This is something my fifth grade teacher said to me: You never get a second chance to make a first impression. (Catchy, no? I wonder where he got that, or if he made it up) Anyway, he was right. First impressions do count for something. And while it is obviously possible to work past a poor first impression, the question is--will you have the chance?

Piro- You're a great guy, and you need to be on more often...even if you have legitimate reasons for your absence. If you remember the last time I did this...you still get my Hobbes avatar. ^_~ (Inconceivable!) -Sarabel Lee Tori- (Hope you don't mind I did this. Shy asked me to post it before I disappeared for a while.) You're a beautiful gal in more ways than one, and a good artist. Post more pictures, dear. (Any kind!) -Sara-ness Solo- Heh, it's great talking to you. Today's (rather scattered) conversation was a lot of fun. (I say you should get a degree in Elvish.) Thanks for caring. -Sara Asphy- We need to talk more often. Keep updating your blog; I'll catch up when I get back. We need to write a story together some time, heh. -Sister of the Koosh Ball. Shy- What can I possibly say to you? There's way too much to put here. I love you, and there's a letter en route. -Cera/Sara/Girl Yuchimon- Well, if you even read this.. I love you, sis. I always have, and I always will. You owe me ten letters, and you can expect a postcard in the next week or two...if I can figure out how to send mail from another country. God bless, Miss Ginny. -Drayo James- I've [strike]always[/strike] admired you for a long time. Once you started posting more often (wow, this is all a long time ago), you became a person I really wanted to get to know. Well, we've gone two years without really talking, but hey...who says we need to go for three? You're a good guy, and funny, and I look up to you. -Sara Lady Mac- Hi. We still haven't ever really talked, but I do mean to. You're a really intelligent person, and gorgeous and funny to boot. ^_~ I saved the first PM you ever sent me, wow that was a long time ago. -Sara Kittylyn- You're a great person, too. We don't seem to talk a lot (although I talk to you more than I talk to most people, heh.) You're a really sweet girl, and I'm glad we're getting to know eachother. ^_~ -Birdy.
Originally posted by maladjusted I hate you. And I hate your CGing skills.
I second that. _ _ That's amazing. The character design is nice, the drawing itself is great, the CGing is brilliant.. How long did that take you to color? And do you use a mouse or tablet? Nice b/g as well. Cherries, heh. There's a glow, or a bit of stuff outside the lines here and there. And her hand seems too large, or something, but...wow. Quite excellent. ^_^ I envy your patience...and if that didn't take patience, then I envy whatever else you have.

Do we know what we have until it's gone??
Sara replied to Baron Samedi's topic in General Discussion
I think a difficult thing to do is to learn to appreciate the present without worrying about the future...or the past. Oftentimes, we become so focused on what's going to happen--Yes, it's almost FINALLY summer!--that we don't appreciate the available time to spend with our school friends, for example....or we're so dreading not seeing them over the summer that it overshadows the good times you should be enjoying while you have the chance. [That was a remarkably run-on-ish sentence.] Something else I've noticed others...and myself...doing is regretting the past too much. Certainly, there are things you wish wouldn't have happened, or things you know now that you would have done differently...but there's only so much you can think about that before it becomes a problem. And I could cry for the time I've wasted, but that's a waste of time and tears And I know just what I'd change, if I went back in time somehow But there's nothin' I can do about it now So if you can manage to appreciate what you have while you have it, that's great. More power to you. But don't focus too much on the things you have lost, and don't worry about the things you might in the future. -
Congratulations, Lady Mac. ^_^ I never could make anything out of ultrasound pictures, but just the same, heh.

Otakia, heh... Heh, I remember something Navi once said, about everyone having to wear their avatar and username on their shirt, so people would know who they were.... ^_^ We'd have to find some way to simulate text size and color, as well, heh...it's the first clue as to who's saying something. Online "voice," if you will...hm. And signatures. We'd need an IRL equivalent of signatures.

*rolls eyes at crimson* I honestly don't watch much TV. I think the last show I watched was probably an episode YuGiOh, a few weeks ago. If you are still a kid, though, is that a bad thing? *Toys "R" Us jingle plays softly in the background* Nothing wrong with having some innocent fun. Cartoons are great. Heck, I'd like to make them someday.

Writing Glimpse into Deborah's adolescent mind.
Sara replied to Lady Macaiodh's topic in Creative Works
Heh, I like this. Doesn't it bug you, though, to look at old things you've written? (I know it bugs me..) It's...neat. Heh, it is. -
That's a sad-sweet poem. A little "sappy," maybe, but it works well. Good job.
-
You even have the cow/dog shirt, heh. *thinks you need to draw Tori claiming it is a cow*
-
I like that art style, heh. Who's the one with the green hair? The font doesn't fit...find something less...kiddy.
-
That turned out nice, Blanko. Although it looks like you got fed up with the rocks. ^_~ I think it would look a little better with soe more color--it seems strange that it is just mostly monochromatic. instead of all or none. Still, good job. It looks much nicer finished.
-
Aah, I love her eyes and hair. So sweet. ^_^ Is that a bow, or something behind her?
-
Ooh, nice. Good shading and whatnot. ^_~ Her face is a little crooked in the second one, and her neck probably wouldn't bend (or not bend) like that, but it's still pretty good. Let's see some more.
-
I like the images...the greyscale with the mostly white picture of...Aura?...is kinda nice. Find two different pictures, so that you aren't flipping and repeating. And do something with the text to make it smoother. (Juna, what font is that?)
-
The quality of the picture itself is iffy. Find another, cleaner picture to use. I actually don't mind the white space in the first one. The third is also pretty good, although the quality of the picture continues to stand out. I like orange, heh.
-
The white stuff is throwing me off..and the pictures all seem to have very different moods. It could probably use a one pixel border.

Art The King Of Fighters wallpaper, Iori as the main theme
Sara replied to DarK DeatH's topic in Creative Works
Nice job cutting him out. ^_~ The picture looks flat, though, on top of the background. Maybe use a larger, low transparency picture version behind him...or something. The blues are slightly different hues as well, and it throws me off a bit. -
The style itself isn't bad; it just looks sloppy because of the size of the brush used. Ginny, 're you looking for people to color your pictures?
-
Heh, this is different. ^_^ Most of what I can think of to say has already been said. The green text gives the whole thing a very muted feel.. That's all. I like it.
-
Heheh. *grins* I love the expression on Omar's face, heh. The filing cabinet is funny. ^_^
-
Hehe, that's great. ^_^ Muy spiffendo.

Refreshing the page works just as well as posting a second time. ^_~ Double posting is really frowned upon, and if you have something to add (consecutive post three?), you are encouraged to use the Edit option. Hope it works for you. The whole thing confuses the heck outta me.

I'll stay in my own safe little happy bubble-world, thanks. [If I'm not happy, at least I can pretend. ^_~]
