Dark Core is the last release of a trend started way back into Labyrinth of Nightmares, with the release of Offerings to the Doomed, and continued with the mediocre Double Snare of Legacy of Darkness. Then came Pharaonic Guardian and Book of the Moon, with so much uses it should be anyone's casual deck. But now, with the release of the new card Dark Core, comes the ultimate way to deals with 80% of troublesome monsters! I mean, how can I get better, in an era of Sinister Serpent, then removing completely that big sucker from the game? Or do so with such things as Witch, Zaloog, Tomatoes, GAF etc? Then comes Quick Save. Way back when Labyrinth of Nightmares was released, I pride myself in noticing immediately the possibilities laying within Bazoo (Who didn't appear standardly in decks before a month after or so, with all the hype around Gemini and Ring). Now I announce you the possibly biggest thing since Bazoo: Quick Save. It may seems nothing at first. But what could be bad about negating an attack (targetted monster is no longer on the field, and there is no replay as number of monsters didn't change), and summoning a very powerful monster? (Jinzo comes at mind, but also a serpent or tomato in defense mode, or even a BEWD!) Yup, we would think at first that the card only apply to level 4 or amazoness monsters, but no! ANY monster can be summoned with it! The best thing is, two amazoness are extremely playable in control/burner decks: Swords Woman and Fighter. Now, I'm really thinking about an amazon deck...

It's the 1024x800 version. I have a 800x600 one, though.

Eh, funny things you do when doodling around with random pictures... This will become my portfolio's layout, though I may turn it into a wallpaper too, what do you people think?

Okay, I should again make it clear this is intended for a budget duelist, so anything more than super (and as few as possible) are used. Most evidently, a 25$+ staple-type UR cardboard piece is pretty out of most casual duelists' reach: they can't trade for it, and they don't necessarily want/can pay for it. Also, bear in mind that, as mentionned, this list DOES reflects my own bias. Sue me. D. D. Beast may be a less good version of the dimensional warrior, but, mind you, DWG is a level 4. It also does get dammage even if she removes. Most important: DWG is not released in English ? And possibly will never even be... I DID point that Wave Motion Cannon was supposed to be protected when you used it. Preferably, it should not be played without using Imperial Order. And I'm sorry about that, but Giant Germ is no use IMHO for a burn deck. (Too much counter in the Meta. I prefer Troop Dragon as a defense, unless using Necrofear)
Originally posted by Altron Gundam Its effect can only be chained by instant magic and normal triggered traps. Very, very nice card.
This is (sorry, but I have to get it out) the weakest argument I've ever seen: ANY magic, normal trap, monster effect (with some exceptions, I admit) can ALSO "only" be chained with "instant magic and normal triggered trap" The fact you still have the time to use it if it is destroyed by a Trap Hole or Torrential Tribute, and that no english cards I can think of at 1 in the morning can counter it's effect, however, are much stronger reasons to consider is as a staple (tough IMHO, you probably have all the M/T removal you ned in 3 MST, Heavy Storm & HFD). Now, I'll put my top list from a poor player's point of view. BTW, did anybody notice all UR in this set are monsters?? 1. Magical Scientist For the sheer commonness of most of the cards involved in the deck (Cannon Soldier, Last Will, the fusions, Magical Scientist, even a super rare like Catapult Turtle isn't that difficult to find!), this card get #1 by far. 2. Tribe Infecting Virus Meh! Can't miss such a staple, especially when he's only super rare! 3. D. D. Crazy Beast IMHO, this card utstripped Big Bang Shot and DMG by far: 1400 level 3 is already one of the highest ATKs at that level, the same as the revered Don Zaloog. It is undeemed by BTH, Gravity Bind and MoP, and has an effect that get rids of most common defenses (flip effects, witch & sangan in both modes, elemental summoners, Sinister Serpent, to name a few) for good. 4. Giant Orc The poor man's GAF. Only 100 less attack, but only needs a turn before being ready to use again. If you want to use the goblin, it can become really nasty. 5. Amazoness Swords Woman Definitely the nicest Amazon. Too bad it's a Super rare, or I'd have put it much higher. 6.Thunder of Ruler A control deck's best frient, this is a much improved version of Non-Agression Area, and it's a common too! It's what I call a "set and use": a card you set in order to use it the very next turn without leaving your opponent the time to react. Drop Off is another example of such a card. 7. Secret Barrel/Des Koala Here I show my fondness for burner. Secret Barrel is best used early in the game for a quick unavoidable 1200/1000 dammage. Des Koala has much more potential, but the flip makes it a bit risky, with the large number of ways to get rid of it first (unless you use Book of Taiyou), and it's defense is nice too. 8. Wave Motion Cannon Again, my burner love shows. But you've GOT to admit that, combined with Magic Reflector/Imperial Order, it's a killer! 9. Neko Mane King Probably the best side-deck card in the set. My new favorite counter to hand destruction and monster removal-based decks. 10. Poison of the Old Man For a rare versatility, and the fact it's a quick play, I do believe this card earm a spot at #10. Honorable mention goes to Decayed Commander & Zombie Tiger, Dark Core, Spell Shield Type-8, Adhesion Trap Hole, Sonic Duck, Skilled Dark Magician, Pixie Knight, Magical Merchant, Big Bang Shot, Dramatic Rescue and Double Spell.

It's amazing the interesting picture you can get by searching such strange things as "ethereal city" That one struck me as banner material.

Well, I'm not one to do much graphic design outside webdesigning, and I never got much feedback from my last posts. I think I'm not talented at titlin threads lol. *notices his banner hasn't changed in 6 months o.O* As for readinglyness (I made up a word! *giggles*), well, the jpg is harsh to the thin lines, but you've got a point. I don't want to touch to the lines (I want to keep the same effect as on the current layout ), but I made the inside more contrasted, and it does look much better.
Originally posted by CharmedImmortal Ohh kool...That's a nice webdesign....but...can you make the message a little bit more clearer? o.O
Well... I don't like one-line posts, especially if I'm the one making them, so it's nothing more than filling. I used masks, brushes and the cut tool from Paint Shop Pro to work out the layout. Simple as that.

I'd like to have some comments over this future layout for my domain. It's... well... a Inuyasha wallpaper I cut/masked/brushed.

Arakfu was straining. "We won't be able to hold on much longer!" He called over the bridge. "The X-Core is overloaded by 20% I advise we use antigrav shields to repell the boarding ship!" "Not possible!" Leech yelled back. "We need all the power we can to defend!" "We'll blow up if we get past 60% overloading! And don't say after I didn't warn you!" Arakfu retorted. He had seen worse. Right now, they had more important things to attend to. "Tentac'!" A human called two seats right of him. "Get over here! The energy sensors are going all over the place!" The shanti walked up to him, readying a magnetic unlocker and proceeded to open the firing console. He looked at power surges out of broken circuits and destroyed contacts. "Give me fifteen minutes." He said flatly, setting to work. "We don't have fifteen minutes." Another crewman noted. "Okay then, but reaction time might be a concern." Someone else yelled for him. Damned tyranid hypercoms! These things never held on for long. "They're battling onboard!" A security officer informed. "Everybody who's not absolutely necessary here, grab your weapons and protect the bridge at all cost!" Leech ordered. Aralfu quickly secured the board panel and turned at the gunner. "Don't use the automatic aiming disintegrators and all will be fine." He said, securing back his magnetic locker and grabbing his rifler. He ran to the living quarters door, where two long-nosed crewman were already occupied setting a tripod-ed heavy radiant. He set at the corner to watch. A Needle rifler wasn't a powerfull weapon by itself. It low accuracy made it mostly a short-range weapon, but it's explosive effect, creating large, extremely painful wounds in most species' flesh, made up for a eventually devastating weapon, especially in semi- or entirely automatic mode. Whoever these soldiers where, they'd meet real resistance.

Name: Arakfu Age: 23 Race: Shanti. Shantis have a mindset tghat works incredibly well with computers, working that along with their shart tantacle-like finger and a short-range telescopic vision makes them the best micro-electrnics engineer. They won't build or improve killing weapons, though they will repair them. Their strange biochemistry is based on phosphorous reaction giving them a faint, but very easily recognized smell. They are excellent gadgeteers as well. Weapons: A psi-radiant and 2 miniaturized Explosive Needle Riflers Ship: Phoenix Side: X-Force Rank: Electronics Operator (Canmedo) Description: No hair, a pale brown skin, inverted knees (like ostriches) and two small horns just above the spot his ears would be. A small scar under his right eyes. Usually wears robe-like clothes. Bio: Born and raised on Zurkali, one of the homeworld of his race, he seeks mostly knowledge of all sorts about anything and everything. To be blunt about it, he rather want to understand the powerstone than to keep others from use them.

Note: Ben confirmed to me that the Leviathan don't hinder digivolution. Aquilamon slammed into the large dinosaur-type as it charged on them. The Kunemon, quickly realising them wouldn't make much of a difference in that fight, turned at William and Tempomon. William frowned. "This isn't good..." "ELECTRIC THREAD!" the rookies shouted. Tempomon jumped in his partner's arms, and they... vanished. The Kunemon stopped their attack, unexpecting this. Kelly, who'd been cringing in advance, stared at where they'd been, when they suddenly reappered, seemingly out of nowhere. "Vibrato Pulse!" Tempomon called on as Kevin ran out of the battle. The attack sent a Kunemon flying back into a patch of overly large daisies. The other Kunemon dived and attacked from the cover of a rock. "Poison Winder!" The large caterpillar digimon sprayed a coud of greenish gas over William's partner, who yelled, covering his eyes. "Argh! I cant't see!" He coughed, crouching on the ground, trying to protect himself from incoming attacks as he crawled away from the cloud. "Electric thread!" Kunemon sent a renewed attack, making the dog digimon howl in pain at it strucked. "TEMPOMON!" Kevin immediately launched himself at his digimon, only to be shoved back by the girl. "NO! Let go!" He yelled at her. "I'M sorry, William, but you can't him now. At least, certainly not by making yourself electrocuted." She said sadly. Suddenly a blinding light came from the Digivice dangling from his waist, which shot at his partner, repelling the attack. It encased him, forming some sort of shield as his appearance was modified. ** Digivolution sequence ** "Tempomon... Digivolve to... Proctimon!" Tempomon disappears in a clock-like grey rift, which then explodes to reveal his champion form. The two rookie digimon (But could they really be called digimon?) shot they electric threads at him again, but this time, Proctimon was ready and in one powerful wing move he was airborne and looking down at his apparently undeterred opponents. "Automnal Time!" He called on, sharply moving his wings as the clock-hand shaped feathers lighted with purple light and dispersed themselves in the wind, exploding on contact around and on the two Kunemon, who sudddenly blackened before somehow "melting" into the ground, leaving two normal-looking fainted rookies. "That was... Creepy." Kely commented, before turning back at the battle between Tuskmon and her partner. Rei: Just don'tforget we still have to deal with the Leviathan after that, and I'm not sure whether or not we are supposed to be able to defeat it.

I'm French, but I've learned quite a lot of English, though I can't really speak it fluently. I'm in my 4rth year of Spanisgh, (though this is basic spanish, urgh) and my first german year. I think there are classes of Russian too in my college. I kinda like German. It's so different, and sometimes funny (the world for "plane" means "Flying thing").

"I'm William, and this is Tempomon." "Hey." The digimon waved cheerily. "I didn't know there were other chosen children." The girl said. "Well, did you expect to save an entire dimension by yourself?" William smirked. Actually, he had though about it that way. The girl grinned sheepishly. "Sorry, too much Fantasy movies." Her digimon chuckled. "We should get you at Wizardmon's place sometime. Or Hardware Castle." He noted. "Oh... That would really be cool!" William stared at them, then shook his head and coughed. "Sorry to interrupt this touristic planning." They looked at him as if he had tentacles for ears, and he had to restrain himself to avoid laughing out loud. "But shouldn't we ty to look out for..." "Yeah, for what?" The girl noticed. "Evil... things?" William suggested.

This can't be worst than some collecting threds that have popped up recently. Murphy's Law start with "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong. " and continues with such simple precepts as "If anything simply cannot go wrong, it will anyway." and "If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something." Now this thread aims to collect personnal applications of Murphy's law. One of my favorite, which was proved surprisingly right over years is: "If you are in advance over your timetable, it is probably faulty." Also, "'Ingenious fool' isn't am oxymoron, it's a pleonasm." (From the fact fool people are so ingenious at finding incorrect ways of doing something.)

He knew it. Today was the day. He had dreamed it, seen it, experienced it. Alarms and yells clouded his ears as he looked at the door. /Clock! Beeeeeeep!/ A light turned green and he swiftly opened the door, stuck his arm out and grabbed a kid, just about his former age, holding him at arm's lenght. The youngling reflexively spat at him. Kevin swiftly dodged and swirled him around. "Hold it!" The kid squirmed, and a tear swelled at the corner of Kevin's eye at memories. An exploding copter flashed in his mind. He shrugged it. "What... do... you want. You old runt!" The kid yelled. "Now, calm dow. How strong is your acid?" He released the boy, who turned back at him. He blinked. "It can melt Teflon and gold." he said. "Perfect. Now we can go, just watch out for the axe." he ordered, walking for the ajar door. As the kid followed him, the head of a fire axe somehow shot through the opening, barely missing his left ear by a few millimeters. "Don't worry. As long as you listen to me, you're safe." The old man said, walking out in the labyrinth.

As for me, well, the closest thing was bread with a bit of weird green stuff on it. Took me a couple of bites before I noticed it. Even though it didn't taste at all, I absolutely refused to eat more of it.

Yowzstki! Old thread! Birth name: Kevin Lefebvre Subject name: Lef Kappa-23-4S Mental Age: 14 Physical Age: 60 Appearance before: Classic unrecognizable teen grown all over the place, green eyes, brownish-air. Appearance after: see pic. Bio: Kevin accepted out of fear of delinquent prison to enter the Alteration program. Somehow, while noticeably increasing his intelligence and reflexes, the DNA alteration also aged him five times and gave him a form of clairvoyance. Kevin as been drawn on the very verge of insanity by his visions. When being in the experimentation labs, he sees and often feel all the pain inflicted on his comrades. He is currently being trained in various art of combat. He would already have evaded the place, but the scientists ensured that he'd be relient on regularly absorbing small doss of palladium, a very rare metal, or have his aging rates accelerate exponentially, a perspective that terrifies him. Besides, he's seen visions that showed all his attempts failing.

Quick tip about Digimon RPGs in genera: It's usually much easier to play, whenever possible, a caracter that has already known his digimon for a while, as it makes interaction much more plausible and gives possibility for flashbacks and memories, but then again, that's just my opinion. "Thank you a lot!" William waved as the rookie digimon flied back into the forest. "Take care!" It said back. William turned back to have a look at the landscape before them. It vaguely resembled his bed: lots of greeny stuff piled into soft hills. Here and there, tree copses toped the hills and flowers were everywhere. Far away, a cliff carved the horizon deeply into the sky. A group of digimon ressembling pink sheeps toped with missile launchers was grazing some distance away. "So, this is what the Digiworld looks like when you're the right side up." The chosen commented. "Yep, at least this part of Server." Tempomon confirmed. "Perdon me?" "Server is the largest continent of the Digiworld, Folder and Desktop are much smaller. File Island is also a very nice place." "Okaaaay. I suppose we will visit those in time." A beeping from his D3 prevented William to ponder more about the size of the Digital World. He looked at the screen, which showed two blinking dots: a yellow was approaching quickly an orange one in the middle. "Tempomon, is that..?" He started. "It's another D3! And he should be right next to..." Tempomon looked around, not seing anything until a large brown eagle with horns suddenly landed in front of them. William attempted to back a little, but triped over his own foot and crashed down. "us." Tempomon achieved his sentence. A red-headed girl about William's age stared down at him. "Who are you?" she asked. "What a coincidence... I was about to ask you the same." William replied unhelpfully.

Angel isn't the least surprised that a small monster is suddenly in her room speaking to her. Also, she just generally accepts the idea that she's traveled to a whole new world and there's a large bird that just happens to be waiting to give them a ride? And she's still not the least bit surprised!
Well, there ARE "unfazeable" people, and we are assuming a world post-02 where digimon are not too much of a secret and the existence of parten digimons known. AT least, I assume it that way. The branch was cracking and the situation, critical. "You wouldn't happen to have an idea as to how to survive this, would you?" Asked a hopeful Tempomon. "As a matter of fact, I do. I could drop you so the branch doesn't snap and I can climb it down, but I'm not sure how much hurtful the fall would be." Kevin said sarcastically. Tempomon rolled his eyes. "Next time I'll keep my mouth shut." He huffed. "Hang on there!" a voice suddenly yelled. "Was that you?" Kevin asked blinkingly. "I think it's the folks up there with the rope." Kevin looked frantically up. The branch cracked more menacingly. Ah! Here they were. A group of pink bird digimon. They handed down a length of rope that dangled in front of the two partners. "Grab on!" "With great pleasure!" The rope was dangling just out of his reach and he swung at it wildly, causing event threateninglier creaks from the branch. "KEVIN!" Tempomon urged. His partner stopped and glared at him, barely restraining himself from putting his hands on his hips, seing as it would mean droping the digimon altogether. "What?" And as all things in this world (even if it is a digital one) have limited resistance, an horribly long and loud crack signaled the redition of the branch and, subsequently, the fall of both friends. However, we wouldn't like to kill our caracter so soon and the fantastic laws of cinematic movement (Movement in cinema) affect their chute just the right way as to allowing Kevin to grab the rope "Never again" he muttered. ################################ "Thank you guys, I don't know what would have happened if you haven't been here." Tempomon thanked their saviours. "Well, I, for one, can say that we'd probably have crashed and broke a couple of bones." Tempomon rolled his eyes. "Mind you, I prefer that way out of a mess." "I agree." "What is a human doing around here?" One of the (now identified as) Biyomon asked. "To be frank, I'm not sure exactly." Kevin replied, glancing at his partner. "Well, ever since the Digiworld's creation, when evil raised, it always defended itself by partnering Digimon with humans. So I can only suppose that's the reason we were partnered. And you can't posibly fight evil from another dimension, can you?" Tempomon explained. "Good point." Kevin nodded. "Now just what evil are we supposed to fight?" "No idea." Tempomon replied. "It's been a while since I've been here." He turned toward the Biyomons. One of them with a reddish tone to it's feather shook his head. "This forest is deep and quite unexplored from the outerlands. We don't receive news often, but I haven't heard of anything ever since Malomyotismon's defeat." "We need to know what's going around!" Kevin pointed out. "Exactly. Can you guide us to the edge of the forest?" Tempomon asked. "Certainly. And you can call me Berrie"
