*bounces up and down, cheering* I got the Triforce of Courage, YAAA-- wait a minute....that makes me just like Ganondork --ah, dorf, now. *sits down and sucks thumb sadly* Ask away, Mei. ;)

I couldn't really bring myself to hate Tetra too much. Say...(major spoilers ahead)...
is Laruto really Ruto? If so, what is she doing at the Earth Temple versus the/a Water Temple? And why is Medli the sage of the Earth, instead of the Wind, and the little Korok (Kokiri?) of the Wind, not the Earth?
They've gone and renamed a bunch of species and characters, begging the question if this is the same world of Ocarina.
King Hyrule says it is, and explains why;
we've been told as much, anyway. But why the renames? oO;
-
Both pigs and Cuccos swim quite well, regardless. (Have you ever seen either one swim? It's pretty funny.)
-
"Crystal Wind". Ooooo. While I don't like the purple color itself, >.< I think all the effects are nice...except for the top central. The pixely thing kinda breaks up the otherwise fluid image. 8/10. *thumbs up*
-
The image looks smoother, but it's still too empty for my taste. =\
-
*blinks, looks around* How did SPX know it said "Master of Darkness", then? OOOOOOO, gorgeous! The colors so work together! This one is eye appealing, and the fonts are GORGEOUS! I'd say just make the text as absolutely black and dark as you can, and you're set. (BTW, TN, what do dashes mean in kanji? *doesn't have example*)
-
OOOOO, I wanna learn how to make AIM expressions, too! Heh, that one works very well with the Liquid Skin here at OB. Nice.
-
*thwaps him* You left Freya out! ^^; Yeah, anyways...it's all right, but I've seen those images so many times it isn't funny. The coloring is ok, but the text seems to hide in the banner. 6/10.

*thwaps James and Sem* You people and your sound systems. >.> I want one too... Heh, anyways, like I had said in the Zelda: Gamecube thread, this game reminded me of Past when I first played it. I was also worried about the length. (Quite frankly, I LOVED having that many dungeons in Past--that's why I was turned off from Mask.) A short and sweet review from me is that, while Waker presents nothing new in the gameplay aspect (it's leaning heavily toward platform for me right now, which is kinda startling), it does persue something I feel the Zelda series never touched much on until now: characterization. That's why we are enjoying the dramatic faces and lighting effects and so on. I know that's why I am, anyway. The sound effects for the captioning, the facial expressions. Someone said that this game isn't afraid to make fun of itself. True, but in a deeper sense, it's not making fun of itself--it's being more "true to life" (as true to life as a fantasy game can get ;)). Like Link's reaction to his new set of clothes. Or Tetra's snideness. Or the way the King of Red Lions will yawn while he waits around for you. Or...and I could go on. This characterization was touched on in Ocarina and Mask, and I'm pleased to see it in a much stronger form here. (Be honest--before this game, when was the last time you laughed at loud during one of the Zelda series?) As for best game? Well...there still seems to be something missing from the game in general (I don't know what), but I have yet to finish to game, so I'll wait till then to say.

OoC: I'm all for pulling some kind of twist in the story that'd let us start this all over again. I'm partly confused and partly angry about stuff. Sorry if Keio isn't using her Mons as an army like everyone else! :bluesweat ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Princess tripped over something in the ground and fell to her knees, gasping. Behind her, she could hear the rustle of Peach's feet as the Champion joined her. "Are you ok, Princess?" "Just...fine..." Keio gasped, feigning her energeticness. "All right, if you say so," Peach replied, looking doubtful. "Why don't you get some rest while I go back to that stream I saw. I'll catch a few fish, get them all fixed up, and we can catch our second wind." Still gasping, Keio just nodded. "And--" Peach's voice cut off in a startled gasp as Rabbitha the female Rabbitmon burst out of the tall grass. The Armor Champion bolted past her, then tried to skid to a stop when she spotted Keio. "PRINCESS!" Rabittha cried out before collasping completely. "The poor creature!" Keio cried out. She dragged herself to the Digimon and patted her head. "C'mon, Peach, let's get her to the stream you saw." With a weary grunt, Keio hefted the limp Rabbitmon on her back. "But...you..." "I'm fine. Really. In comparison to her, I'm as fresh as a daisy." Peach shrugged and helped carry Rabbitha's rear end. "It was terrible," Rabittha sobbed, relating all that had happened to her and Rabbito. Keio had listened with a grim look, and even Peach looked noticeably disturbed. "You'll be ok now," Keio murmured, faking her assurance quite well. As Rabittha laid her head down, Keio stroked it absentmindly, thinking over her next course of action. "Do you still want to go after Haku now?" Peach whispered, so as not to wake Rabittha up. "You aren't going to believe me, are you?" Keio asked, eyeing her. "You know," she added with a lopsided grin, "as my protector, you should be trusting my judgement and supporting me." "But your safety comes first!" Peach insisted. "Yeah..." Her device glowed softly, then intensified in brightness. Keio looked to it in wonderment, then fear, as she saw similiar pulses of light in the surrounding grass. "Peach...Rabitta?" Peach stood up, peered into the grass. "What is it, Peach?" Rabitta sat up, her ears twitching nervously, her nose in constant wrinkles. "Peach?" "It's trouble. With a capital T." A quick count of the lights showed there was eight...whatever they weres...in the grass. Keio felt sick with fear. Beside her, Peach shifted. "Don't worry, Princess. I've got your back." So saying, the Champion ran into the grass; Keio gasped helplessly as she lost sight of Peach. "One...two...THREE!" Peach bounced out of the grass on three, and extended her claws. "Time to come out and PLAY!" She crossed her arms and flattened her ears against her skull; in an instant, she was enveloped in white light. The clawed gloves fell to the ground, no longer needed. Peach gave out a tigress scream as she willed herself to be bigger, stronger, exactly what Keio needed her to be. And the device agreed. "Mikemon digivolve to....PERSIAMON!" The Ultimate was lost to sight again among the grass, but she had already gone to work on whatever was out there. Several bellows and painful cries tore out of the grass, and it shook terribly. "She...she might need help," Rabittha twitched nervously. "I...I think I'll help." And she shot into the grass after Persiamon. Whatever anyone had ever said about rabbits being flighty, silly creatures was instantly washed away as Keio's device activated again. Rabittha's heart pounded loudly, now from fear...now from excitement. It was time to join the battle! Her stub tail wriggled furiously, then grew pointed, lashing out and stretching far. Her legs, well known for speed, stretched farther to gain more running abilities, now equipped with deadly claws. Arching her back to test her new legs, she felt something spring out of her shoulders; with a feathery rustle, her new wings caped about her. "Rabbitmon, digivolve to...MIHIRAMON!" She roared loudly, her face a terror to behold, as she barreled after Persiamon, then lifted her friend on her back. Knight and Steed. The Princess would be safe. And so will you, Haku...And so will you. I promise.

Forgive me for not knowing where to put this, but what's up with the FanArt site? I sent some stuff in a few weeks ago, and the site itself was last updated at the very beginning of the month. Does this mean the site is no longer taking art? Or that there is no longer anyone to mantain it?

The best thing we have at the moment is the person who's PM box is full gets an email telling them so. However, it'd be easy for us if there were some way we could tell here on the Boards if our PM box is full.

Well, let me put it this way: the video game world goes in cycles, from seriousness to silliness, from goofy looking to graphicly awe-ing. Nintendo is stepping away from where the PS2 is right now; not that I'm saying one is better than the other, no! It's just that variety is good. As much as I loved the Ocarina "series", it's just as welcome to be in the more "loopy" mood. (Did anybody else catch that pose Tingle did when Link holds the Tingle thingie up? Bwee hee hee.)

Like I was telling my friend last night, the Rito tribe are definitely my new favorite species. I've always wanted wings, and now....expect some fanart soon. ;) *hugs her Valoo plushie* He's nifty. I must say, the thrill of taking on that first boss, spazzing out and going, "whatdoIdo?whatdoIdo?". There's a LOT of mimicing of the old games, but instead of it being restrictive, it actually enhances it. I still love that Squid minigame on Windfall Island. ^_~ O DANG--I need to take that
golden feather
back to Dragon Roost Isle. OOOO, there's PLENTY to do in this game. It's funny--sometimes I'm so afraid this'll be a short game, but then...the sheer size of it all...so wonderful. *is quite happy, still*

Mmmm....you know, I've played both Animal Crossing and Wind Waker, and I see a similiarity in facial expressions and some sound effects. But I agree with Charles here--you can spend minutes on end doing nothing and loving it!
I just about died when I played the Squid MiniGame at the island the King of Red Lions takes you to the first time he finds you. Guy: Ze village children are saved! *switches head boards and adopts girlie voice* YAY! If you haven't played that part yet, you must--just to hear the guy!
I heard that Saddam has now been finding ways to blow his own people up (well, kill them, anyway, I forget the details), in order to blame it on us (the whole civilian casulties bit). Anyone confirm or deny this (I trust sensationalist reports about as far as I can throw them). Anyways, I'm all for the war in order to remove Saddam from office, period. With as little life loss as possible (I've said that before already). There's been this really sweet 20 year old Air Force kid coming in every day since last Friday. He's getting shipped out Sunday and...well, it put the whole thing into perspective for me. These are very real people fighting over there, out there. And I don't want people to die needlessly. Bush doesn't want that, either. I still say that this whole mess was long overdue for a major cleanup. It's just sad that we have to do it this way.

*clicks his "Shut Up" button banner a few times without success* Was that directed at me? ;) Did I mention this plays like an interactive, gorgeous animated movie? It feels that way to me. Interactive is the best way to grasp a story--you feel it rather than just watch. *grins ear to ear* Since AC is out for me tonight (Tom is closed, Des), I get to stay up till 1:30am again playing. (Sorry, Des.)

Usually, the Sinking Lure can be found in the grass around the edges of the Fishing Pond, or between the three rocks in the area where the creek meets the Pond. After an hour of frustration and frothy screaming of profanities for the (censored) fish to bite already, you can lug in the Hylian Loach. However, the owner will make you throw it back, because it is so rare. Question! What is the name of the enemy that operates the Search Lights at Forbidden Fortress in Wind Waker?

I'm very bad. I broke my promise to myself to do my homework. V_V (I still have about half of it to do.) ON THE OTHER HAND, it was freaking worth it. My gosh, I love this game. For all you A Link to the Past lovers, this is definitely a game for you. I cannot emphasize that enough, because that was the sense I was getting as I played. Tiny nitpicks, like some of the cheesy sounds effects (picking up Rupees, getting-a-new-item music, and so forth); I'm doing a tiny bit of wrestling with the camera in a few rare occasions. And to a small extent, the cartoonish faces still clash with the realistic moving bodies, but that's only noticeable to me when the body's moving too real for the face. I really like a lot of the character sounds. (Except for the weird one when Link rolls.) They fit very very well. And the scene where Link gets to
Forbidden Fortress
--hilarious! I bust out laughing over that--his expressions were priceless! All in all, starting off at a good pace, and enjoying it immensely. (But I still need to get my homework done first.)

BWA HA HA! I got my copy in my hot little hand right now!!! ...but I have to take care of my mountain of homework before I can start playing. >.> Which means that won't be till tomorrow. (Which is also why I'm not on AIM tonight.) Stupid EB went and threw in the Player's Guide, too. Beh. Stupid temptation to play with that book. HEATHENS!

Are we talking about that
freaky special ending in KHs, where the animation looks a lot more sweet? If so, I thought the hooded guy was Rikku, and the girl was Kairi. It makes sense, since Tifa was a NPC in the first game.
OoC: I'm posting this and no one's gonna stop me! :smirk: If you don't like it, tough. Make it work. That's the way we always did it back in the OBs' Golden Age of RPGs. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Keio watched the battle between Fuijinmon and Phoenixmon. She clenched her fists, which Peach the Mikemon remarked on. "Princess?" "Yeah?" "If you clench your fists any tighter, you're going to cut yourself with your finger nails." "Oh...sorry." Peach gave her a worried look, and Keio returned it. "It's Haku," she responded to the unanswered question. Peach's ears shot up and her eyes narrowed. "What do you want with him?" the Champion hissed. Fuijinmon shot something at Phoenixmon, who dodged. The earth shook from the force of the hit, and the humans or Digimon not involved in the battle took cover. They knew better than to get involved in a fight between Megas. "Peach, he's not--he's not like that. Not the one I'm sure I know." "He kicked me!" "It wasn't him...didn't you hear what the Zassomon was saying? Something about M.A.G.E.?" "But Princess--" Keio looked hurt. "You're starting to sound like Kyukimon." "Isn't that what you want? She seems pretty on top of the protection thing, and I only want the same, since you saved me." "I love Kyuki...I do. We had a similar meeting to the one you and I had when we first met." "And?" Keio laughed. "Even then she was stubborn and protective." Phoenixmon shot off a Crimson Flame, and Fuijinmon deflected it. The fire exploded into a ruby haze. "This is not the time to fondly remember old times," Keio continued. "I know Kyukimon wouldn't let me near Haku--that's why you and I had to sneak out. But if you won't let me go either, then I'll...I'll just have to go by myself!" Peach was startled by this. "Your Highness..." "Don't you start!" Keio shot back. "You can come or you can stay, but I'm not going to be stopped." "How will Kyukimon be able to know what to do?" "She's smart, she'll figure it out." Keio paused a moment behind one of the overturned vehicles, spying a small transmitter. "And if she needs me..." She snatched it, making sure Dantu hadn't seen her, then began to dart stealthily away. "But Princess--" Peach hissed, "--you don't even know where to start looking!" Keio didn't look back, didn't stop. Peach muttered something and scratched her head with her claws. "I can see why Kyukimon's the way she is, if you do this all the time." High in the sky, the two Megas kept their audience and each other distracted, so no one saw Keio and Peach slip away. I'm coming, Haku, Keio thought, just like I promised I would.

*squeals happily* I GET MY GAME TONIGHT! *runs around in happy circles until she falls down, dizzy and nauseous* I won't be able to play until tomorrow after class, but that's ok! OOOOOOOOO!
-
You even threw one in the ocean?! Seriously, I burst into loud (and embarrassing) laughter when I read that. Boy, I'm looking forward to that part! :D Basically, everything you've said was on the Zelda.com site, so so far so good. Indeed, I'm imploring ALL OF YOU to remember the spoiler tags from this point on.

Well, but I know you know what one is, because of your s/n. Let's see if there are any peeps out there willing to fight for your Ultimate Knower of Zelda Info title (anotherwords, this is a test to see how smart the rest of us are :p). *huggles her Breko plush and waits*
