as that could turn the tables on the Empire. Now it's your turn. Choose a side. Empirial or Rebel. Name: Age: (Over 19) Side: (Empirial or Rebel) Description: (Pic will do fine but a written description is even better) Background: (Try to be creative) Weapons: (No limits. Just no stupid crap) I'll submit mine later when more people sign up.

Yah, Metal maniacs is indeed the greatest for your death/black needs. Metal Edge is great too but it revolves around a broader range of genre's including some punk, emo, and nu metal bands. Anyhow, back to Cradle of Filth. I've never really minded Dani's voice although I can agree that it sticks out. The first time I listened to the band though, I was more overtaken by how much just listening to it made the hairs on the back of my neck stick up. The overall mood Cradle puts across is extremely effective at get people just alert and on the edge. Just don't go around claiming that the band is serious death metal or black metal. You've got to remember that not all your sources are as reliable as you believe them to be.
-
Ah Cradle of Filth is awesome even for us crazy nu metal-heads. Oh and by the way, the girl in the Nymphetamine song is Liv Kristine and she's worked with the bands Atrocity, Heavenwood, and Embra et Amigo. She's also been in the bands Theatre of Tragedy and Leaves Eyes. Anyhow, my favorite album is "Bitter Suites to Succubi" just because I can enjoy every song on there. Songs like All Hope In Eclipse, No Time to Cry, and Born in the Burial Gown are friggin wicked sounding. As for their newer stuff. I dunno. Nymphetamine was good but it just didn't sound like the Cradle I listen to. I wouldn't suggest going around saying you love Nymphetamine, it's a good way to make others think your some sort of "poser" Has anyone seen the episode of Viva La Bam when Dani shows up and plays a show for them and Vito and Dunn are running around in NY from Bam? It's hilarious! But yeah. Cradle is a very talented band.

I'm an avid wicca. I've gotta say that as long as you live your life to fufillment and do good and not evil than you're not going to hell. Alot of bands like Slipknot will obscure our lines and make people think that paganism is satanism because they use our symbols and make it seem like it's some sort of satanic symbol. As for satan, I would say that being a pagan means that satan doesn't exist at all right? It's like an entirely different view than christianity so how would satan infiltrate the lines of our religion? Again, just live life to the fullest and do good.

Lol, obviously most of you don't look at song meanings. One line doesn't make a song random, now does it? Mr. Jack is a song about police brutality. The whole beginning is about a person named Mr. Jack. He represents society. The whole beginning is about the government's need to know everything about everybody. Then "7 a.m. in the morning, came to take us away Little men, big guns, pointing at your heads" represents police brutality and how they overreact to the smallest thing. The next part represents the same thing as "7 a.m. in the morning, came to take us away Little men, big guns, pointing at your heads" but it just puts it in more understandable terms. Then the "**** you Pig!" part relates to Charles Manson. To Charles Manson, pigs represented cops, government officials, famous people, just about anyone who was going to die in Helter Skelter (which was everyone except his Family) so "**** you Pig!" just represents revolting against the police and government. Alot of people take System of a Down as a band with loads of random lyrics. Solder side is obviously a play on words; Solder, suicide. It talks about people being brought up only to die. It highlights the pointlessness of war and fighting. But back to the very point of this thread, saying that Mr. Jack is the best song ever. Well, I disagree. It's by far SOAD's worst and probably most unproffesionally done song but meh. Finally, to clarify things, I myself do not agree with many of SOAD's lyrics. Chop Suey is good because it's fun song and it was meant to be the song that describes the band as a whole.
-
Ja, Nu Metal isn't metal at all though. Like I said, cousin genre, not a sub genre. I mean yeah, some Nu Metal is moshibble. Like Static-X but than even Static-X has slower songs. All bands have slower songs, but the question is, are they aggresive?
I like System of The Down yet i think they fall on the alternative side?
Yeah, mainly more modern hard rock in my opinion. Don't think you can't mosh to SOAD though. I've done it before to B.Y.O.B. down at the local arcade. If you want a clearer defintion of Nu Metal go to the thread heavy metal that was fairly active like a week ago, and read through it, and than you'll understand. Back to concerts and moshpits. I bought tickets for the show on thr 30th in Portland with In Flames, Devil Driver, Trivium, and Zao. That's gonna rock. I just hope I don't get killed.

We're prying these days eh? Lol, the ten random songs thread is pure genius but there's the chance that we don't really see all the embarrasing things that you listen to. So simple question ya? What albums do you have in your CD Case or what albums do you own. ~My list~ Rob Zombie: Hellbilly Deluxe, The Sinister Urge, Past Present Future. I still couldn't see a moshpit at a green day show. Half of their last album was played on the friggin radio and either it was way too fast or way too slow to mosh too. But, the same goes for bands like Slipknot. People don't mosh at Slipknot concerts because Slipknot isn't as fast as metal. And SlowChemical, I'll save you from the mighty Jake, by telling you Slipknot, Static-X, Disturbed, and Lacuna Coil are all Nu Metal bands (crediting Jake for teaching me this) Nu Metal could be considered a cousin genre to metal but isn't metal. Usually at Nu metal concerts you can't mosh because Nu metal is more trip out music, not fast and agressive, fighting music. Now, punk rockers mosh also. Green Day just isn't a mosh band though. I've seen a moshpit however at punk rock concerts with bands like Anti Flag, Rise Against, and cKy.

Within the confines of his small room, Toshi sat on his full sized bed. His gaze remained upon the ground, at the cold lifeless flooring. His room wasn't very decorated at all but there were some pictures laying, scattered about the room. Might as well get packed Toshi thought. He stood and approached the closet where the bulk of his belongings were kept. It seemed that after each mission, the supply of his own clothes would grow thinner. A small black suitcase sat on the floor of the closet. He smirked and picked it up. "Heh. Getting a little worn aren't you," he said talking to the suitcase. Toshi sighed. How pathetic. You're talking to your stuff now. What's happened to the old, social person you used to be, he thought. With that Toshi went to the closet and grabbed a couple pairs of jeans. He inspected them making sure that they were clean and there was nothing that stood out. If someone from a past mission had noticed anything and saw it again it would pose some kind of threat to the security of his fellow soldiers. A small rip near the knee on one pair of pants caught his attention. "Damnit,' Toshi muttered. He threw the pants back in the cloest, "I hate this job." Toshi finished his packing and headed for the door. He looked back at the room and than left. The same thought ran through his mind each time he left for another mission. What would happen if he lost what shelter he had? Where would he go?

Ah man, you gotta get in one. Like Jake said. Moshpits are something else. Everybody is smiling, and hitting each other, and getting shoved ,and lost. Even wet if that bands feels like spraying you out. I wouldn't say there's many moshpits at Slipknot concerts mainly because they're not fast enough. hard yes, but just not fast enough. Some songs are fast and moshibble but Slipknot is definetly not a moshing band.
-
SoaD is a great band in my opinon, definetly a band I could see a moshpit goin down in. Ads for saying that after their self titled they went down, I have to disagree, Steal this Album is when they went down. They didn't originally get much hype for their first album and Toxicity was when they were really discovered. Steal This Album, Mesmerize, and Hypnotize are the results of being mutilated my being successful and put in the the extreme mainsteam. Anyhow, Disturbed is coming to Portland, OR like on the 9th and 10th of Jan. I'm going with a bunch of friends. The Moshpit is gonna rock. Than on thr 30th, Trivium, In Flames, Devil Driver, and Zao are gonna be there. I'm prolly gonna go to that one. That's the one with the serious moshing I think.
-
Yeah, I'm one of those people who grew up with Sonic as well. He's been my favorite game character since I was a little hombre'. Anyhow, I bought the game. I agree with you all, it's another attempt at a fast moving Sonic game with complexity driven into it making it hard to do everything. I wouldn't say Sega as a company has gone downhill, but the developers for Sonic, Sonic Team have been pulling the company into the **** holes. Anyways, I'm prolly gonna go through this one and try and beat it for the sake of knowing what the hell Shadow's past is or whatever. I'm not worried about the sonic franchise though. Next year, around the time of Playstation 3's release, Sonic Team is going to release "Sonic the Hedgehog." Yeah, that's the title, and it's a back to basics. Like what the 2D games where like but in 3D.

I met Seiji, uh in real life his name is Colin, but we call him Seiji for some reason? Anyhow, I met him in like uh, the second grade because we had this new teacher coming to work at the school and they picked a few kids from the other elementry schools and he was one and I ended up in her class. It was awesome cuzz he was short, asian, and sort of pudgy, not especially but noticable and I was a little pokemon nerd. So yeah, I guess we became friends cuzz we were misfits, have been ever since.

I can identify with alot of Slipknot's early lyrics before they went all like, maggot pride and crap with Vol. 3, back when they were like screw society. One in particular song by Slipknot however, stands out in my mind as something that clearly identifies with my own life. Diluted, which appeared on their self titled album, is about putting a wall up around yourself, metaphoriclly speaking. For me, it's been what I've been doing. Like a filter. Those who I think I can trust I let in and those who I don't are gone. Slowly though my filter is growing and I'm growing mentally. It's also a big screw off to those who treat the uncool kids like ****, because in the song it's like "What did I do to deserve all of this," and saying that we're our own society. The other lyrics make you go insane because you're like I can still relate with my enemies though. Like a conflict going on inside. And that's where each and every one of us is diluted. It's the one song I believe in most, in all of Slipknot's songs because most of their lyrics contradict each other but have a special meaning to them. This one stood out to me.

Lol, moshpit at a green day concert? I'm trying not to laugh for you sake friend. Anyhow, like I said in previous threads, I've been to some local bands concerts and than there was one awesome concert with Black Dahlia, Shadows Fall, It Dies Today, Adozenfuries, and The Haunted. It was a pretty small, indoor place and the turnout was bigger than they had capacity for so the moshpits rocked because you just got tossed everywhere, people losing crap. Ah bliss.
