1. I don't really eat that much fruit, since my parents never buy much of it. My dad usually gets several apples at the store every week, but I don't like how the skin gets stuck in my teeth. And I only like green apples, since the red ones have some pretty icky tasting skin. My absolute most favorite fruit are strawberries, though. I just love them more than any other fruit. Cherries are awesome, too. I have a soft spot for plums, but I've never actually had one--I just played one in a skit at school, and my friend and I have this ongoing joke about them. Whenever I play Clue, I'm Professor Plum.
OJ is the nectar of the gods. :p
I'm the authority on the nectar of the gods and I can't stand orange juice. So bleh!
 2. This is pretty much the crappiest picture in the history of ever, and I know you probably have no clue what it is without me telling you. But to me, it's the very definition of "a captured moment." Davey Havok (AFI), Godwalking The "godwalk" (also called headwalk, crowdwalk, etc.) is Davey's trademark stage move. During the breakdown of "God Called in Sick Today," he stepped on to the crowd and was held up by only the hands of the nearest fans. I knew this was going to happen, but I didn't expect to be five feet away from the spectacle, and I wasn't going to let a deteriorating cell phone camera take that moment away from me. Attached: Some cute napkins I found in an outlet mall on the way to Disney World. I would've bought them, but I settled for taking pictures.
 3.
Goosebumps series by R.L... Stein? Stein I think.
I remember those! My favorite was the one where the kids all turned into dogs. I don't even remember why I liked it right now, but I know I did. I was also fond of their choose-your-own-adventure books, too. In middle school I really loved Midnight Magic by Avi. There was also a book called the Monsters of Morley Manor, but I don't remember who wrote that one. (Might've been Avi, too, but I have no clue). In elementary school, everyone was into I Spy books. The library had a bazillion different versions of them, and half the time I went to check one out they'd be all gone. Captain Underpants was cool then, too. As for when I was super young, I really enjoyed Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, Bamboozled, and the Stinky Cheese Man. I have a vague recollection of loving Grimm's Fairy Tales, too, and it definitely seems like something I would've liked. I still do, of course.
 4. I'm not superstitious, but my friend is. We were sitting backstage during a rehearsal for my school's production of Alice in Wonderland (I was Tweedledum, and she was the Queen of Hearts). My other friend, Tweedledee, had an umbrella prop and was practicing opening it. The Queen of Hearts freaked out and stood up, announcing how superstitious she is, and ran to a different part of the backstage area. The funniest part was that we found a heads-up penny right where she had been sitting. Tweedledee said we should leave it for her to find, haha.
What get me most are the urban myths.
Me too, although I'm not really afraid of one actually happening to me. I read one about a man pretending to be a clown statue in someone's house, and I for a few days I couldn't stand being alone in a room. Also, last summer, I heard a cat meowing sickly out my window several nights in a row. I remembered the urban legend about a serial killer playing tapes of babies crying to lure his victims to him, and I had to convince my sister to sleep in my room that night.
 5. I don't even know if you can upload non-picture files to OB. For audio files, you can use www.myspace.com or www.purevolume.com to upload the songs and have people play them. To download, there are sites like www.megaupload.com and www.putfile.com. Video files can go on www.photobucket.com, myspace, and www.youtube.com. I'm sure there are plenty of others, and if you want to use a different one, go ahead.
 6.
It seems odd to me to consider N64/PS1 games as oldies, but I guess they're two generations back now. I still think of SNES/Genesis era and older games.
I guess I consider those consoles as oldies since I got my N64 when I was eight years old (half the age I'll be next week), and that I have to actually hit the system to get it to read any of my games. Besides, I don't even remember 1998. That might just be a testament to my horrible memory, but eeeh. I used to have one of the NES systems (I can't remember which) that I loved playing Mario and Double Dragon (I think) on. That thing broke years ago, though. :/
 7.
Does it have to be video? Cause I have a crap load of mixes and stuff on my computer and stuff, but I haven't recorded myself actually playing since it's mostly synth loops and stuff on the computer.
Nope, it can be an audio file too. Just as long as it's your take on a prewritten song.
 8. I just recently got in the mood for Legend of Zelda. I've been playing Ocarina of Time for about four days now, and it's not the GameCube version. I'm surprised my N64 still works (and I didn't even have to hit it with a hammer this time!) Of course, the game still scares me like it did when I was younger. Especially the Bottom of the Well (where I am right now, home alone. :[!)
 9. Yesterday I learned how to play the Windmill Hut theme from Legend of Zelda (Ocarina of Time) on both lead and rhythm guitar and bass. Then I tried recording it. The song turned out alright--it's nowhere near perfect and it certainly isn't CD quality--but I think it's at least listenable. It's located here: Nectar of the Gods myspace So, now it's your turn. Record yourself playing a song (could be from anything: video games, TV shows, anime, whatever. It can also be by a band or musical artist, but the aforementioned media is preferable). It can be an audio file like I made or a video of you playing the song. It can even be as crappy as mine (and crappier! but at least make sure it's not horrendously terrible quality). Let's show off our musical prowess, or lack thereof. Hah.
 10. Well yeah, I can't honestly call myself straightedge, because it's more like "under 21." Not that I'd do anything when I am of age, though. I won't preach straighedginess to anyone--if someone wants to drink or smoke or do drugs, it's their own choice and I (for lack of a better word) respect it. But a very very good reason for me to BE straightedge (eventually) is that I will have much better things to do with my money than spend it on alcoholic drinks, cigarettes, and other stuff. An addiction would really injure my future priorities, like paying rent and buying food.
 11. 1. Blaqk Audio; "Bitter for Sweet" This is an electronica project made up of Davey Havok and Jade Puget of AFI. Right now they have two songs out, this one and "Stiff Kittens," which can both be heard on the Blaqk Audio myspace. This song is my favorite of the two, though I haven't heard Stiff Kittens as often. The lyrics to the first verse are in my signature right now. Their album, CexCells, is coming out August 14. 2. The Cult; "Painted on My Heart" My friend sent this song to me the other day, and I've listened to it quite a bit. I can't really explain why I like it so much, but I'm fond of a lot of 80's songs like this. 3. HorrorPops; "Walk Like a Zombie" This is just some fun psychobilly, which is pretty much a mixture of rockabilly (the style of music from the 1950s) and punk (I believe). HorrorPops, as well as several other psychobilly groups, are influenced by horror movies and incorporate that into their music. I haven't heard much by HorrorPops, but I love this song and "Julia."

 13.
Shh! It's not cool to admit you like those things here! I think too hard about the possible consequences of things. That's why I used to be crap at crossing the road. "I can go now - but what if something comes around that corner? - Maybe I'll - no, now that car in the distance is too close - what if I got run over, would anyone visit me in hospital? - wait, how long have I been standing here? Where'd the moon come from?" In short, indecision is my anti-drug. (I can cross the road just fine now btw)
Haha, me too! I still can't cross the road by myself, and I'm not very good at it even if someone else is leading the way. But that's not really why I'm not into drugs. I've just never been interested in them and I'd rather keep my body free of any abusive substances, like drugs and alcohol. I guess I'm one of those apathetic people, combined with interest in the straight-edge lifestyle.
 14. 7:45 The food selection was just as gross as it had been the day he arrived. Julian stood at the table, his stomach throbbing with hunger. Don't eat yourself, he thought. But he began to wonder if he would have to survive off his own organs the entire time he stayed here. He hadn't eaten since he left home, and he foolishly didn't think to bring any vegan foods with him. He backed away from the table, defeated. Thoughts of starvation entered his mind, but he walked out of the cafeteria very quickly. Then there was Joe, once again. What the hell, Julian thought, why is he always where I am? "Have you eaten?" Joe asked, arms akimbo. Julian's stomach let out a ferocious growl, and Joe arched his eyebrows. "It doesn't sound like you have." "I'm not--" his stomach roared once more, and he sighed. "...hungry." Joe wasn't convinced. "You have to eat something. You're going to need your health." Julian frowned, his eyes avoiding Joe's. "There's nothing in there I can eat. And what do you mean, my health?" The man pursed his lips and peered at his clipboard. Julian wanted to grab that thing and toss it out a window. "Nevermind. Just try to find something, okay?" He moved past Julian into the cafeteria. Julian sighed and followed him, his stomach rumbling viciously. OOC: I really need to get Julian out of this loner mindset, hah.
 15. Of course. I'm a musician, so music is at least half of my life, if not more. I can think of plenty of moments where music "took my breath away." Both times I've seen Trans-Siberian Orchestra, for instance. I think I've ranted about them enough times. Their live concerts are outstanding. Everyone should find them on YouTube and see, even though the videos are a billion times less amazing than the actual live show. Also, AFI knocked the wind out of me. I adore pretty much anything having to do with them. You know someone really loves a band when they're too sick to go to school, but still goes to the concert, stays standing for well over six hours, and sings and screams along to every single song. I'm STILL depressed that February 1, 2007, is long gone. :[ It's not just band music that amazes me. I'm an actress, and I've been in a couple of musicals, so of course I love Broadway and whatnot. The two musicals I've been in, Into the Woods and Annie, have been some of the best experiences of my life. Seeing musicals also gives me some kind of natural high--my friends were in Beauty and the Beast this past weekend and I'm still happy from seeing it twice. The music from that play is so good, and I teared up several times (whenever I think about the song Beauty and the Beast, I want to cry). But what really takes the cake is when I saw Wicked. For months prior to seeing the show, I was obsessed with the soundtrack and knew all the words to every song. My favorite was always Defying Gravity. So, I was expecting to cry a little when they performed that one. However, the very moment
Elphaba began to fly,
I started sobbing uncontrollably, and I didn't stop til' the intermission.
 16. I also hate the beach. It may just be the crappy beaches I've been to here, but I honestly have no fun when my family goes to one. The past few times we stayed at the beach, I remained in the hotel room nearly the entire time, leaving only to go out to eat. (The TV did have a built in Nintendo and I managed to beat Pokemon Snap in exactly 59 minutes, but I digress.) I bet I can complain about pretty much everything at the beach: 1. The sand. I can't stand having sand stuck to my body or in my clothes, so even walking on the shoreline is unpleasant. Besides, Florida sand is always HOT. Ew. 2. The sun. Apart from being often times blindingly bright and uncomfortably hot, the sun pretty much murders my skin. I've gotten slightly sunburnt just from sitting outside for thirty minutes at lunch--even while wearing long pants and a jacket. I'm sure if I risked spending any amount of time at the beach, with it not only burning down from above but reflecting off the water, I would start sizzling. 3. The water. Every beach I've been to has been on the Gulf of Mexico, which is always warm and salty. I really don't enjoy swimming whatsoever, but the gulf is the worst place I can think of to do it. I'm scared to death of any kind of sea-life, whether it's sting rays, jellyfish, sharks, and even whales (which I don't think live in the gulf, but I'm still afraid of them). Once I was standing in the water near the shore, and a massive school of sting rays barreled past me. I freaked out and nearly flew out of the water, and I don't think I've been back in the gulf ever since. I'm pretty sure I had other stuff to whine about but I lost my train of thought. Oh well. Waaah, waaah, waaaah.
 17.
Yuki Kajiura: I don't know if she counts, because I don't think she's part of any group, and she only sings back-up. But she is my absolute favourite anime composer (sorry, Yoko Kanno), and perhaps my favourite modern day composer. If you don't kno who she is, she wrote music for Noir, Madlax, many of the .hacks, and and the new Clamp anime (something like Tsubasa Resevoir)
She counts, since she IS a musical artist. She's my favorite anime composer as well, but I've only heard her work on the .hack series.
 18. I've never had a purse or any kind of handbag in my life, and I don't really plan on getting one anytime soon. However, I do carry around stuff in my pockets. I always have my phone, and on occasion I'll keep my iPod with me. I also have this cute little change purse type thing that's white with red polka dots and anchors. Its contents include: - $1.80 in change (sometimes I'll have actual money, but right now I'm broke) - Jack Skellington charm (I was using it and a Cheshire Cat charm as the zipper until it broke off) - House key - Various receipts and a ticket stub from my school's talent show - School ID, library card, and Despair Faction membership card - Guitar pick
 19.
@Clurr: do you have any plans for when you do manage to lucid-dream? Because it sounds (from this thread and your LJ) that you're progressing in leaps and bounds.
I do have a lot of plans for such dreams, and they often keep me awake because I continually expound upon them as I try to fall asleep, and most of the time my mind seems to do it on it's own. My ideas range from playing concerts to meeting certain people to actually live all my stories as if the characters really existed. In all of the dreams I'd use abilities that I definitely don't have in the waking world, such as flight. It's sort of strange, since a lot of sources I've read claim one must record all their dreams in a journal for at least a month in order to attain lucidity, but I definitely haven't done this. In fact, the many times I woke up early I couldn't even remember having any dreams the previous night. Then when I went back to sleep an hour later I was so close to having a lucid dream (and one morning I actually did, albeit a very very short one). I've also found out that experience sleep paralysis makes a person extremely tired. I hardly had the energy to move the entire day after I was paralyzed. My mom is really skeptical of this whole thing and didn't seem to believe that I really had experienced any of it, and blamed my excessive sleepiness on being vegetarian. Psssh.
 20. I would like to meet the rest of the staff, if not for any reason other than they're my colleagues. We've had some fun moments before, and I think if we actually got together in person it would be a blast. There are also several nonstaff people it would be cool to spend some time with; pretty much anyone who has ever commented on my writing, like Allamorph and DigitalBoy, as well as anyone who wants to meet me (which I'm pretty sure includes Nomura, :P). And Sara, even though we've never really talked; she's just very cool and I know we like some of the same movies (Labyrinth ftw).
 21.
My most recent dream that I remember felt like a re-enactment of Stephenie Meyer's book Twilight, that I'm still reading. I became obsessed over the chapeter where she's almost pinned in between her truck and the other vehicle. (If you've read it, then you know what I'm talking about) In my dream, however, I actually did get pinned in between them and I didn't die immediately... I just felt pain and then woke up.
OMG
 22. The only chance I get to have tea of any kind is when I go to either of my grandparents' houses. Both pairs of them know how to make some amazing sweet tea. I guess it's a southern kind of thing. As for coffee, I don't think we even own a coffeepot. As far back as I can remember, my parents have never made coffee; my mom always drinks diet coke in the morning. She always orders a cup of decaf when we go out to eat, though. I don't even remember the last time I went to a coffeeshop. The only place I've ever been is Starbucks, but the last time I went in one of those it was to go to the bathroom (and possibly catch my favorite band buying soy lattes, but I found out they had been in there just before we were. >:[[[). When I first saw the commercial for the new Starbucks drink thing, I wanted to try it so badly. I never found it in stores, though, and all of my friends told me they didn't like it. Oh weeelll.

 24. I haven't looked at any books on it, but whenever I wanted to focus on lucid dreaming I would read the stuff at www.dreamviews.com and poke around their message board. I've read that if you get too excited during a lucid dream, you could wake up or lose control. That might be what happened to me this morning, but I don't remember feeling very excited. Who knows. :P
 25. I think my very first thread here was about weird dreams. Hah. The past few weeks I've been trying to have a lucid dream; the ability to completely control your dream after realizing you're dreaming. I would fall asleep saying "I'm dreaming" over and over in my head, or I would sleep for five or six hours, wake up and read about lucidity for about an hour, then go back to sleep (called the Wake Back to Bed technique). The first time I did the WBTB thing, I dreamt that I woke up (a false awakening). I didn't realize it was a dream, though, so when I woke up for real I was mad at myself. The next morning the exact same thing happened. I became less interested in lucid dreaming for a couple of days, but I kept waking up after five hours of sleep. Today I went to bed around midnight and woke up before 8. After doing stuff on the computer, I decided I was way too tired to stay awake, so I went back to bed. This time I had yet another false awakening, but I finally remembered to check and see if I was dreaming. I plugged my nose and I could still breathe through it--which meant I was definitely dreaming. Before I could take control over the dream, though, I found myself back in my bed and completely paralyzed. I remembered reading about sleep paralysis so I remained calm and hoped that once I got out of it I would be back in a dream. Unfortunately, I just woke up, and I was mad. So, talk about your experiences with dreams. Nightmares, lucid dreams, sleep paralysis (also called Old Hag dreams, I think), astral projection or whatever, etc.
