"Commander-present!" sounded a sgt. at the head of lines and lines of men.

"As you were Sgt. Yohan." Gordon muttered to the sgt.

"At-ease!" Sgt. Yohan called out.

Then Gordon turned up to address the awe-struck men."Brothers!" he started, "Now doubt you have read the files on me. You know that on paper I am Lt. General Gordon Jennings. However, you all also know that to be the biggest load of bullshit you've ever read!" he smiled."You all know perfectly well who I am; and you all know perfectly well why I've come to you the way I have: We're on the brink of Civil War. But, that is all but irrelevant to why you're all standing here. You're all here because I've found a perfect opportunity to invade the Fukowlong home-world. This mission is strictly voluntary. But know this: The Seven will be awaiting any of us who return. There will not only be one battle for whoever goes but there will be one...and a war waiting when we get back. If you are with me, your General Alexander Meridius Fitch, then I ask that you file into this transport here. If you are not. Then this meeting never happened." Gordon finished his short dictation and stepped down. Slowly men began approaching the transport. One at a time at first...then they gradually began coming in by the rows.

"This is it, Alex." Yohan said to Gordon.

"Yes, it is. Upon our return to Bismin, we'll set up a new regime. This planet will no longer be dominated by the Seven Families nor will power go to the Seven Clans. The People will run this planet, and so, run this galaxy." Gordon finished. Then the two boarded the space-craft."

"Hurry, Sethi!" Lidan shouted a whisper to Sethi. "I think this is it."

"This is Danser's Peak. And this is the only space-transport on it."

"That cabbie was quick. Even moving through these mountains." Lidan said.

"Yeah...cabbies are insane sometimes. but, let's go ahead and sneak on." With that, Sethi and Lidan stuck on-board.

Lidan adjusted the hem of her tunic and straightened her gloves. Sethi did likewise and pulled out her daggar.

"Jolly nice of the deer to dig these up for us."

"Yeah, but I could really go for a cigarette right now."

"Me too."

"Do you think Gordon's gonna be happy with us?"

"Ehh, he'll wanna kill us, if we get lucky."

After a while the transport took off and Lidan was agitated, "Dammit, I'm claustraphobic." (can't really spell that word :toothy: )

"I'm not usually, but right now I am too. I think it's anxiety that's making me feel so cramped in here." Sethi could feel Lidan's arm pressed aginst hers in the small space they had crammed into.

"Anxious? Me too." Lidan nodded in the dark.

"We're two of a kind, Lidan. Two of a kind." Sethi grinned but knew Lidan couldn't see it in the light...or lack there of.

Lidan coughed, "So, what are we planning on doing once we get there, or wherever they're going?"

"Oh, who knows. I think they're en route to Plinic right now?"

"Shh," Lidan silenced Sethi, "someones coming."

Yeah, I know what you mean. However, you'll notice that a similar topic was closed when this forum was first opened.

The general idea is that the Games/RPGs forum is an area where group stories/RPGs and interactive games can be played. You will notice in the Meteo City 2 topic, that Cera often posted in a similar narrative style to the style used in this particular topic.

However, this topic was intended for the purpose of static fanstories which could be discussed by other members (either that, or the posting of other stories/poetry which can be discussed).

So it's not so much that this is or isn't an RPG -- it's more a matter of the purpose that both forums serve.

I'd personally love to see more topics like this in Games/RPGs, as I feel that they lend themselves to better expression than standard RPGs.

"Listen, General: You won't get anywhere by invading Bismin. The Seven has a military of their own you know. Not to mention the fact that 65% of Bismin's population is still in favor of the old regime." said someone addressing Gordon.

"It is my only choice. The Seven would never have ended this war with the Fukows. They're cowards. They'll drive Bismin into ruin if I let them stay. I will not deviate from my plan." Gordon said.

"Well...you could've at least stayed on Bismin long enough for your hair to turn back to its natural color. I can't get over the brown deal..." the man said with a chuckle.

"Heh." Gordon didn't stay cheerful long, "Prepare the battle mounts. We're going to follow in the cruise ship's wake until its too late for the Fukows to react. Once we've landed on the inner-planet, have the infantry begin a guerilla-raid. Dispatch the smaller transports all over the planet. I've already sent for a compliment of fighters to combat the Fukow Air&Space Force. Its D-Day."with that the two men went their seperate ways.

"Did you hear all that, Li?" Sethi asked.

"Yeah...sounds like deep ****."

"We're in for a fight, I think..."

Lidan smiled darkly, and Sethi nodded. The two picked up their things and contined to follow Gordon and the commanders. As they turned a corner, a old clothing shop caught Lidan's eyes and she nudged Sethi.

"What?"

"We need new clothes."

"Looks kinda run-down."

"Don't let it fool you, the proprietor knows the best in dresses, mens apparel, and so on, and so forth..."

"Well, ee, okay, I guess it would be nice."

 • 3 weeks later...
I finally decided to save this topic!!! ::wild cheers and applause:: Yes, yes, thank you...so I shall go with the dress shop on Bismin I guess...we'll have to work the other stuff out...later...

_________________

"I haven't changed out of these God forsaken clothes since that night?" Sethi glanced over at Lidan who nodded knowingly.

"Me neither...save night clothes and that stupid thing they make you wear at the hospital."

An elderly woman approached the two younger ones, "May I help you pretty young ladies?"

"We'd like to purchase two new items of clothing, one each." Lidan glanced around, "What do you specialize in?"

"Dresses...gowns...usually made of the finest silk." The woman started to stroke the sleeve of a dress.

"I don't think we can afford that." Sethi started to look at what was on display, "Do you have anything semi-cheap?"

The woman looked both disappointed and insulted, "Nothing cheap, but inexpensive, I can do." She disappeared towards the back of the store.

Sethi and Lidan wandered the shelves, "This stuff looks pretty nice...can we afford it?" Sethi was examining a green tunic.

"Yeah, we can pool our money."

"I don't have much, Li."

Lidan feigned surprise, "What? You don't have some sort of luxurious bank account here on Bismin?"

Sethi threw her a sour look, "As a matter of fact, I don't."

"Yeah yeah, I was kidding, Seth."

"I know," Sethi lowered her gaze, "it just brings back memories, that's all..."

"Well, I do have a bank account, so rest easy."

"You're kidding."

"Well, it's actually my great great great great great Aunt Pearl's, but she's dead now, and I'm the only blood kin she had...........so........"

"Ah, extortion."

"In a manner of speaking."

Lidan winked rougishly at Sethi's sour countenance, and then stood up straight when the lady came back to the front, holding two separate boxes.

"Okay, I've got the leggings and tunic combo, in flannel, cotton, spandex, and lycra. Colors are purple, green, silver, red, blue, and pink."

Lidan arched one eyebrow, and took out her card.

"Lycra, blue and purple."

Lidan nodded, "Yep, we will." ;)

Sethi smiled, "Excellent."

After the two had payed, changed, and mutually agreed that they looked good, they set off in Gordon's wake.

A shuttle blasts away from Bismin, carrying the two girls to meet Gordon...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Gordon paces in a large room aboards the ship, eyeing trophies of war and various other items. He stops at a picture of a beautiful young girl and strokes it with his finger tips. Then he moves to a box. He opens the box and pulls from it a long sword of classical design. It's blade and hand-guard, the purest florium(the hardest metal yet discovered). He gently strokes the air with it.
"General Fitch?" an attendant enters the room.
"Yes?"
"Long range sensors have detected the Fukowlong home planet."
"Excellent." Gordon said.
"And a shuttle approaching from the rear..." he trailed off.
"Civilian or military?"
"Civilian. But fast, nonetheless."
"All right....intercept it when it gets in range. Have the two aboard brought to me." Gordon said, almost psychically.
"Yes, sir." the attendant said with a strange face.
"Those two..." Gordon thought. Then he said, "One more thing...remind me(upon our return) to make it illegal for women to pilot shuttles and carry guns." he said with sarcastic humor.
"Eh heh...yes, sir." the attendant left.
"**** just ain't the same anymore." Gordon thought.
Lidan and Sethi both knew that Gordon was going to be furious...and likewise, neither of them gave a ****.
...
The small shuttle had been docked in the main hangar of Gordon's craft, and both women exited the shuttle's ramp to find themselves held at gunpoint.
"What's the meaning of those?" Sethi gestered (how do you spell that dern word) towards the guns.
The four men in soldier uniforms might as well have let their drool run down their chins as they stared at the dark-haired beauties, "We're bringing you to the General."
"Ah yes," Lidan mocked, throwing Sethi and sideways glance, "the General."
Sethi was tempted to take out all four men at once, being escorted by soldiers pointing guns at their backs wasn't her idea of a warm welcome.
"Excuse me," one of the men who had been studying the younger sister touched her arm lightly, "you look familiar."
"I doubt it." Sethi made her tone sour, which caused Lidan to stifle a snort of laughter.
"Do you know a Greyg Jenson?"
Sethi refrained from wincing, but her complexion paled, "Why do you ask..."
The soldier lowered his eyes a bit, his voice softening, "I served with Greyg in our younger years, I knew him pretty well for about 4 years until we were stationed in different command groups. We still kept in touch though, and he even sent me a picture of his fiancé. She looked every bit like you."
"Because it was me." She retorted almost bitterly.
"I'm sorry, miss." He sensed the irritation and dropped the subject.
Another soldier pushed them forward, rather roughly, "Here's the General's office, inside, both of you."
"Stop shoving your God damn guns in my back." Lidan snarled.
"Gentlemen, let them be." Gordon's voice heeded a warning.
"Yes, sir."
"You are dismissed." The four men filed away from the office.
Gordon turned towards his sisters and glared, "You two have no right interfering with military matters?"
"Gordon, shut up!" Sethi and Lidan simutaniously burst.
Sethi's face was turning red, "I don't give a rat's *** if this is a military matter?!"
As was Lidan's, "They destroyed our family?!"
"And, god dammit, my fiancé was killed in his line of duty...under your ****ing command, Gordon?!"
"This has every single thing to do with us just as much as it has to do with you!" Lidan finished.
Both girls stood shaking, leaving Gordon to stare at them.
"Ok, um..." Gordon gestered to the chairs around the small desk, "let's sit down...and talk."
"First of all...calm down." Gordon said calmly.
"Don't you tell me to--"Sethi stood in anger but was interupted.
"Sit down!" Gordon stood over her. She obeyed; with some hesitation due to Gordon's actions."You both barge in here(without any respect), you fight, you fuss, you *****. You have no respect for the fact that these men are trained soldiers preparing to die. Completely childish!"he yelled. "Now," Gordon went right back to a calm state,"you will be held in the dentention area(which has no garbage compactors ;)) until the fight is over. End-of-discussion." Gordon turned to a small bar, and poured himself a drink.
"You can't do this, Gordon." Lidan said. "It's our fight too."
"I can...and I will." He said as he took the drink in one gigantic gulp.
Sethi was hesitant to speak. Either resulting as fear, or embarrassment. Likely the latter. But she did, eventually break the brief silence. "I hate you."
"Wha?" Gordon looked through the glass of his second shot.
"I said, 'I hate you.' You've done nothing good for me since we met. All meeting you has done is brought pain and injury, and now humiliation and treatment as though I were a baby!" Sethi dared not stand again.
"Well...I shall treat you as you act..." he said.
"You bastard!"
"Flattery will get you nowhere." he said with a smile.
"Please, Gordon." Lidan pleaded.
Gordon stared at the two for a long moment. "It will be complicated. Orders will be flying from here and there. You'd get in the way."
"We'll stick with you." Lidan said.
Gordon sighed. Then, his attention turned to Sethi, then back to Lidan, "Make her apologize." Gordon said as he sat down and propped his feet on his desk.
Sethi's jaw dropped slightly at the comment. Lidan glanced over at her.
"Well?" The elder sister's face was irritated.
Sethi crossed her arm defiantly and glared at Gordon for a moment. He merely gave her an amused smile in return. She couldn't seem to swallow the big lump of pride in her throat...not enough to let the two simple words escape from it...
Her thoughts veered violently to Greyg, and she gasped at the the rememberance of recieving word of his death. She couldn't wish the same for Gordon...
She suddenly relaxed and hung her head "I'm sorry, Gordon."
He was still looking at her with an amused smile.
"Wipe that damn smirk off your face. I said I was sorry...and I mean it. I don't really mean I hate you..." she felt herself revealing her feelings and hoped she wouldn't regret it later, "I'm just selfish in wanting to help you out."
Lidan was a bit offended, "Selfish? Sethi?"
"Maybe that's just how I feel, Li. I just don't want to feel oppressed by a big military man, I'm not used to it."
"Well from the time we arrived at Bismin I started being a big military man, but I don't know about the oppression part..."
"Gordon," Lidan was sympathetic with Sethi's words, "you're being oppressive. But?" she continued before he could speak, "I think we both know, at least deep down inside, that it's for our own good."
Gordon smiled as Sethi nodded reluctantly.
"All right. You see it my way now." He leaned towards them, "Here's what you two can do..."
Lidan listend silently to Gordon's suggestions, then slammed both fists on the desk, her eyes blazing purple. Sethi's reaction was similar, and the two were positively sparking with supressed rage.
"What a suggestion!!!"
"You want us to get the hell out and put ourselves up as decoys?!?!?"
"What are we? Common prostitutes?!?!?"
"Concubines for a family of traitors and murderers?!?!?"
"Not exactly....."
Lidan swiftly reigned in her rage and stood still. She felt the edge of her blade and glared at Gordon.....
"I wouldn't draw that blade if I were you." said Gordon. "There are sensors everywhere in this room. Anyone who isn't cleared to pull a weapon in this room, will be incinerated." he warned.
"Ugh..." she released her blade.
"Now...it'll be like this. The Fukows have a notorious shortage of women. In fact, tha main reason they invaded Bismin in the first place was to steal women. I'm going to send you two in a shuttle a few thousand miles away from this transport. When they scan your shuttle and see who and what you are, they'll send a heavily armed security force to retrieve you. The security that we would otherwise have to fight through. When they get to close, I'll give the order to fire the ship's hull cannon. It will take care of them. Once you are secur, remain in orbit. We will retrieve you after we've taken out various Fukow stratagems and have crippled their military." Gordon stared at the two waiting for a reaction.
"So we essentially get to sit in a ship?" Lidan asked with sarcasm.
"Yes." Gordon said.
"Wow...that's such a major difference than sitting in a detention cell."Sethi remark, sacastically as Lidan.
"I can arrange that detention cell." Gordon said with a smile.
"I think we'll take the shuttle." Sethi said.
"I thought so." Gordon said. "Comrade, send a team up to escort these ladies to shuttle B-87. I'll send you further commands once the team is there."
"Yes, General."
"Oh, comrade..." Gordon recalled the man on the holocom.
"Yes, General?"
"Call me "Generalissimus" from this point forward."
The man on the holocom swallowed hard, " 'Generalissimus', sir?"
"Yes, comrade, Generalissimus."
"Forgive me, sir. But...can you do that?"
"Yes, ensign, I can." Gordon said as he switched of the holocom.
" 'Generalissimus'?" Lidan questioned.
"The supreme military commander of Bismin..." Sethi said.
"Precisely." Gordon said.
"So you really are going through with this civil war?" Sethi asked.
"Yep." Gordon said with unusual cheer. "Now go."
"Ok." both the girls said as they rose.
"And, girls. Be careful. The shuttle fully armed should you need it. And we're just a holocom away." Gordon said.
"Worried, Gordon?" Sethi asked with a smirk.
"Naa...I just don't want to lose a perfectly good shuttle." this he said with a grin."Good bye." he shut the door behind the girls.
Under normal circumstances, Lidan would've most certainly burst into flame and blasted everything in sight........but still, she reigned in her temper and glanced over at Sethi's furious face.
"We should've stayed in the detention cell."
"Yeah, at least there we were safe..........."
"What am I saying? At least this way we can get out of this miserable place."
"Yeah, and when it's all over, we're going to demand a pay raise from our beloved General-brother."
"Gag me with a pitchfork."
"No problem sis."
Both Lidan and Sethi resisted using their superior combat skills to overtake their escorts. There were times in which overpowering someone was appropriate...but they were aware that this was not one of those times.
Sethi leaned close to Lidan and spoke softly, "You still love him, don't you Li?"
She looked startled, but her face softened, "Yes, Sethi, I do."
One of the armed men, an ugly, tall man with a rather large nose, spoke roughly, "No conversation between the two of you." He weilded his rifle menacingly.
"It wouldn't be a good idea to aim that in our direction." Lidan glared.
The ugly man scowled and mocked, "I'm sure you would do something about it..."
"No," Sethi nearly laughed, and it showed as a small smirk on her face, "but your General wouldn't be too pleased if he found out that we had been murdered."
