1.
I know, think about the crazy **** that could happen if an actor was president. They might try to put weapons in space or some other random crap, you know?
Actually what I was referring to would be the drama and scandals that would be produced- celeb. soaps on a whole new scale and at taxpayer's expense too. Still that post is win.
2. ~Dark?s HQ~ A black stone on a pedestal before Darc?s seat began to glow a dull purple, almost like a clouding swirl. There was then a ripple of orange, and the face of his subordinate appeared in the stone. Lucy had news to report. ?My Lord, the survivors of Knothole have appeared as you predicted. Already the blacksmith seems to be concerning himself more with survival and restoring the town?s function than worrying about who did this- but having fought him before he?s surprisingly skilled using the same hammer that smites his irons and may prove to be a nuisance. He?s lucky I let him live before, but later on we might need him since in his heart is a darkness that we might be able to tap. ? Came the face and sinister voice of Lucy over the darkly glowing stone, swirling dark energies around her image. ?What are your orders? I am in an excellent location for observing at present, they have not yet detected me.? ~Ruins of Thundering Irons Smithy, Knothole~ It seems I am not alone. There are presences in the area, we are being watched. Odin thought as he continued working. Already he had started a campfire and using the little bellows to increase the fire?s heat begun making the parts he would need to repair the forge. The anvil, while it had been damaged, was still workable. It rang loudly as he struck the iron upon it, the sound carrying on the wind as it had always done. Other survivors of the explosion might hear it and come to discuss what had happened. Of course there was also that hidden presence nearby, but it hadn?t moved in a while and the whispers on the wind weren?t coming from there. Still it wouldn?t hurt to check it out, since it if was an enemy observer it could prove to make matters complicated if the enemies that burned the town were to return. The fairly new and strange girl Sue walked towards where his shop once was, a hand on her sword and a look of uneasiness on her face. She seemed to be feeling the presences too, while Lucy had hidden quite well whenever she looked at someone her cold stare would send chills up and down the spine even if you didn?t meet eyes with her. ?It?s just a servant of evil, she?s hiding in the raspberries over there.? Odin remarked, loudly enough that Lucy would be able to hear him and be alarmed that he had detected her. ?Odds are she is only observing or she would have attacked me by now. Still, when the rest of us gather we should drag her out of that bush and interrogate her since she is clearly connected to this.? A bead of sweat rolled down Lucy?s forehead, she could not believe that she had been discovered so easily. She turned to the black stone with the glowing red eyes that was carried around her neck but now was being held in her hand, and whispered ?I may have to break off and relocate, it seems that blacksmith figured out what was up. So far he and a swordswoman have shown up, but he says there are others in the area.?
3. Sounds interesting, of course I have no idea who this is since I live on a mountaintop. When I heard my dad voting for Bush, I thought he was voting for the one in the front yard not the one who looks like he got hit by the pickup truck. Still, that is something this election lacks, is a representative of the majority American. And hell no I am not voting for Hillary Clinton. Bad woman that is. Female president in our future may be, but her as our president would only be worse than Bush. Dunno if he will actually go through with it, I do remember a certain Arnold something becoming the Governor of California in recent past though so it is possible. Scary though, what this country would be like if the media celebreties took over the government...
4.
Wait. People masturbate for religious reasons???
You wish. Though I'll admit it would certainly be one popular Religion. I think what was being referred to is that many religions consider it a sin, or a borderline sin and that not everybody believes in such a religion.
5.
And besides, who are they to judge me based on something they've never done. Like I said, if they did it at all they'd know why I was doing it myself.
Not true at all, while a lot of people will judge something they have not tried themselves a lot of people have also tried it and judge it to be bad. At the very least they preach it as bad while practicing it themselves in secret, as has happened throughout history. In all probability it was never actually mentioned, the concept would have originated from interpretations of two or three of the ten commandments, or potentially even a less popular religion that was assimilated and coverted by Christian monks or jewish rabbi. That doesn't change the fact that last I checked it was socially unacceptable, and those who do enjoy it usually do not discuss it publically- at best you'll see a bunch of guys talking dirty in a locker room (which is where my earlier statement about bragging because they wish they could meet their claims holds true, it is commonly known as locker room talk) or partially drunken at a college party.
6. Because we all know that in the near future money-grubbing shareholders of computer softwwre writers will be a thing of the past. GNU Open-Source FTW
7. That's why I took so long before posting, is because I knew my opinions would be very unpopular. Sadly I can't sleep right now, and am very bored. Revolver, when you are such a nerd that you dislike porn and think women look better with their clothes on, it is natural that people would assume such things about you. There's a lot more than meets the eye though, and I see no need to explain this further since it is my personal business- and I am sure a lot of people would feel the same way and would prefer not to know about your habits.
8.
Ooh, look who decided to drop by from the Middle Ages! How nice! ;D You can leave your brimstones out of the conversation next time, oh thou who shall not judge others. Is that alright with you? Masturbation is a healthy, safe and completely normal way of getting to know your body. It's evident that you haven't done it enough. ;D
Dear me, but I do believe the ones who are really gettin' some are dead silent about it, while people who brag freely about it like DB and Revolver only wish they could do what they are claiming. The ones who actually do are silenced by their guilt. I don't have to judge others, though I do like to because it is in my nature to do so. As far as I am concerned, do as you see fit as long as you aren't hurting anyone else. To anyone religious though, it is definitely a sin no matter how you look at it. But I find that most people don't follow the religions anyway (I sure don't, despite being heavily influenced by Roman Catholic I now actually follow a mix of ideas) Yes I like the medieval way, no other age could have invented such a delightful term as 'bastard' to describe a child born to an unmarried woman, or 'Slut' to describe a bar of freshly smelted iron that all of the French blacksmiths were given a piece of. I don't have to bust out the religion on you people, since even I don't actually believe that I just use it as a reference for morale. And it is a reliable way to get to know your own body and check yourself for problems that you might experience later in life. And Revolver, only a pervert would actually be proud of having done that. Sorry, I'm not that kind of guy.
9. It most certanly is something that you just plain don't talk about if you really do that I never could get a clear definition of lust, I had always assumed the strictest possible form of it- which will surely send me to hell because I like the feeling of my GF's curves when we are hugging. But in any case, this is definatey lust, the deadly sin punishible by being thrown into brimstone. If you do it don't tell anybody about it since it is highly shameful if it goes into public knowledge and just hope that whatever diety if any controls the afterlife has the same tastes as you and lets you off the hook- or that when humans die there is nothing at all.
10. You're looking at the biggest thing that keeps me awake at night. Many a night I stay up late to read the new posts on this and several other forums, and find out what's going on with the RPs. I have also been known to run Marathon-Mode Anime on weekends, and my best ideas always seem to be right around midnight when I am trying to go to bed. I still find it wierd how I am extremely uncomfortable when I try to sleep laying on my back, but once I roll onto my side I fall asleep fairly quickly if the blankets have warmed up. Also I tend to wake up regularly during the night due to various sounds- Thunderstorms are well known to wake me up, but there are also more subtile sounds that work too. Most nights I wake up 6 or 7 times, squint at the clock, listen to the silence of the house for a bit to make sure nothing sounds wrong, and then go back to sleep. It is wierd though, because while I don't fall asleep easily or quickly once I finally am sound asleep I just plain don't wake up in the morning. Usually I try to go to bed at exactly midnight, and wake up at exactly 7AM, of course neither usually happens reliably- but the goal is to balance out at an average of 7 hours of sleep per night, more than that and I don't wake up, less than that and I stop sleeping reliably. There have been times actually where I have stayed awake for 36 hours straight, but after the last incident caused by that I have not done so in a long time.
11. I have a single song by MCR- Teenagers. Only because they do scare the livin **** out of me. Dead or Alive You Spin Me Right Round Now this is good music. I just got this today, along with a couple more songs from Blue Oyster Cult and some Twisted Sister. Only played through it about twice, but absolutely love it especially the guitar and keyboard effect. Has a good beat for dancing too if I ever want to try it.
12. STYX Come Sail Away I had liked this song for many years, especially when travelling or sailing on one of the local lakes. Last summer I saw it live in concert, which was awesome. It's still one of my favorites, and probably the all-time most played by this band in my collection.
13. Trans-Siberian Orchestra Wizards in Winter We are all familiar with the coreographed lights set to this song that took the internet by storm during the winter of 2005 correct? Apparently it had been spoofed to LoveHina for a christmas special, and made it's way to AMV Hell 4. Well now having seen the spoof, it is once again stuck in my head and probably will be for some time.
14.
Man, you're in dual denial. First you claim that girls lust after nerdy boys, but they are just too blind to see it. In the words of the Great DB: WRONG! Girls - especially the better-looking ones (or the ones who think they look better when they dress up like hoes) - usually have this distaste towards anything that's smelly, sweaty, pimply and dresses like a clown (ie nerdy guys).
As far as I and many guys I know are concerned- the ones who are all beauty fussy and dress up like whores are the worst of the lot, and will only lead to trouble because they spend too much and will gladly leave you for another guy even if you do keep them happy. Truly hot girls don't have to wear revealing outfits or a ton of make up to look good, they just naturally do. I have also noticed they tend to be self-conscious about their looks, which helps stabilize relations with them because you can then complement them from time to time so they feel better about themselves. I think the definitions are different around here. In this area the nerds are typically very clean and precise, the most visible determining factor that makes them a nerd is being behind in the style department in addition to just plain knowing too much. There are also cool and not cool nerds, but many of the not cool ones fall into the geek variety or blur the line between the two. True some of the nerds get zits but many take measures to control them. It is the geeks that are dirty and smelly, nobody likes them at all. Of course you also see the Jocks who only are popular because they are on the sports teams, typically being followed by the slutty types who think they can easily hook up with one.
Secondly, you say that sex is the last thing guys should have in mind when they're searching for a partner. Again, WRONG! Sex is the very first motive of countless straight guys to do pretty much anything with a girl - even if they know they can't have it immediately, it's always patting the path for the future. This might sound degrading, but that's just how it is for us guys. Emotional bond with the partner comes later than the thought "I want to have sex with that person", but when it does come, it can every bit as strong as women have. ;D Few exceptions don't make a rule. ;P
I'm not the only one in this area who would be perfectly happy dying a virgin. In my mind and several others I know sex is something reserved for a married couple, and in all reality is only important for the continuation of the family. It is perfectly possible to have a fun and active life without resorting to sex at all. And I would rather spend my life with somebody who would be there for and with me in work and play, than somebody who the only thing we agree on is that we both like the bed. Though for most people and areas you probably are right Sandy, I just do things differently is all. Comes from being a nerd and thinking too much. But there is no denial at all, I am by far not the coolest guy in the school and I am hardcore nerd, but that doesn't stop people from liking me a lot. Pity it wasn't until recently I realized that what I always thought was them annoying me was actually them trying to be friendly, if I had known that sooner I would have a lot more friends right now.
15.
Actually, I've got a nerdy friend with a GF who took his virginity :O So maybe there's hope! Though I don't get along with her, so maybe not for me XD
There is definately hope, and I can't be that far wrong when I too am a nerd and am currently blessed with a GF, I believe I mentioned it already in another thread. Though I don't see why you would mention the virginity deal in a thread like this, when picking out a GF that should be the last thing on your mind.
16.
Only if the nerd is cool.
Not true. I think a lot of times girls are drawn to nerds but we're ignorant of that fact, and end up chasing them away with the less beneficial nerd tenancies.
17. My moderator sense is tingling... OH NOES! This isn't my forum! I have no power here... Seriously though, is this just a random spam thread or was it supposed to be something.
18.
Your first post at an anime message board is asking for advice on women? These are whiny nerds that you're asking! GIRLS DON'T LIKE US.
What are you talking about? Hot chicks love nerds, we just don't know how to tell them we love them too. It isn't really that hard to learn you know. Seriously, just go for it. After you've been talking to her for a while (preferrably a few weeks, seem interested but don't get quite crushy) then make your move- ask her. Above all be yourself, if she likes you she will be drawn to you, if not then it wouldn't work anyway. I would aim for frienship first, if that works out then you can try for something more. Either way, don't be crushed if it turns out she was only looking at you because she hadn't seen you before and she really is dating somebody else.
19. ~School Grounds, Computer Lab~ ?Already on it. And Light, why would we need the security clearance? I doubt they would give us anything hot enough to require any more information than we can get from the news feeds, it would be a huge security hole for them because for all they know the information might leak, in fact I can guarantee that the lines here are not secure and any information sent or received through the school computers can and usually will be viewed by the school?s Tec support staff. The school monitors everything coming and in and out on their network in order to keep people from going places inappropriate for a school environment.? Odin answered, still searching for any leads available. ?So far mostly all I am finding on him are a series of petty crimes and unpaid fines, they probably got tired of it and asked us to help find him. Though it does seem most of his activities take place in the lesser districts and he favors twilight for his capers. There is also mention on this site consistent with what Ayame said about him having interests in young women.? Odin ?M? answered. The hypnotic dancing of the lights on the network equipment changed patterns again, and there was a slight humming as the projector and the computer controlling it awoke by an instruction Odin sent to it from the machine he was currently at. Initially it displayed a simple image- a fancy script ?M? in black on an otherwise white screen. In a matter of moments though, the data Odin had found began appearing in windows on the screen, a listing of all the sites that that so far seemed relevant, new ones appearing every second or two as the search engines continued generating results. ?I already see a pattern to his habits, and have a suspicion where his next activity will be. However, basing off of what we know so far I think we should exchange theories and information, seeing if anyone else has found something relevant that the search engines I use may have missed.? Odin asked the people who had remained in the room while still not looking up from his computer screen, he knew that Light would also catch on to the pattern and realize that the place where he would be likely to be seen again was on the route taken by Light on his way to and from the school
20.
She's just an example, a deterrent. Like when they used to string up pirates and criminals to scare people into being good. I feel bad for her because there are people with much larger collections of downloaded music getting off scott free; they basically picked her name out of a hat. I don't see the problem with downloading illegally. The record companies are greedy as hell, and the more money I keep from them the better I feel. The same goes for YouTube videos; copyright laws are ********. Freedom of information and all that.
Definitely freedom of information, in fact I am going to laugh my head off when something bad happens to Microsoft- Based on the way the nerds and computer techs are balking about windows Vista, and the number of open-source replacements for Microsoft stuff hitting the industry, I think Microsoft is in for it good this time. Sorry bill, but I think in the near future the Penguin is going to replace you. Serves you right for being so greedy about your licensing. I personally love open-source, software that is completely free and in many cases quite superior to proprietary codes like windows, in fact if it wasn't for one of my favorite MMORPGs not working under Linux I would use that all the time instead of just when experimenting. While I understand these musicians wanting to get every penny possible for their work- point of fact I would too, lately it seems the industry is just going too far. Fact is there are a lot of people that want to have the latest and greatest, they aren't going to wait for somebody else to rip the MP3 and add it to their P2P stuff. They'll be right there in Wal-Mart the day the album is released, buying it by the millions so that they have it. Personally, I think they need to shorten the duration of copyright. It should only last maybe 2 years instead of the 50 or so it lasts now. Patents only last 10 years, that's plenty long enough for a product to hit the market and return big money for it's creator without hindering later developments because of royalties on the patent after the 10 years is up.
21. IN the ending of the series Atmosk had been revealed and then moved on to another planet, the only way you might get a sequel is if the characters end up together on a different workd. I would just as soon not have a sequel of it, too many really good series are ruined by the addition of sequels.
22. Be yourself. If they love you it will show, and in your love for them do so in a way that both respects them but also makes them feel special and important to you. Love is not always easy, many times the world will intervene to make your life difficult or even attempt to force you apart. Don't give up, love is said to be the most powerful force known to humankind. If you don't lose faith you will find a way. Be there for them. When they are feeling down, be there to comfort them. They will someday do the same for you, and in the process your love will grow. Don't look for sex in a relationship. Sex is not anywhere near as important in a lasting relationship as people try to make it seem. While it varies from couple to couple it is generally best to concentrate more on companionship than worrying about that all the time. In my opinion, it is best not to have sex until after marriage. Dates do go wrong. Any number of events can happen that would make it not end well, just be there for your loved one and finish it- the show must go on. After it is over you can pick up the pieces and try again, maybe the next one will go better. Today marks 6 months that Momishin and I have been together, and I hope for there to be a lot more.
23. Well, after finally quitting the last forum I had been chilling at whenever I had spare time this place is it. There are other forums I am active on, but this is the first one I check. I didn't realize this was down earlier, been out working all day. Unfortunately if I want to have any chance at making an upcoming anime convention I have to actually work for the money to go there.
24. Don't have to be quite so harsh on somebody new DigitalBayo. Mostly what I would look for is something rather unusual, odds are in final form you'll have a plotline for a filler clip. If anything, some of the best ideas might just be the easiest- suppose Naruto and Tsunade switched roles, the kind of chaos you might see in the series. I really don't have a lot of ideas either, it's been too long since I saw the series and don't plan on picking it up again. Just aim for something that you'll have fun with that isn't overly complicated.
25.
Only confirm what TheDailyOtaku has gotten wind of. The oldies are planning on doing all of us 'newbies' in! :o Why else would the boards be dying? They're all too busy planning our demise to post, rpg or be involved in the daily business of the boards.
And, all these schemes by the oldes to eliminate the noobs are only going to result in the death of OB, because the oldies won't be around forever but not having new people to maintain the levels of activity and bring in new ideas and discussions the community will stagnate and die a most painful death. I've seen it happen far too many times now, smaller forums are a lot more prone to it.
