1. OtakuBoards has the Event Arena, which currently hosts Otaku Big Brother II. I'm not sure if it will be holding any large 'RPGs' such as OBBII in the future, but Adventure Arena is really the place to start an RPG.
2. I think the Pain Killer poem is fantastic. A perfect display of some peoples emotions and it really uses imagery well. You are an excellent poet, keep it up :)
3. You need a host, such as Boomspeed or 250free. If you wish to show an attachment in your post so people don't have to click on it, do as Juu instructed. First of all click on your attached image. Right click -- Properties and there should be a URL towards the bottom. Copy the URL and click "edit" on the bottom of your post. Paste the URL into the following tags (without the *) [*img]-Image URL here-[*/img] and it will show up. However, using OtakuBoards for the sake of hosting is against the rules. 4.
there is nothing on the screen
If you mean in terms of traffic, I don't think they would have attracted many people to the game if they fully recreated London traffic, lol.
you really don't have as much freedom as Vice City
True, but I would never compare this game to Vice City. It seems to be trying to be more realistic and to pull away from the whole GTA type of game. Once you complete the game you can roam around the city, as far as I know. There is no health bar, no map. I think this is very good indeed, as you don't really get a little dot that follows you on a map in real life, or something that tells you when your death is imminent. The only way you can tell that you're injured is by looking at your character. The only really unrealistic bit is the fact that the police officers all carry guns, which really doesn't happen in the UK. The fact that I can drive past my house is a very cool bonus as well :p
5. I suppose mine would be: 1) Start training again (been a bit lax lately, lol) 2) Start Wu Shu and Tae Kwon Doe classes 3) Enter a martial arts tournament and hopefully win it 4) Tell a certain person how I feel about them :p

Discussion

If I had seen that thread, I would have closed it too. Why? Because the first few posts might have contained relevant and intelligent discussion, but after about 7 or 8 posts it would have turned into "hey yeah that's a lot of posts, wow" every single post. Of course I only started as a moderator a short while ago, and sometimes I'm still getting used to things in that sense, but I think I've made the right choices so far. If anyone has anything against any thread that I have closed/deleted they can always PM me, which only one member has done so far. I made my reason for closing the thread clear and I think it was a valid reason. In my opinion closing threads because they are going to lead to spam is a completely valid reason. If a thread was to get too large some people might think it was acceptable for that kind of spam to take place before a thread was closed, or a huge number of complaints may be made against the moderator after the thread grew to a considerable size. This could also lead to more threads like this one being made.
7. This is making me want to go out and spend lots of money on NGE episodes, lol. Excellently done section Adam, Shyguy and Syk3 :)
8. Kiln stared at Lalia and Drake, who were both staring at each other. He wondered why the heck they were beating around the bush, and then realised that love is a little more complicated than that. Kiln looked back down at the pool, it's cool water gently rippled as he threw a small piece of the bread into it. Again Kiln was caught behind the group, as he heard Xian calling him from afar. Upon catching up with the rest of the group, Kiln found himself it yet another one of Drake and Lalia's google-eyed staring sessions. He had no one to talk to. Ami was hardly the perrson to talk to, as she had denied him his heel and called him a wimp. Drake was engrossed with Lalia and vice versa, leaving Kiln with.. Xian. Kiln decided to begin some form of conversation with his old fairy friend, but found himself promptly denied the chance as Xian had sparked up another argument with Ami. Kiln blinked twice. Within those two blinks was contained the image Link. Once again Kiln's mind was plagued with the horrible images of Link screaming and squirming on his back. Kiln held his head tightly and saw the last glimpses of the group in front of him before he blacked out. Xian: KIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIILN! Xian was screaming at the top of his fairy voice, trying to get his partner awake. Kiln: Argh, my head, it happened again.. what is going on? Drake: I really don't know.. was it images of Link again? Kiln: Yeah, just.. more violent. Drake let out a loud sigh and looked at Lalia, who seemed terribly concerned about Kiln's problem. Drake's face seemed to momentarily flare up with anger and then calm down again. He looked back down at his friend. Drake: We better stop here, he obviously needs a rest. Kiln slowly rose to his feet, picking his Deku shield back off the floor. He thought for a moment, and called Xian over to him. Kiln: It's time to go. Xian: Where? Kiln: Just.. Follow me. Kiln walked towards the Desert of Mystery with Xian. Drake and Lalia were talking when Drake turned to inform Kiln of their imminent departure. Drake: Kiln we're about to.... Kiln? Ami turned and looked at Drake with a smirk on her face. Ami: They left, I'm not going to say where, I don't think he wanted you to know. Meanwhile, Kiln sprinted towards the Desert of Mystery with Xian at his side. I am Kiln Redras, I am more than capable of this.. I don't need Drake to look after me.. I don't want to hinder the group, this is for the best.

I'm going to try and order this anime from the shop I work at, since I can try and order almost any anime box-set and so forth. The designs of the areas look exceptional, it fits the RPG genre well.
10. The thing is, I'm actually deadly serious about the road trip, lol. I'd be more than happy to have you guys come along.. it would be very cool indeed. Three Brits, a car and some potatoes. Problem is trying to get the OB members to meet us one by one.. I hope the US has plenty of internet cafes, heheh.
11. I've actually got plans to go to the States and do a massive road trip, hopefully meeting OtakuBoards members on the way along. However, it'll have to wait until I can get a drivers license and learn to drive. -_-
12. Kiln continued his argument with Ami, who was persistant on telling him to take himself back to Kakariko village. Xian watched intently, letting out the occassional giggle. Eventually Kiln and Ami just stopped arguing, both realising that one was not going to overcome the other. Kiln embedded himself in heavy thought, he had been distracted by that Wolfos, but now he was able to think hard. What were those visions? They were certainly more than dreams.. why would they just suddenly come out of nowhere.. they must be linked to this quest somehow. Kiln looked up to see Drake with a stern look on his face and Lalia looking worried. Ami had caught up with the pair and Kiln was walking behind with Xian buzzing around his head. Wish someone loved me that much. Ah well, I've always got my friends. Kiln was interrupted by his usual wake up call; Xian. Xian: Hey! HEY! Fairy to Kiln! Wake up, we gotta catch up with the others or else they won't remember who we are. Kiln: Very funny Xian, race ya. Kiln and Xian ran all the way back into the group, and listened in on the conversation taking place.
13. I recently saw screens for F-Zero on the GC and it looks incredible, an enormous improvement on the previous instalments in terms of graphics. I only hope it plays as well as it looks, although I'm sure it will. The levels seem densely packed, with a lot more going on in the background and racer AI is said to be very good indeed.
14. You can post your sprite comics and discuss them in the Sprite forum, they are perfectly acceptable in there.

Bishi Bashi!

I loved this game when I played it. Just sitting with a few friends and playing this utterly mad game for a few hours is sheer bliss. The games are insane and there's plenty of games to keep me happy for ages.
16. As I mentioned before, try getting a maths tutor. They do actually work as one on one learning is more effective as you can easily ask questions without having to wait for a reply.
17.
I went over my portfolio with my professor today and he thought that the female portrait that I did on Monday was my male senior citizen assignment!
I hope your professor is short sighted, lol. I got my lovely great big fat results the other day. I got a surprise C in maths, compared to my previous score of 0 and an E. I've had a tutor for about 2 months and already I've gone up 2 grades, which means I'm on course for a B (maximum grade in my tier level). I recommend tutoring to anyone who has doubts about it as it works really well.
18. The point in taking math is that it looks good on your CV, and might help you get a dream job :) I like school for the most part, as my school has some of the best grades in the country on average. However, I think I made a bad choice, as the people I go to school with are just annoying. Popularity this, stab in the back that.
19. Okay.. this is being written in the quick reply box so don't expect anything amazing, lol. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Joseph was running out of time, German snipers had amassed on the left side of the massive hill, and were frantically looking for the allied sniper. Faint screams of dying men could be heard. Joseph might have been a good shot, but he was yet to see the terrors of war. He had not stopped to think that those were people with families that he was shooting, people that were feeling agonising pain when the cold steel pierced through their flesh at high speeds. His mind wandered, he stared at allied medics desperately trying to heal wounded soldiers, giving morphine to those who had no chance of making it, trying to make their deaths a little more painless. What have I done? "Private! Private!" A higher ranking officer was screaming at Joseph, trying to get his attention. Joseph snapped back into action and turned around, only to be barked at some more. "We need you to move up to the bank, get moving!" The officer was trying to scream over the ever-growing number of explosive shells pounding the beach. Joseph sprung up and followed the Captain up to the sand bank, where bangalores were being prepared. After some fumbling, the bangalores were ready and Joseph prepared himself for the task ahead. A million thoughts ran through his mind at once. Where to go, what to do, how to go about doing it. Get through the field, and head off to the right. Take cover underneath the bunker and move up from there. He ran this through his mind, trying to make sure he remembered it. The bangalores exploded in a mass of sand and dust being flung up into the air. Many of the soldiers screamed and ran through the two man wide hole, trying to avoid being shot by the roaring machine guns. Joseph strapped his rifle around his shoulder and began running towards the ash covered field. He forgot all that was trying to remember beforehand and ran right, catching up with the remaining soldiers to make it through the death trap. A lieutenant did a brief head count and took a quick look around. A concrete dip ran through the right side of the bunker, and it clearly led inside. "Grenade.. give me a damned grenade!" The lieutenant cried. The other soldiers grabbed grenades and handed to the Lieutenant, who immediately pulled the pins and threw the crude explosives down into the dip. Joseph could hear the screams of the soldiers, as they clambered out of the dip they were shot by the men in the platoon. No way out.. "Okay boys, we're moving down into there. You, sniper boy! Use that MG, you're no use to me inside." Joseph didn't feel insulted, the lieutenant was right after all. Snipers are no use for close range combat. Joseph jumped down into the dip and climbed up a small ladder to use the machine gun. He had only used an allied machine gun, and that was in training. Spreading his feet apart, Joseph took aim at the opposite bunker and opened fire. This is all I can write right now, I'll edit this a little later :)
20. OOC: I've stopped writing in bold for the RPG, I think it's a bit hard to read in terms of seperating characters. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Kiln watched Lalia walk towards the lane towards the meeting point. She was completely focused on Drake, unable to take her beautiful blue eyes off his face, which now had a small smirk on it. Xian caught Kiln staring, and bumped into his face. Kiln: Hey! Kiln waved his hand at Xian, telling him to shut up so he didn't embarrass Drake. Xian complied immediately, much to Kiln's surprise. Kiln's mind wandered. Minutes felt like hours as he thought about what the outside world would be like, what facing unimaginably strong monsters would be like. He wondered if he would find romance as Drake was obviously discovering, right when he got his wake up call. Drake: Um...well, shall we get going, then? Kiln snapped back to reality and caught up with the group, who had already began leaving Kakariko village. The outside world was bright to Kiln, he had barely skimmed the outer limits of Kakariko village, so he wasn't as well-prepared as Drake. Kiln shielded his eyes from the bright sunlight until they adjusted and began walking after the group. Lalia was strolling close to Drake, they appeared to be having a good conversation, with Lalia laughing and constantly blushing. Kiln saw Drake the happiest he had been for a few days, and he found himself relaxing a bit. The group edged past a few trees, and Kiln felt his mind wandering once again. However, this time it was a little more potent. Kiln saw flashes of Link in front of his eyes, he seemed to be screaming. Kiln held his head and dropped to the floor screaming, unable to cope with the sudden images of Link before his eyes. Drake jumped and turned around, surprised at the suddent outburst. As fast as the flashes had come on, they discontinued and Kiln stopped screaming. Breathing heavily, Kiln tried to stand with the help of Drake.
21. I just had my mock GCSEs, which actually do count for something. They determine what level test my school gives me (higher, intermediate or foundation usually) and if I was unable to make the final exam they would taken into consideration as my final grade, since they are real GCSE past papers.
22. Kiln sat up in a cold sweat, gripping the sides of his bed. A dream, a bad dream.. The dream had been about Link, about how he had heard the news of his death, how bad he felt because he couldn't be there for his friend. Three hours until dawn.. I can't sleep. Xian: Can't sleep huh? HUH? Get up slacker! Kiln almost jumped through the roof. He hadn't seen Xian in days, which was unusual for someone with a fairy. Kiln: Where the heck have you been Xian? It's been almost four days now.. aren't you supposed to watch over me? Xian: Well, y'know how I can't resist a good lady fairy.. Xian buzzed around Kiln's small house, almost knocking everything over. Kiln's deku shield was the greatest victim, slamming onto the floor with a loud thud. I better go... Kiln leapt out of bed, still talking to Xian about his lady fairy friend. Kiln: So how did that work out then? Xian stopped buzzing around the room and came to a halt next to Kiln's shoulder, where Kiln heard him let out a large sigh. Xian: It didn't.. Oh well, there's always a next time! Kiln giggled. Xian had been gone for three entire days only to return empty handed. Xian: At least I had a girlfriend! Even Drake's gettin' it on with that Lalia girl down at his place. Kiln: Well, that's different. I've never had anyone interested like that before, s'all. Kiln let out another hefty sigh and removed his sword from the mantlepiece before picking his Deku shield up off the floor. Xian zipped behind, although he had no clue where Kiln was going, he was too busy laughing at him. Kiln approached the North Entrance and decided to get some sword practice in whilst he waited for Drake and Ami.
23. This is the beginning to a story I am currently writing, set in World War II, please tell me what you think. :) The Sniper's Way. The air was filled with anticipation. Hundreds of soldiers huddled into tiny carrier boats, hurtling towards the coast of France. One soldier, Private Joseph Wiggs, stood at the back of one the boats. He didn't bother listening to the Captain, who was roaring at his men, trying to boost their confidence for the battle ahead. They'll all be dead before they step off the boat, we're in the middle of the pack. Joseph thought to himself. "Thirty seconds until drop-off!" The boat operator nervously exclaimed. Joseph gave his Springfield a quick once-over, everything seemed to be in working order. "Okay men, this is it!" The captain screamed as the boat ripped into the sandy beach. Without a moment to spare the front door fell open, allowing the allied soldiers to storm onto the beach. Storm they did not, as a machine gun opened up on the front bay, just as Joseph predicted. The bullets tore through the men in the platoon, not allowing them to even touch the sand before they died. Joseph took quick action. He hoisted himself over the side of the boat into the water. Keeping his rifle above the waterline, he headed straight for the shore, where he found a wrecked British tank, obviously left behind after Britain evacuated it's soldiers from France. Joseph watched the other boats slam into the shore, once again opening the bay doors. This time most of the men were lucky, as machine gunners had run out of ammo. Realising he was staring, Joseph crept to the side of the tank on his hands and knees. He took his scope out of his pocket and took a look at the huge concrete bunkers which were encasing the German forces. Joseph took in as much visual information as he could and ducked back behind the tank, affixing his scope to the Springfield sniper rifle. He decided to use the left side of the tank, as it would allow him to take out any soldiers on that side without the Germans on the right side being able to see where the bullets were coming from. Joseph raised his right eye to the scope and the rifle to his shoulder. Everything seemed to slow down to him, as the machine gunners continued firing on the boats and soldiers below. Joseph lined his sight up on the gunners chest, waiting for him to discontinue firing. There. A loud crack eminated from the barrel of the gun as Joseph squeezed the trigger. The bullet ripped through the Nazi soldiers heart. Blood coated his torso as he collapsed to the floor in agony. Joseph thought nothing of it and pulled the bolt on his rifle, listening to the distinctive noise of the bullet leaving the chamber. Who's next...
24. There has already been a thread about this particular subject, please post your discussions there. The Thread.
25.
As for Nintendo...they have confirmed that they are indeed working on a successor to GameCube.
According to what I've seen it's called the Magma. A red console that actually looks rather similar to a PS2, although it has a holographic "N" in the center. It's 256-bit and will still use discs, but this time they will be the same size as DvDs/CDs and so forth. However, Nintendo have also said that the Magma (if it will be called that, Nintendo have changed the names of their future consoles many times in the past) will not be DvD playback compatible. So in a way Nintendo are sticking to their games only policy, but they seem to have realised that an outdated piece of hardware would not be able to compete well in a market with machines that perform three times as well. As for the console "war", I think that the GameCube is finally starting to pick up speed, with sales increasing to over twice their original amount since the release of Mario Sunshine. I really think Sony are trailing behind, especially in the UK. Many new games released on the PS2 have failed to make a significant impact, with GameCube out-performing the PS2 in terms of current sales. On the other hand, Microsoft have pulled their socks up and started to release some good, original games like Blinx. Live! has finally got a confirmed release date over here in the UK, which will no doubt boost XBox sales, which for the past year have been at a low rate. I think we'll just have to wait and see ;)
